001a school board meeting to order at 6 00 p.m um we'll start with the roll call charles blacklands here kevin boyles here tom hangman here ruth nelson here jana showrun here sarah speer here all presents thank you and let's stand for the pledge of allegiance pledge and to the allegiance for which it stands one nation under god indivisible with liberty and justice for all wow i think that was the best pledge of allegiance i've ever heard thank you audiences okay this meeting is being conducted in accordance with minnesota statutes 13d .02 it is being you can watch it on youtube live and it is being recorded which will be available on the website as soon as possible and our first thing to do is approve the agenda it is amended we have a couple of
002additional recommendation recognitions we removed an action item regarding sros we removed something under the consent calendar and we combined item 10 under action items you did that so quickly i wasn't sure um we have a first for director shogun a second from director boyle's any discussion hearing none all in favor say aye aye aye same sign motion carries we'll go right on with presentations with first ann marie locker is going to talk about rental fees like super early tonight [Laughter] all right good evening um in your packets you will find two different fee schedules that i have brought um brought with me tonight i'm going to pull them up online here too so at the last board meeting um we we made some changes to policy 902 and one of the things that i had
003asked for at that time was to remove the fee schedule from our district facility policy so that we have a little bit more flexibility with changing that um so what i'm here tonight is to show you what we've done with the getcha zebes center for the arts fee schedule which is completely separated now from the regular fee schedule that you are familiar with seeing in the other or in our policy 902 previously and i'll just kind of walk through that and explain a little bit um our gechozeba manager and i put this together and what we tried to do with it is kind of have different levels of events to put a heavier fee on bigger productions because it's a lot more work all around for our staff from booking the event all the way
004through to the end of the night so you'll see the six different kind of levels of events and we would be determining with the customer and with our gucci zeba manager what level people would come in at and or their event would come in at as they're coming in to use the space the first one is pretty self-explanatory with the lobby use only so anyways i'd like to walk through this and just kind of explain it to you guys how we came about this and then um ask if you would like to put this as a motion to actually approve these or if you're okay with us just having these fee schedules that we kind of review regularly um i you know maybe bring it forward once a year but i'd also like for the
005flexibility to tweak things a little bit here and there as we need them if we have any huge changes that'd be something that i'd like to we've talked about putting together a facility committee that could have a little bit more input on some of this stuff regularly and review it at that level perhaps so anyway but i'll just quickly go through um we would have events that would be at a lobby only event if we wanted to have someone to have a dinner or some type of an auction event or something in only using the lobby wouldn't require the use of the auditorium at all and that would change the kind of staff that we would have to have at that event a meeting event would be something simple where there's just a microphone and
006a podium and audience for a simple meeting that doesn't require a lot of setup or anything and then recital and rehearsal level events um would be um something that our manager would have to help us determine kind of what level of work he kind of bulleted underneath each one the different things that each event would include and that would we would um defer to his expertise to make sure that we're classifying it in the right level and then there's concert and special events where it's really more the bigger production um a big theatrical production or even just a big concert so between those two um let's see here so we've got the fee schedule set up for these different event levels and the numbers when someone approaches us wanting to have an event we will
007actually put together an estimate for them this would be available for them to review but i wouldn't expect them to determine their own prices off of here so we have two people that work with getting that price that's our manager of the space and then our facility schedule dollar we will put up put up the um estimate ahead of time super quick i could yep uh there was some confusion i think early on and maybe it's addressed in here maybe it looks like it is uh specific to the auditorium and then the utilization of the orchestra pit in conjunction with the auditorium is that just included whenever we're talking about these events we assume that some of these entities would be using the pit or not using the pit it doesn't really matter put it
008at a higher level of an event because obviously for a meeting level maybe for a concert you would or a full theater production but well i think of other events um specifically some of the dance events that are in there where they use it as a staging area for dancers that are going to come up on stage or something like that okay so i think there's some confusion on how that how that would work and we have you know we also have other spaces you're not putting musical instruments down there they just have people going down there to get ready to come out do whatever because they can just come right up the stairs and come on there and it seems to me like you can't rent out the orchestra pit separately from the auditorium
009it's not like one group can use one and not the other right right so yeah and there are additional um that's not one of the things on the additional things that's something i'll have to talk to the manager about and see um where that would fit in but i'm sure obviously the full full theater production would could include i mean i don't see it itemized in here anymore so in my mind whenever they're doing something that involves the auditorium it would also include the orchestra it's how i would read that so right that's not how you guys intend it you might want to go back to it yep okay i will put that on my list to check with him on um and then some of the other additional charges that we will have our
010you know for some of the musical instruments and piano obviously the grand piano and some of the technical equipment that's not typical with with the standard rental there may be some extra charges and i would have to defer to his area of expertise when these different things are being used and need to be used so so that is the getcha ziba fee schedule that we've that i feel like a fairly confident draft in um right now we have a few events that are on the calendar that we've waited to put and give them an estimate because we were wanting to get this approved first and and into practice rather than giving them an estimate based off of our old fee schedule you'll notice there's also a or 25 percent discount off of here for non-profits
011so depending on whether they are youth youth-oriented non-profit or a not a youth oriented non-profit so that kind of goes to our other fee schedule that has the different tiers depending on if you're a school event or a non-profit youth or adult so and i like that you spelled out that sales tax is charged separately yes yep that's something that we have not been doing and so there's you know a significant amount that we're paying back almost eight percent i think so in sales tax for those groups that are not a tax-exempt organization on that yep um and maybe more so for the board but you know we've got the the the two tiers two and three and so you've got that discount 20 25 and then it's commercial so these rates are all on
012the commercial or out of town right and i wonder and i know we've received a little bit of emails but if there is a uh not non-profit so for-profit business but they cater or their the performance they want to do are our students that are participating they're enhancing maybe their their arts should we give any additional consideration to that to that business is catering to our students and i know right now we just have the one you're if you're for profit it's this is the rate right right we don't have any differentiation between an adult oriented and a youth oriented yeah um you know but it is if i would agree it would be helpful if maybe there's potential for for another lens to potentially look look at that those through my view and i
013think this is similar to what you might be saying is i view that as is really a feeder program to a lot of eventual varsity or senior high activities and we need to make sure that accessibility is key so you would look at maybe doing like an adult for-profit fee and then a slightly less youth for profit because either way we would we would be paying sales tax for that rather they are youth oriented or not so it's yeah i wasn't talking about the sales tax but maybe it's you know if they're for-profit but it's for our youth it's a 50 discount or something but i just wanted to bring that up to see if that was something to consider i'd agree again if this is the only way that youth can enter into those
