One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> Please stay standing. >> Dear Father, we stand before you this afternoon. Just over three weeks since the holiest day of the year, Easter. We pray for the fire department and Chief Moroski and our police department, Sergeant Harvey, as they protect us on a daily basis. Now guide us in our

002decisions tonight. Let it be to your honor. In the Lord's name we pray. Amen. Thank you. >> Okay, we have roll call, please. >> Yes. >> Here >> present. That's all accounted for. Okay. Any announcements? >> No. Department reports as usual available in my office? Anybody who'd like one to contact myself or my deputy. Uh petitions. None. Okay, let's go to uh approval of the agenda. >> I'd like to make a motion approve the agenda. >> Support. >> And we have a motion and we have support. Do we have any discussion? No discussion. Do we have roll call on that, please? >> Mary, >> yes. >> Jenny, >> yes. >> Karen, >> yes. >> Bennett, yes. Yes. Okay. We'll move on to consent agenda. >> Yes. Before the board this evening is the approval of

003the March 16th, 2026 minutes, the approval of the March invoices, the Oxford Anderson Youth Assistance 2627 sponsorship funds for 5500, and a resolution in opposition to the passage of the Michigan House of Representatives bills 5529 through 5532 and 5581 through 5585. Jenny Eller, >> yes. >> Mary Frost, >> yes. >> Mike, >> Yes. Supervisor Pearson. >> Yes. Okay. Now we'll move on to item number two, which is a uh public hearing for several special assessment districts. I suspect a lot of people are here for that reason. So, we're going to get those out of the way right now, so you don't have to

004say and uh listen to my jokes and everything after here. So, um number one, let's see, public hearing for um number one is going to be the special assessment district for Mebrook Court. Uh this is the public hear and then resolution for the following requested uh uh SAD which is metal uh metal court I believe and that's a private road. Okay. Whereas uh the township board received signed uh a petition of 50 or more than 50% of the owners based on the tax rules uh for Oakland County constituting more than 50% of the total frontage of the proposed SAD requesting the amount of $1,250 per parcel for each of the next five years winter tax 2026 through 2030 inclusive for the purpose of road maintenance and common elements and a 5% collection fee for the

005township. Whereas proper notice of the hearing has been published in the Oxford Leader on April 2nd, 2026 and April 9th, 2026 and mailed by first class mail to each property owner within the proposed SAD and the office of the supervisor verify and determine that petition for the metal court sad is properly signed by the record owners of 22 parcels with 29 out of 37 signatures based on the tax rules or 78.4% 4% um of the property owners attached is a petition. At this time, this is where we will open up the public hearing. We don't uh comment at the public hearing, but we do want to hear from anybody who is interested in this special assessment district on metal. So, at this time, I will open the hearing up at 603. If anybody would like

006to speak, please come forward and speak on this SAD. If anybody'd like to speak on the metal SAD, this is the time. Well, if nobody wants to speak on that, then I will close the hearing. We'll call it at 6:04. I'll give it to the board. I'll move the resolution authorizing the SUV for medical private road and add a motion and a second. Any further discussion by the board on this? >> Not hearing any roll call, please. >> Jen, >> yes. Mary, >> Yes. Okay. Resolution. So moved. Now we'll move on to um the SAD for I believe it's Milstan. Um okay, we're in the township of Addison, Oakland County. Uh this once again is the public hearing. um received a special uh assessment um petition for um mailstand for uh with 50% of the

007record owners based on the tax rows of Oakland County constituting more than 50% of the total frontage of the proposed SAD requesting the amount of $200 per parcel for each of the uh year for the next uh five years winter uh tax 2026 through 2030 inclusive for the purpose of road maintenance and common elements and a 5% collection fee uh for the township. Uh, proper notice of the hearing has been published in the auction leader on April 2nd, 2026 and April 9th, 2026 and mailed by first class mail to each of the property owners within the proposed SAD and the office of supervisor verified and determined that petition for milland SAD is properly signed by the record owners of 10 parcels with 12 out of 18 signatures based on a tax rule of 66.7% and

008attached is the petition for the board. At this time, I will open up the meeting at we'll call it 606. If anybody would like to speak on the SAD for Milspan Milstan, this is the time to come forward. If anybody would like to make any comments on it, okay, not hearing any. Then we'll close the meeting. We'll call it 607. And I'll give this to the board once again. >> Your motion. >> I'll make a motion to approve the special assessment district for Millstand. >> Yes. >> As presented. >> And we have support. We have a motion and support. Any comments from the board? Not hearing any. Can we have roll call on that, please? So we move the resolution, right? >> Yes sir. >> Thank you. So we are going to >> Jenny. >>

