All stand. I pledge algiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. >> I still think that an invocation is needed. Right. and understand the true needs of our citizens. Give us the ability to work together in harmony even when there may be honest disagreement. I pray for the agenda set before us today. Please give us assurance of what would please you, what would benefit those who live or work in and around the beloved township. This and in your blessed name I pray. Amen. >> Thank you. We have roll please. >> Yes. >> Here >> McDonald >> here. >> Bennett present. Supervisor Pearson >> present. All accounted for. Okay. Announcements any? >> No. >> Department
reports as usual available in my office. Petitions. >> Excuse me. We do have somebody reporting for the seniors. Mary Spear Spearman. >> Spearman. >> Yes. >> Oh, okay. Yeah. An update on the city. Did Did you want to give an update right now? >> Well, actually, I'm uh the new representative Oakland County Senior Advisory Council representative for District 5. and I wanted to introduce myself and let you know what the senior advisory council does because this is new to this area. >> Well, let's take the time and do it right now. >> Okay. >> And we won't hold you up all night, you know. >> Okay. So, anyway, the senior advisory council was one of several established in 1992 by El Brooks Patterson. The mandate and purpose of the senior advisory council is to inform
the county executive of older adults needs and services to identify gaps in the older adult network and to collaborate with organizations and centers serving Oakland County senior adults. Its appointed members accomplish this by actively working with the recognized senior centers in the respective districts to gather information on needs services there as well as share identified emerging issues, needs, and challenges with the county executive and with their respective county commissioner. The goal is to be an effective conduit between the county administration and the county senior centers. And this conduit goes both ways. I come in and I'll be speaking to Marie at least on a monthly basis, if not more. And then she can pass along to me any ideas, needs, uh concerns, and I can pass it along to the appropriate county agency through the
uh the council. This includes sharing information on senior needs, concerns, activities and um activities that have been implemented and list of available resources. At this time, the senior advisory council is the only council still reporting to Oakland County Executive. Currently, the county consists of 23 members, one representative for each of the current commissioner districts and up to four members at large with special knowledge or expertise. Additional support is supplied by the county department of health and human services. Excuse me. The Senior Advisory Council works closely with the 37 senior centers in the county, Oakland County Older Adult Services, the Oakland County Health Department, Ageways, which was formerly the Area Agency on Aging, the Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency, Energizing Connections for Healthier Oakland, the National Association of Counties, the Oakland County Sheriff's Office, office, the
Oakland County Parks and Wreck, and the Oakland Transit Authority. I'm honored to have been selected to represent District 5, which includes Oxford, Addison, and it does go all the way down into Rochester, but because there is another representative that is much closer than I would be to OPC in Rochester Hills, they're taking that so I don't have to make that trek all the way down there. Uh, but I am honored to have been selected to represent district 5 and I look forward to working with Marie as well as Dawn Medy over at the Oxford Senior Center. Thank you. And if at any time you would like to uh voice any concerns or you have any requests, I'm available pretty much all the time. >> Well, thank you. >> Okay. Thank you very much. >> Very
helpful. >> And we have a great senior center here and you can make it even better. That would be terrific. And I would I I told Maria if there's anything that I can do to help uh bring county resources in, whether it's somebody from the speakers bureau uh or any of the other county u uh resources that they have. I'd be more than happy to be the point person to help her out with that. So, >> yeah. Okay. >> Someday I might even be a senior and I might join that. >> Me, too. >> Thank you. >> Okay. Thank you very much. >> Thank you. Okay. Now we're on to um petitions. Uh we don't have any none order of business. Uh approval of the agenda. >> Yes. I'd like to add um and since
