Okay. Uh, >> let's bring this meeting to order. Please stand for the pledge of >> allegiance. I aliance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Thank you all for being here tonight. We do have a few guests. We have uh Tyler Bush with Mckin Street and Bridget I can't remember her last name. >> Extramm >> with DA Davidson. And we'll get to them here briefly. So with that, this is the point in the meeting for comments on matters not already on the agenda. Comments on agenda items will be accepted when that item comes up during the meeting. And interested persons may also submit views in written form to the clerk or superintendent prior to
the meeting. And those comments will be brought to the attention of the board during the meeting. I see we have one from uh Mr. Parker. >> Yes, it's in your executive area in the board docks. just to be shared with us or to be read. >> That's up to Steve. [clears throat] You have to log in. Thanks. I'll log down and see if Mr. Parker, did you want this read aloud or was this for the board to read? >> Uh, it doesn't need to be read aloud. Okay. >> Should you get a breakfast? >> Yeah. [clears throat] Yes. You're reading I choose to smile. [snorts] [clears throat] There you go. >> [clears throat] >> Good. Good. >> All right. >> What's that? >> Steve, I have something I want to say for public comment. >>
Absolutely. Go right ahead. >> Okay. I just want to bring it to the everyone's attention that this community has essentially ran out for coaches who worked in this district. Parent involvement is necessary, but it when it becomes personal and a detriment to the kids, it is counterproductive. The social media rants, the printouts, the accusations, the constant gossip and slander are all ineffective. And what does it accomplish? Nothing. Sports are an important part of our community and can help build our kids morals and sense of teamwork. But when they see adults bullying the coaches, the people that they are supposed to have respect for and look up to, what does that teach them? That this behavior is acceptable, and that all they have to do is throw a big enough fit and they get anything they
think they're entitled to. Since I've been on the board, I have watched some pretty disgusting behavior from parents and community members when it comes to hiring coaches. Our coaching staff give up their time with their families to coach yours and this is the kind of thank you they get. I'm surprised we have even have anyone apply to be a coach in our district at this point. We spend more time in this district dealing with coaching than we do with academics and it is because of the parents. I am embarrassed of this entire situation. It is time that we do better. It is time the coaching staff is supported by this board as they deserve to be. It is time we stand behind them. I would invite everyone to look at their behavior and ask themselves
if this is in the best interest of all kids or if this is personal before they bring an issue to the district. I know everyone in this community has a passion for sports as do I. But this is getting out of hand and we need to stop. Thanks. >> Thank you. >> Any other public comment [clears throat] >> that we'll move on to new business 5.01 the resignation for your uh [clears throat] information. I want to thank Owen for stepping up when we didn't have a coach absolutely position and he >> stuck in there. I know again through some hard parent situations, but I >> appreciate him being there for the kids when nobody else was. >> And Lucas and Trent and all them. >> Yes. His whole staff. >> Yes. >> Yeah. >> And
the folks that brought all those kids down from the break. >> Yeah. >> That was great. >> So, yes. 5.02. >> All right. I would like to recommend for the CHS head boys basketball coach Roxanna Wilson. >> I move the Pster Public Schools Board of Trustees approves Roxanna Wilson, CHS head boys basketball coach for the 2526 school year. Second. I have a motion and a second. Do I have any public comment on this agenda item? >> I'd like to congratulate the board and administration for coming up with a quality candidate such as Roxy Wilson for a basketball coach. She's got a proven record. Uh she works really well with basketball fundamentals. And as an an experienced coach, I I've watched her for years, she does some defensive things that even though I've learned defensive things
from Hall of Famers, she uh she's got her own twist. And I and I think that u I just want to let you know she had my full support. I uh I think your words, by the way, I don't see me laughing. I I >> I did not I was pretty intent on trying to not lose my spot. >> Well, a lot of us get pretty riled up about basketball and I love the game and I love the community aspect and stuff and so I really appreciate your words and and anyway, let's let's get behind her. You guys, she's in a she's in a she stepped up. I mean, holy smokes. You couldn't have got a better Well, it wasn't even last minute, was it? I think it was after the last minute, wasn't it?
