miss laurie wood here mr bill parker is not present miss sheila eugetti here miss jill humphreys here madam president you have a quorum thank you miss wilson and we'll excuse mr parker as well as dr santa cruz he i mean sorry dr mccord sorry dr santa cruz dr mccord he is home with the stomach flu tonight so we have miss bets filling in for us but with that we will now move to 3.01 the approval of the agenda board members may have a motion i move that we approve the agenda as presented thank you miss you jetty is there a second second thank you dr santa cruz it's been approved it's been moved and seconded and i'll ask for a vote to all those in favor of approving of tonight's agenda please say aye aye
any opposed please say nay passes 4-0 that takes us to 4.0 1 the superintendent's report and tonight we will have our assistant superintendent miss bonnie butts please speak to that amen thank you um good evening governing board members um i just have a few things to share first of all i'd like to welcome two of our student senate members ms janki bhakta if you'd please stand and she's from desert ridge high school and then mr derek murphy would you please stand if he's here okay and he's from mesquite high school in addition we do have one of our participants in the aspire program these are teachers that are looking to move up in gilbert public schools and administrator positions and so i'd like to welcome chris jackson if you could please stand up that'd be
great thank you and then finally i wanted to share with all of you that the state house arizona state house has approved waving the arizona expenditure limit by over a two-thirds vote that was reported today and now the request has been submitted to the senate for their action so that was really good news for all of us to hear and that concludes my superintendent reports thank you we will now move to 5.0 requests to speak to the governing board and we'll begin by hearing the admonition the board may make an open call to the public during a public meeting subject to reasonable time place and manner restrictions to allow individuals to address the public body on an issue within the jurisdiction of the public body at the conclusion of the open call to the public
individual board members may respond to criticism made by those who have addressed the board may ask the staff to review a matter or may ask a matter be to be put on a future agenda however members of the board shall not discuss or take legal action on matters raised during the open call to the public unless the matters are properly noticed for discussion and legal action during the open call the board requests that speakers refrain from voicing complaints against school personnel or any person connected with the district as it may impact due process rights policy k e k e b and k e d are provided by the board for disposition of legitimate complaints including those involving individuals forms required for use of these policies can be obtained from the gilbert public schools website thank
you we have four requests to speak each of you will have three minutes and we'll begin with wendy fiandaka and then after her chad thompson i'm short okay good evening board members and mrs beth um i just wanted to speak tonight to add to the conversation we should do a little bit to the aggregate expenditure limit at that meeting it was disc like presented all the factors contributing to it and the need for the legislature to vote to override it as they haven't been passed but i didn't hear during the meeting or the subsequent email one of the major factors that is causing the delay in the vote uh and i know that i had heard that same news the house voted to do the override but i think this is still true in many
senators that they're awaiting a court ruling from maricopa superior court a quote from the community impact newspaper from january 2022 says it says quote senator jd mesnard our chandler said he believes a two-thirds super majority cannot be reached until the prop 208 lawsuit is fully resolved in the courts so this ruling will determine how much of the tax revenue that that generates above the the spending limit will uh if that amount that exceeds the aggregate expenditure limit um this ruling will decide how much that is and then the arizona supreme court had already decided in august 2021 that that amount would be unconstitutional so it's reasonable that the legislature would not want to vote a waiver on funds that they know could be unconstitutional so meanwhile the superior court has had this case since august
0092021 and they have had time to rule on it and they know about the march first deadline they've been asked about it a couple times and the supreme court too to overrule them but they should be sensitive to this and issue the ruling as soon as possible and i just wanted to say i personally hope that it it does happen soon that the ruling's forthcoming so it can be handled by march 1st because exactly what we don't need is a third spring school closure in five years so thank you thank you chad thompson i know that a lot of us are here tonight for more exciting reasons than hearing me speak but i appreciate you indulging a moment of frustration and a request from the board my name is chad thompson i'm a husband and
