Can I entertain a motion to approve the consent agenda? >> So support >> motion by director support by director Simon. Any discussion? I just want to thank M Miss Pertie for putting in for the grant and receiving just I see that they require documentation as as we go along. So that's that's usually the hard part. >> The only comment I had is a parent that approached me about um going from Miss Kado to Miss Rudolph to Mr. Johnson. I'm assuming any scholarships that have been turned in have just been forwarded on or sent appropriately. >> The ones that had to be turned into the school, I

should say. So, the scholarships still get turned into the school counselor. >> And that is a very different position. >> Okay. >> And also would like to thank the Owens Foundation for their charitable grant support our office. Uh hearing no other uh concerns. All those in favor signify by saying I. >> I. >> Opposed. Motion carries. >> Next up we have reports. We have first off we have committee reports. I know we have this under discussion but I'll just say the finance committee did meet the service. >> Thank you service. Um, in regards to insurance options, Mr. Khazar is uh taking some of their suggestions under adisement. So hopefully we'll have some better news in the upcoming month or two. Uh, also we don't I don't see we have our our student reps aren't aren't

here. So, next up would be our elementary principal, Miss Albert. >> I don't have a podium. I'm gonna put my >> Nobody knows where it went. >> We found it. So, I'm going to make sure it gets moved back here. We had borrowed it for our work site and they were going to return it before it got me. I wouldn't have Yeah. a black portable podium in the auditorium. It's just a portable one. You can just pick it up and carry it around. >> It's nice to have it like that. So, like, >> right. Well, that's what I'm saying is I think the auditorium has one that is for that you can use. >> Okay. >> You see, >> all right. So, I have quite a bit tonight, so you might get tired of hearing

me. Um, real quick, um, our preschoolers had their graduation. Um, our BPK class graduated 20 students to go to kindergarten. We had approximately 130 visitors there that day in the gym. Our SR3 class did more of a classroom graduation. They had nine that will be going to kindergarten and they had five that have been promoted to the BPK4 class for next year. Um so they had about 35 m this smaller class. So it was great turnout. um our kindergarten teachers and our preschool teachers as well as Don Kausski um our early childhood uh coordinator have been working really hard at getting kindergarteners ready for kindergarten next year. They've held two kindergarten readiness nights and each night they had around 20 families come through. We they did some things some math activities and sent some home.

We sent lots of books home. Um the second night we focused on uh SEAL um English language arts as well as our um smart program that we use that that basically is curriculum that helps develop those essentual like um motor and sensor gives them and it helps build their sensory and motor skills. So we help parents um learn some different things that they could do to help build those. Um, so thank you to Don Kausski and Megan Lascarvo as well as Karen Copen, Jessica Rice, Nico Stish, and Christina Martin from Head Start because they worked quite a bit and they have we have one more kindergarten thing. It is our sneak peek on May 5th from 5 to 6:30. Um there is a flyer I believe. Oh man, I might have forgot the flyer, but

there is a flyer that has been sent out um for families to register and I believe they put some around town as well. There had been some talk to maybe um sending some to some daycare as well. >> 5 to 6:30 on the 5th of May. speaking with the Vaughn. Um we have a group of teachers that volunteer to work together to kind of do a last harrah for the van. Um so they've been meeting and working together. And one of your first flyers in your handout is a t-shirt that they had. Um they had it designed and they are selling these for $20. Um if you guys are interested in the millennial shirts, you can contact Debbie Frell. He'll get you all ready to go and signed up for that. Um, also they're working

with Miss Po, our art teacher, so they can do some sort of handrint display and banner. Um, they're talking about maybe some music kind of like we did with the CE at the end of the day, get kids pumped up. We'll do like a farewell wave. It's kind of a little bit of It sounds like a tradition that they kind of do on the last day of school anyway. Um, and then, um, I believe Jess, are you the one that designed the sticker? >> Yeah. So, Jess designed a water bottle. >> She designed a water bottle sticker. So, the design is pretty fantastic. Um, and I think they're going to reach out to the PTSA and see if they might help with this initiative to get these stickers so that every student has one. Has

