Um Before I call for a motion in a second to approve the consent agenda, are there any items to be highlighted, Mr. Dr. Kimple? Uh I don't have any to highlight. Items 7.1 through 7.17 are related to bids, contracts, agreements, and items 7.18 through 7.23 are related to curriculum. The board will be asked to take action on these items at the April 23rd regular meeting. Dr. Kimple, is there anything to be highlighted? Just a couple pieces here. Uh there is a long list under this topic, and that's mainly to give you
a first read so that we can have these items approved with your uh consent next week. Most of these, as you look at it for a theme throughout, are going to be renewals for uh products and other things that we need to have in place to get our school year started next year. I'd like to point out 7.16, which is the classroom door hardware item. As you know, one of the things that we are doing within our CSIP uh for our aging facilities and also for uh improving our safety within our schools is to replace and update all classroom door hardware throughout the district. We have done uh several of those buildings, plus we have the uh new buildings since Walden, Hopewell, Lead, and Angeline Washington have been uh built. And now we are going
through to update hardware uh throughout our district. We have locks on every single one of our doors throughout the uh district, but what we want to do is update those so that they are uh quicker and easier to uh secure in the case of any sort of emergency. At the end of this summer, we'll approximately have about 50% of our uh doors done, and we will continue to do that rotation as we work through those. Also, I want to point out that back in January, I mentioned that when we were talking about uh budget assumptions, one of the things that I put in front of our team was a challenge of finding efficiencies as we are working through this budgeting season because we know that we have some potential shortfalls when it comes to revenue
and other things that you will see actually next week when we talk about budget uh revenue projections. At that time, I reported that we had uh identified somewhere uh in the neighborhood of $2.1 million in efficiencies. And I just want to remind the board that although this is a long list, and there are a lot of costs that come with this list, there are a lot of things that are not on this list because of our teams going through and finding what type of things could we defer and or sunset and not need so that we could find efficiencies to um save money where we we possibly could. Everything that we have here we believe has gone through that vetting process to make sure that we will use these for teachers and students. So, that's
all I have for the written information. You'll be asked uh when we bring this back for consent next meeting, but I'd be happy to answer any questions. Any questions, board? Thank you, Dr. Campbell. You're welcome. Next we have item 8.1, which is policy consent in agenda. We have three policies that will will require board action tonight. Mr. Bolton will provide a brief overview at this time. Mr. Bolton. Thank you. Yes, so just three items tonight. Quick summary, these are all MSBA recommended updates. Um the one I'll highlight is EHBD, which is our AI use policy. Probably won't surprise you. These are updates to kind of keep up with that topic and refine it and make sure we're matching best practices as it applies in the education context. Probably won't be the last time it's in
front of you, so we'll continue to refine that, but no major substantive updates for this one or really any of the three. Just keeping them updated with latest language from MSBA and legal requirements. So, happy to answer any questions. I was curious with the AI. Do we have this coordinator as a house with our technology team or is it It is it is with technology team, yes, but we work they work closely with academic services also. So, kind of got a team approach from practical standpoint. Thank you. There's no further questions or discussion. I will need a motion and a second to amend current policies 8.2 through 8.4 as submitted. So moved. Second. Have a motion by Mrs. Bowlin and a second by Mr. Tulligan. To amend policies as submitted. All those in favor say
I. I. Any opposed say nay. Motion carries 6-0. Thank you, Mr. Bolton. Next we move on to board member reports and requests. Are there any reports or requests tonight, Mrs. Bolton? None, thank you. Mr. Todd? None, thank you. Mrs. Norris? None, thank you. Mr. Tulligan? Uh none, thank you. Okay. It's on my name >> [laughter] >> Uh Mrs. Bolton? None, thank you. Okay. If there's nothing further, then we will adjourn for the evening. The April 16th, 2026 meeting of the Park Hill Park Hill Board of Education is adjourned at 6:51 p.m.