Uh, so congratulations and and as a basketball coach, I got to say, you're in a conference this year that may have three top 10 boys basketball teams. We better really get behind them big time. Throwing under the bus and all that stuff, just Coast, it doesn't work. Coast strip is a great town, you guys, with wonderful people and uh we've got some pretty good kids. So anyway, my full support uh and thank you very much. >> Thank you, Mr. Porter. >> Anything else? >> Any further board? >> Yes, just that as you know, Roxy's a former employee of the district. She's a former head coach. She's been volunteering these last four days to lead the boys program. Uh like Mr. Parker said, I think she's a quality person and candidate. that haven't known her for
very long, but she's somebody that I would want to coach my sons or my daughter. So there you go. Thank you. >> With that, I'll move to the vote. Francis, >> hi. >> Sabrina, >> hi. >> Angie, >> I All right. 5.03. We have a revision with the uh copers and printers. Um, [snorts] it wasn't much, but it was enough that we needed to uh bring it back to the board. >> So, >> can I just say thank you everybody for those nice words. Thank you. >> Um, I will ship those boys into shape. [laughter] >> Thanks, Rosie. [clears throat] Do we need an explanation or >> I think it's all right there in front of you. It was just calculation. >> 300 bucks a month. >> How can they increase it when they already
gave us a a contract or or provided us with that? [clears throat] >> So, well, there the provider is asking for an increase. >> Oh, they're asking for it. >> Yeah. So, so you approved the one price and uh the week later the salesman called me and said he discovered the mistake uh that he had made in the proposal and that the the HP classroom printer prices um had changed and he didn't catch that before he submitted the proposal. So, you guys approved the one price and they're now saying, "Can you increase that to cover the >> And if we say no, it's already been approved by our board." >> If you say no, I'd have to go back to the sales company and find out what they want to do. It could be that
we can't get the printer that we wanted that was quoted to us because of the cost. Um, could be that they just eat the cost and give it to us anyways. But right now they're at the point of asking if it could be increased. So that's why it came back to the board if you're willing to do that. >> That was a five-year right. >> Yes. >> I just [clears throat] feel like it was kind of a an error on their part. They should have really looked at that before they brought it to us and then we approved it and [clears throat] now they're like, "Oh, wait. Actually, that's just my opinion. I feel like they should have they should have caught that before they brought it to us. That's just good. >> I agree.
But I think if they're a small company, they probably had to bring it back to us. I don't know. That's how I feel. But >> feel like they're trying to rip us off. >> No. Um, this this price matches what the competitor priced for that same model. I thought we were just getting a really good deal from him looking at the [laughter] cost. He comes back and said, "Uh, shoot. I I had that price wrong." So, what So, what they're asking for right now matches with the >> But this contract was already more expensive than the previous contract. >> So, now it's going to be even more expensive. [laughter] >> 18K a year. and the the original two proposals for both companies. This contract as as as what you voted on at the last meeting
was just a few hundred less than um Dex imaging. Dex imaging brought the massive reduction at the board meeting before you voted the last time. So, the original proposals, Kelly create was still winning by $300 [clears throat] per month. But it turns out it's because they had um a price, which had they caught that, they would have matched the same and it probably been just about the same price as Dex. >> We were, if I remember right, we were more interested in their customer service. >> Yes, we were, but >> and everything else we're getting. So, >> so that's $18,000 a year. >> Yes. three years >> 18,000 over five >> and it's $300 a month increase. >> So it's not $18,000 times five. >> No, it's $300 per month for 60 month term. >>
I was thinking it was 90,000. >> That's what I was think. [laughter] That's what I have. I'm like, okay, that's a >> I was like $90,000 is a lot. >> No, that's $18,000. So the previous base >> over the five years. >> The previous base was 24. The new will be 27, >> right? >> Yeah. Okay. >> So 3600 a year. >> Okay. >> Yeah. 300. Yeah. >> 3,600 a year increase. >> Okay. >> Yeah. 90,000 was looking a bit [laughter] >> Yeah. >> I was I was I was I think everybody >> I was right there with you. Whoa. So okay. having a little bit of [laughter] >> That's a little bit of a mess. >> That's a big mess. >> Okay. >> I'm okay with that. >> Okay. [laughter] There you go. >>
Good to go. >> Yeah. >> Okay. I move the Cole Public Schools Board of Trustees approves the revised 5-year contract lease agreement with Kelly Create for copers and print printers as presented. >> Second. >> Okay. Motion second. Any public comment on this? Any further board? >> Francis. >> Hi, >> Sabrina. >> Hi, >> Angie. >> Hi, >> Jeff. >> Hi. [snorts] Thank you. All right. And with that, >> Mr. Bush. >> You have the floor. >> I to be honest with you, I'd like to hear if if if Bridget could go. It's almost a combined like I I'm going to play I'm going to look at her timeline that she's going to present and I can you know comment during or at the end? Probably just at the end if that's okay. I mean switching
the agenda but >> it's fine with me. >> Okay. >> Do we Do you want that on? >> I think Bridget has that presentation. I don't know if if she's going to she's going to be remote, >> I believe. Yep. >> Yep. Do we have Oh, we have something on there. >> Yeah, we have. >> Do you want to put it on there? >> Um, if everybody would like to see it, that's fine. Yes. >> Because other than that, it's only Well, we have to use our laptops, but >> Yes. It's just these um PDFs. >> Yep. Yep. >> Yeah. That red button on the left. I might have to guide you or Scott uh through caffing on the screen. Just tap the screen to get to the next page and then screen sharing tile.
