001the consent agenda as written. >> Support. >> Okay. So, we have a motion and we have support. >> Any comments from the board? >> Is the second or the the seventh according to her paperwork? >> I'm sorry, I didn't hear. >> I have the second. What does the paperwork say? >> I read her paper this summer. So, something June 7th. So, we're going to change that to June 7th. Thank you, Jamie. >> Okay. June 7th. >> Okay. We have a motion. We have support. >> Support has modified. >> Okay. Um, no comments except June 7th. >> Okay. Roll call, please. >> Ed, yes. >> Karen, yes. Frost, >> yes. Bow. >> Yes. >> J Howard, >> yes. Yes. Supervisor Pearson. >> Yes. Okay, we'll move on to item number two. Cemetery lawn service RFP responses.

002Um, I know Pauline worked hard on this and um we have several I think four that were returned. Everybody has that in your packets. I think everybody's kind of looked over them. I had um some of them were very high, some of them were neck and neck. Um I'm going to open it up to the board. >> I'd like to make a comment. >> Yes. Not really. I appreciate the spreadsheet that you guys worked on. >> That's Pauline. You did a great job. >> Robert, Pauline, I do appreciate it. Makes it real easy to see. >> Okay. any comments on the bids? >> I just wanted to say that I sent over 30 or tried to contact at least 30 of these and I thank you. There's three of them here tonight. So, I do

003thank you for responding. Um, I did call on references. Uh, it doesn't make it any easier when I call on references because all of them have outstanding references. Um, two of them have experience in cemeteries, which um, I found that to be a plus because cemetery work is um, my words are miscellaneous. So, you have to there's there's a lot involved in a cemetery. Uh, two of them do have cemetery experience. Um, and then another one has been in business for a very long time. So, um, I just throw that out there just so that you guys are aware. And the two that do have experience with the cemeteries are number two and number It's one, isn't it? >> One. >> Do they have names? >> One. >> You know, it's just easier for me

004to identify by number, but you have it right in front of in front of you. All seasonal services and Ly's landscaping. Is that correct? >> Those are the two that have picked out. >> They they're the ones that have cemetery experience. I will say the cemetery is a very difficult uh thing to handle, okay? Because of all the the trimming that comes around and and where our cemetery has an awful lot of trees. We had an awful lot of limbs and a lot of cleanup there. I can remember when I first took office 17 years ago, um we weren't getting the service at the cemetery because um it was it was hard to pick up all the branches and everything and the cemetery kind of got into disrepair a little bit and um that's when

005we uh remember that. >> Pardon? >> I don't quite remember being in Well, it was because somebody couldn't bend over to pick up the rules, so I had to confront them up at the cemetery. And um >> Well, yeah, Diller did a lot of work back then. >> Yeah. But I um there was a it got to a point where they couldn't do the the work. >> And so that's when um it was put out the bids again. And um I would like to say first of all I'd like to really thank um Calvin Sutherby. Okay. He was one of our residents of our township and he has done an excellent excellent job over all the years when he took over the cemetery and he and it's it's beautiful now. I mean the way he

006took it care of it. But if you all I don't know if you all received his little note and he said he's just not physically able to maintain that anymore. And um he wanted to thank everybody uh for the opportunity all these years. He had special interest in it. His families up there and everybody uh knows that he did a really good job, but I think at this time he finally realized that it just got to be too much for him. But anyways, um the cemetery is a very difficult job. There's an awful lot of work out there. Just I'm just throwing that out. >> Erin, there's a question. >> Two questions. >> Yes. >> Uh you said two of the bins companies that provided bids had cemetery experience. I see that the one number

007two identified as number two does. Where is the other one? >> The number one. Oh >> yeah, Lies. Thank you. I was going to say the name, but yeah, that is considered Lies and number two is MML seasonal services. And then uh is there another contract that we signed that requires insurance and additional insurance and all that stuff? >> Um so that was included in the RFP. A lot of them return that back. It's already been approved by LEO. So the motion when we decide what company the motion would just be tied to um the person that we um give the RFP to has to fulfill the um signing of any missing documents. So the agreement's already done. >> Okay. So there is a contract in place that talks about insurance and all that >>

008and they have to provide insurance. A lot of them already gave me their insurance and the W9. So most of them are ready and set to go. So the motion would just have to cover that saying that they would have to give whatever information is required. >> What about the day of the week? Wasn't there an issue with the day of the week? >> Yes, we wanted it on Thursday and everybody is aware that it would be Thursday. That's what it looks like. We did I think we addressed that. So, never mind. I was going to go through what we changed, but I think we addressed it when we actually approved the RFP. So, I'm not going to go through that again. >> Does anybody have any preference here after reading over everything? >> No.

