I like to call this meeting to order. If you can please rise. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Introduction of members. Jane Regio from Millville. Carrie Godette, Blackstone. Aaron Binaco, Millville. Chuck Dunton, Blackstone. Tara Scobie, Blackstone. Tara Larkin, Millville. Dan Keefe, Blackstone. Julia Corrente, Blackstone. Maya Gagne, Blackstone. Kristen Dinardo, director of finance and operations. And Jill Pilla Galvani, interim superintendent. So before we move on to the next agenda item, I want to do some student representatives. And just so you know, not only do we have our high school student representatives tonight, we have two middle school student representatives who are going to be giving us some updates on and some

news about the middle school. Okay? So can we start with our high school? So you can model for them because I know they're going to come up next. So on Wednesday, March 11th, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the BMR cafeteria, we had our NHS empty bowl dinner and it was a huge success. We raised around $3,000 for the Blackstone food pantry and there was performances by the jazz band and chorus and the induction of the new members is going to take place April 29th. Mr. BMR also took place in March, March 12th in the BMR auditorium and Don Paul Theccan was crowned BMR Mr. BMR this year. BMR jazz ensemble earned a gold medal at jazz states this year. And this was on March 14th. They will be also be performing at the Hatch

Shell on Sunday, March 3rd in Boston. And the Windham Ensemble and Concert Band performed at Mica on Friday, March 27th and Saturday, March 28th. The Windham Ensemble took home a gold medal and the Concert Band brought home a silver medal. And then, CMAC recognized eight winter athletes, three from boy boys basketball, three from girls basketball, two from winter cheer. And now we are transitioning into our spring sports. We have varsity and middle school baseball, varsity and middle school softball, varsity and middle school track, and varsity girls tennis. And they're all having a really good season so far. Our mock trial team just finished off an amazing second season of our district having a mock trial team, and they were undefeated for the entire regular season, made it to the state tournament at Clark, and are

now preparing for the spring tournament, which will be at Westford Academy in late May, and are currently in the process of selecting a new leadership board for next year, which I have no doubt will carry out this amazing legacy that we've gotten started here at BMR. The CD MASC, uh Central District of the Massachusetts Association of Student Councils Spring Conference will be happening on April 15th at Medfield High School. Delegates from our student council, as well as I believe 20 about other student councils across our state, will be attending. And we have also 26 advisers that will be there. Students will be attending and running workshops. We also have Jocelyn Haggerty of our council who will be running for the Central District position of vice president. And then, myself and Julia will be helping run

that conference as I am the state secretary and Julia is a delegate on that board. And then, our seniors have now left for fourth quarter internships. If it seems a little bit quieter in the BMR hallways, that's because I believe a 36 of members of our senior class have left, and they are all out in the workforce on internship, but they are still able to participate in any and all senior events, so you'll see them right back when we have awards nights and all those other fun senior events. Our winter guard and winter percussion also just finished up absolutely amazing seasons. They were consistently winning first place. I saw all on Instagram every time I woke up, and I was like, "Oh my god, guys." Literally almost every single competition, they came out on top.

And their winter guard finals were in April on the 4th in Salem, and winter percussion finals are actually just coming up, so they're coming to a close on the 11th. The 8th graders are now going for their Washington D.C. trip, and this will be April 8th to 10th. And then, our prom this year is going to be at Crystal Lake Country Club, and it's going to be on May 1st from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m., and the theme is under the lanterns. All right, that's it from us. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. And you mentioned the D.C. trip, so I've been getting furious pics in from one of the advisors who's there I could connect with on a regular basis, so I know Jackie's been trying to show you some of it looks like it's

beautiful. They had the blossoms were all, you know, out. Everything looks great, so if you have a chance, anyone has a chance to to check it out where she's been trying to post as they come in, so looks like they're having a great time. Yeah. But thank you for sharing all of that. So now we have our members, our middle school reps. Do you both want to come up and sit at the table? You okay if I sit next to her? Mhm. This is our first time. You just tell us your name and what grade you're in. Uh good evening. I am Emma Albrecht, and I am a sixth grade student at Harnett Middle School. 010I'm not counting, honestly. I've had a great experience at BMR. I'm not counting. Great. Excellent. It's a good answer. >> Thank you so much for coming. Thank you, both. >> to seeing you. Thank you for having us. Okay, let's move on to the reorganization. So, I think we'll start with with our chair. Like to make um if there are any nominations for our chair. I would like to nominate Dan Keefe to remain as our chair. Second. Okay. Are there any other nominations? Is there any need for discussion? Okay, then we'll have a vote. Jane? Yes. Carrie? Yes. Jane? Tara? Yes. Tara? Yes. Yes. And I will just turn the meeting over to you. Well, It doesn't matter. You're out voted. I will turn the meeting over to you. Okay, thank you, and thank you, and

