002please remain standing for the presentation of colors and the national anthem [Music] St the [Music] the [Music] [Applause] please be seated good morning fellow graduates faculty family and friends welcome to the Glendo High School graduation ceremony for the class of 2024 my name is AOL shabber the 2324 student body president at glendell high school it is an honor to speak to you this morning and before I go any further I would like to start by saying how proud I am that despite the adversities we've faced over the last four years we're all here today today is a day filled with mixed emotions knowing the season of our life has come to pass how often have you heard the phrase you've changed from people who' have appreciated your differences to those who haven't and we have
003changed even reading an old journal entry from the previous year doesn't sound like what I say today through these seasons of my life good and bad I've learned from them because we cannot change what has happen but to accept the lessons and opportunities given through them change just happen to be a part of life so regardless if these were the best or the most difficult four years be open for what's to come and it's okay if you're unsure of what that is because I'm right there with you standing here today would it be possible without the ones who have supported us to Mrs Morris this class was fortunate to have such a dedicated teacher who wished for nothing but to see a student succeed to my older siblings thank you for supporting me in every

005speech I can almost remember the one week break we got in eth grade that turned into a year and then began our high school experience online we had to deal with numerous trials and tribulations Co wacky wife and wild assignments but it was all worth it because here we are many of these achievements were made with the love of our family I want to thank my family for always pushing me and for teachers who never gave up on me even on my lazy days to Mr Brooks you always push us further than we thought we could go even if it meant taking a finals and when we didn't think we were smart enough it took teachers like Mr Parsons whose motivation and classroom style made us believe we could be as successful as we wanted

010our dreams will act as The Guiding Light on the hottest of days our dreams will act as the Oasis for it is for it is these dreams that shake the very foundations of our beings our Essence our expression dreams are the rap cities of our souls and even so we lay uncertain we take murky glimpses of our futures and we believe that there may be little hope hope that we won't meet our expectations but I was given some advice by someone very dear to me who told me that with tenacity and perseverance doors will open to have tenacity means to have the power to face any challenge that faces you to persevere means to have the ability to overcome for only when you are tenacious and persevere will you find the answers to your uncertainty

016Glend Dell High School and Phoenix college graduate who earned an associat degree in global business Miss arita and her husband are proud parents of two Elementary age children and a Glendale High School graduate she's an employee for the Glendale Elementary School District and has served as an active volunteer for the Glendale and Phoenix communities since the mid 1990s our second guest is our assistant superintendent Mr Justin Tarver who has been positively impacting lives as an educator since 1999 thank you both for being here board member arita assistant superintendent Tarver parents and honored guests we have before us a graduating class that has not only overcame obstacles in an UNC uncommon to classes in the past but did so while also being recognized for amazing accomplishments they have earned top 100 schools in the Arizona in
017Arizona according to US News and World Report had Gates scholarship award winners questbridge scholarship award winners dorren scholarship award winners as well as receiving numerous athletic scholarships this class has continued to move glendell forward by striving for excellence in the classroom and collectively have earned over $15 million in scholarships and grants towards our future plans one of the highest totals in Glendale [Applause] history seniors I congratulate you congratulate you all on your accomplishments and once again you have carried on the great tradition of Pride and honor to Glendale High School congratulations now please welcome board member laa arita to say a few words before conferring the diplomas graduates my name is laa arita and as a proud member of the Glendo Union High School governing board it is my distinct honor to address you on

028experience of high school okay so during our freshman year Google became our best friend as we studied through a screen and coming back to school our sophomore year we refrained from using the blue masks and adopted the more convenient black masks our junior year exposed us to the rigor of high school test followed one another until by the end our brains were fried then on May 20th 2024 we blinked and realized that our high school days were over no matter the ambivalence you feel towards the last four years A New Beginning lies before us our upbringing doesn't and isn't strong enough to Define our future leave the past where it belongs and look ahead of course we will experience pressure but remember diamonds are also made under extreme pressure class of 2024 I urge us