like a picture of the bond on it. It's really cool. Um um again we worked with the Chisum Public Library. We're going to be bringing an author in on May 4th. Margie Prius, she's going to come to the Vaughn and she is going to do a presentation for the the students. We have a flyer as well. I think it's the second page. At 9:00 a.m. she will come and read one of her stories to the students. talk to them about how we are all storytellers and talk to them about their writing and how to get their thoughts down on paper um so they can write their own stories. Let's see the next flyer you have is just letting you know when our spring music concert is. Mr. Baker is inviting you all to attend. Okay.

Um and now we're going to move to the CE building. We had our third quarter awards um ceremony. you have a copy of the specific awards that were handed out, but overall we gave out 98 PBIS awards in three categories. We gave out 115 academic awards in three categories and we gave out 45 attendance awards for students who had been um who had attended school 97% of the time during third quarter. We had so many that were at that 90 and 95 percentile that we looked at the 97% and we still had 45 that had been there. So that was fantastic. Um, one uh big change for next year is our fifth and sixth grade teachers met. We looked at some preliminary MCA data and some other data and we had a discussion that what

we were doing wasn't a best fit for our students. So, the consensus was next year instead of um students moving from class to class and having one math teacher, one ELA, one science and social studies that we're going to try a modified self-contained classroom. And what that means is that the fifth and the fifth grade will have two fifth grade teachers. They'll keep their kids a majority of the day, but they may switch for science and social studies, but they will all teach their own reading and math. that way nobody is on their own island and they have someone to kind of meet with and have discussions with. Um so they will kind of work that out as the year goes. Um we're hoping that this will not only help you know have stronger student

teacher relationships by building community in our classrooms. Um we'll have um so build that sense of community. We'll have greater uh sense of consistency on expectations. students are struggling a little bit having four different teachers right now. So, we're going to pull it back a little bit. Um, and then it will also help kind of improve our coordination for special education um scheduling. And then last but not least, because I've been up here a lot, um our Ksix TE teachers have been working really hard on those CACR CAC our district goals that we set at the beginning of the year, especially goal three, which is the college and career readiness, and goal five, which is our community, our future civic engagement and community service activity. There's been a variety of activities, but all levels are

participating in this. So, it's great to see. Okay. And then there are a few pictures that kind of like our awards there when we miss a few. We there were so many we had to divide them by grade level. So questions. That was a lot. I spoke fast. >> I do have a question on the modification for the fifth and sixth. Were you getting were you getting a lot of negative feedback from parents or not necessarily? it was kind of mixed. But but when we looked at academics and some some consistent behaviors and and it just wasn't working and you know what the definition of insanity is like if we didn't change something, nothing was going to change. And so we had that hard discussion on what could we do to provide a change but

still give them opportunities to switch teachers because that's an important skill too to learn is how to deal with different people. Um so our thoughts were if we tried it this way it would kind of be a balance between the two um models. >> So with the balance is the the curriculum itself is not going to change. It's just that >> we'll have more teachers. So we'll have two fifth grade math teachers, two fifth grade English teachers. One will teach science, one will teach social studies. So that will be the one they've chosen to flip-flop. Um that way they can work together on we have some new math standards. Um we have fairly new reading standards. So they'll be able to work together and kind of bounce ideas off each other. You know what I'm

doing isn't working for me. Can you tell me like what are you doing in your class that's working? What can I try? Just having those conversations. Sometimes it's really hard when you're the only one teaching that subject. So, we're hoping this will help and it we'll kind of gauge it as the year goes and see what's working and not and adjust if we need to. >> Thank you. Any questions for Miss Elbert? >> Thank you. >> No problem. >> Uh, our activities director, Mr. Baky, >> ready for the game tonight? I see. I'm driving should be limping. >> Um, so my main objective today is to come and have a a short conversation about looking into turf options for us here in Chisel. My main concern is the spring. So, as you can see, u