009Yes. >> Mary Frost. >> Yes. >> Edville. >> Yes. >> Karen, >> Yes. Mike, >> yes. >> Supervisor, >> yes. And that resolution is so moved. Now we'll move on to uh item C, which is uh authorizing an SAD on Piny Oaks Oak Trail. Um, see what we got. Township received petitions signed by more than uh 50% of the record owners based on tax rules kind of more for Oak Trail and for um uh I think that it is that Piney >> Yeah. Is that at the very end of it? Piney Oaks or Oak Trail? >> I don't differences. Um >> I think it's the same. >> It's the same. Okay. I knew I know what Oak Trail is, but I didn't know what Plying Oak. >> Okay. >> But we the township board received

010a petition signed by more than 50% of the record owners based on the tax road county constituting more than 50% of the total frontage of the proposed SAD requesting the amount of $160 per parcel for each of the next five years. uh winter tax 2026 through 2030 inclusive for the purpose of road maintenance and common elements and a 5% collection fee uh for the township. Uh whereas proper notice of the hearing has been published in the Oxford leader on April 2nd 2026 and April 9th 2026 and mailed by first class mail to each property owner within the proposed SAD. The office of the supervisor verified and determined the petition for Oak Trail SAD was properly signed by the requested uh homeowners. Um 12 parcels with 15 out of 21 signatures based on tax rules or

01171.4% tax is the uh uh SAD for the board to look at. Any comments about a motion? >> I'm with a resolution authorizing the Oak trail. >> I'll second. >> Okay, we have a motion and we have a second. Any comments? >> Not any call on that, please. >> Mary, >> yes. >> Jenny, yes. >> Yes. Supervisor. >> Yes. Resolution is so moved. Okay, we'll go on to the last one. Uh this is uh this was to authorize an SAD for Glenn Meadow, Glenwood, Glen View, Glen Cove, Glen Valley. Um did I open up the hearing on that one? >> I don't think I That's why I got too many to go back. >> Okay. >> I'm glad you caught that because I just went back to see what my notes said. >> Yes. >>

012I thought it was just me, so I didn't say anything. Well, I have to >> I was looking >> we want to make sure we follow this. So, I will open that back up to for public comment on the SAD for um Oak Trail and we'll call that at um uh 610 and that's this is open for the public hearing on um Oak Trail. Anybody would like to speak on the SAD for Oak Trail, come forward. Okay, not hearing anybody come forward. Uh, we'll close it at 6 now. We better have the uh motion, right? Or do you want to consider the other motion do? >> I say it's good, but to be safe, we can do it. Resolution. I move the resolution authorizing SAD for Pine Oaks Oak Trail, a private road in Absentia.

013We need a second on that again. >> I'll second it. >> We have a motion and a second. Any comment again? No comment. Roll call, please. >> Yes. President is so moved. I get about 30 of these a year and I have to keep going through every one of them. Okay. Let me see. Now we're on to the SAG for Glenn Meadow, Glenwood, Glen View, Glen Co, Glenn Valley. And at this time, we'll open up the hearing and we'll consider this uh 612 if anybody would like to uh come forward on this one. Um I'll read this also. Uh the township of Madison has um received petition for 50% of the record owners based on the tax rules uh constituting 50% of the total road frontage on the SADs request the amount of $300 per

014partial for each of the next 5 years winter tax 2026 through 2030 inclusive for the purpose of road maintenance maintenance and common elements and 5% collection fee for the township. Proper notice of the hearing has been published in the Oxford leader on April 8th, 2026 and April 15, 2026 and mailed by first class mail to each property owner within the proposed SAD. Uh the office of supervisor verified and determined the petition for Glen Meadow uh Glenn Wood, Glen View, Glen Cove, Glenn Valley SAD is properly signed by the request uh they request their owners of 60 parcels with 63 out of 99 signatures based on the tax rows or 63.6% of the uh total signatures. Okay. And the board now has that petition. Okay. Okay, if anybody would like, we'll open up that hearing at

0156:12 and you can come forward and talk to us about the SAD for those uh roads. >> You have to get up and >> Yeah, if you just come forward and you know Yeah, >> I just have the Okay, I'm Jeff Wall. >> Yes. Um I guess uh in the past we never really had a lot of transparency and you know where the money is going to and you know a financial statement or anything that I don't know how that's handled or how we can is do we do that or do you guys help with that or what's the deal? Well, >> dispersed. >> Yeah. >> Who was the, you know, I'll speak on it. Who was the petitioner? Who did the actual petition on this? >> I think it was Mike. >> Mike Fisher,

