001The order will take to the flag of the United States of America. of the board of trustees or committee subjects to the open meeting laws being recorded in accordance with section 2-2-3012-3-202-3-23 and 2-3-24 NCAA all members of the board committee staff and public attendants are advised that the public portions of the meeting will be recorded in both an audio and video format cameras and recording devices are placed throughout the meeting room to complete these recordings everyone in attendance is mind minded to honor basic rules Dorum during the meeting and guidance associated with providing public comment as stated in policy 1420F. By remaining in the meeting, the those present consent to being recorded and displayed in the footage that will be posted on the school district's website. Uh public input comments must be non-aggenda items related
002to topics under the jurisdiction of the molded school district. Uh, dollar visitor sign in. I see one come in late there. Dollar. Any public comment? Yeah. >> Motion from Katie, a second from Jessica. Is there any comments? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. I. All those same sign. >> So let's see. You can see the ones that were attached to affected, right? Yes. >> Uh yeah. >> All right. So we we will start with 520 or 5120. Sorry. This is a first reading and there's an option in the middle. Uh 51. Thank you. This is first reading you. So, >> yep. >> Yeah. >> And the option is is listed there in the middle of the page. All right. Um 5314. That is the second reading. We crossed out the last line and
003we so it aligned with our CBA. >> Do we need a vote on that one? >> Yes. >> Y for that one. >> Yeah, we got two more that are second. >> Yep. Um, the next one I have the electronic resources and social networking. I never did get an updated version of that from the attorney. So, this is an old one. So, I'll bring this back for for reading what I hear from them. >> Which number is that? >> Uh, sorry. 50 or 60. >> I didn't have I didn't have that one in the packet. >> Okay. No, >> because you don't Yeah, we didn't have that on there. We'll bring that to the >> All right. The last two are second reading. That's 81 uh 8100 and 8110. Uh we have the bolded language
004in there that was changed. Just a point of clarification, the language does say um transporting any eligible student for a bus driver of less than eight and then it says greater than eight, but it doesn't actually address if there's eight. So, it should say eight or less or the or eight or greater days, however we decide to do that. It only says less than eight and greater than eight but it doesn't actually address if it's eight days >> which way it falls. >> Okay. So then it would it's eight days or less. >> Okay. >> If whatever the intent was >> yes >> so I think we more than it two weeks. >> Yeah it's so that's eight days or less will not be >> Yeah. anything >> greater than eight days is um by
005the superintendent. >> Now you're just going to have less than or equal to. >> So it will um let let me know if this suffices. The district will not reimburse the parent or guardian of a student for individually transporting any eligible student for a bus driver absence of 8 days or less. >> Yes. Okay. Okay. >> Uh 8110. Everyone see that? Okay. >> Yeah. >> Okay. have a motion. >> I make a motion to approve 5314 from Jessica second from Katie Brown. Any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. I. >> All those opposed. Ready for the next ones? >> All right. Um I'm going to talk about 1014 FE and 1042 FE form one. So two at the same time. Um 10 uh 1014 FE is a um increase in the valuation
006of a home. uh they went from 100 to 300 and 600 the valuation of a of a home. Uh and then that form that follows also indicates that change. So you have a 100,000 300,000 and 600,000. That's the only language change you have. Are these all for three? >> Yes. >> Okay. Um election uh policy number 1111 that is just uh increase or change in the days. So no sooner than 145 days and no later than 85 days. That's for a declaration to intent for a candidate to run for the school board. and 10 or I'm sorry 1210 qualifications, terms, duties of board officers. Um this is subtraction of some language. Um and basically the the change is the chair person has the right to participate in all board uh meetings in a matter equal
007to all other trustees including the right to make and second motions participate in debate and vote on all motions being uh before the board. >> Can I ask a question here? Isn't it Robert's rules of order that the chair cannot make motions or second? >> Yeah. What is that? Um, I guess I missed the language on that. That is Robert's rules of order. He's the tiebreaker. >> If there's the voting, but making motions in seconds. >> Yeah, the chair is not supposed to do that. >> And that's what's being suggested by MTSBA. Now, we don't have to follow that. >> No, >> I think it's worth considering before we vote on the second reading. Okay. Policy 1310. There are uh three options there. Um district policy procedures on when you adopt a policy whether it's
008at third reading, second reading or immediately. I'm choosing option two which is what we do now during the sec after the second reading it's adopted. Policy 1700 uniform complaint. um we have that there was deletion of language and then an addition of a lot of language to it. So I'm not going to read it all to you. Um but there's several uh the processes have been added to effects. Uh policy 2132 student and family privacy act uh privacy rights there was some deletion and about surveys general information about survey surveys and then they added a big section on parent right regarding surveys that's at the center of that policy. Then we have procedure 2162 section 504 procedure. Uh we have a 504 policy. This is how we work in and enact that that policy. So
009this is just a process that breaks down how we how we are uh using 504s and making sure we're following them all the way correctly. It's several pages long. >> So, so that policy is a full addition. >> It's a procedure, >> but well, but it's a whole new one. It's not one that exists, right? >> It's the procedure to the policy that we have. >> All right. So, now we have policy 30, I'm sorry, 2335. Uh there is the NF1, human sexuality instruction, identity instruction. That's the annual notice. Um there's the 2335 NF2 which is the opt out policy or us our notice is a what is the day it's like so many days notice sorry 5 to 14 day notice. So, us not notifying parents that we're talking about those things. And then
010there's a form on the back of that. And then there's a 20 uh 2335 and F3 that is another notification uh to parents and then a opt in to that. All right, we've got policy number 3410, student health. lots of language changes in that. It's a lot of red and some scratching through um of the language of that. That's that's just some additions and some deletions to our existing. Then we've got 3510 school sponsored activities. Uh in the there's numbered items here. The third um item is number three. uh extracurricularcurricular activities. There are two options in that one. Uh option B is um students enrolled in grades 8 to 12 or 9 to 12. So we don't necessarily do 8 to 12 in all activities. We're not strictly 9 to 12 in all all activities.