014areas or those arenas is through those relay on those for profit i just want to make sure that they're still able to do so that there's no limitations or a few limitations along that path yeah i don't know what what the wording would be like but something to consider and i think the intent and the fee schedule too was really looking at not having there's not profit being made on the fees these are really fees to cover expense yeah so i think that's the other thing to be prepared of is if if we discount and it doesn't cover the expense and that's coming from the general fund to fund that outside event so i think that's the balance i think that's what ann marie was charged with with looking at when you have yeah i
015think service overall i think this is this is excellent i it's just that one little category i wondered if did you say 15 or well or some percent maybe it's 30 we have a 20 and a 25 maybe it's a thirty percent discount but i don't know that it should be more than a non-profit discount that would be the only thing i would say or the other way around i guess it should be that yeah yeah okay i'm pretty good at math because if i heard you right right sales tax is being broken out and charged separately as a line item right yep so now now you can levelize the playing field on the fee structure and to heidi's point though i mean if we're charging more for a commercial outside the district entity for
016adults i mean if we're charging more than we're actually making more than we would be to cover our costs in that case because if it was a non-profit that came in right so i guess i kind of fought where charles and tom are i think that we need to we need to look at one more tier in there for that for that for-profit entities specifically local ones that are doing things with our kids [Music] yeah i'm i'm great with that and i think this is going to be a very dynamic documentary because right now we don't really know you did the best you could as far as breaking even but we don't know if this is this is going to help us break even or not and so we might have to raise or lower
017prices based on in the coming year and when we were looking at this two we were comparing to like the rife center and um different some other places they're they're probably the most comparable as far as um how they have their prices too so i was very impressed when i read through this and all the detail that yeah it's really good work yeah well done thank you um and then i i'll go over the so is that something you guys want to see again do you think or something we can take maybe into a committee work that we can look at you can just report on what you changed okay um briefly but i i don't think this needs to come to the board every time you make a change yeah i i don't i
018think i guess from where i said is this the sooner they're better with with the particular group that tom was playing so however that works if you need to bring it before us i'm fine with that if we want to say like bruce said i'm fine with that too just as long as the impact on the youth is lessened so if we wanted to say like a 10 or 15 percent discount off of adult versus youth for-profit business coming in um because we can't control how much profit they're making either you know they could be working with youth and still making a significant profit but i you know i don't ask for that information so i wouldn't want someone coming in and being able to make a lot of money off our facility and it
019might be nice to be able to show that they make a case that a bulk of the participating students are from our district i just think about people that might want to split hair say you bring a production in that's four right well that's still a for-profit theater company you know what i mean yeah i think the participants should be when we had that question with our other facility use schedule well it's for kids can come to an event yeah you know so then i was like well i think we need to say it has to primarily serve children yeah you're serving children's theater coming in and you know what i'm writing right i understand i appreciate tommen yeah charles's point that it's our isd 181 students participating that's different than um yeah we maybe
020could try to think of a way for them to to do some sort of report for us if they're having an event and if they can some show something and to your point emery i think you know if we're providing some sort of discount we still want to break even right if it's a commercial operation and they're making profit it feels a little wonky that we would be subsidizing that for sure but yeah we definitely want to you know see our students come in and use the facilities right right yeah i have no problem with you guys going back and taking a look at that i guess procedurally i'm curious if that impacts action item number 12 which is the approval of a fee schedule [Applause] that's the same schedule i think we're looking at
021and whether and i think it was added to that part of the agenda in case you decide you actually want to take action on it tonight so we can table that if we need to okay that's what i was asking thank you so then do you want me to bring it back one more time with some ideas on how we can incorporate the youth aspect do you think or my own take is that we probably don't need to it but i would you know if we have um some of these entities that are known users of the facility or will be known users um i would maybe you know ask that you guys get a little feedback from them before you publish just to make sure not that we have to have their permission but
022i think it would be nice to get a feel for it so that we don't get the same cycle we had last time which is the fee structure gets published we get a bunch of emails then we send you back to the drawing board it seems to me if we can cut one piece out of that loop that would be nice i suspect emails might still come and i a question i neglected to ask so i apologize i think sometimes when you're talking about numbers and increases it's easy what are we talking actually you know what because i know i think we raise the fees and then those folks aren't in a tier do you know what i mean so what's the true cost is is this costing said group 300 more or a thousand
023dollars more you know what i mean or five thousand dollars more i think context matters to this too and i i apologize that i didn't ask that question that's okay because you can look at the actually the other um fee schedule has crossed out and read the former you know get to zebra center for the arts so it went anywhere and from dollars for a tier one less than four hours up to fifteen hundred dollars for a tier um four okay so that 1500 turned into 1800 right and then okay so but we didn't have any with this there was no it was no matter what your event was it could have been a simple little event or it could have been one of the issues we ran into too was events lasting not just
024longer than eight hours but 12 hours or more and you know because they're loading in and doing some photos or different things early in the day and then it's after midnight when when it's all wrapped up we had we have we had two now we have one staff person so that gets to be long days and um we want to make sure we're so that that this new address is that as well where we're taking any extra hours over a typical like eight hour work day and adding additional fees to that so because previously i just said more than eight hours so that could have been i mean there was no limit on the upper level of it either so so i think i'm hearing that we are all positive with this and we'll look
025at some kind of a discount for that for-profit events that deserve youth argue yeah yeah and i think if if i if we look at that we might want to make a few other adjustments then but i also want to make sure we're kind of across the board so any any group serving youth and maybe we can kind of come up with a way to save which youth are you serving not necessarily just putting on a performance but they are actually participating somehow in the event um so even if it's not people who've used it before just because i don't want to have to say certain groups you know just need to make it and then we pull this out of the policy so it doesn't just keep coming back here so i think we
026don't want it to keep coming back right but you may want to after a month or two just give us an update on how it's going and okay like a quick you know we didn't incorporate what you asked and that kind of stuff so that sounds good and then i was just going to bring this one up this this is still definitely a work in progress too i think there's other adjustments that need to be made um i need to work closer with buildings and grounds to kind of make sure we're covering um our costs here but i for now just took out um both the studio stage which is the black box theater and the gitches ebay as they're both addressed on this other fee schedule and then there was just a couple little
027changes i believe this was an error before this facility um on tennis courts that used to say court per hour rather than facility which made it very very expensive for anyone who wanted to come in and do a tournament or anything like that and then i also added the applica applicable sales tax to this as well so that we will be charging that as a separate line item for anyone who comes in to our rest of our facilities as well so question yep don't see the pool complex in here do we ever get any inquiries about yes rental of that and given that we have the new aquatic center i mean where are we at with that we need to uh work on that we've got a old aquatic center um handbook that we phoned