I will not put you under a uh roll call vote for the following the next nominations. Uh next would be uh I'll open up nominations for vice chair. I nominate Tara. Uh Tara Scobie nominates Tara Larkin, second a second by Chuck Dutton. Any Any further discussion? Any other nominations? This time I'll close the nominations and call for a vote for Tara Larkin as vice chair of the school committee. All those in favor signify by saying aye. Any oppose? It's unanimous. Uh next we have um I Uh uh huh? >> Treasurer. Treasurer. Treasurer, yeah. I know it's Treasurer then Secretary. Secretary. I was going to say clerk, so I apologize. Um I'll open up nominations for Treasurer, District Treasurer. I nominate Kerry Godette to remain as Treasurer. Motion made by >> Second. Tara Locken, seconded by

Tara Yes. Too many Taras. Tara Scobie. Now, Tara, were you laughing at me just a moment ago for having a run? It's okay. I do appreciate that. Um are there any other nominations for uh Treasurer? Hearing none, um I'll close the nominations and take a vote. All in favor of Tara I'm sorry, Kerry Godette uh for Treasurer. Uh signify by saying I. I. I. Any opposed? The I's have it. That was very difficult. I'm sorry. I'm I'm sorry to get through this again. Difficult to get through this. And now we have Secretary, correct? So, I'll open up nominations for Secretary of the District. Jane. Oh, Jane. Tara Scobie. As I'm staring at her like, are you going to do it again? Oh my god. Okay, so >> I'll nominate Tara. I nominate Jane as a

nomination for Jane Reggio. >> Second. There was a second, right? I second Jane. I just I Aaron Vinacco. Uh any other nominations for I'll nominate Tara. Double down. Double down. Tara Locken or Tara Scobie on the second? Okay. Hearing none, we'll close nominations. Um and all those in favor of Jane Reggio as um I can't believe I can't uh Secretary. >> Jane, I'm sorry. Signify by saying I. I. >> I. Any opposed? The I's have it. Congratulations. It's unanimous. Okay, I'm sorry for You will pay. Oh no, I'm scared. I'm sorry for making so much >> out there before we could even like I'll give you my note. Fair enough. I wasn't even done like asking. Um okay. I thought there was like something the matter with you the way she called your name. I'm

like, "Did I do something?" I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I Sounds like you made eye contact with me and that's all you did. I I should never have looked up. That was an exit stage left. Plot twist. Look at the deep breath she's taking. She's She seems as though she's relieved. We have We have students that don't even know when the date they're graduating. So, obviously they're having a great experience. We knew the date and the countdown. The countdown. We knew exactly when back in our time. So, much I have to say having a senior in my house, I don't She doesn't have a countdown either. I don't know if any of

them They must be enjoying themselves. They don't even want to leave. They That's okay. That's good. That was a great answer. Okay, consent agenda A warrants. >> Standpoint of order, we should be appointing our legal counsel. Oh yes. I know we don't have a list in front of us. We did discuss that last time we We just We cuz they changed their name so we accepted it but Um I'm just looking up the actual name. KPG KPG. That's a one name. KPG KPG KPG KPG Um I'll tell you right now. And that's that's That's for the Yeah, it must be for fiscal year. >> Our district council, yeah. No, it's It would It would be for fiscal year. So, we we do it now, right, Jane? We can Yeah, we can We usually do it.

can. Yeah. Yeah. I mean that's the only appointments essentially we or we have a time where we do our subcommittees and stuff. >> Yeah, and then we put Jill on the regional whatever whatever but that later. I'll just throw that I would imagine this matters under the chairman. Yeah, but I feel like we also do the district treasurer. You mean the auditor? The audit or the treasurer. I mean we used to do like the Monique is the like assistant There were there were three. It was legal. The treasurer. I don't know that we've done that in a while, have we? It wasn't on last year's the school committee secretary like the person that takes notes like does the minutes. Maybe we can put it on our future agenda. >> Yeah, we can we can we

can Yeah. All appointments we typically do whether it's at this time or June we should have an appointment meeting. Okay. I have no I have no issue I think we can appoint right now for the KTG legal >> KTG legal Yes, I can do that on the matters of chairman. So we'll get that one out of the way. So Yeah. Yeah. So I'll take a a motion to appoint KTG legal as district council. So moved. Second. Motion made by Aaron seconded by Carrie. Um any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying I. I. Any opposed? The I's have it. Okay, consent agenda A warrants motion to approve the warrants. So moved. Motion made by Carrie. Second. Seconded by Carol Larkin. Any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying I. I. >>

