001Hi, welcome to Madison Virtual Academy! My  name is Rhonda Sobon and I will be your math   teacher this year. At MVA you will be allowed to  work at your own pace and on your own schedule.   Each day you sign on to Schoology and access  your math classroom. On the first day of the   week there will be a discussion question to answer  and then later in the week you will need to read   and respond to other students answers. Each day  you will complete a daily practice Google Form at   your grade level so you don't forget any skills  and I can find out where you might need help.   Finally you'll need to complete  your online work for the day.   In third through sixth grade you'll be using a  great program called Beast Academy. 7th and 8th   graders will be using another great program  called Aleks. Both programs have written   instructions with many of the lessons also  having videos to help you understand the math.   Beast Academy also has stories explaining how  the Beast students learn their math skills. In   your Schoology classroom there will be links to  websites and math word walls to help you learn.   I'll be available for two hours a day to help  you. You can either just show up for help or   email me to let me know you're coming to office  hours and what topic you need help with. I will   be checking your work often and if I see you might  need help with a topic then I'll email you and ask   you to come to office hours. I'm looking forward  to a great year of working with you on math.