father of four three of my children attend gilbert public schools last week my daughter was sent home because she had symptoms identified as potential covid symptoms which isn't very hard to do because the list of coveted symptoms is pretty inclusive and most of these symptoms also happen to be identical to symptoms of people suffering from allergies or common cold my wife and i were told that she couldn't return to school for five days because of these suspicious symptoms surprisingly by that evening she was feeling much better jumping on the trampoline and harassing her siblings all of her alarming symptoms had disappeared and she should have been able to return to school the next day however because of current district policies she could not return to school and was forced to stay home for five days
as a parent of a student that has already suffered so much education loss as a result of closures and mass mandates imposed by this board it was extremely difficult to think that she had to miss even more school for arbitrary reasons our daughter is already struggling in school and was forced to miss an additional five days of instruction her teachers sent work home and did as much as they could to help her keep up but there's no substitute for in-person instruction even teachers agree that consistency and in-person instruction is crucial to their effectiveness and the success of their students these policies of unnecessarily forcing our children to miss school are doing nothing but harm there is absolutely no benefit there is no evidence that supports the efficacy or necessity of these asinine policies that are
clearly in place for no reason other than optics i implore the board to get rid of these policies and allow parents to decide when their children are well enough to go to school you claim to be here for the students and teachers but policies like this say otherwise thank you next we have tim lesher and following him we have andrew clayton thank you board for the opportunity to share um i wanted to speak as a parent of a student of highland high school and a future student at highland high school i attended the site council meeting back on january 31st to allow the parents to speak into the hiring process of the next principle while we were at that meeting we found out that we were the last group of people that were invited to
speak into the process and that at that time the interviews for the final candidates would be done on thursday knowing knowing the process of hiring somebody those candidates were already chosen they already had their interviews scheduled and it and it felt like just kind of a formality and checking the box off that we met with parents in order to speak into this process we were informed we were the last group um and quite honestly as a parent as somebody who aims to partner with the schools to help make sure that the education is best for not only my kids but also their friends and the other students in that school it seemed very insulting to know that we were the last group and it was simply done because that meeting was already scheduled and we
should have we didn't want to schedule another meeting for parents to be there it truly speaks to the idea that parents voices are not going to be heard when it comes to who is leading their their students education and and so i come here tonight um as a parent i'm asking you guys to pause the appointment of brian yee until the parents can allow their voice to be heard in such a way that we get to actually speak into who is chosen for final interviews not just simply check a box off so that we can say that we met with parents thank you for your time thank you and next we have andrew clayton hello board members my name is andrew clayton i've had students at highland high school and i will have students at
highland high school in the future i've chosen to come here to speak tonight to voice my objection to the proposed appointment of bryony as principal of highland high school briny please sir i i just would remind you that we have a process for specific complaints against specific people just as a reminder okay thank you cool brainy has previously been reported to have engaged in sexual activity direct violation of ars 38431.02 he's not here to denigrate cast dispersion or insult on a future or past member of the school system i request that he be shut down to me he continues in this pose i would ask that you would follow the complaint process that we have if you have specific complaints against a specific personnel but if you have something else that you'd like to say
in general oh i'll i'll continue with what i got and he may not he's casting dispersion and innuendo directly against ars 38 okay thank you for your participation sir i've asked you again i've i've mentioned that as well so do you have something further that you could add without specifically referring to a personnel issue i see what i got the appointment of bryony has been made not been made with the students and staff's best interest in mind especially given the number of outstanding administrators within the district who are also available i implore the board to review this decision and reconsider this appointment the people of highland high school deserve the best leader possible and one should be found from the fantastic candidates available within the school district with brian yee himself announcing this appointment prior
to uh this meeting to the greenfield staff um this negates the voices invested in the well-being and success of our children without that voice without the submission of emails letters etc sent to the board descent in this kind decision we lose a critical component of what it means to be a part of our children's education you're good with that thank you if you have specific complaints we can follow up with you afterward thank you we have one further request to address the governing board amy peterson hi my name is amy peterson i am a native of arizona graduate of highland high school first class out of highland high school i've been here a long time i've had five kids go through the public system here in gps we came here for gps i am here