Thank you very much. That should be all I need. Scott, can you tap the not now option? >> Thank you. It looks like let's see. Bridget is sharing her screen. If you'd like to see that and I'll pull up the other documents. That's not going to share. Okay, I'll pull up the other documents. [clears throat] going. Okay, I have them in order from left to right as they're posted top to bottom on. [laughter] So, just let me know what you'd like to see, >> I guess. The floor is yours and Bridget. >> Okay, great. >> Hi everybody. Hi everybody. >> Yes. >> Okay, fantastic. Well, congratulations again on your bond election. We are moving ahead on working on the things that you guys need to lock interest rates and issue the bonds. And uh tonight
we have two resolutions to adopt. Basically the vote with the last meeting you can move ahead move ahead that we'll be working on working. >> And so the resolution that pass the bond election bond election on the time that you would have December 20th or anybody election before we can move ahead. >> Is that um heard from anyone? >> No. >> Okay. Fantastic. >> Fantastic. So we then went ahead after December 20th and kind of all the steps necessary to walk and issue. And so we're getting hold on just a second. Sorry. [clears throat] >> Is there a little feedback on your end? >> Yeah. I'm gonna see if I can make it stay on that speaker. >> Okay. So, let me try this again. Okay. There we go. Don't share the audio. >> Okay.
Give it another try. a little better at this time. >> Yes. >> Oh, good. I heard it on my end. I just thought it was it was me hearing the echo. So, um yeah. So, we are uh really feeling great about where we are. Uh the official statement uh which is a pretty long uh document. It'll include your audit. Here's a copy of it. Um it's just in draft form, but it goes through um you know your your tenure payment schedule. It will walk through things like um you know the sources and uses of funds of the schedule and that's something we'll we'll have Tyler talk about a little bit here. Um time schedule for his projects that that you're moving ahead on. Um a lot of information background information on Montana funding of schools.
We're going to get a bond credit rating which will help us keep the interest rate low. So, we just issued um part of Helena School's bonds on their on their big project last Thursday. They did 30 30 million in the elementary and 130 million in the high school and they locked it just around 4.2%. Your rates are going to be lower because you're only doing a 10-year term, which was was great um planning for you. Um it'll show you guys will have somewhere in the 3.8% 8% rate range, which will um you'll be good great news for uh the tax levies that'll go on the tax roles for the next uh 10 years. These bonds are tax exempt bonds. So, the interest income to people that buy these bonds is it's exempt from both state
and federal income tax. So, it's a subsidy really that the that the districts qualify for. So, um you know, that's great news. in in our document that I'm kind of scrolling through, you can see such things as like your tax collection history and tax levy trends. Um, you know, here's a list of your your major taxpayers. You can see Northwestern Energy 28%, Puget Sound 18%, A Vista 15%, Portland General Electric 11, Pacific Core. So, all the way down your top 10 taxpayers pay 95%. This is all things we talked about before, but just as a reminder, pay 95% uh of your taxes. And so, um, you know, that's just information that we'll put together. we'll get out to the the rating agency, the credit analysis um of the district, and that'll help keep our rates
low because when we go to offer these bonds, and we're planning on, you know, it's kind of an awkward time because of the holidays, so we're really freed up on December 20th, um you know, once the 60-day window is over to contest the election. Um, but we're we're really not able to um, you know, we've got to then go through the rating process, which is a three-week process getting that credit underlying credit rating. We have to go uh, we we send the information out to local banks. We'll put advertisements in the local paper. Um, people can buy a bond if they're interested in getting set up to do so. Um, the bonds are going to be sold in $5,000 increments, so individuals can buy a bond, banks can purchase the bond. we'll get that out
to local investors and then also statewide and then and then some nationwide players too. So, um lots of people will have an opportunity. We're looking at um if we're moving ahead as kind of as quickly as possible once that December 20th date hits then we can get all those other um you know steps done. We're looking at maybe offering uh locking interest rates around February 3. And so the main thing is, you know, we'll be reporting at the next board meetings every time just kind of where we are, giving you updated documents. Um we just need to today form the bond finance committee which again is typically um you know the board chair, the superintendent, the business manager, and one other board member if if we can get someone interested in doing that. And then
on this time schedule, the green highlights are the dates when we'd have a bond committee meeting. And none of them are longer than an hour. Um, but it would be somewhere around, you know, let's say middle of December. December 18th is just the date I picked. Um, first part of January. January 8th is the date I picked. And then around January 16th. And then we have a couple meetings in a row. January 29th and February 3rd. And then um those are the four those are the five meetings I guess. One, two, three, four, five. Yeah, five meetings in total. And they're all about an hour or less. And then um the board would adopt a final buzz board for bond resolution on February 9th. And then we'd close the bonds on February 18th. And so
