001says Ehlers technology levy, we're going to have our superintendent explain that to us. Yeah, so we Matt was here, Matt Hammer from Ehlers, remember back in like February discussing our uh technology levy. Um so just a follow-up discussion. We talked about renewing it this fall. Uh just some details in regards to that. That was in February when he was here. Um bringing This is something that we have to go to the voters with or go to the voters. And we can either do it in 2026 or 2027, but I think we talked about doing it in 2026. If so, um you know, we're looking at approximately $370,000 uh in levy authority. It continues beginning with taxes payable 2028, 2029. Understand that we are not asking This is not asking for a tax increase. This is

002asking for a renewal. So we would renew in the same status um that we are in now. A couple things for the board to dis- to to uh consider as we move forward here with this. First of all, I think we had a consensus that we wanted to move forward. That was the discussion we discussed in or talked about in possibly November. If that is so, we will get them at the April regular board meeting. I'll get Matt back out here, and then we're going to have to uh you know, I I will be in discussion with him the next couple weeks. We'll probably have to have that as an approval item to go out to vote for that. We will have to have that as an approval item here in probably the sooner the

003better. Um one of the other big big decisions the board is going to have to make then is whether we want to renew at a 6-year status, which we have done and has been currently has been what our protocol is, or a 10-year status. And we're getting some um recommendations from Ehlers that that's kind of become a trend and the way to go moving forward. So that'll be something that this group will have to decide, and I will continue to get you more information. I have um I've alluded to it a couple times in my four weekly updates, so uh yeah. Just something get on your radar. I will get more new before our next meeting. We'll have them here and we'll probably end up looking at going uh in April regular board meeting to

004a vote to go forward in November trying to renew um this levy authority for our our technology. What is the amount amount? >> 770,000. Refresh your screen. Anybody have any questions about the killer technology levy we need to address at this time? So we are in agreement that we should get Matt back over here for our April meeting. Yep. Yes. Okay. Up next we got Jason with the snow snow removal snow blade. >> here just talk to us a little bit. We've got a situation. Again, I've updated you on this already with the board weekly update. Our snow plow truck is not in good shape. >> No, it's not. So >> got has some options. I've asked him here to kind of go over that tonight. >> What we got is our truck is 1980.

005It's well worn out. Um we can only put about 5 gallons of diesel fuel in it at a time because the tank leaks. Fuel tank leaks. Um the pump for running the hydraulics screams at you pretty bad when you're trying to use the the blade for you know, side to side or up and down. Um About every other time we use it, we got to pour about two two and a half gallons of hydraulic fluid in it to uh get all the seals on the cylinders are shot and hoses are leaking and pump leaks and whatnot and it's just it's it's difficult to to get around and maneuver around with that thing and I think you know, if we went you know, with a skid loader, um we could cut that down quite a bit

006for snow removal and possibly get away from having to lease a tractor through John Deere. Uh I know they've done that for a number of years, but I mean now there's this winter, I mean, we don't really use utilize a snow blower on it. The bucket, I mean, the bucket's oversized for that tractor, so you know, you can only push so much snow with that thing cuz otherwise it won't lift anything. So, you know, we might possibly be able to get get by with not having to lease that from them. And then maybe cut down on some hours with Elgin helping out. So, um you know, if that's something we can think about doing, I can I I've got some stuff, you know, I just started doing some research on this. Um you know, there's

007a lot of options out there. John Deere's got a a great option, you know, in that, but that's new. But, I mean, they got, you know, we can get through the uh federal discounts for the school district, we can get $19,392 off of a brand new skid loader, which brings the cost to 61,005. I know that's a lot of money. You still got your you know, your attachments you're going to have to get, you know, like a 10-ft push blade, uh a 9-ft snow bucket. That And that would come with a 78-in, you know, dirt bucket. So, you know, or we could just we could get a used one, too. I've been looking around at some dealers. Once there is some good deals on used ones with lower hours, I don't think we want to