011And then option C is more is explains more closely to what we know is that it's up to administration, you know, if we move kids up from eighth grade. And then it also talks about additional coaches if necessary. There's additional language added um throughout this policy also. So then we got 3612 last one um uh school provide access to electronic information services equipment and networking. basically that's talking about our networking and stuff. But the addition has to do with um uh using artificial stuff and and like artificial intelligence and um potential cheating and things like that. So it's just a little addition to that policy for that to cover AI, I guess. So that is just a rough brief of the ones that we talk about next month. >> So maybe for anybody have any
012questions like maybe we could see if for the next meeting we can probably >> I'll just send them to you. Yeah, I'll just scan them and send them over as a packet. How's that? Thank you. >> Um I could go ahead and do that tomorrow if you want me to so that you guys have it. >> Okay. Thank you. All right. So we have a proposal in front of us. Keep in mind this is part of our strategic plan area A1 decision decision to um move forward with detailed easy um elementary school assessment. So Heather and I met with Mckinstry and basically they gave us a proposal to do a deeper dive into tearing apart what it would cost us to to look at fixing everything up to code basically. Um so the the um
013the the proposal you have in front of you is for nearly 78,000 or 79,000 sorry to do that and we do have some of that information already in last year's report. So basically uh we have three options here in front of us. A detailed assessment to get exact cost to renovate the elementary school. Okay, that would be bringing it up to um we have also the option to then just do the basic maintenance um that we had in our report last year. So, but we would you know just fix what we can not knowing necessarily what additions we would run into um in that process. And the last um part of that that uh proposal is to look at the cost of a new build. But we do have that information already in last year's
014report. You know the the rough cost of a new build. >> I make a motion to table so that the building committee can have time to review the details that come with the recommendation. I have to continue to do so. >> A motion move with Kate Marcus to have a second. >> So I haven't asked any questions that this was building committee wasn't on this at all. No, we just dropped that. So we haven't had a chance to meet and discuss any of this information. Um was the this other one that says 2024 was building committee on that a building committee? Yes, on that one. Yeah. Second. Motion from Katie, a second from Jess. Any discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. >> All those opposable that approve advanced opportunity grant. >> Okay.
