[Music] please stand for United States of America the na mission tonight nobody's live on the screen so we take our vote tonight time for vote no hand on the so the agenda there thank you there a second second thank you rob any questions on the adoption of the agenda I would like for us to postpone the superintendent evaluation one reason is um we've got some really um put together some good smart hols that are measurable and Mets assigned to them and the documentation that we have doesn't really reflect that and so I'd like for us to hold off and make sure that we adjust that the other thing is what I'm thinking is I think it's on the agenda for next meeting to present that evaluation and so the approved goals were did for smart
gos and so if we're going to publish that then to our public then it's not going to they're going to look at it and go the goals weren't really attached to those it so and then also since we don't have two members here it would be nice to have the discussion with the full board yeah just as a clarification by after full session there's an evaluation at the very next meeting there summary presented so that's why there's always one at one meeting you know the full section yeah so so so with that in mind s that is actually showing and how the district last year he put show what did you see email but what I'm saying is the document that we all worked off of does not have these specific goals on it it
just got categories that are linked to these goals which um you know one category is linked to like goals and strategic plan is linked to everything so have 11 categories that are linked to all of these smart goals in here um it just there's there was when I when I went through I couldn't I couldn't really do a fair evaluation for example one of the goals that I shared with with Mr Anderson is he he uh made an improvement by 78% it's not even on the it's not anywhere in the documentation there's no numbers percentages that were achieved in the documentation so we all thought it was good the goals that you know that we went forward with for this year but it's not going to be reflected in um what percentage of the board
members filled out the evaluation three out of yeah and I was one of those who didn't fill it up I got in town on Wednesday I asked in fact I email text you and asked should I fill it out something no I asked you through text message if I should let me find my I should basically fill out that as I can fill out the survey tonight or after work tonight um as I just got in town or we can talk about it at Monday's meeting let me know if it's not too late to fill out the survey you said nope good to go we will discuss his goals that Monday's meeting thanks and welcome home and I wrote back to you nope is it too late or nope good to go and you never
responded so I didn't know what to do I didn't I didn't know if we were going to come up with a different evaluation because I know there's concern about the eval whether it actually matches the goal so that's where I'm little well seeing that there is two missing I would be in favor of pushing it back to meeting yeah what meeting are pushing it back to isn't there our next meeting at work then would have to be the meeting after that oh one more thing too I know the MCA is due to we're supposed to get MCA next month so that would good also because some of the goals were against the MCA scores which we don't have anything yet so that was the other thing as I was going through our documentation looks like
that's going to come out next month so it would be better we already approved the district was not holding anything up when I talked to superintendent Anderson he said yeah you problem yeah I'm I'm okay regardless just as a verification the um I'll be on vacation for a couple of weeks and so the earliest it could be would be the second meeting in August we'd have to double check the the timeline and we can actually release information about the MCA scores it's I think the one of the first days of the State Fair what days those are so if we aren't able to share results at second meeting in August and I would suggest waiting until so that all that information can be included yeah be first or second meeting in September okay do that
we change the agenda the evaluation you want to wait for MCA in September wellc state school year so it could be September well I think the cool thing is is that um superintendent Anderson already put out the three to high your goal so the break your goal so it's not everything's stop he already has go that he's continuing to work he's going to continue to do the improvements needed so I just want us to get this this right because I want us to do it you know so that it makes sense and that it's to to goals that that we can call understand and simplistic I don't think it has to be so complicated so I will to have a further discussion tomorrow okay so we got a motion board to to adopt the agenda
we have a motion to the amendment to postpone evaluation second thank you Amy we have an amendment and a proposal on the floor Amendment First Amendment post evaluation until possibly September say oppos motion pass on the floor toop the agenda all fav say I motion pass go watch right visitors first up will be jean jean well we'll be super nice tonight let's say three [Music] minutes I wasn't to came for the purpose of attending the policy committee meeting and I was a for I got here C and so my concern is that calendar website who we update was not I looked at 5 minutes before I left still on so I don't know responsible for that I don't know how many places this date shows up it's just just show one one place first calar
please correct that the other thing is it's just the follow Mr Anderson there I sent him an email June 13th there's a couple items trying to find out status of some of the books and uh and the other thing I think was the uh or the pron issue policy was so I did not not her response this was second year I think at first I send a cop so every I just I expect the response can y me later please do not thank you and just a quick response I can talk about bolks during the admin next hey Lord and superintendent cabinet constituents J Humphrey o I just I have on there Department Mr sh he he's no longer with the district which means he was also the debate coach uh so I just uh