I. Any opposed? The I's have it unanimous. Uh approve minutes from March 5th, 2026, March 26, 2026. So moved. Motion made by Matt. Second. Seconded by Chuck. Any discussion? Hearing none, all those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. Aye. Any opposed? The ayes have it and it's unanimous. Approved budget workshop minutes from 2/5/26 and 2/18/26. So moved. Motion made by Matt. Second. Seconded by Tara Larkin. Any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. >> Aye. Any opposed? The ayes have it. Unanimous. Uh public forum. Anyone here to address the school committee this evening? Seeing none, we'll move on to school committee update. Um school committee uh MSBA update. >> Yep. So if you look on when you came in, there was an agenda underneath it. Um these didn't come out

early cuz we just had our school building committee last night. But what I did was I just pulled out a few slides because it's really nice we've been talking about a building, but it's really nice to kind of see some things. So what we also have here and Kristen, who will be our building a light, just to be able to show we brought um DRA, our engineers, did bring along um you know again, preliminary uh map that is on your um your um your handout as well. But this just gives you an idea. Last night um our agenda we talked about at the site. We also talked about the um operating systems, but um which we do have another meeting next week, but we wanted to just share with you all um just kind of

to get a look at things that are coming together. So just to give you a quick overview and again, I will let Kristen point. Um the front of the building It's actually here. is actually around the back. Um the bus drop-off right now is in the front, just where Kristen was pointing. The parent drop-off as of right now is yep, in that little loop in the back. And you'll see there were definitely some changes because the building that is shown there in that light tanish orange is where the current below the hill where the current fields are. So, that means the fields would need to move. So, you can see that we have some new tennis courts, which I think is going from three to four. Um we have our baseball field, but it's also

has and some of may say it's kind of oddly shaped. It's because it's actually half an all-purpose field. You can use it as a soccer field. >> Yep, it could be soccer. Other things can play on there. Then we have the girls softball field. And I did ask the question last night cuz I was concerned cuz it needs to be configured in a certain way when you think about sun's rise, sunset. But yes, these are all in line with that. Um we have our football field, which is in the same spot. Um we have some parking. And just so you know, when you look at that, the parking that's up there now is the same amount of spaces that we currently have at the high school, but we talked about could we look at potentially

and again, these are all preliminary stages, but could we potentially look at adding some additional spaces because if you look at it right now, parking to go to the field area is is limited. So, we already have some ideas um to be able to expand that. And then you also notice there's a small little tan orange um block right there um that But it won't be orange. >> It won't. No, it's No, it will not be orange. Um but that what we talked about is because the fields are so far from the building, there is an opportunity that it would still fit in with an art funding scheme, MSBA scheme, that we have we could move some um of the locker rooms for football to this building, which is closer to the field and also

have some um restrooms in that area and like a small little snack shack area. Um but it would still fit. What would happen is the space that we use in the school would move from the school to this outdoor area, but it's still part of the programming. So, basically, what we're doing is the pieces that would help support our programs would move closer to the actual program. So, again, those are still in the preliminary stages. Um but we just wanted to give you an idea um and the community to take a look uh where it is. Again, things could change um but this is uh you know, for some of the details, but this is where we are right now. >> for additional reference, the baseball field is where our current building is. >> Yes.

Mhm. Thank you. I was watching. I figured that part out. Yeah. I think it's nice actually see all the conversations we've had on paper. Um if you look at the the sheets I handed out to you, you just I gave you an update uh just gave you some reference. If you look at the second picture here, that's the entrance to the building. Um we talked about should it be more square, should it be more curvy, and everyone was, you know, the curves are just a little bit more welcoming. Um so, when you're looking at this picture on the right-hand side, actually, pretty much right in the middle is where the administrative would be on the left-hand would be the cafeteria. All right, so they're talking right there. Yep. Then I just also included just some

other views of that entryway to the school. And we talked about even things as detailed as what kind of trees, because you don't want them to get too big, right? When they mature, should they only be a certain size? So, just kind of getting to the details of all of that. The other thing that we did include, our community engagement group has been hard at work, and we did talk about it at our school building committee um last night. We thought it would be important, we wanted to share with you. There are a lot of things that have already took taken place, but there's a lot of upcoming events that are going on with that. So, I don't know, Tara, would you do you want to just review some other things we have coming up?

Um so, um next Monday, um Jane and a few of and Jill, sorry, and then um members from the design and um owners project group will be at the Millville Millville Senior Center giving a presentation um during my luncheon. Um, Blackstone Board of Selectmen is on 4/28. They've um invited us to join and present the project. Um the National Honor Society new member ceremony. We're just looking for um some of the school building committee members to volunteer to hand out some of the flyers and answer any questions um if anyone is there to speak with us. We just want to make sure that we're there. Like if wherever like families and community members are that we'll be there. Um May 1st is the Parks and Rec has a movie night at the middle school. So

we'd like um a member to be there. And on the 1st also it is the family dance for the elementary school kids at the high school. So in addition to having someone there to talk, we are going to try to organize a couple of tours around the building for parents that are interested in taking their kids around, too. They can all see it. Um Derby Day. Um again, I think those hours are wrong, but um It starts at 1:00, I believe. >> Yeah, 1:00 to 3:00 or something was the actual. But so we'll be there. Again, the Millville Board of Selectmen on May 4th. Um there's a talent show on the 9th. District of One event um that's an all day event. So we'll make sure that we have tables um our design and OPM

are there as well. And tours hopefully on that day as well. >> and tours there, too. You're right. And then the Blackstone Senior Center luncheon will be June 4th. And then in July um Blackstone's semi-quincentennial event. We um actually need to get a request in to Sarah for a table. She mentioned it last night that we're not on the list. So um Yeah, you um very you may not be on the list, but you have pick of the pick of the litter of where you want to be located. I can guarantee you that. So that big four-day event, we'll figure out staffing or just a table, booth, something to make sure that info's out, and by then we should have a lot more information. We'll have submitted our schematic design um the end of June,