neither baseball, softball, or track have been on a playing surface outside the spring more than twice. And yet we're playing games or you know so what I am here to ask your permission about is to just explore all turf options whether that be a multi-purpose turf that is includes multi-ports whether that be a baseball specific turf field a softball specific you know um football we can debate, you know, football and how that all works out, too. But what I'd like to do is get the high school league committee that we have um set up. We'll just do a quick little meeting with them. We'll talk through some things um in regard to what that looks like. But um I just think it's time that we take a deeper look at it. I know we've had

some small discussions here and there about the idea of it. Um, but I'd like to explore that a little deeper. Um, just to see um if that's something that would be feasible. Um, we know that our baseball fields need work done to them. We know that the softball field needs work done to it. We know that the football field obviously needs work done to it. So, is it is it best for us to look at each of those separately? Maybe it is. um or is there some sort of combination where we could could have a win-win situation. Um and also on top of that, the beauty of being at Chisum is we're so centrally located. So if we had an option available, um I have a meeting tomorrow with the Hibbing Community College baseball, the

AD to talk about baseball because they can't find a field to play at. So they want to use our baseball field. So, I mean, I know that there are other options that currently have turf, but it doesn't we would still it would it would be busy. If we had an option, people would rent it. >> Um, organizations would rent it. >> It's funny you say that, you know, Travis. I was at a softball tournament for um at Rock Ridge and I was like, you must have put so much money into this place. there's, you know, just numerous fields with all the connecting paths and everything else. And like, you know, when you go down like to bigger areas, they'll have like a central like place and then many places will, you know, we'll rent it

out or use it or schedule it or whatever like you buy ice time or anything else. And I thought about this like why, you know, why don't we look for something like that? Because if I think what is it football, they can put a softball field on the football field. That's big enough. >> Y >> I don't know. I was thinking that actually I had that same thought. I was like why don't we have like a you know a complex >> unfortunately it's not guaranteed. >> That's the problem. I mean build it and they will come. I mean that's all fine as well but >> will they come sell turf in >> in Rockidge? >> Oh my gosh. Yeah. They have one two three four >> four turf y >> baseball two softball and two

baseball. >> And the football field. And then the football field is actually separate out of the turf. >> Well, and and you can look at it like in different perspectives, too. So, a turf field is pretty much maintenancefree. So, you know, we have one guy dedicated to our maintenance in the fall and in the winter or in the spring. So, if if you could utilize that elsewhere, I mean, because there's really nothing there's no maintenance to to really do on those fields. So, I mean, there's plenty of different perspectives to look at when you're exploring the idea, but I mean, even for gym classes, like they're stuck in the gym, you know, I mean, you know, that that could be an opportunity for um the range center, you know, if they wanted to bring kids

like I I believe that if if we do it right, it would be very successful and there would be a lot of demand for it. It's just a matter of how do we want to do it? Do we want to do one multi-purpose that includes football, baseball, softball all in one field? It's possible. or do we want to look at just what baseball field and then you can have the temporary fence put out for softball games like and that's why I thought you know if if the high school league committee we have gets together we kind of talks through some things give me a little direction to go in but I just think doing the deep dive and exploring all the options based on the last two years of spring that we've had here I

mean in total we've had less than 10 practice practices in two meters outside. >> So, so I would just like to as long as you guys are okay with me um getting that meeting set up and starting to explore some ideas and and then instead if you you look at the cost of like fixing the fields that are there but then if you can't get all used on them you kind of you can't fix the leather. >> Right. Right. So it might end up making sense. It's a good idea. >> Is there typically opportunities for grants for something like this? Is there opportunities for sponsorship in naming rights, things like that? Like are those things that are working pretty well? >> Sure. I mean, Twins used to have a grant. They do. They still have

a >> safety doesn't do. >> It used to be where they would resurface your whole track and all with health and safety. >> Yeah. I mean the there are some grants that are specific to field repair um that we could certainly look at. Um I look at it like it you know in my eyes that's a park, >> right? I mean >> right the RB has a park grant. you know, not saying that, but something that we could consider going after, you know, especially because we do have a park right off the football field. >> Um, and so I just think there's definite options and I know of schools that have gotten state funding to help with certain things. So, obviously the legislature is what it is right now, you know, but it doesn't hurt