008get anything with with real high hours. You know, you start getting up in that 4,000, 5,000-hour range, I mean, you're going to just start sticking money into it left and right. But, I've been looking at used ones. I mean, there's some '21s and '22s out there, some Bobcats, 40, 42, you know, something like that. I You know, I don't know. What do What do we pay a year for the lease? Do you know off top of your head? The lease we pay $35 an hour. And then anything over 100 hours is 100 hours an hour. Okay. So um right now we're at 143 hours for the for the season. That's for 10 months. You said 100 bucks an hour after 100 hours? Yes, correct. Yep. Is there any option to lease from John Deere the

009skid steer for a similar type agreement? Or would we use it so much more than the tractor? >> we'd use it so much more and they He said they they really don't lease um skid loaders. I mean, they don't. Maybe other places do, but Midwest doesn't. Um but you know, with the skid loader, too, we could use it for so many other things for, you know, dirt work if we had to or leveling stuff out or And this would be with tracks or with we tires? Tires. Is there Would you consider tracks or do we not >> Consider tracks. Yeah, they're a little more. I mean, I I I've looked at those, too. Yeah. Yeah, we only 50 mi 55 or so for doing snow. Yeah. Yeah, tires would be a lot better for snow

010removal and I mean, tires aren't cheap, either, but I think it's cheaper than replacing tracks. Cuz tires are going to eat tracks up, I think. I would think so, too. Just curious if it has >> Yeah. Yep. Which option we were looking at. Okay. So What are we using right now for Like dirt moving and stuff like that. Run from Midwest or Um usually I have Elzinga come if we have anything that we need Elzinga for dirt work. We've got right back on site now with baseball stuff, so Yeah. We don't Would there be any added Like do we think we would do some of that dirt work ourselves or would we still hire some I mean, from a value standpoint for the Well, I think we could do I I most of most of

011it all by ourselves. I mean, for for dirt work, I mean, even if even if we're going to got to do some tree removal, let's say. Um, you know, we don't need a grapple, but the rental place up here has a grapple we can rent, you know. I mean, just throwing that out there, too, if we ever needed to. Just thinking of the additional benefits of this versus the tractor from a Yeah. tool standpoint. This is a much more versatile tool. It is. And it's a lot faster. I mean, that tractor is is you know, you can only do so much with it. And then, you know, trying to go up on the sidewalks and back drag or any it's too big for the sidewalks around here, even. You know, you're going out on the

012lawn or if you're trying to go down the sidewalk, you got to be careful cuz you're right on the edge of falling off. You got to start all over. And you know what I mean? It's just And then with that with the snow blower in the back, too, you always got to be careful and watch, you know, where you're turning and what you're doing cuz that thing you got to remember that's behind you. And we can't do nothing without it on it cuz otherwise you got that that weight on the back. That's So, I mean, that's kind of the the main reason we have it on there is is for the weight. So, we you looked into this pretty in-depth, Jason. So, you think with a you know, a Bobcat that thing with the multiple

013size buckets, the attachments, we could accomplish what we need to remove snow. I believe so. Other than the big ones, which we still get out of those for anyway. >> Right. With with the big snow falls, I mean, but you know, you get a skid loader with a 10-ft blade on there. I mean, that's what I Yeah. going back when I was in Benson, I had 10-ft bush blade on there that we got from Viking up there in Long Prairie. I mean, you can move some snow on that thing. You know, it's got the back drag option on there, too, so you can go up on the sidewalk, back drag from the doors and and whatnot. You know, right now we're we're we're using the broom for the most part, unless it's real deep. You

014know, then we use the tractor, but then again, you know I mean, that thing is just pretty clumsy to get up on the sidewalks and especially in the back back here, you know, doing stuff like that. So So I think our process then would be to Can you get me some of that data? Yeah. You guys also know that everybody we got a few minutes in here. Our process then would be because of the pricing You know, if that's what we think we should go with. Um we'll put that I think we defer till July 1st. Get through this fiscal year. Um and we you know, we'll have a conversation with Beth about that. But in the long run there might be some money savings here. Yeah. >> Do we want to price out the