009I mean there's a huge price discrepancy here except like with the bid. So it's kind of >> puzzling >> to a certain extent >> settlement almost as good as you would squeezing money out of a rock. >> I kind of like >> I thought you were better than I was. >> I tried. That's right. I kind of like number two which is MML uh season services especially since I see 133 annual estimate. Is that support? >> Well, there's there's actually it's a three-year contract. >> I see it, but I'm going by the first one. What I see >> overall contract? >> We're not awarding by the price we're awarding to the person because enclosed in there, it actually addresses for the three years. So, by him going by the name, we're fine. And I will

010support your motion. >> Okay, we have a motion and a second. Anyway, The documents must >> absolutely. Does anybody have any comments on this? >> Can you just clarify is the motion to approve seasonal services? >> Mml seasonal services. >> Um I am reading in here that uh that they do specialize in um cemeteries and that they do um uh you could contact Dryen Township. I believe they do a town. They do the cemetery in Dryen Township and they also do Kingsbury School which is quite extensive in our township. I do see that >> um the other reason why and I really feel bad because I talked to each one individually so it's really hard for me to do this but at the same time um MML does disclose in his paperwork that he can

011do other things. So if the township wants more service than just the um grass cutting um we can also call him to see if that he could participate in that as well. So I thought that that was another plus. The only comment I have after the motion of support is that the price seems right based on what we have. So that's I just have to say that without everybody knowing what it is. >> Yes. And I was surprised because our 2025 annual rate was um 126 plus incidental. So like when I have to call if I had to call up Calvin for something extra, he would bill which is normal. So this is this would be the neck to neck with Calvin's um yearly but doesn't include incidental. So when I looked at the price

012I was really surprised that it was really close to what we've been what we've been paying. It is higher but it is relatively close. >> Okay. So we do have a motion and we do have support. Does anybody have any further comments that they need to add? >> Okay. I think then we should uh vote on this and see if it has the support because we have rollers. >> Karen Gel. >> Yes. >> Jenny Allen. >> Yes. >> Mary Frost. >> Yes. >> Edo. Yes. >> Mike McDonald. >> Yes. >> Bennett. Yes, Supervisor Pearson. >> Yes. And I think that MML once they present all the paperwork, which I believe you have anyhow. So, >> not always. Music. I still need a few more things. >> Okay. >> Yes. >> I never I' talked to

013all these guys on the phone. I've never met. >> Does that come out here? >> No. Okay. Yeah, I do know that they do work in Dryen Township. >> He did call that could come over. >> Yes, he did. That's what he called and said that he couldn't come because he was on a job. Um, but of course, it wasn't mandatory. I do appreciate you guys being here and thank you for your calls and it was a pleasure working with all of you. >> You your references all checked out. I mean, it was great. So, thank you very much. and and someday we may have uh you know we have grass cutting for everything else and if those contracts come up they're just not the cemetery one >> and that the whole complex everything. So

014please uh if that comes up >> we would appreciate bidding on that and that's a different type of >> um grass cutting for maintenance than the cemetery. >> Thank you. We'll move on to item number four. >> Three. Three. >> Three. Item one. I'm just trying to speed up here. >> I guess item number three. >> Appointments to the zoning board of appeals. Three-year terms. Robert, Jay Sandler, and Tony Speed. And also the construction board of appeals, which is Michaelini, Kenneth Barts. These are all common pronunciations. >> And Scott Ko, I can do that one. And Michael uh Gel, >> no relation. >> No, no relation. That is relation. >> When it comes up, >> it always came up every night. Show up the vote. >> And then if everyone would notice on the side

