007Board. What school board members do every day is vital for the success of the home school district and we greatly appreciate your service. So on behalf of Kings Middle School and sixth graders, we have a small token. It's this basket and we also have a unique piece of art that some of our art students created. It's a tiger. I know you're former alumni. It's a tiger and it has some of their thumb prints in the picture. President. Our school board members is Adam President E. We're grateful Miss Dylan. 008board member that we are honored this evening is Dr. Abs. Dr. Ver, we would like to thank you for your dedication and everything that you do for the school district. We thank you for your leadership. We just pray that God just continue to bless you as you move forward and look out for university and our students. On behalf of the board, we thank y'all. Next, we have technology update from Miss Roberts. >> Good evening. As of today, we are about 25% complete with the Wi-Fi installed at the high school. We hope to have it completely finished by the end of next week. So, we're trying to make sure that building is covered not only before testing starts, but enough time that we can go ahead and start working on the other schools. I also want

009you to know that the RFP closed on January 30th. Our department will be scoring that this month so that in March the board can go through and look at our recommendation for who's going to take the RFP for the cyber security grant that we got last year. Those are the two big updates we have right now. Do you have any questions you want to ask? >> Do we think that we'll have everything in place for testing? >> Yes. Uh actually all of our schools are at 90 to 95% coverage right now, but we're moving to put new APs in place so that we don't just have coverage, we have better coverage, be more reliable, less likely to go down and to make sure testing is not just happening, but it's more secure. So, have all

010the mobile links that we you see in place where >> the ones that someone gave us, >> right? >> They're actually being used by the schools right now. We're actually uh putting in place the new Wi-Fi APs that we purchased through Miss Halls and Yale. They're actually all came in. All 74 were delivered. We did uh today was actually the first full day of install at the high school. We did about 25% of that campus today. So right now the whole first floor long hall and part of the short hall has been completed. But when I found out that the high school will be doing ACT testing on the 14th, we're going to go ahead and move to the science swing next to make sure that that location is up to par before that testing

011would occur. So the goal is to have the uh the whole high school done by the end of next week. >> So are we prepared for security? >> Yes, the Wi-Fi APs are actually more secure than our old ones. They're running the latest version of uh WPA3 and that's both for adults and for students. The devices have already been migrated to the new Wi-Fi. So when we roll them out, they already they automatically connect without someone having to go back in and put the devices in. They're already set to automatically connect to what's new. Thank you. Next we have screw at risk. First we have and then sorry. Monthly schoolboard update 2526. Six schools at risk school board meeting February 9th, 2026. MCOME school district middle school. Our school identification is CSI. Our current accountability

012points from 2024 2025 is 348, which gave us a letter grade of a C. Our school goal is a 460, which will give us an A. In order to achieve that 460, our proficiency in reading must be 45%. Growth for all in reading must be 70 and percent growth for the bottom 25 must also be 70. Our math proficiency will hit at 55%. Our growth for all in math will be 75 and our growth of the bottom 25 will be 75% as well. For science and biology for science six fifth grade science we will need 70% and we are shooting for a participation rate of 100. When we look at our middle of the year assessment data which is coming from benchmark 2, our proficiency is re in reading is 39.1%. Our growth for all

013is at 56.1 and our growth for the bottom 25 is 58.6. Our math proficiency is 47.3. Our growth of all is 69.4 and our percent growth for the bottom 25 is 74.3. Our science data for fifth grade science is coming in at 66.2% and that was with a participation rate of 100%. Our monthly data for the month of January, our total school enrollment was 265 students. Our student ADA is 91.24%. Percent of students with two or more absences for the month who are chronically absent, 21.37%. Our teacher attendance rate is 97.53% and for January we had 49 discipline referrals with 12 of them being bus. Our total allocations for 2024 fiscal year is remaining at $6,934. Our total allocations for year 2025 2026 is $73,454 and 2026 2027 allocations have not been released. Any questions?

014It's not really so much a question, but let me commend you on bringing your reading efficiency up. That is a tremendous strength. And so, but I do have a question. What did you do differently from the beginning of the year to deliver the new year to increase your percentage? Well, when we look at reading um across the board, some of the standards are not taught during the first benchmark because it is a comprehensive assessment and the standards are kind of spiraling around and so there are a lot of standards when we took bench one that teachers just had not gotten to. And each time we have another benchmark, we will have taught more and more standards. So by bench three which is at the end of this month we will have covered all standards and

015we should be where we are supposed to be with the 55% 45% reading and our um bottom our growth should be at 70. >> My question is um did you have any type of um parental participation? >> Yes we do. We um schedule parent teacher conferences all the time. Um they're happening every single day at Higgins Middle School. I actually was in conferences with parents all day today. I had four. Um we also have our interventionist who also makes um we do data checks with data chats with parents as well and she meets with parents on a on a weekly basis. >> Thank you. I don't who actually began our report on the second page. The date of the schoolboard meeting is February the 9th, 2026. Mcome School District, the name of our school is

016Dana Junior High School. At this point, we are um school identification is TSI for ELA. Our current accountability points are 242 points. Our school goal is to become a 352 C. Looking at our data, you can see that in reading we had 29 20.9% efficiency, 36.3 growth of all, 49% of bottom 25. In math, we had 29% efficiency, 39.7 growth of all, 42.1% growth of the bottom 25. And in science, we had 25% efficiency, participation rate of 95% or better. BO reading is was 24.2%. 2% proficiency 32.6 growth of all 35% growth of bottom 25 math 53.1% proficiency 72.7% growth of all and 58.2 two growth of our bottom 25 in science we had 30.7% and 7 95% participation rate our last benchmark if for reading we had 27% proficiency 37.3 growth of all 34%

017growth of the bottom 25 math 44.8% 8% proficiency, 48.3 growth of all, and 47.7 growth of the bottom 25. In science, we had 46.2% deficiency, and our participation rate was 95%. Looking at our total enrollment for uh which would been January was 297. Our student ADA was 89.67. The percent of students with two or more absence for the month is 31.91. Our teacher attendance rates was 97.09 and number of discipline first was 20 for the month. Now you can go to the U front page is where you can see our actual plan where we have actually written the vision and we're making a plan that we're expecting to be a 352 or greater C. There's some things that we put in place concerning our leadership, Miss Jones and I. We're doing classroom observations. We're ensures

018that students will begin after school tutoring starting next week. We're working with those parents. We our counselors also assisting and making sure we're communicating to get those students there in the classroom. We're doing teacher tables. We're doing boot camps. We're doing pushin and team teaching. We also have interventions that are coming in. We have our consultants that are here. And we also have personnel that are coming in to assist us. And you can see that those are listed. Our goal to be for eighth grade science is 65% proficiency. In seventh and eighth grade math, 50% proficiency proficiency, 70% growth of all, and 70% growth of the bottom 25. In ELA, we're expecting to have 25% proficiency or greater, 50% growth of all, and 50% of the bottom 25. Yeah, good evening. My question probably has

019nothing to do with academics and it may be a question for the superintendent when we're talking about an afterchool program. At the end of the day, they may be hungry, physically drained. are we what are we doing to prepare them for the boost in studying that we're doing? >> U Miss Martin, we had an after school meeting last week and we had already parted at the table including Miss Betty Williams from food service. Uh she's going to make certain that the kids do receive a snack before uh during the time they will be in after school tutorial. Um, Miss Wilson has been planning and organizing this uh since I returned. And Miss Wilson, would you want to speak to where we are right now? >> Yes, sir. >> We are going to begin on Tuesday.