028from several years ago that was in a draft form i believe and never approved so it's being reviewed it is being reviewed thank you so much and lifeguard staffing isn't a typical staffing so trying to figure out so it'd be kind of a specialized space like some of these other um right now it's actually under specialized base it just says pool with climbing wall gymnastics gym planetarium because we did have people using the pool occasionally you know previous to having the new aquatic center but we have to hire district staff and they have to be available to to rent any of those spaces under specialized spaces so yeah and the pool seems like it would be more expensive than uh yeah i think we'll have to pull it out of there and have its own
029maybe it'll get uh if we've never had queries i guess i'm not deeply concerned about it but it seems like there's no other facility right like that anywhere around so it may spur any number of inquiries that we wouldn't have foreseen yeah i'm hoping it's well used so if you build it they will come i know the kids are really excited to be in it okay any other questions for anne marie you gotta go ahead okay great thank you very much good job now we don't have to do an action okay next up we have discussion on middle school participation and non-contitu continuation participation agreements correct and jack freeman and josh vordes are busy running a parent meetings this evening so that's why they are not here with us so we have developed as we
030learned we needed to have activity agreements in place which we did not so we've been running with cooperative agreements so just to give you a reason of why we had to go this route and we were starting to flag things that were concerned where students would be considered ineligible to participate which then would also impact the team's eligibility for participation without having these agreements in place home school is a separate so homeschool students have always been eligible to continue to be eligible as long as they meet the statutory definition of a homeschool student so really the why behind this is pertaining to our middle school students so high school activities technically can be 7 through 12. so we've started to have we've had an open door policy for all middle school activities and haven't done
031a very good job of tracking where those students are coming from and then from our coaches being able to monitor that if they accelerate a student up there are some sports that are more common to accelerate a student into that high school sponsored level that we did not necessarily have the agreement to cover their eligibility and put them at risk questions continue to grow as we have more numbers of options and questions are asked from our parents and surrounding schools is a student eligible to participate in those activities so really started looking at that jack freeman being new in his role and myself being new in my role we've gotten lots of new information and i think jack is now best friends with the director in charge of eligibility at the minnesota state high school
032league and he's actually getting lots of questions from around the state um in the past we just have had real informal agreements uh previously with the look at two there's been two really long established schools that we've supported and and had involved and we just have kind of let things go so there's lots of responsibility on our end to clean those things up and make sure we're protecting our students schools outside schools from brainerd need to come to brainerd public schools to make that request and so that's why we've developed and worked with minnesota state high school league and legal council to develop participation agreements specifically to middle school which has been where we've been in question the what so there's three main types of agreements a cooperative agreement which most people are familiar with
033we have to have those in place when it comes to high school level high school level again can take 7th to 12th grade students however we really see high school forming at 9th through 12th grade 9th grade is where students high school eligibility begins so we've already had those in place we've been following those there are no changes to our cooperative agreements that are in place and cooperative agreements typically get developed between a partner school that has a high school where it's beneficial to both brainerd public schools and that partnering school the two new agreements that we've put in front of you are the first ones called a non-continuation participation agreement and this is really for schools that do not have a continuation high school so first example a k-8 non-public school but those are
034where we want to have that in place where they have some students in that seventh or eighth grade range who may get accelerated up so by having a non-participation agreement in place at no time is that student or the team that the student is participating on at risk so for example jack gave me a great example we accelerate a tennis student that students pulled up into a varsity match and all sudden the team counters and says hey that student's from one of your non-public schools i'm questioning their eligibility high school league would call and say typically they'll call activities director and say hey we took a phone call there's questions about the eligibility of the student participating from the non-public do you have a participation agreement in place we can answer that we can provide
035that proof that ensures the students and the team's eligibility so that's one of the main ones we're looking at accelerating students otherwise the third agreement is just a middle school participation agreement so by having that in place middle school students can participate but they cannot be accelerated into that high school league activity but we need to have that in place for their participation so we have those two templates in front of you i've spoken and met with the administrators from the surrounding districts who've inquired so they're very familiar with the differences and why these are happening and what's happening and are looking forward to being able to review and move forward with those agreements so again the two before you the non-continuation participation agreement and a middle school participation agreement how this process works is
036once you approve that template then the activities director and administration so typically this is going to be at the middle school in high school they're going to work together to work collectively because the school making the request can choose what agreement they feel best fits their needs for their middle school students and then we'll review those we'll get those in place the school board clerk will sign off on that agreement to make sure that it's gone with the board review and then we'll have that agreement filed in the activities office for any minnesota state high school league inquiries and we'll review these agreements annually this way we're going to ensure that we're continually looking at rosters jack freeman our activities director has been working directly with coaches so they're more cognizant as they're working with
037their different athletes from different schools we'll also be having a different way through the registration process of asking where the student is coming from and participating from so that would be our process moving forward any questions is the definition of home school five or less yes according to minnesota statute so what happens if a family has six or seven children they're from the same family so it's when you do more of a homeschool consortium where you have multiple students coming under one roof for instruction so okay there's no issue then if they they they would qualify as home school yeah we've had families i mean this is an area too where we've had families of seven eleven okay um and that's never been an issue it's really when it starts to become a consortium yeah
038but i mean i when this all came up i read the statute and the statute is vague it doesn't specify that right so in reality it isn't this body's job to fix that it's in st paul they need to fix the statute so that it specifically states that kids of the same family are all eligible but we're operating under the assumption that that's true okay so that's how we would operate that's how we operate and again these have been questions we posed right direct to the minnesota state high school league and they said we've interpreted that 100 correct but just looking at past rosters we have had large families who are homeschooled and they've participated all along so it hasn't been an issue there okay good thank you you're welcome thanks for cleaning this up
039too yep so um and i can tell you too as we have different there's different options all around the state and actually around the country which will continue to have us ask eligibility questions as parents and families come forward well it's an important exercise beyond this right if we think back to when we approved the resource office or the school resource officer contracts with both the cities of baxter and brainerd right just for the community's benefit we had what i would consider to be an intact and legible agreement in place with the city of baxter we did not with brainerd it was like written on a cocktail napkin um now that's since been remedied because we redid the contract with our attorney and their attorney we got it all sorted out and i'm sure we'll
