back into worried about that one. >> She's gonna leave. She's [laughter] tomorrow. I mean, it's really any day. I know. >> When is your due date? >> Um, >> we're being recorded just so I know. >> Oh, you don't have to answer if you don't want to. >> How long? Yeah. Yeah. And >> uh March. Close. One more time. >> You didn't go home. >> Oh, you didn't leave. Is that what that was? You're stuck with me. I drove all the way down. I'm here. >> It doesn't want to spin. >> If you put it in the cross of the tiles >> where the where the tiles meet each other, you actually >> Yeah. I'm going to go eat. >> [laughter] >> snacks. There's cookies literally on everything in my >> Thanks for agendas. >>

Sorry, that's okay. You can add mine if you >> next strategic plan communication guidance. So uh uh it's a goal four objective one and priority one is communication [music] um develop and implement communication. Uh basically we're asking what would get your input as to um some potential guides. So we had talked about in those meetings about creating guides for better communication. So we want to get some input from you as to what that is. What do you expected? >> What are what communication? Because we were talking about having the media class, write videotape >> the um the guides, whatever they were. And unfortunately, I think this is actually one of Angel's ideas. And of course, she's not here tonight. So, um it's kind of up to you guys if you have some idea of what

she was talking about as far as communication guides. And if you don't maybe table >> I would say what's table I didn't hear from her either on that >> but is um just for when my brain is thinking is that um communication for us community. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Yeah. >> Okay. Table that my angels here. Do we got a vote on that? >> Yep, >> we do. >> I make a motion to table um the strategic plan communication guides. >> Motion from Katie Brown. Do I have a second? >> Second from Katie Marcus. Is there any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. All those opposed, same sign. Motion carries. Standing committee reports. Finance. first one on the list. >> Mhm. >> We met went over the what was it?

Midyear. >> What's that? >> Went over the midyear stuff and >> Oh, yeah. >> Update and a lot of the stuff we're going to talk about later, the cell phone stuff. >> Yeah, we have an action item. >> It's all on there. Okay. I don't have any questions on it. >> Brown, sorry. >> What do you have any questions on the financial? >> Oh, sorry. I was like, I'm not on personnel. Um, no, I didn't have any questions on it. Okay, thank you. [clears throat] >> Moving on. Personnel. >> Let's see. We met. You've got the kind of overview that Heather did a good job of kind of going over, but we had a superintendent review form that we highlighted and just made some updates, general questions, and requested that Heather kind of put together

a summary of how it went so that when they go to do the review for the next year, it gives those that are getting the information a baseline. So like our new board members for next year if they were going to review the superintendent had been there, we removed like the I don't know column option that's there and they will now get kind of a this is the things we discussed in last year's review so that the new board members have a good idea of the discussions that went on so that they're actually knowledgeable and they can't just kind of opt out and say I have no idea. I'm not going to reach you on this. you know, if you've done your homework and kind of asked around a little bit, I think that we

can do a pretty decent review. So, we just adjusted some of that a little bit. We talked about years of service awards. Um, Heather and Steve had a good idea that we could be a little bit more forthcoming and informative and we can recognize, I think, at a little higher level the amount of years that our teachers and staff have put into the school. So, I was really excited to hear that. So, we're going to implement years of service awards. Um, and then they'll be done during graduation for major milestones from here going forward like five year, 10 year, 15 year, 20, 25, 30. That's a great idea. And we requested that Heather send out once a year um to a US administration just kind of an FY of this is how many years each

one of the employees have been here so that we kind of have an idea you know not just the ones that are being recognized but those of us that also don't know can know like on a year-to-year basis beyond just the 5 10 15 20 um because we just thought it would be nice to know. And then we discussed some open positions that we knew um were coming up and where we were at with filling them. That's it. >> Um, discussion of the floating sub. Can you They're hired like a parah kind of. >> Yeah, we'll have more discussion on that. But yeah, we had talked about was it Steve you that kind of brought that up that you had seen in other districts what we thought might be kind of a good idea and

something to look further into. >> They'd be there every day. Yep. >> They're hired full time, >> but they just go wherever you need. >> Yep. wherever there was a need >> whether subbing or cleaning or otherwise that we thought it might not be a bad idea. >> So it was something to look into. So we'll discuss that further. >> Um and that was pretty much it. I think >> we did implement the Google form for the exit. >> Oh yes, sorry I forgot about that. >> So that is a thing now. >> Finally got it done and Heather tested it out so that when we have an exit interview Yep. She can text a link to someone and then they can click on the link and it takes them directly to that and it's

very easy to answer and like if I were me I would be much more apt to answer these kind of things. It goes directly to my phone. It's very easy. It takes you right there and it's not super long. Couple of quick questions and then they have the ability to expand on things if they'd like to. But it also would then give us some I think good insight >> into whoever or whyever someone was leaving to take a different job or they're moving, you know, all sorts of things. I think we can get some good information on that. So, thank you Heather for reminding me of that. It'll be very good. That was the other night we discussed. >> Cool. Um, curriculum has not met, but we have we have one coming up. Transportation, Heather,

did you want to do this one? >> Um, sure. So, the educational access uh transportation program is actually an action item on the um agenda tonight. So, we can talk about it more when we get to that action. Okay. That was kind of really the big thing um on the agenda on the um committee meeting. Yep. Okay. Thanks. And then finance did have another um committee meeting to um review uh essentially kind of redefine a RIP. And when the committee requested that Steve sent out send out um a memo and he did so kind of just reminding the employees like what a rip is and how and how it's to be used. >> So >> you did do that or you're going to? >> He did. Awesome. >> Yeah. Okay. >> Steve, you're first. weeks.