so we'll have more info um in July. But if anyone's listening and they do have questions, um you know, visit the site. You can look up information on our site. It is in the process of being updated right now, and then once it's finally updated, what we was also been requested is we'll be sharing a link with the towns. So someone goes on the town websites, they could easily access, you know, our website to find out some more information. So but if there's our question if there any questions of the community, feel free to reach out, visit our site. Um we do have some handouts. We'll be available to hand that out We also want to make sure that our members of the school building committee are there to answer any questions um you know,

folks may have about our project. May I the elephant in the room, uh where's the rock? Oh. Great question, Matt. And what's going to happen to it? It's in the library. It's still there. Is it going to be like they're going to build a school around it? Cuz it's not going to go anywhere, right? It's It's fine. I think it would be a great fundraiser that when it's blasted, we sell the pieces. Yeah. Like the Berlin Wall. You can get your year. free paint Yeah, you can scrape that off. It's actually The rock is actually only about this big. Yeah, right. It's actually not going to be nearly as much work as they think to destroy it. They did a They did They did a core testing with 32 ft of Krylon. I mean, maybe

it's right here, though. Maybe it's like the center of the bus Maybe not. It's there. >> Maybe it's truly in the wall. >> It's in spirit. It's there. Maybe they could save big pieces and put it somewhere. We did have a conversation because part of our building it's it's our educational piece, it's the community piece, it's sports, but it's also safety and security of our buildings. And one of the things that was brought up is because this is the rock, if it was there, which it won't be, was so close to the building, it's it could actually be you know, a safety issue. You don't want anything that people could hide behind or put things behind, but I think that's a great idea, Aaron. I wonder if there's a way Are they blasting it or

are they filling Are we filling in or are we going down? Is this We can I'm not going to say the exact answer. I think I know what it is, but I I I think it's going to be gone. I don't know if it's going to be there. Is this a downhill Is that going to be on one grade or Or are we raising the land? So the rock is elevation. on the second floor. They're not filling. They're not filling. >> Yes. So there is going to be a >> The elevation is going to When you see the bus drop off >> If you're going down, well, yes. That's on the second level. So when you enter, yes, that's a great point, Jane. If you look at the back of the building to the parent

drop-off, kids are coming in on the second floor, right. Yeah. Bus drop-off is on front side of the The drop-off is in the back of the building. Parent drop-off is on the second floor. Yeah, so the I mean the drop-off in elevation is in the back of the building. We might have to assign like a wall, maybe like that little snack shack or something that classes can decorate with their year or Yeah. But the gymnasium the um the uh gym, which is yet right there, is part of it is below the hill. Mhm. >> Yeah. Yeah. So that and when you come in, that's what you'll see, but the the plan is there'll be some windows along the top. You know, it'll recognize it as a school. Could be a charger there. Um But yeah,

so it is lower. It's not Yeah. The front facing the ball field It'd be a nice walkway from that park. I grew up on that rock. So the football field nice Those are wider little machine gun. Uh-huh. Is this student parking? It hasn't really been designated yet, but I'm sure it could be. Yeah. Yeah. I know this is just like a original like this is going to change. >> going to change a lot. It does seem like there's a limited parking and the parking is like the main parking is in the front of the building, so >> the spaces are the same we have now. However, you are right, Matt. The majority of the spaces are in the near the school. So that was discussed last night, so they are looking at some other options

to try to put parking closer to the >> things they were saying was maybe even moving that concession locker room building over uh some so that you could extend that parking lot a little bit, but >> Yeah. Yeah. And what's missing from this is our new handicap parking. >> No. It's still there. Yeah, it's just not in the It's not in the picture, but but maybe that whole front could be ex- >> could be other parking, too. Oh. Where you're pulling straight in. Where they park on the grass anyway. Anyways. You could level it out and You'd have to make it >> Not all handicap, but >> to make a culvert there, a big drainage pipe going underneath cuz it's >> It's there. Yeah. Well, that's the The drainage is there. Right where the new

parking spots are. >> Yeah. So you'd have to just continue that down. Because we even last night someone asked the question about extending parking where we now throw jav. So like down on that area. Yep, but they explained that with the stream and the bridge and the culvert and the cemetery that is just The stream and bridge and the cemetery. You know, everything that's over that way. Definitely more to come, so I'd encourage everyone. We our our school building committee now meetings are um live streamed. You can come in person and they are recorded. Um so you can definitely find them on the website to to learn more and see our project continue to change. Play ball. Yes. Exciting. Pretty cool. Any of us water? So just quickly I had an opportunity to speak with