there is it's not an action item, could we please add the budget as an introductory item to number four? >> Make a motion to approve the agenda with addition of the township budget to item number four. >> I'll second that. >> And we have support. >> Anybody have anything they'd like to add? Not hearing anything. Can we have a roll call on that, please? >> Karen Gle, yes. Jenny Eller, >> yes. >> Mary Frost, yes. Ed Breville, yes. Mike McDonald, >> yes. >> Bennett, yes. Supervisor Pearson, >> yes. Okay. It's on consent agenda. >> Yes. the approval of the October 20th 25 minutes, approval of the October invoices, and the resolution for the 2026 Cemetery Peace schedule. >> I'll make a motion to approve the consent agenda as presented. >> I'll second. >> We have
support. Does anybody have any comments from the board? >> Not hearing anything. Can we have a roll call that please? >> Ed. >> Yes. >> Jimmy Allen. Yes. Mike McDonald. >> Yes. >> Mary Frost. >> Yes. >> Karen Gel. >> Yes. Yes. Ready? >> Yes. Okay. Move on to item number two. Resolution adopting or amending the following ordinances to the court of ordinances. Appendix A, zoning in the following sections. Ordinance 25-6. Article 4 pocket parks. New Ordinance 25-07. Article 4.19 private roads ordinance 25-08 C1 ordinance 25.09 09 C2 ordinance 25-10 R2 and 25-11 multiple districts anybody >> I I read through a lot of this Pauline probably has a lot of information on this so >> I could share if you want but also I mean it wasn't on the original agenda but the resolution
olution includes ordinance 25.12 article 24. >> Okay. So, do you want to add that? >> No, everybody has that. It's it's added, but it's in this part. >> I know Pauline spent a lot of time on this and I I read through all of the uh ordinances and um it's quite intense as far as I'm concerned. Um it's but it looks like um everything is for the betterment of the community. Does anybody have any any questions on this? >> I've got a comment. >> Yes. >> During the ZBA meeting, I spoke with Mark Smith, which is the chairman of the planning commission. He said they all worked well with it. They worked hard to try to get it for the betterment of the community. and he was hoping that uh everything goes good tonight. >>
Hey, anybody else have any comments on it? It was a I think it'll solve a lot of our problems that we have, especially with the private roads. Um that's always been an issue. Um and it does add the pocket parks, which is a great idea. I mean, you see that down in the southern end of the county and the neighborhoods. Um anyways, uh so I think it's a resolution adopting or amending the following ordinances. I read those already. Um and if anybody has any more comments otherwise >> this just brings us up to to we've kind of been lacking on this. >> So this brings us all up to what's more >> what is more in our community. >> Yeah. Things that we've been missing. Yes. I think it's a positive for the community and
I thank Paul colleague for doing all of that because that's a lot of work there bring it to everyone's attention. Um so what I'm looking for is to move the resolution adopting all of these ordinances. >> I'll be happy to move this resolution forward. I'll second that. >> Yeah, we have a motion and we have a second. Any further comments on this roll, please? >> Karen G. Yes. Mary Frost, >> yes. >> Mike McDonald, >> yes. >> Jenny Eller, >> yes. >> Bennett, yes. Rise, >> yes. Resolution is so moved. We'll go on to uh item number three, which is notice a temporary schedule of change to the township hours, temporary 4day uh work week. >> Does anybody have any questions on the 4-day work week? >> This is what's being proposed to to be
given to the employees. Is that Yes, >> that's the first part, Karen. And then the part- timerrs once if we go forward and approve this, every employee needs one of these. And then the part- timerrs will get the second page that will actually list their new hours because the part-time hours are going to also change. So we we were able to color the full-time in this announcement. Hey, your hours are going to be blank to blank. But part- timerrs are so different that they're going to have to have a separate notice from each of the department heads what their new hours are going to be. >> I will add that the employees are looking forward to this. I think it's a great idea and um I I think it is a good idea and uh
we'll put this on a temporary schedule and then I'll report back to the board how it's working. So once I had a chance to come down from the elections and ponder this, I realized that they're really not getting paid anymore than what they're getting paid now. It's going to still be 40 hours, 280 hours yearly. Um, in my mind, the employees that are here, we want to retain them. So in my mind, I think it's another tool in our toolbox for employed retention that does not cost the township additional funds. And with that, I would like to move forward and I feel comfortable in making a motion to approve the notice of temporary schedule of change and to temporarily change the township hours to a 4day work week as noted in the schedule. >> I