I already had um Communications with the new AV Miss Johnson um she responded that they're already looking and I just wanted toh put it out there how important this uh activity is uh just a conversation with Mr T here about how it's a life skill uh having U beating my son in an arguments since he started to it's it started out a small between speech and debate and I think right now they're pushing about 20 people I think that started like about six um just a couple years ago like when my son started so um good luck to you finding uh the new coach is debate families and um even the students would like to offer up and help in that regard uh you know any information that you need from us anything that would
help make that ande this on my C but I also wanted to touched on the marching band is over for the season and that started last year they had about 80 to 90 people and this year they're at 130 people so really like to uh give the testimony out to the kids then the parents that volunteer and then of course directors at the high school Mr B and then at the Middle School Mr wner there this is really a destination um school district for the Arts the theater um any of the music through Coral or bands all types of bands marching band jazz these bands and then like I said the speech and debate I really think there's a lot of great things offered at our district and like I said can help need be
with the new de hire sh the ropes once you guys do hire them but uh we really appreciate attention being paid to that because that's a huge asset to the school district and it's it's students so that's all I have to say thanks thank you J next not Richard I want to talk about EI tonight let's start by getting some definition sorted out ification is a pattern where online services and products experience a decline quality over time is observed as plat through several stages quality services to attract users then shifting to faor business customers to increase profitability and finally focusing on maximizing for shareholders at the expense of both users and customers this process results in a significant deterioration of the user experience a variety of platforms have been described as examples of this including

to the next step as far Asing teachers who are willing to be on the challenge book uh committee so I want the media center specialist position uh to be facilitating those kinds of discussions so uh we'll be able to get those teachers involved I think there's an administrator or two is also involved with that and so then we can look at some of these books hopefully be at the high school level the media center uh well the media center by the way she's not currently LIC but we're confident that she'll be tier one license know which has to be red on B but she will be responsible All Med uh she currently Works media Aid at Cedar 3 and so she will likely be based out of there she should be really good so that's
the quick update about challenge books I think we have one or two that are in CU and then Heidi is also reviewing a number of books they haven't been officially challenged uh at her level but she's still reviewing many books has she G then through the media training because there's like this whole training for Media Center specialist has she already gone through that then no she hasn't yeah so she has AE and in order to become eligible for tier one teaching license subsequent tier one teaching licenses she need be part of the program and so she'll be doing that start this fall iume she has informal training on a lot of those areas but she'll this is a certification or something isn't it yeah I'm not sure uh another update I'd like to give you
hasy services so I did uh contract with ciso for review of our technology program had a meeting in the cities today people from CES in developing the analysis and sharing their recommendations so they're making some minor adjustments to to that that I'll be receiving in the next couple of days and what they do when they present recommendation plan is they'll say these are things we should do now other things that should be done soon and then other things that can be done and so that's the the gist of the report uh it's much more comprehensive than I had imagined and it came to me a lot earlier I thought they'd finish this in October or November but they turned it around in just over a month and it's uh very detailed so after I received
the updated report the district at it and see what we can do in the costol sort of goal or at least determine how much additional cost or how much potential savings we could have some the changes so I'll be sharing more details meetings and let me just find my admin report here to see what else oh I'd like to uh recognize a few different people first of all erros and Saints manufacturing were recognized with through the remember them Memorial and uh it's at the Cedar Creek Conservation area which is off count Ro 9 and 22 Mike star leader Mike and two others who really took the lead and U so I was able to attend and it was it was really well not only the program but also Memorial so it's open to the public
I know everyone goes there it's kind of a a nice part with a walking trail and of course hopefully we can and AA people team three of us work for 15 months and put it together on the 27th of June 200 people we had members of family members that flew in from Florida Arizona New Mexico nor so we had a good turnout for all the families it was very very successful that day please pay time up again these are four St Francis High School students who graduate St Francis 51 year so Saints manufacturing did a lot of the work for the memorial including these cutout iron steel and one of our students I believe she just finished nade yeah so she'll be a sop coming year she's the one who designed it and really impressive
not only kids but just the whole program uh the election filing uh timeline for the four seats that are available remember is from July 30th to August 1 the elected board members will take office January everyone Second Step curriculum was offered Tow and U you know just wanted to make that not and then the last item has to do with direct admissions Minnesota colleges it's a program at the office of higher education and the purpose of it is to try to keep as many Minnesota students studying After High School in in that's the goal of this we don't want our students leaving places by jobs the goal of this program is to try to get as many as possible here to do that one of the things ucation is doing is to try to remove
