004next decades to come i want you to look at yourself in the mirror and see a survivor we're being recognized not only for accomplishments in our education but our willingness to live our willingness to stand your ground to survive this world of unexpected turns let's set our academic achievements aside for a moment and reflect on the greatest accomplishment of all we're alive in fact every one of you in this room contributed to the strength of another you may be the reason for someone's happiness and health at this very moment if you are amongst those that were greatly impacted i want you to reflect on those that helped you through this rough time i want you to love them dearly to appreciate them for they have taught you patience and hope for a better tomorrow 2021
005graduates as you walk out of this room today i want you to stand big and proud because years from now when history is told we will not be referred to as a pitiful pair we will be referred to as an indestructible generation that lived to told this one single sentence if i was able to face a global pandemic what is stopping me from facing more you're the face of this generation use it wisely and remain proud your existence is the greatest accomplishment of all congratulations class of 2021 long laid the survivors thank you [Applause] the most important responsibility of a public school is to promote academic excellence apollo high school confers its highest distinction on students in the top one percent of the graduating class i am pleased to present four students who hold the

007a presentation on behalf of this senior class [Applause] hey everyone before i get going i want to thank some of the people who helped me along the way thanks to every one of my teachers my coaches and of course to my parents especially my mom although my mustache may suggest otherwise i am graduating on time and without them that would not have been possible thanks aside i feel or at least i felt a strange lack of accomplishment in graduating one percent this is largely because i never really saw what i was doing is very impressive for me it was just work the challenge was maintaining consistency but i think that in itself is a major achievement after all most major accomplishments are only made possible by consistent even tedious grind and having the grit to
008do it really isn't easy being willing to do this work and having people to keep me at it is why i was able to succeed and it will continue to be that way so if i could leave my graduating class with any advice it would be to not be afraid of the grind the necessary work is after all necessary and all of you have enough talent to achieve at something if you put the work in good morning it is my pleasure to welcome students family and faculty to the graduation day of apollo high school's class of 2021 i would have to say that the class of has had the most unique but also the most difficult path to graduation the world took a drastic turn in the beginning of 2020 with the coven 19 pandemic
009it left people around the world scared for what was to come and as we and we as students felt that to another level are we going to have school are my parents going to lose their job what if i get sick people tend to assume that our generation is lazy not hard-working that we can't do things for ourselves but i am here but i think our i think our generation exemplifies the exact opposite to all the generation to all the graduates in front of us today and around the country we overcame obstacles that no other previous generation in recent times had to overcome but the obstacles are not over as we leave here today as graduates our new beginnings will not all be sunshines and rainbows most of us will go on to college and
010get into mountains of debt others will go straight to work while few others are still deciding what their next move is whatever route you take after today will challenge you and push you down constantly the system is made so that you fail there will be obstacles after obstacles and many just simply give up but i'm here today before you to tell you that anything is possible if you put your heart and soul into it at a young age my father was deported in 2012 i had a sister passed away my mom was a single mom for most of my childhood and i grew up most of my life hiding my true self as someone that is lgbtq but here i am today [Applause] but here i am today as valedictorian of my high school class
011so whatever your heart desires in life i encourage you to put 110 in and achieve your goals we are only on this planet for a limited amount of time so treat your life as a gift because you only get one thank you and have a wonderful day hello everyone my name is he i am absolutely honored and excited to be speaking this morning and i hope we're all doing fantastic class of 2021 all i can say is gg that means good game we did it the years of high school are now forever beloved memories today we celebrate a remarkable milestone in life today will we as graduates begin to fly to our dreams here's a quick story 12 years ago i was graduating from kindergarten as a little little boy i remember also wearing a
012fancy cap and a fancy gown and you know what i thought when they handed me that little paper diploma i thought life was done in the same way even though we've worked so hard to finish high school there's still a lot to achieve in life especially our dreams it's going to be a lot of work yes but the future doesn't scare us the future welcomes us because we are now ready to confront real challenges the fact that you and i persevere through more than a year of quarantine and still graduated whether you're here or at home listening means that we're all heroes of the 21st century each of us is definitely capable of making the world a better place in one way or another be confident and determined and let your hard work pave the

014finally come for us to graduate high school these last four years have been challenging for all of us especially this last year with the pandemic and online learning however throughout all of it we are still here today about to graduate from our home away from home apollo has become a home for many of us the teachers offering their infinite wisdom about life athletic events where in blue or gold could truly shine spirit weeks that got us excited about our hawk pride creating friendships that will last a lifetime and becoming a great big family although we may be scared to leave this family that does not mean we should be scared of what lies ahead these past four years have prepared us for for the next chapter in life and the people who prepared us are

018apollo campus forever our first gift will help beautify apollo and add extra shade around campus with 10 new full-grown trees trying to offset global warming our second gift is to the junior class this is a little out of the ordinary but because of the impact of the pandemic our juniors weren't able to do their normal fundraising so we decided to help by donating funds to their class after all this has been a year of learning and reflecting upon how to help each other lastly we will be contributing to a concrete lettering initiative that will feature large ahs lettering that will be placed between the two gyms so that visitors remember their ad apollo these gifts will help commemorate our legacy here at apollo someone once said lives are made of chapters after one is written