to support and and voice my support for brian e in my opinion there is no one better for this position he has been the principal or the the principal at the junior high where my children have gone he has gone above above and beyond i find it disgusting that community members would come in here and try to do what they just did especially in front of family members this is not the time or the place i think that the marcy and everyone else went through all of the avenues to educate inform request feedback and they didn't even need to do that that is not a requirement of them to do to go around and get everyone's approval for who is going to be hired as a principal and i can guarantee you that we can
get all kinds of less candidates that would be very frightening and scary and as far as discussing where we stand as parents involved in these types of decisions look at what has happened over the last year and a half you talk about not being involved in our children's education and decisions are you kidding me right now we haven't had one say schools have been shut down kids have been masked we went online i mean if we want to talk about where our parental rights are going to come in to play that is when we should have been standing up and fighting for our children right now i am here to defend and stand for brian yee he has done so much for this community so much for this junior high he has overwhelming support i
can sit here and tell story after story but i will share one that someone came to me they don't know mr yee they came and told me they had an experience with him they were at a basketball game at highland junior high school their son was playing ball there was a coach that was verbally he was very harsh with them and he was coming at her son viciously and mr yee called her that night he didn't know them he reached out and he said hey i watched that happen i have reached out i have filed or you know voiced my concern with that with the coach and with the principal and i just wanted you to let to let you know that i saw and to let your son know that i thought he did
great that was years ago and she still remembers it he went out of his way to make that phone call to make sure that child felt included seen supported when somebody was acting inappropriately so i stand here with brian he has a community of support so i am urging you board members to dismiss what has been spoken of him and i just want to voice my support thank you and we have two others justilyn cowser and jennifer stapley thanks so much for adding me in there my name is jocelyn kauser i have four kids here in gilbert public schools three of which have come through greenfield junior high and now highland high school and i'm here to also offer my support for principal yi he has been nothing short of fantastic for all three of
my students through the years that we've been at greenfield junior high i have witnessed him his ability to bring the kids together bring the teachers together and draw parent support during these coveted last couple years i had a child at highland i had a child at greenfield junior i had a child in elementary and i watched how things were handled at three different schools and hands down principal you did the best job of anyone i would 100 support him i am so grateful for the opportunity marcy gave us to come and meet with her at highland i'm grateful for you asking for parent input that's really all we want and what we always say is we just want our voices heard and i'm grateful that she came down and did listen to the parents and
those of us who have had children at schools where brian has been the principal overwhelmingly support him i don't know one person that does not i represent a large number of parents at highland and we are so grateful and happy to see the appointment of brian need to be highland's principal thanks thank you jennifer stapley hi my name is jennifer stapley i also have four children in the gilbert public schools that have been at the schools with mr yi and i give my overwhelming support for him i also have worked for the district both at the elementary school level i've worked as a math coach at the district level i currently work in the district undirected and directly as an nau supervisor of student teachers in the district so i feel like i have a
good perspective of it from both the inside of a parent who has watched mr yi and as an educator and i can't say enough how impressed i am with him um over the years i have had students at the school my oldest has struggled immensely he he has a heart he has a very difficult time he has um he's medicated has hard time with friends and i remember when he went to junior high i was very nervous and he came home every day and said that mr yee would come and talk to him at lunch that he'd seek him out he'd say how are you doing and as a mother that meant a ton to me and i think that speaks volumes of who he is as a person because he cares about his students
he cares about the community that he serves and it's evident in everything that he does when you talk to his teachers that work at his school they love him they are they he listens he listens to you whether you're a parent whether you're a student whether you're a teacher he listens and he wants to do what's best for those people that he serves and i just could not be more excited when i heard that he would be one of the candidates for this position and i'm thrilled that he will be appointed to this position he has teachers who love them students who love them he is in the community all the time and i just couldn't support him more and i feel a little frustrated when i hear community members speaking out against him because