the bureaucratic nightmare comes with applying for multiple challes so that's the purpose missions program I wanted to just put it out here so the word wasn't if the high school decid do it they're still looking at it just to make sure it's a good fit for the high school but it might what kind of resources do we put towards that activity because I know we used to have a g I don't know what we've got lately but I know because of the transcripts sending of the transcripts there there was some Communications things that we did from a high school standpoint does this reduce that or add to there is to stay the same I think you're probably well I know Theo was one of the individuals too that was doing that in the yeah yeah
I'm not sure who does what of the high schoolt necessarily but Don really does a lot of um College Prep working students and that kind of thing does this help that or does it not help it or it add well it um depends on I think timing and perspective so I think there is uh some additional work that has to be taking place uh initially uh because students um information would not be shared with every College you know there has to be an analysis are courses and then you know that information is shared with the college so there' be some Prep Prep work um you know with our student management system to get that information or to make the so that Parts additional work but I think overall the workload would probably be less uh
because then at least counselors are working with students on multiple applications five 10 different colleges you know automatic so it's an opt in or an opt out yeah I'm glad you asked that question I I me I hope that we're not going to prepare every student's data and then they have to opt out I would hope it would be an op in yeah right now the way it is that parents can opt out of by the way you have the same concern and so I was really reluctant when Andy Sherer brought it you know to cabinet's attention um you know for the kind of the reason you said yeah um so the school would be oated to provide Pura notice you know to all parents indicating how they can hop down um however uh the
information is not automatically sent to colle at that time the students have to pick the colleges they want the information to go to so the students can Po in to send the information to particular so it's kind of an OP parents and op but for the district we're stuck with the data collection the data I mean we're still we're doing that for everybody and even though what is it what was the percentage of college I mean the positions that needed a for your college degree was about 15 to 20% yeah something like that Max so so we're doing that for all of our students yeah and I'm expecting that Larry Brockman one of our data analysis experts uh can find a way to retrieve that information from the student management system so it's not you
know culation for every student yeah so I'm confident that that will happen but I'll guar almost guarantee that the high school will not want to do it unless there's something like that okay okay so they we haven't decided to do it yet correct that's because I see it's a pilot it's a pilot the State Office of higher education is using it as a pilot they have I think 150 schools that are participating uh right now they want 151 High School part of it and I will tell you from perspective the first thing I did when I saw that list is to determine if what of time that's where my youngest son you know goes to high school lives with his mom in a water time he's not really his strong suit is not filling out
paperwork especially redundant paperwork uh and so as a parent I was really hoping to see water time because it would really save the bureaucrat you know that gos and so I was disappointed by that hoping we can make life a little bit easier better students and parents that get you know eliminate that it's but the high school is not sold doing their due diligence before thank you for those questions I I don't think we talked about this before but I have exact same questions when that's all question I have a question um any discussion um happening with schools on the Circuit of the eth circuit ring um against leville and the black lives matter posters Andor from uh year or two ago it just was um in July of this year where they yeah I
think they just re they just reinstate or just reaffirmed the case in the I'm reading it here the ath circuit um court and the court appeals I'm sure there's an appeal process that's happening there from Lakeville but basically they're affirming Upper Midwest lawsuit lawsuit against Lake F School District uh that was filed in 2023 so 2023 the last was filed but again there they just confirmed it here in the end of in June that um it's going through the appeal process and what I've heard is that it's probably not going to be overturned as like probably like to see it what's the issue that's the issue of the black lives matter side and they said no the blue lives matter so they're basically um incur well neutal school on the walls yeah I'm not to
well ful of having any of their public institutions and to not to stay neutral which is I guess what I've been trying to push for for years and so maybe we can talk about it at the policy committee but um I am curious as to what the discussion that's happening within schools with that gr yeah I know that uh I'm not particular familiar with that case um but you know I'm not aware of any matters um posters or Flags in our in our school district I'm also not aware of any blue lives matter or anything like that that's tied to a particular political group you know I'm just not in some of the Articles I'm reading though they're talking about other plagues that are in schools rainbow plague or other things they're just saying that