015So, uh, Mr. Ble worked with, uh, worked with, uh, some of our teachers. This is part of our, um, strategic plan area, too. Um, but we needed that strategic plan in place, and Mr. B can correct me if I'm wrong, but we needed a strategic plan in place to apply for this grant. It was part of that. So, um, he worked with, uh, several teachers on to proposing the plan that you have in front of you. Um, Mr. Bleith, if you want to add information to that, you may go ahead and do so. Um, yeah, we talked about before, this was a grant that before was based on how fast you get it turned in and then it wasn't available after that. But now this will be this will be funded. So each school who
016applies appropriately as part of the stars act. Um and so this is the the primary purpose of the advanced opportunities grant from the state is to remove barriers for students to have access to um like high higher education u classes, dual credit classes, CTE type classes or career based opportunities, opportunities to earn a licenses license certifications, things like that. Um, so it's really supposed to remove barriers, reduce out-of- pocket costs for students and things like that. It's kind of pretty specific on what we can spend the money on. Um, but there's a lot lot of things that fit into the parameters of it. Um, so the grant itself is pretty it is by design pretty generic in terms of oplining the different areas that we would like to pursue with the money once we get
017it. Um, where it gets more specific is once you have to do the accountability part, which is then tell them how you spent there, then you have to be pretty specific about where it went, what type of classes you offer, what type of opportunities were offered, how much we spent on it, how much students participated and benefited, things like that. So, the grant is pretty generic. Um, and the reporting is get specific. And so, this grant opens up on December 1st. It needs to have board approval and it be signed off by the board chair in order for it to be submitted. Um so yeah, go ahead. >> It's a predetermined amount by >> Yeah, it's it's based off of um the formula is based off of just follow the educator payment and then what
018type of district you are. And I want to say that we would we're like uh like 16 or 18% is what come to my mind that you get an additional like eight 16 or 18% of your district's quality educator payment. >> Do we know what that number is? >> Is it the single or the double? I don't know. >> Yeah. So that's the question that we don't have an answer to is whether it's our single QEP or the double QEP that we get with stars. So, >> but I when I figured out when we were first applying on this, I looked at both numbers and it was somewhere between like 33 and >> 66,000. It's a significant >> it would really provide some pretty cool opportunities. >> Okay, great. Thank you. I make a motion
019to approve the advanced opportunity group. >> A motion. Do I have a second? >> Second from Marcus. Any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. >> All those opposed same sign. Committee report. We are here October 21st seems very hard. >> Long time ago. >> We talked about like Mr. Ble and Terra were already all over the staff photo directory and update. >> Yeah. on the board photos and on the I saw that there was a picture on the website of like the volleyball thing popped right up when I looked on there. So that's been going. We filled the one to one special ed and the title one para already for review of the policy. So most of it's all in the little minutes and I feel like things I checked
020off the things that we did. So school's moving right on. >> Anybody else? me. >> No. >> Building. >> Nope. >> Okay. Administrative reports. It's first. >> Is it first in the packet? I thought Miss Debuches was first in the packet. >> Yeah, it's from Heather. There you go. Sorry, I just saw Heather's name. >> Oh, yeah. No. You get to go first. >> Okay. The tool. >> That way nobody gets to steal your thunder. >> Our tool cap backed out. Uh because >> I know. >> But wait till you hear why. >> Okay. So they had So they're going to have a mechanic look look into it more in depth, but originally there's like a plate that you're like the buckets attached to that was bent. So they tried to straighten that out and
021then he came back after he took it home cuz he had tried to put like a plow on it or something like that and something is bent. I'm thinking the arm or how it extends out. So that's all bent too. So he backed out and all the new machines. $25,000. So, the the uh the mechanic guy, the head mechanic is going to be looking at it and see what is actually wrong and what we need to do from here. >> They're not going to work on it until they ask. >> Yeah. No, they would tell us what's the issue. >> Yeah. >> How do you know they didn't? >> They worked on it. That's another thing. >> Yeah. Great. >> So, can we just take it to a different sign somewhere else? >> I'd be
022really curious for Garrett to look at it and say, "Oh, yeah. It wasn't like that." Or it was >> a picture. >> I mean, they they did an assessment of it when they took it. >> Yeah. >> And they said it was worth $60,000. >> Well, there should have been pictures when they found it. I didn't I don't see any >> posted it, you know, on the website or something. So, >> there should be some original pictures somewhere. >> Yeah. I don't know if it's visible damage or if it Yeah, but it just seems it seemed odd to me. All right. um had my had my superintendent meeting um and they had a guest speaker there from MSU Northern um and they were talking about uh students teaching uh people that are are the one
023of the requirements from OPI is to diversify their clinical experience meaning they can't stay at one school or one classroom they have to go around and other experiences I know. And uh so basically it is a thing that OPI has implemented um and it is hugely impacting those rural schools like us that you know we can't get people to help us out with those things. They said 25% of their students are on emergency uh certification. And the plan basically moving forward is to he's reaching out this this gentleman from Northern is reaching out to other um mass or administrative groups to you know get the word out. And so basically each mass group that I'm part of for example will write a letter as a group saying that this is a poor rule. We don't
024you need to change it or you know what what they do with it is a is another story. Um, we do again, once again, we have a uh rep from OPI, Jenny Jarvis, who was there. She explained a little bit on the AI guidance. If you want to read that, I have that. It's very entertaining stuff. Um, but they do have a policy, I believe, on MSGIA. Um, there is a pilot program for mass testing uh for the science portion um for 6 through 8. Uh the government shutdown really is not making a lot of problems but it is uh affecting those student those schools that have an impact. Um they talked about the colony school investigation that happened in oh not our colony. So um I think it's Liberty Liberty School or something like
025that. This was last year. I mean, they've got lawyers calling their school districts and they've got FBI um >> individuals, >> what investig it has something to do with the retirement, I think, you know, the district paying for and then the colony school, you know, I don't know the the details of the case, but um it's been a issue for about the last year. And so now you've got the FBI and the lawyers of of the colony are calling these schools and it's really up to OPI or not even OPI the state to do something about it. Um Larry Crowder was there recommended that school districts should start negotiating now. Um we shared some conference dates um reminded the superintendent about their negotiating process. shared some uh vendor vendors that are at the the um
026events that he goes to. Uh my administrative group met, we talked about the strategic plan uh meeting that we're having this Friday. Um and then we talked about approving time cards. Um there's not really a uniform process. Some of us are approving time cards. Uh some are not. So we need to look at that. Uh we shared the Masonic uh grant for music, drama, science on the library type stuff. Um I don't think we we didn't determine anybody who had any issue or needs for it at the moment. >> Well, you gave it to some of your teachers. >> Um teacher work day on November 21st. We're going to do some training on accommodations and modifications with Bear Prop Cooperative. Um we're going to start uh talking about math curriculum uh across the grade levels.
