win in the end at this time ID like to share a brief story about two people who had to persevere through tough times Abraham Lincoln and Tina Turner Abraham Lincoln failed at many things in his life but each time he failed he would persevere through the times Abraham Lincoln was a failed businessman had a nervous breakdown Was Defeated for Speaker of the House Congress US Senate twice vice president but he still managed to become president of the United States of America Tina Turner was a well-known musician in music history had a turbulent childhood abandoned by our parents a victim of domestic abuse became a single mother after her divorce Tina Turner reinvented her music career at the age of 44 and became one of the greatest musicians of all time selling over 100 million albums
I challenge you to persevere if tough times come your way in this life thank you [Applause] at this time please welcome Mrs Melissa Taylor assistant superintendent of schools who has some words to share with you Mrs [Applause] Taylor good morning thank you guys I'm honored to be here today speaking on behalf of our district 2011 Administration we are all very proud of you you might have noticed that I am the only one on this stage with a cap and a tassel that's because I am also a member of the class of 2024 not because I'm graduating but because I'm retiring thank you as my career comes to an end it has dawned on me how much retirement is like graduation we have a lot in common we are all full of excitement about starting the
next chapter of Our Lives we have all been busy planning for what we're going to do next and we're all feeling a little bit sad about not seeing our friends Every Day Life won't be the same for any of us but we will all look back fondly on the great memories we've made here at bille West since you are starting out on your adult lives and I have just a little bit more experience I've been thinking about what I have to share that will help you as you go forward and I've narrowed it down to three pieces of wisdom that I've learned over the years that have really helped me in my life and in my career and I hope they will help you too the first one came from Mrs Rena Mrs Rena was
an adult sponsor of a youth organization that I was a part of as a teenager I got to work closely with her and I knew her pretty well she was someone I admired I watched her interact with people and I noticed that she had a way of treating others that was kind and compassionate there were times when I knew that she was mad at someone but she was never mean she was direct definitely not a pushover but she never yelled one time I asked her how she did that because I knew that she was being much nicer than she really wanted to be and she said Missy you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar people are much more likely to to respond to your way of thinking or do the thing that you
need them to do if you can be nice about it you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar I've also leaned on something that my grandma CLA often said there but by the grace of God go I and what she meant was don't judge people you don't know what situation they're in and you certainly don't know that you would handle it any better if it weren't for fortune or fate or God's Gra race you could have that exact same circumstance be grateful and not judgmental and finally I want to reme I want you to remember something that I learned from Ted lasso and by the way the TV show Ted lasso is absolutely absolutely full of valuable lessons if you haven't watched it I hope you will the one that I want to highlight
today is this and and I'm quoting from Ted here fairy t Tales do not start nor do they end in the dark Forest that's only something that shows up smack dab in the middle but if but it will all work out it may not work out how you think it will or how you hope it does but believe me it will all work out life is hard and it can get bumpy but we can do hard things when you get to the hard part like the Dark Forest keep going don't stop there there is another side the sun will shine again things will get better it always does fairy tales don't end in the forest so there you go class of 2024 my best advice you catch more flies with honey than with vinegar they're
by the grace of God go ey and fairy tales don't end in the forest now let's keep this thing going so we can all move our [Applause] tassels it is now my pleasure to introduce Taylor teeman student council president who will give the senior Proclamation [Applause] good morning I would first like to welcome you all to the class of 2024 commencement [Applause] ceremony my name is Taylor teeman and I'm I very grateful to be speaking to you as the executive student council president when deciding what I wanted to talk about this morning I caught myself thinking about how I can't wait to be done with this speech we all are guilty of this simple three-word phrase I can't wait we couldn't wait to be in high school to be seniors for prom and finally we
couldn't wait to graduate why what is so important that we are willing to lose out on right now as Sean linen once said life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans some of you most likely cannot wait to leave this ceremony I am here to tell you to wait you only get one high school graduation so enjoy every moment of today thank you [Applause] today we would like to honor and recognize the retiring staff of bille West and District 2011 these individuals have given tirelessly to the bille west and District 2011 family their expertise and commitment to bille West and the community has been greatly appreciated I would like to recognize our retirees Robert D Julie caping Kelly McCullen Keith muskot Jeff Riley Melissa Taylor Sher Thompson and Robin [Applause] Zelmer

0142024 please welcome the representatives from sumacumlade Isa Christian Brook Duncan Olivia iant Olivia gettinger Taylor Gody Ahmad Hamza Elizabeth camon Bryce Kerman Jacob rasmason Anna Rudolph Jade Strickland and Nicole [Applause] Wells congratulations to the class of 2024 what what a year it has been today we have all selected various song lyrics that we feel represent not only the last four years but also what is to come in our future endeavors and to start someone wise once said cuz someday soon your whole life's going to change you'll miss the magic of these good old days all the love you won't forget and all those Reckless nights you won't regret that wise person was Kesha throughout these past four years we've all had some serious learning experiences and at times I know all of us did not
want to be here School may not have always been an amazing time but eventually we will be able to look back at both the high and the low times we spent here and enjoy knowing we truly experienced the good old days and while our next speaker isn't Kesha I would like to pass it on to Brook [Applause] Duncan as we have traveled through the Halls at Beville West throughout the last four years we have all grown in different ways through the good in the bad times the ups and the downs we have stuck together as a class throughout it all all I hope that everyone can look back on their time here at West with a smile but also focus on what the future has to hold remember to never give up and to always
