001Then you're talking contracts, you can go into close session, shush everybody out. If it's an actual individual um which will have coming up here, they can choose to open it and have people present or they can choose close the meeting and remove everybody. >> Yeah, she kind of explained to me a little bit. I forgot her name. Morgan. She explained it to me. >> Perfect. Thanks, Marian. Good evening. >> All right, moving on. >> Um, item four, approval of the agenda and we are going to remove item I under the consent agenda. So just entertain a motion to approve the agenda as is. >> I will make a motion to approve the agenda with the change to Joe Phillips contract being 2026 to June 30th 2020. >> We have a second to that support by

002director Raha. Any further discussion hearing? None. All those in favor signify by saying I. >> I opposed. Motion carries. Item five, public comment. Anybody up for that? Item six. We got guests any visitors? Uh Jordan, I think we've got you down here just about another three minutes. >> Works for me. >> Item seven, approval of the consent agenda. And this would include remaining item I, policy 534, school meals. Uh the superintendent has advised me they'd like to take a look at that purpose. So with that said, can we get a motion to approve the consent agenda with that one change? >> So motion by director support by director Randa Solder. Any discussion and representative friend if you have any questions on that say is there any discuss feel free >> um for this is for

003sure the date and time that we are meeting for the joint collaboration >> if approved changes >> um and do we know where it's going to be held soon we do not we believe it's going to be either at Valentinis and we're at the discovery center. We'll wait in location information. >> Okay. So, you will let us know about that. >> Okay, perfect. >> Any other discussion on the consent agenda? >> I just have, you know, I can't be there for this session. It bugs me. But if we can get somebody to take notes, and I'm positive we're going to have to have another meeting, well then, but Hibing is going to be missing two board members, and I can't be there because I committed to this service co-op convention. That's the way it is.

004I can't help that. I don't like to miss things like this. But, you know, notes or something coming back so I get an idea of what was discussed would be very helpful. and uh I would appreciate that. >> It is a working session. So um all those notes will be taken by Pam. >> Okay, great. Thank you. Hearing no further discussion, all those in favor signify by saying I >> opposed. Motion carries. >> Item eight reports. Uh Jordan, we are going to move you up to the top of this list. >> Fair enough. Okay, everybody should have had the handouts ahead of time and then the Irv budget summary. Um, >> page that's colored that says TNT >> this one >> and the budget summary. So, I want to start with the budget summary. Um,

005this is something that we started doing probably this spring, couple months back. Um, you'll see this budget summary is specifically for Irb. It's for the $8 million from IT RB as a way to track the Irb project. So, when we started talking about awarding the roofing and tuck pointing projects and all that, um, that was all Irv. Um, so this is the form that you probably haven't seen it in a while, um, since we awarded those contracts. I probably haven't been here much since then. Maybe one meeting or two. Um, but this is the one that we're working off of just solely talking to RB. I do not have an updated um, overall project budy budget summary for tonight. Um, that wasn't the main focus, but um, the financials on the main project really haven't

006changed much at all from the last times we've been meeting. there hasn't been very much change act activity. We've been continuing to spend on the FFE budget um general conditions all of that. Um so our financial position on the general referendum hasn't changed much until I got the update from asbestous. So I think we all probably know through the grapevine that there's a bunch of additional asbestous that had to happen. Um so we're relying on IEA to guide the process there. Um, but just from my two cents, I get it. All the asbestous needs to be gone legally before we can do the demo of that building. So, not out of the ordinary to find more, but at the same time, I understand it's a lot. So, I am working with Lisa to understand what

007those costs are as we identify them and just account for that in the main budget. I think it still leaves a balance of just north of 3 million in the budget that we've had many meetings about, you know, does that go into bus garage, does that go into athletic fields? Does that go into that? So, we still have a bunch of decisions to make with that funding at this point, but um no major change other than the asbestous, which we have jumped that into. So, I'll continue to reflect what is found there. So, just to give you a little bit of an update, the asbestous original bid came in just shy of $200,000. >> All in today with the last little bit of change order, we're really close to $550,000. So, pretty significant difference. Um,

008and I believe Mark and Bob and the finance committee were aware of some of the things that they found under the floor um that they didn't anticipate finding. Um, for other people that are listening out in the community, they took down some walls and inside the walls they found windows that used to be on the outside and so there were walls covering walls covering different things that none of our layouts had any inclination that that would be there and so that came with unexpected costs. >> So the the asbestous removal IEA is still in that building. >> IA is still in that building. They're anticipated to be done by close of Friday. >> Okay. We'll have a final figure. I guess >> I think today I got the final figure. I think >> they will