a couple of things um in the packet. Um, you know, I included this uh the market information and interest rates have mostly been, you know, coming down fairly favorable. We're going to have another Fed meeting here in Jan or in Feb in December to see where uh kind of the current uh rates are uh indications of rate trends, but like I said, we're looking at probably locking in at around the 3.8% range based on what happened happened last week for um Helena schools. And then uh once we lock interest rates, you're going to receive bond proceeds plus bond premium. And we've talked a little bit about bond premium, but we're estimating, and that's one thing Tyler will be interested in knowing, we're estimating you'd have about 250,000 in the elementary and about 650,000 in the
high school for about 890,000 or just under 900,000. So in addition to the principal amount of the bonds and the principal amounts are 3,465 and 8,915,000 you would get in addition to that the bond premium. So for all the projects we're looking at plus the bond premium at about 13,280. So you're going to invest the 13,280 at closing. And if you go back to this time schedule that would be on or about February 18th. And so once we put those monies into the to the bank um the bank that you guys work with the county um that those monies will earn interest and be used for the project as well. Um and I don't know Tyler uh Tyler what is your I what are your thoughts on how quickly the bond proceeds are going to
be spent? >> Well it kind of goes into what I was going to talk about was with regards to committing or going into contract. Um but I can establish a schedule of values um to finalize the you know the permit drawings and I I can work with the school district if if the bonds if the school has money basically at the end of February my first draw wouldn't be until March. >> So you'd have a month at least and then again it's not like you're going to pay me you're going to pay me as percent complete as I've identified a schedule of values. So you're going to start to pay me on a monthly draw. you know, I'll submit to you a pay application by the 20th of the month and then you'll review that
and then you'll approve it at your last board meeting and you'll you'll you know, you've got 30 days to pay on that each monthly invoice. So, my first draw would not be until March. >> And and Tyler, how long is a project how long do you think what would be the completion dates and your best guess? >> Two years. We would be we would be done by you know the the school year in I screw it up basically the second you know September 1st 27th. >> Okay. And so for us to issue bonds we're we're in great shape. So there's there's two benchmarks that the IRS requires and the IRS weighs in on all of this because they're giving you that subsidized low rate. So they just don't want schools to issue bonds only to
earn all those investment earnings which are are pretty favorable right now. And you can earn your since your bonds are under 15 million. The IRS says that you can earn there isn't a cap to how much you can earn. So that's good news because there is a cap for a lot of other bonds. But in your case you can earn um you know right now STIP is paying the state short-term pool is paying a little over 4%. And so you can earn all of that. So, if you were to invest all of the bond proceeds and put it in the market for a year and not have a lot of draws, you're going to earn, you know, over 500,000 also in addition to the bond premium and the principal amount. So, um, you know, if
you were to invest this over a year and you're not not going to have as many draws during the first year, you know, next year will be the the the more significant draws. So, the big news is that you're going to also have investment earnings. So, if you were to have again just, you know, the principal amount plus the premium invested for a year, that's a little over 500,000 and you're going to have investments coming in over two years, but you're also going to have some draws, but just keep that in mind. So, that'll be available for the project as well. Um, so so those will be some some of the things we're going to be managing along the way. when we issue the bonds and and and we close them, we put those monies
in your building fund and then that just sits there and earns those interest as I talked about. And then next August will be when you adopt your budget for next fiscal year and that'll be when your first um uh interest and principal payments will start um going on the budget for so that'll be next August. So you're really um managing two funds with the bond issue. fund is where all your bond proceeds go for the project and those will be spent in two years. And then you're also going to start a debt service fund and that'll be in effect for 10 years. And every year you'll just have an annual payment for 10 years. >> Any questions on that? So we feel really good about where interest rates are going. We feel great about, you
know, bank demand. your bonds are bank qualified because they're under 10 million for each district. So that's another really positive thing and and we expect you know banks like Stockman Bank, First Security, uh First Interstate Bank um are are interested in buying the bonds. So that'll help uh you know create uh drive down the interest cost for you guys because your bonds are bank qualified. So that's another positive um trend. So, we feel really good about where we are, where you guys are. Um, we'll we've got we've sent the information today to to Britney to start kind of updating this document. Um, you'll have it for your next board meeting and final form to review. Um, and then, uh, as far as the debt service schedules, we're estimating kind of a rate of about 3.8%