01510-ft pusher? Let's say everything broom. Yeah, I think The broom attachment would be for the dustings. I mean if you're going to do it, you might as well look at getting Well, all everything we need. So um I I got a price from uh Jenkins up in Long Prairie for uh 10-ft foot blade would be snow blade or yeah, for the blade with the back blade is uh would be 3,400. 9-ft snow bucket is 2,300. And then the broom is 3,750. So we might as well do it all. Yeah. For 10 grand 12 grand you got 12 grand and we're set. And then we got pretty good equipment. I mean I do recommend that we go we at least bid Messers. They're a local company that Yep, and that's fine. Does the exact same thing

016that Jenkins does. I just I just checked with them because I dealt with them before, but I mean I yeah, I I don't have no problem with that. So Um would you be willing to consider um making some assumptions on the time that would be saved? Like you mentioned the maneuvering on sidewalks and stuff. Do you think this would make us 20% more efficient with snow removal when we're doing it? Um obviously the inconsistency of when and how it snows and how much we remove versus something else there's a value that I think long-term shows return on this investment versus just the the sheer cost. So, we added things that we can do with it plus the more efficient activity is important. And I do it you know like there's a couple times this winter

017when we got some pretty good snowfall and I'm all here cleaning the parking lot, you know, I'll kind of start out over by the bus garage and work my way this way, but by the time I get over here and even get you know this main parking lot out here half to 3/4 clean you know, after I've already called out there and he's already got the elementary all done and now he's over here you know, and now we're now we're in each other's way. So, I mean he you know, he and he's moving a lot of snow. He's got a 9-ft bucket on that thing. So, he's he's cruising. He's moving a lot of snow in a short amount of time and you know, in the 2 hours or whatever I've been over here, he's

018only been over there for a hour or an hour and a half. And he's got sidewalks clean, parking lot clean and and whatnot. So, there's some time savings. There is. You can just maneuver I definitely think it's something we got to look at. Look into it see what our costs are. And after July look at our budget see if it's something we can reasonably do or Yeah, I wouldn't mind to see I know maybe maybe it is better to purchase. I know you can lease. I mean we lease at Felling for years. We lease an extra one or two every year as well just for snow. So, I mean I know leasing could be an option. Yeah, again from a budgetary standpoint if we did this stuff. Maybe so. And leasing to me is a

019much better option than a city owning something. I lease it if there's an issue come and get it, they fix it. So, you you talked to John? You talked to Who did you talk to? Uh Kevin at at Midwest. Midwest. And he Yeah, we we can check on that. He wasn't interested in giving me any numbers on doing that. Some leasing? Oh, really? No. Guy called Quality and up in Alec, they're the new Bobcat dealer up there. Just see what see what's available. Yeah, I'll do some checking around on that. I mean, definitely got to put some more stuff together here and and you know, got some more numbers and look at more options. We got plenty of time, but >> We do, but we want to get going. Yep. Yep. So, I'll definitely do

020some more digging on it and I'm sure the 1980 pickup that really likes to leak diesel fuel and use hydraulic fuel probably isn't too valuable, but I'm guessing we could get a couple thousand bucks for it. I mean, sell it sideways or would we keep it? >> So, I mean, yeah, we can put it on I think we put it out Yeah, Facebook Marketplace somewhere. I mean, a farmer or somebody could use it. I'm not sure. I mean, Yeah, what would we use it for? It's got a dump truck on the back, too, Donald. Yeah, it's box is all rust. All it's for pulling sand and gravel with the size It's not in good shape. Do you guys want to take a look at it? It's parked down there by the bus garage. Yeah, we