016probably. >> Yeah. And who uh is he in charge of the uh of the actual, you know, contracting with with snow plowing or whatever? >> I believe so. But I didn't know if you guys were involved with that at all or >> uh We are involved. The treasurer does we do collect the money. Okay. And there's a 5% fee for that collection, right? >> But we do not write the checks on this one because that would require uh 10% of >> on 5% it goes to the person who's in charge of contracting. So he would be the person that sends us the bills and then we >> All right. Yeah. I got treasure. >> Yeah. So you'd have you'd have to create a committee of >> No, but we collect the money and we give

017the money to that person. >> HOA. >> Gotcha. >> Yes. It would be that person who did the collection. There should be some checks and balance. There should be somebody in there who >> Yeah, I agree. >> a treasurer and and the person in charge of right handling everything. >> At least three people, I would think. Or >> is is it the same person? See, we only the SAD is your SAD. It's the people who live on the road. That's your SAD. We're just accommodating by law to collect the money and um so the SAD is actually yours. >> Okay. >> So, I would contact that person and you know, there should be some checks and balances. I'm sure you know. >> Sure. All right. >> Okay. >> Thanks, >> Dennis. J is the one

018that signs for the payment of He's not doing it now. >> Pardon? >> He's not doing it now. He handed it over to >> Oh, you learned something tonight. Okay. Okay. Where uh we're still on the uh open hearing. Uh anybody else would like to speak on that? These are things. This is how we get things settled. And now you know where who's going to handle it and how it's collected. If nobody else wants to speak, then we'll close the hearing and we'll close it at uh 6:16. Okay. In the township court, uh as the uh SAD >> Well, I'll intend to do the long one, I guess. >> I I'm sorry. I have no comment. >> Yes. for purposes of information for the folks in the audience. There was some information presented in the

019um SED for it looks like some bills and part of it was to statewide striping and ashvault. It was a bill for $14,000 and it looks like there were some quotes for some snow removal to Big Bear Lawn and Landscape. They're like per push and stuff. So just noting that for purposes of the dollar amount >> and when when the petition was um sent out and and the people signed it when everybody looked at it, it has a dollar amount on it and that is the amount for the five years. So if there were any objections, so this was the time to say that. Okay. Um looking for a motion. I made a motion to accept the resolution authorizing a special assessment district as presented for Glen Meadow Lane, Glen Wick Drive, Glen View, Glenn

020Cove, and Glenn Valley. All private roads here in Township. >> We have a motion and a second. Any comments from the board? Not hearing any roll call on that, please. >> Yes. break. >> Yes. >> Mike McDonald. >> Yes. Supervisor Pearson. >> Yes. And the resolution. So move that takes care of all the SADs. So next month I'll probably have another dozen of them. This is the time. Okay. We'll move on to uh item number three now, which is a resoning request. Rezoning application number 26-1. Applicant Robert TR. Uh requested zoning change from agricultural to suburban farms. Uh property address 3560 Lakeville Road, Oxford mailing. Um but in Addison Township, partial ID 05.19.376.006 partial size 8.42 or as surveyed 7.40 acres. Go ahead, Ed. >> Pretty much formality, I'd like to move the uh the

021township board accept the recommendation of the planning commission and deny the reszoning request set forth in application 261. I've moved that this township accept and adopt the findings of the planning commission resolution that was moved and approved at a meeting of the planning commission on March the 10th, 2026. >> I support that motion. >> We have a motion and we have a second right off the get-go. And uh um about comments from the board, >> I would just like to add that the applicant asked to withdraw this application after the PC acted upon it. So, um, it was determined by legal that at that stage he did have to go through and finish this application. He already has a new application at the planning commission. So, it's it's requesting something different. So, it will come

022to us later. >> Thank you. >> Okay. Well, have a motion and second. Any other comments? Hearing none. Roll call, please. Jimmy Allen. Yes. Frost. >> Yes. Yes. Supervisor. >> Yes. Okay, that passes. And now we're on item number four, fire department expenditure. Um, chief, we might as well get up there. Um, looks like you need a uh power uh load lift with a striker uh for the ambulance of $94,47167 from uh 2136.975.0000. Um this is a one one supplier. >> Uh yes, Striker. Um yes. So, are we are we going to have to ask for the wave of the uh purchasing ordinance on this? >> Yes, wave of purchase order approve um because it is a single source provider. >> Okay, we're going to have to have that first. Then I'll make the motion