it's hard to believe this week i just returned on a flight today from um highlands cheer nationals in orlando and all the parents there as part of the booster club i was talking with all them they were very excited the possibility of hearing that he would be our next principal so i feel like there's an a unanimous support from the parents of highland they could not be more excited to have him and his support and have him move our school forward in a positive direction and be a positive influence in the lives of the students and in helping the teachers further their professional education of those students so i just want it also to be known that i highly support brightoni in this position thank you all for your participation tonight we appreciate it and
thank you for those who also submitted their statements online before coming to this meeting that will conclude our request to speak to the governing board we now move to 6.0 reports and we'll begin with 6.01 fy 2022 second quarter financial report ms spetz governing board members this is the quarterly report of the month ended quarter ended december 31st 2021 which is why we're presenting it before the monthly report and i wanted to share with you that we had always planned on tying the quarterly report with the month in which they both coincide so this will be the last time in which we are a little bit out of sync but i wish to hand this report off to ms jackie matinen to share the information with all of you [Music] sorry about that thank you
miss betts madam president governing board members i am here tonight to present the fy 2022 second quarter financial report uh year to date ending december 31st 2021 please keep in mind that these are operating funds this report is laid out very similarly to our monthly reports also keep in mind that this is not budget however even though we're reporting december 31st 2021 year-to-date this is reflective of the fy 22 second budget revision that was approved two weeks ago so first we'll talk about operating expenses by source this is a year-over-year comparison uh december 31st 2020 to december 31st 2021 [Music] we have expected revenue is up 38.9 million dollars this is due to an increase in our budget year-over-year due to an increase in weighted student count base level support increase in classroom site fund
and there was no distant learning adjustment this year our expected annual revenue is based on our budget number two that was approved two weeks ago federal revenue received is up about 400 000 due to timing of our medicaid reimbursements state revenues are up in part due to the increase in classroom site fund if you recall we increased from 425 to 733 dollars per student some of that is one-time money of course this slide shows the same information similar information as the previous slide just in a different format the blue bars are expected revenues the orange bars are actual revenue received so we would expect being halfway through the year that our anticipated revenue or expected revenue would be about half 50 percent that is not the case due to the final payment being made after
the fiscal year this is the show's operating revenue by fund year-over-year comparison the mno you can see has increased due to again the increase in weighted student count classroom site fund is up 2.9 million due to the increase in classroom site fund allocation from the state other accounts related to operating expenses such as school plant civic e-rate capital is down a little bit the revenue is based on prior year adm and please note that we did report an increase in the budget two weeks ago but this does not reflect budget balance carry forward this is a new slide this time we took the same information from the previous slide and put it in graph form again an increase to mno increase to classroom site fund and overall increase so this is a cover some notes
that we just talked about i won't read them all but this is for the for the viewer second quarter revenue items to note talked about those are there any questions before we go on yes i was going to ask you a question and then if anybody else has any just remind me i'm sorry to keep to keep this all straight but so where are the federal funds reflected like the esser and different things like that they're not part of this operating operating fund picture snapshot that we share for the quarterly report those federal funds would be medicaid um miss vets anything else that i'm i'm missing uh nowhere remember that this is really uh focused on the operating funds so it does not include the federal funds okay except for medicaid right except for medicaid
okay because those federal funds are one-time monies they're not are usually a part of our budget is that correct is that part of the reason why they're not included and not not generally it's just that we've um when we when we do the monthly reports we kind of are grouping our funds so we're grouping them into operating funds and we group state funds and we group federal funds so for this particular quarterly financial we're focusing on the operating funds and are not looking at those other groupings of funds okay okay thank you i did have one question sure um when you speak of the the delayed payment we're not receiving the the expected revenue because of a delayed payment that is the the rollover that goes back to 2009 that is the one budget um