on the bond. And we're also estimating pretty pretty significantly um favorable premium that'll be available for the project too. >> A couple comments I guess just to so we talked about a lot of things that were in there that were um items above the bond um principal. So you have bond premium and then also as interest. One thing that you need to keep in mind is is that it needs to be spent with the bond. the that the voters approve. So, you can't all of a sudden just say, "Hey, let's do project X because we've always wanted to do project X and now we have a little bit of money." So, um I I mentioned that, you know, as long as you're doing, you know, if you look at the bond language, um you know,
renovations to the high school bathrooms, well, the project right now, as it entails, is the the main level bathrooms that are adjacent the um you know, the cafeteria as well as the gymnasium. But if there's additional funds as what we're, you know, forecasting and projected, maybe there's additional dollars to do lower level bathroom renovations or other bathroom renovations that are within the high school. So that would be something that would be totally applicable, totally appropriate, you know, and I just keep that in mind. It doesn't mean, you know, go put a boiler in some other building. That that that would be contrary to the language. So, as long as you're matching the intent and what the voters have approved, if you have those additional those funds, then those are items that can be spent on
it. Um, you know, where I'm going to go and where, you know, follow it up to Bridgen is that, hey, you're not going to have funds to pay me until at the the February 18th at the earliest. And I'm saying my first draw for follow on activities won't be until March. What I'm proposing to you is to enter into a contract if in December if something what it allows me to do is to lock in 2025 pricing that we you know that we did for the project. It allows me to lock into that pricing. If something catastrophic happens, if there's other events that happens, there's there's language in our contract for the district to terminate for convenience. Hey, it didn't happen. all all you're doing from December until potentially March is you made a commitment
to me that you're going to pay me. I'm not going to draw against that until I know the district has funds. Just doesn't make any sense. I'm not going to, you know, I'm not going to start to invoice or have a schedule of values from December until March. You know, that just doesn't make any sense. So my timeline associated with this is that I'd like to start to finish, you know, construction drawing so I can hit the ground running in 2026. I can lock in prices on equipment and material in 2025. So my plan is is at the December board meeting is what will enter into our construction agreement which is in the follow on to our preliminary services agreement. And so for the amounts that we've identified and we put in the bond. So,
our construction period will be a two-year cycle. You know, we'll end in 2027, right? And we'll have the bond proceeds as the for the pricing that I proposed. What that allows me to do is the same thing that you're doing with me. I can then turn to vendors and say, "Hey, we can lock in on pricing in 2025 instead of waiting until March and then now I have a whole, you know, cycle of potential markups." So, my timeline, if if it's an agreement and everybody's talking about is that again, we have a 60-day window, you know, of a potential, you know, someone disagreeing or protesting, and that's fine. What I'd like to do is that by the December board meeting, you'll have my draft contract language with all the terms and conditions to review and
approve. We enter into that agreement, you know, upon a successful meeting as forecasted in December 8th, I believe, is the next board meeting. on December 8th, then I can turn to vendors before December 8th, before the end of the year, and then I can, you know, I can go into those contracts with my subcontractors. I as a just I'm not going to to do that until I know that my contract is is inked with the district. I'm not going to enter into those agreements. So, that's my timeline. Just the understanding is that I'm not you're going to enter into a contract with me, but I'm not going to draw I'm not going to invoice you until I know that you have those funds, which is forecasted to be right now from Bridget's timeline in March.
>> I know that's a lot, but it makes sense. >> Again, if I get it, if something catastrophic happens, there are there's language in the contract that's that's a termination for convenience. Hey, something something, you know, bad happened and we just we can't do this right now. No harm, no foul. Terminate for convenience. But I it it is there's a lot of benefits to executing this before the end of the calendar year in 2025. >> Yeah. Every got nothing. It's just Yeah. more um dads and timeline so you can get your stuff going and whatnot. I just wanted to make it obvious and apparent and on record that this is what we're doing. This is how we're doing this. So now everybody gets a little bit better piece of mind. The only thing I have
really looking at per uh um >> year timeline that first one Bridget the 18th I'm gonna have to move that forward. Okay. >> Um or I'm sorry, backwards. Actually, I can't. The 18th doesn't work for me. So, earlier that week or the week prior. >> Okay. >> And then I'll get with uh the rest of my board members. I have uh >> two positions I need. >> We'll talk about that. I'll reach out to you guys all individually on uh one for this and one for uh CFA negotiations. So, but uh that's I'll I'll get that taken care of um this week and then I'll get with Britney also Bridget on that week or the 18 even >> Okay. Yep. We can find that. This was these were just sample dates, Steve. So, you're Yeah.
