receiving services at this time that does not include the students who are on monitor status or parent withdrawn okay thank you that is our biggest school yeah cage 12 thank you any questions uh all those in favor I I all right thank you the next item I bring before you tonight are some policy changes the first two policies and Exhibits are Rel Rel ated to professional staff certification and credentialing requirements and the support staff qualification requirements these mirror each other in the changes we have added specific crimes that candidates must certify if they're awaiting trial for or have ever been convicted of and that's a result of Arizona revised Statute and the third policy is IMG and the regulation animals in schools there were minor changes where language was updated and clarified based on the

Americans with Disabilities Act I'm happy to answer any questions you have motion I move that the governing board approve revisions to policy gcfc professional staff certification and credential credentialing requirements policy gdfa support staff qualification and requirements and policy IMG animals and schools as presented second any questions all those in favor I thank you J thank you item j4 Mr Bogart discussion approval of policy considerations thank you Dr Lopez governing board superintendent streer I'm bringing you a policy revision to policy DJ and DJ e bidding purchasing procedures this is really formality that ingrains in our policy the investigation of debarment for our vendors uh when utilizing federal funds um it's not a change in our practice as these rules existed at the federal level for for years um so we're just solidifying it in our in

our policy I move that the governing board approve the revision to policy dge bidding and purchasing procedures as presented second any questions all those in favor thank you J hi Miss freedy good evening president Lopez members of the board Dr streer and members of our inperson and virtual audience tonight I bringing forward two policies for consideration for revision based on recent statutory updates the first is policy IGA it's on curriculum development a recent a recent review of our policies which is also the asba policy um the recommended asba policy language it indicated that there was a professional responsibility listed for teachers that actually is not required by Statute and so in an effort to make sure that our policy reflects the statutory requirements and professional responsibilities of teachers we're asking for our policy to be

updated to remove the responsibility and the requirement to serve on curriculum committees the second policy is policy jfbc admission of transfer students and this policy revision based on again a statutory change is really to protect one of our most atrisk groups of students Foster Youth and so there is additional policy language recommended by asba that we include in this policy to ensure that when Foster youth partic in this these policy changes are related to Foster youth entering grades nine that are in grades 9 through 12 when they join us in musd that we have a plan to and once they are ours to take a critical view at their the courses that they were taking before they joined us the classes that they already have credits in uh in order to make sure that we

provide as much support as possible and make a plan for those students to earn credit wherever and however possible as well as to create a graduation plan for these at risk youth and so I what we're very we're blessed that our um our current policies actually already align with this and so this is just adding some additional protection and support for this uh very important and um at risk group of Youth I move that the governing board approve the revision to policy IGA curriculum development and policy JF ABC admission of transfer students as presented second any questions yeah I have a quick one are are you is the administration planning on writing a general plan or are you planning on doing it based on each student's need as they come to us so we already

have a procedure and a process in place that takes a look at at all of the courses and then we make a plan for what Stu what courses students could potentially test out in um what classes we could just award the credit based on how late in the semester we receive a transfer so we would just enact our policies and then what we would do is we would create a so the the additional procedure would be to ensure that we have a graduation plan uh for those students and we go ahead and make sure that we outline whatever years they have left in musd how we can make sure that we put a plan in place that they will graduate on time with the state requirements for graduation ours are we have a we have

a yeah our expectations are a little bit higher in musd but we would make sure that the expectations for foster youth are consistent with those of the state perfect thank you all right all those in favor hi thank you thank you Mr Carlson thank you all right Dr streer president Lopez governor board members members of the audience uh agenda item j6 is a policy revision of policy baa which is the evaluation of Schoolboard and the and the board self-evaluation the language noted in the current policy sets October 30th as a date for an annual meeting for the purpose of the board self-evaluation the policy update removes that date it is not a statutory requirement um it's actually this policy dates back to the Inception of the manual so it's a little bit of a dated

policy um what taking that out gives allows for the board uh to have discretion of when that flow for that self- evaluation would take place for this board that's typically been in January I move excuse me I move that the governing board approve the revision to policy baa evaluation of school board and board self-evaluation as presented second any questions all those in favor I I all right next item is j7 Dr streer president Lopez governing board members members of the audience this agenda item comes from the Arizona school boards association's governance committee which is comprised of District governing board members from various areas around the State of Arizona they have review the organization's bylaws to establish a common understanding and to solicit suggestions and revisions the governance committee conducted a thorough review of their bylaws

and have recommended several updates uh to several of the Articles within their bylaws um this is really a discussion and vote of the governing board of whether or not you will accept the recommendations from the asba governments uh governance committee uh once we get a vote from the board we will submit that to asba the deadline to cast that vote is at 5:00 p.m on Friday December 13th I have a motion I I move that the governing board approve the Arizona School Board association's bylaw changes Pur proposal and direct Brenda jury executive secretary to the superintendent and governing board to vote in the manner the governing board has approved second any questions I just have a comment this has been a little bit of a interesting wraparound with asba and I just want everyone to

know that we are not going to be I don't believe any of us are going to be removing our rights to have our voice heard in asba um but it does clean up allowing asba to govern more efficiently based on not pulling every single member all the time so I just want to make sure it's our district do we have any other questions all those in favor I I I thank you next item is item K board member requests for any future item agendas guess we're good we'll move on to L future meetings next regular governing board meeting is December 12 we do have a um a meeting prior which will be held at the Tex Center next Thursday next Thursday right before uh Thanksgiving so great so thank you I have a motion to

adjourn I make a motion that we adjourn second all those in favor I I thank you Tom thank you