Carol from the core. So McClure engineering is continued to complete their daily monitoring. They're in week six of the study. They're completing all the required monitoring and testing and they processed approximately 78,000 gallons through the new system and they remain in close contact with both Mass DEP and the town to evaluate the results moving forward. So we're hoping to get more updates but again it's just in its preliminary stages so it's moving forward. It does 13,000 gallons a week. That's about Okay. Yes. Yeah, I think that was So All right. Does anyone know I know when Jen Gill was here she said she was going to make a motion to send the water. Do we know that happened? For next school year. Well they have to They have to have provide the bottled water for

the Well have it for this school year but when she came in and it was the last time she said she was going to I just never caught that meeting. >> know but they would definitely have to until But yeah we we should look into that because they have to until they get the okay from the Operational or running and approved by >> approved by Mass DEP. Yeah but she said she was going to ensure that it was I'll try to catch that meeting and We'll keep an eye on the that yeah we'll look at the water budget and we'll make sure that that will be reflected. Well they can use their million they can use that grant for it but It's a good question. All right. I'll try to listen to it on my

next commute. >> Yeah. Um Okay. And just while we're on MES I I I I think an email went out today. I didn't have a chance to read it for the follow-up on the generator. Correct. >> Correct. Okay. Well, have we got no And And have we gotten any action or any No. So, um the email that went out today was just letting them know we are approaching the $25,000 responsibility that the school has for the generator that we're renting right now because the generator that we have is not functioning. Right. And this isn't the This is a reminder because we've sent out emails and we did have a meeting. So, Millville did have some people or had somebody come out and look at the generator that we have. They were going to within Millville

figure out if they were going to replace it, if they were going to fix it. We haven't heard any updates from them on that. So, that email was just asking for information on that and letting them know that the next invoice that we received for the rental um will have exceeded our portion of it and that's when they'll start paying their their portion of it as well. So, I haven't heard anything back from them. All right. So, to Erin's point, we'll look into the the water and I'll have to look at the see if there's anything on the town meeting plan for Okay. Cuz it's going to be either way, the repair or the new one is Correct. >> is going to be something that's capital. And in the interim, you know, it's going to

be transferring from us for our requirements for the rent rental. Mhm. Can have the argument already. So. Okay. Thank you. I report of the superintendent. I just have one item. So, um every year we have to provide and we're This was our initial um report. We have a um it's a progress report, but it's part of the Student Opportunity Act. And what it is, it outlines the districts are progress in implementing evidence-based practices and to improve students outcomes and close the achievement gaps. So it we had all of our middle of the year data. So what we needed to what I needed to do was to give a progress update on the work that's been done over the last two years and this year have we been working toward the goals we set in this

the SOA report. So some of the implementation highlights are that we are continuing and you've heard this during our MOY to strengthen our literacy alignment. We actually have alignment that goes K through five and then six through 12. That was new it put into place this year. We've expanded our focus on writing. We have common rubrics, the high quality questions and tasks. You heard about that during our MOY. I did include all the information that was recently presented that talked about our beginning of the year assessments through I ready and our middle of the year that showed that we were closing some of those gaps of course but we still have work to do. I included in there that we did have strong the evidence showed that we had strong gains in our foundational reading

reading skills especially for those students reach PK through five working toward grade level expectations and the writing performance has definitely improved in those areas as well. In our middle school grades six and seven we have increased reading proficiency and reduced the number of students who are significantly below. Writing can show a steady improvement in organization and critical thinking. For upper grades although there was growth in reading and writing we have more students who are meeting expectations but we still need to continue to support for those interventions. We are starting to close the gaps for our students with disabilities and our English language learners. They all both groups showed growth. There were a couple of grade levels that we could see some more improvement in that but we have targeted those and moving forward what we

put in our SOA is that we're continuing to strengthen our tier one support so all of the work that goes on in the classroom. We're expanding our writing across all grades, and I've talked about TNTP land, the work we're doing with land before. We're looking to increase and target the interventions that we have in tier one, but also our tier two and three, and to make sure we have everything in place, so our students have the supports they need to continue to build skills to access grade level content. And the thing to note is it was a very interesting looking through all of this. All the work we're doing now that we've done in the last few years, it it absolutely in our school improvement plans aligns with everything we're doing with our strategic plan.

So, this is our initial uh progress report. We'll get some feedback from them on anything we need to do, but that was submitted um just uh about a week ago. Will you bring the feedback to the committee? Yeah, if we get any. They may say to you, "Great, just keep doing what you're doing." But if not, I will definitely know if they have any suggestions. And this was submitted to DESI? Yes, it's it's it's yeah, it's been submitted since I think 2019 was the first year. Um so, yes, it's been present sent every year. So, hopefully we'll just get back and yep, you're doing all the right things, but if we need to make any quarter turns, I can definitely let you know. And that was it. All I have for you. Thank you. And

the business report. All right. So, first thing that we have is our personnel report. You'll see that we had two appointments um and there's three resignations that we've had um so far. Um that's on personnel. As far as expenditure report, we don't have much um there isn't anything really new to report from our last meeting on March 26th. Our budget continues to be favorable. We're keeping a close eye on our expenses, um but we're we're in a good position. Just Like I said, keeping an eye on on things as we come to the end of the year. Um things that we've budgeted, whether we've under budgeted, over budgeted, and and what we need to do to um, close out the year. Um, any questions on the budget at all? And where we are as of