021went out for a walk last week and Is it What's all this stuff on the on the It's a 1980 orange state All diesel fuel you said fuel and and and hydraulic fluid. It's What is all that stuff? So, Yeah, if you want to swing by and take a look, it's behind the bus garage. Go over there and I mean, it's all county truck, you know. Yeah, it's it's seen its days. I mean, there's the side wing is all beat up and been welded I don't know how many times and all the pins and everything are worn out and you know, for hold holding the blade on and but But, so we We just let's get some numbers together and start looking at that and make it work more diligently on it after the Yeah,

022after June 30th. Yeah. Okay. Thanks, Jason. Appreciate it. Coming up next to the staff hiring updates. Okay, negotiations. I sent Yeah, thanks. Sent the list and received some feedback from several groups. So, my next steps will be to get hold of I believe it's Josh, Rob, and Pat. I think you guys are on the non-certified negotiating group, so we will get together and we might as well get started. I'll try to get something sent out this week. I will send you the updates from the groups I have of their proposals and then typically what we do is have a discussion, we counter propose, see where that goes, you know, if they want to sit down and meet at some point, we do that. So, Is there any way we can Remember our last go around

023we had Well, this happened to this group, this you know, back and forth. Can we get a agreement and wait till the end on all of them? Can we So, you're saying settle all at one time? >> Or or we It was just Why did my group get this and why did my group not get that? And I'm just and it's We have people wait till >> to look at everything as a as a big I understand that. I get that. But there you got to consider right now that some of these contracts are already on the board already. So, we can try that we can try to work on that. >> I get that 100% and Yep. First one at the table it looks all that's okay. Well, if every one of the 15

024come in at Yeah. this much more than that one. It doesn't look so good then. Right. Yep. So, I I'm just trying to figure out a way to fairly do this, Yep. timely do this, Yep. No, we can do that. >> and not you know, Yep. Everybody's worth, you know, what they're asking, but at the end of the day we have to run this place. Yep. cost effectively. Oh, I can do that. This is what we've kind of done already. Is it Is it primer? Okay. Well, again, but just the group, right? Budget is going to help dictate this. You know, I mean, we're we're going to see a little bit what's our projections coming forth from what the state has done with budget carry things moving forward. Remember, we were looking at a freeze

025next year, not next year, the year after with the ADM. They're still talking about that, so that's going to affect how we negotiate every group. And we're only 7 weeks till the end of legislative Well, hopefully by the end of May. Yep. So, I mean, really we can't do a lot. Well, we can start talking language and things like that. Is that good? Yeah. Yep. So, anyway. Uh SPED position, so we've met with Lisa Audi. What we're going to do we're going to do a little different model over there next year. So, remember we we are the host for SPED and Title One services over our non-public at HFS. Next year, we are going to continue our title services over there, some of our speech services, but we're going to move the SPED to our

026building. And that is, you know, we've had some conversations about the um the one position has been moved from a 0.5 to a 1.0 FTE here for SPED due to the numbers of our caseloads and things like that, and then just the need here. So, we met with Lisa. We have a plan. Um Next it's like six maybe half a dozen kids over there to bring in here at the end of the day, so they just bus over here. You know, go pick them up, bring them here, and they jump on the bus, and we would be able to service them. And that's just I want to get that change out in front of you that we've had that discussion. Um and it looks like it's pretty much finalized moving forward towards next year. So,

027in case you hear about it, you know about it. So, that's been agreed to, or it's just been discussed? >> We've got Yeah, we've got a plan. Okay. Any other questions on staffing and our hiring update? We're going to move on to end of the year events. And just prom May 16th. Remember this year they're going on the boat. I believe they go down to Stillwater, I think. So, that's coming up. Honor and Awards Dollar for Scholars night is May 4th. I need a board speaker for that. So, if you are interested, please let me know ASAP because it won't be long and they'll be putting together the uh uh program for that event. Um and then graduation is May 22nd. You are all invited to that with your spouse. So, if you are interested

