001two very different groups of protesting outside the county school board meeting our john henry is in loudoun county tonight and john what exactly do these groups want well they have very divided views there's two dueling groups out here as you said outside the loudoun county administration loudoun county schools administration building one is against the teaching of critical race theory while the other has no problem with crt they just want public funding to be used on public schools and not charter schools now there have been a few tense moments between these groups but overall things have been very peaceful at the anti-crt rally politicians and preachers have shown up to speak they claim crt is being taught in this school district something else cps has always strongly denied interestingly enough none of these topics i mentioned
002are even on the school board meeting agenda for tonight still both sides in this politically divided time felt the need to come out and make their voices heard not only are they trying to break up the black community but they're trying to divide blacks and whites and particularly blacks against white republicans we can't have that we're one country we're all americans we have great teachers here we are so grateful for our public school teachers and they are not being treated well at all it's really weird when there's a group of mega churchgoers that talk about indoctrination in our public schools right so we know what indoctrination is and it's not what our teachers are doing now the lawton county school board will also vote on a new disciplinary measure tonight that will give it more
003latitude to take children here in the school district who have been accused of major crimes out of the school's general population they said that is not in response to what happened here last year you may remember with that sexual assault scandal that grabbed the nation's attention here in loudoun county rather they say this is coming about due to a rule from the virginia state assembly guess yeah it sounds like we're picking up where we left off last school year all right john henry in loudoun county for us tonight thank you john