to look, right? And so that's basically all I'm asking for is are you okay with me having all those conversations? >> We should check all options. >> Talking can't hurt. >> At this point, >> right? >> So might be a good time for a maintenance person to hold the fields maybe. >> Yeah, without a doubt. >> It is rather timesensitive. Just know that we do have some IHF B dollars that we need to make some decisions on whether we're using it for fields or not using it for fields. So, this is something that is a little bit more timesensitive than not. >> Okay. >> Very good. >> Any other questions for Mr. Baky? >> Prom I don't handle prom. Mr. Bame does, but based on what I heard, it went very well. Mr. Bame, I

talked to him this morning said it went very smooth, very well. Kids had a great time. So I didn't get any calls from anybody. So I assume everyone behaved. >> You didn't have any write ups at the high school level today. So >> Kan has um provided postprong and today and she said there's about 36 kids at the armory. >> Yeah. >> She said but next year not four hours, three hours cuz by 2:00 most of them were ready to leave home. Yeah. >> That's a pretty good job. >> I was surprised. Yeah. We had 25 signed up I guess prior to more people the postprom and then when he announced it he let people just show up and >> all right thank you >> thanks >> thank you >> superintendent >> so I've got

a few things on the discussion that I will leave I failed to get to the discussion part of the agenda but um couple other just little announcements that were added last minute today I did receive a call from Hibin public schools. Um, and we had a brief conversation about whether or not um we would be ready to have a joint collaboration meeting in early June um to talk about any collaboration on projects or or programs. And so I guess that would be the first question I would just have out to the board. Um would you like me to proceed with that? >> Sure. >> Yeah, it would be a great to >> Yeah. The one thing though I would like u I mean we're only discussing at this time some one or two specific items

just to start with. I don't want a whole plethora of items thrown on the table and >> and everybody's jumping around from our subject to subject. >> Something that they think they are willing to work with us on >> something that we want to work on with that we're interested in. Maybe each come up with a couple items that are interesting. >> Yeah, I' I'd like to keep it at two items. >> Yeah. Well, I do know so working with Gary Lee from MSCA, his recommendation is to not bring any items to the first meeting >> to really just understand tax impacts for different choices that you make, different collaboration models that make sense. Um, defining what cooperation looks like, um, which is different than consolidation or joint collaboration or different things like that. just

really getting kind of some common language and definitions. Um, with the understanding that we would leave there with an action item that says prepare an agenda that has one or two items for the second meeting, but the first meeting was intended to be just kind of some information unless you'd like to go a different >> Well, when you say tax implications, there shouldn't be any tax implications for collaboration. >> There could be some with the ILR, I believe. Um, there's some things with grants and different funds. I think that's probably what he's talking about. >> Oh, cuz some grants are only granted to people that collect >> that collect. Yeah. >> Yeah. I I don't Again, Mr. Vaky just talking. >> So, we're looking at the first week of June. Is that a conflict for

anybody? >> Just on a Thursday. I need gone June 4th through the 8th. So it's for the second or the third would have to be Yep. both those days. >> So, they're going to bring that to their board at their next meeting Wednesday conversation. >> Um, >> other things, just wanted to give you a little update. Um, of course, everybody likes to hear about enrollment. So, we um surprisingly at this time of the year from our last meeting to this one have enrolled six students. Um odd time to enroll students, but they did come in. So, we're up at 2702. We're still down about 10 from last year. Um our K numbers right now are anticipating right around 43 if everybody turns their papers back in. And so, we're closely watching those every single day

as well. Um, so we're kind of holding steady to where we were expecting to be. Um, academics wise from the summer standpoint, we've pushed out a lot of information about some trainings and some PD that's available. So, you heard Principal Albert talk just a little bit about, you know, looking at some of our data and we're not loving the data points that are coming in. We know that we need to look at things just a little bit differently than we maybe have in the past. And so one of the things that we've pushed out is a summer math PD series. There's new math standards coming on board. Um so that's a 4-day series that's available being presented by the NESC. We will receive our title audit back here soon. Um we've already received our preliminary