040find more and more of this stuff where we have to go through we have to clean all this stuff up and again it's important to note that this is procedural but it's really important to protect the students the staff community members and the district itself absolutely absolutely one other question that i've heard and this is probably taken care of in here but if somebody is being homeschooled through but they're taking online school at home and they're considering that part of their home schooling how does that work so homeschool a homeschool student is identified as any student being homeschooled registered with the district and living within our homeschool boundary now again this is where as more school of choice options become available that's why it's very important that we're having communication with a high school league
041because some depending on how they register who they're taking their instruction from there are some home school registrations where whatever entity they're with they actually are considered a public school or they're issuing credits and they're issuing diplomas that's why we will always go back and double check if it comes into question and it's we just took one today that come you know these connections academies that are popping up across the country when we have something new we always go back and ask so we can make sure we're ensuring the eligibility of our students and get the answer to that question that family right away yeah which makes sense so if they're just using an online curriculum so to speak and not necessarily through an online school district that's a very different thing thank you for
042clarifying that yeah it's really really good work we've learned a lot jack like jack freeman's done amazing work so very grateful to jack but hopefully those if you have any questions but we'd like to get the templates for those agreements approved middle school activity registration starts august 31st um so i know we have some some directors that are anxious to to be able to have that in place and move forward and that's what we have printed out here and it's an action item later in here okay any other questions one last one the templates that we have the review process obviously staff minnesota state high school league and our legal council legal counsel still we made a few adjustments based on some feedback from the minnesota state high school league director in charge of eligibility
043they were a minor but i still need to get confirmation from our legal counsel basically from the high school league as a district you have the right to to put in place what you'd like in a participation agreement we wanted to make sure all we had in there was what do we do to ensure eligibility students but we'll get that final stamp from attorney edison too but he's been involved in the whole process since we started since we learned of our non-compliance conditions okay thank you thank you next up we have recognitions and we're going to take these in a little different order i'm going to turn it over to superintendent han to talk about the distinguished hall of fame and to do an introduction wonderful so super exciting news we have identified the 2022
044distinguished achievement hall of fame inductees and we are proud to announce that raymond frisch a 1948 burning high school graduate is being honored for his service in education we have stephen johnson a 1987 brainerd high school graduate for his service in law and we have robert knights nystrom a 1975 brainerd high school graduate first public service so the distinguished hall of fame achievement committee has been hard at work we'll get ready to honor those inductees as we approach homecoming this fall and our school year but each of the each of the inductees have been notified and their families have been notified so lots of exciting times coming and then my second recognition is i'm going to ask christina lundgren to come forward and introduce herself so and we have a new director of instructional technology
045so as you're aware of sarah porish uh resigned and we've been looking at how to replace the work that she's done and so we have two sides of that so christina is coming from the instructional technology all right so hello i'm christina lundgren and um just for a quick introduction i'm a kind of a lifetime warrior i graduated from brainerd high school and i taught at brainerd high school for since 2000 2000 as a chemistry teacher and then the last three years i moved into the technology integrationist and online school coordinator at the high school and i'm now excited to move into the instructional technology position so thank you for the opportunity yeah we're really excited to have christina congratulations [Applause] okay and then finally kind of some sad news but that we all know
046about it is our director jenna sjogren is leaving us after this meeting she will be leaving us and later in the meeting we'll talk about how what we're going to do about that but um maybe we won't let you leave i wish family would be anyway but you've been an integral part of this board for the last almost two years and um you will be missed and we're happy for you as far as your new home um i've brought in the flowers and i'll know it so um but we're gonna miss you and we're sad it could have worked out that you could have stayed and had a new home i know i'm sad too thank you and we do have cupcakes oh yeah so we'll celebrate at the end with some cupcakes those of
047you who are with us you can join us for a cupcake and um share and thank director sjogren for his service as well yeah thank you charles i've got to wait [Laughter] sprinkles so that ends our recognitions maybe we should all give janna [Applause] i heard she's hosting the christmas party though okay next up we have public input and i just have one okay um and doug kearn would like to speak boy bob nystrom 1975. anyway um uh last for a week ago friday i attended the grand rapids they had the professional educators licensing standard board each of these board members was approved and appointed by governor walls and they're putting the finishing touches on the new teacher licensing requirements the new standard uh basically we teach our children at home our values these standards
048they'll be they basically have basic marxist principles and practices such as critical race theory fluid sexual identity and gender policies politics in all minnesota schools the standards that they they had looking at the curriculum that they want teachers to push you know you talk about people wanting to leave the public schools this is this is going to be a big thing uh the standard markets practices uh divide people into opposing groups so that students and teachers must view themselves not as individuals but as members of groups oppressor groups are oppressed when formally adopted the new requirements must become must be met to become or remain a licensed teacher in minnesota including early childhood the concern that i have is if these were adults or college students or even even high school students they would be
049able to think for themselves little kids don't have that ability they don't have the the life experience that adults do and when you push these standards force teachers to push these standards um it's going to cause a big ripple effect throughout the the community throughout the state so uh you know the um non-public schools generally hire licensed teachers so this will affect non-public schools as well because every teacher has to get that license uh some of the things that they have that they incorporate is they have to affirm and incorporate identica identity politics in the school including race gender gender identity sexual orientation religious beliefs economic status and ethnicity that's hard to say um when i look at this here all the stuff that they were presenting it was about a four-hour long meeting and
050the public input they're gonna have another meeting on the 24th and i would encourage everybody to go and listen in on the public the teaching standards that they're presenting and just go and listen to it uh when you look at the material that they're having like i say as we teach our kids our values at home we don't need them the school to be teaching and indoctrinating our children we just we don't need that so um anyway with that uh 24th august 24th they have another meeting for public input so thank you thank you thank you doug and that is all we have for public input today um so the next step is approval of the regular school board meeting minutes from july 11th one second we have first from director hagel and the second
051from director black glance any further discussion hearing none all in favor say aye aye those opposed same side motion carried and next up we have the consent calendar move to approve a second okay first from director haglin a second from director security discussion hearing none all in favor say aye aye aye aye close opposed same sign motion carried and now we're on to new business and we have damien here tonight you're out by yourself all by myself okay told mark you'd have the night off so um so first before i talk about the the items we have up here for approval um give you a quick update on the projects on at the brainerd high school north a-wing is coming along very nicely today we did get approval to pad out the acoustic ceilings on