027Um and then there'll be some building level meetings after that. Uh future topics for teacher work days uh email scams. We talked to Evan a little bit. Um so a little bit on security. Mr. um Huitt is looking into some lockdown training um that he would like to look into and possibly bring. And then of course our math curriculum conversation is going to be ongoing um in the future um teacher workday meetings. Uh and then one of the things was elementary school middle school transition. So when we get to the end of the school year, we want to have a a plan for transitioning our fifth graders coming to sixth grade and our middle schoolers going to high school. Just kind of have a a plan on that. And then last but not least, uh
028our wonderful rep Jessica went to um MEL and we did get the Golden G award again once again this year. So we probably should do a picture or at the end whatever. >> All right. All right. That's all I have for you. >> Thank you. >> Who's next? >> We're going. You're out. >> I I will let you know that I was not the first this month. >> Congratulations. Um, the only thing that I'd like to add to the report that I got there is we now have two drinking fountains to stall. >> Great. Yes. >> So, thank you very much to Garrett the nurse for getting that completed. Um, any questions on anything? >> Very nice water. All about it. >> Awesome. And we're on track to baseboard like we got the supplies. >>
029Yep. Supplies are there. >> Okay. Start breaking a leading word on the call on what they got to do with that. We received of their equipment. >> Congratulations. >> Do you have to spend that 5,000 certain amount of time or just whatever? >> No. >> Okay. >> We just have to once >> notify them. >> Notify and power. >> Questions for me? Thank you. >> Middle school. I have nothing to add. I was either excited for you guys. I didn't see you on yours. Do you know Christmas concerts on your end? >> Uh I Mrs. Mackie. I saw the 15th is elementary. Yes. >> 57 65. >> Yep. >> Middle school on the ETH. >> Yeah. >> On your student um assistance team. Yeah. How many people sit on that team? >> So it's the
030four core teachers. Oh, >> okay. >> Yeah. >> So that's who sits on it. >> Okay. >> Yep. And then I represent side. >> Um is soon a month new? >> Yes, it is new. We just started it. Instead of doing the bug award, the bring up your grades. Yeah. >> We decided to do this instead for middle school. And that'll be how often? Once a month? >> Just one month. >> Yes. just wants to >> and the teachers nominate them and then um Gina Lamb is kind of like the head of it for that group and she puts it in as anonymous. So when the people are reading it, they're just reading basically the good things that they're doing or they're working hard and that kind of stuff. So it's a completely anonymous board.
031>> Awesome. Yeah. You're up. >> All right. Good evening. Uh, a couple things just to point out to you. Um, we're very happy to have the Veterans Day breakfast yesterday here at the school. student council. It was nice to see um those veterans come to our school and participate with our students and have breakfast with them. It's always a nice time each year and so our students have a good time with that and I think they do as well. Um, also want to call attention to uh community partnership of multimedia. Um, Mr. Simon's going to work with KMR to get students opportunities to go into the studio um get kind of behind the scenes look how radio is done, how commercials are made, how ad spots are developed. They recorded some of those um spots.
