001I've been in student council since freshman year. I'm a word director. I was a mentor previously. NHS committee chair, student ambassador, pep club. I played volleyball here for 3 years. I'm also in HOSA and I'm going to state for that with my group in March. I appreciate how teachers are involved in their students' lives. Just behind the scenes like asking them generally about what's going on, if they need help. Over my 4 years, as I've gotten more involved, there's more teachers where I can just strike conversation with. I can generally talk to them. One piece of advice I'd give to younger students is to be involved straight from the get-go and do not hesitate to get involved. You can test out any club or sport and if it's not for you, then it's not for you, but you can say you tried. I plan on majoring in biology at a 4-year university and then eventually go to med school after that and hopefully become a dermatologist. I'm Rachel Kennecke and I'm the January student of the month.
