001to run across just a big emphasis this year on parental engagement instead of parental involvement. So we have such a wonderful community here and they want to be involved and we have a lot that want to be engaged. They want to be here. They want to work with children. They want to welcome children. This is just one example. We've done we've established dads at the door. So every Tuesday we have dads that are here that they will come and give high fives. They're back at the buses welcoming students. They're also in the cafeteria opening things. Um and this was great actually an idea that was within our district. I think Northeast Elementary started this and it was just something I thought we needed here because we have so many people who want to be here

002and be a part of our community during the school day. >> Hello and we are headed to lunch. Remember if you will >> it did. So we were recognized as a blue ribbon school of excellence as a lighthouse school. Um it was such a rigorous prog process that we went through. Um but it looks at nine different indicators that in involve family engagement that involves teaching and learning. It is your culture and your climate of the school. So it's not just based off of state test scores which we did well but that's not at the core of what this award is about. It is about our community. how Max is facing. >> Okay, miss night. >> You know, if you were to say that it is perfect all the time, absolutely not. But we are

003a family that we want to be together, we want to grow together, whether it's within our relationships with each other, our relationships with our students. We want to do well, we want to be here. And that's the culture that we're trying to set here is a place that people want to come to work and be a part of this family. We have a community of excellence uh that supports every school across this district. Uh we have a lot of tremendous amount of community buy in. Uh that buyin really helps us to achieve academic excellence because everybody's on the same page. just uh reaffirms uh what I know is we have a great school district, great schools, great staff, administration, and I'm just proud of our school. You know, it's great to come out to West

004Zone and see the schools working together. >> Well, our teacher our teacher We've got some really great things in place. Uh great people and uh great communities that support our schools. So, I feel very good about where we are and where we're headed. Thank you.
