Start the pledge. >> I pledge allegiance >> to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for it stands one nation under God indivisibley for all. >> All right. Very good. Just need a motion to approve the agenda. S >> Derek. All in favor is 70. Thank you. Um just need um obviously a peek at the consent agenda. Everything's in order then we'll seek a motion for that as well. >> Like to abstain from check 51731 51767. Make a motion to approve consent agenda. >> There all in favor that is 70. Thank you Amy. Um Dr. D you are up for your last uh superintendent report. I I >> I do want to state again. I do. I It's sad to see you leave, but um thank you for all you've

done for us. We've enjoyed working with you. Appreciate >> all the time you spent driving to Typton. >> Yeah. >> Um over the last what, six months, maybe? >> Well, I've been here. You've been here since June. >> June. >> Yeah. >> But we will miss you. Hopefully, we'll be able to keep in touch. >> Oh, yeah. For sure. It's my honor. It's been my honor to be a a Typton Cardner and been a lot of fun. Uh, one of the things as I um I know it's uh we just finished deer season and and now we're in the holiday season, but it's also budget building season. So, I just kind of wanted to kind of give just a base knowledge for you all so that as we begin to move into um Harriet's budget

building um season, then you can kind of have some perspective of where we're at. When we think about like the pots of money, this is where all of our money comes in. You are a you are a district I hope. Um you are a district that relies on local tax money. So 48.98% of the uh revenue share comes in as local tax dollars. I do have a handout for you in your in your packet there if you want to write on it or whatever. uh 32% of it's going to come from statement money, state other state funding. County got 4.7 and then federal dollars at this point is 13 uh% roughly. I'm going to run through these. I'm not I don't want you to memorize them. I just wanted to provide you just a face

kind of a base knowledge of I like I had my mentor over there taught me to look at multiple years. Usually the magic number was three. I got four to get close to as I could. You'll see that you'll see on federal funding, those are things like ECSSE, IDA, title, all of that kind of stuff. Um, so you can see in 22 all the way to 26. This is fiscal year 26. You can see right now this current year we're down about 45,000. This current year, um, I was really shocked in November when they Desi came out and announced when Desi announced um so early a 20% reduction. I'd heard some from some of my peeps down there expect like 15 25%. That may still go a little bit higher as the year kind of

this week kind of goes in to budget standpoint, but we're looking at an additional right now just title 1379 reduction. So, just need to know we got a few holes that we're going to need to kind of consider as we're building that budget. Um, again, this is a little bit lower because typically when I go into a budget, usually 70 to sometimes 85 80% of the money is going to be salaries and benefits. We're different in that aspect because we have mint and Durham that take care of us. So those are all not salaries and benefits for us. Those are what we call purchase services which is the darker green right here at 25%. So I just wanted you to kind of have a base knowledge that typically this is no different than every other

district across the nation. Salaries and benefits are your biggest part of the the when we look at certified salaries. Um, I gave you the salaries and kind of the differences along the way and then the number of positions, how things have kind of uh rolled out. Um, in 24 it looks like y'all had a little bump in the in the salaries um at 187,5748. That was probably still in baseline uh teacher salary grant. We were probably still getting that and so that was some of that was reimbursed to us by the by the state so we can get our teachers to this year. Um, our projected to end the year's $234,426 increase, same as in 24. So that just keeps happening. So then you can kind of see down below the number of positions. This

is just for your information only. Classif or the classified or non-certified salaries. So those are like your administrative assistance custodians, the maintenance director, the nurse professionals. You kind of see it kind of rolls the same. You're gonna go, "Well, what happened here, Julie? 107,000 less." Well, that's because um we remember we moved over a position over into Mint. So, that moved over to purchase services and then we had a couple other places here that we use positions that reduce. So, just letting you know kind of where that is. These are coming straight from your budget. staff benefits. That's things like PSRS, PERS, retirement, health insurance, life insurance, all that stuff. You can kind of see when salaries go up. So, do the benefits, purchase services. This one's kind of important because this is music. This