009also be coming over to this building because for the IT RB projects, the silver windows have that lead in them. So, they need to remove. So, >> once they get done there, they'll come take out all those windows here. So, it won't be totally done, but that'll be >> they'll be done in there. >> Correct. So, >> so this was under the gym floor you said? >> No, the the the actual hallway. >> My understanding what happened because Jake's been heavily involved just cuz he's doing day-to-day scheduling working closely with them is that probably likely what happened is that Fuller was replaced 20 30 years ago and at that time the asbesus that was there was covered with a topping slab to level the floor and then the new floor was put on that. So

010they found it under >> layers >> the floor, >> right? >> And none of that was in the asbestous books. That was >> No. So when they came in to do the drilling, what they do is they come in first. So you remember, I don't know, was it 20 years ago when they did the remodel there with the floor that has like the nice C or the C in it. Okay. >> Um, so they'd come in and they drill and each of the places they drill, they drill until they get to concrete. And when you get to concrete, if they didn't find asbestous between the concrete and there, there's pretty good indication that there's not a speestous there. What happened is they pulled it up and realized that there was a layer of concrete over

011more floor. >> And so they didn't hadn't drilled down far enough because that's pretty rare to find. Um, and so when they went through everything underneath all of those layers, it was additional asbestous. So every single floor over there had to be ripped up. So, my guess is maybe they learned something. >> I don't know that they could have found it anyway without getting to the point where they were with ripping it up. I I don't know that they could have found it. >> Realistically, they're probably drilling down and they're expecting concrete. So then they hit concrete and they're what what should be there? What the leveling that went over the top was probably never documented or >> well and that's the problem with it is that all years back they didn't they just covered

012as they did not do anything about it. They covered it. They tried to do that here too and nobody would let them. So that's a good thing I guess I >> and that's that's the unfortunate thing about doing a building demolition when it's this old is you uncover the sins of all all the things >> so I wasn't terribly surprised that we heard or we found there was going to be more um but the magnitude of it is quite a shock but also we understand that for MPCA it needs to be removed >> legally so >> and we were speaking okay enough in the budget that we could absorb that through general conditions and contingency without impacting anything else. So, we didn't have to stop doing something else or not be able to do part

013of the project. It just was absorbed through other pieces. >> Yeah. Because of budgeting. >> So, that's kind of the only update on the other project. Um what I want to talk about is mostly I RB tonight. Um but I know that um punch list we're getting down there. Um, seems like we're getting a list every other week from teachers, staff, Lisa, whoever. Keep sending them. We want to hear. Um, I know ESC's really been dragging out on some of the door security stuff like that. We're continuing to push on them to get stuff done. Um, so behind the scenes, we're still very much active and participating, but we can't fix it if we don't know about it. So, when in doubt, let Lisa know and she'll let us. >> Is that the cameras? >>

014Yes, >> that would be door access cameras, fire panel. And those are the cameras. We've talked about that basement playground. That's the >> Del's a big piece of that. Okay. Um and one for sure is now functioning. The second one may have gone up today. >> Joe said that they got the second. So I think they're both up and functioning today, which is good. Had some vandalism. >> Is there any re I I suppose this would probably be a time to ask. Is there any reason why we can't fence that off and close it off when we're not here? Um, right now the fence isn't built all the way around that. That must have been a decision at some point, but um that is something that playground area. >> Yeah, >> I believe it has

015believe it has to stay open for eress the way the design is. I couldn't tell you why it was put the way that it was, but if anybody ever came out of the building going to the Head Start playground that we relocated, they would be boxed in and they wouldn't be able to get out and get away from the building. So, I don't think we have any obstruction. so that people going out of that building can get out to the parking lot to safety. >> But the good thing is is the cameras are up and running now. So the cameras weren't up and running, which is part of the problem. >> So, you know, in hindsight, um I didn't we didn't really know they weren't running because we didn't need to look at them. You

016find out things aren't working when you need them, right? >> And we went to look at them and they hadn't been hooked up yet. So >> And we do have signage up now, too. >> We do not have signage up. >> The signage hasn't come. >> No, it has not come. We just talked about that today to make sure that there's enough money in FF&E to cover all of that. That should be coming. I mean, it'll be installed this summer, but >> it's a shame conversation about using the same system Bob system in the elementary and and putting that into the new building. Is that something that >> my fob doesn't work >> because they were going, you know, >> save it and reinstall it in a new building. >> Yes, they are all working.