support the motion. >> Okay, we have a motion and we have support. Any comment from the board? Not hearing any. Can we have roll call and resc? >> Yes. >> Jenny Ellen, >> yes. >> Frost, >> yes. >> Karen, yes. Mike McDonald, >> yes. >> Bennett, yes. Supervisor, >> yes. Okay. And that passes. Okay. We'll move on to item number four, which is the 2026 27 uh police and fire budget and also um the introduction of the budget for the township. Um, Chief, we'll start with you if you got a moment there. >> Yep. >> Um, kind of explain. We know you run a tight ship over there, so tell us how tight it is. >> Um, well, our capital, just for everybody realize that we have two different budgets, a capital budget and an
operating budget. Um, they've went up a little bit due to the increase in taxes, um, or property values, I should say. Um, not by much though, but we do have uh 378,000 for capital. We'll be moving that around. As you remember, I'll be giving out a um a uh budget and show you a 10-year outlay of our purchases and stuff like I normally do um as we approve the budget. Um the operating budget as well. Um it did go up a little bit this year for our um total operating budget because we're anticipating that new person that was approved by the board that EMT to medic position that was approved in the summertime. I still have not filled that position uh because we're waiting for some um candidates in the department internally um to get
the right credentials to be able to apply for that position. And we also have people outside um applying for that. We have 20 we had 24 applicants and uh 12 we're going to interview this Thursday for that position. Um and we have two guys actually uh left. One guy left to another job um opportunity closer to home. Um a really good job for him and we have another guy retiring. So I actually have three positions open right now. Um I had interviews for a um I'm sorry I know this doesn't have anything to do with the budget but it does when we get there. So um we had um some medics that we interviewed um one gentleman was offered the position uh two weeks ago. No call no show goes to us. So I have
no idea what that was about. Uh turned out to be a really good guy unfortunately. So now we have to go back out and advertise again for another medic position. Um, so just give you an idea. It's not easy. You can offer him the job and ready to go and drove down here twice for an interview and it just it it's just weird and and the pays we're not paying bad now. There's a good pay here, right, for the amount of work that we do and things that just unbelievable. So anyway, that's uh covers the operating um budget. U more to come with that that just struggled with hiring anybody, I guess. So, I'll I'll give you guys an update hopefully next month on that. Um, but again, you have my uh operating and capital
budget numbers there. I don't anticipate any other changes. Um, and I think if there's any other questions, anybody have any questions for me? I'll entertain those. And and again, once everything's approved, I'll give you guys an actual um brochure, pamphlet or whatever you want to say. >> I just wanted to add I do know you have one of the fireman that's retired, which is Ken, right? >> Yeah. Ken Copper. >> And he was a a great guy and I did talk with him and thank him for his service for all these years. He was an engineer and he was very talented on fixing stuff. Yeah, he was um he saved us a lot of money with all of our maintenance stuff cuz he had the credentials to be able to work on emergency vehicles and
stuff and um really honestly that guy um it saved us more money than what we're paying them honestly and all the repairs that we've done and and knowledge that we learned from him, right? So >> because we do a lot of our repairs ourselves, you know, calling the company. >> Okay. So you're in pretty good shape then? >> Uh yes. Very good. Any questions from the board? >> Oh, I do also want to say I almost forgot and I think I know it. I'm reading Mike's mind. I did want to say that we're going to we were scheduled to pay $100,000 from the township uh loan for station 2. Um this year we actually were able to up that to two 200,000. So I wanted to make sure that you guys realize that and that's
more money for you guys to be able to work on whatever you need. Um, I didn't we don't need it this year and I a able to move things around. I had a little more money talking with the treasurer. There was a little more money in the cost recovery fund than what I anticipated. So, we're able to do that and um get that paid off. So, now it's 10 and some thousand we'll have to pay and hopefully the next budget year we can settle that up a little faster than what we thought in the four years. >> Very good. >> Well, all we can say is thank you. >> Yeah. No, thank you. >> It's been it's a pleasure working with you, Jerry. Yeah, you >> really step up when it comes to the budget.
