you thank you Mrs Oak thank you Mahi we had a chance to see the video of the moment when you were announced and we all squealed on our cabinet team you know you have you have some uh big supporters in this group and uh who have been your principal previously and it was so exciting to see your face just light up and um um and to be able to receive that honor um so welld deserved and I I'm sure most people have caught Mrs Jenkins talk about um needing to be successful at the district level and then at the state level and then to even get to International competition um which we did have um a number of students uh from um our high schools achieve that um but to earn this honor I cannot

recall a student that we've had as an International Champion in our district in at least in the past decade um so what a tremendous honor and then you skated right in and made it with moments to spare for honors night right uh the group that came in from Anaheim I know made it just in time and I want to thank um Mrs faran and Mr Ward for being here this evening and I think I saw Mrs quesada as well so thank you so much for being here to um celebrate our students who are being recognized um we truly appreciate that so congratulations it was very exciting to see your excitement you should be so proud thank you I Echo the sentiments what a wonderful evening honoring uh such great students and uh we we do

play a small role but you guys do all the hard work I'm not sure when you find time to sleep but I'm sure you do at some moment but uh we wish you all the best as you move on to the next phase of your your life's journey and uh hope everything just goes well for you so keep shining congratulations [Applause] thank you Mrs Jenkins um and we are going to go ahead and move on to item three uh C District update from our superintendent thanks so much president Brad you're welcome M here we are this is a busy time of year so I you're welcome to check out any one of the screens uh we'll be sharing some highlights so um we always start with some of our youngest Learners so uh as as

we know many of our students here came up through those years and maybe we'll see some future uh future finalists come who will be in uh here in another 10 or 12 years being honored so we start out with some um adorable kiddos in first grade over at Hayes in Miss piers's class um they were learning about special American symbols and they started with one of the most recognizable um the American flag and spent some time um learning about that and writing about that as well and then we move over to Mrs Allen's class over at kulage um they are on their final math unit of second grade um working on fractions and their proper names I don't know about you but I think fractions used to be somewhere in around the fourth grade so

uh here our second graders are getting started and uh and they look pretty happy about it I have to say sometimes fractions can be scary but they look uh they look excited to get going and this may be look like a throwback picture but it is uh all of it is a number of our second graders from Kennedy Elementary as we've shared with you um we've had the wonderful support of the foundation of uh the Leonia Historical Society um the MacGyver Foundation who have supported many of our uh second grade uh classes going to Green meat for the day they visit the one room Schoolhouse they dress in in the spirit of uh that time and they learn with some of the old McGuffy readers and using slates and uh all different aspects of um

learning back in the day so thanks to rpt and especially to the Leonia Historical Society we have had so many second graders uh heading over there this spring it has been a joy to watch them and we have some of our students I don't know if you remember our board team when we were visiting lctc we went into one of the rooms and they were designing the stuffed animals based on the students drawing so um what we have here is we have um some of our on the left you'll our third grade students from Mrs Duff's class uh designed uh p and Drew pictures of no this was in first grade I'm sorry the first graders um Drew concept drawings of a stuffed animal and our students in the advanced graphic design class made 3D

drawings and then built the stuffed animals and then brought them to our students um and then we also had students from third grade um who wrote stories and then we had our Advanced graphic design illustrating them so just a great Synergy between our students at lctc who are so tremendously talented as our our teachers there um pair up with our students at Buchanan and Hoover to create uh these these wonderful keepsakes for our students so great great partnership to see that come to life uh here we have at Cooper um we had our students have an opportunity to learn about Braille and learn about orientation and Mobility such an important piece of our working toward um our sense of belonging in all of our schools um so it was a great way for our students

to learn about and Advocate um for being more inclusive of people who are visually impaired so thanks to Mr Crawford and Mr dreim and student of nefi um who taught Mrs Tim's class about all of these pieces as it relates to um Braille and the use of that in visual impairment education and here we have um just we had just a wonderful time last week at Webster visiting with the family 2 classes uh they just completed their project-based learning ADV Venture um so they had an opportunity to invite um many of our board members members of our cabinet team and uh members from across the community um to come in and to gather information about four weeks ago um about an adventure or a trip you would like to take you gave the students a

budget and a little bit about what you would like to do while you were there and then they spent time um during their project working with two or three classmates and creating an entire trip with a an itinerary a budget a packing list um and everything from the Airbnb at which you would stay to the flights you would take um and they all stayed within budget I have to say some people were a little bit more generous with their budget than others um but it was a great opportunity to see that come to life so um I know many of us around the table and our cabinet table had a chance to participate and what a great adventure that was for our students at Webster so thank you for having us and we had boy

it seems like quite a while ago but I think it was actually only a few weeks ago that we celebrated all of our students who were participating in youth make a difference as you know we have the most amazing ptas and PTSA Council um and each year they part they ask students to participate in youth making a difference taking on some sort of service project um and we had over a thousand students participate this year so that was fantastic um they had their the Showcase we had at uh Churchill and then they were treated to um a show by a uh magician and then had some uh cookies and punch and it was just a great great evening here you see some of our beautiful families we had over 200 families participate in a wonderful

fundraiser for the LPS Education Foundation it's called portraits on the porch um we do this in the spring and in the fall and I want to give a shout out to our three volunteer photographers um Mrs O'Brien Mrs Jenkins um and Emily who is behind the camera uh over in our control room um and all of our volunteers from the foundation led by our president Mrs Jarvis um we had many many folks uh pitching in and we loved to see our families thankfully most of the day held off with uh the rain um but as you can see there was some just they leave with about 5 to 10 high quality images um so they have short appointments um but some great uh great sites to see so thank you for that support from our

community and we participated uh all of the cabinet members participated in sub a staffer so as you know this was another fundraiser for the foundation and we offered the opportunity for folks to buy raffle tickets either for themselves uh to earn a half day off or for their child's teacher or for a colleague um and we had many many many people buy tickets um and so our cabinet team filled in I had the opportunity to fill in in for Mrs rentis the wonderful secretary at Buchanan um so she could enjoy some time off Mrs Jenkins and Mrs O'Brien were working on some um reading groups here you see in the center uh Mr Francis uh did not change too much but had a pretty exciting day as principal of UK Canon Elementary um and all

of our cabinet team uh either have or will be um subbing for one of our hardworking staff over the next couple of weeks so it's been a lot of fun and we have certainly have such a great appreciation for all of the different roles within our school district and we are we are in that end of the year fun uh there is something going on almost every evening in this district and so um from art shows and uh music concerts and barbecues and family fun it has just been tremendous so we'll share some pictures um as we go through here on the next one you'll see in the center um we shared this in the LPS link we sent last week um but thanks to the grant written by Mrs O'Brien we received a $1.8

