001Good evening everyone. Welcome to the GFW school board. Uh tonight is February 17th. It is 6:06 as you were stand for pledge allegiance. and to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Do I have an action to call meeting order? >> Approve the agenda. >> Uh, approve the agenda. >> I'll make a motion to approve the agenda. All none. >> All those in favor? Motion approved. Visitor recognation. Nobody tonight. Uh consent agenda. Action items. Uh regular schoolboard meeting. Approve finance report. Approve activity account review. who personal voluntary layoff resignation and hire information items. >> We need a motion to approve the consent agenda. Do >> I have a motion? >> I'll make a motion to
002approve the consent agenda. >> I'll second. >> All in favor? Motion pass. Superintendent report. >> Yeah, I want to start by thanking the middle school and high school staff for an awesome job last week. Um, not everyone can brag that they were able to flip a middle school high school over to a new building in two and a half days. But, um, we did it. It was fantastic. All the staff had great attitudes the entire time and worked really hard on making sure that it was as seamless as possible for when our students showed up today for the first day. So, that was really great. I also want to give a big thank you to Graham Moving Company out of Coco for the work that they did um moving the middle school high school. They
003had a a bid on 25 loads um to move all the items from over there and ended up being 33 and they donated the other eight um loads to our district which equates to about a $10,500 donation from this moving company out of PO. So that was fantastic. Um a huge congratulations to the girls basketball for the win over Sibly East last night. Uh they have bragging rights forever being the first team to win in the new gym. So that was exciting. and the boys take on Medilia on Friday. And today was an wonderful day with all of us together. Um, I want to give a thank you to the elementary staff, the middle school, high school staff, all the support personnel and the admin team for making sure that today was as smooth as
004it possibly could be. Um, it can only get better from here, but um, as we learn how to function as one prek through 12 building, but it was a great day here. And then Aaron and Jennifer are both gone today, but they had submitted written reports along with student council for your packets too. And then actually Abdo is a copy paster. That was last one. We don't need to do the audit presentation again or okay. >> That's good. Uh dasher update. >> Okay. Um board reports Riverbend >> uh yes uh meeting last month was organizational first and foremost much like this board we retain the same positions. However after explaining I was asked to be on the policy committee after explaining that I thought it was slightly drier in the Sahara desert I was told
005they hadn't had a meeting for many years. So we do have that uh interesting take takeaway like all schools they're dealing with reduction in programs etc. That was part of the necessity. And on the bright side, the raptor section had a trip to the science museum. And that thing was a tremendous success because no other schools came that day because of the tension in the metropolitan area. So they had the entire science museum to themselves and God will to do anything and everything. He just really great for those particular children. Not only that, but uh some of them saw other things for the first time in their lives uh like planes as they went by the airport. So that was a definite highlight for school for the month. It's pretty much dead. >> Thank you.
006Uh policy committee four policies. uh three three cities skip >> my laptop isn't uploading but >> okay >> there was >> is primarily statutory changes due to changes with paid medical leave act and the ESST um so nothing of significant change it's just legal requirements that need to be flipped over >> guidelines we have to follow >> uh FFLRP I think you guys just met tonight No, we had community engagement with >> Yeah. And the LP with last month. >> Yeah. I guess that meeting with had a lot of discussion. You had about three years of data on buses. >> Yes. >> And if we should keep our buses or lease and all that kind of went around and and kind of ended up with the idea we're going to keep our buses, but we're
007trying to figure out how to start replacing them. So, we're starting to look at and probably buy some good used buses and then all the other stuff we're putting up the building and know we're spending our money. We're trying to keep our money know all those things. community engagement which we have done today among other things. What did we do then? We talked about the schools and what we're going to do buildings. Yeah. >> Etc. And there isn't an easy answer. That's the best takeaway for it. So, but we do feel that we may need to set a deadline for whatever policy we adapt. >> So, everybody knows we we mean business if we're going to tear them down or sell them. So, put a deadline on that. I >> think that'll be most important
008for today's >> Okay. Um, executive committee basically went over that two weeks ago to set this meeting. Enrollment K through 12 is at 538. And then we move on to action items. Uh recommendation to approve strategic plan. >> I like the recommendation to approve a strategic plan. >> Do we have a second? >> I'll second that. >> All those in favor? uh annual resolution directing administration to review programs and make budget recommendations for reductions. That was an attachment. Uh Julie, it's a roll call vote. >> Mhm. >> We need the motions first. >> Yes. I make a motion that we do exactly that. >> Do we have a second? >> Second. All those in favor? >> Yes. Stair. >> Yes. Breeze. >> Yes. >> Thank you. >> Uh, approve Southwest West Central Cooperative Agreement. That
009was an attachment. >> I will make a motion to approve that. >> Do we have a second? >> I'll second. >> All those in favor? Motion passes. >> Do we want any discussion on any of these items? Yeah, I'm happy to give commentary if you want. I know most of the things have been uh annual reviews. Southwest West Central houses our um business platform. They provide support teaching and learning opportunities. They also help us with mock OSHA walkthroughs to make sure that our facility is safe. Um I my understanding is we've used them for many many years um as our support regional cooperative like all districts are in a regional cooperative um of some kind. So, Southwest West Central is our primary one that we utilize. >> Um, first reading of policies 410, 530, and
0106:15. >> That's just the first reading. No action. Yeah. >> No real changes. and recommendation to approve donations. And the donations GFW Crystal Valley $500 FFA GFW uh Peace Lutheran Church Win $14247 or 40 or the green bus noisy offering in December. Uh GFW Anonymous, $5,000 CTE shipping containers. GFW Gibbon Lions, $500 high school, middle school PBIS. GFW, uh Brenda Grunhagen, $500, middle school, high school, life skills class. Do we have a motion to accept the donations? I >> have a motion to approve the donations. >> I have a second. >> Yes. >> Breeze. >> Yes. >> Dare. >> Yes. >> Gross. >> Yes. >> And we have a motion for adjourment. I would make a motion to adjourn. >> Second. >> All second. >> All those in favor of adjourning? Motion passes. Meeting is
011adjourned. >> Record. Um food.
