All in favor? Aye. That passes. Approval to delete policy JBCBA inter-district intra-district transfer procedures. And just a note, that's that is a deletion, but it's because we're rolling that into the other previous policy. Yeah. Just real quick, just those three policies that you just voted on here, the J policy J, those are just cleaning up our

withdrawal, transfer, and all of those policies. They are kind of making them more concise, deleting duplicate language, and some contradictory language. >> Yeah. That's the point. So. Motion. Second. All in favor? Aye. All right. The next, uh, I was told I don't have to read that whole paragraph because we have to end this by midnight. So, uh, if you refer back to letter N, it will be the request to approve a bond resolution for the Mississippi development bank bonds. That's what we are voting on. And that's what Mr. Ball just talked about. It just hurts me that we go out and have to ask for additional $17 million. Any questions? Second. All in favor. Aye. All right. Next we have a request for approval of an MOU between Southern Miss Planning and Development District and

Award approval to award janitorial services to Parkview LLC. I'll speak to that just for a second. We took bids last week. Opened the bids one afternoon, had a team come

So, the first one is an approval of 16 section rental adjustment for Otis Rich Jr. Um This is lease 444. There has been actually no adjustment [music] since 1993.

So, the new the new amount will Old lease amount is 80, the new amount will be 175. Motion. Second. Second. All in favor? >> [snorts] >> Aye. That passes. All right. Second one is approval of a canceling of a portion of unexpired 16 [music] section lease for Bobby and Jane Wallace. This is lease number 189. [music] This was actually a reclassification where they we split out two acres and the [music] house to go under residential instead of farm residential. So, this is just [music] canceling out that portion to for a new person. Motion. Second. All in favor? Aye. That passes. All right. Third item is approval of cancellation [music] of 16 section lease due to nonpayment. This is David I Piguet Gray, lease number 973. It was It was [music] tabled at a previous meeting.

They came in and paid $300. They owed $4,000. I've tried to contact them. Motion. Second. All in favor? Aye. That passes. Fourth approval of a cancellation of unexpired This is K >> [music] >> K K Properties lease number 869. They are selling the structure and somebody else is purchasing so [music] we just need to cancel their lease. So to approve them the lease. Perfect. Second. All in favor. Aye. And then number five is approval to demolish the structure and clear a lot. It's the address is 523 Round Street, Purvis. It is we got two quotes for this. One came in at 8,000, one was 8,500. And let's see. It was a Brian's [music] Trucking with a low bid at 8,000. The house is abandoned and there's been no active lease on it. I got to

contact That's a 90-day verbal period so Question. That's all. As long as you say canceled back in 2012. Yeah. I'll make a motion. Second. All in favor. Aye. It passes. And then number six approval to remove trees on an agricultural lease for Josh Williamson. He's He We awarded the ag leases last month and this is if [music] you want to He's wanting to build a fence to put cattle on. Okay. So we we paying [music] to remove the trees? No, no, that's on him. That's on him. He just needs the permission to >> Our permission to do Motion. Second. All in favor. Aye. It passes. And then the last item is approval for to authorize the Forestry Commission to to prep and accept bids for a 40-acre timber sale. This was a salvage sale that

he contacted me last week after the tornado about 40 acres was destroyed on [music] section uh let's see. It was section uh 16 2 North 15 West over on Dawson Road, Purvis. So get what you can while it's still marketable. Yeah. Perfect. Second. All in favor. Aye. It passes. All right. Um Caleb mentioned the tornado from last week. Just want to say that none of our school buildings sustained any damage. I think the only damage we had was our career technical center sign there on 589. They got hit with a tree. But, just so thankful that we didn't have any uh personal injuries. A lot of trees down, a lot of homes, but as far as people, I think everybody made it out okay. We uh Purvis High School did start accepting donations, passing out

donations today there on site there. Uh so proud of them and thankful for them. I know that they had a lot of kids out helping them load cases and pallets of water and usable items there that we can hand out to the victims there of the tornado of last week. Let's talk about athletics for a little bit since we had our Purvis and Sumrall here. Uh I'm happy to announce first of all that uh the Mississippi High School Activities Association does what they call scholar athletes, teams, and that says you have a 3.0 or better GPA. Each of our high schools uh qualified for that this year. Just uh real quickly, our entire district GPA was 3.59 for 83 teams across the district. Uh Lumberton High School with a 3.5 GPA for their 12 teams.

