again. Um the portal opens on January 21st, 2026 and anybody can um donate or do a donation up to 200,000 for the tax year. And this year for statewide um the maximum amount that can be donated statewide is 7,200,000. I just wanted to bring that to your attention in case you had any questions um or if anybody had asked you about that. But um yeah, so that's January 21st that opens. >> Thank you, sir. 004>> Approval of the PAR for December 15th, 2025. Miss Ally. >> Madame Chair, members of the board, I did pass out a paper copy of an amended um PAR since uh um basically today. Um and that was just based on paperwork noted there. Um so I am asking for approval of one leave of absence under certified personnel one retirement under classified that is where I'm noting the amendment by striking through it under appointments for the classified I am asking for the approval of four the resignation of three the inactive removal of one um for supplemental I'm asking for approval of 31 appointments one leave of absence and five resignations. I'd appreciate your support. >> I have a motion from trustees. >> So moved. >> Is there a second? >> Second. >> It has been moved
and seconded. Do trustees have any questions of Miss Ally regarding the FAR? Hearing none. All those in favor, please say I. >> I. >> All those opposed. Approval of substitute teacher proposal. Miss Jonard. Madame Chairman, members of the board, I um uh respectfully request uh the board approve the uh proposal uh which is designed to strengthen the staffing and flexibility um and maintain the operational stability across all schools for the um to address the shortage of substitute teachers. Um, included in the proposal is to increase teacher substitute pay beginning January 5th from with substitute teachers earning a dollar $150 per day. Non-certified substitutes $125 per day. Uh, and beginning January 5th through June 5th, January 5th of 26 through June 5th of 26, the substitute teachers will receive an additional 200 for every 20 days
worked to be paid out at the end of the school year. Um, also this the second part of the proposal is to increase the teacher prep coverage um to $34 beginning January 5th. Um and then also um including in that is to receive uh retroactive pay for prep coverage that um was uh paid out from August 28th through the 19th uh of 2025, December of 19, 2025. Um the third part of that proposal is that the calendar committee will again look at our PI days and our non-instructional days at specific times throughout the year to minimize the need of substitutes during periods of high demand. Um caused by a variety of districtwide events and statewide events. Um so that's a really key part of the proposal. Another really important part of the proposal is is
that each school we we will create and implement a plan to ensure the substitute teachers are actively welcomed, provided with clear expectations, given access to necessary resources, and supported by staff throughout their assignment. And last but not least, um the um and that will be all those plans will be ready by February 1st of 2026. And then last but not least, our SA safety and security team committee will uh meet to develop a plan for each school specifying conditions under which remote learning will be implemented in response to teacher absences. We did that during CO and we have each school was a little bit different uh because of its size and so we're going to go back and look at the structure that we did during CO and then um just um revise that based
on how we how we did that with CO. So we kind of we kind of have a structure in place but we want to look at it again and that that plan will be ready for February 18th. Um, but that is the gist of the plan and I'm asking for um approval of that plan. >> Motion to approve. >> So moved. >> Is there a second? >> Second. >> It has been moved and seconded. Do trustees have any questions of Miss Jonart regarding the approval of the substitute teacher proposal? Hearing none. All those in favor, please say I. >> I. All those opposed. Moving on to the approval of theou between BSD1 and the BTU local 33 322. Madame Chairman, members of the board, in order to enact this proposal that was just proposed, um
we I asking you to enter into anou with the but school district with between but school district and the teachers union noting the change in um the substitute pay as well as the prep coverage pay. >> Motion from trustees. Is there a second? >> Second. It has been moved and seconded. Do trustees have any questions for Miss Jernard regarding theou between but school district and the BU teachers union local? Hearing none. All those in favor please say I. >> I. >> All those opposed. Motion passes. Approval to go to bid for network related items. Miss Jonard. >> Madam chairman, members of the board. Um for -ay purposes we have to bid um you know pays a portion of our category 2 costs which are basically equipment like routers and switches and some uh network infrastructure
and um we have a new round of -ate um category 2 funds that will be available um but in order to do that we have to first meet all the bid requirements and Then um that has to get approved by the ERATE and then um and if we do get EATE on these costs, what happens is that um they give up um we get an 80% discount on the costs and we just have to pay 20% which is which is a huge huge savings to the district. So what we'd like to do is I'd like to ask for approval just to go to bid. We're not doing anything only that we go to bid on those network related items that are listed there including the network firewalls uh network switches um um the closet the
network closets at but high you know we just updated the fiber at that high school and so now we need to do some reconnections of the closets and put um uh home runs back to the to those fiber um runs Um uh also would like to do some more wiring for the labs that are in the in the high school. Um uh um our Cisco routers. We have maintenance agreements which we believe that are also um irradable uh eligible for monies. And then um UPS uninterrupted um power supplies um that we have to have on all of our switches and routers and uh we need to update those. So again, those are um eligible for -ate. So, we would um ask for your permission just to go to go to bid um and see what
those costs are and then whatever we based upon our um approval for -age then we would get approval to um to go out and purchase those from you. >> Motion from trustees. >> I move. >> Is there a second? >> Second. >> It has been moved and seconded. Do trustees have any questions, Miss Jonart, regarding the approval to go to bid for network items? Hearing none. All those in favor, please say I. >> I. All those opposed. Motion passes. Approval of the multi-dist agreement for the formation of the Bridged or Bridge Health Alliance Trust. Miss Jonard. >> Madam Chairman, members of the board, this is two of our um required agreements. Um I'm bringing this forward on behalf of the BU teachers union. They have um they uh have uh decided that they would like
to join the the multidist trust bridged health alliance trust and the first one of approval would be for the agreement for the formation of that trust and I need uh we need board approval for that. I [clears throat] >> thank you. Motion from trustees. >> So moved. >> Is there a second? >> It has been moved and seconded. Do trustees have any questions for M. Jonart regarding the multidist agreement with Bridge Alliance Trust? >> Hearing none. All those in favor, please say I. >> I. >> All those opposed. Motion passes. Approval of the participation agreement with Bridge Health Alliance and BSD1. Miss Jonard. Madame Chairman, members of the board, this is the participation agreement allowing um the BU teachers union to participate in that bridged health alliance trust. >> Motion from trustees. >> Is there
a second? >> Has been moved and seconded. Do trustees have any questions to Miss Jon regarding the participation agreement? >> Hearing none. All those in favor, please say I. I >> I >> All those opposed? Motion passes. Approve. >> Thank you. I will um thank you very much. I will get this these agreements back to the um teachers union because they have to have those agreements to bridged by December 19th. So I appreciate your approval. >> Thank you ma'am. Madam chair, members of the board, I'm asking your approval for the winter community education classes um that will be held at Webster Garfield and at Pew High School. >> Beginning when? >> January, let me see something 26. >> Thank you. >> Motion from trustees.
>> So moved. >> Is there a second? >> Second. >> It has been moved and seconded. Do trustees have any questions of Miss Johnson regarding the winter adult basic education program? Hearing none. All those in favor, please say I. >> I. >> All those opposed. Motion passes. At this time, we would like to adjourn the meeting. >> Is there a second? Second. Been moved and seconded to adjourn the meeting of the B teachers union. All those in favor, please say I. I. I. I. What? What >> said teachers? >> Oh, I'm sorry. I probably did.