>> Yeah, that's one of my things I really like. >> And we like >> I don't know why, but >> we like it when you pay us back. >> So, okay. Very good. Any questions from anybody? >> Okay. Well, thanks, Jerry. >> Thanks. >> Um I we do have the police budget here. I just want to just emphasize to everybody, you you everybody should understand that we keep an eye on the police budget very carefully because as you know um the county uh board up the prices on us on um on the police contracts um dramatically and um we took steps ahead of time so that uh down the road here a couple years a big rages come in from the county and I'm making sure that what we bring in is what we have.
Okay? So that we don't if we had continue on on the line of the officers that we had, we would have run short by the last year. So, I took the measures ahead of time to make some changes so that by the third year, we're still even because I do not know after this third year contract is up, how much more the county commissioners are now going to raise us. Nobody knows that. And all of the townships are in the same boat. Um, like several townships had to lay off deputies. And so I just want to make sure that we have enough in there to continue with the uh men that we have now. Um because I don't know what the raises are going to be in the future. So we prepared ahead of time.
So at least for the next several years, we're okay, but we'll find out when the county commissioners give us the new contract. So I just wanted to bring that up. So, um you can see that we have a um a balanced budget there. Uh we're hoping, of course, that you know, we have new homes coming online and new, uh businesses and stuff. So, we are collecting more. I just don't know if it's going to be enough to offset what the county is cuz, you know, they gave us what a the 38% increase. Okay. >> Yeah. And that was very hard to take because we would have liked to have added more officers, but at this time that's not a possibility. So, does anybody have any questions on that? No questions on that. Um, and then
you see the uh budget for the township just introducing it. just take it, go back and look it over um when you're watching uh television, you know, kind of thumb through it. >> Me, too. >> So, kind of thumb through it and just if there's any ideas, if you can think of any way that we can save money, please let us know. But, um uh right now, I think, um every department is working on it and hopefully um we'll start talking about it. For right now, we're just introducing it. So, um, there's no action needed at this time. So, anybody have any questions? >> I will when I start reading it. >> Okay. Don't fall asleep. Yeah. >> Okay. >> Might be able to understand it, too. So, >> it it is, you know, it
is hard to understand unless you're a CPA, you know. >> So, but anyways, um then no action needed on this. We'll just uh let everybody go through that and um then we'll move on to the next thing. Okay, the next one is that u VC3ear contract agreement. Um um and we also need to know whether or not we want the additional security at $2,646 or the less we want it $1,8646. Um, I know Pauline's worked on this. Um, I just want to know what what was the effective date of this contract? >> So, this contract, our current contract is going to run through 331 of 2026 for budgetary purposes, especially when there are a large ticket item. I think it's important for us to um be prepared. So I did ask him to give us
this in advance so that we could budget appropriately which I which I did in that budget. Um so typically this this firm they've been giving us really good service but they have been increasing our rates by 3,000 per year which is understandable for a corporation. They're going to have to increase to for their fair share of employees etc etc and their equipment. So, I asked I asked him and I gave the board a copy of the email. I asked him if he would go through what this new agreement is because this is going to be a $4,000 jump. So, I asked him to go through what the new agreement would entail and then also I asked him what could we cut out of the agreement so that it would be a $4,000 jump from what