052second floor uh we're working on flooring and finishes so that's going very well downstairs we are wrapping up a couple of mechanical items in the ceilings and then next week we'll be working on pad out and flooring so we're actually seeing a very very good spot for considering all of the little things that have happened with you know material issues and and plan review issues that we've come across a-wing is looking very very very well it must look very different from when we toured it last month it changes every day so that it's been it's been great a couple things we still are still waiting for our terrazzo so we'll be doing some trials work in the fall and then our lockers will be coming in october so those things still exist we did get
053our wood doors we were actually working on temporary doors for start of school and doors are supposed to be coming this week so high-tech did a great job of working with the northern door and hardware the doors flyer to get that moved up so again you just don't know what's coming so it's just there's been a lot of moving parts and pieces but um so yeah any questions on unburned high school we are starting to do paving work next week and start sequencing through starting at south campus working down 5th street and then the new parking lots were the previous lincoln education center was uh we'll be we'll be completed last so i think we're wrapping the schedule takes us through the third week of september on that last big parking lot but uh by
054early october we're gonna have all new parking lots too so which would be great brand learning center is coming together nicely working on finishes again we uh we're working on wood doors we have getting ready to pad out getting work on flooring case work and painting is completed again set up very nicely for for start of school so okay that's all i got for projects um as far as the items we have up right now we have two item two action items uh in your board booklet you'll have you'll find an added scope worksheet and then an ics fee study the added scope worksheet kind of details out uh we've been working closely with the building administrator our district administration and also the project oversight team uh identifying looking at all 13 projects making sure
055that everything's falling in line we found that some projects early on we didn't do as great a job as we did you know on the last on later projects we weren't managing them as tightly as we should have been so uh that's where some of that comes from but uh um it talks about timeline includes kind of the breakout of where the on the three projects that we're looking for the additional dollars for the added scope um and it also talks about the months where reimbursables that's about where the added timeline was on on on the different projects on the reimbursable section of it we did have uh we did all of the reimbursable months or the months of construction pre-referendum so before actually all the scopes got truly identified so um so some of
056the some of those time frames and then throwing in some of the cove things that we've experienced and what not to as well and added scope you know kind of add that complexity or add that time those timelines to the projects we did isis did make a commitment to the brand high school project and south campus project to supply no charge to the district an additional superintendent and an additional project engineer to over to oversee those projects to help ensure success that was something that we just thought we needed to do to make sure because those were such big projects and obviously you've seen the complexity as we've put them together so um do you have any questions on those documents so yeah i just want to say the project oversight team has seen these
057several times and and seen them and worked with ics to adjust and ask questions and stuff so this isn't something that started as the says in april of this year yeah we're just going to kind of make that similar comment that uh this has been going on for a few months and kind of got things dialed in and in my mind the uh the fees make sense because of the increased scope of work that's been taking place in front of contract the reimbursables also fall in line after three or four months of kind of dialing this in you know we had lots of good discussions on this yeah enrique's been you know working very closely with myself and dave bergeron as we were working through that as well so um and heidi of course here
058in the last couple weeks but yeah absolutely okay thank you so so we have these broken down into the management fees under the first um action item and then the reimbursables under the second action item i'll make a motion to approve the additional ics program management fees for the added project scopes at nisswa lowell and the warrior early learning center in the amount of 416 as presented a second okay so we have our first room director spear a second from director boyles i need further discussion hearing none all in favor say aye aye those opposed same sign motion carries and i'll move to approve the additional ics and reimbursable sorry the screen jump keys for the site services for the added project scope at garfield elementary brainerd high school riverside elementary in the amount of
059414 575 dollars as presented second so the first term director boyle's a second from director hagel and any further discussion hearing none all in favor say aye all right blows post same sign washington carries thank you quick question janet when i scroll is that changing yours up and down too oh okay [Laughter] well i'm glad it happened to you as well because i started jumping well i've never had a live document do that yet but i mean i did that that's why we have paid [Laughter] should make all the rest of the motions since their last movie okay next up we have approval of the middle school participate participation and non-continuation participation agreements as presented previously by superintendent hunt i'll move to approve a second first from director hagelin a second from director shogura any
060further discussion on that just caveat we're waiting to hear back from legal counsel so there might just yeah i know minimal chance that there could be a tweak to it but i don't write really it's the high school league guidelines and rules so something got tweaked it would it would have to come back here but otherwise we're good to go we should be very good okay okay okay okay um all in favor say aye aye aye feels like we should play music okay next up we have approve the presented timeline and process to replace school board member janice shobrin talk about another learning experience so here's what we've learned so let me pull this up um so we have been uh having lots of conversations with the minnesota school board associations to make sure we're
061aligning with uh statutory requirements what's very unique is we're looking at an appointment in the middle of a an election process right so our candidacy candidates could start falling filing august 2nd so director shogun's official term ends on september 2nd which we're really sad about that so what happens is this is considered a special election seat because it's a two-year seat just like director spears um she replaced vacated seat director nyson's director nystrom's seat so technically that seat is also considered a special special election seat so when we look at timelines this is what's happening the time between the start of the vacancy and the special election process if it's greater than 60 days or two school board meetings the school board needs to appoint someone to fill the seat so if we go back
062and reflect on what we did one director nystrom left you took applications you interviewed once that process was done that member immediately joined the board which was director spear this is where the twists and turns come in because we're in the middle of an election cycle currently in our election process there's actually a special election that's running so we have two special election two-year terms and we have three four-year terms that are open and on the ballot due to the current election um anybody that's interested in serving on the school board right now is filing for candidacy which typically when we have a vacated seat isn't happening because we're not in the midst of that so msba does recommend that due to the current open election process that the board does not appoint a candidate
063that has filed for candidacy to avoid any conflict of interest or any perceived bias which makes sense when you see really what you're appointing so let's talk about timeline so you have two options for how you're going to fill director shorken's vacated seat you can follow your previous process you can accept applications you can interview and then appoint due to the current election process there's some concerns like we've talked about so in speaking with msba they recommend that you look at appointing somebody that's not running for school board and their recommendation is really is there somebody who's previously served on the board that understands the role the board process and here's why this comes into play and you can and discuss what you'd like to do really the timeline is in this august meeting you