>> Uh I did visit with uh Bob Moore um with the Kin Street. Um so we he apologized first because we were hoping to have some kind of a big engineer architect group come here. Um but their lead architect or lead engineer, I don't know what his title is, accepted another job. I think I mentioned I might have mentioned this last time a little bit but um he did talk uh further with me that it's going to be towards the end of March probably once that person gets to the office and actually it's their feet underneath them um then he will they will mobilize their team and show up and check out the elementary uh tool cat is here I think I mentioned that earlier now we just need to do decide what we want

to do with it um at this point um it was not making any headway being sold at um the quoting place. So, we just brought back instead of just storing it there. So, um let's see. Um my administrative team, there is no nothing to report there. We had to cancel because of uh people were unable to attend. So, we had to change it. Probably just wait till March. So, uh superintendent report u not a conversation on accreditation. Um there's not tons for most districts to do at this point. I think they they hit a pause on that this year. [clears throat] There's still a few things that we have to do and it's more at the high school level. Um making sure people are assigned things like that. Uh so there are some things that

we have to do. That's all due at the end of of February or so in the next couple weeks. Um try to hammer that out. Um, and there wasn't a lot there's a there's a Zoom meeting that I'm actually attending tomorrow um that is going to be making sure that we're um eligible for our Perkins grant. So, there were some trainings that will happen throughout the year and it's [clears throat] just going to help us talk about our um comp comprehensive needs assessment things like that how to um create those. But, uh so I'll be watching that. for having that Zoom meeting tomorrow probably afternoon and that will make us make sure that we're eligible for our permanent money. Um that was about it. There was some talk of training um for the mast which

I want to get that to our counselors. There's an actual place where they can go and you know you know send training for teachers you know videos that they can show but um there's some more information that we'll we'll send that off to them. Um so it was really a lot of conversation about accreditation not much else than that. Um uh PI day we had great conversation um about the schedule um and then we basically what I did is I showed them the strategic plan and we walked through that talked about it and um had some good conversations and we we switched it up. I asked them all to come up front and you should have to sit in the back. So I was I said okay. So uh but I had a great conversation

um on that. [clears throat] I hope that maybe gave teachers a better picture of of what we're doing with that and the importance of the of the work we're doing strategic planning. Um then conversations we about the schedules for the calendar. Sorry. Um, I haven't done a new version of that, but I'll tweak the uh calendar examples that I gave them um here in the next week or so that I can get out to them and they can have their look at it. Uh, Jeremy May called us about our roof. Um, ironically, we had our roof guys here. So, TMCO, um, Platinum Peak and Bradford were all here, representatives from them looking at from the moon damage that we had. >> Pieces of that, um, she slid across the N roof that we got last,

was it last year? Last year, >> Year before. Um, so there's some gouges that they've had to seal up. So, they're they're going to, you know, obviously make a report on that at some point and let us know what the best repair is. We haven't seen any leaks. So, you know, no leaks at the moment. Um, so we talked about, you know, the gym floor because that will be refinished here this summer. Um, the, uh, uh, RFPs went out couple weeks ago now. Was two weeks ago. >> Well, you said Tuesday 3rd of February. So, that was >> Yeah, that would Yeah. So, so, uh, reached out to a couple other floor companies just to get a through our insurance. We need to have >> Mhm. >> several bids to come out. I have not

heard anything from anyone yet. We do have the one from our usual person that does her four. So, um I think I mentioned this last time also, our Mrs. Web is doing a disc with two of her grade levels to her classes. So, our high school class is taking a career version of the disc. It kind of walks them through potential careers that they could do. Um and then the the middle school students are doing successful student reports so they can learn how they how they learn best and how they communicate. And so they're uh they have not taken theirs yet. The high school group is done already and they're kind of digging through their reports. Um I'm happy to also announce that our advanced opportunities grant was approved. Um, we are going to uh

be awarded $30,72742. Um, so that's pretty exciting. So, I think we were hoping for more, but we got what we got, so we'll take it. [clears throat] Uh, that's about all I got for you. >> Wonderful. I have some questions. >> Sure. So the the tool cat remind me at the last meeting it was the attachments deal that was damaged. Correct. One guy that had >> Yeah. The one guy that was going to buy it thought he was going to use it turned out to be broke. So then we took it back to >> Hoben and then he decided not to buy it. So >> Right. Which is understandable. So then is it still broke then or did we approve to have? >> We did not fix anything. I just said we just need to

bring it back. >> Okay. So, >> I just wanted to make sure that that was the case because >> what about our guys? Have they looked at it? >> Not not to in depth that they can fix it. I I talked briefly with with Garrett. I said, "Is this something you can fix?" And he said, "Yeah, probably." But we haven't. That's >> Well, I was just kind of curious because I know the discussion that we had kind of the last time was we didn't think that it was broke when it was there. >> And so, I didn't know if there had been any more discussion with Hovven as to it was on their lot. Yes. >> And it got broke sometime when someone was trying it, you know, and that there should be some insurance,

you know what I mean? Did we put any pressure on them of, hey, this was on your lot, dude? how it got broke and what did they >> I have knowledge that we might have hit something in the time we had it but we don't I don't know if they're driving here after there and it's going to be you pointing at me pointing at you and so I don't >> and we didn't have a they didn't inspect it when it showed up there >> and then and to his credit he did say based on that they're making changes there so that when they do get equipment in that it gets fully inspected before because I kind of thought that that would have been part of the inspection when they gave us a quote to put