we're currently paying. So that's where we're getting the 186406 monthly payment versus the um 264. So, in a in a nutshell, and I'm not a techie geek, so I can't explain everything he said, but he did say that we could save $200 a month if we eliminated where I we would have talks as far as what equipment needs to be set up for replacement, what equipment can stay later. So, it's basically just a conversation and it's like, well, Mitch, I can do that right now with you. So, it's like, I don't think I really need to have these reports. Um, I already know that he's going to say six computers are due for replacement, which we didn't we I we didn't budget for that because we already upgraded all of the computers, so that was
quite costly. So, um I'm okay with going with the 1864. I just really want this company because one, if somebody has a problem, they respond right away and they fix the problem. We have not had any issues as far as um our system being hijacked or anything being broken into. I mean, they have their setup is good. Are they expensive? Yes. Are we going to get something cheaper? Don't know. But I I kind of want to go with a known commodity for something so sensitive as this. Well, and I'd like to add that our insurance carrier, MMRA, uh Tim, who represents our representative, he uh explained to me that this is an imperative that we maintain a really good service because they are now paying ransom to a few municipalities who didn't have a good
system to get theirs back online. And I I did read through this and this has a good backup system everything. So we're we're covered. >> Go for the 24 because they are adding services to protect us. It's actual extra security, >> right? And I agree that you know we wanted the best because um these other municipalities were shut down completely. They lost everything unless they paid the ransom and then they wanted in Bitcoin, you know. Um, so good thing Bitcoin is down now. Last month it was up. Okay. But so to me, you know, all this computer stuff is foreign to people my age and you know, but it's really important stuff and we certainly don't want to get uh someone to get our information or disturb all of our uh financial stuff and everything
or steal our money or anything like that. So, um I would say we should pay for a good service. It's foolish not to pay for a good service um because that could cost us a heck of a lot more. But anybody have any comments? >> So is the $200 a month is that for this u essentials proactive server monitoring and maintenance thing? >> So this is his response. You asked me in our phone call today if there's anything you could do without. If we took a look at one tier lower in the agreement, really the main thing you would lose is a strategy portion of the agreement. Item five, line J. I was mistaken in thinking you would lose the other tools as we talked about earlier. You would in fact still get those lower
tier agreement as well. So really the difference is the proactive strategy portion. So I don't know exactly what all is involved in the proactive strategy portion. >> Right. But I think you just answered my question that that is the part that he's saying would this is what we would not get for the $200 is this monitoring and maintenance annual strategic planning session. You said proactive thing. That's what this is. Okay. >> Or yes, I think. Okay. >> No, >> I'm not sure. Um but he does point to item 5J which includes that annual strategy as that if that was eliminated it would result in the reduction that Pauline uh explained. In other words, we're not paying $200 a month to have somebody take a look at our situation every month and tell us whether it's
good or bad. I mean, that's kind of what >> Well, they would also run tests. I mean, they would run fishing tests so that to see if the employees are trained not to open things. Um, we never we never prescribed to that service before either. So, there's more than just talk, but I didn't get into how much more the proactive strategy portion would cover because I really thought that um the board would be concerned with a dollar amount. So, I was like, "Hey, you got to lower this. I don't want to lose this service. >> I guess I'm not clear on what the $200 is going to save us. Like what is it? What are we not going to get for the $200 box? >> It's it's not going to reduce what we have now.