if you're if you make room for one you need to make room for all be prepared otherwise can be seen as discriminative at the policy committee we did discuss the possibility because I ran that some questions by our uh about removing Flags or posters regardless of perspective perspective her recommendation is to either let it happen uh you know keep those flages up or remove essentially everything from class and so we can certainly bring that up again at upcoming policy committee and in fact I think think we had that discussion here briefly like in February because I I know that one of the board members suggested well but if you remove everything and you know she's talking about me and I thought the same thing well what about an Air Force Insignia you know that might
be in in my office because my son going the Air Force or my youngest son you know does that those kind of things I'm just I'm just using my office just as an example every classroom so but yeah we can certainly talk about those things of issues at another perfect I appreciate that so District stated that it was expression of private activist to which the district government seal of approval and there's a very there's a difference between some of the things that are posted currently in our schools at this question whether whether that would be activism or that is us not considered activism and also they also stated that either neutrality or allowing everything which is what we're doing right now is allowing yeah and I requested that we remove everything from the walls and
that we don't promote m b did we get the American FS up keep for getting ask are they up yes they are and then the second thing I have is U Title 9 is getting ready to take place the changes in Title 9 getting ready to take place the first of the month which is next Tuesday does not apply to sport so shared locker rooms and shared restaurant but it does not apply I thought that was interesting be okay nothing else we move on thank you very much1 District director agreement and before we make a motion we need to make one inventorial change on the very last page of the agreement bottom it says the 2022 23 school year it should say 2024 school year so apologies for not catching before okay is there a
motion for accept motion by second discussion all fa say I motion pass thank you very much next up is activity Sports feed as you seeing here all over our athletic events we haveth grade 12 grade to accept than second thank you Amy discussion yes sir sorry I [Music] um in there it says the free and reduced two different prices is there the differentiation between free and reduce I think they're just one power there still two classifications uh you know that's a good question course complicated because state laws I'm assuming that there's still a difference between produ lunch kids uh because that's a designation but we can certainly double check to better understand how that interacts with these activity fees there's two different prices reduced are free and reduced yeah yeah those are based on income
income guidelines for specific um nutrition services are really overseas for much because of the confidenti piece there's really strict so we can yeah for for meal it doesn't matter it's thing but I think there's still the designations that could impact these kinds of decisions well what percentage of parents is it the same percentage that is filling these out or has it dropped significant it um I don't have the actual numbers but I'm confident that it's strong and uh you know some there's kind of counterbalanced now there's some automatic things that can happen that include parents in the list of people qualifi but and and that's really important because compensatory dollars are contingent on how many people qualify it's a very good deal so we'll be pushing and pushing parents to S Club and you look
at Minneapolis they're even they have they get way more than we do they get so many poverty their numbers POG they're they that was back in the 90s they they get double or triple of what we get for so I'm just wondering how if they figur it out has there been discussion with school districts with the state how to get an accurate number or are they going to change how they um they give up compensatory dollars um I would say it should change anyways because I know kids who um are doing very well and their kids struggle academically so I different way that to do it accurately but I don't think right now it's it's working I'm not sure if they've looked at a way to solve that yeah I know it's it's one of
the most important discussions that the educational groups are are having with the state and I know they extended the old harmless period for compensatory funding which is a very in St Francis but I know there going to be some continued discussions because there are different ways of determining that kind of information so I have no idea it's end up but that's all the information so when they say hold harmless do they go with numbers that were a year or two old is that what they're doing oh and I'm sorry if you don't I don't we don't have have anybody from finances here tonight so I don't mean to put on the spot just I'm curious what's running through my mind here and two years ago I would have been able to answer that question but
I know that our and and moving for will get at least that much but I don't recall how and I would hope that someone has having strong communication with them because hold armless for a year or two means we're not going to deal with it we don't know how to deal with it so we don't want to punish schools but they're also not coming up with the solution they need to do solve the problem which is free lunches doesn't work when you're trying to figure out who gets free and reduced you get free lunches no one's going to f issue they need to solve if I could just make one com so compensatory dollars is largely not entirely largely determined by like well whatever calculations they use which I know have been based on so
however the money that's generated can and and is spent on all students so for example the money can be spent [Music] on that Guidance just work so this might be a question for you Chris um do parents have to say that they want this or automatic um yeah let's let's get back uh oh that they uh either they qualify automatically through one of the state reporting systems or I believe they have to um but I think they're different ways that school districts can do that so I I how about if I talk to Wy ory to get quick summary as far as generated for that sorry no for the the sports feed oh Sports feed so if they filled all the paperwork do they get that rate or do they have to apply sense yeah