What we kind of work around your schedule and I don't know are you able to meet during the day very easily for an hour or how does that work for your schedule? Um, Mondays and Wednesdays are not good for me. But Tuesdays are good. >> Okay. >> So, okay. >> But with this, if if we get it planned early enough, I'll just get it on my calendar and it won't that won't be an issue. >> We usually try to do it around lunch if you take a lunch, but like one one o'clock is what I pick. But we can we'll we'll tweak all these dates. Um, it's just a matter of kind of getting it started. So, yeah, good point. >> That was the only one that really stood out to me that I had
a problem with right away. So, I don't think it's going to be an issue. It's just >> just tacking it down. We'll get there. In fact, I I'll come in and see Britney and we'll get a hold of you and we'll kind of that a little bit >> with Scott, Britney, and >> Okay. [laughter] >> Nobody's looking to see right now. [laughter] >> So, that sounds great. So, anything else from anybody? Any questions for her or Tyler? >> I'm excited. I Yeah, I think it's great. I think that knowing that if we have extra money, we can use it on other bathrooms, too, would be >> fantastic because I know we have >> that back. >> Everybody's looked at the plans. Everybody's looked at the drawings. Everybody's completely on board. There was one thing with
the track coaches, Tyler, but it's it's semantic stupid. It was like where we have a a lung gum pit or something where what they were saying is where you have the the the bleacher side. They didn't want to put on that. >> They want the pool valve on the end as well as the high jump on the other end. It's just some >> again, we'll have final submitts that we'll go through the process, a review process to to iron out those >> and I assured them already that I said um Tyler will be well aware of that and we can finalize that before we get going. That's that's really a non-issue in my opinion. So, and they're happy with that. So other than that, yeah, I'll figure it out on my end and uh >>
Okay, we'll get her set up. >> And great job, by the way, as we went through the I kind of have up on the screen. It's probably too fine a print to review, but your um yeah, everything that you guys are doing at the district is great. Like if you look at your audit trends in the past five years, um you know your fund balances, the fact that you guys have you know favorable balances in the general fund, impact aid, you have some flex fund, you have interlocal fund, you have you have done a really great job at the district from you know our perspective, the financials perspective and the trends look really good. So we expect you to get a a favorable credit rating which will help get keep the interest rates low or
the yields low on the bond and keeping the yields low is what generates that bond premium. So so good news I think on that front. So uh great job to the board and and um administration everybody working on the finances ready. >> Perfect. Well like I said we're all excited to get this ball rolling. Mhm. >> Okay. Anything else? >> Perfect. Thank you, Bridget. >> Yeah. Thanks, guys. And so on the resolutions, the only thing we'll need is if you want to have a board, a second board member besides you, Steve, joining Scott and Britney. That'll be um the only thing to decide on when you adopt those two resolutions. >> Okay. We'll probably do it just because of the schedule is and everything else. I'd prefer to have one more. >> Mhm. >> So,
yep. Okay. >> And it works. >> Mhm. >> All right. >> So, we have to know that before we adopt this resolution on 506. >> Looks like it. >> Yes. I'll have one more. >> So, you can't wait. Is that going to do it? >> Well, I was thinking um I wanted you on the CFA negotiations. [laughter] >> I want to stick with the bond. >> I I'd already kind of made this decision with Britney's help and what what I wanted to do and who I wanted with me in those two ventures. >> And uh that look right there is why I want you. So that's what we're going to do, I think. [laughter] >> Watch yourself tonight when you >> make sure you're wait. [laughter] >> Wait, did you name somebody? Did I miss
it for the bomb? >> Yeah, she was good. >> I'm actually excited to learn more about this process, too. I think it's cool. So >> And you love numbers. the numbers. >> Yeah. >> Holy cow. >> Was it just me that made the decision? >> I'm gonna come in and visit with you. [laughter] >> It'll be great. >> Yeah. >> So, you're doing it and you for CSA? >> Yeah. >> Okay. >> Sounds good. >> Yep. >> Okay. So, do I need to read all of this, Britney, for the for the >> 5.06. 06. Do I need to read all of that as is? >> Oh, no. Just do the motion. >> And then do I need to state the board members? >> Um, let's see. Where did Bridget where does that need to be
stated on who is >> it? Actually, is it it's it's uh let me show you on on this. It's on uh this page two. It says um the board chair, the superintendent, the district clerk/b business manager and one member of the board designated by the board are hereby directed to kind of work through in between board meetings. So it just names it just says one other member. So you may just kind of read it into the motion that you know you know the other member would be part of the committee. >> Okay. Okay. >> Does that make sense? >> Sure. >> Okay. Okay. So, I move the board of trustees of Colrip School District 19 approves the elementary authorizing bond resolution and the high school authorizing bond resolution as presented with committee members [clears throat]
