Thank you, Cory. Thank you. At this time, we have some recognitions this evening. Dr. Bow at Amazonia Elementary would like to nominate following people for board recognition. Miss Gina Haggard, I would like to take a moment to recognize and sincerely thank Gina for her incredible support and dedication during the absence of our secretary. She has stepped up without hesitation, taking on extra responsibilities, and helping in every way possible. to keep things running smoothly. 002positive attitude through it all, Gina has truly gone above and beyond. Her teamwork, flexibility, and commitment to our schools has, as we have not gone unnoticed, and we are so grateful for her willingness to do whatever is needed to support our team and our students. Let's give a round of applause. Whatever you want to do. >> Okay, let's keep going. Amaz. >> Indeed. Indeed. Melissa Burgerer. I'd like to recognize and honor Melissa Burgerer for her outstanding dedication and leadership in the classroom. Over the years, she has graciously welcomed and supported many teaching partners, taking the time to show them ropes and ensure a smooth transition for both staff and students. consistently helps students take the important leap from learning concrete skills to apply their knowledge in meaningful ways through clearly through clear expectations, strong relationships,
003and thoughtful guidance. She encourages students to take ownership of their learning and time. Building habits that prepare them for success in middle school and beyond. Her commitment to both her colleagues and students truly make a lasting impact on our school community. Congratulations, Melissa, [Applause] ladies. As Nancy would say, we got to get her picture. >> Congratulations. >> Thank you. It's not as close as it Thank you, baby. >> You don't have to say it's a school night, but financial report. >> All right. Happy boss's day to all the admin here. Hope you're having a good day so far. >> There you go. Indeed. All right. Agenda approval. Um, we do need a motion at this time to add something to the agenda and that would be adding the budget amendments that were discussed during the
004work session. Would someone like to make that motion? >> Thank you, Rebecca. Is there a second? >> Thank you, Cory. Any discussion about the amendment? >> Okay, we'll have that as action. I Well, we're going to have a consent agenda. Let's do that. Is that okay? Yeah. Any objection to that? >> So the motion will be to add that to the consent agenda as item >> would be E. >> Yes, sir. >> All right. As item E says we've already discussed it. Any further discussion about this motion? Very good. Seeing none, we proceed to vote on adding this to the agenda. All those in favor use regular voting signs. All those opposed. Motion carries. 5. Okay. Now would someone make a motion to approve the agenda as revised? >> Thank you. >> Is there a
005second? >> Thank you, Rebecca. All those in favor of the agenda, please use regular vote set. Excellent. >> Hey, it's Thursday night. >> This weekend Okay, now we're on to the consent agenda. Are there any additions to the consent agenda at this time? >> Can I make a motion to add to the consent agenda? >> I would make a motion to move item for action and item the bid fore. >> Very good. Is there a second for this? Thank you, Deb. a discussion about moving the red ribbon week and approving the concrete bid as presented. >> You okay with pulling that off your motion? Okay, so the motion's been revised and you still go with the second. Okay, so we'll leave it just adding red ribbon week to the consent agenda. Any further discussion? Okay,
006we're voting to move red ribbon week to consent. All in favor, use regular voting sign and it passes by vote. Very good. Okay, now let's vote on the consent agenda. I'll need a motion here, second approve the minutes, bills, personnel, and the first reading the policies with the red. Is there anybody would like to make that motion? >> Thank you, Rebecca. Is there a second? >> Second. >> Thank you, De. Any further discussion? All those in favor of approving the consent agenda, please raise regular votes. Motion carries unanimously. Votes. All right. So, now we're ready for action items. General journal. >> All right. So month uh to date we in the month of September 1.481 in revenue and 2.148 in expenditures. Uh so that brings us to our fiscal year to date. We have received
0074.571 million and spent uh 5165214. So that is a deficit of 593 95383 and I will explain in a second that compared to last year we're we're on a good good track. Um so if you look at our investments um our MOAT investments we've made $18,000 uh $17.76. Um year to date on that it's not on here but we have incurred $70,000 of interest. So, those are doing very well and uh so um we'll continue doing that. And then uh down at the bottom um our current connections was 947119. So that moat then we have uh between our bank and investments 12,62,6718. Anything else? >> No, I've I've talked about the lease purchases before. So, >> any questions at this time regarding the general journal? >> Uh, sorry, I do have one more. >> Um,