is your music bill. This is your insurance bill. And when I went back and um I'd like to move you over to this page right here. um you had asked that I come back and kind of report back um how we're doing in the maintenance department and I tell you what, Shannon Bates is working his tail end off. And so this was the report that came to us from music of things we needed to do as of August the 4th. Everything that's got a black line through it is done. The yellow highlighted, we're working on. Uh there's one right here in about mid page. I forgot to highlight it because 12 we're not working on quite yet. I was waiting for Dr. um no boy Ballards or parking stops. So uh in if you'll remember

back in 21 when Sandy Hook happened, they drove a car up and you know that's how sometimes shooters will get into streets and so they are wanting to put the park upstairs to keep that from happening. So that's something that we're that's a little bigger. uh price tag. So, we're we've attacked a lot of stuff you can see on these two pages. We're working on some other stuff. We just haven't quite got everything finished up. When I went into the music website, you you have to go in and like give your preference. And when I went in there, there's a lot of there's a lot of um past. They're very similar. This report looked the same last year as it did this year as it did two years ago. And so I went in and

put our progress toward meeting these goals. So um that will hopefully reduce our risk interest. It will lower our risk which should lower our insurance. Now right this wasn't too bad like a 5% jump this year. That wasn't a big tough one but but just know that's why I put music on there. Uh just so you can kind of see that. And then I brought out I pulled out the the transportation services. Let me go back here and make sure I've got the right years. I want to because you guys were first student and Apple and starting right here this school year 25. These last two columns are N. So you can kind of look fiscal year 22 23 24 were Apple um or student the last two are here. The very last column on

some of these are going to be to date what we spent to date just so you can kind of see where we're trending at the moment. The next one is OPA. We've had OPA for a while. You can kind of see um I'm not sure why the fluctuations. Not sure why that's there. I'm guessing this might have been food costs and I don't know I don't know what it is. A person would have to go back and look through every bill to kind of see did we do more with with certain activities. I don't know that answer. So I apologize I don't have that um but to memory I just want to give you some facts and figures. And the custodial services we have um Mint and they started with this last year and this

is where we're at today. Remember Mint? We also took that one daytime custodian and we moved it to Mint and that person is we've got a great team over there that keeping our instruction spaces good and clean and staff. So utilities are utilities, right? We're not much we can do about them, but I want you to kind of see the trends and then this again year to date so far and then your district reserves. So in this year 22 you can see it's like% um and then in 24 and 25 we bumped up to 44. I'm kind of guessing we probably didn't have a lot of fun activities we were doing such as looking at looking at looking at the kinds of things that are on that music sheet that you have for you. This

is going to be so all of this most of this equates to money. Um this report just really gives you um just a basis to start from. Look over you're going to hear Dr. Wood pick this up and just run with it. We've already had lots of conversations and we're having a meeting today. Had a great meeting with them. So, we'll just see where she goes with it and she'll do a great job. >> Is there any sort of you know support for that state or federalally? >> No, not this time that I'm aware of it. like you were talking about the >> would be a safety that would have been something you could have put on your safety. You remember when you did the secure doors and secure entries? That would have been something

that would have been great. Yeah, that would be something that would be the only thing on that I know of. >> Yeah. And really anytime there's a entry into the board, they want those, you know, those concrete ball just a car. And that's Thank you. >> We'll move on to administrator reports. Pepper, I think you're the first. >> All right. So, u outside of what we had here in the board report, things happened since then, one of which was the football team won the state championship. So, it's a really exciting deal there. Uh the semi-final game we hosted against West followed by our first ever state championship in team history which was played at St. Joseph this year which is the first time St. Joe. Um a lot of people made that trip up there

to St. Joe. It's a really good game. It's pretty cold but it was a really good game. Boys played pretty well and took care of business 39 to 14 state championship. Um, you know, anytime you have a state championship, there's a lot of stuff that goes on with that uh following after the state championship. Um so this Friday they'll meet with just to start designing championship rings for the players and coaches.
