007course hello to my class of 2024 for those of you who don't know me my name is Jasmine santhan and I have had the great privilege of being this year's senior class president as I reflect on the past four years of high school it is easy to say that there is great difficulty in expressing all of its obstacles challenges and unique experiences our backgrounds have made us each beautifully different from one another and have cultivated us and to the people we are today and while at times it hasn't been easy it does not take away from the fact that you are here you have done it and you will continue to move forward in a direction filled with so many unexplored wonders and opportunities so as we all sit here in our caps and gowns
008today probably questioning how time could have blown by so fast I ask you all to take this moment in admire it and experience it vividly with life and vividness in mind I want to call attention to the senior gift this year the seniors will be donating gym projectors to really bring back the life into presentations events and school assemblies as we embark on our individual Journeys I encourage you to adequately adequately hold on to life and the light that you find in it find the reason for your motivation your drive what will get you out of bed in the morning for me my light will always be found within my familia mommy Papi I urge you all to remember to hold on to your light in the moments where you are uncertain and find joy
009in the little things never give up hope in a future that is completely in your hands someone once told me don't worry about being 100% it is possible to do everything right and still stumble and so instead I urge you to take take each day as it comes and know that every moment is temporary do not fret at the idea of failure but instead smile upon the risks you take and remember how important it is to pick yourself up and continue pushing forward your life will only be so much richer and Fuller because of it you are not defined by your shortcomings but rather you are defined by your growth in character ultimately the goodness in you will always Prevail so so as we go on about life I encourage you to dearly hold on

016much easier than that happiness is found in taking care of your body spending time with loved ones practicing gratitude and ra random acts of of kindness we can all start practicing happiness today if there's one thing I learned from Mrs boyin it's that positive affirmations can really get you through a hard time so look around you turn to your friends and tell them something you appreciate about them remind them that you are proud of them for all of their hard work now we can't all be as motivational as Miss Miller on a random Monday but take note share kind words with someone else later today it feels amazing to receive re these words of affirmation but it feels even better to give them class of 2024 I know we will be able to accomplish great

019a scholar athlete enrolled in AP Lit and AP stats this semester and finishing with a perfect 4.0 GPA our achievement above all student group was the outdoors Club our Outdoors Club is one of the most active clubs on Camp campus they boast a membership of just south of 70 students they have amassed hundreds of hours of community service just like the outdoors clubs other clubs and sports teams have made a huge impact on our community in total our students logged 20565 hours of community service our athletic teams had an outstanding year the following team sports made it to postseason play Bad Mitten girls volleyball girls and boys basketball girls and boys soccer and girls tennis girls tennis individual athletes qualified for state competition in golf swim badminton girls tennis wrestling and track additionally I want

022charity Trinity Bible Church's children Ministry young life and the parent organizations at her neighborhood schools she and her husband are part of their family-owned underground construction business please welcome Miss Ved mark thank you good afternoon this is exciting and a little surreal so good to be here with you uh I A lot has been talked about what has happened in the last four years but I would like to have you expand that time frame a little bit because a great deal can happen in six years you now are all around 18 years old and six years is about a third of your life so today as I get to speak to you I want to speak about the very formative past six years and look forward and encourage you in what happens in the next
023six years as well there is a vast difference between the sixth grade version of you and the 12th grade version of you thankfully right that's good your taste in music has changed your hairstyles have probably changed your hobbies and your interests are likely different and you've probably improved on the things that you've enjoyed and what you know now academically and relationally has grown exponentially sometimes you need to take a big step back in order to to look at how far you've come and what you've accomplished during the four years of high school graduates in the May in May of 2018 you were just finishing up your time as sixth graders for most of you that meant there was a big transition ahead some of you were going to a middle school or you may have
024been changing um the way you moved from class to class you were likely in a class with students that you had known from for the last six or seven years and that was going to be shaken up and the fact that you would be leaving what was known in your Elementary School was both slightly terrifying and could have felt about four or five months too long looking back to see how you maneuvered through these changes can prepare you now for what lies ahead you are about to leave the comfort of what you've known and it's likely that it's slightly terrifying and it could be a few months too long since you have earned your high school diploma at Thunderbird you are prepared to take on the choices and the challenges of the 21st century your
025work and the support of the teachers and administrators has Prov provided a foundation of all that lies ahead so here are some challenges to lean into in the next six years keep taking on things that seem hard and don't let yourself become too comfortable embrace these new relationships and expand your circle of friends in higher education and in the workforce these relationships will have an even bigger impact on your ability to succeed than you've even experienced previously finally when you're discouraged remember that things can look different in a matter of 24 hours in as little as 24 hours but they can be drastically different when you look at the trajectory of what six years looks like so keep that in mind as you set your goals and follow your dreams now I want to talk
026as a parent of a graduate I want to talk to the parents of families and friends that are here and I want to talk a little bit about what this Milestone looks like for us this is significant and it comes with a range of emotions six years ago I was an arena like this when my oldest graduated from high school and it was a day full of joy and smiles and not a tear was shed on my part maybe others but I just had such a great time however the following day and some of you may have been with me I went to an elementary school celebration a culmination of sixth grade and I completely melted down as I watched the students walk through the halls with the teachers coming out and applauding I was
027an embarrassing puddle of tears and I know I embarrass those people around me some of you might have been there I tell you this because you just don't know how these moments will hit you and what it will be like um but the beauty of embracing the stages and the very very big and many emotions is that we have so many new things to celebrate in the years to come graduates be kind to your family if they have embarrassing tears just know they love you and they aren't trying to embarrass you in this moment and now I get to do the very fun part as a member of the G Glendale Union High School District governing board it is my honor to congratulate the class of 2024 from Thunderbird High School I and the entire