008so when looking uh at what we spent last year, u the difference is about 558,000 and fund one. We have spent less this year in the tune of 558,000. So that's a good thing. Um I just did fund one because overall uh is a much bigger number, but we were spending money on the high school last year. So um and so we have collected 16.41% of our budgeted revenue this year and spent 16.72% of our expenditures. >> All right. Any other discussion or questions at this time? I get a motion to accept the general journal. >> Thank you and second. Any further discussion? All those in favor, please use regular votes. >> Thank you. Motion carries. And now we're ready for action item C and that would be the 25 SA R3 CIP plan. >>
009Hey. How are you? >> Good. How are you? >> Good. Um, so just a little bit of an update. We wrote our plan two years ago. So, this is revised. We didn't start over from scratch. We just took some goals off that we felt like we had completed and added some goals. We kept our three priorities. Um, success ready students, retaining and recruiting staff and collaborative climate cultures. We kept those three priorities and just changed some of the goals underneath and action steps. So really the two I would point out are right there. Um 80% of our students in grades 2 through 8 reading uh on grade level and 100% of our math teachers and building administrators gaining some understanding of evidence-based strategies. So, we've focused uh a lot of our time and effort on
010literacy and we just want to make sure that as a district we're getting ready and do taking some steps in the right direction to make sure math becomes a focus sooner rather than later. So, um action steps as you look at the CIP, all of our action steps are aligned to a plan. We're responsible to have seven plans in place according to the CIP and all of those action steps are aligned to a plan. Most of them either the professional development plan, assessment plan, literacy plan or um building improvement plans that the building administrators write with the goals in mind. >> Any questions at this time? So I will add that we will have a review of the CE once a quarter at one point use the obviously assesses as you go, right? Is there
011a grade card at one point that we get from see how we're doing? >> Yeah. When do we expect that? >> Um, we turn in our CIP December well December 31st, but December 1st I'll turn that into Nancy. >> And I'm happy to share. There's a lot more that goes into it than just this document. >> Um, so I'm happy to share that with anybody. >> And that's just a great plan, right? >> Say it again. >> Is that just a great plan? Like our plan's on the right track. >> Correct. >> Yeah. What's in it? What it looks like? could have brought our grade card >> and how they assess. I could have done that. >> First time around we did very well. >> We got all 30 points. >> Outstanding. >> That's how
012we roll today. I like it. >> Yeah. I will say our district leadership team has been a viable role in it this year. I feel like last time, not that we didn't have input in the beginning, but then I feel like maybe our cabinet, I don't know. I didn't feel like there was a lot. So, I'm excited that this year our district leadership team having a little more ownership in that. So then when will we do our when will we have a pause to say here's how we did here's where we were towards that 80% and things like that. >> So looking at you >> no I don't want to put it on anybody. >> Yeah. No I think at our quarterly reviews we'll just kind of update you with where we're at. What action
013steps >> you know is there any we can check off where are we at? How are we going? So that would be my >> as far as the report card. Um that won't be out until after the school year. >> Okay good. That's the I have no doubt you guys will have done your job and get all three points again. Now is the learning piece that I think we'll want to hear more. >> I will tell you right now we will not get three points >> only because with our last one we didn't present it quarterly to the board. >> We presented it once. >> Yeah. And not four times. >> I realize we Okay. >> We will not >> we'll find some extra credit. >> So anyway, we will make sure we do it
014this time. >> All right. So you need a motion to approve. >> Yes. Is there a motion? >> Thank you. Is there a second? >> Thank you, Rebecca. Any further discussion? See none. All in favor, please use your regular vote. Motion carries unanimously. Thanks so much. Moving on to action item D concrete work. Mr. Rangers, what you got? >> Well, I was looking over that. I I feel like that graduate of himself were probably $1500. >> Make that motion. >> Thank you. Is there a second? >> We're giving it to Cory. I heard you first. >> Now, let's discuss. Anybody have any questions? About $1,500. Am I correct difference? >> So, just so you know, I went with Clark because it was I'm obligated to offer the cheapest. >> Absolutely. >> Good man. >> Absolutely.