D. Becker, Sabrina Nyman, Scott Otremba, and Britney. >> Does that work? >> Yeah. Yep. Perfect. >> Okay. I have a motion in second. Any public comment on this agenda item? >> Are you going to put anybody like the administrators or anybody on this committee? Are they going to have any input on any of that? >> Not on the financial side of it. No. >> If there's leftover money, will you? >> If there's leftover money and we're going to work on something different like Tyler just explained, yes. >> Well, it'll probably it'll come before the >> It'll come before the board, too. We'll we'll probably discuss that in more of an open thing. Hey, we have these extra funds. >> Do we want to go after this because it fits in with the work scope or
this because it fits in with the work scope. So, >> yeah. >> Anything else? Francis, >> hi. >> Serena, >> can I vote if I'm on the committee? >> I think we have to. We're just on the committee. >> Okay. I >> I perfect. >> Thank you. Guys, >> board packs for the December 8th board meeting are due to you >> Thursday. >> Wednesday. Wednesday by 4 p.m. >> Wednesday by 4 p.m. >> Just that this one my due date for my documentation. Okay. >> Wednesday at 4 p.m. >> And I'm still looking at that calendar. So [clears throat] yeah, you be due on the 3rd by 4. >> That's the Wednesday. >> The first is Monday, right? >> Yes. >> That's just when we have our agenda approvals is that Wednesday before the uh
the regular board meeting. Perfect. >> Thanks, Tyler. Thank you. >> Thank you. >> And I'll get with you too with Britney and everybody on the that first meeting. >> Will that date? >> The 22nd I have to move to. So, but uh was there one on it twice? >> January, wasn't there? Said December. Oh, maybe it did say December as well. >> Um, >> I thought just said the 18th. >> No, it's the 8th. It's the 18th and then the 8th. >> December 22nd. Oh, January 8th. Gotcha. Korean. >> Yeah. >> Yep. Okay. >> sounds [snorts] good. [laughter] >> Okay, that works. With that, we'll move into our work session. Miss Bone, Maria, anything communication. Okay. Activities, transportation. >> Hi, you're up. [clears throat] All right. Some of the stuff we talked about, I'll hit
them real quick. So, activities we know the cross country with the state. Uh October 25th, they had five boys and two girls qualified and ran. Uh we hosted the district volleyball tournament the 30th and 31st of that month and wanted to say thank you to everybody that helped with that. It went off very well. Had uh quite a few uh people come up and say how well run it was how well run it was [laughter] >> say that three times. >> I can't even say it one time. It's to the people that helped. So they did a great job. And then of course we went to uh divisionals in but the volleyball team was a game away from going to state. And I talked to Mr. Trump about this. I would like to bring uh
anytime athletic program gets to state or close to state I'd like to bring them to the board, have the coach bring them and their athletes and just talk to the board a little bit. Give them recognition in the open form. Working with both those coaches there. I was going to try to bring Dave, but they're both out of town Thanksgiving, right? But I would like to do that to recognize the kids. So, we're working on that to do that eventually. >> I think that's great. >> Uh, let's see. Speech and drama has started. I think they went to a couple meets already and then building that program. Middle school girls basketball in the middle of that towards the end. Wrestling has already ended this Saturday. They've done a good job there. uh high school basketball
and wrestling have started. Uh we had the fall sports banquet uh till November 17th. I don't know if you wanted to go there, but I thought that went really well. We had cheer cross country football and volleyball. I thought all the coaches did a very good job that night. Then we had high school honor band on the 17th and 18th and then the high school concert on the 18th. We had the high school play on the 19th. Went to that. I thought the kids did a good job. And then went to middle school fall festival on the 20th. I thought Miss Oul and her staff put together a nice event. It was I liked it. So that's activities, transportation. I got these numbers last week on route number one goes to Ash. We had 48
total kids. 36 students in in town and 12 were out of town. And in route two, we had 40 students on Atapas. >> I'm glad that's turned around. >> Thank you for that. I also like to say thank you to uh John and Angie Couriers. They did just an amazing job with those middle school wrestlers, especially so many new >> Yeah, they they're great. They're >> great. >> They're great. I I was surprised when my daughter said she wanted to wrestle and >> her and some of the other girls are talking about wrestling through high school. they enjoyed it that much. So >> I was able to go to a couple of practices very thorough on on their technique on their basic fundamentals, you know, double leg take down, starting on top and bottom, things
