001over screen time in schools is coming to a head today in Fairfax County. The school board is set to vote on changes that could limit how students use technology in the classroom. The plan would require parent permission for school devices to go home, ban digital devices for regular instruction in pre-K through first grade, and it would require elementary students to keep devices stored away when they are not being used for lessons. We spoke with an American professor about the impact. >> Fairfax County is one of several urban districts, urban and suburban districts right now across the United States, who are really grappling with this kind of parent-led backlash against technology in the classrooms. And so, Fairfax is right on the zeitgeist. Should we have less screen time in schools? I think the evidence is showing that when we're investing a [clears throat] lot in educational technology, we're not seeing the payoff in student achievement. >> We know a lot of you are interested in this.