million Grant and one of the things that our kindergarten through fifth grade students have had the opportunity to do is each pick out five books that they will bring home for the summer that will be Theirs to keep thanks to a portion of this grant so there were many popup Book Fairs um going on while we also had concerts and art shows and it was just a tremendous opportunity to see our stem students in action as well as um each of the specials areas we were also able to highlight uh the leavon Career Technical Center for governor Whitmer when she was here um earlier this month she had the opportunity to tour four of the programs in including the new robotic Center um she also held a press conference and talked about um her proposal

for free community college for high school graduates and we had a parent and a student um who also spoke uh about their experiences for their child's experience at lctc and their plan to move on to Schoolcraft College and the partnership we have between lctc um in Schoolcraft so it was wonderful to host the governor in such a proud moment for our staff at lctc and principal Lindsay gray and speaking of lctc we were there with the chamber board um as you know we have a wonderful relationship um and we've had a longtime presence on the board of directors Mrs Jenkins currently serves on that for us um and we were able to host one of the Leonia Westland Chamber of Commerce meetings um at lctc they took a tour as well they were so impressed

these are folks from every element of business within our community um and I can't tell you they were absolutely wowed with the offerings that our students have at lctc and the work that our staff does there as well as just the partnership that we have with so many of them to host our students not only from LC TC for instance in the career intern program but also through FTP ltp and our Western Wing Skill Center um a number of these folks uh partner with our our schools and our students to be host um for students in those programs as well so we're going to share just a few quick spring sports highlights but we decided that we would save most of them for June because we have um a number of students who are moving

on to the state level um we have some of our hardw work students in track and field we will highlight um these athletes more in our next District update but we wanted to share a few pictures with you over the weekend lots of success um in track and field um we also want to congratulate TJ colia he is the first player in Franklin's baseball history to reach 100 Varsity wins during his his four years pretty amazing isn't it Mr 100 it's pretty exciting um it's some other sports uh highlights we have um our Churchill baseball KL AA East champions and I believe they're playing Novi right now and if I am correct I believe they are up they won W they won let's give a whoo wo all right that's a big that's a big

big win so uh that's an exciting night for them and our um Stevenson girls soccer also klaa Champions um and our Churchill uh girls track and field and boys track and field both East Division Champions so um some huge huge victories um in Spring Sports and we'll tell you more about that at our next District highlight it was wonderful to have Lily Bowen sing the national anthem prior to one of our recent JV games it is such a treat um to hear our students uh sing the national anthem or lead us in the pledge so we'd love to highlight that uh at the honors night at Stevenson last week we had a chance to see the brisy award winners um which is the highest um award uh that's can be the top athletic honor to

receive um for a student athlete at Stevenson so we had Lila cram and John Toth um and Mr Muscat our uh athletic director had a chance to share some wonderful highlights about both of them who are multiport um athletes and great in the classroom as well our unified botche ball is uh just continues to be remember that that program started a couple of years ago um as a way to grow our unified offerings for our students and um it has definitely been a joy uh Franklin recently hosted a unified Bachi game between Churchill and Berkeley um a beautiful day for Bachi and lots of smiling faces thanks to all of our student athletes who participate and our peers um who work together Franklin was has has been a longtime host of special Olympics and it

takes if you've ever been involved many many many volunteers so we had so many Franklin students and family members and staff participate to make uh the annual Special Olympics at Franklin just such a success so another great day that we've had we've had a beautiful spring um and here are just some of the smiling volunteers um who were needed to make this event so successful and a few Kudos before we wrap up um as you know we've had a great opportunity across the district we've seen our ptas um celebrate and our parents celebrate our amazing staff um just want to give a shout out to those ptas who have really treated our staff in such a special way um this past week and as you know our Board of Education approved the wonderful spiritwear offerings

and we have almost 1600 staff that have made those selections and those will be arriving this week um so we're excited to be able to uh to share those as just a small token of our appreciation for our team across the district another way to recognize our our staff is through the star awards um so again the LPS Education Foundation our awesome Partners um have invited anyone in the district or in the community to uh make a donation and issue a Star Award to a deserving staff member we have had such a response this spring if you follow our social media at all or the LPS Education Foundation um they have recognized literally hundreds of Staff members across our district so it is great to see those come through each week and a big big

news for Hayes Elementary School if you have not already heard um they've been named a 2024 Green Ribbon School by the US Department of Education they are one of only two schools in the state of Michigan so we've seen Green Schools come forward and Evergreen status come forward um this is the first time we have had a school named as a national green ribbon school um one of only 40 Across the Nation so um Hayes was cited for their Innovative efforts that positively impact the environment um we are tremendously proud of our huskies and we just want to give a huge shout out um to Mrs Laos who is our art teacher at Hayes and such a committed member of the team of the Green Team and leads the students in really creative ways to

Elementary and Hayes Elementary um they were noted for increasing student access engagement and achievement in our new stem program so I just want to thank again the board of education for supporting this endeavor this past year to change significantly change the structure of our elementary day to add the fifth special to add collaboration time for our staff and to build this opportunity for our students and all of our uh stem teachers um who have done such a tremendous job in learning this new program and and making it come alive for our students we're just about done folks this is this is it this is the final slide in case you're uh hungry and haven't had dinner um so we had a great thank you come through from Stephenson and we want to share that with

you so Stephenson asked one of their Spartan Alum to create this video as a thank you to our Community for support and to the board for supporting the new weight room um we've had a chance to visit some of those weight rooms they're absolutely spectacular um they are not only for our student athletes but for our students ac across the board in our P fit classes in our physical education classes so they have all been completely renovated top to bottom and outfitted with brand new equipment so I'm going to invite Mrs Jenkins as we wrap up uh this section to click on the video and share that with us or Mrs O'Brien well the nice thing about leavon public schools is that we utilize the weight room in a many different ways we have classes

here every hour we also have 30 plus different sports and over 60 teams that use this facility it truly is a facility that gets used from morning till night and having a new new facility like we have the excitement is a big buzz around the school and we're redesigning some of the curriculum for our health and PE classes that will be using this we started a female weights class because of this area so we have a whole population of the school that is never been down here and because of the buzz and the new equipment and the things we're able to do uh all the girls in the school are able to take this class and be down here as well it's fully booked and we're ready to go next semester they are so excited