It's an enhancement >> that that we don't need. I mean, in my opinion, >> it's a it's having a IT manager that whose only priority is to look at our system, determine whether we've got up-to-date hardware, up-to-date software, and we generally find that out the hard way anyways. >> So, you mean that's somebody that would be in here all the time, or is that they're still at the company doing that? >> I think there would be more than that for $200 a month in this proactive I mean, I don't know what it is, but that's a lot for them just to call me once a month and and do that. So, >> but that's everything in this little portion here that says local and off-site data backup of server data. Like, we don't want to
not have that. >> That's Yeah, that's >> No, that's >> my understanding and what I understand from his email is no, that's not the annual strategy is the title. It's at the top of the second page of this email. >> So that's the only that's the only item here in J that they would take off for $200. >> $200 a month, which seems like a considerable sum. We can certainly get that confirmed, right, Paul? I can get it confirmed, but I would think that the motion would have to be definitive so that we would be able to determine if we want the 24 4,000 a year or the other, but that's I mean, >> so we can do that next month. >> I mean, he he was specific that that is the only thing he
would remove. So, I I do trust him as far as telling me that that's the only thing that he would be comfortable in us removing. Whether or not we want to do it, it's another story. >> I don't think we need to pay $200 a month for an annual strategy. >> Now that I understand what I'm looking at, >> yeah, >> so we're looking Oh, go ahead. >> I've been trying to stay as quiet as I can. that this whole contract is just a discussion amongst oursel and I'm hearing more. I'm not sure exactly what that means, but I'll check it out or uh this item needs to be cleared up a little bit. Why don't we do this? Why don't we invite I believe his name is Mitch, the guy that's running the show
here, to show up next month and explain this contract if we have to. is a lot of money. And I hate to I hate to pull the way they did with the what is it? Obamacare. I've got to read vote yes and then I'll read it. Um I'm having a hard time saying I will vote yes. And I would like to but I'm having a hard time cuz I don't understand it even after I talked to Mitch today. It's just a lot of computer charting he was giving me and I said I don't understand why certain prices are what they are. Oh, it's because of da da da da da da da. And I said I can't justify it tonight. And so when I hung up the phone, the last thing I said to him
is I'm having a hard time justifying it and explaining it because somebody asked me to explain this after I talked to you. I still couldn't explain this contract. And I think Mitch should show up and say, "Let's answer all these questions right here now." And he's sitting in the audience or standing at the podium and we could ask him the questions and then he could answer them for his representative from the company. That's I'm not just having a problem. That's a lot of money to pay that I'm not 100% satisfied that I understand this contract. So, I think I'm still going to be confused whether he's here or not because or he could be on the phone. I'm Yes, I I am going to suggest phone because I don't know where he's located. >> He
could do he could do it. >> When I read this, >> I'm confused. And when I talk to Dick, I'm like, "Okay, that is all techy stuff." I'm still going to be just as confused because this is all techy stuff and this is all services that they're going to offer us. I have no objection to seeing images available for phone conversation for the board, but we're all going to be just as confused and we are we already have most of the service already. So, it's just a continuation. >> Well, we this doesn't expire till March, but again, you were looking ahead because for the budget. >> Yes. So I I have no objection to see if he can do a phone call, which I did for tonight, but he had already had a prior commitment.
So I can see if he's available for our next meeting, so that he can go through it. But it's all techy talk. >> Maybe we'll understand it 10% better next time. But it's I mean, I'm kind of I'm the same. I'm not a techie person. I am not >> I understand we need something and it's important but >> the other thing that I didn't do because I wanted to make sure what what we wanted to do before I sent the agreement to Davis. So whether it be tonight or at the next meeting um it would be contingent upon Davis reviewing the agreement because he has not seen it yet. But he's he's going to be looking at the fine print, not the techy jargon. >> And I've got one more comment. The last thing I
said to him, Karen, I said, we have a lawyer sitting on our board and I'm sure Karen Bob a lot of questions and I hope you can answer them. You got to understand the substitute part asking question. We're not good at understanding this. >> Talk just prolonging. >> You're a lawyer. There's a lot of different kinds. >> I mean, I don't even really know what BS3 is. Our I this is how I know BS3. When I look at my township emails, I see little talk that we got in 2020, which is very heavy by the way. Um I see that they, you know, prioritize like all the stuff that I shouldn't be saying that they don't even see this stuff >> and I don't bother to look at it anymore to make sure is takes