032They're also helping put together some um advertisements for the Christmas trip loans for the Chamber of Commerce. So, they're working with those community partners, which is exactly what um we want to be developing. And so, it's been a great experience for our kids to do that. And uh I appreciate Mrs. Simon's work on that as well as Ry Tharp. So, willing to take part and bring students into the into the radio as well as Caitlin Anderson for coming in and talking about like marketing strategies and just kind of behind the scenes things like that, which exactly said where we want to take our school and have those opportunities for our students uh be present. And then the last thing I'll just kind of point out, I kind of spoke to you guys about this informally
033in the past, but I just wanted to just I guess just say it. Um so we recently we held a couple of events here in our school with the idea of bringing in community and having them be a part of it and be actively getting engaged and things like that. One was the blue ribbon award that we were going to recognize with our community members. Um we had nine people come to that who weren't already employed at the school and two of those nine were board members. So really as far like outside that realm, it was very limited in their attendance. Um we had parent teacher conferences sort shortly after that and we had I think I'm being pretty generous when I say we had um less than 30 um students represented in the high
034school. I want to say it's probably closer to 20 than 30. Um, and so I guess I just we we hear frequently about, you know, creating opportunities for community involvement and communicating with the public and finding opportun ways for them to come in and be engaged. And when we do surveys, that's something that they want that the public re references. They'd like to see more opportunities for involvement. they don't feel like they're involved or or uh that they don't sometimes comments to the point of not having a voice in how things are done or having a voice in those things. And so I'm not upset that people don't necessarily attend things. I just I guess we need to ask more specific questions of how would they like to be involved because the opportunities that we
035are offering don't seem to be of interest unless there's a ball involved. Um, and that's the reality of it. I mean, if there's a ball involved, then we have great participation. Uh, and that's wonderful. I don't begrudge anybody that. I think that's awesome that we have that. But there's more to our school than that. um where it does cause frustration sometimes is when I hear that we're too much about sports, but yet when opportunities to participate in things or be involved in things that don't involve sports are presented, it's not taken advantage of. And so again, I I'm sure we can do more. I have no doubt that we can do more. Um, but we just need to when we ask our we do our next community surveys whenever that is and I'm not suggesting
036we do a special one before the next one is scheduled to happen. But when we do that, I'd like to see questions in there that are specific to ask of what would they like to be involved in that they're not involved in right now? What opportunities do they not feel are present and they'd like to see? and how would they like to be communicated with um to make sure that we're using the right methods of doing that. And so I think that's just important for us to do so we can get more involvement in things that are worthwhile to be involved in besides the things that currently draw people in questions. Thank you. for all like however the teacher is for >> I put ours at 90 roughly 90% of tennis >> 18 out of
03720 parents I would say that it's mainly sports parents that have kids in the cons boys and girls both play so Can I I mean like and I know I'm probably going to get thrown under the rug for this, but as a parent who was also a teacher, I personally liked it when we and I know I'm I'm speaking for myself when we did the long days and we had it like elementary was half one day and another day and then high school was half that night and another night because like for myself personally, I cannot attend conferences. I want to attend conferences. I want to go see my teachers kids, but because I was doing my own conferences or you know the way the schedule was set up, I was done with conferences at
0382:45 conferences go until 3. Like I said, I'm speaking I know I'm speaking only on myself. Like people hated those days when we went to school and then had conferences from 4 to 7, 4 to 7, 4 to 7. But my personal opinion is I liked it because then I could go and that's also when we had all the teachers like set up in the gym. So then that way we could >> go and I would say that the right way to do parent teacher conferences for in this building we've never found because no matter how we do them the results the same. I mean, it doesn't matter if we have them in the gym, if we have them in the evenings, if we have it during the day, if you have it on Friday
039or during the middle of the week, it the result is the same. Um, so I I understand completely. >> So, I don't necessarily like the the full day neither the way we do it, but at least now teachers have time when they're not having parents come in and see them, they can be being productive and working on things. Um but yeah there we've never found a way to get participation parent teacher and maybe we never will. Maybe it's just a pipe dream. Um but >> but the elementary gets it because they're scheduled. >> They're scheduled and it's a lot easier to go do that in I think in a lot of ways because really for the most part there's a main teacher to go see right >> within a few other smaller ones where and
040we could never have that. We could never have 80 or 90% participation up here. We couldn't get it done because if you're a middle school history teacher and you see 120 kids a day. >> Yeah. How you >> you never can have you never if you had 80% participation they'd still be doing parent teacher conferences from that day. >> State I'm not just talking about parent. I'm just talking about in general like just opportunities for involvement that outside of the sports realm. Yes, >> I'm up. Um, so you guys have my report in front of you. Um, we are going to be partnering again with Bearpaw to um do an Excel adult ed course um Excel workshop. So, I'm I'm excited about that. I think it was a really great partnership and um there's going