015>> Good man. Any concerns, objections, things you want to share amongst yourselves? >> No concerns with either company, I'm assuming from you guys. I don't know. As >> far as I know, they all do good work. If you guys want Scott's here, so thank you. >> Scott, do you have preference on anything you want to do to advise us? >> Um, we're not Mr. Wright did work on the house that we're working on right now. Uh, I would like to see if at your approval though if we could have some sort of clause written into the contract upon a completion date, a hard completion date, >> so it doesn't the job doesn't get pushed back. >> That's perfectly fair. >> Will you amend your motion? >> Okay. So, the new motion is uh to accept
016John Wright uh for the bid with uh an amendment being added to the contract of a hard completion date. Okay. And is there a fine if he doesn't? >> Whoever writes cont. >> So let's amend the language just a little bit here. Jess, so we're going to move to accept John right concrete uh for the bid stipulation that negotiation will occur for a hard date and the administration will have the right as they see that way they can have the negotiation ability without being pinned down. >> Okay. >> Is that they but then also we're protecting what's going to be right >> please. >> Okay. Also um the instructor would like to go with Clark. I did want to point that out that it was his recommendation to go. >> Okay. Okay. Thank you. Anything
017else? Seeing no further discussion, we'll proceed to vote. Again, it be for John Wright with stipulations of hard deadline and the negotiation piece by the administration. All those in favor of the John right concrete bid, please use your regular voting sign. One, two, three, four. All those one. Allain. Motion carries to one. There we go. Moving on to the budget items. We already did that. Thank you. >> Well, this is a different >> Yeah, we move back. >> Thank you. >> Okay. You good? >> I am. >> Discussion items. Partner review title one zero. All right. John, >> all right. >> Thank you. >> All right. Um the uh our template for the program evaluation uh is also included in the agenda, but um I'm going to kind of just do a quick little slideshow
018presentation to go over what's been included there. Uh this is our title one leadership team, federal programs coordinator and then our uh title buildings that receive the support. We got Mr. Kama and Dr. Bay. Uh and then we also have some to support at our early learning center. So is also on the team. Save the best for last. >> Yeah. Yeah. >> All right. Uh just quick explanation or an overview on title one. our largest uh federal assistant program in schools to divide some additional money to schools with high percentages of economically deprived students. So typically using that free and reduce percentage to figure out that eligibility that threshold is at 40%. Um it's a highly structured and monitored program uh that we submit everything to our regional state supervisors um and meeting expectations as
019far as that's concerned. Uh two types of programs when it comes to title. There's the target assistance model um and that focuses on uh specific students only uh and then the model that we utilize is the schoolwide uh model and that that allows us to provide supports to all students especially low achievers um to improve overall achievement and effectiveness. Uh here's the numbers currently um as our enrollment and then those students that are um eligible for free and reduced uh and then the total percentages at the uh different building levels getting specifically into our two qualifying elementary schools and we only at 43% and recently made client at 34.7. Um the way that works um is once a school qualifies uh meeting that 40% threshold as long as the consolidated plan continues uh to report
020that we're providing services there then services need to continue. Uh so before I get into the numbers of it just an overview on how we utilize the funds that we receive. Uh over 95% of it goes into uh instructional support. So, we've got five teachers, three in the Klein, one uh at Amazonia, and then one at the early childhood center, as well as a pair there supporting their salary and benefits. We uh are required to reserve some of those funds for uh students that live in our district but attend private schools. Um and so that that number is set by the state and then we meet with them and we decide design a plan to provide equitable services and then again um some of that is reserved for our unhouse student population uh if they
021need resources in some way. Can I ask a quick question? You said our two qualifying schools and so the dollars from those schools go into that staff, but we're not the staff's not all necessarily at those two schools. It's we're still using >> the staff's at those those two schools early learning center too. Is that part of the is that >> I don't Yeah, I don't believe that that that data is reported like as far the percentages or whatever. >> Yeah. I just like if we qualify for five teachers or we're paying for it out of the title one dollars, but I was just curious then we're paying we're sending someone to the childhood development with those. >> Yeah, because they have a designated service area that meets that population and because it's not a
022building, correct me if I'm wrong, but because anybody in the district can go there, but the population is enough there that we can prove it. Then Becky can staff that room and Becky, you've had it bigger over time having >> we have a title one. >> We have the title one classroom. >> Okay. >> That two sessions of title one >> and our building and staff are putting their >> meet the criteria services. >> And to go back to what John was saying, you know, elementaryaries or excuse me, early learning centers are on this special category. >> And and the reason why we use the money on a teacher and a parah there is because that way we can have more kids. So we can have 40 kids in there 20 20 in the afternoon
023and have a 10 to1 ratio >> and that population is hopefully better. >> Um just pulled up a budget grid to show how the money's allocated. Um again you'll see more than 95% of that money goes into the staff salary and benefits the money set aside for our public partners and then also >> uh I thought it was worth uh bringing up how we seek input to improve. We do have a few uh opportunities for our stakeholders and parents to be involved. We got a fall and spring event um held on campus at Minine and Amazonia. Gives families the chance to review our engagement policy. Uh make updates to the school parent compact. Uh and then also we look at those needs assessments to try to determine our goals uh including um those other opportunities