020Uh, next Tuesday, February the 17th. We will be meeting on Tuesday, Wednesdays, and th Thursday th Thursdays afternoon at the afternoons for the um snack that going to be served. All the schools have a schedule that'll be served immediately after school and so that they do have a boost in order to learn. There's also enrichment activities on each of those schedules so that they're doing academic English, math and science that fifth a grade. However, we do know that we need something to also keep them there to stir them. And so even as we look at enrichment, we ensure that that enrichment still incorporates skills that can help to boost their understanding of the English, math and science standards. Good evening. Two things. Um first thing is what was what happened between the beginning of the

021year and the end of the year for your um math was >> I'm sorry about math. Actually, one of our teachers was is no longer with us and so there was some several changes and shift shifts and you know concerning our students once they were shifting it was inaccurate with that new teacher and by that time it's actually time for testing >> but we're looking forward to actually putting it back up. >> Second thing is um what are we doing about the absence at your school? >> We're actually um David we're actually contacting parents our counselor as well as our district person is also reaching out to those parents. I'm also sending out messages. My students are toy teachers are also sending out messages as well encouraging the parents to ensure that they're in class

022in time. >> Thank you. >> I have um one question and I'd like to know what are we doing different at this state of the game for as far as reading is concerned for the lower percentile to bring their reading to standard. We actually have our interventions that are coming in now that are working with them. We also have a lab that we've started down in the classroom where students able to be pulled as well and get that support as well. And we have classwork now that actually creates a path for the students where it meets them where they are and bridge. >> So the student needs individualized um assistance. Will they be able to? >> Yes sir. As a matter of fact, our intervention as well as our teachers, they're working with them. they're

023looking at their data and that we're getting the students to actually own their data and we're working with parents as well to ensure that they're aware of the expectation because sometimes it's just a simple uh talking to the parent getting the parent on board to understand that we're concerned about your child's education but we need your buy in as well and Miss Harper to go back to your question about uh absenteeism this Thursday we have a meeting with our uh attendance officer and all the schools will there uh to address strategies that we need to do that we need to uh input going forward to make certain our students are at school. One of the things that we're looking at doing is setting up a meeting with our local judge to help us enforce some

024of the things that we need to keep our student uh in school. That meeting is this Thursday at 2:00. data update by the principal benchmark. Is it principal or could be a little combination? >> Well, we have the director of curriculum, Miss Ber. Good evening, everybody. Um, we would like to take some time tonight to just go over some of our data from our bench two um for my benchmark 2 assessment that was taken before we went home before the uh winter break. When we got back in January, the data was compiled and we had some sessions with each school to um to look at the data that was input into equity analytics and some plans were done by principles and so we've just kind of taken a deep dive into the data. So tonight

025we're going to look at the data packet that was shared with everyone in the data packet. It consists of data from each school as we get to the testing grade levels which are grades three and above. Each one will have their grades broken down by grade and then each school will have an overall slide. So we will um talk about each slide for the overall school and then principles they will come forward and share anything as far as plans or um any new directions or any incentives anything that they have that they've been working on um to address the benchmark 2 data and anything going forward to benchmark 3. So without further ado we will have Kennedy Elementary to come forward first. Good evening again. Um this is the data for Kennedy Elementary School for

026the fall. We started off with um a goal of 697. We had 119 students that we tested. 43 met the goal and that was 36.1% that met that goal of 697. For the winter our goal changes. For the fall it was 697, the winter 745. And for the spring the goal will be 793. Um for the winner we had 133 kindergarten students to test. Um 66 of them met the pres the um 745 goal. So that made 50% of our kindergarteners at this time for the winter um on target to make their spring score. Some our yearly goal for kindergarten is going to be at 8:15 this year. Our prek goal is a 7:30. How are we responding to the data? We immediately got our teacher support team organized and um moving. We have tier

027two and tier three meetings analyzing all data and making sure the parents understand the data. Our interventionist is working day and night. She's sent us schedules and she's constantly revamping what students she sees and when. We had parent meetings um and the kind kindergarten teacher practitioners had um data meetings individually where they had to answer questions such as what specifically do you plan to do with below level reading students? How do you plan to challenge or higher students? Specifically, what will you do to push them? How are my students progressing as an entire class toward our goals? And what can the administration team do to support and help you achieve your goals? Um my expectation u Dr. Woodall and I are intervention for intervention time mandates we are mandating that during the teachers intervention time

028they do five to well 10 minutes of phmical awareness with micro heard they do 5 to 10 minutes with task cards with kindergarten readiness components and that they do 20 minute stations where the teacher practitioner will work with two groups per day. Our January monthly recognitions are our teacher practitioner of the month is Lenicia May. Our staff of the month is Wanita Butler. Our student of the month for preK is Na Kaine. And our kindergarten student of the month is Markin Walker. Thank you. All right, moving on. Um, as I mentioned before, we're going to just go by overall grade level for each school. So, in the package or leisure, you can kind of look by each grade level if you like. We're going to move right on to the overall grade, which is a

029combination of each grade level in the building. So, third, third and fourth grade of AIN building, the overall slide, it consists of a combination of what each grade level and how they perform. So, as OAN is coming just to go over the slide to give you an idea of how it's set up. Um, I know we have Miss Harper and Mr. Hart, our new members. So, I would like to just kind of go over the sheet and explain um how it's set up. When we look to the left hand side, we have um proficiency, we have growth for all, and we have growth for BQ. BQ is bottom quartile. You'll hear hear us talk about um use that abbreviation, but BQ is for bottom quartile. You will also hear bottom quartile sometimes referred to as

030LPS, which is lower performing students. Um in the in the black where it says 20 24, these are actual actual scores from last year around this same time for benchmark 2, but they are not the same students. It's the different cohort. So on the left hand side in reading and on the left hand side in math under 2425 those students right now are at the next grade. So if we were looking at the third grade slide those students would now be fourth grade. If we were looking at a fourth grade slide they would now be fifth grade. So it's a different cohort of students. So in the red 256 are the new scores for this year's benchmark. So for reading and overall it was 34.4% 4% growth for all was 55.9% bottom quartile growth was

03159.1 in math for this year it was 39.6 6 50% growth for all and 34.1. Miss Chapman, Miss Font, you may go ahead. >> Good evening again everyone. Uh we have seen some great gains in reading. Um after the first benchmark, we were able to hire a reading interventionist who has been working with our third and fourth grade uh lower performing students, our bottom cile. And so we have seen some growth from that. Uh we are still struggling with our math uh bottom cile. So, we need some support um in that area. Uh so, our action plan uh going forward, how are we responding to our benchmarks to data? Uh we're still looking at student accountability. Uh we're making sure that we have data chats with students uh weekly. Um Miss Bonds and I are