023to wave the bid requirements for purchasing due to the uh sole source of for this particular model and equipment >> for the fire department. >> Good. We have a second. Yeah. >> Okay. From have a motion, a second to wave the purchasing ordinance because this is a sole uh provider. Um any comments from board? >> None. We have roll call on that, please. >> Yes. Yes. >> Yes. Okay. Now we'll go on to the uh actual purchase of that for $94,47167. So that um COT is actually um an upgrade for our new ambulance. They're actually finally building it. If you remember two and a half years ago, the board approved the purchase of this ambulance and they're just now building it. We should have the ambulance here u the end of May and um which

024coincides that's why I did not bring this to the board until this budget year because we had so many years there to um have the ambulance built. Right. So now that that's being done, I wanted to bring and present this to the board to purchase that cot for our new ambulance. >> Okay. Any comments from the board on this? >> Move to approve the power load lift instructor for 95,471 67 cents from 21336 975. >> Okay, we have a motion and we have support. Any other comments? We have a roll call on that, please. >> Yes. And that passes. Now we'll go on to uh two like pack 35 uh from striker for a total of 138,93543 cents from 21336975 and once again uh is this a one source provider? >> Um they do make

025a different um there is different models out there of the life packs. Um, we just currently have the life pack 15 and we'd like to stay with the same one. So, there is only a single source provider for that actual monitor. Yes. >> Okay. So, we'll need a motion to wave the purchasing order on this. Also, >> I'll go ahead and make a motion to go ahead and purchase the uh Oops. >> Just wave purchasing the life pack 35s because that specific life pack 35 is single source >> support. >> Correct. And we have support from Karen. Okay. Any comments from the board on this? Not hearing any. Do we have roll call, please? >> Yes. >> Frost. >> Yes. >> Karen, >> Yes. Supervisor. >> Yes. Okay. Now, we'll move on to the actual

026purchase of 138,935 43 cents. So, our uh current life packs were actually end of life about three years ago. Um they don't actually make any parts for them, but we were able to push it out three years because um our low volume here and we actually take care of our equipment, so we didn't have to worry about any of that. Um so, the new ones came out about two and a half years ago and we wanted them to go through their um fixing bug cycle, right? So, we didn't buy like you don't buy a new car right when it comes out that year, right? you kind of wait until it but anyway that's what we did and um unbeknownst to me th those are actually double than what they were when we bought them in

0272013 and we actually got a grant for those. We wrote we tried writing an AFG grant for these and we were denied so twice. Um, so that just brings us to where I had to budget for it and we're able to and to try to ask the board to purchase those life pack monitors. And they actually um those things are so expensive because they do multiple functions, right? They do blood pressure, they look at your heart in 15 different um areas um and to actually uh send it to the hospital, get the cardiac team ready, all that kind of stuff happens with this monitor, right? So, it's an invaluable tool and we couldn't operate without that piece of equipment and we have to buy two because we have two ambulances, one for backup in case

028we have another call and so on and so forth or multiple patients. >> Okay. >> Oh, right ahead. >> I like that uh you were also able to offload the other units and get a credit to towards this which is >> Yeah, >> we like that. >> Yes. Okay. >> Going back to my prayer, thank you, Terry, for protecting us >> every day. Every day. >> Thanks for the taxpayer giving us the money to be able to do so. >> I'd like to go ahead and make the motion to purchase the light pack 15 monitors. Uh, two of them. My 35 in the amount of 138,93543. Amount of capital account number 213 336975. support. >> Okay, we have a motion and we have support. Any further comments from the board? >> Not hearing any call

029on that, please? >> Yes. >> Supervisor Pearson. >> Yes. >> Thank you. >> Supported. Thank you, Chief. Are you done spending money now? >> Yes. >> Okay. Good. >> Yes. >> Believe me, it bothers me more than you guys. >> I know >> you've done a good job. >> We know they have it. >> Uh item number five, American Leads and Child Well-Being Foundation grant authorization. Pauline, this is I think your uh request. I think it >> it is >> looks like a great one. searching um in my spare time for different graphs. Um just a quick update. It seems like many philanthrop philanthropy groups are now doing it by invite only. So I kindly ask for invites. Um I did put in for a few other ones waiting to hear back. American Legion and

030this is just for Child Well-being Foundation. Um we research them. They uh do give these grants out every year. Uh, so I went ahead and filled it out. We do need I do need permission to sign it. Actually, Bruce does and then I would be the project director. Um, I took the amount that we received from um, the person from last year and incorporated that into part of the application. Um, I'm thinking that I'll continue trying to find more of these groups and then if it doesn't happen, we can apply at the state level next year for the 5050 grant. Um, when I did call the state up, they have three different venues for grants. And she said for this project, um, she suggested that we go for the 5050 and have the better chance

031of getting it. So, we can continue with these types of grants. The motion that I'm looking for is to also approve the American Legion grant. Yes. But a lot of times when I'm talking to these people, they want to know, well, how much money do you have? So, it would be nice if I could use this as an example. Um, so if the board can also approve that the dollar amounts with the same proposed budget to go out for other people when I'm when I'm just trying to search and I'll have to come back to the board, I imagine even if they're interested, but at least I want to give them some kind of a feel of what type of money we're looking for. We're actually almost really close to the 5050 with this proposal.