I've seen more kids in this facility now than I have seen since I've been here this weight room compared to the old one is much better because it gives us more space we have the opportunity to get more kids in more student athletes can uh work out at the same time and and the way it's it's set up for function it works flawlessly for our kids this weight room compared to the old weight room really there's no comparison this weight room really compares to college and and pro weight rooms every one of our teams every one of our student athletes has the same basic core Foundation needs but then it really gets specific from a hockey player to a football player to a volleyball player to a gymnast they all have different needs and this

weight room is really going to allow us to Target those different areas and to Target those different training exercises this weight room is a game changer for all of our students and our student athletes we've kind of transitioned from the machine workouts to the stationary stuff that you see behind me this is all state-of-the-art stuff they're excited to be here they're excited to get going they're excited to try try something new the football team utilizes the weight room by coming in here we we use it multiple times a week so the way it's been designed we have multiple racks so that we can get at least 50 kids in here in a Time the volleyball program uses the weight room in season every week we have a program Wednesday and all levels come in and

work together and train with one of our strength and conditioning coaches the hockey team utilizes our space here to build the foundation really for what the hockey player needs and teach them the right things about lifting weight and building muscle and I'm excited to see the gains that it gives us out on the fields and the courts and the tracks and so forth I think this is going to help our Athletic program here at Stevenson High School I'm most thankful for the fact that the leavon public schools invested the the time and money into providing this it is truly a game Cher for our students and our student athletes I would like to thank everybody in Leon Public Schools who made this happen Mrs oist and all the administration over at central office Mr Francis

Mr E our current ad you know Mr Muscat and Mr maone our principal here and the the cabinet the Board of Education the community for the the approval of the bond that allowed this great facility to take place for us I hope they know how much of a difference this makes to our student athletes to our athletic programs and our school Community because it really makes a big difference so thank you from the bottom of my heart without your support we would not be able to uh be in this space so thank you very much it's really great I'll wrap up on on that wonderful note and just um just to note that this this same work has taken place at every high school so Franklin High School Churchill High School and Stevenson High School

all have those amazing renovated spaces for our student use thank you and yes we can't thank our community enough uh with the bonds and and the programming that we were able to offer this so it's it's really wonderful and with that we are going to take a five to 10 minute break um and to uh congratulate our honores so we will be back shortly thank you e e e welcome back uh if you missed the first front end of the meeting we just recognized a uh some wonderful students from the National Merit Scholars and deca Champions and uh now we're back and we are going on to item 3D uh written Communications do I have any written Communications from anyone I see none uh going on to 3E response to Prior audience Communications do we

have any prior audience Communications seeing none we will move on to item 3F audience uh Communications audience Communications is a time set aside for the board to listen to the concerns of our community it's not a question and answer period but rather a time set aside for us to listen thoughtfully to your concerns each speaker has up to three minutes to speak um Vice President Johnson will be our timekeeper tonight and when you hear the tone go off we ask that you politely finish and wrap up your comments we will listen to audience Communications for about 15 minutes if it goes any longer than that because we have our business meeting to conduct we will listen to the remainder of those Communications right before hearing from board members um the board is responsible for three

main roles hiring and evaluating our superintendent adopting policies that give the district direction to set the priorities and achieve its goals and also adopting and overseeing our budgets if your comments pertain to those three roles and you are looking for a response um on your blue sheet you will expect to hear a response from the members of our board um if your comments pertain to anything else or what we call the day-to-day operations of the school SCH district and you are looking for um a response you would uh expect to hear from our superintendent or a member of her cabinet team um so um thank you for being here tonight and addressing your concerns before the board and with that I have several blue slips here um the first one is uh Janine Martinez welcome

Janine and if uh up at the on the mic microphone there you tap it and it turns green and then you'll be ready there we go good evening school board with also other leonan public school members and all those present and watching would like to introduce myself my name is Jennie Martinez I'm a Leonia resident for over 30 years I had three daughters that graduated from Stevenson I am the head coach and manager for leavon United girls high school hockey team all three years of existence Seven Seasons just finished our last season which two of my daughters played on the team and proud to say the team is back-to-back State finalist in 2022 and 2023 banners hanging proudly in the our home rink adag today I'm R uping all three groups girls hockey figure skating

public support encouragement we have received I personally thankful to all of the above on the support amount of work that has been involved in this proposal and process getting voted in and approved is bigger than all of us as well as the future will look brighter for Leonia Public Schools athletic clubs to earn their varsity letter award jacket which I know they all will wear proudly thank you thank you our next speaker is Colleen beero good evening Colleen hello hello thank you to all the board trustees and the district leaders for your time and your consideration I'm Colleen Badger I'm a mother of two daughters who attend coolage elementary and I serve as um the secretary and outgoing secretary and diversity equity and inclusion chairperson for their PTA um the last board meeting I attended

here was a year ago and coincidentally it was the meeting where there was a heartfelt tribute shared um in honor of in memory of Joshua reading who is an LPS student who was clearly loved and continues to be missed by many um today would have been Josh's 15th birthday so I'd like to take a moment to honor him in my comments um I spoke with his mother and she shared that she wants his memory to stay alive and to acknowledge that kids are struggling often fighting internal batt mental battles black and brown kids in particular are facing complex and compounded challenges that need to be acknowledged and accounted for through tangible student Le action oriented approaches across the district but I particularly want to highlight the need for support for students at holes Middle School

um I want to offer a trigger warning because I'm going to mention suicide and violence and next statements um in the past year alone they've witnessed students at homes have witnessed the loss of Joshua by Suicide um a violent racially motivated attack of a fellow student at the recreation center um a seventh grade student physically and psychologically intimidated by a bully who was getting right in her face and calling her the n-word repeatedly for weeks before she found the strength to report it um most recently a gun intended for self harm brought to school now that that's just things that I'm aware of um there may even be more things going on but that's a lot to process and cope with not just for the students but especially for the students also for the families

and the teachers all of us are grappling with this um particularly for black and brown students and families that breeds a sense of lacking safety and lacking belonging um the black parents that I've spoken with have expressed fears about what their children will face at homes um they want to see supports tailored to kids facing racial dis bias discrimination and ignorance at school and in the community they also want to see teachers and staff that are more representative of student demographics to provide added layers of support and shared life experiences um to students education um I've heard of some positive steps that have taken place at fraud with the principal an Administration who's informed and empowered in Dei work um which is really encouraging to hear um It's My Hope and request that the administration