audit back. Um there's some different things we need to do in title um to reinvision what that looks like. We have a title day planned. We have a day for our medical emergency response team and CPR training plan. Make sure everybody's ready to go before the first day of school. Um, so lots of things. So, everybody thinks that educators have the summer off. That is the biggest life fallacy ever. Educators do not have the summer off. Um, they are often in getting their rooms ready, doing PD and things like that. So, um, those will be coming through this summer. Any questions for me on those items before we get to the discussion items on this? >> I don't have anything. Uh Mr. Rocky though, if I might just >> ask you a question just kind

of a followup. Um we have a collaboration going on with Northwoods baseball that is any going well or >> It is. Yeah, it is. Uh it is going well. Um we have eight baseball players total that coming from Northwoods. Um they are also part of our co-op agreement is they are providing Northwoods is providing the transportation for the baseball teams which is working out very well helping us out with our um transportation and uh the kids. I've talked to multiple baseball players. They all enjoy them. are having fun and um you know uh I I think as we continue to talk about situations, you know, there's potential for more there, too. So, um I know they've reached out about track. I haven't really dug into anything when it comes to that, but um but baseball

is going very well. I've heard nothing but positive comments from the from the uh Northwoods parents that I know. Um, I know some of the parents that their kids are playing. So, yeah, seems the AG's happy. You know, we talk almost every day. Um, I'm sure Jurick and I. So, yeah, it's going very well. >> Seems like he's an issue. I mean, Travis can speak to this this week alone. Cromwell for junior high had to doesn't have a team. International Falls doesn't have a junior high team. These are all games that were scheduled. think probably the people we played last year that were there that made the alone could feel the like seventh eighth grade baseball team. >> Yeah. >> So >> yeah. >> So it's nice when you can like I know those kids

they don't have it's good they're closing obviously others far away but it's kind of sad that they're apparently an issue like they're just >> we're their closest neighbor. Yeah. Thank you. Moving on personnel, we have approved the nonationary procedure Pearson effective June 30th, 2026. Entertain a motion. >> Motion by director Rice. >> Support by director. Any discussion? I think it's important for me to note um just publicly that this has nothing to do with a skill set. This is not a non-renewal for any of those types of reasons. It's related to a staffing issue. It has nothing to do with performance. >> I was kind of looking for a letter like nothing for performance at all related to this. >> Any other discussion hearing? None. All those in favor signify by saying I >> I

>> oppos administrative business move the updated 2025 202.6 6 apps seniority list with the addition of early education aids, Indian education and bus drivers by director Lappy, support by director Simon. Any discussion? All those in favor signify by saying I. I. I. Motion carries. Item nine under discussion we have first up family service collaborative chisen public schools Hibing public schools partnership. >> So going back to just talking about a partnership and one or two things that maybe just work together naturally is the family service collaborative which is a agency that really kind of oversees all kind of social emotional family supports things like that within the region. um they have been opening family resource centers kind of across the region. They're across the state or across the country and they had one grantee that they

needed to resend that funding from. And so they have approached Hibbing and Chisum Public Schools to see if we would be interested in utilizing the money for one year. there's only one year left of the funding um to provide additional supports to our families. Um what that looks like if you've heard us talk about adverse childhood experiences. Um so there's five protective factors that you can build to combat adverse childhood experiences and that's what this is really based on. So it would be supporting our families. Um they would give us a right around $60,000. um we would partner that with some of the money that we have left over for the attendance pilot to make a 1.0 contracted position. So that would not be a hire by the district. It's just a contracted position um

that would come in to serve families. About 30 hours of that would be here in Chisum and about 10 hours of that they would go over and serve some families in Hibbing. That's just a partnership between Chisum and Hibbing um and the Family Service Collaborative. If that's something that that works really well, um there are two ways to continue that funding after next year. Right now in the legislative um session, there is some language that says if we can show that we've reduced absenteeism by 20%, that there's ongoing funding in perpetuity. So, next year will be an incredibly big attendance push year because we need to prove that we can do that. And the second one that many of you have heard of that we've not applied for in the past is a community schools