032also talking with students about where they are, what their goals are. Uh for the next benchmark, we are addressing student behavior. Um at our we have quite a few students who are repeaters. you know, those are the kids that continue uh to act up. So, we're trying to come up with some creative ways uh to make sure we're keeping those students in class but not allowing them to interrupt learning for others. Uh we're also doing attendance incentives um talking to parents. We're sending uh Mrs. Jones out for home visits uh for those students who are having attendance issues. We are looking at teacher accountability. Um the teachers are looking at their individual scoreboards. They're coming up with individual plans for how they are addressing their data. Um, and they're using that data to plan for

033their teacher tables and their centers. Uh, we're also doing teacher attendance where we're giving incentives for teachers. Um, we know that this is a struggling part of the year where a lot of teachers are sick, but we want teachers at school so that they're teaching children. Our instructional focus is on tier one. Uh, we have Mr. Zach who is our MDE coach who is making sure that we are effectively using our HQIO uh which is my view for reading. Uh we are looking at our instructional schedules and figuring out creative ways to make sure that we're making use of all of our time. Um we have 90 minutes of instructional time for reading and we're making sure that we're making use of that time. Uh we're also happy to have our daily group consultant who

034is working with student groups in third grade. Uh we're also focused on tier 2 instruction. Uh we're making sure that our teacher tables are data driven and we're making sure that we have effective centers for students to actually practice skills. We are strengthening our PLC's and our common planning. Um our focus is not on writing lesson planning. Our focus is on effective preparation for lessons. So not just writing a bunch of things, you know, on a paper, but we want to make sure that teachers know what standards they're teaching and know how to teach them with them. We're also addressing behavior. We're continuing with our monthly PBIS activities. Uh we're using class dojo and behavior charts for behavior management. And we're also coming up with creative creative alternatives for ISS and OSS. We're also focused

035on our tier three interventions. Uh as I said before, we have hired an interventionist to to support us in reading. Uh but we want to have an interventionist for math as well to address that bottom quartile. and we're going to continue to use our activity teachers and our assistants to help uh with intervention. Lastly, we're going to continue addressing our social emotional well-being. We're going to continue using our classroom champion platform, which I'm happy to report that Oen Elementary was number two out of 82 schools in the nation for classroom champion use. >> All right. And we're going to keep going with our character education using um our wonderful counselor, Mr. Felton. and we're going to work with our behavior therapist to provide effective tier two and tier three uh behavior supports. All right, our

036accountability scoreboard, we want to have a grade of C by the next benchmark. Um our reading proficiency goals overall, we want to have a 38% goal of proficiency in reading and 25% in math. Our growth for all goal is to have an overall growth of 83% that's both third and fourth grade. And for BQ growth, we want to have an overall growth of 80%. Math, our growth for all, we want to have 85% growth for all and BQ growth 75%. Our January recognitions, our teacher of the month is Miss Tara Thompson. She is a fourth grade math and science teacher. Our staff of the month is Miss Lisha Johnson. She is our awesome receptionist. She sets the tones for our office in our school. She greets parents if they come in on 100. She is

037that voice that brings them right on back down to zero. So she is amazing. Our students of the month, first grade is Bella King, second grade, Jared Meyers. Third grade Jason Carter and fourth grade Gabriella Davis. Any questions? Oh, and I forgot to mention we are implementing after school tutoring um starting next week. My question is is centered around when we talk about in your action plan and addressing behavior. You have creative alternatives for IFSS and OSS. What are some examples of creative alternatives? >> Uh, one of the creative alternatives is having parents to come in and sit with students who cannot see from class. Also, we're doing during activity time campus clean up. So, students cleaning up during their activity time instead of being during instructional All right, moving along to uh Summit Elementary.

038Looking at their overall scoreboard for proficiency in reading, it was 45.6%. For growth overall, 64.1% in reading. For the bottom quartile, it was 91.7%. For math proficiency it was 48.5% growth for all 51% and growth for the bottom quartile 67.9%. Good evening again everyone. Um, in responding to summit's needs, we are of course looking at some of the key standards. We met with our Bailey group with before last um each PLC, the reading PLC, professional learning community and math. We sat down together and we looked and we prioritized those needs. Not only do we look at standards, we look at individual students regarding how they're progressing, how they did on the test, where um there might be some misconceptions, some things that might be going wrong with you. We drilled it down to individual students.

039That's that's one of the beauties of having um a small small testing community. You can really drill down and see who needs what. And that's also the case with the teachers as well. You can see that that immediate need that a teacher may have. you can respond to that need. So, um key areas of need that we are focusing on priority standards and mastering gaps. So, we have some key standards that are power standards when they get to fourth grade, but we have some skill deficits when they enter in August. So there's a a endg game that we're looking at in terms of the the rigor of the standard, but there are some skills that they're missing in order to align to get to that um that end game, which you know is the test.

040And um you know, so we're double dipping a lot of times. We're teaching ways that we learn the skill, practicing the skill, but we're also trying to make sure that we are giving them the instruction that they need um so that they can dwell on the test. So, um, and that aligns to our growth, um, and proficiency gaps. Um, in terms of the testing, um, testing lingo, our 3A kids are considered bubble kids. 3A is a is a high higher. It's not your your bottom, your low um, low kids that are usually easier to grow in testimonial. When you get to your 3A, 3B level, it becomes a it's it's a skill game. a veteran teacher, lots of skills, lots of hands-on. So, we're looking at building capacity in terms of the support in classroom

041so that we can bridge those gaps. We have the expertise of Miss Wala who has previously been a math coach. Um, in her new role, it's a bit of a challenge to get in as she did when she was a math coach, but she does take um take time to get in to support the fourth grade um with those learning gaps. And we have um a wonderful wonderful um third grade teacher who was a graduate of McCome High School, Mcome School District and she's done a wonderful job, Miss um Waller, Dr. Waller, excuse me, Dr. Waller goes in to to just support her to see what resources. So, it's a different level of support. So, again, with a smaller community, we are able to tailor our levels of support. Um reading is struggling along. um

042just just when I say superb teachers that understand the skills what I would like to see more of um in an intentional way co-eing among our um special education department even among grade levels because there are there are times um that present itself in which a third grade teacher could help out with some of the proficiency gaps that we are seeing. with our older students. Um, and that's just a higher level of PLC that we will be working towards. Um, action steps. We're doing weekly data chats. That's in our professional learning communities. And what we model in our professional learning committee communities is translated into the the learning classroom. Students, scholars know where they are. They know what they need to do on every test, not just the benchmark. On formative assessments that they take

043at the end of the week, exit tickets, they know that I if I have five questions, I need to get at least three right in order to be hitting my goal. If I have five questions, I need to get some of them just need to get two right. If it's a five question test, they know what they need to do in order to hit their goal. that that is that information is provided um by charts that the Bailey group and other groups have um provided for us. Um so again I was saying short cycle assessments we don't wait until the benchmark we don't wait until the midterm we um formatively assess sometimes it's a oral aspect you know it might be just oral sometimes it's written so those things are very very important we give