today? All right. Then the next item is donations. You'll see that there's a list of donations that we've had this so far this year um, that have come through the business office. The first donation is a thousand dollars and that is for the fall scholastic book fair at the middle school and that has gone into the middle school donation account. There is another donation to the uh, Millville Elementary School that is $2,672.94. That is from Shutterfly Lifetouch and that's the commission for the school photos the beginning of the year. We then have a district donation and that is from Stop & Shop Community Bag Program that we have of $237. Next we have a middle school donation from Moranz Studio and camera commission. I don't know if I said that correct, studio on. Um, again

that is for middle school pictures um, and that was $1,593. Next we have a a donation for the middle school grounds that is a donation from Kevin Burgess. He was an Eagle It was his Eagle Scout project proceeds to be put towards ground maintenance and upkeep of the deck that he had put in for his project of $676.24. We then had a donation to the high school from Ohiopyle Prints. It's a quarterly royalty check that we get based on sale of spirit wear um, and that was in the amount of $44.87. Next, we had an athletic cheerleading donation from a SNAP fundraising event that they had, and that was in the amount of $2,396.60. And then the last donation I have is the middle school Scholastic Book Fair that they held, and the donation amount

came out to $1,237.15. And just need, I believe, a vote to accept that. Want a motion just to accept all of them. A motion made by Tara Scobie. Second. Seconded by Jane and Chuck. Any further discussion? Hearing none, all those in favor signify by saying I. I. Any opposed? The eyes have it. And we have no vote on any um We didn't have any budget transfers, so I did not include them. I know. There's usually pages of them. Excellent. Facilities um update. Mr. Heenan. So, this meeting is going way too fast. PLEASE CONTINUE IT IN THAT FORMAT. SO, during a recent food delivery, somehow the guy left the back door open and he looped it around the hand railing, and when he took off, he pulled the railing off the loading dock with it. So,

now So, we got an estimate to have that replaced, so I gave that to Melissa DeCosta, our food service director, so uh their insurance company is going to pay for it. Was that a strap, or was it a what I don't know how he did it. He just looped the door around the railing, and when he took off he forgot to shut his door. Yeah, the doors were open. So It wasn't a No, no. The doors swing open on this truck. Yeah, strange. Not anymore. I lost the tires around the corner and dragged the cone with him. Um Parking lots will be swept during April vacation and I will do my best to get the lines painted. Who's sweeping the parking lots? Well the town has always done it. Okay. Um I do got to

reach out to Jimmy Sullivan cuz it used to be Tommy Marchand who retired. So I'm assuming they have somebody else that operates it. Yeah. So We need Dominic. I believe it's Dominic. Yeah. Uh actually I should have talked to Jimmy today cuz he dropped off water sample bottles. We have to do sampling for the water at the high school and Hotnet Middle School. So I'll talk to him tomorrow when I drop those bottles off. I'll get that done. Uh cracks in the tennis court. I spent 4 hours on my hands and knees yesterday filling those cracks. And coloring the crack trying to do your best to color >> Yeah, I used a green dye inside the water and mixed it in and it I don't know It looks great. >> want to hear it. I

don't want to talk about those tennis courts. Yeah, it's a sore subject. So looking forward to those four new ones. There you go. Four. Four, right? Not putting the top coat on them. It It was my idea to consolidate the tennis courts back down to three and add more parking up there, but She knows Jean needed eight of them. She wants eight tennis courts. Four is not enough. We need more. And uh possibly line one of those tennis courts for pickleball, too, so the community get to use it. You may have issues with some of the neighbors and I had a relative The noise from the pickleball? I know a relative of a school committee member that said, "They'd better not be pickleball." It's a wild crowd. Um well, if we get votes for a

new school, and it comes, you know, comes down to pickleball courts. >> a separate issue. Separate separate debate, I'm sure. Uh Dust Devil Burners coming in during April vacation, April 21st, to replace the frozen heating coil that split open in I believe it was B 211. Um so, they're coming in to do that. Middle school. I know we talked about the um intercom system in the past. Uh during daylight savings time, when I went to go program the clocks ahead, it wiped out the bell system again. So, they came in, diagnosed a bad CPU board, said that board is no longer available, and we need to update our intercom system. However, I've been working with Dan Salzman, uh IT director, and um we can't find these boards online. So, we're going to purchase one, install

it, and hopefully get another 20 years out of the system. I will get quotes for a new system, however, also. This would be a fix for it. So, there there are options. And when you change that one board, you got to change another board with it. It's highly recommended. It's the power board, so. Um it's a relatively cheap fix compared to a whole new system. Uh let's see. I was able to rebuild the booster pump over uh Good Friday. I came in cuz I had to shut the water off to the building. So, I successfully rebuilt that pump. It's no longer leaking, and system's back up and running. The booster pump for the that we Yes, it was another one. Not the same one. >> Not the same one? >> No. No. Not the same