017They're all fob systems. Um, that is a thing. So, if if your fob like if your fob's not working, for example, you need to stop in and either see like a Pam or you can stop in and see Mary Joe or Sam, one of the secretaries, and they can reprogram it, and they just need to give you access to four doors. >> Okay. Well, that's fine. >> I believe it's just Joel right now. >> Yeah. Okay. >> But you can see a secretary and they can email Joe for you because basically they just need your little number. >> Maybe we should just bring our fobs in and give them to you guys and then they can just do it whenever they have a chance. And >> that sounds great. >> And they actually physically need

018our fob, but if not, they need the number of the fob. >> Okay. >> So, do all the schoolboard members just have keys? Just you guys can just come in whatever >> hang out. No, actually our FOBs only worked at the >> elementary school. That's the only place. They didn't work here. We could only get in there because mine worked here. >> Mine worked here. >> Mine didn't. Mine did not. So, but that's okay because, you know, I was a custodian here. I had all the keys to Ed and I don't want them anymore. I'd rather not have a key to the school. >> So, to answer your question, yes. Yes. We we men come in like at that back door over there. There's if I come in on a Saturday, I'm supposed to sign

019>> that was here. I mean, my fob automatically tells >> y it records that each one has a number. So, it tells us who's here. >> So, >> but there's also a security. So, I mean, you got to make sure you know the security, too. >> Well, and the reason you typically sign in is so like if there's a fire, the fire department comes and they know who's in the building and they don't have access to. So paper will probably never go away. >> I guess speaking of the back over there behind the new school and I talked to Lisa about this. Is there going to be another final work force put on? >> Yep. >> Thank you. >> Yep. >> Final what? >> Uh asphalt paving in the parking. >> Oh. >> Um because

020they also need to get it striped and we need to get the ADA striping up there too. So last I heard is I think Msabi Batuminous needs to do one for the city street project as well. So, my hunch is, we haven't heard from the contractor yet, but my hunch is when they come back to do the street, they'll maybe do that parking lot. Or the other option is when they do the new parking lot, then maybe they'll grab it there as well. So, as soon as we find out, we will let you guys know so that we can vacate all parking back there. For now, we're fine to park back there. But, yep, second lift come striping, then it'll be nice, complete, done. And that was intentional, too, through construction so we could work

021on it and also mark it up a little bit and it's going to get a brand new coat. and you won't even know that constructing trailer traffic was ever there. >> Thank you. >> Yep. So, um on that note, um we're kind of working through close of the addition. We're kind of ramping up um asus abatement comes to an end over here. We will be moving to um land where we'll come in and start demoing the ballast and some of the mercury containing bulbs, stuff like that. Um working closely with Lisa to get a second auction in, get that done. Lisa's been working really hard to get the building cleaned out as well, get materials out um that can't be in there. Um I think we also have talked about if we need some more

022manpower um at the end, we'll come up with a we have a couple plans to do that to get it cleared out and then after the auction um we turn it over and land starts demo um actually swinging wrecking balls and stuff. I think like June 8th, give or take a day. I'm can't remember what it was. It should be about 6 weeks to get that whole building down and gone to the point where they're doing utilities and then starting to build >> receiving all the bricks. >> So, Landware as part of their contract has salvaging. So, different than the mosaics, the bricks themselves, they'll salvage some of those, set them off to the side, and then the intention is to sell them for $5 a brick for a >> for a fundraiser to help

023with the >> Yes. Yep. So they'll set aside a pallet brakes or whatever we need and then they can go that way. Um so that's the big happening um on the main project. Um that's the final phase. So I think we've really been honing in with our hate school starts this day. They know the timeline. There's always the risk of having a ton and ton of rain days and losses every summer. You know, if you guys can predict the weather, you shouldn't be here. You should be placing bets. But I think we're going to be um it's going to be tight, but um it's been communicated. Contractors are aware should be ready for opening day of school in fall up a lot starting to kick off. It's kind of calm before the storm. Um with

024that, switching over to the RB conversation then. Um we have the roofing, the tuck pointing, the window replacements. Tuck pointing started last Monday. So, they're working on the backside by the shop right now. Um, grinding out the mortar joints. Um, so they've they've got all summer here, but they're going to be working on different sides of the building. Talking with Lisa, um, they're going to be working on the district office sides pretty much the whole month of July. So, I've advised her that just because of noise, you may want to find places to work out of. Um, but they will be going steady throughout the summer. Roofing, um, as well, they're going to start first week of June. And then window replacement, it's probably going to be first or second week of June. We got