the new engine in because they said they had to overhaul >> things that needed fixed stuff, >> right? They were fixing a good amount of things >> on that. So, I'm kind of surprised that they didn't catch that. I would say that's kind of an umber on them when they're giving someone like us a quote to notice that. But note it for next time, too, I guess. >> Yeah. maybe not using. >> Um, [clears throat] and then there's been discussions about this as well. We have the new tool kit and there's been some storage discrepancies around that. Now, we have a second tool kit. Where are we storing it and thoughts around that? >> The new tool kit is tucked back uh and out of the way of the main floor. So, when the garage

door is up, it's not parked right there. So, it's not in the main area of the floor. So, it's out of the way. The second one is just parked in the back at the moment by the who big trucks or pickup trucks. [clears throat] >> So it's just kind of back in this. >> Yeah, just outside >> outside the covered section over here. >> Okay. And just cuz it's kind of on that same [clears throat] thing, [cough] does Mr. Benton have the approval to move that new tool kit out when he needs to out of shop class if they need that thing for bigger panels and bigger pieces of metal to cut the shop stuff? I it's like I said it's tucked in the corner now. It's not in the way. >> They can move

whatever they need to issue. I don't know if he if he needs to move it. So maybe he can. I don't know. I don't aspect. >> Just curious cuz I know that that was kind of a thought. And then also being on building committee knowing that if this is a storage issue and we need to look at down the road figuring out something, especially with some of these other opportunities for construction classes and stuff that we could look at actually using that as a building opportunity for kids in the classroom if we needed more storage for these. >> It would be interesting to maybe look at like that little courtyard in the back. >> Yes. >> Can't that be roofed somehow? Yes, it could be external storage. It would be just fine to your point

for things like that garage door in there, >> right? So that we could use the full extent of the classroom for classroom stuff. So hence why the questions came from what I did. Thank you. >> Okay, >> those are all them that I have. >> Um you guys got my my written report. I just wanted to call attention that, you know, we've been making what I would consider to be big strides and kind of one of our strategic plan um objectives, which was to, you know, reach out into the community and make [clears throat] the school a center of of different things. So, we had the um the board training um in partnership with MSU Extension. We had the um we're having reimagining rural right now. Um there was one last week, there's one this

week, and there's one uh the week after. Uh we have an Excel um workshop coming up um in partnership again with Bearpaw Development that's coming up on the 20th. And um I've got people signing up for that. So, so far I think I have about 10 people signed up for it. I'd like to have more, but uh there's room for more, so I'll continue pushing it. And then we have a second um offering of the grant writing training workshop um in in partnership with Bearpaw on the 6th of March. So um I I really feel like we're doing a really good job of kind of continuing to get out there and and do different things. Um nothing else that you know you guys have any questions about the report that I gave you. Have you

heard any um just because it's on here um for the board training in May, have you heard back from any other schools? >> Uh Seycho wants to come and I think as we get closer I'll you know probably give a call to um or maybe have Steve call superintendent and >> Yeah. >> and do a personal invitation. >> Yeah, it would be great to be able to meet all the other districts. >> I think it would be really good. >> Yeah. Yep. I agree. We don't have any more questions, but there has been a lot of stuff put out towards the community through the school. So, good job, Heather, on that. I've been impressed and the amount of feedback I think has been positive that I've received from that as well. So, thank you. >>

Yeah. Well, um Sean kind of turned some of us loose. So, [laughter] maybe a mistake on his part. [laughter] He was He said, "I'm I've made you someone who doesn't need approval." I was like, "Uhoh, you might regret that. Um so for budget information uh right now for uh January we should be our goal is 58% of budget. So expense wise we're right on target. We're right within the range on everything. So uh really nothing, you know, nothing here that's of any kind of concern. And we're also within range on our on our income. So, as far as like our state payments and the general fund and things like that. So, we will be seeing our uh state reimbursements for transportation will be coming in now that we have TR5s and TR sixs um that

have been submitted. So, we'll be receiving those and cash balances. uh we're right back up into a very healthy position for uh continuing to keep the levels up on our on all of our funds. So, I'm happy with that. You guys have any questions about cash balances or income and expenses? And then you've got your graphics uh for year-over-year. We're uh spent a little bit more this January than we did last January, but you know, I think it's just been the way that things have been falling more than anything in particular because we're October and November we were down. So, >> we'll see how the rest of the year. I don't expect to have that big spike in May because I'm really going to be controlling credit card uh expenses more than I did last

year. I think we talked about that. >> Yes, we've been doing that nearly. Yeah. So, I'll be uh closing down um everyone except for sports, you know, but teachers and stuff like that. We'll be kind of ramping that down. We're getting to the end of the year, so we don't need to be going out and buying a pension, >> right? >> Um and then monthly spending for the month of December. Obviously, the general fund is always our base vendor, but >> thank you. I'm a visual person. >> I know. That's what I'm saying. Like I loved having the graphs and the comparisons for last year at this time and how we're doing. So I appreciate that and all the breakdown. I love it. >> All right. >> Middle school. Um, so our our big thing

for winter right now is the middle school music festival that is on Monday all day. Uh, Mr. Mates just finalized that and sent it out to the teachers yesterday. So hopefully they'll be sent home tomorrow with the kids. I thought I had another week or so. >> That's just a few days unless she's in a do it solo. I think she's during soft period. So, >> thanks. >> Note that. Yeah. >> And then, um, we also have had a few kids use their 10, the SAT ticket. So, we've had one use it for a homework pass, and then we had another, well, two get pops. So, they're kind of liking that, especially the pop version of it. Uh, core three award was our janitor, Eric, this time, which is really cool. >> Uh, he's a