028in coming to that, let me know as well. So, which one of you two are doing which one? What? Which one of you two are doing which one? You both have kids graduating. Hopefully it is you, Joe. Don't you yet? No, me don't either. I'm not that interested in doing it. So, if you don't I guess I can do it. I I'm more than willing to. I spoke to Andrew, so we're doing graduation. Honors or what? Honors or what? Honors or graduation? >> No, they don't they don't have a board speaker at graduation. Just we need somebody to speak at the honors. I think I did that graduation, did I not? Sorry. Did you? And a year ago. I thought that was the honors. I did honors last year. It was honors. It was me,

029it was I remember very It was honors banquet. So, John Drevlow for honors banquet? Yep. Unless you want to have to arm wrestle Joe and Scott and Anne for doing it cuz you're not here. I'm pretty sure Anne when they and Andrew were graduating, she was pretty confident she didn't want to do it. So, I think she's okay. Okay. I did it last year, so Yeah. Okay. So, we have John Drevlow here. Thanks, John. Pleasure. Okay. I'll look at Rob's notes so I can improve on my Yeah. Yeah. Okay. All right. Um second reading of the following seven policies. Policy number 211, criminal and civil action against school district school board members, employee, or student. Policy number 213, school board committees. Policy number 410, family and medical leave policy. Policy number 513, student promotion, retention,

030and program design. Policy number 518, DNR DNI orders. Policy number 902, use of school district facilities and equipment. Policy 905, not excuse me, 904, distribution materials on school district property by non-school persons. Those will be approval items. The next meeting will be good to go with those. Last item is April regular meeting agenda items, approve hiring, resignation, and leaves of staff, and resolution for donations. >> Yes. Anything else comes up and there's all this other stuff that we need to get out in front of, so that'll be added as well, but those are pretty much uh Anything else to come before this board? Nope, we're good to go with this. You have a motion? I'll I'll make a motion. No, I don't No, it's committee. You can just 5:52 we adjourn. Next next Now our

031Now our next one is our special board meeting. Call this meeting to order at 5:52. Okay. Sure. I'm ready to go. Sure. All right, in your portal you have bus agreements um Chad's here, he's going to go through them. We have a bus order agreement from North Central. Keep in mind these are state These are state vetted vetted, so um I'm going to I'm going to call Chad to table. We have had this conversation. Um we're looking to get approval for this night in a special meeting format, so we can get moving on this, so we can get them by fall. So Chad, if you would come up and inundate us on this. Before I do so, I would Gatien's request, I would highly recommend it. Just from my experience out of the trucking company,

032we pushed that whole 10-acre yard with a Bobcat 10-ft bucket. What you said is about 250 Bobcat with a 10-ft bucket and then a 10-ft pusher, same thing. And we did that whole 10-acre yard with that. So, it does it's very And they they makes no blowers for them, also. A little more versatile. Very much Um there's two agreements. Um first one is for the uh two road buses. As you can see the prices there. Individual price for total. Uh we do have trade-in offers. They gave us values. But um I've through assistance with the dealership, there's some local smaller school districts that are looking for buses and Diane and I have reached out to one of them and they came last week and they're very interested in buying our buses. And and they should

033be getting back to us hopefully this week. And obviously the prices will be better. Substantially better than what the trade-in values are. So, and then also today I talked to the bus guy and there's another school district out there that's looking for it. So, if something doesn't happen with the first one, we would probably have a fall back district before we'd have to go deal and settle for trade-in prices. Or we can do a little better numbers selling them outright ourselves. So, that's that's where there's no trade-in. So, there will be some trade-in value. Obviously, the the low end is the 13. And the other number is a lot higher. And then obviously sales tax will be a little better, but then that's that's your price on the two main buses. I just had a