grant. A community schools grant can also fund this same position. Um but we before we dive into something that large, we'd like to see, you know, kind of how it goes for a year um in a contracted position. Um so at this point um I'm just curious if you guys have any questions or concerns. Ryan was doing >> so Ryan was doing the attendance pilot piece but not the other piece >> not the other piece. Yeah. So that should they would pick up some of that work. They would not meet directly with students. This is all meeting with the caregivers only. So this is not a student level support. This is to combat the struggles that we're seeing with our our community and our families and helping them grow their wings so that they can

better support their their youth. they can get. I say, >> you know, if >> I'm all for it, >> it would not cost the district anything that's covered by by grants. Um, but it would be a one-year position. I >> mean, any kind of support we can get our families. I mean, I think it's great. >> It's kind of um interesting because that's the ACES score is something that you hear all the time now in like um treatment courts and things like that. People who have average child experiences end up having addiction issues. They end up having criminal issues, criminal issues. They end up having lots of issues because they have a high ACE score. They hit these different things that happened from their childhood. So, it's definitely um >> you can help. I think

it's well worth it. >> I don't think it doesn't sound like that. I think helpful. >> Yeah. The second one I'll toss over to our business manager insur insurance update. >> Yeah, thank you. Like Mr. Casey talked about already, we met last week with a service co-op. Just wanted to go through a little bit more, have some more information about how their insurance pool works, how the renewals work with their pricing, um, and what information we need to provide to get a quote looking ahead to our September health insurance renewal. Um, so we have submitted information to proceed with that quote. Um, but just wanted to make sure we we're looking at all options that are out there considering uh what our health rates did last year. So there'll be more discussion to come uh

with our insurance committee as we gather more information. >> And we have an insurance committee, right? I mean, who's on it? That's the finance committee. And then they have to meet with Once it gets to that level, they have to meet with both unions are involved in that process >> because there there's always I mean when I was working here there was finance uh or insurance committees that you know the unions set up and that they were part part of all of this because it's it's just so confusing and I don't I don't think people are getting the message. I don't think they're understanding what's going on. Well, I think our initial uh Mr. Kazar's initial reach out to them is basically to see if they will give us a quote this year because last

year they didn't right >> or >> wouldn't you know couldn't or something anyway we didn't get one. So that I think our initial reach out was just to them u to see what their program is. They gave us some basic information on how the the rates work based obviously it's all based upon usage but where it gets averaged out because we're part of the service co. >> Well and I just don't understand what's changed over the years. The surf's co-op used to always be I mean they used to fight to keep us I mean to make us be belong to it and >> they're large. >> Yeah, I think it has to do with part of it is related to how sick your pool is, >> right? No, I get that. I've heard that for

um 40 years. Oh, you guys are just way too much to use your insurance. Well, you know what? when they're begging us to be a part of it and then all of a sudden, oh, sorry, you know, you got some sick people now. We don't want you anymore. I think that is just pitiful and I just want to be heard about that. I just do. I think it's sad and it's pitiful. >> And as Mr. Khazar and the finance committee continues to talk with them. I know Miss Pertie is part of that committee and very knowledgeable in that so she'll be brought in on the uh teacher side and I'm not sure who the >> Jake from. I'd say it just it was a preliminaryformational gathering. Um, but just when we start having those discussions

to make a decision, want to make sure we have know what all our options are. >> We don't meet as a committee until the bids we until we open. >> Right. >> That's >> right. Yeah. But I mean, those are the things that I mean, >> I would love to just sit in on those because I would I I got to know what's going on with that insurance. >> I need I and I have to hear it and understand it and I was always the one for the ask me unit and explained it to everybody else. I mean, when you understand something, it certainly is easier, but you talk about it, right? >> Yeah. I mean so but when some of those things come up I would really like to I mean I'll sit back