041to be more they'll there'll be more things that we can do with them. Um we're just kind of getting the tip of the iceberg right now. So, >> is that one going to be kept too? >> Uh well, we'll have more tables in there, so we'll be able to take more, but yes, it will have to be capped to how many how much room we have in the room. >> 17 what? signed up and 17k. >> Um, so funny. I had 17 sign up. Yes. But there were some people who canceled and then some people who showed up who weren't registered. So it was it just worked out that way. Um, but yeah, the grant training workshop was really good. I thought >> if there was more, do you think we can hold it in
042a lot of space? >> Yes. I my opinion is that like that's a program that people many many >> I think probably I would have to talk with them about it. I don't know how effective you can be with a big huge group. >> Yeah, we can. Yes, I could. Yes. And they've already said, >> "Oh, you mean the grant writing?" Yes. Yes. I want to do it again. >> Yep. >> Yeah. Um and then we have uh transitioned the elementary school into Tyler and Melissa started working on it. So that was not a lot of work, but it was some work. and then I'll continue training with her on it as she gets more comfortable in the program. But that was kind of our litmus test of can we actually do this? And the
043answer is yes. And so now next year I'll start I'll work with Donna on getting the high school and the middle school activity stuff in there as well. And we'll transition out of all of the the other program that they're using. you guys are sitting in your new chairs. Um, we also ordered new tables so that we could get these tables into room 104 probably and have a little bit more space in there. But then also the tables that I ordered are lighter, portable, they're on wheels, so configuration can be changed. Um, they're also stackable. They collapse up and then could be stacked somewhere else. And so it just makes this room more versatile. and it makes it nicer for me as well. When other groups use it, I can come in and real quickly
044get it into our configuration again. So, I think it was a a good investment and uh the audit is basically done. Um just a few little We've gotten them everything they've asked for so far. Um they did ask for a few more little things last week, but got those right in and everything seems to be going well on us. As far as the financials go, we are um for budget versus actuals, we're pretty much on track with uh with everything. The state is being super slow as far on the revenue side. We haven't received any of our grant money yet. We're and we'll be getting our first payments this month. But for even though the grants were approved, they have been super slow on even reviewing my requests because all of my requests were in.
045So this is for our title one and IDEIDA funds. So um and then also our food money is not coming in as fast. And you can't blame this on the government shutdown because those are all forward funded. So that means that the money for this year they actually received last year. So that I don't know if they're just understaffed and having trouble getting reviewed, but everyone's talking about it and they're kicking them back and asking for even more information than what we provided last year for the grants, which is what they said last year. they start they changed what they were asking for because of the um federal audit that they had but now they're asking for more stuff and it just seems kind of random. They're not they haven't sent out a notification saying
046this is what we're going to ask for. It just gets kicked back to you and said oh we need this now. So that's been interesting. Um so it just means that the payments are delayed. I'm putting in the requests every month. We they just haven't they haven't sent out any money yet. So, and then um on our cash balances, we are >> in the negative for the general fund, but this is our tax month. So, that will get um brought back up again now that taxes are being paid. Everything else is pretty much on track. You guys have any questions about the financials. Okay. >> Then we have >> today. I did not. No, I didn't. Yeah, >> I did. Oh, you did. Oh, >> yeah. They'll be available to us in a recording. >>
047Okay. Was it good information? >> I didn't read all the information that came in. >> They always Yeah, they always give a lot of stuff. Yeah. Okay. Okay. All right. Thanks, Katie. Appreciate that. We've got transportation and then technology. >> Good thing it's fairly short, not much time. That's always good news because I mean a lot of issues with stuff. Um um I'll be already in oil changes on a lot of the buses. We're kind of at that phase where we're kind of going out of one season and rolling into another. So it's mileage where it's going to be about that time. Um also looking at maybe some trickle chargers for some of our spare buses because every time we go out the batteries are there expensive anymore. So, I just don't want to keep
048having to buy batteries or that they're in not trust that they'll start if we need them in an emergency situation for a route some morning. Um, the only other thing I have on there that I didn't put on there that is new news is bus number two of the fire bus is no longer on our property. >> Yay. >> They finally came and got it. >> It's finally left the building. Yeah. Any questions? What's the bus driver status? We I know we have a sub for today, but otherwise we're still short. How many what routes? So, we're always going to be >> I know, but that's why I just want to keep if the public watches this, I think it's good to keep reminding >> the our issue now is probably going with some driver
