to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands. One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. Vayner >> here. >> Dunlap here. Casper here. Lloyd >> here. >> Barry >> here. Superintendent. >> Yes. Thank you. Very excited to announce the district's use of Panorama surveys uh in replacing the five essential survey starting with this year. As one of ISB's approved alternate vendors, panorama, culture, and climate surveys allow us an opportunity to tailor our surveys to the unique needs of the district and the district be able to survey more frequently and gain access to feedback immediately after surveys close. This year, we plan to conduct surveys twice. The first survey is set to take place on October 20th during faculty meetings. Um this is staff
survey as I'm talking about right now um during faculty meetings which will allow us to gather baseline data related to our school improvement goals and the second will take place during the five essentials window as required by the state which is typically in February. So uh we'll survey the staff twice kind of pre and post and students and families will be surveyed once as they have in the that'll be students in grades 3 through eight within the five essentials window in February. So, we look forward to that. Um, in my opinion, the panorama surveys are are better written surveys than the five essentials and the uh results more immediately accessible to us which helps with uh school district improvement. I'm also pleased to report our partnership with Sir Mascar Services. They are an experienced provider
of mental health services to young people and adults in the south suburbs. With the increased mental health needs throughout our communities, this new partnership will allow students to get the help they need without delay. Certar counselors deliver both individual and small groupoup counseling services on site during the school day as referred by teams. It's a partnership. While they're approved by they're an approved Medicaid provider, they also can support students that have private insurance through our agreed upon rate, which is discounted uh due to the partnership. Soma Star counselors will work alongside our school teams and families to create support plans and provide feedback relative to the needs of the school setting. These counseling services are in addition to school social work services and the support of Star Counselors focuses on needs outside school. Excited for
this partnership and look forward to positive outcomes for our students and their families. I'm also excited to announce a new memorial school lighting project. Um, our partnership with Comm um is giving us a 50% incentive on top of their already existing 25% incentive. This is their movement to get us away from fluoresence and into LEDs. Um, those memorial rental projects happened just before the LED movement. Um, so while those the lighting in Memorial isn't old necessarily, it is a bit antiquated. So you'll see that the project has a total cost of $52,000 and the district will be responsible for $2,624 of that $52,000. Um, and the project must be completed by November 14th to qualify for the discount. So Matt and his team uh are hustling. We're excited about that. Free lights district improvement projects
for summer of 2025. Matt is already planning uh what projects we need in the next phase of improvements at central and other maintenance needs throughout the district. So I just want to get that on the board's radar and let you know that recommendations will be coming your way. We have a number of condolences this month. Julie Russell's sister-in-law passed away. And 6.5 approval of personnel items as presented. >> Second. >> Any discussion? Secretary, please call the role. >> Dunlap, >> yes. >> Sorry, I went over. Um, do I call him even though he's not
here? No. Okay. I didn't think so. Hammernick, >> yes. >> Lloyd, >> yes. >> Barry, >> yes. >> Uh, Nanza, >> yes. >> 6.6 Approval of contract with Tinley Council Local 604. AFT AFT. >> Yes. This the new collective bargaining agreement as a result of uh the recent negotiations with the teachers union. >> Is there a motion? >> I move that the board of education approve the 2025 2030 collective binging agreement with the Tinley Council of Local 604. If AFT as presented. Is there a second? >> Second. >> Any discussion? >> Secretary, please call the role. >> Boehner, >> yes. >> Nenza, >> yes. >> Dunlap, >> yes. >> Hammerick, yes. Lloyd, >> yes. >> Barry, >> yes. 7.1, Illinois public acts 96434 and 97-0609. Yes, these two public acts require uh employers uh IMRF
employers to disclose on their website any IMRF employees whose total compensation exceeds $75,000 per year. And the other act uh requires school districts to post their administrative compensation report on the website. Both acts require me to tell you that we did that uh as an information item at a regular board meeting. So that's the purpose of this info item tonight. >> 7.2 quarterly investment report. >> Yes, just a couple of notes. Um so interest rates are doing what they do. They're up and they're down. Uh currently our investments are earning an average of 4.2% 2% which is a little bit lower than it was last year at this time 4.8% but it's higher than it was two years ago. Um but the big item is that Cook County taxes are delayed. Um and so last
year at this time we had over $50 million invested. This year we only have $40 million. So we're earning less interest just because we have less money to invest right now. Um the county is significantly delayed. Those were supposed to be out by September 1st, I think. Um, and tax bills have not gone out yet still. So, we're we're prepared for it. This is one of the reasons we carry fund balances so that we can uh get through situations like this without having to borrow, but um it will affect our interest income a little bit um as time goes on. >> 8.1 communication. assume we don't have a timeline >> on >> no uh December 1st is really the date that uh due dates need to be out by because that's when bond payments are
due for every district in the county and uh those that have lower fund balances will have to borrow just to make their debt payments if that doesn't happen. So that's that's kind of a drop deadad date that the county really needs to hit, but I haven't heard anything specific other than still delayed. >> All right. 8.1 communications correspondence >> to the board of education, administration, and staff of district 146. Thank you very much for the warm condolences and beautiful plant after the passing of my sister-in-law. Both were greatly appreciated. with gratitude. Julie Russell, teacher of Memorial School. >> Uh, thank you for thinking of us at this difficult time. We are comforted in comforted in the memories and support of family and friends. Wendy Wartell and family, >> Dr. Stewick and the board of education.
Thank you for thinking of us as we said goodbye to my dad. The plant was beautiful and brought some cheer during a difficult time. Sincerely, Sarah Lions, Elizabeth Kosolic, and our families. Okay. Can I have a motion to go into close session? >> I move that the board of education go into close session to discuss collective bargaining and personnel matters. >> Is there a second? >> I second. >> Any discussion? Secretary, call the role, please. >> Boehner, >> yes. >> Nenza, >> yes. >> Dunlap, Hammerick, yes. Lloyd, >> yes. >> Barry, >> yes. >> Thank you. There'll be no action after Close session.