025all the materials ordered. Um, they might not be here just quite the first week, but second week. Um, and we met with TNT heavily and they understand the timeline and they're committed to having the whole building done this summer as well before school starts. So, a lot to do. Um, in that regards, it's kind of the calm before the storm. It's going to get hot and heavy in another couple weeks here. Um, that brings me to that the next point, the IT RB budget. So, on the other budget that we've always had, I've always shown allocated and unallocated. It totaled $8 million. This budget summary is just a breakdown of everything IB of the full $8 million. Um, so I just have it updated with the cost of professional service to date. We owe a

026$50,000 project general condition. We do not have any FFE or technology in this budget. Um, and then I've laid out all of the projects that we've talked about doing or are already doing. Um, so the steam to hot water conversion is done. I need to have some conversations with Noah and um Lisa and the rest of the board um eventually here when we determine if we're going to slide any bonds around from that project. I think it's been financed through the referendum dollars, but it's also through RB. So, there's flexibility there. That's what we talked about last time is we do have flexibility um to move money around from referendum to Irb by design to give us some flexibility. Um, so that's the line item where we would probably um have that conversation. So I

027just wanted to point that out. Um, the window replacement, the roofing and gutters, the tuck pointing, they're all contracted and done. Um, the elevator modernization and auditorium ladder, those are budgets that I'm holding based off of real numbers we got that we would have to refresh. We have not committed to these projects. I just have them here as two that we would like to do, but at this time we have not committed to that. So when we look at all the dollars and cents, when Bob looks at the red number at the bottom, um th those projects are not committed to yet. Those are budgets. So um we haven't elected to proceed with them. Um the electrical vault budget, I have the number plugged in of the change order amounts um that we're here for

028approval on in a little bit. Um and then I have the cost of the lead removal for the window replacement as well. Um, we have the Irb contingency fund and then that leaves us with an overall ILRB budget negative balance of $105,000. Um, the whole intent behind IT RB is we submitted a really long list of projects. I think going back two years ago, we nixed a couple of them saying we're not interested in doing those, but we're interested in doing others. Um, so that list has been whittleled down and the intent is always we're going to use as much we're we're going to use the full 8 million um and get the most bang for our buck. So we prioritize all the projects um and so these are some of the last ones. So,

029right now, just as it is on this paper, um the elevator and the auditorium looks like we'd have to pick one um or we'd have to wait to see how much contingency or general conditions are left um at the end and make a decision later, which we can do. At the same time, if we discuss that we feel they're necessary and we need to proceed, um we could shift some dollars from the referendum back to the steamed hot water to free up what we need. Not a decision we need to make tonight. Um we're not here to to make any decision on that. It's just an update of the budgets we're tracking and that's the same conversation we had a month ago. Um the difference is tonight I have real hard numbers for the electrical

030vault um which we identified as a higher priority than the elevator or auditorium ladder. Um so that's that's the triple RB budget update. Again it I know it shows a red number. Um again that's also we've got some budgets set aside for some projects that may or may not need to take place and we've got the flexibility built in that we need to do that. So that being said, before we talk with the electric vault um questions with this now that I've explained that >> what does it mean by auditorium? >> There is a that skylight that we just went and looked at. Um back up top there is a ladder that goes up to the roof to get onto there. Um that was identified as a need that it doesn't have any it doesn't

031meet code anymore. It's not safe. if anybody were to fall, they would just fall all the way down. So, that was something that I was identified to install a new one with a safety cage around it and put it back up. So, it's more so for maintenance to be able to get up onto the roof safely. >> Okay. Thank you. >> So, if no further questions on the budget, I'll jump into the change order >> jump again. this budget summary, that's the sum of the change order. So, it is a different number from PNT. Um, the electrical vault, I think we all know what it is. We've all seen it. Um, if not, it's the transformer building and the entrance to the shop has major water issues and brick falling off and structural issues. Um,

032so the proposal is to replace it, waterproof it, take down all the brick that's falling, put metal panel around, and then the one retaining wall that goes to the north, we're going to have to start stop somewhere. Um, we're going to start there, or sorry, we're going to stop there. So, that entire retaining wall is not part of the project scope to get redone or anything like that. Um, it's just the vault itself. So, what we did is we priced it out from TNT probably 6 months ago as a change order. They gave us the proposal of 197,000 and change. Um, I talked about it with you guys and we discussed we could proceed with it, but I'm going to go out and I'm going to go talk to other contractors to make sure and