044our scholars feedback immediately um and we monitor progress so again everything is data driven actionoriented and growth focused um our instructional focus priority standard and alignment PLC modeling and teachbacks. That is a goal that I want to get to. We haven't gotten to the teachbacks yet. We have had we sent a group of reading teachers um to a conference on Miss Mississippi G Coast in um December was December. So with that um not only do we want you to present information that you saw, but we want to see exemplars teachbacks. When you do that, what does that look like? Whether that's a video of it, uh whether that is modeling it in a PLC, we um that is a a goal that we are getting to small group instruction. Um high yield strategies, we are

045working very closely with Miss Duke who um is a colleague of Mr. uh Mr. Zach from MDE. Um, and scaffolding, working with scaffolding, guided practice, um, gradual release, all of those things are that are in our high quality instructional materials. She is working very closely with the teacher to ensure that they are getting that done. Um, formative assessments and again um, reflection and feedback. Um, our student goal setting, I've mentioned that before. We have growth celebrations and incentives. most recent rec recently had a pizza party for those students that did well on their benchmark. By well, they were they were either proficient or either they grew. So, even if you know they may have gotten a 25% or 10%, if they grew from a 1A to a 1B, that's growth. If they hit their growth

046goal, we want to celebrate that. Um, okay. Um, we are working on, to be very transparent, we're working on classroom champions. We had some snacks and classroom check-ins and teachers are going in. That's our SEAL that we're that we're using. The teachers have gone in. We figured out where our hangups were. So, we are going to be using our SEAL uh classroom champions for that that time in which students need to decompress during that time that students uh need to need to understand how to be, how to set a goal, what that means, how that makes them better. So, um those are the things that we are looking forward to. Those are next steps in in terms of focusing on the whole child. Okay. Our um final call to action. We want to use our

047data intentionally reteach with purpose and celebrate our growth. Um and of course, you know, we have the lofty goal of maintaining the 455 that summit earned this earned last year. So, we're going to continue along those same lines to keep that pride going. Um, continue to instill it in each other every day and the students every day. Work very very hard um to ensure that we maintain that that superb rate. Our speaking speaking of superb, our summit superlatives for the month of January um teacher of the month who grew oh my gosh, she grew significantly from first to the second. Um, and I'm so very proud of her. She works so hard day in and day out. She is what I put in the mind of a old school teacher in a new school body.

048She is just she is wonderful. She's wonderful. Um, the third grade team is a wonderful team. Um, so her name is Miss Monica Gardner. I can go on forever. She hold me down. Okay. Support staff of the month is Miss Jasmine Johnson. and I am so so so happy to have her on board. She works closely with the SPE teacher. Um, but not only that, she works with all the teachers to ensure that the SPE students are getting what they need. And I'm harassing her right now, but she needs to get certified. She needs to be certified. We're going to get her certified. But her name is Miss Jasmine Johnson again. All right. Our summit superlative students, first grade, Austin Tims. Second grade, Terrell Moore. Third grade, Giovani Lewis. Fourth grade, Denasia. >> Are there

049any questions? >> Dr. I just have one question. Yes, sir. >> If I'm hearing you correctly, >> when we talk about um skill deficiencies. >> Yes, sir. coming from particularly the third to the fourth grade. And I do know that um in the district we have um analytic um platform that we can use to assess that data. could do not um is that something that we use on a u earlier stage to to gauge that those with skill deficiencies um early on. >> Yeah. Yes sir. Absolutely. Now, you know, we do use I read um and that that's been used previously and we work with the just the breakdown of the benchmarks, but now in having um the equity analytics piece align directly to the test align directly to the score and we know exactly

050what we need to focus on in order for them to um hop to the next level. The skills that will give us the most bang for the buck. Yes, sir. That is an absolute great piece that uh we are weaving in that we see making a difference. Yes, sir. >> Okay. I kind of feel that that may be something that could really help get those skills early on. >> Yes, sir. Yes, sir. >> Well, my question is for Mr. Vick. Um because for the last several years the the kindergartens coming out of Higgins has pulled high. So I don't know whether the ball is being dropped once they come over to I summit. So we need to bridge that gap. We had the highest in the state like number two or three in the state

051coming and I'm not saying some I mean just the next level when they come to the next level and I also and this is me personally but like because of the grades that I can and and summit are the same that we have a collaboration that everybody is doing the same thing. So we need to the campuses needs to be if I go to summit those cuz for those kids when they leave summit and I can go in the unit. So we need to collaborate on some of the um the items so we can get clear on how to move. Like I said, that was something that's just mine. >> So, whatever we doing, >> and to that point regarding the um the the high score in which they're getting at Kennedy and then um

052you know, how they plan when they get to the elementary schools is the the rigor ramps up, you know, it ramps up. They're getting the skills that they need, but then we need we start focusing on applying application. Um, and it just digs a little deeper and you know I'm just, you know, we have to call the real the real. We know that co happened. We know that there are some social emotional pieces. That's why I am very excited that we do have all the kinks worked out so that we can get that social emotional piece. We have some social emotional pieces that um that play a factor in and that sometimes hinder learning that you know we have to you know that that plays a part into So, it goes for me learning my

053I'm just being very very um flat here learning my ABCs because I know they do so much more at Kennedy. Um then we move to first grade where we not only have to know that the A is a A, we have to know that that short A in that word makes this sound. Then we have to know that that word is drawing a mind movie and I need to be comprehending those words that I'm reading. So it you know we add a deep level of of rigor from kindergarten to first grade. I would it you all teach it and then they have to read on their own. You all teaching reading my hat goes off to every reading teacher in the world. It's not it's not an easy easy job. But anyway that that might

054be some of the concern that you have. But I do agree that working together and have a succinct plan moving forward working with our gifts and our deficiencies among across staffs particularly since we're serving the same age levels makes sense. Just makes sense. >> Is that all? >> Yes. All right, moving on to Higgins Middle School, which includes grades um fifth and sixth. Higgins overall for reading proficiency was at 39.1% growth overall 56.1% bottom quartile was 58.6% 6% math at for proficiency was 47.3% growth for all 69.4% bottom quartile 74.3% and notice that for fifth grade it adds science science is tested in grades fifth and eighth. So for science um and it's and it only um counts for proficiency. Their science was 66.2%. >> Okay. at Higgins in order for us to maintain where

055we are and push forward towards our goal. We focus on just good quality tier one instruction every single day all day. Um we have excellent teachers there who they are devoted and they are excellent at their craft. Um as I stated before with the reading standards when we look at our proficiency in reading we are not far from our goal of 45% in proficiency and once all standards have been covered for bench three we will be very close to progressing towards that goal. also our growth for all with the bottom cortile um we are looking to reach that to 70% and of course by us reaching those bottom standards reaching those standards that haven't been touched we will be reaching towards that um we're also adjusting our growth groups based upon our uh bench two

056data and so what we did we went into equity analytics and we looked at all students who have the potential for proficiency and we are adjusting what we do for them every day in the classroom and how they're being pulled by teachers. We also went in and looked at any of the students who may have been lower achieving a 1A or 1B, but we know that they can gain skills that could move them to another level, and we are making sure that those students are also being serviced by the interventionist. Our interventionist does do tier three pull outs three times a week um with the majority of those students. And also during growth groups within classrooms, we have our activity teachers that push in to make sure that those students are getting individualized um learning