and board ensure that this work is prioritized across the district in real meaningful ways um and just not allowing um political lines to sweep this issue away from us but to continue to show up to have these important conversations and take these important actions that are required to make LPS more inclusive and safe where every student truly feels they belong so thank you thank you our next uh speaker this evening is uh Monica is it D Dy yeah good evening good evening hi I'm Monica hi Monica I'm a parent of three LPS students and I'm Jen I'm a parent also I just came with her we're supporting each other for the same thing and I'm probably next on the list oh okay yes I'm here uh to speak about the Holmes incident with the gun

that was brought into holes a couple weeks ago I'm a concerned parent regarding this issue as we know uh gun was brought into Franklin last year two knives have been brought into two other schools since the homes issue um in the past couple weeks I and I I am aware of the security measurements that Leonia has taken with the extra security officers extra Mental Health Resources mental health hline which are all amazing resources however the weapons are still making into our building I'm concerned because I do not want to be here and speaking about this after a conse after something has happened and we are here to intervene because of a crisis I would like LPS to be Progressive on this issue and to do something about this before something happens thank you thank you

and our next speaker I have G Garder oh that was her okay all right thank you thank you all for being here this evening our next item um will be item number four our consent agenda um may I have a motion please president Bradford Mrs Burton move that the Board of Education of the lonia public schools School District approve the following consent agenda items as recommended by the superintendent 5A minutes of the regular meeting of April 22nd 2024 7e approval of of 2024 2025 leases 7f approval of purchase of Cofe paper 7g approval of LPS merchandise Pur purchase 7h approval of Wayne Risa budget for 2024 2025 7i approval of appointment of auditor 7j approval of food service purchase support we have a motion by Mrs Burton supported by Mr Johnson for the consent agenda

celebrate and and bring his family but I did want to share a little bit about Ben with you guys this evening uh Ben is no stranger to LPS he has been here for just about 20 years and in that time he has met many people in many schools he served as a teacher at Randolph McKinley Hayes and Webster he's also served as the aad facilitator as well as the K12 Math and Science coordinator uh the role he serves in now is our assessment coordinator for the entire District so Ben is the man that we all go to when we need data and we need it fast and he knows uh that data inside and out and he is he is brilliant when it comes to compiling it in a way that we can all understand

us us lay folk when it comes to to all the numbers so this evening I'm I'm very excited to bring forth Ben who is a very kind heart and he is very very passionate about bringing an experience to school that all kids have a place all kids feel welcome and they are all uh a member of a community where they can do great things so I'll gush about him a little more next month but uh also his professional experience he has a bachelor of Elementary education and an administrative certificate from Eastern Michigan as well as a master of curriculum from U ofm Dearborn so I bring to you Ben Hiller this evening for the next principal of Rosedale Elementary thank you Mrs Keats are there any uh questions or comments from the board well we

colleagues um and one of the things that has been just so powerful for us as we've had folks both within the district and out of the district join the student services team is to be able to bring that fresh lens and that fresh set of eyes to the work that we do and I was so impressed with the things um that Shannon shared with us that um she sees areas where we can continue to grow as a district and I think you know how truly proud We Are of our student services department they are second to none um the work that they do on behalf of our students with special needs um and caring about the mental health needs of all children in this District um the social emotional needs of our students is um

without question and it's unwavering and so to know that that happens but to also have someone come in and say here are some areas where we can continue to grow to me that's very very impressive so she not only brings with her a wealth of experience but also um has a vision going forward of of where we can continue um to excel in this area so we are thrilled um to bring this recommendation forward to you this evening um and so pleased that she has joined our team in Leonia Public Schools thank you Mrs oist all right uh we will continue we have a motion by Mr Johnson supported by Mrs Burton for the appointment of student services coordinator um Mrs aosta would you take the role Please Mr Johnson yes Mrs yes Mrs Frank

of our district um uh I I I don't frequently call out anyone but I have to say that uh a special thank you to Lars rifters who was not only my son's teachers but also coach and was an is a gentleman who has been very very impactful for many many students in our district um I wish all of the folks on this list uh a very blessed retirement you will be very missed um it is it is always so very Bittersweet we we wish you well and and we are sad to see you go at the same time uh but uh but blessings to you in your your new chapter of your lives thank you Mrs Burton I think we Echo all those sentiments uh We wish all those on this list congratulations for your

retirement best wishes oh Mrs oist yes I I will just also make a quick comment and it and we we face this every month as you shared um where we have folks that we have known for the majority of our career if not U many and as you see the folks on this list um have up to 35 and 40 years of experience individually um some a bit newer um but as we go through especially at this time of the year um you begin to see people that you you started your career with that you've worked with for many many years um folks who have held leadership positions um such as Mrs David and our and our um Leonia Education Association we have folks on here a pair of professionals learning interventionists uh counselors teachers

um Etc and social workers and when you think about the impact and um from when these folks were hired until they're leaving now um it really is an indelible impact that we've had um that they have had on our students on our colleagues on our processes within our school district um so this this group of folks uh this time of year often brings many many familiar names and I'd just like to personally wish each and every one of them um the very very best as they retire thank you Mrs oist we have a motion by Mrs Frank supported by Mrs bfield for retirement U Mrs aosta would you take the role please Mrs Frank yes Mrs bonnerfield yes Mrs Burton yes Mr Johnson yes Mrs Jarvis yes Mrs aosta says yesid president Bradford yes and

that motion carries thank you moving on to item seven our business matters we have item a the approval of purchase of electrical switch for Leonia ECC may I have a motion please president Bradford Mrs Jarvis move that the Board of Education of the Leonia Public Schools School District approve the recommendation from its owner representative plant Moran Realo to approve the funds for a change order for green line electrical located in Plymouth Michigan for a purchase and installation of an electrical switch at the Leonia Early Childhood Center in the amount of $130,100 ,79 support we have a motion by Mrs Jarvis supported by Mrs bonafield uh for the approval purchase of electrical switch for Leonia ECC and we will hear from Mr Francis good evening everybody good evening this is a topic that has been discussed

to the board on uh several occasions this was something that while not in the original bid package for the Leonia Early Childhood Center came about after after the realization of the full breadth and scope of the power uh and the changes that occurred out of requirements um to Source power via nio into the Early Childhood Center so this switch is something that is is required it's a major safety component uh of the use of the the turning off the powers Etc at the at the uh site at the building so we do recommend the board approv this amount uh in order for us to continue with finishing off the electrical service at the Early Childhood Center thank you Mr Francis any questions or comments from the board Mrs Burton um for the benefit of those

