only raised a concern complaining about these individuals as outlined in my emails and I would like an answer. Lastly, I would like to give kudos to Dr. Anger who has opened my daughter's love for chemistry and science. My daughter is very sad not to have him as her science teacher anymore. Thank you. >> Thank you. Anyone else for public comments? So, I'm not gonna I think everyone can hear me. Can you hear me? Okay. I am Andrea Robinson. I am the district director with Senator Santana's office. I just bring greetings from her office to let you all know if there's something that you need, please reach out to us. And I wanted to let you know about um a program that she's doing for March's reading month. She's going to get to all the high
schools in her district, which is Dearbornne, Dearborn Heights, Detroit. We don't have any high schools in Allen Park, but that's a part of the district, which is Senate District 2. So, I believe Annapolis is the high school here in district 7. Um, she's going to come and she's going to address with the principal. Is that principal? Um, >> Howard S. No, >> Mr. Mlette. >> Oh, it changed. Okay. So, I'll get that information before I leave. But if anyone needs to reach out to our office, if you have ideas, comments, concerns on legislation, things you want to see changed, things you want to see added, please reach out to our office. The number is 517373990. That's 5173730990. And my name is Andrea Robinson. My email address is a Robinson. at senate.mmanspelled outcompletely.gov and that's a
robinsons senate.mman.gov and we will be bringing bookmarks over to the um elementary schools and doing a video but she's going to personally come to the high schools. So um any questions you want me to take back to the senator? All right, keep up the good work and thank you. I see some familiar faces, some new faces. So congratulations. >> Thank you. >> Anyone else for public comments? >> So my name is Tony Detroit, Michigan. >> First and foremost, um >> Mr. Not to cut you off. Do you Is the mic there? So I'm thinking of the little mic. That's why it says the mic didn't >> It's not working. So, >> it's picking up. >> You're good. It's picking up better. Okay. >> So, first and foremost, I wanted to say good job. >> I
love those programs that uh you got the grants for. That's awesome. I know of a couple other schools that got them as well. Allow you to do a lot. Um I also wanted to say thank you to the board members who have stood up for my family, who have helped us in times uh where no one else did, who've listened in times where no one else did. I really want to say I appreciate it. Uh quite a few of you I have come to personally and thanked you for just the things that you've done, the encouraging words, um even admitting um some of the things that you've seen happen towards my family. So I really want to say that I appreciate that. Um, I also wanted to say that the young family is not an
enemy to D7, but we will speak up against things that don't align with the the values and morals that you say D7 represents. will always fight. Not just for our kids, but for all kids, for the teachers that feel slighted. A lot of the times, what y'all don't know is the comments that we make are not our own. Sometimes we speak up on things because other people are afraid to. So, they come to us because they know that we have no fear towards man. and we will say anything that needs to be said in order for you guys to see and understand that there's problems that you don't know about or ignore or don't care about. Whatever the case may be, we'll always do it. And I will say this, you can always say what
you want to me. I'm an adult. I can handle it. I'm a big boy. You can challenge my education. You can challenge my tactics. You can challenge my words. You can challenge whatever it is you want to challenge, but when you come directly for someone's child, it's a whole another ball game. There are no pulling punches. There are no I'm sorry. There are no, "Oh, we we we should have a conversation." The conversation happens before you make comments about my son. You can speak about my wife. We're grown. But do not pull my children into anything ever. My son came up here and said what he said. He meant it. I stand behind him. He was not coached. He said what he knew he needed to say. And I'll support that always. But for people
to come up and then attack him, attack his character, that's what's shameful. Because at the end of the day, we're all adults. The kids come first. That's who I speak for. So if you're coming up here just to speak on things that I've said or my family has said, keep it where it should be, which is what we do. We focus on the children. We focus on the issues of the students period. It is not wise to take it anything any any any further than that. Conversations go bad, perspectives get jaded, feelings get involved, words are said, and the issues just escalate from there. Like I said, I'm a big boy. You can say whatever you want to say. Doesn't matter. Not to me. But I will not take any of my children being disrespected
