001What makes Camelview special is that we are a community of learners. We help each other out and share great ideas with each other and ways we can help the students learn. So we just started the STEAM program and it has been amazing to see. The process for little ones is definitely interesting. Currently we're actually creating bubble wands. And the problem was, we didn't have enough bubble wands. And so we asked that question to all the students and asking that question made them create their own. It gets messy and its all over the place, but they're learning, they're using those critical thinking skills and their vocabulary while they're doing this is incredible. They're just so excited to be here and they can't wait to do STEAM. I love showing students the science of sound and how

002the bigger the instrument the lower the sound is and the smaller the instrument the higher the sounds are. This year we've been using these kits called "Little Bits" and they are electronic components that, they stick together with magnets and if the magnets are sticking together, then they work. And we use those elements, or those electronic elements to create musical instruments. A growth mindset is definitely huge at Camelview. We use a growth mindset for everything. We really encourage the students to always have a "yes" attitude. We never hear, like, "I can't do it" we say, "oh we might not be able to do it yet." You can see it, it's really evident in our classrooms, in the hallways, and it's evident in the dialog between our kids. If you're struggling on something, you can't say, "I

003can't do this, I give up." Like more positive feelings, like, "I can try again and study." It might be hard for you right now, but later on the road you'll get it and then you'll be pretty good at it. It gives them the opportunity to keep trying and do their best and to learn from their mistakes. My favorite thing about Camelview is probably the teachers. We want to make sure that they are, that they don't feel like they are like, a 4th grade class, that they know that they are an individual child and that we care about them. My math teacher is good at explaining stuff and like, you know, she explains really good and she helps you focus on the math lesson. So far the teachers that I've had are always very fun and

004trying to get you to learn stuff. They make games out of learning. My favorite thing about Camelview is probably the teachers. Like, I play basketball, and like, my reading teacher, my math teacher, all the teachers that surround me on a day-to-day basis they like to come and support me at my games.