057based upon their skill level. Um we also have spent quite a bit of time preparing for the afterchool program because we know that we're going to get a lot of bang for our buck with that program if it is utilized correctly and it's successful. So the first thing that AP Butler and I did was we went to equity analytics and we looked at all of our students who gave us zero growth points for bench two. And so then we went in and we ranked those students and we made our courses for ELA reading, science, and math based upon those students who gave zero growth points. We also went in and look at the students who were at proficiency, close to proficiency, or we knew that they could move to proficiency. We have data chats with

058those students every single day. Our interventionist, she has a little table set up in the cafeteria where she meets the students so that they know where they are. Um, some of the same things that I heard Kennedy, I mean, Summit and I can say, um, we make sure that those students know if I need two more questions to reach my next level, they know that. So, they're aware before they take any assessment what their actual goal is before they even sit down to take that assessment. Um, also for after school, we decided to go in and look at the power standards. So, power standards are those standards that are going to give us more bang. We can get students to achieve more if they master those standards. And so, we are basing our afterchool lesson

059plans um on the power standards for each subject. We also decided to take a hard look at our EL and our special education populations for after school. So we did target them and all of those students are invited to the program and that is so that they can get another dose of instruction individualized almost within that program. We know that those students especially with Higgins being in school improvement for special um services. We know that we can push those students if we have that one-on-one after school. So those t we looked at those and um all of those students did receive an invitation. We're also utilizing Lexia with our subgroups which is a program that has like an individualized plan especially with our EL students and we've had a lot of success utilizing that. We

060do have Miss Evelyn Williamson in our building who works with our EL population because we do have a subgroup. Um and the we also decided to regroup our teachers who pushed in when we started looking at how we got to where we are for bench two. We we were very strategic in who we put in what classroom. So we are going to go in and look at what teachers has strengths based upon the needs of the students in that class. So we have our activity teachers that they push into classrooms. So, we actually are going to go in and regroup what we've been doing because we have some teachers, even though I teach PE, I'm a strong math teacher. Um, Miss Carrie Brown, she's a math teacher. She teaches PE, but she's a math teacher.

061And so, she is being um utilized within our classrooms where our math proficiency is hitting a little bit below where we want it to be. Um and we are scheduling those teachers so that almost at any given time we will have two teachers within the classroom so that it's addressing behavior, it's addressing growth groups. Students almost have a an opportunity to get individualized learning. Any questions? Don't want to forget these beautiful special people. Our teacher of the month for January is one of our great math teachers, Miss Grace Moses. Um, Miss Grace Moses earned an A. When we look at her scores in equity analytics, she had an A for bench one and she maintained that A for bench two and we know that she's going to have that A for bench three. Our staff

062of the month is Miss Doris Turner who is our head custodian. Um, she is retiring this year and so she has a special place at Higgins because she makes the world go around. Our fifth grade student of the month is Mr. Air Burton. And our sixth grade student of the month is Cyro Eastston. Any questions. Moving on to Envision Junior High, which consists of grades seventh and eighth. We have their overall slide as they come. Reading proficiency 27% growth for all 37.3% bottom quartile 34%. Moving on to math proficiency is at 44.8% growth for all is at 48.3%. Bottom quartile 47.7% and 8th grade science is um in this box which is 46.2%. Um, we can look back at our plan for this year, our support plan, but to go into more details that I

063add Demon as well, we have our consultants and our team that'll be pulling in three times a week. For our seventh graders, the Dr. Harper team should be working with the seventh grade teachers as well as the students. For our eighth grade, it'll be Baylor consultants that we're working with those eighth grade teachers as well as the eighth grade students. One of our focuses going forward is look at working with our speed population. In the past, we have not gotten a lot of points concerning our speed, but working with them will put points on the table. So, it's our goal to get some growth there. We're also looking at co-eing and working with others to ensure that we're doing what we need to do and working with our consultants to help prepare for our boot

064camps that will be coming up soon. And looking at our PBIS, our teacher of the month is Michael Martin. Staff of the month is Garrett Dylan. Seventh grade students of the month are Sanser Gearhart and Nehemiah Casten. Eighth grade is Kayen Brster and Aaliyah Seals. Any questions? All right. And moving on to the high school. Definitely last but not least, um I will say that Mcome High School has not taken um their first assessment for this semester 2. They have a bench one assessment with Mastery Connect that they will be taking around the week of February 24th. So, she has some other data and some other things that she's going to talk about um in reference to the high school. Before she starts with this slide, I just want to make sure that the dates

065at the bottom, those are just release dates that um MDE reports the um the actual graduation rate per year. So, it's just the actual release date. Every year they release around January. um February and um the data is based off cohorts of course the four year the four-year cohorts with graduation for example the data that was released for 2026 that cohort started in 2021 and ended in 25 >> good evening I amicia Mason in the in principal distance hall by assistant. When you look at that data chart, it shows the graduation rate over the past four years and there are many factors that help both increase and decrease those numbers. But moving forward to increase our cohort, one thing that we are doing is encouraging attendance. And with encouraging attendance, we are also paying a

066lot of attention to how we um assign discipline to our students to try to maximize their attendance in class and make sure that they are able to get learning. We are offering more courses to give students greater access to classes that they need and want, which reduces scheduling conflicts and increases on time graduation. We are ensuring students complete credit recovery within the same school year they fell a course to prevent credit deficits from carrying over to the next year. We are strategically scheduling our students to provide consistent academic counseling support and behavior support to keep scholars on track for credits and graduation requirements. We are creating a cure closet at Mcome High School. And the care closet has both clothes and food because there are sometimes students come to school, they don't have what they

067need um for nutrition and they also don't have the uniform that they need. So to alleviate that the issue of sending them home because they're out of dress code or send them to ISS and trying to ensure that they have the nutrition that they need when they are going back and forth to school, we have a care closet that we are um actually well all the things came in. We will set that up um today and tomorrow. We are also providing academic and emotional safety nets during the school day. We're providing intervention periods, tutoring blocks, small group supports so students can receive the help they need without missing core instruction. If we continue to follow this plan, um we are hoping one other thing that we're doing, we're trying to make sure that all admins

068are visible in the building. um creating those relationships with students so they will want to come to school, they know the importance of them going there. And if we do that or when we do that, it will increase our proficiency level for firsttime testers. Um for our root testers, it will help them pass the test which all helps meet the graduation requirements. Um, Mcome High School participated in the 2025 fall map assessment and I am pleased to announce that we receive 69% proficiency in biology and 81% proficiency in algebra learning. >> All right. With um the students that retested, we had 75 English 2 retesters from last year. 43% of those students passed the English two test. And that's that's pretty good, too. Um, some announcements for Mcome High School. Miss Rene Reena Shadala received

069her state teacher of the year nomination. So, she will represent MCOME school district um at MBE. She got the nomination on Friday in April. Our teacher of the month is Miss Rel Quinn. Our students of the month is Deshaawn Long and Pat Gonzalez. And our staff of the month is Miss Angia Lee. Okay. I would am pleased to introduce a new member that will be coming on to the Mcome High School administrative team, Dr. White. Dr. White comes with an extensive background in leadership, counselor, and English language arts instruction. He will be a tremendous asset to our building and help increase our academic, social, and emotional achievement. His philosophy in education is it is not filling the pale but lighting the fire and I hope that you will join me in inviting Dr. white or