great addition, too. Like, he's doing a great job. He's very positive and always smiling and interacting with the kids. So that's nice to have him on staff, too. And then for student of the month or month was Cooper Pink Crafts. So that's pretty cool. >> Super deserving. That's cool. >> Yes, he definitely deserves that. >> I love seeing those posts come across >> 3D printer stuff that he has to. [laughter] >> Any questions about anything? No. >> Perfect. Okay. Thank you. >> Thank you. Elementary. >> All right. Looks like you should have received my report. I did mention that I would give you an update from the spelling be today. Um, a young man from Seikko won the B, but our gem rank fifth grader was the runner up. So for that if if he

is not able to go to Bosezeman um which is March 21st for the state spelling bees she would be the representative from Phillips County. Um I got to go over and be a part of that this afternoon and it was a a lot of fun for me to be able to be a judge and watch our our students do their very best to spell lots of really fun words. [laughter] Any questions? I don't >> think so. Okay. >> Thank you. >> Yeah. Thank you. [clears throat] >> Russell. >> Yeah. I emailed you all my report. Um, ignore all the few maintenance items that were in there on a few of the buses that I got cleaned up and kind of done there. Got the inspections done with the HP on the on the new one

and then with the one he started before had no issues starting when he came second time. But >> and then biggest thing is I guess um we're coming off our winter season which became quite a lot less trips with having to move the junior high moving to the fall that really shortened up amount of trips in our winter time. But that is about to change. We're going to come into our springtime and looking at the schedule. There's times I will have four to five buses out. That means every bus will be out on the weekend. And I see that coming. So it could become very difficult to try to fill all those position all those trips. So just the kids kind of keep that in. >> When does that start? Do you know what weekend?

>> As far as like >> spring sports >> when the big rush. What weekend? What? >> Yeah. >> Not far away. I mean we're getting >> wrestling. Then we're getting into basketball which will they'll take a few buses every weekend there. So, um, >> and our districts are home. So, I'm not taking another load off. We're not having to cover those, too. So, >> we have drivers now, but we just need to be trying to recruit. Well, we are still short cover that many trips especially >> a lot of the ones that >> are happen on like a Thursday or midweek that a lot of the spring type stuff happens as far as that tough comes becomes tough to cover because we can't pull our route drivers off to take those trips. So, >> so

routes are priority. So, >> yep. Do you have any other questions? >> We get our signs for our new bus. [cough and clears throat] No, we have nothing. I mean for the >> expedition air. >> Yeah. Yeah, they're on. They're on. >> Cool. Over a week. There's nobody there, but >> Oh, really? >> Yeah. They're on there. >> They're on before we we went out. So everything, all the safety stuff, the bloodborne pathogen, first aid at all, fire extinguisher, booster seats, the whole thing are all in it. So good to go. So, she said it was way too fancy, but >> Well, >> cool. I'm glad. At least she didn't say it was a piece of crap, >> right? So, >> I'll take that. >> It's fancy. It is a base model. It's the bottom

model you can get, but it has a lot. >> She has not complained. So, >> any other questions? >> Thank you, Carter. Good evening. Earlier this I guess last month um I had the MHSA annual winter meetings. It was a great time. It's down in Helena. Um [snorts] last meeting you guys gave me the ability to vote on behalf of the school district for proposals um that were presented at the board meeting. There were seven proposals. Uh the first prop proposal was struck from uh the list. Proposals 2 through 7 all passed um pretty much unanimously and I voted um in favor of yes for all of those um in line with almost all schools that are a part of MHSA. So that was it was a great experience. Um Mr. King was down there

and he got his MIT AAA award and it was a huge honor. Um it was really cool seeing him walk into the room. Um and just there's been so many people that are in the MHSA and ads around the state that know him. He's just so well respected. Um there was almost a line of people coming coming up to him to shake his hand and he could [clears throat] barely bowl him out of the room. So, it made me really proud to be um first off mentored by him and then um just having him a part of Malta and everything that he built um and seeing that get rewarded was was really cool to see. So, um it was really fun being there with him for that award and um that he got his picture

taken and [clears throat] it was a great experience. Um finally, I guess for the first time there, I didn't feel like um the newest person there. I had it was it was very I guess also honoring and telling about Malta because a lot of the times um you know I get to deal with the the good and the bad and sometimes focusing on the bad becomes very easy and you're always trying to stop problems and and get ahead of things and um hearing other schools come up to me and just ask you know how are you guys doing? What's your guys' secret to success? You know we want to be like Malta. Um that was also very rejuvenating to go down there and hear from ads all over the state. So overall it was a

great experience. Um can't wait for the summer meetings. I look forward to going back to the winter uh meetings again. So that's how the winter meetings with the MHSA um convention went. On the high school basketball, I know on my paper it said boys conference is 12 and0, girls conference is 10 and two. I got a little ahead of myself. We still have two games to play. That should say boys are 10 and0 in conference play. Girls are 8-2 in conference play. So boys have pretty much and not pretty much they have locked up one seed going into districts. Uh girls are sitting right now as a two seed. So we'll see how things shake out over this last week. Uh leading into districts that we will be hosting with high school wrestling. We are

currently sitting still in third place as a boy team by Muhammad Project in Glasow. Uh we have some individual wrestlers that are ranked. Becket Squires is ranked fifth. Trooper Styles is ranked third. R Spencer is ranked fourth. Strod Sims second. Keenan Lee second. Um so it's great to see recognition from coaches polls. Um and see our boys that are doing a great job. Our girls are doing a great job as well. Um we've had one injury and another one that um is just right there on the cusp. She's been ranked. Um so it's good to see that. So our wrestling is right now has been pretty fun. It's obviously we're leading up into what I think is probably if not I think the the most teams that we've ever had ever involved in a gym