064have to decide what process you want to do to appoint so i've listed two options above september you can appoint that person and then you enter into a 30-day waiting period of course this is all in lines with the guidance and the statutes we need to follow the october board meeting is prior to the 30-day waiting period ending when you look at the calendar in the timeline so that seat will be vacant in october in november your appointee will serve right so whoever you appoint will then come in however in december because of the special election process of the two two-year seats those newly elected board members will come onto the board in december just like director spear came on in the absence of or the resignation of director nystroms so you are really going
065through this process to appoint someone for one board meeting which would be the november school board meeting so that was a lot at once so if i need to go back and review the process but that's all the twists and turns and what makes it incredibly unique is you're in the midst of filing candidates filing and an election process that will be moving forward hi diana i had a question as i was thinking about this don't we potentially then in the december meeting potentially where we would end up with seven board members then no because what's going to happen is once the election is done so director speer has filed for a four-year seat so really what's happening is her seat is up for a special election right now okay so so you would miss
066one i would not be here okay so she will be exited off and the new member will come on for director spear and director shogren who's technically director nystrom and director shogun and so we made sure we called debbie erickson that's where i really will be here thank you i really appreciate that janet nothing like testing the new superintendent right like how well does we read and follow rules um i appreciated janet and her history and her not retiring or resigning um just so we have that practice so speaking of debbie erickson we have insured on the ballot so when people see the ballot they're going to see a special election which are those two two-year seats and then they're going to see the general election which are the three four-year seats so yes so
067come december we'll have two new board members that have been elected through the special election process however through your appointee process and the 30-day timeline and waiting period you're appointing somebody for one meeting which is the meeting of november so really you can accept applications interview point okay fine i'll sign up for option two you have that's your action item to vote um then in september then what would happen is you'd have to bring that appointee forward and we start the 30-day waiting period so that gives you time to have conversation and to look at potentially a previous board member who would like to step up for one board meeting so i'm thinking maybe two of us should be responsible for bringing a board member because we can't really do this we either or we
068can talk about it now we would like to select for a board member or we can select a couple of we can do that in september september so right now you have to determine what process you're going to do okay it's publicly known the process that you're adopting so those were the two options you can ask people to apply okay so then in september you would talk we will i want to have some ideas and then discuss who you'll appoint okay and then the 30-day waiting period starts okay well i would move that we move forward with um if it was presented as option two that we appoint a previous board director in our september meeting i'll second that further discussion and perhaps between now and then that our chair nelson reaches out to a
069previous board member our previous board members are interested okay yeah it would be good to know if they're interested or not well then by virtue of waiting until september to bring that forward we have the candidacy period for filing for school board ends a week from tomorrow correct so then we'll know what that landscape looks like are you worried about tying your hands at all by stating a previous board member what if you reach out and we'll figure it out okay i just wanted to make sure if that wording you know saying previous board members not available to serve in november do you want to say that you'll appoint somebody we might move you back just for a week the recommendation from msba when they read through all of this is really what the active
070process you have going on right now anyone who's interested in school board can file and they have that open period so really there's a lot of training and understand that goes along so the recommendation is if you have a previous board member who's not running who would be willing that's probably your your best recommendation for one need because that's just coming from the minnesota school boards association so it makes sense you can rent them from sarah wait so we have a first from director hagel and the second from director of oils further discussion you're not all in favor say aye aye those post same sign motion carries okay so with that and the now i gotta find the right sheet we are looking at with the exit of um director shogren we need to replace
071her position um as clerk janet did you still i hid my list it's i'm opening it up right now perfect so right now i'm the chair charles is the vice chair kevin boyles is the treasure so what seed is being vacated in the organizational structure is um the clerk okay so i always suggest we have director hagelin take that position are you willing director hang on i'm sure i could handle that sure i i then i'd make a motion that director headline would serve as clerk from here out i'd second then we have a first from director shogun a second from driver's sphere any further discussion hearing none all in favor say aye aye those opposed same sign motion carries and then we still now school board representatives so we talked to the this the
072areas where janet is serving and the recommendation there are three areas um the brainerd public schools foundation was one she's the board representative there that they just had their bird retreat they felt that they would they could wait until the review board members are in the reorganization comes on in january and that was also consistent with the ieic which is the interagency early childhood intervention committee and then the third one was the equity advisory task force and there's already two board members on there so the recommendation from school board representatives was really waiting until new board members come on and then you could look at because more than likely in december when you have two new board members we're gonna have to do some restructuring then and then we'll have to do that again at
073the reorganizational meeting in january so hopefully you can just wait until the reorganizational meeting that was a recommendation for the three spots in the board representatives because those committees have already met and their work is moving forward okay perfect so no action on that if everyone's in agreement okay approval of the security officer service agreement with general security solution security services corporation has presented marcy lord good evening so in your packet is the agreement it is a one-year agreement that's how it always is it's for two officers um it is a rate increase of about 3.9 percent so um it is higher than the two percent however they did want a market adjustment last year that was higher and we negotiated it down so what we ended up settling on was a two percent on
074what they had proposed last year which is where we came at with the 3.9 otherwise everything else is the same and this contract is paid for with the safe schools funds any questions i'll make a motion to approve the agreement with general security services corporation a second okay we go first from director speer second from director boyles to approve the security officer's service agreement any further discussion or questions okay none all in favor say aye hi those are polis same sign motion carries thank you and next alyssa thompson will be up here to talk about meal prices for the next school year good evening all right so we it's been a couple years since we had to do meal pricing um we are going back to paid meals and we have a little bit of
075an update on why we are going to keep that the same in 2019 our paid meals were a dollar 75 for breakfast 275 for elementary lunch secondary was 1.75 for breakfast 2.85 for lunch and then kindergarten students are going to continue to receive free free breakfast due to a grant and then 275 for lunch for kindergarten students so this is a little bit late and i apologize normally we do this in july but we were waiting for um the rates the federal rates to come out for reimbursement so we did pass in late june the keep fi keep kids fed act passed on june 27th that gives lunch an additional 40 cents to each lunch and gives breakfast an additional 15 cents so state reimbursement came out today we're looking at a dollar five for
076a paid lunch for reimbursement for breakfast 267 for free and reduced breakfast 1.85 kindergarten breakfast for lunch we're looking at 99 cents per paid meal 455 for free reduced and just as a reference in 2019 prior to the start of pandemic meals we were receiving 53 cents for a paid lunch and 362 for a free and reduced lunch so it's quite a big increase in reimbursement from the state and federal level i'm estimating if our participation goes back to prior to the pandemic an additional three hundred thousand dollars in reimbursement this year for lunch and an additional eighty thousand dollars for breakfast so that with uh an additional stockpile of food due to a late warehouse delivery for commodities i feel like we are okay to keep the prices the same for families i was