024for involvement that we share in those meetings so parents know just how we try to stay connected with them. Uh looking ahead, um we continue to build on our strengths. Uh so we continue to see student growth in reading across both title schools. Um we've got stable and experienced staff in those positions uh that provides consistency and support and intervention. Uh we're going to look to uh stay focused on improvement approaches and uh practices by expanding some of those family engagement opportunities. Um some feedback from our title team is uh how tricky it is um in scheduling that intervention time and so uh looking at some creative ways to strengthen those uh that schedule and progress monitoring and then aligning uh with the RC set goals committed to every learner. So um you know our
025program remains dedicated to giving our resources to ensure every student at every grade level has the support they need to succeed not just academically but beyond that in a district where every student thrives no matter what. Well done John any questions. >> Very good. Second discussion item for program review of the literacy plan. >> Yeah not a program as much as a plan. So Um just going to share with you right now our literacy plan really is our RSP plan. So reading success plan plan um partly because we've been waiting on the state to share with us what should a comprehensive literacy plan be. I'm smart enough to know don't create it before you know a little more about it but you'll be recreating it. So, um, currently it's our reading success plan. Um, and
026what happens with our students who are on a on an RSP. This will continue to be part of our comprehensive literacy plan. But we'll have four trainings throughout the year. Sam Trapman and I will go to those trainings and then our literacy team is meeting once a month and we'll come together and the goal this year is to work on that plan off and on. We did create um some goals when we were together. I did not remember our vision. Do you remember Joanna? Creating a culture of literacy. >> Does that sound right? Sorry, I did not write that down. Creating a culture of literacy. Joanna Hayes says and our three goals around that are improving literacy outcomes, enhancing literature literacy instruction, and um improving implementing strategies in all core content areas as well. So
027that's kind of where we're headed in the will fall into place. >> Do you have numbers of how many students we believe will fall into >> reading success plan? >> I do not. I can get you that. >> I don't have a percentage. I don't know if each of you can tell how many kids you have on. >> I can tell the ones we're working on for parent teacher conferences. Some are coming off like we just screen them and so some are coming off but it's higher than I would like obviously when they have plans. So it's about 115 115 of our 570 >> 10% is sixth grade roughly or lower for seven but 10% sixth grade 20 >> else we have >> 10 I think 10 to 12 with the caveat being that the
028state gave us the option if we wanted to keep amending IEPs or write a reading success plan for kiddos that are on an IEP and qualify for a reading success plan. And after talking it over with uh Becky, we decided it would be more of a nightmare for parents and everything to keep updating their IEP every four weeks. So those kids are some quote double identified in that they would have an IEP for reading and a reading success plan. >> Thank you ladies. >> Very good. Any other questions that Thank you. >> Thank you. >> Bill reports we have this week. >> We do. Yay. >> But before you start it, um we I just wanted to thank the community for supporting the tax and getting the SRO's for us because it's been a huge
029impact and we're early in the year and I know I've heard some community feedback like what does he do all day especially at Amazonia. So I thought I would go ahead and uh make my report about that. Um he also h is very on it and he shares my uh personality about if we're going to do it, let's do it. And so he's walked the building and come up with some ways that we can keep our staff and students even safer to kind of um be thinking as we're budgeting in the future for different safety measures that we can put in place that we don't currently have. So that's at the end of this presentation. What is your name? >> Hudson, how old are you, Hudson? >> I'm six. >> You're six. Hudson, what do
030you think Officer Ricky does in this building? >> He washes dishes. What do you think about Officer Ricky? >> Officer Ricky [Music] He helps the police cars to come. >> Yeah. And he helps people on the air. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Thank you. >> Tell me what your name is. >> My name is Gavin. I'm in fourth grade and I love your >> name and I'm thinking my name is I like >> Thank you girls. [Music] Officer taking from bad guys in the school. [Music] What's your name? >> What do you think he does in our building? >> Do you think he knows anything about Star Wars? Have you ever heard about Star Wars? What's your name? >> And how are you? >> What do you think? Anything else? What's your name? >> How old
031are you? >> What do you think about our building? What is your name? >> Um, what does officer Ricky do in our building? >> Protect others. What do you think about Officer Ricky? Very nice guy. >> Okay, thank you. >> Protect us. [Music] Thank you very much. You're welcome. >> All right, moving on toformational items. The upcoming business meeting will be Thursday, November 13th, 2025 at the district office at 7 p.m. Are you wanting to have a work session at that time or >> um not at this? >> Okay, I think that's sounds fine. I really need to share some stuff. Yep. >> We vote on discussion about it. Not there. Uh B. Annual staff appreciation lunch will be Thursday, November 20th. Jess, do you need RSVPs? >> Uh not yet. >> Okay. Uh C.
032Staff holiday giveaway will be Friday, November 21st 3 p.m. at the high school. Uh same spot as usual. Very good about the football field. Uh last day of the quarter is uh first quarter is Friday, October 17th. That's tomorrow. And we're on an early out schedule, I believe. >> Okay. Very good. And then we got a day off of school coming up too. The 27th >> and then >> it's like the 24th and the 27th. >> There we go. >> All right. Very good. And then the annual conference at Crown Center this year, October 23rd, 25th. See Jess for details. See no further items on the agenda. Uh is there a motion to >> move? All his favor voting signs the jur.