049that potentially would have a school bus endorsement. It would be nice to fit the areas that if those drivers have to be out and can fill them, >> they wouldn't have to be. We could >> hopefully with your right with your approval we'll have one e-class up >> and hopefully I thought I was maybe going to have two out of contact with one and remember to come in to do anything besides that but I thought it was a good goal but it didn't happen. I don't see where if we did have more than one subclass, I think we should jump on it and put them on a sub list. >> No matter if we are in need of one right away or not, I think eventually we will be. So, and potentially if they do
050it, maybe they would go and want to be get the more license here to be able to drive um our other buses because they're not much different than the Suburbans or the Expeditions. Those little buses even though required a full CDL they're they drive like they're driving like a car. So um on the other hand driver situation with like activities I still think we're in desperate need of more activity here period. um maybe not right this second but going forward in the future I can see it coming forward into next year that it's going to become very difficult because of like I said earlier in further reports some parents have kids that are moving out of junior high and high school or out of high school out completely that maybe will not be driving as
051much so could put school in some also other situations right now and they're short drivers for tomorrow, but I'm taking the trip. >> So, break it down for me though, like uh so Zortman and North Wagner are currently E-Class, which don't have the CDL school bus endorsement. So, but if we have like do both of those need, right? >> Yeah, we could use So, we could use two more school bus endorsement drivers to make those full routes plus subs. Correct. Y >> that's how short we are. Yeah. Okay, >> very much so. >> Yeah, >> clear. >> Any other questions? >> Thank you. Um since the August meeting brought all those new computers in place really nice for people sitting web they all got systems and it's nice the laptop docking station solution. So when
052they want to move to a different classroom, they take the laptop with them, they plug it in and now they have a full desktop environment for them to use, do monitors and everything. So those are all uh distributed um internet. The warrant colon has been upgraded from 25 down, 10 up to 100 down, 50 up. Um, that's uh significant upgrade since I figured out last year in September that they were at three down, one up, which is like 2005 speeds. So, I got that upped immediately because that was not adequate for that many eight people to use at once. Um, got the whole district upgraded as well for internet uh from 500 500 to 1 gigabit symmetrical. So 1,000 megabits per second um that's funded through rate. So I thought for 2025 for 400 individuals
053that's easily could saturate that type of connection. Um Buzz Barn camera system. I've got stuff lined up as uh for the list. It's a five camera system, four outdoor that uh encompasses the whole bus bar, one indoor. Um that's about uh 2,800 not including uh installation for that equipment. Um there's still two cameras down at the high school here. Um still working on getting replacements for that. A vigilant cameras are much more expensive and So, it's uh they want you to go through a almost a dealer for that all all the time. One camera could run you $1,500. So, it's it's it's not it's enterprise grade equipment, but it's not cheap for a vision uh camera equipment. Um door access system fuel gym is still not functioning. We've got stuff lined up with a contractor
054at a hill enough long building systems to come out and fix it as well as perform maintenance on it and upgrade the software and replace the main board. Um they're having issues getting the equipment in because the company that supplies the equipment is merging with another company. So, they're having growing pains and so it's still up in the air when they're going to come out, but everything's signed. As soon as they get stuff in, they'll come out and fix it. Um, one other thing I forgot to add on here is uh the elementary bell and clock systems having issues as well. Uh, certain speakers are not sounding bells, so they can't hear it. um uh thought it was one issue but now thinking it might be another issue. So like talking with the guy out
055in Billings that came up and did maintenance on it back in August of 2024. They might be coming up here within the next couple of weeks to take a look at it as well. Um basically to to just get it running properly so they can hear it outside again. Um um bare minimum for that that's $1,200. Uh could go up to $2,400 depending on how much is involved. But >> can't remember does the elementary have a new bell system or >> newer than the high school but uh it was installed back in uh mid 2000s. >> Okay. What was with the whole um phone upgrade? >> That was not that was triangled. Uh that's that's >> So they had uh new phones installed that run off of my networking equipment. Our networking equipment uh just
056basically requires an internet connection. And >> there's an intercom system though, right? With that, not a bell system. >> Yes, there is. Yeah, you can do intercom. >> I mean, you could do intercom with the bell system and with the phone system. That's >> But nobody uses the intercom as far as I know with the phone system. >> So they just use the the the they have an individual phone Shelly and Melissa that are completely different from Triangle that they use to use send announcements over the speakers and stuff. >> So and those phones are just meant to or the the Bellum time systems and you can't even get a D. So, it's just meant for running that system, those >> individual phones. So, but um when they came and did maintenance back in August
057of 2024, they did recommend that they do like a a main control arm replacement, but then they're talking like $20,000 or something like that. So, um just trying to put a band-aid on it until something else comes along. So, but yeah, but that's all that I got. So, >> thank you. >> Next, the easements. So, you should have maps there on your screen. you have the um all the legal agreement information, but I will direct your eyes to the maps if you will. Um track one you see bus garage and the Henderson easement would go um in it's not a red color but in mine is red. Um but the next picture or the second easement trash land two kind of is a big arc basically um just to the left of our lane and