item that hasn't been addressed for education that we're still they're still paying us a month behind in order to make the state books balanced correct okay thank you moving on to expenditures please maybe no technical difficulties tonight so now we're talking about expenditures please again as a reminder this is not budget operating fund expenditures year-over-year comparison you'll see that we have expended and encumbered over actual so the percent expended and encumbered today 73 about 73 percent capital is up due to allocating those funds out to the schools salaries and benefits are up because of the compensation increase that was awarded you'll note that operating expenditures are down again this is not budget but keep in mind a year ago we needed to revise our budget we had to revise our budget down because of the
loss of students when we adopted last year we anticipated a 400 student loss we actually lost over 1500 students so this this 31 million dollars is is reflective of of that of the difference between those two budgets any questions there operating fund expenditures expended encumbered versus expended this is very similar to the previous slide it shows salaries benefits operating capital and total and again you can see we're very very close to last year and not budget um again second quarter expenses year-to-date items to note we just talked about those items any questions board members are there any other questions great this is the conclusion of our quarterly financial report for the quarter that ended december 31st and then we'll now move to 6.02 thank you miss matin for that 6.02 fy 2022 monthly financial report
for the month that ended january first two thousand twenty two miss bets i'll go ahead and connect so governing board members this is the uh the monthly report now for year to date ended january 31st 2022 again this report is reflective of the the budget revision that you approved two weeks ago we still kept it on the columns as pending because you approved the budget revision in february versus in january so we're trying to be disciplined with timing so we're going to again go over the operating funds some other funds the bond funds and the debt service funds and then again just a reminder that all the cash funds that are part of the report are updated reflective of the fiscal year 2021 afr which you all approved back in october so this is our
normal grid so it's all of these funds that ms matin just shared with you that we consider the operating funds just to give you perspective back so note the maintenance and operations again note the available balance there's a 50 million dollar available balance keep in mind that we do expect 10 to 15 million of that to be encumbered and spent through the remainder of the current fiscal year we're expecting a budget balance carry forward of 35 million dollars again we know that the house acted on the aggregate expenditure limit but again we're being very cautious with [Music] with allocating out those monies just not certain about the future the e-rate funds we have made a significant adjustment down on the revised budget number two pending we we believe that that four hundred and seventy thousand
dollars is a little bit understated and so that negative of negative nearly thirty thousand dollars will be corrected when we do the final budget revision by may 15th and then note the unrestricted capital outlay again as ms matin had shared again most of that increase or that that again the 22 million dollars is reflective of the budget balance carry forward that was realized uh from the fiscal year 2021 afr submittal and then again note the energy and water savings the dollar amount of the revised budget number two which is actually it says pending but remember you did actually approve that two weeks ago but the that revised budget was understated at that 250 thousand dollars we definitely will have a 349 thousand dollar expenditure there so we will again make sure that that's corrected and
updated for the final budget revision in may so any specific questions about any of those details okay great then the other funds detail the one that i wanted to present to you that's most notable is that we have added the employee benefit trust now to our general ledger and therefore to our financial reports note that later on you will be approving our rates our new rates for 2023 so we thought it was good that we would share this information with you for the first time tonight but you can see that we have an available balance of 20 million dollars again this is year-to-date as of january 31st the fluctuation of claims etc in our employee benefit trust changes sporadically throughout the fiscal year and then bond fund details as you know we had our bond
sale two weeks ago now and we will close on thursday february 17th the cost of issuance has been encumbered so we have opened up the purchase orders to pay bond council to pay our our moody's and s p bond ratings as well as our financial advisor and other costs so you can see that change in there of the 229 thousand dollars in encumbrance and we do expect there to be a bond proceeds increase of 50 million dollars once that once the deal closes on the 17th any questions on that okay and then finally the debt service fund details we highlighted this particular grid for you tonight because we were we just posted the um the interest earnings year to date so you can see the 5.6 million dollars i'm sorry that's not correct we we