uh listening in tonight who may not have tuned into to the committee of the whole uh first off there is a len there was a lengthy discussion at the committee of the whole so if you want a lot of detail on it go back and listen to that one but just so folks so this is not a typical electrical switch that we're talking about uh this is something Mr Francis correct me if I'm if I'm misspeaking on this but uh this is something that uh would be utilized on a very rare instance and it would be uh utilized if if we didn't have this which we would have to be calling DTE in for a a power uh emergency at the building so this that's accurate yes we we would U this is for the

safety of the leavon public schools um the the maintenance staff to go in there otherwise you need to schedule with DTE DTE needs needs to come in in a special suit protective gear for them to turn down the the power on that on that building so this is a pretty important uh item for us from from that standpoint because as we all know lonan public schools has its own maintenance team and and we also have contractors and subcontractors come in and it's just an important piece for safety as well as scheduling okay and if I understand correctly uh we this is not something that's required at every building but we do have these at a few of our buildings that have unique power needs yes also correct okay all right thank you you're welcome thank

you Mrs Burton any other comments seeing none we have a motion by Mrs Jarvis supported by Mrs bonafield for the approval of purchase of electrical switch for the leavon ECC Mrs aosta would you take the role please Mrs Jarvis yes Mrs bonafield yes Mr Johnson yes Mrs Frank yes Mrs Burton yes Mrs aosta says yes president Bradford yes and that motion carries moving to item 7B the approval of central office Paving contractor award Mrs Burton oh may I have a motion please I'm ahead of myself wow that's that's rare that's Mrs Burton thank you mooved that the Board of Education of the Leonia Public Schools School District approve the recommendation from the owner's representative plant Moran Realo to approve Nel Paving company located in Novi Michigan for the central office phase one Paving project in

the total amount of $98,700 move that the Board of Education of the Leonia Public Schools School District approve the recommendation from the owner's representative plant Moran Realo to approve Nagel Paving Company located in Novi Michigan for the central office phase one Paving project in the total amount of $98,700 which includes contingency and authorize the superintendent or her designate to negotiate and execute final contracts support we have a motion by Mrs Burton supported by Mrs Jarvis for the approval of central office Paving contractor award and we're going to hear from Mr Francis thank you very much this is a syncing fund project a planned syncing fund project that uh we are looking to begin phase one and we're calling this phase one because we believe we'll probably have five or six phases over the coming Summers

to do the paving project here at the board office complex or the administration complex um this this area gets heavily used by our largest Vehicles not only our buses which is obviously quite a bit of of um weight and traffic on the certain paths that we go through and in the parking lot that they are parked in but we also have all of our maintenance Vehicles here that come back and forth Etc so um we went around and did the buildings that had the school buildings after the during the 2013 Bond initiative when we would complete a building just to give the folks listening at home a little bit of background after we would do the renovations in the 2013 Bond initiative we would follow up in those buildings and repair and replace the parking

lots and the asphalt around those buildings now it's time for the central office complex to have its its work done it really does uh need to be uh replaced and updated so uh I bring to you again through the syncing fund phase one uh and we do recommend Nagle Paving they were low responsible bidder we've done quite a bit of work with Nagel um and they' they have do very good work not only for LPS but but all around they have a very solid reputation we work well with them thank you Mr Francis any questions or comments from the board seeing none we have a motion by Mrs Burton supported by Mrs Jarvis for the approval of central office Paving contractor award Mrs aosta would you take the role please Mrs Burton yes Mrs Jarvis

yes Mr Johnson yes Mrs bonafield yes Mrs Frank yes Mrs aosta says yes president Bradford yes and that motion carries moving to item 7 C the approval of purchase of leavon ECC wireless access points may I have a motion please president Bradford Mr Johnson move that the Board of Education of the Leonia Public Schools School District approved the recommendation to purchase wireless access points for the lonia Early Childhood Center from Sentinel Technologies located in Leonia Michigan in the total amount of $4 49,3 56 support we have a motion by Mr Johnson supported by Mrs bonafield for the um approval of purchase of Leonia Early Childhood Center wireless access points and we're going to hear once again from Mr Francis thank you president Bradford this is a 2021 Bond purchase this has been planned for and

set aside within the budgetary lines in the it uh budget from the 21 bond to purchase these items we have wireless access points in this room and in rooms throughout this building and in rooms throughout our schools well the Leonia Early Childhood Center is as many of you saw earlier today and I'm going to take a moment to plug that it's looking beautiful and it's we're very excited we just had the staff from Jackson a large portion of the staff come for a tour Saturday morning so they can put eyes on the space again well if they want to be able to use their wireless devices in there we're going to need to put these these access points in so this again is a planned item uh the 49356 is the number to be able

to purchase these we'll have these installed the infrastructures there so um we do recommend the board approved this so we can finish off that technology piece in the building thank you Mr Francis any questions or comments from the board seeing none we have a motion by Mr Johnson supported by Mrs bonafield for the approval of purchase of Leonia Early Childhood Center wireless access points Mrs aosta would you take the role Please Mr Johnson yes Mrs bonafield yes Mrs Burton yes Mrs Frank yes Mrs Jarvis yes Mrs aosta says yes president Bradford yes and the motion carries moving to item 7D the approval of purchase of classroom technology may I have a motion please president Bradford Mrs aosta move that the Board of Education of the Leonia Public Schools School District approved the recommendation for the

purchase and installation of interactive short throw projectors and document cameras from digital age Technologies located in Davidson Michigan for a total cost of 1,924 57 which includes contingency support we have a motion by Mrs aosta supported by Mr Johnson for the approval of purchase of classroom technology and we will hear from Surprise Mr Francis uh this is a another planned project out of the 2021 Bond initiative another IT project which we have in the budget in their line items this has always been something that we were ready to to to do during during the years of this newest Bond Renovations of buildings so we in 10 years ago now uh when we had the the last Bond initiative put in some state-of-the-art classroom technology a short through short through don't even know what that is

short throw well it's their past tense we're getting rid of them so they're their past tense um the short throw interactive short thow projectors and the um the document cameras so we're now coming back and believe it or not that started 10 years ago and that's technology we will be coming back to replace these with the uh more up-to-date versions of both of those items throughout the district and throughout the classrooms in all the buildings so uh it's a it's a big number but we're talking about hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of classrooms and short throws and document cameras um so we are recommending digital age Technologies another company that the board I'm sure is very familiar with they've done quite a bit of work uh in the last Bond in this Bond uh throughout