one, but I am working with the company um Industrial Pump to get that system replaced, because it is 23 years old, and there are grants out there through National Grid that will help offset the cost. So, I'm working and getting quotes for that. That system was kind of obsolete when the school was built. Correct. >> Yeah. Yeah. And now it takes all three pumps to keep the water pressure up in the building to get water through the third floor. So, some of the valves are failing on it. It's got the old diaphragm valves on it. Uh let's see. Parking lots will also be swept and lined April vacation, hopefully. Aubrand Paving has begun the excavation for the playground out back, if anybody has noticed. I surprised Kristen didn't add that in her report. Is that

what the dig safe marks are? That's what the dig safe marks are, yeah. Um playground should be going in April vacation. Yes. As long as the weather is holding up. So, that'll be exciting. Kids will come back, they'll have a brand new playground to play on. There's a little sneak There's going to be a little sneak peek picture in the community update this week of Nice. Yeah, and then look out for that. Mhm. Uh yeah, and like I said, Old Ty Play will be coming in during April vacation to put that up. Uh section of fence was damaged. If you pull on straight out at the stop sign down here, you'll notice the fence was pushed over by the snow. I'm going to try to straighten that up as best as I can. Um some

of the poles are pretty well bent over. They may snap when I pull them back. So, I'll get See what I can do before I call somebody in. Don't Don't look at the fence near the principal parking at Melville Elementary. >> So, ironically, that's on here. Oh, there it is. It is well. That's That's the last one. It's been like that for years. Well, how many years exactly? Yeah, I don't know. I would say about when I got there. Before somebody started plowing there? Um let's see. The back road at Melville was flooding out from the snow and the freezing ground and all the rain and everything. We had the fire department go up there a couple of times to pump it. That's the road that's used for parent drop-off. It circles around the back

of the building. So, it was pretty deep. And then, of course, you can't see the potholes under it, so people had concerns. So, we had that drained out. Peter Ryan did dig that out. He dug a trench along the back into the woods, which is deceiving because it looks like it's flowing uphill, but it's not. So, it solved the problem. It looks good. They did a really nice job. >> It's something that may have to be kept up, obviously, because of all the leaves falling and whatnot. It's going to dam it up, but he said he'll he'll take care of that. Uh sprinkler pipe in the boiler room is leaking. This was scheduled to be fixed during April vacation. However, they called me, said they overbooked. So, we're going to push it off until um

June. It's just a small drip. It's nothing serious. Uh a couple of sections of fencing was damaged. Um but Peter Ryan has called me. He said he straightened most of that up. There are a couple of poles that do need to be replaced, and he's working on that. And when they were also plowing up there, they damaged a little step that Christina used at the sign up at the main road to stand on to change the letters in the sign. That was damaged, so he's going to repair that as well. Um I'm going to have the custodians pressure wash the back of the building where the Looks like Looks like mold. I don't know if that is is mold. It's just um moss and stuff from the trees because it doesn't get sun. Lichen. That's

what it's called. Hm? So, I think it's called lichen. It's just that dark. It's not mold. >> Right. Yeah, it's not mold. >> It just doesn't get any sun. Right. So, it doesn't dry. It's really dark. Dirty looking. Uh and that's it for that. Um JFK, same thing. Parking lot will be swept during April vacation. That is it. Question. The um line painting at the high school after you Will you be repainting the band lines? I can. >> The field lines? I can. I'll have the machine up and running, so. Okay. Maybe a different color? I don't know. I don't know what you guys want to >> I'll talk to Todd before he leaves for the day. Otherwise, I'm thinking cuz they are all the lot as well as the band lines are faded. Right.

Maybe we can do it in the band lines. >> the parking prominent, then they might go out there in May and not have their field. They're different colors right now, aren't they? They're I think it's all white. I think it's all white. I Some of the hatch marks, aren't some of them purple? I don't know. Whatever. I thought it was some yellow. Can't tell. Can't see it. It's hard, yeah. So, I'll have yellow for the fire lane, so I can always do it in yellow or maybe we get some blue paint. I'll talk to Todd, whatever. I'd imagine you want something bright to see at night time. But yeah, I'll run that by Todd. Okay. Thank you. You're welcome. Anything else? Thank you very much. You're welcome. Scott, the master of all trades. Okay, we

have 10 more. So, for the facilities request, the first facilities request is for the Rex soccer summer camp for Blackstone-Millville. Um this is a request for the gym only and if it rains and they're unable to play in the soccer fields. So, that is for the week of July 6th through the 10th. It's a Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Um at um the complex. So, this here um total charge and fees is $100 and I think that is variable based on what they're going to need regarding the rain. And just so you know, too, that's the start of our extended school year, but we don't use that. >> of the bill No, we're going to be in Millville this year, so it will not have any impact at all. I'll just