so it's it's been three three years since I on this um Heidi had Heidi had the same access and had to sign to get access to that database and so they there was no separate years know today but I would thank um so these activity fees it looks like they're staying the same as as was last year um have costs increased we so we're eating the extra cost rather pass to make we've always subsidize these program include debates and sports and you know all those different activities cost have increased try to become more comptitive coaching salaries and salaries which was thing to do but we decided we didn't want people onp right I wanted to make sure that our public understands that we're leaving it the same for the good of the students that they
can keep participating it's been you know it's been this r yeah it was it was PRI I think it was actually but even even my last year which was again three years ago and so you know your point to say cost of foods have gone upost has gone up facilities um but as first people pretty want offer these OPP we want to reach more kids not less hard that's analysis what is the similar districts you know it's it's really hard for me to say that we should increase your now and a new ad coming in just say hey spend job for two weeks let's incets well Chris you know you're just going to keep getting hold into these conversations CU you're in that role for so long are we in the middle the top and
work charging do we do you have no idea and I understand if you don't I would say three years ago we were we were top or okay you know so it's probably safe to say we're we're not at the bottom put it that way [Music] okay pleas 2024 2025 say motion pass thank you very much next up is long-term maintenance plan that you see in there all the numbers and the ideas for 10 years old toel than you second you miss discussion discussion allv long second thank you much last time are you learning to AC second by fam discussion e-learning days how that works fam yeah so um here are a lot that you learning isn't necessarily such a good way of going but my me if I'm wrong it looks like we want to
have the option in case we want to use it do you want to expand on that a little bit yeah yeah so here the first two days of bad weather we would just close school and not make up days and then starting on the third day uh then we have two ways to go we could either adopt e-learning days for the next five days that's maximum or we could make up during the school calendar could be on President's Day during spring break it could be in June and so the way I view it it's it's the Lesser two evils I'd rather have an learning day than making up a day in June I think there's an argument that neither option is a good one for anyone involved um but I think e learning is the
making up days so I hope that answers your question that it gives abil do that instead of making yeah because well I I go back to the co days and there was so much um negative that went with that e-learning por of when we going to co so and I'm not sure do we know how successful the e-learning days were I mean we did we have any of that last year we did not use uh we did not have an e-learning plan in place for this past year and of course it was the first time in my career I never had to wake up early to make a decision of my school no starts the year before then because I know we I know we had these year before was was yeah so are we
doing something different I mean when you say really bad it's because we had a number of them right yeah the number of days and you know was sometimes in a row often not it was it was a tough winter so some of some of the concerns that I heard from parents was the the hours that the teacher was available for the students so I'm just wondering if we did make some adjustments that are reflected in one of the attachments okay as far as the time that teachers are and you know more specificity as far as expectations uh so there are some changes uh there is no doubt in my mind that inperson learning is much better than e-learning days no doubt um the question though I'm I always think about is are better than making
up days at the end of the school year um because in that case we'll have very low attendance we'll have other issues looks like it's from 9 till 2 which I don't know that large anybody remember what it was before it was yeah we an extra hour in there then there's some other changes too I don't in there showing what those changes are but it is a stronger plan now my preference so not have any any bad weather okay we got Mo on the floor all in favor say I pass for all the work you put making that yeah go ahead be one of the ofu and what else do we have you know do want to point out two things because there is a um couple of options as far as when we talking
soci so let me just call up that agenda item I think at at one meeting I mention it be on day we could have if you would like so if you look at the upcoming meeting list I we could discuss so social emotional learning um um at the first meeting in September work as a work session topic or we could do it in October 14th the first work work session in October both those are available so really it's I just want to hear from the board member like discussion we schedu any feeling or discussion if you pick September done September work session September and then if we could leave the October session open for now um because I I see some potential topics artificial intelligence um you know and some other things there may be
something else high priority but we just leave it open just so we cans right now go ahead ma um I just noticed that we've got for the work session on August 12 we've got approved sub pay and miscellaneous pay rates that can't be in work s right that agenda if we want or we can do it the second oh okay is normally that done through consent the other uh thing I'll I'll mention is actually next June running list of topics so I know there was confusion you know um about the uh budget report uh that was done and um you know so what I would like to do for next year is to have a discussion about the budget during session in June first meeting in June and then approval um to me that makes