our buildings they know our buildings well and again something that's been planned we're ready for and we'll be getting some updated uh technology in the classrooms with this purchase thank you Mr Francis any questions or comments I just want to make one um I as I understand the equipment the new equipment we're getting uh does not use uh the light bulbs in those projectors anymore it's switched to laser is that correct that is correct yes which I think is really great um that'll be a a real Improvement for our classrooms um and I also want to take a moment to thank uh I know we do this quite a bit but to thank our community for the support of the bond money um this is a big number you know $1.9 million but it's so

important uh to get all these latest equipment and everything into our classrooms and we're so appreciative that we have a community that supports us um on these bonds so we really really appreciate that so um we have a motion by Mrs aosta supported by Mr Johnson for the approval of purchase of classroom technology um Mrs a coaster would you take the role Please Mr Johnson yes Mrs bonnerfield yes Mrs Jarvis yes Mrs Burton yes Mrs Frank yes Mrs aosta says yes president Bradford yes and that motion carries we are going to go ahead and move on we're going all the way to uh eight instruction matters and we have 8A the approval of 35j Grant purchases may I have a motion please president Bradford uh Mrs Frank move that the Board of Education of the

lonia public school school school district approved the purchase of books training and material support to support literacy development in preschool through fifth grade from Scholastic in jerson City Missouri fet in Westchester Illinois Amazon in Seattle Washington Benchmark in new Rell New York Mrs Nelson's Book Company in panoma California and and book Source in St Louis Missouri hamay in Culver City kids discover in Columbus Ohio and and Isme in Sterling Heights Michigan for a total purchase of $547,500 24 cents support support oh okay all right Mrs burton all right we have a motion by Mrs Frank supported by Mrs Burton for the approval of 35j Grant purchases and we are going to hear from Mrs O'Brien good evening good evening Mrs O'Brien such a happy purchase isn't this this is a happy purchase as um superintendent

ois shared during the uh update we applied and received a grant from the state of Michigan for $1.8 million for literacy development um for preschool through fifth grade and this grant um will provide tier one material some of our Core Curriculum materials an opportunity for us to update those things for us to provide training on Orton Gillingham and morphology and some of the materials that go with that um in addition to providing all of our students uh preschool through fifth grade five books to take home this summer and so this particular purchase is some of the first things we'll be utilizing that new um grant for is purchasing new books for our K through 4 modules so new inhand books you know we use digital and um physical books in our modules we will also

be using this purchase to um train some additional support teachers and new teachers next year in Orton Gillingham and morphology plus providing our teachers with some of the um replaceable materials that come with that and then that $292,000 worth of books for our our students to take home for this summer so that total purchase of $547,500 24 is just the beginning of the spending for this wonderful grant that we've been um awarded oh my goodness Mrs O'Brien that is awesome we're so thrilled does anybody have any uh comments Mrs pfield I'm just so happy to hear that our young readers are going to be able to take books home that they've chosen um that they're going to be able to take home over the summer um and read over and over again and hopefully with

a parent or a sibling um and just really enjoy them I think this is going to be huge and I'm excited to see in the fall I know we talked at the committee of the whole about possibly seeing some improvement in our summer learning loss which happens to all kids sure um and that this is going to help uh some of that and I just it's so important to have books in the hands of young readers and it doesn't take that many books to really make a difference yes we're we're very lucky that our students get to utilize this grant money to choose five of their own books and our schools our principles have done a Yen's work in a very short amount of time since we got this grant in order to put up

set up Book Fairs and all kinds of different ways for students to choose books and I think that we need to also recognize uh you Mrs obrien that this was a grant that's been kind of lingering out there and then all of a sudden they pulled the trigger and you and your team had to um buckle down in a very short period of time we got the Grant and then the teachers had a very short turnaround to make sure that our kids can uh uh take advantage of that grant for for this next summer so um it it's been a quick turnaround all around for everyone and we appreciate the extra work thank you my pleasure thank you Mr Johnson thank you president perhaps Mrs bfield sto stole some of my thunder sorry but um

you know we want to thank you for the effort that you and your team put in uh to tr uh trace this this grant uh and we know that you're not the only one uh our staff uh uh continually looks for grants for our kids um that's what makes us such a great District so thank you to your team uh for following up on this you're welcome my pleasure Mrs Burton I'll following up and along that same line I'm not sure if if everyone in the public caught it but this was a $1.8 million Grant um first off periodically we hear of of folks suggesting that we we go for Grants we do on a really regular basis um many many many folks in our staff uh apply for Grants many are awarded the grants

um and we are thrilled and we are very proud that's that's one of the many things that makes our staff phenomenal um they go above and beyond this happens to be I I believe this is the largest Grant at least in in my 15 years of service on the board $1.8 million is a huge amount of money uh for literacy for our prek through fifth grade um it's just a really really big deal and I don't want that lost on everybody we have a a lot of numbers that come across this desk in a voting meeting but $1.8 million grant for Literacy for our kiddos for extra above and beyond literacy is huge so again along with all all the comments of my my fellow board members thank you for and to your whole team

for going above and beyond this is a big big deal [Applause] Mrs Jarvis thank you I just wanted to say that our board has a priority of student achievement and improving student achievement and one of the best ways to improve student achievement is to instill in each child a love of reading and one of the best ways to get a love of reading is to read books that you like so the ability for students to pick out five books that they like books that will interest them and and help them develop a love of reading books they can take home and start building their own library and we know that there are some families where they don't have that um so this is probably one of the most important ways that we can influence student

achievement by getting our kids to read books that they like uh what a phenomenal way to use those dollars I I just can't say enough it thank you so much for applying for the grant and I'm thrilled that that we were able to make such a tremendous use of these dollars and I look forward to seeing what kind of books our little guys pick out um I just I would keep gushing for an hour I agree Mrs a Costa just a snippet because everything's been covered already by my colleagues but I just wanted to say onetime dollars with long-term impact um what a fantastic way to do that thank you thank you thank you Mrs aosta I do have one quick question how how um long do we have to spend that Grant so it

it ends correct yes we have to spend these funds by next fall so the fall of 25 September awesome piece of cake yeah we we can manage that we'll be able to do that thank you so much Mrs O'Brien to you and all your team for this wonderful Grant we're just really excited um we have a motion by Mrs Frank supported by Mrs Burton for the approval of 35j Grant purchases Mrs aosta would you take the role please Mrs Frank yes Mrs Burton yes Mrs bonafield yes Mrs Jarvis yes Mr Johnson yes Mrs aosta says yes president Bradford yes and that motion carries moving on to item 8 B the approval of world history textbook adoption and purchase may have a motion please president Bradford Mrs bonafield move that the Board of Education of the