070>> I'd like to know what are we using for credit recovery? >> For credit recovery, we're using educator. >> Okay. Do we have a high percentage of students with having to have that >> recovery? I don't want to give the number right off, but it is a small amount of students in some areas, not in all areas, but in our ELA, we have the student number of students that don't credit basically because of the previous year or trying to get out early. um how we have it amended >> for credit recovery. >> Mhm. >> Um some of that was can be attributed to uh attendance and they're not coming to school to complete the assignments. And I failed to uh mention that we do have Harvard Educational Group that is coming in that are working

071with our retesters. So we hope to improve the graduation rate by giving them the support that they need. And we als they're also working with our first time um testers. So we help to increase that proficiency. Increase our proficiency. >> So would we be offering any type of um supplementary instruction for ELA for the for that uh English during the after school? >> Ours is done during the day um to to have we do it our second during the day. So they have we have four pull outs during the day where they are coming um twice a week to get receive the instruction from Harper consultant and then we're also using classes where as Mr. Wells mentioned it makes them where they are helping them grow in their skills. >> Thank you. I just want

072to commend y'all on the what you call it the health class. >> Care class. >> The care class. When I was young school, I went to that washing machines and dryers. So they wash kids clothes to I appreciate that and I hope if it if it if it's successful and we can duplicate that in other buildings like to help out. But um >> the washing machine is on the way. We don't know. Well, I was about to say I work at warehouse and y'all know where I work. We have a a program called grant and I sent Mr. Big so y'all can apply so y'all can get funding from warehouses and they will support. Thank you. and and team I also want to add that we also have a counselor consultant that's coming to work

073with Miss Nation as well as our high school counselor and the goal is to make certain we take a look at every one of our seniors every single one make certain they're in good shape and commencement then you're going to go back and take a look at scheduling Thank you for um listening to our benchmark 2 data overview from the lower elementary to the high school and we will be back before you soon once we finish um benchmark 3. Thank you and have a good evening. approve the minutes and approve the meeting. >> I have a motion by Miss Hall and a second by Miss Martin. Any questions or concerns? All in favor? I >> oppose. Next we have review and approval of financial statements. Do I have a motion? A financial statements. A second.

074I second Miss Martin's motion. I second. Any questions or concerns about financial statements? All in favor? I opposed. Can I have a motion for review and approval of CL? >> Do I have a second? >> Second. I have a motion by Miss Martin and a second by Miss Hall. Any questions or concerns? >> Dr. I need just for clarification there's uh um docket number It's for the um I believe it's the Okay, it's so docket number 847514. I need to know if those um are going to be for all school locations or just for one school. These are those um sensors. They're for all locations. >> And these are what Mr. >> These are vape bait detectors. >> Yes. Yes sir. Therefore 5 through 12 and the BNT. Um we have 38 devices that will

075be going in their bait detectors. They detect also any loud noises. They can tell you how many people are in the bathroom at any given time. They can tell you uh they have a low-level detection for Bluetooth and they can tell you who has a cell phone in the restroom. They they're quite exceptional as far as uh what it can detect. Of course, marijuana, tobacco, and it can tell the difference between all of those. So, it's very high-tech and I anticipated being we've had so many kids over the years get expelled because of vapes and and things of that sort. So, I see this as another deterrent, not necessarily catch people, but to deter people from uh doing those activities and arresting them. So, so how is the information collected? Is it sent to a

076central location so that administration can proceed? Yes, sir. It will be housed in our Milestone XProtect platform that we've had for many years. It goes along with our cameras as well. So these will be integrated into that milestone expert and it will also have alerts that it can send to administration and tell what type of alert it is. It'll say uh you know vape detected or it may say uh loud noise uh god forbid it can also uh detect gunshots. Um, and another added bonus to this is we have cameras outside just about every one of our restrooms, 512. Whenever that sensor goes off, it turns on that camera that is outside the bathroom and it will record whoever's coming out and going in. And so it you will actually be able to because of

077our camera setup pinpoint who that was in the restroom. Let's say they flush a vape down the toilet, which happens often. Um that will be uh we will be able to see who comes out after that. Thank you. I I guess um my main concern is is once we get the information and I'm looking at it as a parent because we get so many often times we get these things about um my child was not >> it was the other child >> they lying on my my child. So, how do we I mean, I guess that'll be a dayto-day policy put in place, but but what I'm saying is is hopefully this can kind of deter that and and kind of settle that that dialogue among parent, teacher, um um administrators and so forth. Maybe

078you can. >> Uh yes, sir. Dr. Really the goal is the goal is not to have to deal with these being situational because we want it to be a negative deterrence uh for students. Uh so but if something does happen and we predict that we going to have fewer situations now we'll be able to use our camera to see who's coming out once that alert goes off. Okay. But I I I just think from the number of students that probably not going to try this now would make it worth it and go anyway just the reduced number of public infraction that that we we should have. Uh as Mr. Brown pointed out particularly at the high school we did have issue with students flexing face that down commode and clocking to commode and and it

079creates additional time for our custodian and maintenance. So the goal is to act as a deterrent for the most part. I'm just looking at a point here. you know, even though we have it for for for a good cause, you know, sometimes the debate of it not being used for a good cause in that when something may like that happen. Maybe you may have more than one students that's involved and then the students uh that you who are responsible and then you have say three students and the only one was responsible but the other two is in the uh >> bathroom in the video and then you have a parent say well they should not be shown or is a method of privacy against those students just a big And I guess that's something that

080may have to be looked at with our attorney and make sure that we're following, you know, legal guidelines as far as practices. >> Just to clear a little bit of that up, there's absolutely no camera in the bathroom. It just detects motion and things like that. There's absolutely no camera. You can't identify u a student just from the Triton device. Um, it all it will tell you it's it's very neat. When they walk in, it puts a time stamp and there'll be a certain color >> and then it'll change to purple because they've been in there whatever administration they set for too long and it will change to red. So, you will be able to tell what student was in there too long and how when they exit. So, it's a very neat device. Okay,

081I got you. >> Yes. >> Actually says the fifth through the 12th grade in the B. Will we have anything uh to help us at the alternative school? Not at this time. We will eventually I hope that we will have the funds to add it throughout the district everywhere. >> And Miss Martin, I want you to keep in mind we we eventually going to add it to the alternative school, but the setup is a little different to alternative school for the supervision of usually one kid go at a time and come back. It's it's kind of different from the high school itself. Thank you. Yes, ma'am. >> More questions. Um, Mr. I have a question about the cell phone bills. We're going to discuss this. Um, the AG have not not the a state auditor

082had told us that we should not be spending funds on cell phone. I knew he was going to be back with us about um reducing the number of cell phones throughout the district. So, we won't be paying these bills for phones that we are not even using if that's the case. Um, can we have an update by next board or at least have them turned on by next month? >> Uh, yes ma'am. Uh, I had um Miss Hall and myself and Mr. Brown, we went through uh all of the phones that we have in the district. We're going through them now and see which one is not being utilized. Uh, I want you to speak to that a little bit where we at in this progress process right now. >> Yes, sir. Um, they've been

