001I'm Evan Gendro and I'm running for reelection to the Westport School Committee in the April 14th town election. Over the last three years, I've had the privilege of serving our community in this role and I'm proud of the progress we've made together on behalf of Westport's students, families, and taxpayers. I've played an important role in crafting and passing responsible budgets that respect taxpayers and meet the needs of our district. I've successfully advocated for significant capital improvement funding to address critical building needs, safety upgrades, and long-term maintenance. I voted in favor of proposals to expand academic supports and create new career and technical education opportunities so students have more pathways to future success. I was also proud to collaborate with other town boards and partner with parent advisory groups on ways to further support those we serve. Looking ahead, my priorities remain clear. I will work to help every student succeed by supporting individualized learning and expanding career connected opportunities. I will continue to advocate for responsible budgeting that meets the needs of our schools. I will also remain focused on uplifting the great work of our students and staff and building on the many strengths of Westport Community Schools. I hope to earn your vote on Tuesday, April 14th.