zip but I would love to be a part of it. So then when they're calling me because because I am an ask member or was they call me and they want to know and I like well you know I'm really not a big part of that anymore. I mean, I understand I know the insurance, but I mean, I don't So, just so you know why I'm >> Yeah. It's not It's not that >> we're trying to subvert anything. We're just trying to get information and it was a real general >> meeting. I mean, >> we the only thing that we've really talked about on our district's side is >> what our rate was rate increase was where this year, >> right? >> That's she just went into examples about why this could happen and why

it might stay lower, things like that, and not really pertaining to us in general. that is just such a big part. >> Anything else, Mr. Kaser? >> Uh, no, that's it. >> Thank you. >> Thanks. >> No mosaics. >> Sure. So, um, if you recall, the community has had some input about trying to salvage the mosaics that are outside the entrances of the CE building. Um, so we have asked um, Landware, who is our demolition crew, there's a little bit of money written into there to do some basic um, salvaging. This is a very intensive process. They figure it takes two weeks of a full approve of manpower just to remove the mosaics. The total um that they are expecting which is maybe right maybe a little bit low is $28,650 to salvage the mosaics.

Um so at this point it is difficult for me to make a recommendation to salvage the mosaics at that level. We do not have um in our design or a plan to repurpose those. Um but I'm curious if the board has any other thoughts that are different than that and what you would like me to do with that. >> Put it out there for bid and let somebody else come and take it. If they want it, they'd have to pay it. So, one of the things that we can do, the downside of this option, so one of the things that we could do is put it in the auction and say that the minimum bid is $28,650, which ultimately covers that cost. If somebody were to bid on that, it will delay the project from

that point by two weeks. We just need to know that that is a complete delay that that will happen. Um, if you're okay with that, then we will have the auctioneers start taking pictures of that and put it in the auction. Um, we do have an auction that will go live really kind of miday with the rest of the stuff that's in the CE and then we'll have another one that goes live in June um with some of the bond stuff in there. But >> what is that going to do to our timeline? I mean, I realize it'll be two weeks, but is that like >> um you know, it's hard to say. So, right now, we were supposed to be in the building right now taking out the rest of the stuff. The auction

guy is supposed to be able to be there this week taking the picture of the rest of the work and getting it out. Um, we received notification today that we're at two week delay for additional asbestous removal. They cannot get it done in the time frame that they've given us. Um, and so we're already on a two-e delay. This could potentially put you on a four-week delay. um which really wouldn't impact the demo of the building, but what it will impact is the parking lot, the bus lane, the driving lane. Um so that could be a complication for the fall if we delay too terrible. >> So if something got put out right away, >> we could have an option. Yeah. >> Yeah. They could start taking that down while the asbestous is being removed.

I mean, is what I'm thinking is >> I don't know that possible. >> I mean, it's outside, right? The mosaic feel that they can't get up in there because of the asbestos. So, >> but at least while they're doing well, we're delayed already. Maybe we can get that out and just quick timeline. If someone's interested enough, great. If not, that's >> and put it out there as a quick timeline. Tell them it is. I know. I think that's going to somebody over there. >> Okay. So, we'll do Last time we did the 7-day turnound. >> So, we can do the 7-day turnaround again. We'll have them come in, take pictures of it, put it out as a minimum bid. >> Yeah. >> Um and say, "This is your time, right?" And if it doesn't, >>

then it's pretty pictures of them on his Facebook page that he's taken of him. So, if you use those pictures of his >> Maybe the city would like to buy those mosaics. >> Yeah. But it just it never it doesn't surprise me that it wouldn't surprise me if somebody did. >> Well, they might have a place for it. You might have an idea. >> Yeah. I mean, and those people that used that were raised >> people buy old wood and people buy all kinds of stuff. >> You know, the right people have the right people. They know the right. It's not going to matter to them. One says literature and one says science. Maybe there's someone out there. But >> you need to send those to me and I don't have to search. >> Yeah.