015in the fold print, that's their term. So, we would make a motion and preview the name and the terms. >> Okay. >> Do we have to break it down or can we just say to the for their term? I'd like to go ahead and make a motion to the uh zoning board of appeals and the construction board of appeals to uh fulfill their term of office. >> Do I need to say names? >> Okay. >> Names are not necessary since you named them already, right? >> You could say as listed. >> As listed. Okay. We have motion and we have support. Any comments? Not hear any. All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Anyone opposed? Say nay. >> And eyes have it. Thank you. Now we'll move on to unless you want me

016to go to five. >> Just got to go back to four. a motion authorizing the police protection and police operations village and the ballot proposal. Um I think you see all of the proposal here and what it would show up on the election. Anybody have any comments on >> Yes. like to share with the board. So right now the millillage is expired. We we do not have a millage for the police. So it is very important that this is passed. So what we did when we tweaked the wording, if you'll notice, we are leveling it for a um period of five years so that it expires in 2030 so that it's not going to expire in an off year. So we think that that will help the situation a little bit. Other than that, um,

017nothing major has changed. >> I'd like to move a resolution authorizing the police protection and police operations mill and the ballot proposal. Support. >> We have a motion and we have support. Any further comments? Uh, not hearing any. Mayor, please. Mary Frost, >> yes. >> Karen Giden, >> yes. Mike Donald, >> yes. Jenny Ellen, yes. Senate, yes. Supervisor, >> yes. So, moved. Um, I just want to let you know that uh Independence Township, I was at their own capacity. They're not increasing their millies. They're just going to do renewals. Orian Township has to do a a big increase uh to maintain what they have. and the county still hasn't given us some information on what the what the uh billing will be. Uh we're still waiting on it. They were supposed to have it in

018November, then December, then January, and they promised in February, and now we're into March, and they still won't have it. Um uh Oxford is okay for now because they had gone to uh villages uh prior to this and they were approved. So, they're okay for right now. Uh Brandon is waiting. they have to increase theirs to keep their their men. Uh if we get disapproved, I think we'll be okay for the next three years just out of renewal. Okay. So, or until the county, they've only gone up four years with this whole increase. So, we don't know where they're going after this, but um as of right now, we're okay. So, um anyways, that has moved. So we'll move on to uh item number five now. Approve the county 2826 road chloride program not to

019exceed 83,169 from 101446934002. I've just got a question. Yes, probably this should be directed to Mike maybe. Did you look at all the roads and everything with the mileage that they have and add them all up and make sure that it does equal the amount of uh 180 >> they've covered down. >> Yes, Mike and I talked about this. They have to take off the two pave roads that we have. One is Peninsula and Pentacola. Um, those have to be taken off, but we they do adjust for that. >> Okay. >> But it's been reviewed by you, too, and everything's good. >> Well, this is not to exceed, but when we get the bill, when they start to do it, I always go up and make sure that they take those off. >> No, he

020wants to know if you guys did the math. >> They do the homework. So, I was started looking at enthusiastic. Is that what you're saying? I would have done that. But >> honestly, I didn't add them. I just looked at last year's list and they matched. So, and I've gone through with them the last couple years, and this is the same as it was the last couple years. I did have a meeting with the road commission. Um last week they came in superintendent and the uh foreman and um and they did tell me what roads are in dire condition, which ones aren't and which I already do all of them. But um >> I'll go ahead. I feel good that at least you guys are looking at it. >> Yes. No, that is an accurate

021number of our gravel roads. >> I'll go ahead and make a motion to approve the county 2026 road chloride program. not to exceed 83,169,000 from account number 101446934002. >> We do have support. So we have a motion and we have support. Any other comments? Not hearing any. Can we have roll call, please? >> Jenny, >> yes. Mary Frost, >> yes. >> Gel, yes. Ed, >> yes. >> Mike McDonald, >> yes. Yes, supervisor. >> Yes. And that passes. Okay. We'll move on to item number six, which is approve the revised VC3year agreement starting at $2,27.36. Um Pauline and uh we're working on this again and um we had to increases to keep the the one contact person that we always wanted. >> Well, what happened is when we went ahead and went the lower route, it