083deactivating the ones that are no longer in use. Um, so we don't have SRO's and one of the tendants tend. But it's um, we deactivated the ones that were no longer in use already. So would that be said on the next cell? >> I can't say that cuz depends on the building. >> You know, it depends on this deactivated last week. So the building Oh, yes ma'am. But I can't say for next month cuz how we just cut it off this last week. >> Any more questions? Um I have a couple questions. First one is uh claim dock 847534. It is for Apple 9 hospitality and it just shows reservation. Was that for an actual hotel reservation or do you know what what that was actually for? is not I'm looking forward to >> it

084is for Apple 9 Hospitality and the purposes say reservation. >> Um I'm thinking that's um for the comp. >> Okay. Can we >> um W9? That's what they have on the W9. >> They just have it set as reservation. No, >> I'm saying the vendor. >> Oh, okay. Sorry. >> Maybe in the purchase, can we just put like I guess the specific hotel next time so we'll know? >> Yes, ma'am. >> Okay, thank you. Second one is um it is a public um document. Just got some questions about you have a hidden both of them are running like $800 a month for disposal. So, is that paid off like by how much they give up or is it like a flat fish? >> Yes. Um, it's by how many times they run a week and

085uh how many dumpsters they have. Some of our larger boats have two dumpsters and so they run almost double what we are taking those um that our trash disposal. We're taking it out for bid um this year. All right, that's all my questions. >> Any more questions? >> All in favor? >> I oppose. At this time, do we have the report and presentation of the business of the superintendent? >> Report and presentation of the business of the superintendent. Are there any questions about report one through five? >> I just have one question. Um, >> no, that's not it. I'm sorry. >> The consent agenda item. >> Next, we have the consent agenda items one through five. Any questions or concerns? I have a question and this pos possibly this could be just a oversight on

086the out of state and overnight um this we have the VA club and it's saying out of state. It should just say um overnight. >> Yes, ma'am. Do I have a motion to approve the consent agenda item 1 through five? >> I have a motion by Mr. Hart, second by Miss Martin. All in favor? >> I oppose. >> Uh, next we have C the regular agenda number one, approval of policy revisions. >> Do I have a motion? I have a motion by Miss Martin, a second by Dr. Berts. Any questions or concerns? Question, Miss Martin or um policy BB CB, school board member visits to schools. The wording is not clear. paragraph. The second paragraph, the board is to visit schools in the district in their discretion in a body for the purpose of determining

087what can be done for the improvement of the school in a general way. My the wording needs to be one that that clearly states that we can go as a collective group or we can decide to visit schools by ourselves. And I I'm wondering uh Mr. Vic, when the when these things come to us from MSDA, how how do we help them with uh the wording in terms of making it clear for the reader to know that we can we can visit together or individually? >> Uh yes, ma'am. What they sent to us, um Mr. Gibb normally contact himself and Mr. Brown and we we discussed these uh Mr. ground up with him. Um, Miss Martin, but at the same time, any changes or revisions that need to be made, we are invited to do

088to do that. >> So, I have a question. So, in that paragraph in which Miss is referring to basically that's what improvements when we visit the buildings as a body, but the bottom part of it um says that we can let me back up because we got two board members. So each board member is required by law to visit within the school district when students are in the building for minimum of 8 hours. You can visit more if necessary, but you can if you feel it necessary, but minimum 8 hours within the school year to visit the buildings, but us as a body supposed to visit the building. and um we here at McCome they they waved that part during co that we didn't have to go as a group. So it's a two-part right

089here. So I think what Miss Martin is trying to say that it should be clear in the first part saying that for improvements of schools like facilities we go once in the body but at the bottom it also says that at our discretion to visit the school and time is available to us. So um I um today can we table this particular policy so we can clear the the wording up in it. Okay. >> Okay. >> So at this time can I have um A supplement motion is to table this policy until this big change to address the errors in it. Motion to table. >> I have a motion by Miss Har and a second by Dr. BS. Any more questions or concerns? Now it's only um section B in there is multiple. Let's say

090table that whole section that we won't be having um minutes issue until next month. All in favor? >> I oppose. Uh, number two, approval of 2526 McCome School District calendar revision. >> Do I have a motion? >> Second. >> I have a motion by Mr. Hart and a second by Miss Mart. Any questions or concerns? All in favor? I oppose. >> Number three, approval of facility use. Do >> I have a motion? I need a second. >> Second. >> I have a motion by Dr. Bur and a second by Miss Hoff. Any questions or concerns? All in favor? >> I oppose. >> Number four, approval of the grieving county. >> Do I have a motion? Second motion. >> I have a motion by Miss Martin and a second by Dr. Bur. Any questions or concerns?

091All in favor? I oppose. Uh number five, approval of person A new or certified. >> Do I have a motion? and second. >> I have a motion and a second. Any questions or concerns? >> All in favor? >> I oppose number six, approval of job prescriptions. >> Do I have a motion? >> I have a motion by Mr. Hall, second by Dr. Bur. Any questions or concerns? All in favor? >> I oppose. >> Number seven, approval of approval of administrative leave with paid due to closure. >> I second the motion. >> I have a motion by Dr. Bur, a second by Miss Martin. Any questions or concern? All in favor? >> I oppose. Number eight, approval of Mcome school district to screen the plan for further review. Do >> I have a motion? >> Second.

092>> I have a motion by Miss and a second by Miss Hall. Any questions or concerns? >> Dr. I understand that this is a review. understand that this is a review but in reviewing it if we have the opportunity as uh the governance board to have um input in the revisions how will we see it through >> uh yes sir you you will uh Dr. President that's a good question. At our next work s work session we're going to come together take a detailed look at the uh plan and see what provision that you think need to be made. Some of the things we know need to be made we already taken care of like some of the pictures need to be changed out and things of that nature. But as far as the language

093itself uh the board they have definitely input on what changes need to be made before we go to the final u revision draft. >> Okay. consider subscribing on as a as a governance team with the superintendent. And so I I think my thing is the best format, Mr. Vick, for you to be able to receive the concerns that we have. Would you like to have it emailed or get with you one on one about our concerns or >> um M let me contact uh you guys tomorrow. Okay. Any more questions about the strategic plan? All in favor? I oppose. Number nine, approval of settlement agreement. >> I need a motion. >> Second. >> I have a motion by Dr. Bur, second by Miss Hall. Any questions or concerns? All in favor? >> I oppose. Number

09410, approval of agreement with German. >> Do I have a motion? >> I have a motion by Dr. Bur, a second for Miss Hoffer. Any questions or concerns? >> I have a question. >> Yes, sir. >> Um, I'm just looking at some of the SC services. This has been a $15,000 lighter. There's not people in the school and it's some area that provides some of these services. >> Um, this this was a uh something that the federal program director uh Miss Wood wanted to move forward with. I'm going to let her address this. Uh, Mr. Hart. Thank you first of all for the question. I do agree that we do our expertise within the district but it's also good to have an outside look in some of the areas. We also know that we have

095200 new principles in our secondary role and this particular division has expertise in that area. He has served for over 30 years in um secondary and district level administrator position. So we'll be supporting those principles and looking at what are the procedures that will happen in their buildings have a good relationship with students but also how we bring outside mentors. We've had mentors who volunteer uh to come in. We want to make sure that we iterate uh we reinstate that particular um activity with our students. We know that we have a lot of violence among our students not just uh at school but most importantly in the community. So, we want to merge our community with our schools to make sure we're uplifting our children to make better choices. We want to make sure that