>> Sometimes I mean it's more fun. >> Yeah. >> I mean I was shocked when we had those options for back way in the day and those chalkboards. I mean the ones that were all in the kindergarten rooms and everywhere. People were going crazy over them. I was like, "Excuse me, I didn't want them out of this school." >> Just can we take a moment and appreciate the way she says kindergarten? It just makes my heart happy. >> Kindergarten. >> You say kindergarten. >> Kindergarten. It's so cute. >> Yeah. >> It's very It's very soft. I >> Cuz I've got such a sweet fits your personality. >> Yeah, >> that's it on my my list for >> one other item I have for discussions. I'd like to set a close session uh not at our

next meeting but the meeting on May 26th for the superintendent view. Everybody's okay with that? Did I object? We'll just give you another check mark. So, so a few things. I I know Director Rice has the book in front of her and I may have it somewhere. But, uh, I did superintendent uh we had a webinar just on the evaluation. I looked at the pages and they seem like they were saying that this is you know revised 2019. >> The one thing that they mentioned not to use that whole thing as a review is just to pick >> pick a couple >> five six seven >> focus and then set and then set a couple. >> Yeah. And uh Barb Dorn from MSBA is willing to help us out if any of us want to

call her and they're actually suggesting a review. What did they say? Every six months did this. >> Yes, every six months >> to check in on your goals. >> That might be appropriate for maybe larger schools, I think, or probably pretty good at once a year. It's not like we don't have contact with her as often as we want. So, I mean, there's a problem. You nip it in the bud. >> With that, I have uh is anybody have any other uh information or business before us? >> Um I was talking to with Mrs. Yoshak and Nelson as they're preparing for safety town and she said a parent, one of them said a parent reached out saying that was not doing safety town this year. So they're preparing to perhaps be a little bit easier

than usual. So >> yeah, I mean that they can be Are they still doing it in the box? >> No, they will be doing it up here. They'll be using the walking path as driveway. >> Oh, very cute. That'll be cute. >> Collaboration for you right there. >> Are we getting stuff done or >> Yep. This weekend all the boxes have removed. Uh, so we found a few more today that made their way to the hallway. Um, we'll have another room. Oh god. But everything was packed. >> Dave was like, I went down on Sunday thinking >> they went Sunday. >> Just missed. >> I would know. Soul. >> So you're getting people to help and >> probably not enough. It's very similar to the CE where it's the same four or five people that

show up and they're tired and they're exhausted. Um, but they're showing up, so we just have to kind of pay attention. Some of them we have to tell them, "No, you can't maybe take overtime every day of the week because sooner or later you you need a bed and and some dinner." >> Um, >> but some people are just wired that way and they did the same. You have to keep the same thing when you got opportunity to stuff that needs to come over to sleep. The whole basement there for the most part has been cleaned out. The stuff that's down there still is going to auction. We have a couple of things that need to move over to the CE that um Robbie and I looked at today, but the vast majority of the

basements cleared out, including all of the Head Start stuff, which took up an entire room. >> So, that was a big big undertaking. >> And what about our key fobs? Ours still work here? >> Yep. >> Okay. Because I mean, they never used to. they just only looked over there. >> So, if it doesn't work, then just stop in and see one of the building secretaries. They do have access to activating them. Um, >> we're working through some keys right now to make sure that >> we don't have access. >> It's a new program. >> Oh, >> and he said it is. >> He told me personally that you're not going to get it for a while. >> Okay. So, where do they go? I >> Joe is Yeah, but he's not the easiest to

find in the >> but I get in touch with Joe. >> Yeah, I would say we would want to still see our building secretaries and then he could go into the system and >> as long as he knows the number on it ordered some keys because the L the bond keys don't work up at the high school. So those have been ordered yet. >> It's a total different program. We were using two portals before and I'm not sure what the new program is. So that's some >> Yeah. >> And I know the high schools came there was going to kind of wait till it was all on one. No, I think I think >> anything else. >> Seeing no other business before us, I will motion to adjourn. >> Motion by director Marty Simon, support

by director. >> All those in favor? >> Opposed? Motion carries. Time is 554. and deficient.