033do our due diligence that um, the price is right. I reached out to two other contractors, Hawk from Grand Rapids and Johnson Wilson from Duth. Hawk was interested at first and ultimately decided they didn't have time to do it and did decline. Um, Johnson Wilson did provide a proposal. So that is the second piece of the handout. Um we have two proposals. Um TNT 197,842 and Johnson Wilson $269,310 to do the same scoop of work. So if we had elected to proceed with Johnson Wilson, that would not have been a change order. That would have been a new standalone contract. Um at this point with TNT, um with their cost being significantly cheaper, um I am recommending we award this change order. And this is a uh added scope change of order where we are

034um taking on another project. >> So neither one of these bids though include any kind of I mean it's this one says excluding paint testing permits electrical mechanicals protection of electrical equipment from watery or anything not listed. So, do we know what the full amount's going to be? Cuz I have a feeling if you're just being in that building, there's going to be some other repairs. >> Um, so the full the full price right now is the 222471. We do have uh proposals underneath the superintendent's authority um spending authority um to proceed with those. I think it's $14,000 for the siding and $10,000 for the electrical work in there and all the associated work with it. Um, so TNT's proposal, I did look at that. I did read that they do have a full scope

035of work. We are not doing any painting in the project. So I don't see any issue with that. Testing is by owner. Permit is by owner. We are already permitted on that because we did elect to um proceed. Uh the electrical again is by going to be by JK. Uh there is no mechanical. The siding is by um range cordis. Then the protection of the electrical equipment. Um when we go back to the budget, that's what the general conditions is for. Um we'll do something temporary if we need to. It's going to depend what it is, but that's kind of the general condition um theory behind that. So when I look at it, um that should be that should be everything that we expect in the project and it's still bound under the same contract

036rules as everything else. Okay. Lisa has approved the smaller ones. >> Not yet. >> If it's under 50K, you have the authority. >> Under 50K, she has the authority. But you're coming to us because of what TNT Construction is fit amount is to do basically what we went out and looked at was the bricks and the top and the re that part. >> Correct. Got you. >> Correct. >> And so at this time, I'm recommending that we do approve the change order and proceed with the work. um about any open discussion, question, comments, or concerns. I'll say this is part of the plan. We did our research to make sure that TNT was the right contractor and the right price. The other proposal shows that and I'm ready to move forward. Okay, I will stick

037around for the approval. Do you need that immediately or tweet? >> Uh, we probably should get going ASAP just to get the work scheduled. >> There's a motion there already >> there. >> All right. Thank you, Jordan. Any questions? >> No, I'll second for approval. on approval. Then we'll be uh next up we've got student representative report if she has one. >> Not today. >> Excellent. >> Thank you. >> Uh committee reports any committees uh the finance committee Mr. Raha and I and Noah and the superintendent met with representatives of the city to best discuss future collaboration. >> Mhm. >> With them and we think that uh we might move in the right direction when it comes to uh additional work that we need to have done out there in that parking lot and and

038uh go from there. Uh what we do need and this will be on the next agenda um before the the board is a resolution to officially work with the city so we can pass that on to the RV or any of the other funding sources that may be >> they might collaborate like a for grants and such, >> right? Also, just a reminder at the next meeting session eval. So, I I'd like to get feedback from board members to see you all have the the book that and uh see where we go from there items that we we may want to discuss and it's an evaluation. I don't want everybody to anybody listening to get all excited about it. It's a year that you're up. >> Thank you. So, a couple of updates. I know

039that the community is really interested in what's happening with the Von Stefins route. I'm here to say that I know very little. Um all we have for updated information right now is that we've received initial information from the DNR today. Um that it said it has now passed into their internal review to discuss transition. What that means nobody really knows um other than somebody is now looking at it because I think before it was just sitting in Q. Now they're starting to look at it. They have asked that on May 20th um that I meet with Cal Peltier um who's from Rams as well as a member of the DNR um to just talk a little bit about what's on that property and and what they think might be coming down the pike. So I

040should have an update at the next board meeting of some possible um pathways I guess forward for that. Any questions on that one? >> You're like good. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I don't have a lot of answers, but um we're we're still plugging along. >> Um auction number two, you heard Jordan talk about auction number two is going live in just about one week. Um as long as abatement ends the 15th, this Friday as expected. Um auctioneers are expected to be in Saturday, Sunday, and Monday to finalize the pictures and get it live. It will go live for a full week, close on the 25th, which is Memorial Day with pickup the 26th and 27th. again has to be a very short time frame because we've been given um direct notification from our demolition crew. Everything