leavon Public Schools School District approved the purchase of classroom sets of History Alive world connections by TCI publishing located in Mountain View California digital and physical textbooks for high school world history courses for total amount of and six years of teacher digital licenses will be provided at no cost to the district support we have a motion by Mrs Bonfield supported supported by Mrs aosta for the approval of world history textbook adoption and purchase and we'll hear from Mrs O'Brien again thank you um this recommendation comes from um Mrs Lindsay rouso our social studies coordinator and a team of teachers who looked at world history materials this past year um they looked at five different titles and piloted two they asked students what their thoughts were on the usability and the enjoyment of the lessons and

they are recommending TCI which stands for Teacher curriculum institute materials we have used this program this Publishing Company history alive geography alive we've we've adopted other textbooks from them um it is a very engaging uh publisher and so this is for our ninth grade world history classes and as you know we've moved to classroom sets of physical textbooks and then a digital license for each student these are six-year licenses and then all of the teacher materials are being provided for free this comes from our secondary textbook budget which has been supported by the Wayne County enhancement millage um um monies for the last seven years so thank you Mrs O'Brien any questions or comments okay seeing none uh we have a motion by Mrs bonafield supported by Mrs aosta for the approval of world history

textbook adoption and purchase Mrs aosta would you take the role please Mrs Bonfield yes Mrs aosta says yes Mrs Burton yes Mr Johnson yes Mrs Jarvis yes Mrs Frank yes president Bradford yes and that motion carries moving on to item eight c um the approval of expulsion of a secondary student may I have a motion please president Bradford Mrs Jarvis move that the Board of Education of the Leonia Public Schools School District expel one secondary student for violations of the Leonia Public Schools Board of Education policies support we have a motion by Mrs Jarvis supported by Mrs bonafield for the approval of a expulsion of a secondary student um Mrs aosta would you take the role please Mrs Jarvis yes Mrs bonnerfield yes Mrs Burton yes Mrs Frank yes Mr Johnson yes Mrs aosta says

yes president Bradford yes and that motion carries moving on to item nine hearing from board members item a we have a first reading of board policy instructional program I CFA curriculum guides and course outlines and for our first reading um we are going to hear who do we hear from here so we're g to go um we'll start with um Mrs O'Brien okay the first three and then Mr E2 and then HR and then Mr Green they do know which policies are there so if you're comfortable they'll just proceed in the order as listed that sounds wonderful thank you okay oh Mrs O'Brien yep so um the first policy this is the first reading of these policies and um each one of us will go through them we've gone over them in depth during the

study and the committee the whole on this first one actually the letters are out of order so it should be I CFA so on the cap sheet it says ifca but it's actually the other way around so I just want to make note of that so that we're all on the same page that that is not written correctly okay but as a first reading we're not voting on it so I think we can fix it for second reading yes um Mrs Burton we can fix it for second reading and uh and it's whatever policy is verbally read into the record not written into the record so we're we're okay okay so our first policy for our first readings tonight is instructional program I CFA curriculum guides and course outlines this is an update um from

1232014 and we uh went through the policy together and updated uh some of the uh language that we utilize today adding in state standards taught adding in our common assessments instead of um utilizing exams talking about the um curriculum guides will include the priority standards that will be assessed each uh quarter and then um just overall updating the um title of our department from curriculum Department to academic Services Department okay any any questions or comments on this first one I CF I CFA Mrs um Frank and just as we go through all of these we have had and and I think you said we have had substantial conversation about these policies we've worked them and tweaked them and so if there's not a lot of conversation tonight we have even though it's first reading we

have worked them over many many times yes yes and so we there has been many um discussion in in our committee of the whole and so if anybody wants further discussion or wants to see the rational for some of the changes they can watch the committee of the whole but we're not going to try to um rehash it tonight but um anyway so if you it seems like we're flying through these it's because we've had many many discussions about them thank you Mrs Frank our second policy is ID it was basic instructional program and it is from 2014 we're renaming it to educational programming and um we've updated the language of this board policy to um um make sure that we are talking about the programming designed for our preschoolers through postsecondary students and um

making sure that we meet state laws and curriculum um following curriculum and offerings and opportunities for our students any questions or comments on Ida okay seeing none uh we can go ahead and move on to go ahead idb yep so our next policy is ID DB instructional program it was um titled remedial education and this is from 1988 we've retitled it to multi-tiered System of supports is what um we call what we do to help students who are not quite at grade level and so this policy has been Rewritten and updated to make sure that it uh codifies what we do which is provide students with instructional and behavioral support so that those who needed time they get that time in order to meet grade level standards thank you any uh questions or comments I

just want to say I appreciate that because from 1988 to 2024 many many instructional programs have changed so thank you for uh updating that one no problem all right um thank you Mrs O'Brien we're going to go ahead and move on to uh the next first reading of board policy JN letter jackets letter Awards and scholarships and U Mr E2 is going to I think this one's mine right yeah this one is definitely yours definitely Mr E2 with an exclamation point on the end of it there you go yes this is policy JN uh we're looking to add letter jackets and letter Awards to company scholarships within this this is back from 2015 was reviewed in 2018 and then we took a closer look at it uh with number of stakeholder committees uh this year

uh we did add most recently from our last conversation the last paragraph on scholarships to this board policy and then accompanying this board policy will be administrative procedures and guidelines does anybody have any questions or comments on on the policy U Mrs Burton excuse me um just a huge thank you uh Mr V you you led this charge but there was an enormous team behind you of uh principles athletic directors par uh the athletic Council many many people lots of people gave input on it and you led this whole thing through what seemed insurmountable at the beginning to a a workable solution so thank you very much you're welcome thank you for the support yes any other questions or comments regarding this okay seeing none okay we can go on to item 9e uh the

first first reading of board policy uh Personnel gahb staff student relations and uh we're going to hear from Mr abati yes thank you very much so this is a a a new policy and it it you a lot of what is in here is is governed by professional ethics and and different pieces of board policy generally but we haven't had a place in policy that that kind of encapsulated these ideas uh in in one one spot and and was comprehensive and so this provides uh pretty specific guidelines for um for staff in terms of the relationships that are developed with students both in terms of uh inperson interactions and um and out of school interactions Etc um covers a lot of ground uh it makes it makes the professional boundaries very clear uh and appropriate

um I think it would be uh one would be hardpressed to not understand the expectations as an employee of L public schools in terms of how we relate with our students when you read through this policy so we think it uh we think it it it captures what needed capturing and it puts it in one place uh for reference thank you Mr Abate does anybody have any questions or comments regarding this policy okay all right seeing none we're going to go ahead and move on to uh 9 F the first reading of board policy personnel gahc uh digital Communications and uh we are going to hear from Mrs Keats yes thank you this also is a brand new policy we're bringing forth for the first reading tonight digital Communications uh this policy refers to a