sense because you can have the full-blown presentation and discussion we can work together we can ask some questions and then we can formalize the needed changes and then present it to the second meeting in June so we are trying to do everything at one meeting you we have time for discussion that's what I'd like to suggest because I think that would address you know any is so um anyway I'm just throwing it out there and of course that's 11 months away so we can always make changes between now and then but I I think that would be a good thing and so I think I'm trying to follow robs well actually a lot of suggestions from people as far as trying to have discussion topics at one meeting and then approval at the next meeting
so the discussions aren't always session but I'm really trying to I'm trying to figure out something so aiming at anyway okay so next month will be anything have discussion on I do have VI of the student handbook down yeah because I I think Amy we talked about it reviewed U and I thought maybe that could be a work session again only because if there are discussion topics or if I should change some information that present any possible changes at the second Mee we may not prove it I don't think there was a feeling that we need to approve it but there might be something that comes out discussion I need to really look at wording that I can report out the second meeting uh in August so that's my thinking I'm open to doing it
however people want here but that's why it's on up as a work session I don't never having concerns I'm usually the one who says as long as it's policy procedures your deal and so I'm I don't think have ever advocated to approve it here at the table what maybe just a just a report saying what's saying Chang if there's changes it' be nice for the board to hear it okay but I I don't know if you call it approval or as long as it fits in the policies that the board approves it's we hire you to manage and to do yeah more if that's the case then I could session uh and then just report second meeting in August uh the only thing would be if there's a major change then I would just you
know because maybe I share information and you say Caron wait a second this is completely opposite of what we participating then I would need to make that we need to have a good review or discussion then so I know exactly change it so I can issue it before the next students and so one other thing I wanted to bring up so in preparation for the py standards discussion um I would like for some terms to be defined so can I just send something to [Music] you you know based on some of the stuff so that we're talking I think what happens in some of our discussions is a misinterpretation of terms um and and make sure that we're all talking the same thing how many terms of your talking I don't know I don't have
it in front of me I don't know but as I was reviewing I was thinking it would be nice to have some definition let me look at again want to throw that off because that way I don't want us missing because I know we had discussion for I don't know that it was this I think was still zooming in um and there was comments around well that's our special ed kits you know so I want to make sure that we're not talking in apples on the same page so we all understand what our concerns are what does this really mean and what are we actually planning on doing or what are we doing in our schools right now oh yeah yeah you can certainly give me a list my only hesit what I'm a math
person you always you have a cabinet right math people always start with the definition of terms yeah that's always the first thing so I totally get where you're coming from my only it's going to depend on the terms sure because if there's a term used in pby standards then really we would need to determine what the state's definition of those terms are pel's definition okay and so so the sooner the better that's my only hesitation is I don't know if that's easily accessible or if it's something we interpret I'd be i' want to be super careful about interpreting something that state defines so well I think that's one of the concerns is is that if we go by I mean pel has all this training you know all these requirements and I know our teachers
Academy is is you know wrapping around some of this stuff so someone's got to ask something that they're saying this is what this means otherwise if it's if it's interpretable different ways what actually is are people getting certified to you know recertified to and you know they may be well defined I don't know but if you can get that to me uh as soon as possible well I was so just based on our conversation now I'm wondering because I know our teachers are out they're out for the summer um so maybe this maybe this might be something that we would go out to the October I I don't know let me throw you some of the yeah look at it I will be on vacation for you will be but that I I'm not throwing
that out there to delay anything but and I could I could work a day too that's yeah if you send that to me and then at least I can give a a best gift I don't want I don't want us having a conversation where where some of us are thinking one thing and the rest are thinking something else and we're not really having a good conversation what does this mean how are we interpreting it how we going to teach this how you know because I've heard from teachers saying well we don't have to REM manage the classroom I want to understand what is this board what you know what do we think say is okay to go into the classroom what's not okay is there things that are notable we understand the certification part but
anyways I don't want to keep having more of a conversation because that's for the work but okay so okay Rob say the vacation do we want to just give an option of going to October that's what I'm wondering better or how if you send me that information I'll be able to review it and do some research on my own uh and then I'll know within a few days you know if it's doable if it's doable or not okay what I'm hearing is so far the board hasn't really when you ask for days foral and Melby and I don't think the board has big day in mind as long as there the commitment that it's going to be on there so if for some reason pby isn't going to work at the next work session then