posted interest earnings to give us a an increase in the year to date balance so the interest on the adopted budget that 5.6 million dollars has been increased to reflect interest i'm sorry uh that was just posted to the general ledger that we didn't have visibility to in the past okay and that's the end of the monthly financial report board members did you have any questions thank you miss butts we appreciate that we will now move to 6.03 the proclamation for career and technical education for the month of february 2022 miss bets so i will share the state of arizona governor ducey signed this proclamation and i will read through the proclamation this evening whereas february 2022 has been designated career and technical education month by the association for career and technical education of arizona
and national association for career technical education and whereas profound economic and technological changes in our society are rapidly reflected in the structure and nature of work thereby placing new and additional responsibilities on our educational systems and whereas career and technical education provides americans with a school to careers connection and to the backbone of a strong well-educated workforce which fosters productivity in business and industry and contributes to america's leadership in the international marketplace and whereas career and technical education gives high school students experience in practical meaningful applications of basic skills such as reading writing and mathematics thus improving the quality of their education motivating potential dropouts and giving all students leadership opportunities in their career fields and in their communities and whereas career and technical education offers individuals lifelong opportunities to learn new skills which provide
them with career choices and potential satisfaction and whereas the best education for all students is a rigorous education that blends the essential content of college prep studies with quality career technical education and whereas the ever-increasing cooperative efforts of career and technical educators business and industry stimulate the growth and vitality of our local economy and that of the entire nation by preparing graduates for career fields forecast to experience the largest and fastest growth in the next decade and whereas deca educators rising fbla fccla ffa hosa and vica skills usa are non-profit educational student leadership organizations whose purpose is to develop the leaders of the future workforce now therefore i douglas a ducey governor of the state of arizona do hereby proclaim the month of february 2022 as career and technical education month in the state of
arizona and urge all citizens to become familiar with the services and benefits offered by the career and technical education programs in this community and to support and participate in these programs thank you miss butts and we are excited and proud of our um career and technical education opportunities in gilbert and our partnership with eva and others and and those students who participate in that and the opportunities it gives them so thank you for that we will now move to 7.0 the consent agenda and i ask for a motion 7.01 approval of consent agenda items i move that we approve the consent agenda items as presented thank you miss yeti is there a second thank you miss humphries it's been moved and seconded that we pres that we approve the consent agenda items as presented board
members all those in favor please vote by saying aye aye any opposed by nay it is approved for zero we move now to 8.0 action items and we'll begin with 8.01 the appointment of brian e as the principal of highland high school for the 20 as the principal of highland high school for the 2022-2023 school year board members do i have a motion i move that we appoint brian yee as principal of highland high school for the 2022-2023 school year thank you miss humphries is there a second second thank you mrs eugetti it's been moved and seconded is there any discussion of the approval of briany as the principal of highland high school for the 2022-2023 school year yes i i do have a few comments i want to make i was fortunate and blessed
that one of the first visits i made as a board member was to greenfield junior high to meet brian yee as a principal in february of and every time i have visited his school he has impressed me with his professionalism and his dedication to students um one of the first things i learned from him is that he walks through every classroom every day as a way of helping his teachers get comfortable with his presence so that when he has to do an evaluation he doesn't make them nervous um one one thing that we did i think it was maybe the first or second year um we were um invited to come and judge a door decorating contest and this is when we were doing aims and we had just started the a through f letter
grades and you know it's really how do you motivate a seventh or eighth grader to do well on a standardized test that's kind of a hard question but this store decorating contest brian yee put in several things he had the score that they would need to increase their letter grade he had their grizzly strong that they were learning about and using in their school and he had other things that helped that be a real thing to the students and i i always think everybody should win but i thought that was an amazing way of making something that seems very out there in the air to to seventh and eighth graders made it made it very real to them that they wanted to give their best another time when i visited there was a student who
