We'll start again. Um, welcome everyone. Uh, my name is Sarah Lince. My pronouns are she, hers. Uh, I'm chair of the board. Um, and I'm going to call this meeting of the appointments committee uh to order is 9:21 on um December 23rd, 2025. Um, joining me here are board member Upper and Vice Chair Bondo. Um and we also have a superintendent um Scallan to help us with um technical uh issues if we have any. Um and we are missing um board member Yusur Ali. Um but they might be joining um in in just a bit but we've got quorum so we're going to go ahead and move forward. Um the purpose of today's meeting is to appoint um three board members to the ad hoc um committee that the that was in the board's resolution.

the last meeting. Um that ad hoc uh committee will be in charge of um scoping um and managing the RFP or selection process uh for the firmer individual that will lead the um equity investigation uh for the district. Um, so just wanted to bring this group together um to hopefully identify this ad hoc committee um before the end of the year so they can get um going on that. Um uh board members, I do not have a specific um structure for this conversation. I think um I would just love to hear if there are folks on the board you would like to consider for this committee and then we'll see if maybe there's some overlap um and uh we'll we'll work it out together. But we're looking again for three um uh members of the

board. >> Yes. Uh chair. Yes, I'm I'm open to it. Yes, >> you are. I would love Mickey if you could be on the the committee. I think that would be wonderful. >> Beautiful. >> Um uh Julianne, did you have any people that you would hope to be on this committee? >> Um I don't know if if U member Brighten would be willing to be on it. Um I'm willing to be on it, but if someone else is better than me to be on it, that would be perfectly all right, too. Um, I don't know. Uh, >> if if if member Brighten doesn't want to, I will take over that spot. So, and I don't know who else we might >> I um I also just think like her legal expertise and I think her

ability to draft things quickly like RFP or whatever, I think she would be a great ad there um and could probably like um hold the process and keep it moving. >> Um, I would I support both of those folks. Um, so Mickey Sarah Brighten. Um, and then I also don't know if um, uh, board member Noir would be available, but I think, um, she could be great on this. Um, uh, did folks have other ideas about who the third person um, >> well, I, you know, I don't, I think it's, it's knowing who would be willing to do it. I mean, is is the time constraint? Certainly. Um, I mean any member of the of the board I think would be fine and faith in them all. >> What do you think Mickey? >> Yeah,

I think so too. I feel like just going to Yeah, I think Fatuma she's she can be the best appropriate person but it's about the time consuming and uh his own schedule. So yeah. >> Yeah. And I'm I'm hoping that if we could get this assigned today that folks could use, you know, I know Fatuma's in school, but maybe she'd have a little bit of a break in um January to help um support. Um >> Okay. >> So, we have three names on the table. Um so, we've got Mickey, Sarah Brighten, and Fatuma Noir. Um, are we like I would love to just like call that to a vote and then choose some alternates if that's okay to folks. >> Yeah, I'm open to it. Yes. >> Okay. So, I would move um that um

for the ad hoc committee um our candidates um that we would like to put forward are Mickey Bondo, Sarah Bryen, and Fatuma Noir as the ad hoc committee. Um uh and that is based on their availability to serve. Um but that is my um motion. Is there a second? >> Board. Board member Upperman. And um and then all those in favor of this being the slate. >> U >> in favor. >> Great. Um and so then um that's unanimous um for that slate. Um, uh, Julie, you said that you would be, um, uh, you'd offer to be in Sarah Brighten's spot if needed. >> You know, whatever is needed. >> Okay. >> If there's, you know, I'm not jumping at the chance, but I would be willing to. >> Yeah. Thank you. >> Make sure

we had another voice. Um, and then I mean I don't know if it's too time consuming for um Amaya member Lena. >> Yeah, >> she made >> Yeah. Again, she's very sharp. >> Yeah. So I think just like you just mentioned ch is that you know by voting and we see if the is is Fatuma if uh Sarah Brighten and Fatuma are no available so we can extend to other member. I think the three names I think >> yeah I'll do I'll do um my best to get those folks um to be able to commit. you know, I wonder if, you know, there's other things that we could help take off their plate so that they could serve in this role. I can ask them about that. Um, are you um okay with alternates being

um board member Uberman and board member Alina? >> Yes. Mickey, you're okay with that? Um I'm okay with that. And Julie, yep. Okay, great. Then I think um we'll move forward with this if for any reason it doesn't um work with this combination of folks. Um then I'm I will reconvene us um probably after um the Christmas holiday uh to see what we need to do. But hopefully we can um uh get this >> um uh going >> and we can let we'll let the board know at the um next meeting. I don't think we need a um a full board vote on this slate just because of the way the resolution was written and and the fact that we want to get this going. Um so just saying that out loud. Um so then

on that note I would move to adjourn. Is there a second? >> Thank you board member Operman. All those in favor of adjourning. >> Okay. >> We are adjourned. Thank you. >> Thank you very much. >> Thank you too. >> Okay. All right.