034question with this. No camera, no video or two-way radios. Is that cuz we're taking that out of the other buses and putting them in these or why are we not putting them in right away? So, that we do have camera bid. We do have a camera bid. It's not on here. I do have a camera bid for $4,600 for the big buses. Okay. $4,600 for four inside cameras. To do inside the bus, front, back, and two middle. Cuz from my experience of watching so far this year, there's areas where if these smaller kids can't see what they're doing. I text the higher the back seats and there's some dead spots. So, that extra they can add four camera is going to get you more on top so you're seeing down in the seats cuz then

035the front camera, back camera can each camera can focus on three rows of seats to cover it. So, yeah, there is a that we I just there's it's a bid I said it's I don't see that quote. No. Yeah, but I thought we wanted to make sure you understood what the bus only cost was. The other stuff, the accessories that go with it is, you know, that's additional. Yeah, there's going to like for the big bus to do four cameras inside, to do a dash cam cuz that AngelTrax now you remember if I remember here earlier I was talking to you guys about GPS dash, that's live. But AngelTrax has a cam a dash camera that you can just it's a $400 camera and then when you want to see something you pull the drive.

036It's not as it's not live, it's not fancy, but it's also a much cheaper version. Because right now if you do the Samsara live dash cam you're paying roughly three $387 a year where for just over $400 we're putting in an AngelTrax camera for the life of the bus. And if something happens you pull the drive and you watch it. Yeah, we're not getting live view on, you know, but I think we can survive without live view. I mean you're not I mean if you weren't going to use it anyway, what's the point of it? Well, that's what I said exactly. It's, you know, there's a point you'd use it, but it's like, okay, when we start looking at start getting, you know, it's one thing to buy one bus or two bus. When you're

037starting to say multiple vehicles and you start times it by 24 it gets to be a big number. So, we just we table table that and looked at this angle once AngelTrax got back to me with pricing of just a $400 camera. And then it also has the bid as a stop arm camera. It has a stop arm camera on that also. That's the $4600, $4685 will be for the big route buses. That's four inside. Now, if we deem something not necessary, we obviously we can just start whacking stuff off. And that's installed and everything. $46 per bus per bus. $4685 per bus. $4685, that's the four inside, the stop arm, and dash. And dash. >> And that's installed. Installed. >> Yes. That's everything installed. Now, it'd be all done at the bus company before

038we took receipt of the buses. And then what is the GPS on top of that? The GPS >> The Samsara GPS would be $15. That right now is like $5600 a year for all vehicles. All 30. That's 1580 something a month per month per vehicle. So, it's like No, no, not really an extra cost for the new bus. No, cuz we're already paying >> We don't have that. We don't have any We don't have any budget We haven't We haven't done it. We're in the process of finalizing I finally got a deal with Doc. I remember we talked about this. We have not We have not signed any agreements. No, we have not. So, now That's the discussion we had. And now they came back to me and said that we told them really didn't

039want to do nothing until the new school year, but they came back to me recently and said that if we were really to if we want to pull the trigger, they would give us the equipment now and install it and have two free months to start our contract in July. Okay. So, basically have May, April, May, June, they would give us three free months. Yeah. And start it if we wanted to do that. And that's $5600 per year for all vehicles, type three and buses. We I I have experience Samsara. It's great. You can tell down to the stop sign where that truck or bus are driving in. Yep. And then and then you need to people that call and worse I was like, "Well, I'm going to make Well, it's right here. It's coming.

040Yeah. And it'll tell you it'll tell you. We had it where acceleration, braking Yeah, you can do all that. Anyway, So, that would be another discussion, but right now we're discussing the buses. Correct. Yeah. That is for the bus with the cameras. Then there's going to be a $500 bill for putting taking the radios obviously our FM radios all putting them from one bus to another. We'll reuse the radio, but we're not going to dismount them and then turn and pull cables out because you're going to have more labor than what it cost to put the new stuff in. So, there's going to be that for the most part and as far as I understand that's really the major stuff. Okay. That would be on the big buses. And then obviously we also had So,