with 23 teams and 30 schools with co-ops. Um, so it's going to be a huge event. We've hosted divisional wrestling tournaments before, but that was before the split from a east and west. So, uh, it's going to be crazy, but there's a lot of really great people that have stepped up that are on the tournament management team. Um, it's not just people here in Malta. I mean, we have people in Malta. Um, like Scott Host is going to be a part and helping out with track wrestling. Um, and Mr. Boots will be there and myself and Evan should be on standby. Uh, we got Dustin Squires that's doing some stuff. And then we have a lot of workers from Malta that are making it happen. But um there's even people that are coming from other

schools. So us projects superintendent's going to be in attendance. He's going to help with the seating meeting. Uh they're one of their I guess not tech people, but uh I guess it's a mom really, but she's been running the track wrestling for the division over the last seven years. She's coming up and heading that. Um so that's going to take a huge load off of Scott. Um, it definitely now our coaches don't have anything to do with that. So, her name is Sarah Reynolds and she's going to do a great job. And then they are also bringing up their tech guy who uh he he does a a phenomenal job. He usually is the guy that oversees all the different things that go into webcasting and and for NFHS NHS over at the Metra for

wrestling. So bringing a guy that has experience with, you know, streaming 12 mats at a time, coming over and working with us. Um, totally just voluntary is it's really cool. So the collaboration between all the different schools, making sure that we have a successful tournament. Um, it should be really fun. So look forward to that. With high school cheer, we are coming up on tournament time, wrestling, basketball divisionals, and districts and all the different things. So, it's really starting to ramp up for them. They will also, they have uh confirmed that they'll be going to Cheerfest again, which is in Lewistown on March 20th and 21st. It's a great experience for cheer teams across the state to get to display um a little bit of team competition. So, I look forward to seeing that. Um,

some other things I guess that I just want to keep on your guys's agenda, um, is mainly I guess budgetar budgetarily and I went back and looked at I think it was like the June board meeting last year. Um, and I don't suggest ever going back and watching a previous board meeting cuz I was >> cringey and why did I say that so many times? I sat there and asked for more money, more money, more money. Um, you know, I I was just like, "Oh, Jake, what are you doing?" But now that I see that, uh, we're in the process of negotiations and stuff, I just wanted to bring it back, I guess, on the table. I said $85,000 in that meeting. Um, that that board meeting like probably seven or eight times in a

row. Um, and I don't know why I was confused on that because the budget is actually 80. Um, I would just like to see that increase. My ask for that um for you guys to keep that in mind is just the overall lodging of you know all these overnight trips that we go on and hotels are still going up in in prices. Uh it doesn't really I'd rather what I have is it's broken down. We have lodging um as part of the budget, but then there's also a discretionary like a flex fund almost the flex fund is $10,000 and it's been saved saved almost exclusively to band choir speech um either FFA or FCCLA has dipped into that a little bit. But I would either like to see that budget increased by $5,000 um or

that sub budget I guess I should say or the overall lodging one by $5,000 because I think right now on spending we're about halfway through on that $10,000 flex um budget. So you factor in hotels of divisionals for band and then state basketball potentially for band depending how many kids we take. you know, it could obviously go over that. And now we're supplementing um band trips, I guess, with the athletic fund, which isn't the end of the world. I mean, I want to send them no matter what, however you code it. It could be just out of a lodging, but um I just think that in some way they're on the lodging side of things, we're a little bit short. So, I would like to see potentially that that gets. [clears throat] So, um besides

that, upcoming athletic events you see, there's two changes. popular Wolf Point. It's just based off of our C squad boys playing half games. Uh has to change some things around and we're into tournament time. So, is there [clears throat] any questions >> on this? How did it go the other night putting the wrestling? We were there. It look >> It was fun. >> Yeah. >> A lot of people I'm sure the gate was great. I haven't seen it yet um as far as what it brought in, but it was it was a fun experience. um >> on your end it went you thought it went good. >> Yeah. I mean anytime you do something that's new there's going to be bumps along the way and there definitely was bumps along the way especially in the

transition from basketball to wrestling like you know everybody thought a lot of people thought it'd be the mat being rolled out and how long it takes to get the mat. Um really it ended up just being the technical side with track wrestling. Um and then there was you know a misunderstanding on uh a digital scorebook versus a physical scorebook. the ref wanted a physical score block versus a digital one. So, um, you had to make some adjustments on the flag there. But overall, I think it was great. I mean, if you were there, I think you had a great experience or I know I did. And I got hop on the radio with Travis Roads and my debut and it was it was fun. I hope to do it again. So, I don't know if

we'll do it next year, but um, I think definitely the year after. I think classical probably plans on doing it next year when they host us and then it would come back to us. But we'll we'll see or take it as we go. So >> yeah. Well, I heard good feedback from it and I think I was probably personally the most nervous about the transition from basketball to wrestling because people have zero patience. But thought the volunteers you guys did did a nice job in that. Just having the dads come out and enroll it and knew what they were doing. Like you said, the technology part of it was a little cumbersome, but really I think we were what only 30 minutes behind and that wasn't really the wrestling necessarily. I think everything but because

overtime and the games >> overtime senior technical difficulties. Yeah. [clears throat] >> I really didn't think that was bad at all for the first time trying to do something like that. So sure was stressful. I thought you guys did a great job. I heard a lot of positive comments about that. U we've requested that our admin do more communication with the public. So, I think you making that effort to do a little radio portion of it, I think that was great. Like you you did you helped Travis out with that. So, kudos to you. I thought you did a good job and you guys did a nice job of running that. Obviously, we can always learn and do something different the next time. But, I thought you did a good job. You guys [clears throat]