032The dollar amounts that I'm proposing, we currently have Um, and then there it's above the 180, meaning that we would budget again next year for it or we would have to amend the budget if we got this. >> Okay. Any comments for the board? >> I have one. >> Oh, but nobody else does. I think uh whatever we can do, I would appreciate that we apply for every grant we can get. We'd love to put a playground uh over in the park here for the kids to use where the parents are playing pickle ball because pickle ball has become the most popular thing in town now. It would be great to have a play set there for the kids so they don't have to sit and watch their parents have fun. >> Yeah, that's my

033goal. We need a playground. >> I have a question. Did you are you >> I'm submitting >> Are you submitting the photo of the current playground? >> Yes. >> Boy, if there's any sympathy for us, we should get it based on the photo of the single slide and the four swings. >> Yeah. If if the audience has seen it, it just shows our slide swing. That's all we have for the kids. And it >> is what it is. I mean, that's what's out there. >> Yeah. >> So, I played pickle ball this weekend. The kids played in the sand. >> Yeah. Yeah. The sand pile has become popular too, even though it's a volleyball hit. But >> yeah, they don't know. >> There was tears on this page. >> I know. >> Look at that.

034Do something about it. >> That's a stroke of genius to show that picture of how pathetic it looks. But uh uh um yes, >> on this one, I would like to make the motion to authorize uh the American Legion Child uh Well-being Foundation grant and authorize a clerk to send to other uh uh groups that uh do the same kind of work and um the same proposed budget >> support. >> We have my motion and we have support. Any comments? Do we have roll call on that, please? Jenny. >> Yes. >> Supervisor. >> Yes. And that motion passes. Okay. We'll move on to item number six. Uh board appointment policy. Well, I know we uh presented this a while ago that we wanted uh uh some kind of a policy and in case I never

035come back from a motorcycle ride or something, you need to replace me or whatever. But um >> really? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Seriously, >> I'm just saying I just ride to California and not come back. Okay. But um I understand that you'd want to have a a policy here and uh anyways it looks to me like uh Pauline uh quoted most of the laws that are in regards to this for the state. Does anybody have any questions on this or any >> I just I just have one question. Um and I'm I can't get my finger on it right now, but the Oh, if we receive more than four responses, we're going to narrow it down. Is there Did I miss the process of narrowing it down? It would probably be originally I had that

036admin would select those but now it would end up being a special meeting. So it's say a special meeting will be called to select the four top. So if we get 10 we'll have a special meeting >> to narrow it down. >> We get four then we'll probably just do all of the interviews. >> Got it. >> Any other contacts >> is that in here somewhere? Um it is three and if more than four responses are received a special meeting will be called for the board to select the top four candidates for the interview process. So what we did when I when I created it, I was trying to keep >> Thank you, Eddie. >> I was trying to keep it simple because the state has all of the laws that give us time frames.

037I was trying to keep it simple so that it just kind of keeps us on the same page if a vacancy happens and everybody knows what they're going to be doing next. I'm just glad we'll had something in place. >> Yes. >> Yeah. For as many times as it's happened to the board. >> Well, we've had Yes. We've unfortunately had to replace several people. Any other comments? Not hearing any. That's the board's pleasure. I'll make a motion to adopt the board appointment policy with the uh purposes proposed for its application. >> I'll second Harry Frost is a support. Any other comments from the board members? We have a motion and we have support. No other comments. It has been for our legal roll call, please. >> Yes. That motion has passed. Okay. Right. Item number

038seven, resolution authorizing AC or EFT, automatic clearing house and electronic funds transactions and uh and approve the policy and procedures. This all has to do, I guess, with the treasurer. >> Yes. >> Go ahead, Mr. Treasur. In uh my brief time at the helm of the treasur's office, um I've had to make a number of transfers be between banks and Oakland County um because they don't accept checks. There was no other way to pay them except to wire it or a it. We do have policies to cover credit cards and cash ex cash who handles cash but we don't have anything um for AC's or electronic fund transfers even though we've been using them for a number of years. So I put this to the board and in hopes that uh you'll approve it because