much needed uh policy regarding social media and other uh ways that staff communicate when they are working within our walls of our schools and while they're representing Leonia Public Schools outside of their their day-to-day work obligations so once again this is a brand new policy we think it reflects uh the time that we are in with social media being so prevalent and available to all of our staff and students okay any questions or comments regarding this new policy uh digital Communications okay see none we are going to go ahead and move on to item uh 9g the first reading of board policy students J gfg um accidents and illness and we are going to hear from Mr Green on this one good evening good evening thank you president Bradford I wanted to make sure that

that item that first reading accidents and illness item J gfg okay all right then that completes our uh first readings um we're going to go ahead and move on to item 9h and that is the second reading of board policy board operations BHA code of ethics uh may I have a motion please president Bradford Mrs Burton move that the Board of Education of the Leonia Public Schools School District accept the recommendation of the policy committee and adopt board policy language per the attached document for the following board bylaw BHA code of ethics support oh we have a motion by Mrs Burton supported by Mrs aosta for the second reading of board policy board operations BHA code of ethics and we are going to hear from Mrs oist or is that or yes the board has

taken time to review um as as you do annually the um code of ethics and we are very proud to have a code of ethics for our Board of Education um I know that our board has um been generous to share this code of ethics document with other boards um as they worked to um finalize governance elements of their work um at our first reading the board did go through and read each of the items um publicly so we will not have to do that again um but once the board does take its vote and it uh this is updated um Mrs Juna has had this printed and we will have the board all sign the code of ethics policy and hang it proudly in the boardroom thank you Mrs oquist yes we do uh

review this um policy annually and it's it's important for all of us to um take a look at each bullet point and um and and make sure that we we all are on the same page uh regarding uh the code of ethics it's very important and we are very proud of this piece because it just brings us together as a board and helps us to um actually do our business in the best way possible possible for for our students for our public and everybody so um I'm proud to sit on this board with each and every one of us and I'm proud that we sign this every year because that just gives our commitment to uh the work that we do every day and how important it is so thank you to everybody who uh

signs this annually it's it does mean a lot to each of us I know so so thank you so I guess we'll vote on it and then we'll um sign it oh I guess other people can make comments too not just me okay Mr Johnson well thank you president Bradford you're welcome um this is really a reflection of our ongoing education we take classes continually and we only review this once a year but we bring back everything that we learn during the year and apply it to a reading of uh our code of ethics uh each segment that we go through something may change during the year and we learn that and that's why we go to those classes so again thank you all for your support and your continued education and it's really important

oist thank you I just wanted to make note um and I know that uh this was mentioned when we started but included in these policies either for first or second reading were some pretty significant areas of focus and uh oftentimes uh when when folks come up and share concerns via audience communication there isn't an immediate response because that is the way that that our our board works and um you as you president Bradford and prior presidents before you will often say the roles of the board and one of them is to set policy and Direction and there were some significant policies that we've reviewed including the updated bullying prevention policy um so we did hear from a few parents in the beginning of the year with significant concerns regarding bullying um regarding the impact on

their children or the impact on their school and at that time we had extensive conversations about that among the amongst the board team and the cabinet team and Mr E2 and Mr Green um led a updated task force to take a look through not only the whole policy but add the administrative procedures um so at at times there may seem to be a disconnect because someone may not get an immediate response but I I want to be certain that um that that policy policy JN the letter jackets letter Awards and scholarship um also was something that came forward with concerns from students and parents within the community with regard to um the awarding of Varsity letters that led to extensive conversation with the board um I believe we spent many hours on that conversation and

in turn Mr IU and his team um spent significant hours in weeks and months on this process I I could go on um including you know our H HR team developing two brand new staff policies that were not necessarily easy to pin down with regard to staff student relations and digital Communications I say that only to point out that this is one of the most significant roles of the board um we've had some extensive study sessions this year that have gone quite long and a big piece of that was the work done on policy and um so oftentimes when folks see us move through this um and as we update these policies I I don't know that it's often clear that often times that comes from either um questions or concerns that either staff students

or our own team has brought forth um or the board of direct or Board of um education has given us direction to review something so again um this is one of your Mo most important roles and I sometimes wish folks could see the extent to which the time that you take um to discuss this with us to give us feedback to give us Direction um and to make a difference in the lives of our students and our staff by these policies and the implementation of them so we just had some big biggies in there and I didn't want that to go um without notice um and without acknowledging that um the you know the concerns that folks bring forward are heard um and there are times in which um we can act on them immediately

and in times in which we ask for their patience while we work through in a very thorough way so this even evening we covered a lot of those and I appreciate being able to acknowledge that thank you Mrs oquist any other questions or comments regarding that oh no no okay um moving on to item uh n 90 hearing from board members this is a time set aside if any of our board members would wish to speak on any topic and so I will just open that up um is it would anybody like to say anything um Mrs Jarvis thank you president Bradford I would just like to mention to our community that this Thursday is in fact the 75th birthday of Leonia and that the Leonia 75 committee together with the Leonia historical society and

um a couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of uh going over to Church Hill High School and the center and ASD programs uh presented Finding Nemo and it was amazing these stud students did all the choreography the set um the uh script everything themselves and it was what 45 minutes I think Mrs oist we were there and how these kids memorized their lines was absolutely phenomenal so I want to thank that program for putting that on um I think there was even a suggestion that they take their show on the road U which would be wonderful um if if they ever do another one I will be there uh it it was just outstanding also this is graduation time uh yes believe it or not next week our graduations and I just urge

all of our graduating seniors to be responsible and what they do um be kind to each other and uh have a good time but please be careful thank you anybody else okay yep that was one of the things I was going to touch on graduation is upon us and uh we want to wish everybody a very happy graduation in all the programs I know the staff has been diligently working on all of these commencement exercises they don't just uh appear a lot of people work very hard to put on all these programs at the end of the year so uh I just want to thank all the staff and everybody that that takes the time uh whether they're making programs or organizing um events uh these big events are huge and they're so important for

our families and uh we appreciate all the work our staff does in putting together the commencements so uh we also want to congratulate all our students and uh wow the year went really quickly so very fast so everybody have a safe and happy graduation and uh we're going to going to be back in June so um if there's not any other business before the board anybody uh we're going to go ahead and say good evening so have a good night everybody e e e
