with a round of applause in an effort to recognize the highest academic achievement of students here at Beville East we have developed a program with different color honors stools the top 10% of students Kum L students are wearing red stalls the top 5% of students Magnum lat are wearing white stalls and the top 1% of students sumacum lad are wearing yellow stalls also students are wearing different colored cords they have earned in their time at Beville East through various honor societies activities achievements and programs thanks Grace now the second half of our volunteering group will continue with some Reflections for the class of 2024 there are many words that can describe high school students but there are six key characteristics that represent us Lancers best starting off the word Lancer is the letter L A
true Lancer is Limitless we are Limitless because we can construct our own identity we can be whatever we want and whoever we want to be although we have faced the battles of sleepless nights stressful tests and creative thinking we have embrace the challenge by realizing that the key to success is having a limitless mind we've had to use an open mindset when struggling to create a response on the SAT or finding a new parking spot when someone rudely steals yours obstacles in life are inevitable but the solutions to deal with them are infinite the future is in our hands and the opportunities for us are Limitless a stands for adventurous when we first descended that grand staircase onto Central Terrace none of us knew the adventure we were in for we didn't know how we
would make friends during Co how we would figure out who we are slowly but surely we'd learn drowning in those godforsaken Ed puzzles we finally turned to that one classmate invent our frustrations now we're Inseparable friends passing through the hallways we'd see a poster for the basketball team or drama club or scholar bow and say you know what why not now we have a passionate new interest High School may be over but our spirit of Adventure is just beginning to Blossom as thorough put it launch yourself on every wave n stands for nonconforming just as we all searched for that perfect one-of theind outfit for prom We have found that the most magnetic lives are the ones that shine through their originality and their boldness we stand on the cusp of a bright unknown whether
we go into University the workforce or even travel the world we are entering a new chapter of Our Lives where we must First Trust in ourselves to navigate life's every challenge even if we feel afraid we must embrace our new paths with our whole Hearts As Leaders as individuals who are unafraid to make mistakes because the only people who can Define the possibilities of our future are ourselves C stands for community throughout the past four years we have built an impressive Community with our teachers counselors and fellow classmates we Face different challenges like freshman year Google meets and the tedious science Testing together though we also celebrated each other's victories like acing an algebra exam or winning a basketball our futures will be no different we will arrive at our new destinations possibly with a
little bit of fear and we will find allow us to live out our best lives without this collaboration life may feel unbearable with it we can grow to be more Dynamic individuals who fully comprehend the importance of navigating life with a loyal and supportive Community e stands for enthusiasm this is the excitement we have as we walk the steps each August ready to start fresh in new classes with classmates we haven't seen all summer but it is the same excitement we experience during the winter when we get the call from Dr Lane saying tomorrow is a remote day our enthusiasm also runs high during homecoming week the dress up day competitions and challenges to win the spirit stick are extremely competitive but the most intense is the musical chair competition during the homecoming assembly it
might be a little too intense it isn't always about enthusiasm for big events like the first day of school homecoming week or even being here today for graduation it could be as simple as running to the front of the line to get orange chicken on Wednesdays or whenever we hear Mr padet yell l a n c e r s every single time the football team gets a first down if we all apply the same enthusiasm we've had the last four years we can accomplish whatever we set our minds to R stands for resilience bille East is not for the week everyone has faced challenges here whether it be adapting to a full schedule after covid or scrambling for prom pictures in the midst of a downpour while these obstacles may have initially tested us a
true Lancer takes pride in recovering quickly from setbacks barriers should not restrict but rather lead us into a different direction maybe you didn't get into your dream school or received the scholarships you aimed for but these setbacks will open up new opportunities to explore options that may be even better for you regardless of our plans after high school it is crucial to realize that the path is Ever Changing let's use the lessons we learned at ease to navigate whatever lies ahead with a new sense of Courage embrace the difficulties and move forward today might be the end of our high school Journey but it is also the beginning of a new chapter these six qualities build our identity as Lancers shaping our character and ensuring our success we have developed into Limitless adventurous nonconforming collaborative
enthusiastic and resilient individuals who will step out into the world world and ultimately make a difference no matter where our paths take us we can take heart knowing that our identity as a Lancer will never lead us astray so remember once a Lancer always a Lancer thank you so much and congratulations to our 2024 valedictorians it's now my honor to welcome the student council president Kirsten Rogers to the to the stage for the class farewell we have all heard that time flies when we're having fun that's probably why math class felt like two hours instead of one in a good lunch period with your friends felt like three minutes max throughout High School we've been fed many silly Expressions about time but I think now we can realize that most of the cliches are true
coming into high school we had no idea what we were in for besides not having to wear a college shirt and khaki pants every day especially our freshman year unaware that some people even existed because they happened to be an a day we were unaware of all the people we would meet and opportunities that would be presented to us time was defined with tardies 55-minute class periods early dismissals and late starts yet with each school day memories were made friendships were created assignments went missing and tests were completed now we are here graduating leaving our friends family and teachers behind to pursue whatever our hearts desire and we ask ourselves where did all the time go as freshmen it seemed that high school would last forever from sitting at the top of the bleachers at
every football game to being crowded at the front telling everyone to scoot back from fumbling at our lockers to forgetting that we even had one from waiting at the bus stop or getting dropped off on our first day of school to pulling into our parking spots on the last although everyone warned us that it would pass quickly we didn't believe them but how could we how could we know that four years of our lives would pass in the blink of an eye yet most days we would count down the second to 3:25 and bolt down the stairs to get out and now we sit here waiting for the ceremony to be over so that we can finally be graduates but as each moment passes we are not getting any of them back so as we
move from high school to something more let us take time to appreciate the now the people around us now the opportunities that we have now and remember that tomorrow is never promised so if we are always wanting more and ignoring what is right in front of us we fail to reflect on the things that we have done and who it has made us let us reflect on ourselves as freshmen sophomores juniors seniors and now graduates and learn from our mistakes and help create a future that we as individuals can be proud of while high school may have been good we are still in for the Time of Our Lives I wish all of you nothing but the best in the journey most called left that is ahead of us because being a Lancer is truly
Timeless thank you Kirsten and all of our sumacum La Representatives graduates on behalf of the faculty staff and everyone associated with Beville East it's my distinct pleasure to congratulate you on your graduation today we're proud of you you're welcome I of course want to join you in thanking your parents your family your friends everyone who's assisted you in reaching this point today I want to congratulate you you moved from B student to B alumni I want to acknowledge your accomplishment but like any educator I want to also remind you of your next assignment you've met one goal a goal you should be proud of that should be celebrated today but you're young you have many more opportunities in front of you than you can even understand as you take on these new opportunities there will
suddenly be new challenges this is when I encourage you to think back to your time here at East you learn the skills necessary and gain the resources to face any obstacle that stands in your way after today the future's up to you today's a great day but your best days are most certainly in your future no matter where you go what you do this will always be your home and you'll always be a member of the Bev family congratulations to the class of 2024 that's enough for me and let's move on to the part of ceremony everybody came for it is my duty and honor to certify that the b class of 2024 has met the graduation requirements of the state of Illinois The District 2011 Board of Education and the faculty of Bev East