077very cognizant of inflation to families and that we're going back to paid meals and so i don't want that impact to be on the families while maintaining a budget in the food service department and i'm confident that we won't exceed our food budget this year with that additional reimbursement wonderful news at the federal level that was a that was an actual congressional act yes that was all state the state we normally get regular reimbursement rates and so that was a regular rate they for whatever reason came out late with that and i just received it actually today so i was running with federal reimbursement with that additional 40 cents coming to you today and i just today got that state additional state reimbursement to give you those those and of course for the last two
078years we've had pretty deep concerns about the lack of paperwork right being filled out by people that were ordinarily pre-covered eligible for free and reduced but you're saying this mitigates all of that yeah so this is a a different issue but i do have some good news on that front minnesota's a pilot school to include medical assistance on the frame reduced app that gets directly certified through the state so as an example normally we get about a thousand students that are directly certified in late june july that come in and go right into our system is free and reduced for the year this year we had 2100 go through in july which is a significant change and it it is less of an administrative burden on the food service department to have to sort of
079recollect those applications later in the school year normally we don't see 2100 applications for free and reduced until about late november so we are ahead of the game because of that pilot program through the state and so it's really exciting okay you're always bringing good news come to every meeting any other questions about school oh i will say i forgot to mention this we did have a federal minimum increase for adult meals so there is an an additional increase for adult meals i breakfast is 285 and lunch is now five dollars the minimum for lunch was 4.95 i rounded it up to just an even five dollars so we still using local farmers when we can yes so we are still part of that sprout which is that local hub then also with our primary
080distributors so like bicks and upper lakes we do also get locally grown apples and other things through those two companies as well good good thank you do you have a motion to approve the food meal prices so moved second first from director strogan the second from director of blackline further discussion once again thank you for all that that's complicated work you have to do to figure that all out he loves it okay thank you uh hearing no other discussion all in favor say aye aye those opposed same sign motion carries and next we have the pseo agreement with central lakes college so in your packet is uh the agreement and it is a 3.3 increase from last year last year was 243 per college credit um this does end up being a large chunk of
081our budget which is why it's uh in for your guys's approval um talking with the college this is just their standard rate increase that they are projecting in order to cover their costs nothing else has really changed in this agreement it's a year to year agreement and i did run some calculations because there's two options with pseo we could do this or we could have it where the students are claimed and the the college is paid directly by the state and that's a different rate however when we run if we claim the adms and then pay this rate we actually come out ahead compared to the other option so it is a little bit more um burdensome on our mars coordinator but it does have a increase in revenue for us because of that so
082yeah we changed it that way five years ago or something was it it's been a while since we've had this in place prior to me yeah how long have you been here now oh four years in this role i remember when we did this you probably remember too you do good work okay i'll move to approve the pseo agreement as presented okay we have our first director hagelin a second from director boyle's further discussion all of this thing okay so director black lines will abstain okay all in favor say aye aye aye those are opposed same sign and with one abstention the motion carries five to nothing thank you next we have to talk about our school board meetings where we're going to move to [Music] in two months is it correct so we'll have
083the september meeting here and actually um it's going to all depend there's a big meeting happening on wednesday with reid and really looking at the contractors and timelines so there might be a chance to squeak one more out here in october before we have to move but really what we're looking at is having a facility that will be able to have the technology to live stream and record and then be consistent so one of the recommendations we've looked at once a construction project mooz is looking at the large conference room at brainerd high school so we have ample enough seating and again that technology piece so really we need a motion to state that we're going to be moving the board meetings because of construction effective for the october meeting but like i said we
084might squeak it out and the projected completion timeline is august of 2023 so we'll be vacating this facility do we not want to put a date on just that we'll move when necessary that's what i'd recommend okay right now we're anticipating it could be that october 10th meeting depending on when they start um wednesday should give us we were hoping we'd have the answer now but we don't but the orange conference room is a little bit smaller than this room isn't it or is it about it one right across the office principal rusk i'm looking at you comparable size of the larger conference room at bhs to this room i would say it's about two-thirds of the size maybe yeah it seems more open compared to this room's like the v this is narrow a
085little bit a little wider in the absence of doing it at tom's house um i moved that we approved changing the location of the school board meetings effective at the date deemed necessary by construction okay one second but first from director boyle's with some comedy added he's quite comedic tonight and a second from director hey any further discussion hearing none all in favor say aye aye aye those opposed save sign and we'll make sure they're published well ahead of time yeah that's where we anticipate location and the next we have angie bennett to talk about the 2022 2024 compensation and benefits handbook this should be pretty quick so we kind of went through the whole technology and specialist handbook i don't know if that was last month or the month before but really trying to
086look at kind of putting like groups together and creating a more comprehensive compensation benefit summary basically for them than a one page sheet so this was the next three kind of in line so we have community education and this group mostly it involves in this handbook is the child care workers and pre-k plus leads and those types of positions and they have a little bit different benefits i guess structure than some of our regular full-time employees because a lot of them have variable hours and very part time so you'll see kind of that outlined in there and then there is a kind of a salary scale on the back and kind of how they progress through steps coordinators in department support so again this includes the majority of people who have the coordinator title and
087then department support so people who are supporting another administrator at the district office or district-wide position includes our indigenous student liaison and coordinator as well and kind of putting them in that same type of alignment with benefits and then really did another market survey and created a step system for them as well so they can kind of have predictable compensation benefit behavior management specialist is another one that was continued to be just kind of a one-off sheet historically they've had just one pay rate and if there was an increase we increased it across the board regardless of years of service i've since created a pay scale so it will be based on education experience they can get placed at higher up to step three and then they can progress up in steps that is one
088position that is right at the top of a market so we're really kind of trying to hold that top hourly rate we're not taking away pay from anybody with this change but people coming in may not go you know right to that stop that top of the line but then benefits kind of creating a system across the board so everybody is similar any questions about any of that thanks for all your work on these handbooks yep i'm sure the employees appreciate it i think i think it helps they can get more information and then consistency is always good i'll make a motion to approve the 2022 through 24 compensation and benefit handbooks that you presented it's a mouthful [Laughter] a second okay first from director spear a second from director shogun any further discussion hearing