volunteers. >> Yeah, it was good to watch. We enjoyed it. Our whole family enjoyed it. So, >> cool. >> Thank you, J. >> Yeah. All right. Approve. >> What? >> Done. Anyway, [laughter] make sure >> approval of a student graduation request. >> All right. We have done this uh in the past. [clears throat and cough] um you have a a document in there that that uh shows you the uh Montana graduation requirements and then high school graduate uh graduation requirements. um this particular student is experiencing a uh hardship. Um but um when I reviewed this information um I would say this individual did uh has done and is continuing to do a great effort on trying to meet meet those requirements. You know, she's they're doubling up on classes and they're taking multiple classes, online

classes to get to those credits. Um and uh it appears that really the only thing missing is going to be an elective a couple elective boxes. So uh good attendance not a behavior issue. Um I'm recommending that board based on the math graduation. And I don't I read through all the information that we were sent and I agree. I >> I hope that you pass on the kudos to this individual because >> as a parent of a senior I can appreciate how hard this individual has worked over the last two years to try and catch up from circumstances. >> Um so please pass that on. >> So sorry. Thank you. >> Are you still talking? >> Okay. I make a motion to approve the student graduation request. A >> motion from Katie Brown. Second. >>

A second. >> Is there any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. All those opposed. Same sign. Motion carries. True green contract. >> All right. We do this every year. Uh I do that as attached. Um [clears throat] his total contract would be 15,264. Um and it is you know your elementary your old gym your head starts >> everything games game fields practice fields with the deduction >> there% >> it saves us uh $13.99. Mhm. We don't ever get any other. >> Are there any other companies? >> I was going to say, don't they? >> I make a motion to approve the true green contract. >> Have a motion from Katie Marcus. Do I have a second? >> Second Katie Brown. Is there any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor

say I. I. >> All those opposed, same sign. Motion carries. >> $1,500 CDL incentive for non employees. >> You want to talk about it? >> It says it says Kyle. >> Kyle first. >> It came out of the transportation. We uh did this in our and then the policy we went through and >> and no it's a transportation committee meeting >> right but we need to >> we can only as it's >> right now we can only >> offer it to employees. We want to be able to offer it to the community anybody >> to have someone come work for us >> right >> to want to come work for us. incentive to come sign on and we can help reimburse for the CADL or yes re if they've had it in the past >>

five years >> 5 years >> with receipts of course but up to 1500 >> or if they get it you know while they're working for us >> makes sense cuz once again we're trying to come up with >> to get people to come help us with the shortage and this was something that we wanted to do so I I think it's a great idea. >> I make a motion to accept the 1500 CDL incentive for non-emp employees. >> I have a motion from Katie. Do I have a second? >> Second. >> A second. Katie Brown. Any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. All those opposed, same sign. Motion carries. Cell phone stipened. >> All right. uh administrators have been trying to do away with uh cell phones. So, we're contemplating

going uh away from Verizons in our government um and doing just siphons. Um we are doing currently doing that with um middle school and ad right now. Um budget concerns, it'll be about $1,200 a year or cap for children. It's a total of I'm reading this right. >> 72. Thank you. >> Um, so if it's is that 3,000 more, 4,000 more, why? Just so they don't have to pack two cell phones. So that's the main is that is that okay. Um I don't know. Do you have any input K on this one? >> No, this is something we've discussed at different times. It's one of those things that most of the people that I know I was in meetings that I talked to. This was just a preference of theirs, you know, like a >>

a request, a small request of one of them. They didn't like packing two cell phones or if it was a pain. And um this was something that they said, "Well, what if I could get a statement instead and just use my own phone so I have one and I can pick where it went, what they felt comfortable with, the phone that they felt comfortable with, then they'd have a little bit more leeway for choice." Um it did I not remember impactwise on the budget because I haven't been on finance again for a while since we've discussed this because this has been a discussion for quite some time. What does that look like? It's what $3,000 difference for a budget. And then remind me on the cell phones that we would be getting back, do we

have loans on those ones or would we be able to um turn around and sell those or would we be able to get them back? >> Strip them and you're not going to be able to get any credit. But I mean potentially I guess some of them, but most of them are pretty old. are old enough that it's not going to be really >> like Garrett's is getting to the point where we and Sean's are um they need to have an upgrade. So, it looks like we need to make a decision. >> So, it's not necessarily going to cost more like right right now with the stipens it is, but the the contracts is only 3,000. That's not what we're paying for the phones and everything. That's just the payments, >> right? And I don't

know enough about Verizon like what if you get an upgrade or if it's a free upgrade or if you pay for an upgrade. I mean I don't I don't know all the ins and outs of that and I didn't ask about it but I'm assuming that you would pay >> something for an upgrade. >> Yeah. Or for a new phone, right? Would depend on Yeah. what your you know each individual contract is up. if they're up, they could sometimes to try to keep you in it, but then of course you got to if you're going to do it, you have that contract again that you're stuck to where you got to pay the phone back kind of thing. So >> yeah, but all of our phones are old enough that we're not won't make much

difference. >> So my opinion is I guess for the difference here for the price it my opinion that's a small price to pay if that's kind of what makes people's life easier to do the job that they need to be able to do. Um >> and over time it might end up saving. Yeah, >> if we're not purchasing >> and right now we're doing a hybrid kind of >> right [clears throat] >> this 3,000 is that >> just the fault cost for the phones, >> right? >> And that's not including any of the others, >> Right. Well, so what it is is the lines >> the cost. So, we're actually carrying more lines than I mean I have I have a bunch of phones in my cupboard, you know, that are old phones that nobody's

using >> because they're they prefer to use their own phones and we've, you know, a couple people have negotiated stipens >> already. So, yeah, we kind of have this we're like in this middle world right now. >> Y >> where we're paying for the lines we're not using. No, you know that makes sense. >> All right. I make a motion to accept the cell phone statements and vertical contracts. >> I have a motion from Katie Marcus, a second from Katie Brown. Is there any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. Those oppos same sign. Motion carries. educational access transportation support program. >> Okay, I'll talk about that. Okay. [laughter] I was like I can but you're so good at it. >> Um so [clears throat] we have uh within the radius