096we're increasing our self worth and their self-esteem and their conflict resolution. But we also want our leaders to know how to do that, how to build the climate and our culturally embrace our children, the concerns that they have. And then as new leaders, how do we ensure that you're not just um reacting and how do we be proactive and make sure that we have activities within our schools, within our classrooms that are really trying to make better decisions. >> This is I believe what it is. This is a 50-day contract. This is through the end of the summer up to the June 30th because in there there's professional development, there's classroom management, uh there's going to be some co-observing with administrators, there will be some looking at areas of concern um particularly maybe times a

097day or spots of the school. And again, yes, we do have expertise within the district, but we also want to make sure that we're doing all that we can with the expertise in the district. some of these things to still happen. Um with the expertise in our community, we have children involved in crime. Uh just last week, one of the tech teachers said that there have been five children that have come through tech and we are now online. I say since we're on Facebook because of their activities, we encourage students school is the safest place they can be. And so as adults then we want to ensure that we build our capacity to recognize things to create things. asking is this going to give somebody without having so much >> I appreciate that and that's

098every contract we have with consulting they are here to build capacity even when we look at academic instruction if they're coming in even to work specifically with students that model teachers So every contract that we have forademic reasons, social and emotional reasons, we they're bringing those person in reality in addition to what those contractors got on the job in our district. >> Any more questions? >> Thank you. >> Any more questions? All in favor? I oppose. >> Number 11, approve a after school pay scale. >> Do I have a motion? >> Second motion. >> I have a motion by Mr. Hart and a second by Miss Martin. Any questions or concerns? All in favor? I oppose. Number 12, approval of thrashing change order. >> Change. >> Do I have a second? >> Second. >> I

099have a motion and a second. Any questions or concerns? >> Yes, sir. will be gated and it's going to ensure that the entire campus not just the new facility as well as the whole campus is actually gated. >> How will the gate have it own security? >> Yes. Are you asking would it be manual or automatic? >> Mr. Brown, can you speak to that? >> Uh the two gates for car pickup and drop off will be automated. you'll have to have a code to open those up. So, they'll open them in the morning and close them as soon as uh all the car riders are there. Anybody who arrives after that, we'll have to go to the front of the building, of course, and sign in. The other gates um in between, if you look

100at that, those red uh lines there, those are also gates in between the buildings. Now, those are manual. They they will be locked and actually have a lock on them, but you will have to use a key to get in those. Um, of course, the front door of the new facility, it'll be buzzing, you know, with uh, you know, like a little stripe that's automatic. And this does ensure that the entire campus is secured. In some cases, we use the building itself to secure it because we just went in between them with the wall or thrash is going in between with the wall where the uh, fence is there. So, have a control office >> a controller for you that we have control. >> Let me check. Let me check on that if the automated

101gates will be able to do that. Just I don't want to speak out of turn and tell you that we do have that. Exactly. We don't. And I'm saying that came up like we had before shut the campus down all at once and we should be able to have some type of control. >> This I I just be honest with you. This change order is to me just a bad it's just a bad business deal. We have sat here and they said that our campus was going to be on the first two orders and we talked about this. They came before the board. They said the campus will be enclosed. You know, so a change order to me and maybe this a question for attorney David. We was told on multiple occasions in our original

102order, okay, that the gates will be included. So, you know, this late in the game for us didn't say, "Oh, no. We we didn't say that." I mean, we got our meetings recorded. I mean, so I'm I'm I'm I'm just this right here. Miss Dylan. Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but what I think was when they said that the campus was covered, they was talking about the new campus, the new summit campus, where we were actually meeting the whole entire campus. So, that's from my understanding there was some miscommunication there. I'm out of here. Well, I know we have to spend this money by a certain amount of time in order for us to at the end of the day. I still stand on the information that we got and the booklet that we

103had. It was the board understand and Mr. Big is coming in on the back end that the whole campus will be enclosed. I pray that if thrash um find out later that they should have funded this that they should reimburse us because that's what we were told so point. We were told that the whole building the whole summit not the new building and we keep playing these back and for games. That's why we take notes. That's why we talk about it and we done revisit this two three times and they keep saying no and and I mean either either it is or it ain't. This is what they do. Construction is what they do. So they know whether or not they told us originally and then they also said that they was going to put

10410% back just in case something came up. But this is something that should have been covered in the original contract. That's just my that's just my belief in it. Now, Miss Dylan, we do have a contingency fund for some of this to go to actually come from that was put back. Uh, is that is that what you are referring to? You want to speak to the contingency, Mr. Brown, because we do have that available? Yes, there's about at our last count, our last meeting, there's about 30,000 left in the contingency fund. We're having to get this approved because that's all that's left in the fund. So, we need this approval in order to if we have to spend additional funds out of district to to pay for this. Um, we had some funds come in

105from an insurance claim earlier this year that may be able to help with that, may not. Uh, but it went into our general fund, so it's it's in there, but it wasn't necessarily earmarked for this project. I don't have any more questions. >> So is the 30,000 out of this total sum or pull up the 30,000 and then subtract from the >> it will be subtracted from sum. So if nothing else, >> so would it be about 67,000? >> Any more questions? All in favor? Oppose? Nay. Number 13, approval of 16 session lease transfer. >> 16 section transfer. Second. >> I have a motion by Miss Martin and a second by Mr. Hart. Any questions or concerns? All in favor? I oppose. Number 14, personnel recommendations. >> I have a motion by Miss Martin and

106a second by Dr. Bur. Any questions or concerns? >> Wait, wait. If you have a question and it's about a particular person, you would have to go into executive session. If it's about the whole without talking about one individual person, you can talk about that. So if there's something that we need to go into executive session, we need to move into executive session. Okay. At this time before we go into personnel recommendation number two, I'mma step out and give the floor to Miss Martin. with personnel recommendations and the point being made that the first portion of this need to go into executive session. Attorney Gay, am I right in saying that we a motion for um going into executive session? Okay. So, what we're doing at this time is going to the second portion of

107personnel recommendations. I need a motion and a second. It's been Motion by Dr. Brooks and seconded by Miss Harper. All in favor or are there any questions? Questions or concerns? All in favor? Oh, hold up. Question Harper. I think >> cuz I was thinking that the second >> we're on on part two the >> number 15 is where we are and I was seeing that there was only one person on there. So is that So, are we ready ready to vote? All in favor? >> I oppose. Okay. And now we need a motion for determining whether or not we're we'll go into executive session. >> Don't miss Dylan have to come back since she's the president. Miss Dylan has to come back and do Can I have a closed determination, a motion to go into

108closed determination on whether or not to executive session, please? Second motion. >> I have a motion by Dr. Mr. Hart and second by Miss Martin. All in favor? I >> oppose. Thank you. We was in executive session. During executive session, we approve personnel and we um discuss a legal matter. Can I have a motion to adjurnn for me, please? >> So move. >> Second. >> I have a motion and a second. All in favor? >> I thank you, Dr.