it all away. >> Right. Okay. So, that's that's the extent of what I know about PS3. I also know that I talked to somebody at one point when I couldn't get into my email and that was it. Other than that, I don't know what is VS3. What do they do for us? >> Well, what I'd like to say, I guess, is number one that the company has served us well. Okay. We haven't had any issues um as far as anybody hacking into our system. And if it ever was, they always notified us to be careful about certain things. So, the company I believe is really a good company. It's just whether or not we want that $200 extra amount. >> No, that's the only >> that's the bottom line. I think >> that's the only
question. >> The $200 I think we can do without, but >> it's the pleasure of the board. You know, I understand if we get if we get 10 different companies in here and they all explain what they're offering, none of us are going to understand how indepth all of this security stuff is. So, >> well, I did I did ask them, why are you talking about Microsoft 365 putting them on the computers and everything when we're already using Microsoft 365? certain number of people have 365 on their computers. Then he started talking about the cloud international doing national cloud international cloud and I said well >> okay fine >> they explained it to me that it's a double tier security and that's why we went to this and >> you know I'm just saying the
more security we have the better off we are and that's why even they came out and said their security that they had was good but not as good as having the double tier so that's where I went to the Microsoft that's the That's how I put they explained it to me. So now we have a a you know two-stage security system. So >> yeah, >> when it comes to this kind of stuff is it's it's like taking your car in and asking a guy how come that fuel injection isn't working and he starts telling you all of this stuff and then you say >> that's a good comparison. >> Okay. How much is >> I did that with a tire last time >> right? And then sometimes you might ask them, "What can I actually
do without saying this? >> Can we take the filter out?" >> So we're pretty much saying the Jay that he's he's suggesting that we take out. That's the warranty plan. >> That's the only thing he is comfortable with us removing. He's not saying, "Yeah, do it." He's just saying, "That's the only thing I'm comfortable with with us removing and we'll save the $200. And usually >> I'm comfortable with renewing with the company they have served as well. >> Oh, I am too. >> Yeah. And I look at all the other security measures that they offer. >> That's Yeah. >> I mean >> there are no commodity. It's like we have not had any issues with any with any computer failure. I'm ready to go forward. Well, one more question. Would this allow would this type
of security, Mike, would this allow people to be able to pay their taxes online? >> They're totally independent systems. >> Okay. >> Cuz we we do we use the county system. It's good. It's bad. But they they're responsible for their security. If somebody hacked in, they'd have to not only get through our security, but also learn, I believe, before there be any uh financial data or anything transmitted. Unfortunately, this is the price of doing business in this world. If you're going to use computers, this is the price that you have to pay. And if you don't pay it, you'll be sorry later. So, um >> the insurance company. Go ahead. >> I'd like to like to offer a motion to authorize the supervisor to sign the BC3 contract subject to confirmation that the lower tier
will only remove the annual strategy component and still provide all the security measures subject to review by legal counsel. Um, may we add at the with the start date of this agreement at the um end of our current agreement? >> You may add that. >> And then typically um because I am here I don't think it matters who signs them, but typically I might end up signing this one. So could you say could you say supervisor or clerk? >> That's fine. That's fine as well. Second, I'll support. >> We have a motion and we have support. Any comments? >> Yes, Andy. >> I think the motion should also include the price of this contract. So, the people out there watching know that we're just about to spend $20,000 in taxpayer money and we'd have a
lot of questions to ask about this in advance. if you want to move on forward with it, but that's a lot of money for us to have so many questions with this contract. But I appreciate you wanting to move forward. Well, I I think if if they can't meet this test of providing everything they've promised except for the annual strategy at at maybe it go it does bear saying at a price of $1,864 a month, then we're not interested. >> What I'm going to do, don't add this to the motion. What I'm going to do tomorrow is I'm going to contact him and I'm going to ask specifically tell me what what is going to delete be deleted from the contract. So then we'll know for sure what it is and then we can move
forward. >> Okay, we had a motion. Did we have a a support? >> I support. >> Any other comments? >> Still want to do I still want to? Yeah, I guess. No. Yeah, I mean we still have to get I mean it's going to be reviewed and it's not like it's the solid right now. We're still pretty >> let's go for it. So this is I need to make sure I understand this is contingent then on the follow up what Mike's put in there that it has to be an explanation to our clerk and our legal has to review it all those okay >> right because we just want to we want to understand if that's the only thing that's going to be deleted is that talk that they might have on a monthly basis.