089none all in favor say aye aye those opposed same sign motion carries thank you thank you thank you next up the second and final reading of revised msba policy 608. dr candice berghardt is here good evening i am here for that second and final reading of policy 608 there have not been any questions that i've received or any other language changes that i'm aware of um so i'll present that back to you okay yeah this was a pretty short [Laughter] i'll move to approve the second and final reading of revives msba policy 608 second we have a first from director haglan a second from director of oils any further discussion one quick question sorry on the three a we we have it we've spelled out services for disabled children and i think we were trying
090to these people first language oh sure yep one too yeah that's a great that's a great one that was simple yeah we'll send that back to msba too since that was there yeah their catch as well great okay so director haglin are you fine with it yeah with that addition edition and director boyles with your second okay um all in favor say aye aye aye those opposed same sign motion carries thank you thank you thank you and then our final action item is to approve the fee schedules for the gitches duty center which you heard about earlier oh that's right we were complaining you're right thank you potentially just i mean i'm happy to make it we talked about it that we weren't gonna we weren't gonna do a motion on it we're just leaving
091it right so we're never going to approve what was presented then right correct not tonight ever no they're going to bring it back well they're going to come back with what they change but it's not and then we're going to change or then prove it because i think there's a way of approving it tonight if we wanted to okay so we don't have to bring it back but giving yeah i i i was just thinking we weren't going to have to approve it at all because it's there they just brought it back up and presented and we gave feedback to it but oh it's not part of paul pogba right right yeah okay well what but if you feel more comfortable having us give an initial approval with you no i'm fine with it it's
092just that references policy 902's yeah but it's separate from nine o'clock yeah perfect the belief was it wouldn't be a future action would be a future update that they would come back with us with update us on what they did to incorporate our feedback okay okay so we're done with action items and we're on to informational um jenna your last brainerd public schools foundation report so the group got together and had a nice retreat at one of the board members homes and it was a great time to reflect on the past year and the accomplishments of our awesome school foundation you know the significant contributions from the big event and for scholarships and dream big and that sort of thing so it was really just a time to look forward to location and theme for
093next year's event which i don't know if i'm supposed to say yet so i'll let them do their big reveal when the time comes it just really hats off to a committed group of parents and community members who work hard on that committee to raise money on behalf of our students so yeah it's been a fun group to be a part of wonderful and you're new to a toe doctor han right i've been a part of the big event planning committee but now i'm an official ex official okay so i was told so i was very very familiar with their work but it was fun just to be part of listening and learning very passionate dedicated group of community members and business owners and parents was really fun yeah and director black clients equity task
094force update the uh then basically my my update is i guess uh acknowledging the next equity task force which will be 12 noon on august 16th that's right we had a big presentation last last month okay business services report back up to equity task force are we at a point where we can explain that we've added two community members to that group they have been notified and accepted correct dr burkhard yeah so maybe we should for the public's benefit um call out the i guess we added three people right we added some staff correct correct so do you want to identify members and go through we took applications and had actually a great response and have some expanding work from people who've applied yeah we um we had a really uh strong pool of applicants
095actually for the community members on the equity task force i believe we had total from the community and then we also looked to fill the middle school seat um director boyle superintendent han aaron karlgaard and myself helped review applicants using a rubric that we had developed and ultimately we chose um i'm really hoping i get their names correct john aga who is the president of united way and then michael erickson who is a longtime community member and had children that went through brainerd public schools and was a school psychologist for many years and is well connected to the american indian student population as well through his work as a school psychologist so very excited to have them on board as our our community members and then um for our middle school representative we chose uh
096alison van vlettevanvillet i'm i can never remember how to pronounce her last name but she's a collaborative service worker for us um who's from the standing rock reservation and uh i think we'll be a great asset as well that's awesome thanks candice yep i think i'm going to add the dr burkhart's report too based on the community members who are seeking we have some additional community members who want to get more involved with some facilitated community conversations and i know emails and communications were sent to them as well for follow-up so thank you all right so the it did say enrollment report but there is no enrollment report we'll have the first one for the school year next month which is exciting i can't believe we're already going to be rolling i did want to
097give a quick quick update on the baxter sro so they are having a compensation study done it was supposed to be done back in may but they're still waiting on the results which is why we don't have a contract for you it is expiring they have no concerns with providing service the start of school so hopefully if they have an answer by the next next board meeting i would have an agreement for you to present so they know what their rates would be through 2022 but they don't know what 2023 would bring and our contract is for 22-23 um and then also next month we'll have the proposed tax levy so that came up very fast okay okay thank you thank you thank you and superintendents report yes uh really want to just give a
098shout out to our amazing administrators and directors in the back of the room we had a busy busy week at the crow wing county fair i spent at least those of us on tuesday it was hot hot hot it was much cooler the other nights we went but just a great opportunity to connect with our community and just our kids are so excited um and our principals it's like you guys walk on water when the kids come through so it was really fun we gave out lots of buttons and pencils um we had stickers but found out we shouldn't give stickers so we followed that rule even though it seemed like everybody else was giving stickers but it's in the contract not to give stickers um so we have lots of stickers to do when
099we come back to school but a great time and i just was very appreciative that they gave up of evenings and recruited parents and pto members and all sorts to come with so it was a very fun uh fun event for us to get out there and as we can tell it's really starting to get our communication plan out and about so a place to belong brainerd public schools we sent out invitations we have lots and lots of tours going on um so much so it's getting busy we're recruiting more tour guides so that's very exciting and a good diverse we're tracking data from if it's community member if it's current parent or if it's an incoming potential family looking at the schools and they're pretty well spread out so also a huge shout out
100to our administrators because that's another layer that we've added um during what used to be their time to catch their breath in summertime but it's august so now they're back full time and working hard we've had some questions coming out about covid so at the plan we will continue with our just mass optional we're not going to require a mask one of the things we're waiting for the cdc seems to be adjusting their quarantine guidelines so one of the requirements from the state of minnesota is that we post a safe learning plan and so once we hear those quarantined guidelines we'll have that published and that's really in in case of a positive case or a positive test that comes through so we'll have that published and out to all of our families in community
101august 30th and then we will continue to disburse free rapid tests to any of our students and families that have them so we have those available at all of our schools once again so that's going to be the next work coming up otherwise it was a very busy month there's no rest here at the schools we're very very active with lots going on and it seems like school's starting because activities are starting and we just finished summer school and now we have activities going so very exciting time okay thank you thank you so everyone remember to stay for cupcakes we'll have cupcakes in other words just get the nap and um i think so you can look here for future meetings our next board meeting is september 2nd every september 12th and school board filing