for the things that they've said. That's the second time that's happened because my daughter came up here and spoke about issues that the district was having. The district actually uh did an investigation and there was a removal in place because my daughter chose to speak up because nobody else did. That's what we put into our kids. Do the right thing when no one else does. Say what you're supposed to say when no one else will. And if no one else is listening, then speak louder. I'm going to keep raising my kids this way because it's the right way. I will not take I will not take them being attacked because of it. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Anyone else? >> Hi guys. Uh Barbon Detroit. Um well um I just wanted to say awesome
job tonight. Love the programs. Love all the things that's um going to be put in place. I mean like I mean fantastic. Can't wait for the future things. Um um we will be having a packini coming up. So hopefully I'll be coming with some um updates. Um what else? the um the um um field trips. I would love to see the middle and high schoolers go on field trips this year. That like that would be so so amazing. Um Detroit has has an imagination station place downtown. That would be so great for if they would if they could go there like that in just any of the museums in Detroit if they could go if they would be able to just go there. I don't know if the teachers have to set the field trips
up for them to be able to go or if you guys have who however it has to be done. Just encourage whoever the staff to set up more field trips for the middle and high schoolers um high schoolers know to be able to go. That would that would really be great to get them outside of the classrooms to be able to learn. And there is a STEM um program called sticks. If we could get them inside of um just inside inside of the schools, they are awesome. They came to our um we went to um um I went to the um MASB conference last year and just oh my gosh they are so fantastic when I say they are willing to come inside and just show us man ju just their presentation just just for
them to bring um some of their kits it would be really awesome so yeah look into look into six they are fantastic so yeah that's all from me guys >> thank you anyone else public comments as long as we don't have any do we don't have anybody else that wanted to go get or needed to go. Go ahead. It's Steve. Sorry about that. I didn't have a comment card, but I did have a question. Are these meetings online or are the um the are they is it video that you can go back and look at them online? >> Yes. >> Okay. And then the prince, the new principal for Annapolis >> is um Aaron Mlette, but I have your phone number, so I'll give you a call. >> Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Okay.

Excellent. Excellent. Thank you, ma'am. All right, >> President Sterling. Yes. >> Um, I want to I would like to do a kudo if I could. >> Sure. >> So, I want to give a kudos out to the Annapolis High School wrestling team. I went to the uh the wrestling tournament this weekend and um I just was so amazed on the professionalism and at one point because there's there was two, four, six, there was at least six I think schools that participated in this tournament. And what was really amazing and Mr. Klein, you missed you missed this part. There was one student who was from another school that happened to be wrestling in a spot for the uh Annapolis, not for the team, but that weight category just so he could get the experience of wrestling.
And not only did the Annapolis team cheer on, which was really good, the opposing team also chanted this kid's name and the kids high school that he's with, they were also in a section and they were chanting it. It was just so beautiful. Even though he did not win, it was just so amazing. It felt like you were at a Lions game. Just the It was so loud in there. So, um, so actually, I want to compliment all the high school wrestlers, but especially ours because, you know, I'm alumni, but, uh, yeah, I just want to give them a comment. They did a great job. >> Thank you. >> And I'll I'll jump on that. I was there earlier. I caught the early match. So, um, again, the work that the athletic department does to
put on an event like that is a a lot of behind the scenes. And when I walked in, everything was roll. I mean, it was very first thing, first match, everything was rolling. They just do a really nice job. And I did watch our wrestlers compete and I know just a little bit about the sport, right? So, I think the kids are progressing. So, I was a wrestling coach way back in the day, back when I had hair. So, yeah, back in the day. So, very good. Thank you for saying that. Anyone else? Okay. Adjournment, unless I missed something. Be it so resolved that the board of education adjourns the meeting at 7:46 p.m. We have a motion. >> So moved. >> Moved by Trusty Windless. Supported by Trusty Anderson. Roll call, please. >> Trusty
Dyra. >> Yes. >> Trusty Stabanovic. >> Yes. >> Trusty Wall. >> Yes. >> Trusty Windless. Yes. Trusty Anderson. >> Yes. >> Trusty Sterling. >> Yes. Motion carries. Everyone have a good night. Be safe. >> Oh, I was like >> I am so I just got DC. One chapter. Oh, >> that's okay. >> I should have known. I knew >> that. >> I know. >> Yeah, that's basically what they were doing. >> Okay. Do you know what they did with the >> They were They were the Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Yeah. I don't know what they did with it. They filled it in. Yeah. They filled it in the truck and they took it off, but like in the middle of night they literally had all these construction machines break in piles. No problem.
>> Did you have I don't I don't speak.