I'll I'll call for a vote on each one. On each one? Okay. Make a motion. Thank you. Motion accept the the NYSO. A motion made by Tara Scobie. Second. Seconded by Carrie, was that you? Mhm. Uh Carrie Goulet. Any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. Aye. Any opposed? The ayes have it. All right, the next one is the FWHMS PTO fundraiser. They're doing a um adults-only trivia night hosted by Wise Guys Trivia to raise funds for transportation for field trips and other expenses. This is for Friday, May 15th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:30 at the middle school in the gym cafeteria and library is what it looks like that they're doing. Um there's no charge for this event. Okay, I'll take a motion to approve. So moved. All right, a

motion made by Tara Second. Scobie and but someone said over there was also Someone make a motion over there? You, Jane? Okay, so second. No, seconded by Jane and Chuck. Uh Any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. Aye. Any opposed? The ayes have it. It's unanimous. All right, the next one is the Blackstone-Millville Youth Basketball League. They're doing a color run fundraiser on the middle school soccer field similar to what the middle school has done in the past. Um there's colored chalk participants from the league would run around to different color stations. So, this is in the field at the middle school on June 20th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and then they have a rain date of the following Saturday from 9:00 to 3:00 p.m. Um, and this

is there is no charge on this one either. Okay, I'll take a motion to approve. A motion by Jane. Second. Second by Chuck. Any further discussion? Hearing none, all those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. Any opposed? The ayes have it. All right, and that was it? I'm just going to wait a few minutes just in case Celeste comes running in. I can't believe there's not a Paxton Rex request. All right. Next up, we have um, school committee forum. Any um, any comments for the school committee members? Well, I just want to thank the two senior centers. It's been really a pleasure to work with them. They respond immediately. They offered dates for us to come and talk with them. Um, and they've even posted our events to try to encourage seniors to come.

So, um, it's it's been very positive and I'm really looking forward to Monday at Millville and June 4th in Blackstone. Thank you and I Jane, did I not respond to an email that you may have sent me or Uh, you're you you indicated that other people should and they have. So, >> Okay. and we're all good with everybody. >> I I just wanted to make sure that I Yeah, okay. Yep. All right, and please if I don't respond to something like that in a timely manner, please send me a text. >> Yes. >> Yeah. We're good. >> Okay. Uh, anyone else? Quick question. For the district of one event, I know like last night with the school building committee was the first time I really heard about that. Are we going to be putting a

lot of that out to the community like on the website. I don't even know if it's on the website or the Facebook page or anything yet. >> Yeah, so Jen Acevedo's been meeting um on, you know, she's meets with Jackie. I attend those meetings as well. I know she's we're looking right now for all the schools um to get out that information, and I do think she has some community uh events going on, so I can double-check on all of those. >> Can I piggyback that? Are we checking in with like our student groups, like our class advisors, cuz they usually have a table? We are. >> I know that date has gone out >> to all the the high school advisors, um to the principals to say, and we do have some who've already

responded, but we continue to remind them. >> And it's this Is it going to be Sorry. Is it going to be similar police, fire coming? Is there going to be touch-a-truck? They were Yes, I believe that. And hopefully, if if the weather's right, she's working on all of those. Okay. We're hoping to make it as big, and sports, too. I know Elizabeth is involved as well. >> were there. I know that we're setting up, so we're setting up this year it'll be outside and inside. Um so, we'll have that as well. I know the school building will have something on the inside. I believe um Mrs. Ramcke is doing her cooking again, um but we have the library come, but we are setting up um inside and outside for this coming year. But yes, all

the advisors have been >> Okay. I think that we used to discuss it sooner. It used to come to the committee, so maybe next year it can come to us a little sooner, cuz I didn't even know about it. Yeah, we started I when Jen reached out, um we've had a couple just a couple of meetings. Okay. Anything else? Anyone else? Um Some of the dates that we approved tonight for like if the youth league is doing a color run outside or um do we have anything else? Maybe we should add that to this cool building committee. Events. Try to put people at. Yep. And our genie? Sign up genie. Sign up genie. Matt. Um, I don't know if I mentioned it before, but Kevin Burgess was did pass his board review. Yeah, he did

pass his board review. He is officially an Eagle Scout now. Uh, I don't know if we want to invite him at a future meeting. Yes. Um, again, we, you know, so you can, I know he likes to show off all of his Eagle Scout stuff. So, Yeah, sure. Yep. And >> More than welcome. The other thing is the they mentioned the sixth and seventh grade band um, winning gold. They were also invited to the Groton in Groton, Mass is a music festival. And that'll be this Sunday. They'll they'll be performing at the uh, I think it's called Groton Hill. You recall? It's a new newer hall. >> Yeah, it's like a yeah. Is sixth grade going too? Both are going on Sunday? Yes. So, they'll be both playing at 1:00. Congratulations. Yeah. Very good. Anything

else from anyone? All right. Well, I'd like to thank the new middle school representatives from >> Yeah, so nice, wasn't that nice? Yeah. And our high school representatives. Uh, congratulations to Matt and Chuck for being victorious in their bids for re-election on school committee. Um, so hard fought races that you guys had. It was tough. It was hard. I thank my signs all over littered throughout the community with mine. Um, I thank the school committee for having the confidence or either that or the lack of no else wanting to be chairman or combination. Thank you. Congratulations Tara, Jane and Kerry for Jane welcome. Welcome to the secretary role of the committee. We'll have no executive sessions moving forward after tonight.