022was 1864 and actually Mitch, which you can see him at the bottom, he's the one that basically gave himself up. So I said, "Okay, the board's going 1864." and he's going, "Okay, I'm so sorry because now you lost me because I just got a a promotion." And I was like, "Oh dear." Um, but then I realized that maybe and then he did work out a new agreement. It's a little bit lower than his first one, but it's still higher than what we approved. But then I started realizing maybe the service that they were trying to push on us is important because what happened was is now I received a new notice from BC3 saying that it's time for our servers to be replaced. They're they're probably right. I do have to check. They're probably over

02310 years old and you should replace your >> and you know what,000. So, if we had gone with with them telling us what we need to do, they would come up with a plan. We would have budgeted for this because now they're saying by the end of the year we need a new server. We didn't budget for that. And then we would also still have our direct contact. So, I started rethinking that maybe saving that money might we're saving the money, but are we really helping the township by saving the $163 per month because we are going to lose Mitch and the computers need to be on a replacement program. We don't have that. We're basically like like Mitch was saying, we're reacting in instead of having a plan, we are in the reactive mode

024instead of letting them come in and give us a plan on how to manage everything. Um, so that's the reason I put it back on the agenda. I think it's worth to take another look. I'm glad I didn't sign the agreement because we did it so far in advance so that we could budget appropriately, but now it is due by April 1st, so I can't wait any longer. And um last Tuesday I went down to a cyber security event that our insurance company MMRMA hosted and there were a lot of townships that are now there. And I came back finding out that we need a new security uh system and we need new upgrades. And the good thing is is that MMRA will give us a 50% grant on this. You know, it's not going

025to Well, for the I shouldn't say that. >> No, it has to be in there. >> It has to be in there. But once I get if if the board approves Mitch, I'm going to go after Mitch and say, "Can't you can't you guys enroll in that program?" >> Correct. Okay. >> You know, there's you know the bidding for the state. >> Yeah. So, they can enroll in the program. I'm guilty that they will, but at least I can start asking them if they would consider it. But the bottom line is after I sat there for four and a half hours and I was mesmerized. You know, somebody teaching I teach stuff usually puts you to sleep. But I actually sat there and listened to the whole thing and I was surprised how people can

026get into our system and and how many other people have been held um hostage now uh and they're having to pay out Bitcoin and um and that it's happening in Michigan. So after hearing everything, I now realize and I'm not a guru on computers by any means. I'm in remedial classes, but after I listened to them, I said it's time that we upgrade. And um so >> I did want to say though, VC3 is going to because I did want cost comparison. Um they are going to give us a cost comparison just to do an upgrade like they're doing to the laptops. Um not a total replace, just a quick upgrade. um that will only last probably five years. We wouldn't be in the same position again. Um also many communities are going to the

027cloud. Um so I I've talked to Mitch instead of our new assigning. I called up Mitch and he was he chatted with me and he said that um he would explain the difference of the cloud and versus having the server here. Um and then of course we already have the um estimate for having a brand new server at 35,000 and that's with installation. So that's huge. >> And I I did speak with Orient Township. They're going to the cloud next month themselves, you know, and then there were a couple other townships that have projected that they're going next year to the cloud because that it's more expensive, but it's the way they're going. >> Is it more expensive? Yeah, >> they didn't they didn't give me a price on the cloud yet, but Mitch Mitch

028already told me that before we could even consider it, we would have to go to the cloud for BSNA. >> Yeah, that's that's coming. Their BSNA is going to shut off their >> I contacted them and they said, "No, it's not mandatory." But I don't how long, but it won't be long. >> It's It's coming. Nobody's happy about it, though. At least the treasurers across the state aren't happy about it because it is considerably more expensive than having it on your own server. They and of course we all love data centers and that's where the clouds are. >> So I did ask Mitch what happens if he leaves because um similar to the planner and and our engineering contract, I said, "You know what? I really like you. You perform and you get the job