041that gives us an idea that when we look at the bottom line, we add about $10,000 to that. That's what we're going to be at. For these two buses. >> more. Yes. And then keeping in mind there's a good chance there's going to be a credit for the trade-ins. Yes. Cuz whatever Yes. There's going to be a There Right now we sell them, we're going to take that off of these. Yes. Because right now there's already There's already 13 that's guaranteed from the trade-in. And we'll do better. We're doing better. >> to do better than that. We're doing better. Okay, we're doing better. And better enough like it offsets the taxes, right? So, it's more than 10%. >> Well, and it's still I'm still I'm It's still being done as a pass-through. So, we're getting

042sales tax credit plus Okay. We're doing it as a pass-through through the dealership, so we're able to trade it in and get the sales tax credit plus receive the higher Understood. trade rates. Mhm. Where a lot of times you have to If you have sell it outright you're better offset your sales tax increase. >> Yeah, that's I just just Cuz that We're doing We're getting the best of both worlds in that regard. We're getting the best of both worlds that way. Right now. This deal with the bus companies that you can sell you said then I don't have to deal with them. Yeah. Yeah. Excellent. They're on board with that right now. So, yeah, right now this number anything that camera add-on is going to be less than you know, the the trade-in value will

043reduce this number. >> 318,584 will be reduced. Yes. That'll be reduced even with the cameras added and then you take the trade in off of there. You've got a really good solid It's pretty solid. Can you confirm from a camera standpoint what that looks like for the mini bus? Is it the same cost? Would we be making the same Mini bus would be 2900. We're putting the same things in but we're only putting one camera. Require that right now being this this mini bus that we're looking at is a two being it's a used bus. It's an older bus that we're kind of treating it as a bridge just to get us through probably a three to five year realizing that I'll probably back here next year begging for two more buses cuz we got

044two more 12s that we got to get rid of and then after that we're going to need obviously we're going to need a break in here from buying buses unless we get better funding or something that then we can at that point we don't need to be chasing funding cuz this mini bus by the time this year's over and one more year we're going to be sitting at probably 107,000 miles on it and if we don't another year so we're using this as a bridge bus to get us maybe three to five years down the road at a point then maybe we won't be needing any big bus then we can say hey we can buy the mini bus. I'm looking at just the value. You worked out a good deal on the trade in

045value too. Kind of told them if we get to this number we're more interested in he came back and This is reflective on the big bus sale too. There's a conversations had if we do this the mini bus yes there's there's been some bargaining I think the price of that mini bus is a great price. It's it's an old older but the miles don't hurt so much cuz if at the year we're only putting 12 to 15 on and let's say three years we're only going to have 36 to 40,000 and we're still going to have a bus that's compared to the one we have now with 150,000 and when it's the same age you're going to have maybe 80,000. It'll be a better trade in value at that point. So what that one I'm

046always only looking at maybe put one we could do two cuz that's what we want, but I just had them quote me one. One camera and then a dash cam. And if we want to go two, I mean, he recommended two, but I thought I used bus for 3 years. Do I really want to Do we need it? The way this bus is used, it's not used on a route bus. It's It is a route, but it's not like a like a AM PM route. It's the ALC beacon. There's only three to five kids on it. So, I'm thinking maybe one camera suffices. The way it's being used Could we use this mini bus for activities? You can use it for anything you want. Yeah. So, it's not just that >> No, it's just that

047that's what it does. And then after school, he'll do that and then a lot of times when he run, he'll maybe run kids to um he would take like players up to golf practice. Cuz the winter that bus ran girls to long curry practice. Yeah. At that point. So, yeah, it does get used for other things, but it's not on a route where it's doing, you know, 12 or It's got 28 kids on it or a full bus doing a lot night route. So, there's I'm thinking maybe one, you know, if we want We can It's you know, eight cameras The camera price just An actual camera, a normal inside camera is 321 bucks. And then another cable. So, for $400, you could put a second camera in it if you deem, you know, that's