keep trying and with that being said and the wise words of Mr worldwide himself this is for everybody going through tough times believe me been there done that but every day above ground is a great day remember that before we step back out into the great unknown let's hear it next from Olivia [Applause] icean I'm well aware that I may not be the most qualified person to be giving out life advice but uh here I am whatever happens after we leave this football field today I hope you can approach it with all all with confidence and an open mind the future may be unknown but remember to always reach out and unapologetically seize it for yourself I can promise you that as long as we keep our futures in our own hands our class has
unlimited potential I leave you with a lyric from none other than Natasha beningfield live your Live Your Life With Arms Wide Open today is where your book begins the rest is still Unwritten I'm going to pass it on to the fabulous Olivia Ginger [Applause] as we stand here today I want us to appreciate the support that we have gotten from our parents and our families to help us get to this point I'm sure we have all had a point during our high school careers where we have struggled and wanted to give up we wouldn't be here today without the help of the people we love today is a special day for not only us but our families and friends who have supported us along the way since we are young we can't wait to grow
up and experience the World As We Stand Here most of our families are emotional because we are all grown up most of the parents and Guardians out there would agree with Taylor Swift when she's saying oh darling don't you ever grow up don't you ever grow up just stay this little because in the blink of an eye we all grew up I'm going to pass it on to someone who had the honor with growing up with since kindergarten Taylor [Applause] Gody as we stand here wondering what comes next I'm reminded of a line from the song Lose Yourself by Eminem which says so here I go it's my shot feet fail me not this may be the only opportunity that I got these oh my gosh anyway these words resonate deeply today because like the
artists we Face a moment that is filled with both immense opportunity and profound uncertainty today marks our shot Our Moment to step into the world and shape our Destinies we prepared struggled and triumphed to get here and while the future may hold its challenges our time at bille West has equipped us with the tools we need to thrive let us take this shot not just to succeed for ourselves but to contribute meaningfully to the world around us let our feet not fail us now for this is our time to shine next up we'll he we we oh my gosh we will hear from Ahmad Hamza the king of chat [Applause] GPT hello my name is zad Hamza and this speech was written with the help of chat GPT so without a further Ado let's get
started today everyone has come so far you have all overcome your destitution because as Marvin Gay once said because baby there ain't no mountain altitudinous enough in all seriousness and far away from chat GPT today I stand in front of the class of 2024 to highlight our unwavering determination a commonality shared by this class of 2024 is the resilience with which we have overcome our failures in these past four years we've all Fallen face first into puddles of mud but today I stand looking into faces teaming with the cleanliness of success so my fellow classmates remember that every hardship has a spot in your life fail often but recover quickly fail modestly it'll boost your character and fail consciously because that is where life lessons will be learned familiar to Corky pitfalls our next speaker
is my good friend Eliza camon [Applause] [Laughter] in the words of the fabulous and Infamous Hannah Montana it's not about the path I'm taking it's not about what Waits on the other side it's the climb and boy what a climb it has been from freshman year online learning to hybrid to online again we've been through a lot but though the path may have been Rocky we've made it and I for one know we made it and I for one know that I've had the best of times here with you all whether it be freezing at football games or sweating at homecoming assemblies or right now keep pushing through just like Miley or Hannah said to do even wiser than Miss Montana is my bestie Bryce Kerman serving both looks and information [Applause] all right congratulations
everyone we have finally made it here after some well interesting years throughout we've shouldered more responsibilities embracing every trial that has come our way in the Timeless words of the Lego Batman movie the Caped Crusader poises a poyant question in song who always pays their t ta es we find out that the answer is most certainly not Batman unfortunately we cannot be like Batman as I'm sure many of you have already experienced we must pay our taxes the alternative is facing down the IRS and even the Joker is scared of the IRS but amidst the obligations and uncertainties that lay ahead don't lose sight of the boundless possibilities that await each of us remember the strength that we found together congratulations once again and best of luck in the journey ahead now I'll be handing
off the mic To None of in Jacob [Applause] rasmas hello class of 2024 over the past four years we've had to deal with a lot together we lost our eighth grade graduation due to covid and we dealt with freshman year starting with remote learning we dealt with the aftermath of that we went through a lot but we dealt with the UN certainty with strength as Alicia Keys once sang They said I would never make it but I was built to break the mold the only dream that I've been chasing is my own now it's time for us to live our lives apart everyone is doing different things but if there's one group of people that I know can push through anything it's us no matter what happens we will do this class of 2024 and
now it's time to hear from Anna Rudolph [Applause] hello class of 2024 after looking around today I am sure you have realized that there are many of your classmates that you do not know it may feel strange to be celebrating this Milestone with people you have never spoken to but even though we may not all know each other we all have something in common we are all Belo West graduates and we did it together graduates please take a second to look to your left now look to the right I asked you to do this because Tim mcra reminds us when you get where you're going don't forget to turn back around and help the next one in line after all every one of us have helped each other throughout this journey somehow whether it was
holding the door in the stairwell picking up someone's pencil or even just being a friendly face we would not be here today if it weren't for the people in line with us our final speaker will be Jade [Applause] [Music] Strickland Miss Nicki Minaj described this moment best with her song moment for life it's a celebration every time we link up we done did everything they could think of greatness is what we on to bring of this this is our moment right now is the start of a new but let's not forget what we've accomplished each and every one of us has been through a lot these four years but we made it here so even if no one is here to tell you I'm proud of you not only for what you've accomplished but for