029done right away. Um what happens if you leave?" and he of course says I have no intentions in leaving but there is a clause that we can we can um get out of the agreement we just have to give written notice. So it's similar to like all of our agreements you have to give a written notice. Theirs is 90. I'm going to see if they'll accept 60 but no promise no promises on that but I'll try. >> Okay. >> So our storage is it only in one spot or is it more than one spot? >> It's more than one spot. So like a Mariscan has their own little cloud that they're storing and then VC3 it's on their server and then they have their own little area that they're they're backtracking everything. So it's not

030in one spot. >> Yeah. I had one I was with one company and we had two backups and the one one was caught on fire and we were lucky that we had our own backup. >> Yes. So >> which is going to bring up my question. Mike, do we have a backup here? So, we're going to the cloud. Everything's fine. Do we have a backup in case lightning strikes in the clouds? >> Yeah, that's what Paul was saying. >> So, as long as we've got a backup here. >> Yeah, we have more than one backup. >> They have a backup in case of three and we have our own right here. >> Okay. >> Which is the servers that we're talking about. >> Yes. >> And he said they're just out. They're just outdated now.

031>> And I've lost my place. I'll just go ahead. I'm gonna make a motion. I'm gonna make a motion to approve the revised VC3ear agreement and the prices starting for the first year of $2,27.36. And that also brings gives us um Mitch Smith. >> I'll support. >> Okay, we have a motion and we have support. Any other comments? is in proclamation. >> Jenny Eller, >> yes. Mary Frost, >> yes. >> Edo, yes. >> Karen Donald, yes. Donald, yes. Yes. Supervisor, >> yes. That passes. Okay. Now, we'll vote on item number seven. This has to do with the police, the fire chief here. Yeah. Don't get me interrupted. >> I'm the good guy. >> We save you for life. >> We know you're the good guy. Um, so I actually uh I'm sorry I had to

032present this back to the board. I I screwed up all these years of doing stuff and making sure I have a contract with the um the invoice and all that. I forgot the uh the contract to have Davis look at it. So if we could please move that forward. I I apologize for >> and I'm not on the name because I >> pancake house in my mind. So I put down I >> So this was a this was a sink. I own it and uh goes back to the board. like I did last month. You still screwed it up. >> It was both of us. I had the wrong name. I'll make a motion to approve Greg Brad Goodman Solutions LLC for IHOP Software contingent upon the township attorney approving the agreement for 1890 and

033the annual renewal um starting at 2100 from 20636934003. >> Support. Okay, >> we have a motion that we have support. Any comments? No comments. >> Roll call, please. >> Ed, >> yes. >> Jenny, yes. >> Mary Frost, yes. >> Karen, yes. Mike McDonald, >> Yes. Pearson. >> Yes. That passes. >> Thank you for making that official. Um, I said thank you for making that official. I'm good. Thank you. Public forum. >> Yes. Public forum. You don't want to sit down. some sleep. >> That's all. >> We're going to go to fire chief form now. >> No, I'm good. >> Okay. Okay. Public form. Anybody in the public would like to speak? >> I do have something actually. I forgot. Mmma grants for security. I I hope that the fire department hopefully can jump on that

034if that's possible. >> Yes. >> Yeah, if we could. That would be great if we could because I we have a lot of patient identification and stuff just like you guys up here with everything in township and I think that we have to we do have our own server and we have it backed up and all the other stuff but you made me concerned when you started talking about that. I'm thinking man we got a lot of >> very big end of this now and they're putting their money where their mouth is. They they understand that's one of their number one liabilities right now is getting hacked. Yeah. Okay. So they're willing to help you at 50%. >> Yeah. Good. So >> Bruce, >> yes. >> Since it is public forum, I would appreciate chief

035coming up and letting people know what all the fire department's been going through for the last week, if you will. >> Um well, nightmare. >> We uh Well, thank you. Yeah, it was uh kind of busy, but that's what we signed up for. So um Friday started the mess, right, with all the winds. We had um three possible structure fires. One was actually um a structured fire with candles burning. Luckily, the lady woke up early enough um and we were able to put it out pretty quick. Um we had a big mutual lake yesterday evening with Orian had a big grass fire pallet fire thing going on over there. We had our own um grass fire going up here all at about 11:30 last night. So, we were up for quite a while and wanted