041has to be out of there on the 27th because the building starts to come down at that point. So in this particular auction primarily what you'll see is a lot of trim doors um some of the wood floors that were in there. You'll see um there's a truck in there that's going to go to auction. It's one of our trucks here that we had talked about previously about um selling that truck that'll go to auction. That's about it. It's about there's not much equipment and things like that. There's a little bit of kitchen equipment um that we ended up not needing to bring over to the new facility that there was already a duplicate there. So there's a little bit of that, but primarily it's just kind of building construction materials in that way. >>

042I always thought that when a building was demoed that you could leave anything wood in it. >> You can leave anything full wood. Anything full wood they're actually purchasing. Um so there's nothing left in there that is full wood. >> Um so any of the other desks that are metal and things like that, we have to get rid of that. But yes, if it's full wood, um or sheetrock or plaster or things like that, all of that can stay. People want to buy the real old historic >> one >> and we are repurposing gymnasium floor. >> So the gym floor um I think sanding finished completely. It's about half torn out. >> Um and so that seems to be coming out okay and will start to make its way over to the CE probably by

043the 27th. I would guess >> unless they want to put it in storage and temperature control a little bit before they do what install be once all the kids are out. >> Thanks. >> Um May 20th, if you see any fire trucks here, don't panic. May 20th in the evening, um the Chisum Fire Department will be coming in. We're coordinating with Jake um to make sure that it's okay. Fire department will be coming in to the facility to do some fire department training in that building. um before we go. So, you'll see them knocking out some windows that aren't being repurposed into the other um facility that they just don't get a lot of opportunity to use their ladder trucks. So, they're going to buy their ladder trucks over there. >> Is Jordan is the

044fire department superintendent? Is the fire department going to be present for the actual demolition to keep dust down? You know, >> the contractor has that in their scope of work already to have continuous dust control. So, we are not relying on the fire department. Um maybe the landware has talked to them about it, but um the fire department is not expected to unless asked by the contractor. >> Okay, >> that's a really good question. So, we're a volunteer fire department, which is different than a lot of communities. So, if you can make sure that they if they're expecting the fire department, they are going to need some heads up for that because we don't have people that continue for that. >> And we require them to pull the permits and notify the city and all

045that. So, that should all be in place, but I'll make sure that it is. >> Thank you. >> Um, last week I had the opportunity to really kind of dive into some community ed start um type work. And so, we have a couple of new programs that'll be coming on board. You'll see a committee um safety town has not been part of community ed in the past. You'll see that coming on board here shortly. Um, but I attended a training called the five protective factors, which is really um about reinvisioning community ed for what it was intended to be. So in community ed in in many school districts has ended up taking on the lifeline of just being more kid programs. And community ed was always supposed to be kind of for your community and

046your adults. And so really kind of reimagining what are the five protective factors that build strong families within your community and how do you make sure your programming goes around that. So it was fantastic. um some very easy lifts, just having some intentional discussion about types of programs that we might be recruiting um to kind of make our community a little bit stronger and provide kind of free or at least lowcost training to our community. So, that'll be coming on board. We'll be working a little bit harder on that this summer. >> Um and then the last is just kind of some updates on big events that are coming up. Um so, the last day for our K3 kiddos, remember, is May 22nd. So, if you are watching from home, daycare is available. Daycare will

047be held right here actually in this media center to make sure that we're not involved in anything happening with the move that's going on. So, buses will drop kids off here. So, if they are being picked up, they that same route will still be available. Signups should be coming sometime this week. Um, so we can figure out how many kiddos we would need to provide service for. You said May 22nd was what age group? >> K3. The bond will be done on May 22nd. >> And is SR done now or no? >> Yep. PreK is all done >> and Head Start is also done. >> Okay. >> Y >> um transportation update. Um if you haven't seen it already, it it should be dropping any day. Um and we'll be reminded um until all of

048the forms are in, but we need a new transportation form for every single kiddo in this district because we have to redo every single route based on we have a different walking zone now. We have um busing from across town that maybe wouldn't have been here. So, there's some different things going on with that. So, we're working through what some of that might be. So, if you haven't filled one of those out, you will get an actual phone call from us by the end of June if you don't have one on file and we'll fill it out for you because we need one from every single kid so we know what's happening so that we can be responsible with our with our transportation. >> Can you just get those from Mary Joe or >> You