of the three miles, right? Because outside of three miles we offer bus transportation. inside of the three miles. We do have um kids who for various reasons have trouble with transportation and getting to school and um those children are identified by administration and um we they would ride Philips Transit essentially. So what this program is doing is it's just formalizing uh this program and that is that we would enter into anou with Philips Transit which basically spells out what their responsibilities are, what our responsibilities are and then there is a um there's the it formalizes the internal referral. It's all internal. There's it's not this isn't a service that's going to be offered. It's an internal referral for very specific reasons um that are spelled out in uh the program definitions and the superintendent has

to approve those referrals. So if the superintendent doesn't agree or the whoever is making the internal referral doesn't make their case um the superintendent can say no um we're not going to offer it to this child. we would um then receive parental consent. Um so that is one piece that we have to have is that the parent has to consent to let their child ride Philips Transit and then the school district out of the general fund would pay for these uh specific children to ride Philips Transit to and from school. And everything that's attached here is all of those things that I just went over. Uh the estimated cost is less than $1,500 a year. So, I don't know if you guys had a chance to look through everything, if you had any questions about

it. >> I'm just curious. Can you tell me how many currently we would have that we would probably recommend doing this? Right now there's um I believe eight. >> Is that what she said? >> Something like that >> that would take advantage of this. >> Yeah. >> And that could increase as need increases. Um because now that there's a formal path um there might be more referrals and I don't think I think that Mr. Buches and I are terribly concerned about the budgetary impact of that, you know, um and very specific. >> It's critical enough >> and important enough to make sure that they can >> make sure that these kids can get to school. >> Yep. I get it. >> I thought this was a good idea. Whoever brought this up, brought it forth.

I think it's a great idea. How many kids can the transit handle at a time? >> They have a couple different sizees. Yeah. Was it >> one? That's pretty small one. One was like eight and like a 14. >> So if needed, if this were to increase, they have the capability if needed. >> Yep. >> She actually came to the meeting. >> Laura did. >> Laura came to the meeting >> and I think they were actually getting >> And she's actually getting another bus or two. Yeah, I think you're right. Yeah. >> So, yeah. >> They had a van at the very school. >> Yeah. Cuz they already give kids rides, you know, for parents and everything all over town. >> Yeah. Because other parents buy a pass, right? And so they're already here. Absolutely.

>> Giving kids rides. >> Yeah. >> And that makes sense. >> Yeah. But yeah, it was great that she came to the meeting because she was on board, too. She was >> That makes sense. >> Very good. >> Okay. I make a motion to accept the educational access transportation [clears throat] support program. I have >> a motion from Kate Marcus. Do I have a second? >> I'm sorry to interrupt. Can you go ahead and authorize Mr. Buches to sign theou on behalf of the district as part of that motion? >> Yes. >> Okay. So, I move to accept the educational access transportation support program and approve and authorize Mr. Boots to sign the OMOU on behalf of the district for Phils County Transit. >> Motion from Katie Marcus. I got a second from Katie Brown.

Is there any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. >> All those opposed. Same sign. Motion carries. >> Recognized received a letter of intent for negotiation. So attached you'll find both classified and certified sent a letter that they're open for negotiations. just accept those. >> I recognize the >> Go ahead. >> Sorry, I thought you were done. [laughter] >> I make a motion to recognize the receipt of the letter of intent negotiations. >> A motion from Katie Marcus and a second. >> I second. I was waiting for you to make a sign. >> Um, this is another one where I'm sorry, we need to assign the finance committee members to negotiate on behalf of the board. >> Sorry, I missed that memo. So, I make a me a motion to recognize

receipt of letter of intent for negotiations and assign the finance committee members to negotiate on behalf of the board. >> A motion from Katie Marcus and second from Katie Brown. Is there any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. I. >> I. All those opposed, same sign. >> Motion carries. TR6 claims. >> Uh so these are our first semester bus claims um to be submitted to OPI and to the county superintendent. Um so this is how we receive our reimbursement from the state. And our total for first semester is $58,583. I'll make a motion to approve the TR6 bus claims. >> Motion from Katie Brown. I have a second. >> Second from Katie Marcus. Is there any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. All those opposed, same sign.

Motion carries. 2526 contracts. >> All right. We have three. Uh playground aid Jessica Zer. um substitute teacher Leanne Cochran which is pending background check and then Anthony Warren for pair professional like elementary school motion approved list. >> I'm assuming we interviewed them all and they were good between you guys. >> Can I ask a question how that works? Um like within our it's legal to hire them before that background check is cleared. We say pending back. >> As long as this is pending. >> It is. Okay. Yes. >> Um it's not and they won't be working. Um especially in these positions, right? Because a substitute teacher has right >> um >> has unsupervised access to children. So it's just that when the background check comes in, we don't have to have wait longer in order

for us to Yeah. In order for them to get >> Thank you for clearing that up. Perfect. Okay. I like it. Yep. Okay, I make a motion to approve the 2526 contracts. >> Motion from Katie Brown. Do I have a second? >> A second. >> Second from Katie Marcus. Any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. I. >> All those opposed, same sign. >> We're just going to say thank goodness none of us were related to anybody on. [laughter] >> I don't ever worry about that. >> It might. >> That could have been ugly. Yeah, it could have been bad with all this here. uh delinquent lunch account procedures. >> All right. So, we do have some delinquent accounts um and we do not have a clear procedure as to how to deal