036calls back and forth and just weird anomalies, PE car accidents and things. So, it actually has been busy the last uh in the for for us um since Friday, but we're managing everybody's getting uh and it's nice that the shift rotates after 24 hours, right? So, they can go home to go to sleep and next people if they can't sleep at night, right? Because we're running so much. >> Is that unusual to have a grass fire this time of year? Um, not with electrical lying down and arcing the fence and starting it all fired. So, yeah. >> Yeah, >> it was all electrical issues, Paul. So, thank you. >> I was just clarifying that. >> Thank you. >> Well, for my own part, I wanted to express the appreciation of the township for what you

037guys have been doing. >> Mayor saying yes is our appreciation. >> It's been lights all over the place. So, I'll put I'll put our ends. >> Well, thank you. >> We we did uh compared to everyone else, we did fair pretty well here on the electricity. >> They got turned back on pretty quick. >> Get it back on. >> Yes. >> And um I had a meeting uh today with um Elizabeth Bogle, who is our representative for DTE. Um and uh she um handles Oxford and Addison which comes out of the LA Pier. Everyone else gets their service from >> either Shelby or Orchard Lake. But um but now we have a and I gave uh myself and uh Mike and I give uh Pauline the telephone number direct to her that she gave to

038us that we can now call her. So now we have somebody that representative. >> Yeah, you know, honestly. >> Oh, I I just got it. I'm just I made a >> So, I I would like that, too, because I want to make sure that when I build DT on certain calls that we agreed a long time ago with Pelchesco, remember? I want to make sure that agreement is still going, which they have been paying them. I think our my last one was less than a year ago and they paid. So, hopefully I can have a number then. Thank you again. I uh I got along very well with her today because she used to be the deputy supervisor of Clinton Township. So, she knows township government very well and she was very amable to and

039knew our situation which I was very impressed that she knew about us being associated with um a peer. So, um I will get those numbers out. I made copies. They're sitting on my desk. >> Perfect. Thank you. But she said, "Don't give those out anybody wants it." >> Okay. Um, are we done with public forum? I think so. That's it. Okay. Or as we call it, fire chief forum. Um, township board reports. Anybody on the board have any reports from your board? >> No. I have a meeting for the municipal waste management next week and uh but it's been relatively quiet at at that board and we also got a notification from the Oakland County Treasurer's office that if any residents have questions about foreclosures or have worries about it that they're available to help.

040So if you need more detailed information uh please contact township provider. >> Okay. >> Who's on the polyan trail committee? You guys are. Um well, they let me tell you they all those tree branches and stuff. I went for a walk, they're all gone already. So, what's her name? Did a great job. So, we might want to thank her that she cleared that up immediately. >> That was amazing. I said we're going to be walking over branches and nope. >> I said okay. Uh anybody else on the >> say reports? Nobody. Uh, then we'll go to supervisory report. Um, >> can I do communication? >> Oh, >> so we did receive one from Calvin and I think Bruce addressed it. Y >> well in the other part and then we have one from Paul Hosner

041and it concerns the use of propeller propellerdriven electric motors to break up ice around Lake and he's requesting that we look into this matter. Both of these will be on file um at the clerk's office. I I would just add that that was presented to the lake board association and apparently they don't want to take up this issue because some people have them some people don't and um so I don't know the township wants to take that issue up and supersede what the lake association has but any that's the communication. Um so now I'll go to uh supervisory report. Um I would just like to say that um I did meet with the road commission. I have thanked them. It's a thankless job. Um you know they're trying but the frost is coming out. It

042it happens every year. Um I don't know you know people who have lived out here for a while do understand that. But as soon as the frost comes out and dries up a little bit, they'll have the roads up. But they are putting an awful lot of dirt. And I have called them at least um shoot at least a dozen times now. And they have responded every time to the roads that are bad. So >> and add to your list when you call. >> Which one? >> Add brick. >> Yes. Well, yeah. That's >> brick is a good road. >> Yeah, that's good right now. just botting through with the Jeep and what was >> Yeah, >> I avoid little short wheel >> days. >> But anyway, so I I I'm still in contact with