049absolutely can. Thank you. >> Um end of year party. Um, this is the Vaughn end of year party tradition. It's the last one, so there's kind of a little extra hype with it this year. Um, I recruited some board members already to sign up for activities. If you have not signed up for activities and would like to, please stop and see me afterwards. We're trying to fill everything from kind of monitoring on some playgrounds to trying to convince Chair Casey he should be in the dunk tank. >> Haven't won that battle quite yet, though. >> I like it. I think it's a smooth thing, so I think he should. It'll be real fun. >> It's amazing. You >> present the first ball. >> When is that day again? >> That is May 28th. >> And

050that is here or at the van? >> That is at the van. >> It is going to be at the So some unique activities. So in the past, you know, typically you tell your kiddos you can't run in the hallway, right? But there's some activities inside that are races in the hallways and things like that to give kids kind of that laugh. >> Teachers chairs >> a little bit of experience. So the CE had kind of their big hoopla. It looks a little bit different down at the bond especially because we don't know if we're selling it, if we're salvaging it or what we're doing with it. So we can't necessarily write on the walls and things like that that we could do at the CE. Um but we're trying to couple some kid-friendly activities

051that they can use the space in a different way. be coming up. Graduation May 29th, big day. Who's handing out diplomas this year? You've got >> Sydney. Daniel. >> Um, August 27th. Uh, did you guys send out or uh Billy usually makes the pamphlets every year for graduation? >> That I don't know. That's handled through the high school office. I miss them. So, >> okay. Yeah. I just haven't seen him because I usually get the Billy has me >> and usually we go right down to the wire because you're trying to figure out which girls are watch that stage and which one aren't. So they probably got another week, week and a half before they >> graduation is May 29th >> and the award the scholarship banquetss on the 20th. >> Scholarship banquets's on the

05220th. >> Okay. >> And it's here >> not at V auditorium. I thought it said >> in the comments. >> No, it's in the comments. Oh, it's in the comments. Oh, okay. Toronto tell me Mrs. Toronto tell me the auditorium. >> They can't eat in the auditorium. So, I don't think they'd have a banquet in there. >> Oh, you eat at that banquet. >> Oh, I guess it's been a while since I've been there. >> Yeah, they're going to get >> They usually have just like a dessert, not like a full meal at the >> They used to have a letter banquet when it was down >> at the church. Got >> um August 27th. big day to put on your calendar. That is the grand opening >> in conjunction with the first home volleyball

053game. >> Nice. >> Okay. So, that event will be a rather large event. We'll have several guest speakers. We'll have local politicians. We'll have the triple RB. We'll expect somebody from the board to speak. Um we have some student speakers. We have all kinds of things. There's a there's an actual ceremony that takes place on that day. So, Mark, August 27th. So, from a contractor standpoint, if you want to make sure they know that needs to be done by August 27th. Do we have a time? >> Um, we do not. We're working right now with our 80 to figure out exactly where it fits best with the volley. >> Perfect. Could the chamber do like a ribbon ribbon cutting too? >> Absolutely. >> Okay. Perfect. >> Absolutely. Um and the last thing that I would

054have is just if you are know anybody that's out there right now we do have a current special ed position open. Um and tomorrow we'll be posting a science position. Those are both just due to some lensure. Um so we are recruiting teachers um into our district. So if you know of anybody that's looking for a position in the Chisel public school district, we'd be happy to have you. Um any other questions for me? >> Thank Thank you. Uh before moving on to personnel, normally I go through the consent agenda. Uh the one thing I want to do is item G is thank uh Tindy Nelson for her long time and safety talent. She is uh >> no longer going to perform that function. Thank you to Miss Nelson. >> Next up, >> hold on.

055Letter club banquet is when? >> The 28th. >> The scholarship banquet is the >> scholarship. When is the >> letter club banquet? Because we have that coming up. >> 18th. >> That's the 18th. Letter club banquet is the 18th. >> What time is that at? >> 7:30. Letter club banquet is in the comments. comments >> scholarship thing is in the auditorium right on the 20th >> passing up the scholarship on the 20th >> I think they just I think she just said that it was in the comments >> the scholarship one in the comments >> just to verify because there's a lot of things coming up >> lot things >> moving on item nine personnel approve the hiring of Robbie Albert is the TK through6 principle effective July 1st 2026. I was really sad though because it was a pretty poor turnout and I don't know if they just wasn't enough advertising on behalf of the the drama department, but these kids did a great job. Um there's also was the hidden college play opening session and there's relax. Yeah, >> it was a poor weekend to do the play. >> Only so many weekends. That's a thing that stinks. >> Well, also the