048something >> Or we can add that later if we And before we put it in. I mean, you can add it later, but it's more money than if you do it at the initial install, but that's just Your your your your main things are your hard drive and your recorder. That's That's 60% of your expense is getting those drivers, getting it going. So, you're talking 300 and how many dollars? The camera head itself is $321 for an inside camera. And that's installed or that's No, that's just the camera. That's just the camera. Like now on the um This way, for the big bus, we'll go back to that just for That's almost $1,000 for installing. Cuz they got six cameras to install. They're installed. And then the smaller one the install is $615 for the

049smaller bus. So, these So, much an hour. And that's not to say I can't, you know, if we get to the point we squeeze on them a little bit. When it gets down to the deep down and say, "Hey, because we did get a bus put together. We had them put um camera in a van, and we kind of negotiated some better numbers after the fact. These are just These are their These are factory one numbers, but if I say, "Hey, I'm buying three camera systems, can we uh these numbers sharpen our pencil?" And they've been about it. Yep. My biggest concern is you know, if we're talking $500 to stick that extra camera in, why wouldn't we do that right away to cover ourselves when we have a problem? More than not only that,

050more than four kids on the bus. Yep. But yeah, if there's, you know, for $500 we That's a lot of a lot of insurance we can get there. Yep. I I I I I might have thought I would agree with that. It's No, I mean, I would be for two, but I was just trying to keep the cost down being it was a bridge bus. In a sense, you know, using that terminology, it's not a long-term If it was a brand new one Well, we don't think so. We could keep it for another 100,000 miles. We could If we could find other needs We could have other needs when the time comes, and they could stay here you know, for how many years until it's up there. It feels like a very logical decision to

051put the second one in. And I agree. That's That's what I'd do. Do we want to do these individually or want to do this as a package? Are we good on funds? Are Are we good? Yep. All right. We talked about it's going to hit our capital fund, but again, understand we didn't have a budget. There's There's John Kennedy had kind of a rotation. We missed a couple years, so we were in need. >> So, yes. We'll defer this 27. Fiscal year 27 28. So, yeah, if you might have talked about that. So, June 30th our fiscal year ends. We're not going to put it in 2025-2026. We'll put it, excuse me, in 2026-2027. And they told us in the lead order, if we say yes, they'll order the buses. He said the buses come

052in June. He said we'll just sit on them until July. We'll sit on them billing too. He said we'll just sit on the paperwork and we'll do everything after July. So, it'll be for whatever fiscal year we want it here. It's not that they come in there that they're going to strong-arm us and say, "Well, we need them." Yeah, you got to Yeah, that part. So, it'll stay there. But, back to my original question, do we want to do this motion to buy all three buses, not to buy all three buses, want to do it to do the big bus and then the small bus? How would you guys like to do that? Let's do it all. I'll make a motion to buy all all three with the Can I ask a question first? On

053the mini buses, is that something we would look to buy this year? I don't know if they would hold that till next fiscal year. That's the only thing that that makes a decision cuz you know, I don't know if they would sit on a trade-in I think we could come up with that. Yeah, it's something with the mini bus. Yeah, so I got to change my motion? No, no. So, one So, a yay or a nay? Buy all three buses with the additional camera in the mini bus right off the bat. Installed from the That's with the cameras and everything. Okay. We have a motion from Josh. Do we have a second? I'll second that. All right. Second from John. Any further discussion? All those in favor signify by saying aye. Aye. All those same

054sign. Motion carries four to four to zero. Any other discussion on this? We adjourn this meeting at 6:08. I need a motion to a- I'll do it. I'd like to make a motion to adjourn the meeting. I'll second >> Second. John made a motion, Josh seconded. So, adjourn during this meeting at 6:08. Sorry, sometimes I forget if we Yeah, Becky. Yeah. Okay. Thanks, everybody. Chad, thank you. Mhm. Let's We'll get this signed tomorrow. Stop it.