039right now we're kind of flying under the radar. Um and this will um offer us an effective and safe means to transfer funds especially large funds. Um it's not the intention uh to deal with uh it won't this won't be u used for residents of either refunds or payments of employees. This is strictly for um commercial or group tra group group uh fund transfers. It's very common. Um state of Michigan uh passed the fir one of the first laws back in 2002 for AC and that we've just never made great use of it until recent well until the past few years when it became more a lot more common. In fact, back in 2002, there were uh over two million A's in Michigan um monthly. So, it you can only imagine the number now um

040since that time. So, I'd ask the board to review it. We obviously've already received it. So, if you have any questions, that's why I'm here. Well, I I did notice that this is really for bankto bank and uh township to government other government agencies. >> Right. Okay. >> Go ahead, Karen. >> Oh, I just had a question. Um do we really expect any transfers of $500,000 or more? >> Like on this um sub paragraph it says AC or EFTP >> daily limit >> with consideration for expected blah blah blah. The current limit at Flagster Bank's daily limit is $500,000 and Shelby the township's per day limit. Do we really? >> We do. >> For what? >> At tax time. >> We have uh we all feel the pinch and Yeah. The schools sometimes we trans

041sometimes we have to do transfers one partial one day and partial the next day because we do this school. >> Yeah. >> So that's just really a tax like I mean how many times do we do that? Um well two times more more in winter than in summer. Got it. >> Okay. I just asked >> I'll make I move the resolution authorizing the AC or EFT the automatic clearing house and electronic um funding funds transfer EFT and the policy and procedure. I mean, you use this all the time. Add over 500,000, don't you? >> Yeah. >> That number came up. >> We do have a motion. >> And we have support from the clerk. Any other comments? Hearing none. Uh, roll call, please. >> I just want to add, Mike and I talk, we're going

042to start slow on this. >> Yeah, absolutely. But I think it will be a benefit once once we learn everything. >> Well, I kind of feel like it legalizes everything I've already been doing. Um, just out of that's the only way that we could do some of the business that we've had to do. >> Mary Frost, >> yes. >> Jenny Ellen, >> yes. >> And yes, >> Mike, >> yes. >> Supervisor, >> yes. Resolution so moved. Okay, we're moving on to Whoops. I think uh we're on to public forum. If anybody in the public would like to speak, please come forward. We'd love to hear if anybody has any anything they'd like us to know. >> We have ahead. >> I was just going to ask a question. I noticed here about the opposition to

043the these certain House bills. I was just wondering what they were. I'm not I'm not up on the bills. Well, it sounds like you're already more up than most people. >> Well, we have an expert right here on the motions because she is a representative. Uh she was a past president of the Michigan Township Association and we just came from that uh convention. >> You want me to send you a copy? >> Sure. >> But most of it is about development and they are um how would you properly say um not letting the locals decide the future of their government. development purposes. >> Okay. >> So, all of those bills have to do with development and taking away from local authority. >> Okay. >> Yeah. Because I would like it to stay like >> Yeah.

044Well, that's why we're here. >> That's why we're here. >> This is this is our legislature working against us quite frankly. >> One sizefits all is what the state is trying to do. And that's not how >> No, >> that's not how communities work. Everybody's different. And I don't know if this is the right forum to thank you because I don't know if it's the correct board or if it would be like planning or zoning because I had read in the Oxford leader about um that you had um a temporary moratorum on the data centers. Is that >> we have that's accurate? >> And then how long will that last for? >> That's up for a year and can be extended if needed. The state is also discussing to pass one as well. So we're

045just kind of watching to what what happens. >> Okay, good to know. Thank you. >> Is that the right board, the sport that did? >> We've already >> Thank you. >> We're We keep on top of that. We Yes. We're very concerned about development in the township. We want it to be the right way. >> Thank you. >> Okay. Thank you. Okay, Chief. >> I have um so our our annual township cleanup day is coming up May 9th. Great. I don't know if you guys I don't want to steal anybody's thunder, but we also have our pancake breakfast going to happen the same time here. So, we thought we could get some people throwing away their junk and then stop in and have some pancakes and stuff. I did want to let you know and

046I did it did slip my mind. I wanted to tell um at least Bruce um the supervisor that we're going to be parking by the uh by the library over there to keep this little lane open and all the activity happened back here because it is a coordinated uh chaos here on Garbage Day. But I wanted to let you know we're having our pancake breakfast at our new station. Um we haven't had one in a long time with the strawberry festival not going now. We still wanted to reach out to our public and we sent out flyers. You should have saw those in the mail and our help wanted um uh flyer as well. So um we'll see you over there. You get some pancakes and uh some I think we're going to I think