with those. So, we met um and kind of outlined a uh procedure which is attached that gives you dollar amount and what will happen in the place of those um like monthly letters, quarter letters, bianual um but it's all spelled out in the collection procedure. Did you find these letters from someplace or did you write them all? I wrote them. I thought they sounded very good. >> Any questions? >> Do you have a number? Do you know? >> Say again. >> Do you have a number of how? >> I believe I brought a number last month and it was somewhere in the range of like $9,000. >> Was it okay? Yeah. Got it. >> Um, now that being said, um, just from us even talking about it, [clears throat] um, Melissa at the elementary school

said that she's collected like $4,000. >> Oh, wow. >> Oh, awesome. >> So, and she's on she's jumping on the bandwagon of let's get send these letters out. >> Okay. >> We discussed it at one of them meetings, too, and we figured that most of them were paying. It just hadn't gotten through, you know. Y >> well and I think just the the reminder right >> like we had in our discussion on the last time inconsistencies just from the elementary school to the high school and how that was and this way it's the same at most schools. >> Yep. >> That's good. I make a motion to accept the lunch account procedures listed. >> I have a motion from Katie Marcus. Do you have a second? >> I did. >> No, I did. >> No,

you did. Good job. It's about time, Kyle. [laughter] >> Uh, now you got me all my See, that's why I had to do it. [laughter] >> Is there any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. I. >> All those opposed, same sign. Motion carries. Student attendance agreement. >> All right. You have a student attendance agreement attached. Um to approve that. >> I make motion to approve the student attendance agreement. >> Second. >> Have a motion from Katie Brown, a second from Katie Marcus. Is there any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. All those opposed, same sign. Motion carries. Gardenou. >> Before we get too deep into this, this is my sister-in-law. >> Okay. >> Taylor. >> Yep. >> So, it um Okay. >> But just drive

me crazy. >> But does she [laughter] does she need in there? >> Well, that's later. My thought is if she's needing to. >> She does need because she's already um been looking at fencing, >> but we're not giving her money, are we? >> No. >> So, it's just approving theou. >> Yeah. >> We're not giving her money. We're paying for supplies for the garden >> in in L of payment. she's taking on the um management of getting it going >> up and moving so that it can be utilized by other teachers and she would also be utilizing it as a teacher as well. So, but um she has a a business that she would have a portion of that too, but really we're purchasing fencing and to get it up and going so that like

the kitchen there's talk of the kitchen using it to plant, you know, for food to table type programs. >> Um I think she talked about growing pumpkins and then har, you know, harvesting those and doing activities with students from the elementary. So, and then of course Ryland mix could be utilizing it as well. So, it's about getting it up and going cuz it's been neglected for a number of years. >> We do have the special meeting. >> I was going to say we're putting on that >> that we could table it to not comfortable since she's such a um there's a close relation. >> You're the boss lady. >> Yeah. table. >> Say I make a motion to table the garden until our special board meeting next week due to close relations. >> Motion from

Katie Marcus and I'll second it. >> Is there any discussion? Any discussion? All those in say in favor say I. >> I. All those opposed same sign. I see 2410p first reading. >> All right. So we have uh the high school graduation requirements. um policy did not align with the new change in law. Um I did notice on the first one that you have there is our existing one which doesn't align. Um but the second part does and there is an option on the first page. um number one classroom teacher or two a college professor to the students report card we put classroom teacher because we just utilize teacher record in those situations so I would choose option number one that was the only option right >> okay >> so of course this is the

first reading have to approve uh the next regular y Okay. >> Any questions? >> It's the phrase at the end that I believe is the one that's missing from our policy. So, if you look at the >> MTSBA model policy, it's the educational disruption phrase. >> [clears throat] >> My computer's about as a sloth right now. >> So that's the piece that's added. >> Mhm. >> That's a piece that that um the new that the law added that we missed getting into our policy. >> Okay. Let's just >> Oh, my computer started moving again. >> It'll show me. It won't show me one page. Yeah, let's just There we go. 118. Okay, it's fine. Just give me a minute. I don't have any questions. You got a chance there. >> Show me yours. >> Thank

you. >> Okay, you can go through it. It's the that bottom section. That's what she said. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I do know this one. Yeah. Okay. Okay. I don't have any questions either. >> Okay. All your review second reading. >> All right. So, this is the second reading. Um um we have these are all updated by the way. So, the ones that appear in your packet are the ones of all the the optional language and all the changes have been updated. So, it's a matter of approving them unless you have some that you don't want to approve that show that are. So We just reviewing the twi two times. >> This is our sample. >> Just two times. >> Yep. Yep. >> On the second time approve them. >> Yeah. >> Or not.

Do you have any questions? Which one? >> No, I don't have any questions. >> I'll make a motion to approve the policies. >> A motion from Katie Marcus. Do I have a second? I'll second. Any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. >> All those opposed, same sign. Motion carries. Recognize superintendent resignation. Anybody? No. Fearless leader decided to resign. >> Okay. And I think we all know that. you know, just need a motion to accept it. >> What if I don't? >> What happened? >> I don't know. I've never had that happen before. [laughter] >> We all sit here until we die. >> I'm very stubborn. I can sit here and wait a long time. [laughter] >> Okay. I make a motion to recognize the superintendent's resignation. >> A motion from

Katie Brown. One second. I second >> and a second from Katie Marcus. Is there any discussion? This is where the community stands up and says no. [laughter] >> Any discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. Same sign. >> Can you add that? >> Motion carries. >> Uh, next school board meeting, Wednesday, March 11th, 7 p.m. right here. A motion to adjurnn. >> I make a motion to adjurnn. >> Who did it? [laughter] >> Have a motion from Katie than you. >> I'll second it then. >> Any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. I. >> Motion carries. Be burned.