060band concert last week. >> That was well attended. >> Yeah. Yeah. Art show was a lot of fun. That was that was cool. >> Yeah, they did a nice job. I will say typically for the place my business downtown has always had a flyer. No flyers were ever delivered to any of our I didn't see flyers up in many businesses either. So advertising goes a long way too. >> Well, we put up flyers. Well, usually we assigned people places like here you have Snickers and we didn't she didn't do a very good job at being like hey there's poster kind of >> time gets away from me too like oh crap it's this weekend trip and then she had her thing she was gone for a week it was rushed >> it was a cool

061play though >> but just for future plays things like that making sure that you guys are hitting up the businesses downtown. I'm not saying it was you. I'm just saying the fan director. >> It would be a good It would just be really good to make sure that the community knows and there's a little more information out there about it. >> Not everybody does Facebook. >> Yeah. >> I don't think it was posted on there either. >> No, I never saw I'm dying to saw. >> You know, I did see it cuz as a chamber I share a lot of chis stuff and I was like, "Oh, there is a play this week." You know, I knew >> it was out on Facebook then. >> Actually, I saw it in the hidding paper. I got

062the hidden paper for Sunday and it I saw it in the Sunday on I read it on Sunday and it was >> already over. >> I think the city of Chisum would be more than happy to put something like that on there in the >> Yeah. Yeah. Who does one ask about putting stuff on that board? Uh just >> there's seg >> or you can just go into the city hall the gals at the desk with Shel. >> I'm the chamber director so you can ask me to I can director Mr. Baky he's also on the city council so >> yeah right that's right for Cindy and I were talking about that earlier and tell that idea that or what what the kids did back when your daughter was I thought it was kind of

063neat >> when Samantha did g well they did when Mrs. Lico and we were in charge of the auditorium or when I worked there in the auditorium we had the kids went downtown they went all over but they did Greece and my actually my father-in-law had a pink Cadillac so he had and he dressed as a chauffeer and he had the kids >> in the car dressed in their parts and drove them all over town and they and they used to go into Tom and Jerry's and sell tickets and they go into Valentine >> and we're not going to advocate for our children we go into there that I'm telling you Tom and Jerry's that was the place to go. >> They got a lot of the best buyers. Are those the ones >> that

064are sitting in coffee? They have coffee for me. >> There is a coffee group. >> Yeah. >> Any further discussion main street? >> Yep. Um there's just one other thing. I reached out to Mr. Bame as the chamber director and I guess with a lot of different hats on and you know the the importance of volunteering and being eligible or being able to put your volunteer hours on like scholarship applications. So, I asked him if he'd be interested in handing out to the junior class um like a form if they're interested in filling out like a consent form um if they're interested in being re allowing us to reach out to them for volunteer opportunities but for the PTSA Chamber all those different nonprofit groups that um just to let them know that the opportunity

065is there and so especially there's stuff in the summer or like early fall that we need help with. That's a great >> and just because kids don't know that there is a volunteer opportunity until it's like crap, how am I going to get these hours in three months before the scholarship's due? So, >> well, and I think like you and I were talking just getting that information out to the kids that there's those opportunities >> and then also some of these kids don't realize that having those volunteer options until they start to fill out a scholarship and they're like, "Oh, I haven't volunteered." and just getting it out there, letting kids know that you need to volunteer to get some of these scholarships that can help you. >> Well, and that would be a stepping

066stone toward them applying for a scholarship. >> Right. Right. >> Speaking of days to volunteer, there is going to be a volunteer day June 26. I don't remember the exact thing. >> United Way, the day of action. >> Yep. Day of action. That's the word I'm looking for. >> Yep. Yeah. >> And they have a website you can apply to. There's a more there's a half day shift. There's a full day shift like 8 to >> three. I don't remember. >> I saw the agenda. Yeah, >> that's >> I saw that too. >> I'd love to see our sports teams all sign up. >> Which is a day of action. >> Not to brag. >> You can brag. >> Well, that's great. >> And I didn't thank you letter from the chamber. I realized how

067cricket it is. I was like, "Oh, >> see no other business before us. I will entertain a motion to return >> by director supported by director." All those in favor signify by saying I >> opposed. Motion carries. Thank you. >> Thanks for everybody who attended. >> Thank you. >> You got to give me your papers. They can't.