047we're going to do eggs this year. I'm not sure. >> What's the menu? >> Yeah. What's the menu? >> What's the pancakes? That's it. I think well I think that was a very good move because um Mike and I ought to be overeating pancakes when everybody's un so well thank you. Anybody else in public forum? Okay. Well then we'll close that and we'll move on to Addison Township the board reports. Anybody on a board have something at any of your meetings you'd like to share? Yes. >> So the planning commission um we met for the first time. We have our new planner at our last meeting, Adam Young. It went very well. Um, he also gave us a mini master planning training during that time frame, which was really good, great, great information. He seems

048to be right on on the wall with things. And so, we're hoping things will fall into place easily with him, especially since we had our first wetlands um application come through, too. >> Very good. Yes. >> Oh, I uh went to the very rainy, windy, cold, very long first noaz collection two Saturdays ago. It >> was my first experience ever. It was very cool, actually. Although it was a very crappy weather day, >> but we had,249 cars come through. So, it was very busy. And we I worked the line where people that didn't register in advance, we had to get their information and then take their money. Uh we worked with Whitney at the county and um she did send a report. I guess we didn't have that many residents appear but there are four

049collections throughout the year, right? >> Um but yeah, it was it was a great experience but for the weather. >> Most people are very happy when they're doing this. >> I didn't take any pictures cuz I couldn't even keep the paperwork dry. They give you these rain coats and the girls were like, "You put the rain, you put the clip under the rain coat." I'm like, "Oh my god, >> the next one though is in warmer weather." Well, it'll be warmer as we go on, but it was a cool experience. So, and definitely a great cause. So, >> who else had a hand up? Mike. >> Mike did. >> Yeah. I just wanted to uh update on uh Nota. Um Ed, Ed and I both have been working closely with the board on the renovations

050to the existing building. Um all of the hardware updates. We've now got cameras and GPS on every single unit. Um, we've spent a lot of money to upgrade um to provide better service. And then as far as the mission, the materials management committee at Oakland County, they are preparing to roll out um it won't be immediately. It might it'll be months, but they are going to be looking at establishing facilities. Um they have not said the solid waste word. They call it material management, but they're going to be citing recite uh they're going to be looking to site recycling facilities, um processing facilities, which is all a good thing except there's no room for any of that stuff south of uh 19 mile. So we're we're it again after 30ome years. every rural community better

051be on its guard because it's coming. They've got they're claiming they have six years of capacity left at Eagle Valley and coincidentally they have to have at least six and a six um six years of life. Otherwise, it triggers under the newly adopted law the the search for landfill and processing facility space. So, the county's just keeping it real lowkey and then when they adopt the plan in a year's time or so um that that's when we'll find out what they were really about. And if I sound paranoid, it's cuz I am. I just it everything's le everything everything our money is leaving us going south and we're getting everything they don't want. That's basically the way the balance appears. And it's not just Addison, it's, you know, Oakland Township, it's Lake Orian, it's Orian

052Township, it's uh Brandon, Oxford. We're we're all prime prime subjects. uh we don't have sewer and water that does work for us in this case too. However, um data data centers and all of those need space and they really there's so much money involved in that that they just they can do what they want. And that that's what some of the laws that uh our legislature is passing is to give these special uses um more leeway and more ability to go in where the state wants them to go in and not where the local community necessarily thinks they should be. So I'll get off my soap box. Well, we we went through Mike knows a lot about this because um he was on the board way back when they tried to put a a dump

053site in on the border of Addison Township in Oxford and that got defeated. But that there'll be another try. They're going to have to put another dump site someplace. And um our problem is is that we have the watershed up here. We have so many lakes and so much water up here that we're very fearful that it would uh hurt the environment here because we don't have a lot of dry land. We have a lot of um um wet land. So, anybody else on the board? Yes. >> This is not about any of that, but on Memorial Day, the Saturday of Memorial Day, we are actually going to have another veterans program up at the cemetery. And this is the first time in quite a while. So, >> will you uh get with uh Jamie

054or >> I have already talked to somebody today about Jamie and the flyers. >> Oh, >> is it somebody new who's doing it and she doesn't know everything that we usually do? So, I'm trying to help her out. >> Okay. We can get that on the website. That would be helpful. >> Yes. >> So, it will be Saturday at what time? >> I do not know because I don't have the flyer. >> Good. It's Yeah, it's usually It used to be around noon, I think, didn't it? >> I think so. >> Thought it was around 11. >> 11. Well, and ended at noon then. Yeah. Yeah. So, have they talked to you yet? >> Yes. >> Okay, good. >> Okay. Anybody else? >> Yes. Plain language. >> I appreciate us objecting to the House bill

