001STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, art and math. The STEAM style learning is all about hands-on. It's a lot of labs and projects and practical learning to see how those principles connect. How STEM, technology, engineering, art, and math are in the world all around us. One of the things I find so rewarding and enriching about a STEAM approach in the classroom is that it really does allow us to honor the whole child and engage learners of diverse backgrounds, diverse abilities, diverse interests. I really want to take the approach that this is a safe, fun, nurturing space where students can take risks and ask those big questions and understand that you know making mistakes is a part of learning and it's it's also a way we build community and grow together. What I want to be when I grow up is be an astronaut. When I grow up, I want to be an engineer because you can invent stuff. I want to be a teacher and an architect. When I grow up, I want to be a nurse. When I grow up, I would like to be a scientist. What I want to be when I grow up is an engineer.