like that. So they do a really good job. >> They do a great job. I hope we can keep them. >> Yes, >> they Yeah. >> Yes. >> It's been a lot of fun watching those kids >> go from having no idea to actually doing something in like [laughter] it was fun. So >> perfect. Thank you. Yes. >> When does um middle school boys basketball start? >> It starts. >> When? >> Right before Christmas break. >> Okay. >> And do we have a coaching full coaching staff for? >> No. >> We're working on maybe tomorrow posting for an interview next Monday. uh for a candidate and then maybe have an assistant depending on how that goes. Kind of working through that. We need to now that that we've got a head boys coach, she's got
an assistant working interview today for a high school girls assistant. I talked to Mr. Trump about this since we have a female coaching the boys and a male coaching girls. Even though our numbers may not be a lot, I still think that we should fill out those assistants to help uh both coaches with those programs. So, we'll talk about that later. If we can find people that are willing to do that, I think that'll be a good thing. >> Yep. >> Yeah. Makes sense. >> Then that's all the winter stuff. >> Yep. >> Up and going. >> Yeah. Cool. Good job. And then hopefully we have some longevity and we're not doing this all again next year. Probably sports, right? But hopeful that it'll be uh very productive for the people that we prefer our
program. >> Yeah. Rob's not here tonight. I didn't have anything on facilities. Most of it kind of I know he's still Yeah, he's still knocking off a bunch of those case stuff and whatnot. So, but a lot of it's going to start with that bond. So, Unless anybody's got anything on that. >> Sure, boss. >> All right. Well, I just have what's the summaries that are in the in by uh report. That's the word I'm looking for. Report. We've got a good number of tickets for the last month and my team's burning through those. And we've been doing some work, Carissa and I, on the school website. Just to give you a heads up, we're looking at a homepage redesign that I want to launch in January. So, it's going to have the same content
that the current homepage has, just visual update and reorganization to make uh like the news stories and the live feed a little bit more dynamic and easier to find. Uh update some of those photos that are on there and revamp the menu structure. the more my team's been working on it, the more great feedback we get from community members and staff saying, "I can't find anything on the website or this stuff's really old." Um, so that's been helpful. But yeah, we're looking at January to to launch that and our website company is working on that has some mockups for me and it's simple but it looks better than what it's been. And then uh just along with the websites, I've been traveling to buildings uh talking to the front office teams. We have everybody in
each building that the front office team has access to add content to the website. Uh surprisingly that wasn't the case for many many years, but secretaries and then just team members that the principles have identified are being kind of like the social media outreach team for that building to promote what's happening in the building. So everybody can put news stories or live feed events out on the website and then that automatically carries over to Facebook so that we don't have so many different channels that we have to manually update. We're condensing everything to be the website be the primary communication channel for public communications just you know general update kind of thing. So, that's been cool to see. And the buildings have really been excited about that to have that control to post pictures and
events whenever they have the information and not waiting um for it to get, you know, traffic jam or backlog if it's all coming to me or one other person in the building. So, I think everybody's received that really well. And then my team is just continuing with teaching um digital tools um just helping folks with different processes um and then working with central office uh with this new flow forms product that we purchased at the beginning of the year. Uh we've successfully had some requisitions go through that and Scott's been able to approve those quickly. Carrie's now uh seeing on her end and working with her to to see how that works on finishing out the process to make sure central office gets the correct paperwork they need for retention. Um but it's pretty cool
so far. So um maybe that could well whenever we'll get that out. We'll work through some more test results and then start rolling that out to the admin team and anybody else who's using forms on paper and try to get off paper as quick as we can. But we'll we'll keep doing paper, you know, for the year just as we transition over. >> I just want to say thank you to Evan and his team for being very receptive and responsive to the changes on the website. Um at one point, you know, parents have called and asked me about the athletic packet. Um you know, it's on the website and some documents go to athletics, go to this, go to that, find this, find that. And now we have an athletics page and there is a
button that says [laughter] >> want to invite also as far as somebody looking to apply for a coaching position. It's done a great job where they go to job opportunities where go to athletics and then right there you got the little red apply button for all the things. It's very makes it a lot easier for people to find and to apply. >> Good. >> All right. Anything else?