055going against our planning uh zoning board. The zoning board is very important in this township and that it it knows the township. It knows the land. It knows the people and it's very difficult for somebody on the outside looking in telling us how to do it. And just we appreciate the opposition and if people hear anything about it, let us know your support. I do appreciate it. The other thing is May the 7th is National Day of Prayer. Let us not forget it and it's coming up very soon. >> Okay. Um any legal reports, communications? >> Yes, we have received one communication from Jeff and Lolita and it is concerning road condition for Haz Road and this will be available at the clerk's office and >> okay, anybody else? Nothing. No other communications. Okay, we'll

056move on to the uh supervisor's report. I only have a few things. Uh the roads and drainage. I've been out with the the road commission. I'm working on the drainage. This year has been a horrific. Uh if you look all throughout the nation, there's flooding, there's road issues. Um I will give them a lot of kudos that they have been working a lot of overtime at the road commission trying to uh keep the roads passable. The weather has not been cooperative, but they are are trying. And the rain because of how hard it comes down, it washes the gravel away that we do put on the road. We do have more gravel coming. Um it's just a vicious circle and they're they're doing the best they can. uh the drainage. Uh they will be out

057here Wednesday doing some more um jetting of the underground um tubes that go underneath the road to keep the water moving because during the winter they plug up with mud and everything and so they'll have the machine out here on Wednesday. Um but I do I drive around all the time and I meet up with them. I have a very good rapport with the road commission foreman. He's the guy that's actually out there getting his hands dirty and um he um he has been exceptional for us in this township. And I will say out of the whole county, we have the best road grader um in the county. Okay. And they tell me that too that that the man who does the road grading out here, there's one grader um established in every township and

058the one we have is a veteran road grader. he is the best we have. It's just it's very hard for him to keep up with everything because the weather has not been cooperative. So, um I know everybody's complaining and everybody's road is the worst. Um but you know, they have been out there and they've been working a lot of overtime and it's just we have 40 almost 46 42 miles of gravel road. It's very hard to keep all of that up. You got to remember a lot of these were wagon paths. Uh there was never any ditching. This this uh township, you know, was settled back in the 1830s, 1837. We actually became a township. And a lot of these were just wagon paths and they turned into roads and there's never been any ditching.

059And we we continue to put gravel on them. But to be honest with you, I guess you'd almost have to do a massive redo of every road. They are going to do a massive uh redo of Curtis Road this year where I asked them to take the banks down, get some ditching in. Uh the trees that are um encroaching on the uh right of way have to be taken down. It's got to be made safe. So they're going to regravel that from I believe Roland Road down to Lakeville. We have a ton of traffic uh on Army Road there, especially with the Salvation Army. And um I told them if they're going to do this, don't do it halfway. Do it the proper way and then we'll move on to the next road. And every

060year hopefully we can get one road where they actually do the right thing and get it back in shape. Um spring cleanup, like you said, that's May 9th and and as you know, we open up one at 8 o'clock. >> Yes. >> And we go to is it one o'clock, I believe. So that'll be right here in the parking lot again. It's always a big success. So, if you and also if you see any any uh debris on the side of the road, I along with um my uh handy left-handed man here to the side, we go around with our my trailer and we pick up old tires and uh couches, whatever you see on there, we pick them up every year. So, um just uh give us a call here so we can write

061down where it's at and we'll we'll get those this week. Um, we also have the mosquito dunks and spray that uh we got a grant for. So if you have any uh u ponds or anything like that, um these little dunks are completely safe. You put them in and that eliminates the larve from growing. So the mosquitoes will go and those are free. We have them right here in the township. So anybody would like them, please come in and and get some and put on your property. And um and hopefully we can eliminate the um mosquitoes. And as you know, there's been a big warning this year about ticks. Ticks are really bad this year. So, we want everybody to be aware of that also. And I would the last thing I have to say

062is the pickle ball courts have been the most popular thing again. Uh who would have thought a bunch of farmers would be out there playing pickle ball, you know? I mean, I make that comment every time I go to the big city and and they say, "Oh, they play pickle ball." I say, "We do, too." You know, you know, I don't know what kind of paddle we use, if it's a break or what, but but we do play pickle ball out here. It's amazing. You know, a lot of people first said, "Oh, that'll never fly." And they have come in and and said to me, they said, "You made a believer out of us." That that was one of the best recreation things that that was proposed in this township. So, other than that, I'm

063looking for a motion for adjournment. I'll >> make the motion. support. >> We have a motion for adjournment and support. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Anyone opposed? Nick. >> Okay, we are adjourned and May 18th is our next meeting. Thank you very much.