>> Okay. So, I'm going to go Jenny Alber. >> Yes. >> Mary Frost, >> yes. >> Ed, >> yes. >> Harry, yes. Michael, >> Yes. Supervisor, >> yes. Okay. Got your marching orders. Okay. Uh, public forum. Anybody in the public would like to speak there, chief? Anybody? Can you hold the card up? Yeah. Hold the crowd back. Okay. Public forum. Nobody. Okay. Addison Township board. Do you have any reports from any of your board meetings? >> The planning commission met last week. We met with our new planner, um, Amy Bontmpo with the Grow. Um, I think she's going to be a real positive asset for us. We spent a lot of time as you are aware going through so many ordinances. So I think that she's going to be a positive as aspect for us
to u bring things to >> how we how are they doing on the u with the uh legislation on >> uh we meet we only meet twice a month now and we're actually meeting next Monday. So, um, but the last update was nothing like it's just I don't know if I nothing happened, >> but we might have more updates next week this week. >> Okay. >> Was um I saw a few blurps >> that it wasn't going very well in the legislation. That's what I was wondering. >> Yeah, I probably know more next month I can report that. >> Okay. Um, legal reports, communications, none. Uh, supervisor board. Um, I just wanted to say also, um, in this budget year, our building will be paid off. Our last payment was in February. So, we are
we are partying. >> It was a great >> bring a cake, chief. Okay. And and a big check like you were going to give. >> Well, as long as you wipe mine out, we'll I'll take out and refreshments. And um I I just wanted to I think I might have told everybody, but um uh there's a kind of a dangerous spot right there at Maple Cove pulling out on a Maple Cove. Um it brought to my attention that um >> which end of Maple Cove >> that be on the west end on the south side right by the uh Ben Breakfast there. >> Okay. And what I don't know why the county never put a um >> safety. >> Yeah, they never put a ashalt runner there for people because what happens now is the
gravel is right up to the shoulder and when you go to take off, nobody can get traction to get out into the highway. And so it was brought to my attention and um I did um uh address it in the sense that I got a hold of the Asheville company while they're ashvaulting the um parking lot for the library if they uh could give me a bid on that. It came out to $4,800 to do what the county wanted. I got a hold of the county and they said uh no that they don't need to review that that we can go ahead and put the asshalt there uh because it's a safety issue. I got a hold of our attorney uh Davis. He reviewed the contract and said yes, it was an emergency on an
emergency basis. Well, then since I did that, um Mr. Mark Smith then said um he would like to make it a little bit wider and he would donate $5,000 of his own money. So I contacted Mr. Davis and he said that was completely fine. And I contacted the Asheville company. They said they will now widen it out even more. Uh because for the 4,800 we were just making a straight run. But after I went over and reviewed it, looked at it, um it would be nice to make it a wider one and it's going to now go back more than the 25 ft. That's the only one in the township that I saw. There is the other one on Maple Cove also on the south side heading east, but that one you come up and
it's a plateau more so they don't have this the spinning. this one you have to go up and when they go to go up they spin their tires anyways. So I just wanted to let you know that uh we did have $10,000 in the road emergency fund. So $4,800 I think that's money well spent and because they're there with the ashalt we're getting it cheaper. So they didn't have to bring a whole crew out. So I just thought I'd bring that out to you. Other than that, I wish everybody had a happy Thanksgiving and um eat >> make a motion to adjourn. >> All those in favor say I. >> I. >> Thank you. Tonight, what are we