you know we would look to the board chair and the superintendent who developed the agenda to then say well let's put this on for this date or dat so that we're aware because I want it to be meaningful discussion that we have at these and to um so that everybody understands what we're talking about what is expected of the teachers and then what does the board expect of what is going in the classroom because some of it is if you're going to prioritize Elby or social emotion discussion at the level would you for a well if we can do August then you know but if if we need to wait on that you know then would you want me September in October which I would say pby first and this is what my gut's telling
me is we have teachers that if they're going to be starting to be certified I'm not sure of the process of when they start but I would guess that you know they throughout the year it's being recertified so sooner the better to find out what can and can't be if because I think you're I don't they're both important no I'm just trying to figure out what you want to do then you want to have billsby in uh August you want in September you you got definition that we don't understand what words we're looking at what you all want to do I I I think am's got a good point as far as making sure that we've get pel spe on front end before the teachers come back so why don't I just send you some
terms and you can you can do a quick assessment and say yeah you know not maybe we want to push that I mean to push it out to to September it's not that big of yeah and to your point we I want to get this done as soon as possible we need to we need to move on you know yeah talk about reading behavior and those kinds of things uh so unless there's different opinion what I'll do is have pby in August if possible if that doesn't work out I'll move it to September and in that case will be in October very so right okay what's what we do well then just ask what we do in August we would have sh meting than usual unless there's something else hopefully next will be the I
don't and all I have a couple items here one the paper here vo approv levies are talking about September a lot of our money to be running out on on a school board level for district do we have a good plan we know for sure what money being phased out who's been hired who programs have been started okay talk here abouta and Min ananka Min ananka first time in 20 years it's actually cutting full-time staff and budget concerns across the state than that big paper came out about Minnesota Olympians and Dakota uh it was in paper and this is St Francis as a high school run 11 has reached out to St Francis the city of St Francis and School District we are hosting a celebration for Dakota the name August 8 it's the morning
show that'll be filming live Stadium from 5: a.m. to 7.m and so come on come all set your alarm box make sure that that got on the public meeting tonight so anybody watching home pencil that in we've been blasting both two social media posts website we also send all stff email we do contact teachers who are going to speak superintendent Anderson be lovely if we could be there not sure what day is uh it is Thursday morning Dakota is the first in our 15 year or so history of our organization Olympian from St Francis area schools so pretty big deal no that's just us celebrating her she doesn't raise until the 11th Sunday morning at 1 a.m. time which is whatever Paris is a good time for not she will not be but yeah we
want as many people it's possible because it's honoring Dakota but it's also recognizing I'll get coffee I'll get everyone C there too talk here forend in high school hockey he went become division to all amican track aete from Northern State University bought with the USA finish 2 hours 25 minutes 31 seconds the US marath trials in February down one twice out there5 years of St Franc we have other close missed out but this is our first one to mention when you mentioned first to go back and listen to the goals of the meeting sometimes in our board meetings it's really hard to hear board members they're M yeah it's like sometimes it cuts in and out and I think it's really important that if we're giving our citizens and our staff and Community an opportunity
to listen to the board meetings that they can listen to it not be you know I was kind of turned in my head trying to say what what are we saying and I was there can't imagine if you're not here is the all wearing out was were these old board meetings um one was just I just then I clicked on the last meeting just to find out yeah it's not as clear as it used isn't as clear as it was a few years ago so I'm not sure that January yeah I think it's I think don't it's the actual owl or it's just the concept of how it's used um you know there are a lot of other schools that have different that result so you did get that yeah yeah has has it always
been that way no they're really clear before earlier in the year this year yes if you go back I wonder because there was feedback and a complaint that they could hear too much like side noise yeah so I adjusted the sensitivity to make it less sensitive maybe move it so there's there's like three settings so I can turn it back up and see if that is helpful but then you're going to get yeah that was some of the feack if I was writing something you know that all of a sudden focus on me you know so we can experiment [Music] compromise it seems like regardless I think it's more important that the words are heard versus where the thing is pointing you know if it's overly sensitive and pointing because somebody's you know making up
no the noise hearing the do show up on four or more of us we have form that's okay we still be there we won't be discussing School Board issue we won't be hanging together but four of us we can be present any problem please mon to support our bring your family bring your friends neighbors please you need people there good day right anything else good