058that's for us to get used to get to our bus. Um what I'm looking for is uh recommendation um giving me the authority to enter in an easement agreement with the district uh on the district path. What I would like to do next is show this to Mr. Henderson so he's well aware of what that would look like. Um, and if he approves that, then I can move forward with our attorneys to get it all written up correctly. And on file, so >> he doesn't know what it looks like yet. >> No. >> Did Did we not develop this with him or I don't know how? >> No. No. He we got it from our attorney just recently. So now I want to take it to him, make sure he's okay with it. >> But
059this has been a conversation. >> Yeah. Yeah. He knows. Yeah. Yes. >> He just doesn't know what the actual paths like. >> So the motion would just be giving >> mean the authority to >> to enter in >> negotiate the easement on behalf of the district. >> I make a motion to negotiate the >> on behalf of the district. >> Motion for Katie Brown to have a second. Yes. >> Second. Okay. Marcus. Any discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. >> All those opposed name sign here. All right. Item number five is um offering individual transportation contracts for the Zord riders the King family and the Senate. Um, we'll do that anyways, even if we get our subd driver. >> No, if we get the subd driver then, um, >> they'll then they
060won't need them. But they haven't, neither one of those families have returned the transportation contracts anyway that I sent. Um, so they might just be waiting for the sub. >> Yes. Yes, I've spoken to them. Yeah. Yeah. Yes. and also the the letters and Yes. Yep. motion. >> Make a motion to approve the individual transportation for damage. Katie Brown have a second >> Katie Marcus. Any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. >> All those satis carries. We have six elections. All resolut. >> Okay. So, um, Steve, actually we had first reading on new policies, which is the reason the policies are changing is because there's new state law. Um, and so we need to call the trustee do the trustee resolution calling for an election this month instead of we normally would
061do that next month. Um, but now the time frame has been extended and this is due December 12th, I think is what they said. So anyway, um in our election resolution, we have two uh trustees for a three-year term and approval of additional levies to operate and maintain the general fund for fiscal year 2027. I can't even believe I'm already talking about this. Uh will also be requested. And if it's later determined that any portion of the election is not required, the board of trustees authorizes Heather Nullles, election administrator, to cancel that portion of the election. So, we just need a uh motion to approve the trustee resolution calling for an election uh so that Kyle and I can sign it and send it on to the um county clerk who runs our elections for
062us. State Yes. Second Brown. Any discussion? Discussion. All those in favor say I. >> Both same sign. >> Approve. Revise DFS. So uh when I was working through the audit with the auditors, I realized that uh our fixed asset sheet, which is a an Excel spreadsheet, was not tying back to the uh TFS. And so I reached out to OPI, which is part of the process. I had until we have until December 10th to make any um changes to the TFS. And so we um I requested that we make these changes. I gave you guys what the old numbers were versus what the new numbers are. It's not anything major. It's just more making sure that the two things tie to each other. Um, and so what we need to do then is we just
063need to approve the um revised TFS and then I have to have Kyle and I sign um the first page again and then resend it to uh Darlene. There's no changes in any levies or nothing like that, right? This is just a what we did last year, a financial report of what we did last year. So, >> but what was the I mean I see the 11,000 in the building difference. What was the what did you find to be the error? >> Um really a calculation error on my part due to inexperience just because it's on a spreadsheet on an Excel spreadsheet and not in a system. So you have to do all of these and calcs over the side. And of course I when I was entering it into TFS, I had I didn't
064know that when it came time for the audit, I finally realized, oh yeah, these should all tie together. That would be good. But um so it was really just my error and not making sure that everything tied back the way that it was supposed to. from Katie Marcus. Do we have a second? >> Second from Jessica. Any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. >> All those post same sign contracts. >> All right. So, we have a title one tutor at the middle school. That's our middle um middle school tutor, Megan Newman. We have a sped one-on-one at the elementary, Emma Pollson. That's pending background check. We have a part-time title one. That's another additional tutor position up to 16 hours. Ma Score. Um and then we had subteer B Grimshaw
065uh in a Zortman sub bus driver Emma Casebolt pending the background check. and a kitchen aid Rita Nordland pending background. >> Have we already? >> No, we wanted we have we have a more of a meeting that >> go ahead. I'm just going to say I need a motion to go ahead. A motion from Katie Brown. Do I have a second? Second from Katie Marcus. Any Discussion. All those in favor say I. >> All those opposed, same signs. >> Snow removal contract. >> All right. Snow removal contract. Uh it is same as last year, same individual, same cost. um was looking to adapt. >> Well, I'll say Trenton did come. >> Yes, he did. >> He didn't have to stay for the whole meeting if he didn't want to. That was the very last. >>
066I don't motion from Jas. Second. Second. Katie Marcus. Any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. >> I. >> All those opposed. >> All right. I >> guessing we next board meeting December 10th, 7 p.m. Motion. Motion from Katie Brown, second from Jessica. Any discussion? Any discussion? All those in favor say I. >> All those oppose, same sign. Meeting a journey.
