001Hi, there, I'm Rose Devine, I am the proud principal of Madison Rose Lane Elementary School, the elementary destination of choice for students who are interested in a great academic program and also experiences in the visual arts, the performing arts such as dance and music, as well as theater. We have a fantastic presentation for you today. I'm looking forward to hearing your questions at the end, and I'd like you to please enjoy the video highlighting all of our programs at Madison Rose Lane. Thank you so much for joining us. I am Mrs. Ewald, I teach the art class here at Rose Lane. At Madison Rose Lane. Our signature program is the visual and performing arts. And so that means that we offer arts, music, dance, P.E. and theater to all of our students, K-4. I work
002with the other teachers to integrate as many of the programs as we can. We try to have them doing something in music that we can then correlate to in dance class, and then they can try and do some more performing with that in the theater room and add the artistic background to that in the art room. So we're really building all of the program together as we go. In the art room, we try to have a tab studio, meaning that the students are focused on learning how to use different materials using new techniques with them. The theater class, they work a lot on puppetry and creating characters and controlling their voices is important in the theater room when they are using all of their little puppets that they make. The music room incorporates instruments along
003with singing. And there are a variety of dance genres that are taught within the dance program. We're hoping that in the near future, we can go back to performing at the Madison Center for Performing Arts up on that big stage where we put together our shows and everybody collaborates to create a performance for all of the students to be involved in. I have worked at Madison Rose Lane for 17 years now, and it is an amazing place to be, one of my favorite things about Rose Lane is how many people are lifers here. We come, we stay and we grow. We've got siblings and all the grade levels. The parents have been here forever. It's just a very family oriented and very close culture here at Rose Lane. Hi, I'm Alicia Patton and I teach
004kindergarten at Madison Rose Lane. And this is my 10th year in Madison, eighth year teaching kindergarten at Rose Lane. In kindergarten, we focus on the foundational skills academically, to build upon throughout the school year. We lay the foundation for letter name sounds, phonemic awareness, those mathematic skills that build upon as they grow, as children grow throughout the grades first, second and on up. Also in kindergarten, we pull small groups for students if they are struggling with some skills or concepts, and also to help enrich if they are learning at a quicker rate. We want to make sure that we reach all of our students. The community at our school is just amazing. The staff, everybody feels like it's family at Rose Lane and we hope you come and join our family, too.