was struggling and you know i'm really not the most important person there he took the time he asked me to step out for a minute so he could deal with this student and did a wonderful job of helping that student to settle down and find his place so that he could go back to class and be productive and a couple other things um he they had the dude be kind program at greenfield junior high and i was happened to be at another event but i had uh someone from gilbert high school was talking to us and said you know we just have the nicest group of ninth graders that came in because last year they were at greenfield junior high and they had this dude be kind program and she talked about how much they
want to serve the community and how they started doing at lunchtime they're doing backpacks for kids to take home for the weekend so they can have food and they're helping to to take care of that so i know i was honored to be there both times when mr yi and his school accepted the arizona education foundation um a plus award which i don't i don't believe a lot in a through f's but the arizona education foundation sends in a team of people and the application is very rigorous and they come in and review the school and they look not just at academics and and or standardized testing but they look at the whole culture of the school and only about 35 schools a year are accepted to be an a plus school and i believe

recess that we might offer congratulations all right board members we will we will now resume we are now at 8.02 employee benefits trust medical and dental insurance rates recommendation for the 2022 2023 school year miss bets so we are the employee benefit trusts met committee met and we are recommending a very small increase due to the uh health of our fund at this point in time and i'd like to pass it over to mr mcintosh to add any details regarding the dollar amount increases for the district as well as our employees good evening madam president and school board member members and miss bets so as you can see in front of you there are some very minimal increases to the medical insurance of one percent which equates to a 25 cent per pay period increase
for employee only up to a 5.04 increase for the employee and family in addition to that there is a increase in the delta dental plan because we've been underfunding that for the past two years so we needed to make a slight increase in that as well um across the state from our consultant most of the self-funded trust increases are anywhere from 11 to 16 percent so we feel very confidently that we were able to pass on our minimal increases to our members within who elect to take medical and dental insurance because of the health of the trust happy to answer any questions and then in addition i wanted to share that because of the health of the employee benefit trust financial status we are recommending to do a medical premium holiday again during fiscal year
0562023 we anticipate that that will be scheduled in october on behalf of our employees that that may not be working during that first fall break next year so again trying to share the success with all of our employees as well as the various funds that support our employees in the school district thank you miss bets mr mcintosh are there any questions board members i just wanted to make a comment i just think that is incredible that we are able to keep our medical increase and our dental increase to such a low amount i mean that is truly phenomenal in in my book so thank you and then just one question the medical premium holiday so that will just be per one paycheck but okay and we'll give the the employees details more details about that
in the coming year great and we did have two premium holiday pays uh this year that were done in december and in january they were very well received and very successful thank you all right board members may i have a motion on the employee benefits trust medical and dental insurance rates recommendations for 2022-2023 school year i move that we adopt the employee benefits trust medical and dental insurance rates recommended for the 2022-23 school year as presented by mr mcintosh and miss betts thank you mrs eugetti is there a second second thank you dr santa cruz it's been moved and seconded that we approve the employee benefits for the trust medical and dental insurance rates as recommended is there any discussion i just have one comment to make mrs wood having been on this committee for
eternity i have to applaud the work that the whole committee has done but especially the leadership of mr mcintosh and mrs betts on it um we are in such a good place and i mean we've been in good places before we've been not so such good places but their leadership has really helped get us to this to this point thank you miss you jetty see no further discussion i will ask for a vote all those in favor of approving the employee benefits trust medical and dental insurance rates as recommended tonight please vote by saying aye aye any opposed by nay it's has passed 4-0 thank you board members we are now to 9.0 requests for future agenda items um 9.01 items for future agenda if there are any otherwise get with myself or or miss
wilson and we can address that for the next agenda uh that takes us now to 10.0 board committee reports 10.01 is the gilbert education foundation which i am now the liaison for and i just wanted to mention that there are scholarships open for students and staff which will close on march 4th so if you go to the gilbert education foundation website there's information and applications for those please please look at those and use those as as you are able to and then 10.02 city of mesa liaison and legislative representative mrs humphries the city of mesa had their state of the city address this morning and just on the legislative side i was going to mention that the house had passed the aggregate spending limit and just say a thank you to the chandler chamber and