Oak Grove High School 3.61 for their 31 teams. Purvis High School 3.59 GPA for 19 teams. And Sumrall High 3.67 for 20 teams. So, that's a huge uh testament to our our scholar athletes. They truly are uh students first and athletes second, but you see >> [laughter] >> it's represented here tonight. They do pretty dang good in the field and on the courts. Which leads into uh Sumrall is still playing softball and baseball. Sumrall softball girls played South State earlier today, meaning they will play tomorrow. No rest for the weary. They turn around and play tomorrow for game one of the state championship at the uh USM. they will be playing uh Let's see. It's uh softball is playing Lafayette. You know, so they will be playing them starting game one tomorrow, game two on

Wednesday, and then game three if needed on Thursday. Baseball will be playing Pearl River Central State. Their game tonight got postponed to tomorrow night. They're playing South Jones, game one at Sumrall High. Uh so, they'll be wrapping up our MHSAA playoffs. Softball wraps up period this week. Uh hopefully, Sumrall will continue on to play state championship after this week, but got to got to take care of South Jones first. Um Talked a lot about money tonight. I just want to mention our fiscal year 25 audit is complete. It's been filed [snorts] to the office of uh state auditor. Uh there were three minor findings on it, but uh you know, that's what an auditor's job is, to come in and find some things. We've already uh taken care of two of them instantaneously, and the

third had to deal with 16 sections, and Caleb has done a great job. That's an ongoing project, but he has taken care of that finding. There will be no problem there. So, all in all, the audit was great. And uh yeah, just hats off to uh our retired CFO, Jennifer Hester, and Chase Boston and the teamwork they have in their office to take care of our findings. We really appreciate that. Uh just a quick testing update. All testing should be completed by the end of this week, so we're wrapping up that end of course testing, AP, and all other things there. Um as we start wrapping up the year, we'll just want to mention that our administrators will all be meeting June 3rd through the 5th right here in this building, where we're reflecting on

this past school year, but hopefully, getting ready to prepare for the next school year, and somewhere in between there, they get a little refreshing and a little R&R for them. They've done a great job this year, but we're excited about those three days that we can spend [music] together getting ready for next year. Uh last week, we had our Excellence in Education night. It was where we recognized our teachers of the year, all of our retirees, those that completed national awards, and our employees with 25 or more years of service to the Lamar County schools. So, it's a great event. Uh, it was fun to be able to recognize each of them, and they had family there. Chick-fil-A provided the food for our reception that we had for them afterwards. And again, that event keeps

growing each and every year. So, I want to thank Alice Reagan and and Liz Freeman for their work on helping us plan that and honor all our people there. Um, graduation. Got to remind everybody about graduation this week. Uh, we start Thursday night, uh, Oak Grove High School, Friday night Purvis High School, uh, Sumrall High on Saturday, and Lumberton on Sunday. All at 7:00 p.m. Right now, it looks like the weather, uh, is bearing well for those yet. Knock on some wood. Uh, hopefully that the Purvis doesn't get interrupted again or any of the schools like they did last year. And lastly, I wanted to mention, uh, that you approved special minutes, uh, from that April 28th that that the bulk of that meeting was for us to approve the contract for Oak Grove Middle

School. It was awarded to Max Construction, uh, here in in the Pine Belt area. So, we're super excited about that. Max was going to be here tonight, but uh, softball game was got rescheduled, and so many of their people were unable to be here because of that. We just wanted to recognize them. Uh, Rick, we've got a little tweak on one part of the contract. We'll be ready to sign that this week, probably in the next day or two at the most, and get that uh, pre-construction meeting set up, and we'll be ready to roll on Oak Grove Middle School. Awesome. Super excited about that. And that's all I have. Great report. Thank you, ma'am. Uh, all right. Next, we're going to go ahead and set both our next meetings, uh, four meetings. It's the

summer, it gets busy, so we're just going to go ahead and do that. We'll move a little bit around, but we are looking at June 8th and July 20th. Are we good with those dates? Four, okay. Any other motions? Motion. Second. All in favor? Aye. That's unanimous. All right, next we have bounced to the consent agenda, Mr. LaBelle. Any questions? No questions. Ms. Farmer? Yes. Mr. Sullivan? Mr. Sullivan? All right, if there are no other questions, we will entertain a motion to accept the consent agenda. Motion. Second. All in favor? Aye. All right, that takes us all the way down to item number 10. Mr. LaBelle, you can step out. Just give me a few more notes for that approval of this vote. All right, so we are looking for an appointment recommendation for Ms.

Crystal Caldwell. Who is being is Who's James' sister. So I'm sorry. I got to get her by the way though. What? I recommend her certified teacher somewhere around 2026-2027. Got you. Motion. Second. All in favor? Aye. And that passes. You're back on. Okay, thank you. John Plummer, assistant. We did. Motion. All right, next we will consider executive session. We have some zone transfer requests, uh a release request, and some litigation matters. I make a motion to consider executive session for the matters we discussed. Second. All in favor? Aye. And that passes. I make a motion to enter executive session. Second. All in favor? And that passes. Now you can gentlemen, we are in executive session. Thank you all for coming to see us. If you have business with the board on the executive session agenda,

you can wait out there. I'll come and get you all when it's when we're ready. Thank you all. Have a good day. Take care. Thank you. This is I I thank you. All right.
