care and realize everyone needs a friend and maybe you could be that. We also help and show care for others by volunteering next door at Church Hill over there, helping even the younger kids feel welcome. >> Thank you. >> And if we could please have the representative of True Colors please stand up. Hi, I'm Kirsta DS and I'm the president of True Colors at OES. So, >> how has this club activity helped you feel more confident and strong inside? >> Um, so this club has helped me a lot with my confidence and allowed me to just be myself and not care what others think, especially this year as being the president of this club. During my freshman year, I was definitely not confident or sure of myself, but I was blown away from this club

is how welcoming I was. And now, fast forward to again being their president and next year being my last year in the club. I want to give back and help students like myself also be more confident in themselves and to hopefully be a role model for those that have dreams and wishes but don't have the confidence to do something about it. >> Thank you so much. So, thank you so much for everyone on stage tonight. These were all great answers. I am so sorry, Sarah. I'm so sorry. >> Thank you. Yeah. >> Hello, my name is Sarah Nugby. I uh am representing OE Key Club and I'm the 26 27 president. >> So, how has this club activity helped you care about others? >> Key Club is all about volunteering. It's a student led volunteering

organization and we get to really choose who we help and how we help them. So we take a pro problem in our community and we get to solve it on our own. Whether that's through our a thrift day which we do every year, it's an event where we collect donations from the community and we organize a thrift shop so people can come and shop for free or that's spending time with senior citizens. We had a senior citizen prom recently and we got to spend time with them and dance and have refreshments and things like that. So, Key Club has really helped me like see in my community what problems there are and how I can help them and what steps I can take to do that. I've always loved helping people. Um, and I find

so much joy in seeing them like seeing others happy rather than even myself happy. So, I hope just brings me so much passion to volunteering and I enjoy helping others very much. >> Thank you so much, Sarah. Thank you so much everyone for everyone on stage tonight. We still have one more. I am I am so All right. Yeah, >> I'm so sorry. Okay. Um Oh, >> Hi, I'm Mayan um from Grand Park. >> And I'm Reagan Zawaki and I'm also from Grand Park. So, how has your club activity helped you think in new ways? >> The hope spot has helped me to think in different ways and now I understand making that making good choices help me become a leader and I can understand myself better when to help me re other things. So,

and when I when my peers need help, um, so or when my and I know who my trusted adults are, and I feel confident that they will support me. Help Squad has helped me think in many new ways. Now I feel more comfortable helping people. I am more capable of managing my own emotions and I can help my peers do the same. I can talk to people more easily and I have the courage to be a leader and make good choices. Thanks so much. >> And if we can have finally the representative of Traverse Student Council. >> Hi, my name is Christian Sullivan. I'm the president of Traverse Student Council. >> So, the question we want to ask is how has your club and activity helped you feel more confident or strong on the inside?

Student council has definitely had a big impact on how confident I am and others. For example, when I was in sixth grade, I was very shy and only had a couple of friends, but now I feel like I know half of the school. And I know that might not sound like much, but when you have over a thousand thousand students, it's a lot. Um, student council has also helped me feel strong inside and more confident and we try to do that with every single member here in student council. And big shout out to Miss Z. She plans everything and I feel like she's the like the backbone of everything and she's really made me and just the club like people feel better. Um, and she's definitely have helped like being strong inside and confident like

she's the reason. Well, for all the student representatives here, thank you so much for participating. Um, your answers were so great. And if we could please have you uh please exit um the stage. Thank you so much once again. OSA wasn't on there. Yeah, you're right. >> Wait, is she here though? Are you seek? >> Yep. Attent attention everyone. We have one more question. >> Yeah, excuse me. Sorry everyone, we have one more question. So sorry. Um, sorry guys. Everyone, we have one more question for the student representative of HOSA. So, how has this club or activity helped you feel more confident or strong on the inside? Hi, my name is Kayla Questa and I'm the president and founder of the very first HOSA club at OHS, also known as Health Occupation Students of America.

And how this club has helped me become more confident as myself is through the ability to express myself freely. So, HOSA has the opportunity for you to explore many pathways throughout medicine, whether it be through veterinarian science, dental, um, anatomy, physiology, um, biochemistry, organic chemistry, all those things. It helps me like be a leader for myself. And honestly, there's so many other students at Aiggo High School who have the potential to become more than outside of like what they are in the classrooms because a lot of them excel in like PLTW classes, advanced placement science classes. And so having HOSA at Oiggo High School just helps you become more confident for the future and to explore your interest and passion for medicine. [applause] Thank you so much. >> I just want to thank everyone again

for coming up here and sharing your voice. So, we are going to move into our next portion of the evening which we have our student table rotations. Every club that was up here has a table to represent their club and what their missions are. So, we ask that everyone who is here can go around and see every club and ask questions and get to know the students more personally. The section will be approximately 45 minutes and then we'll all come back later on. So, please get up, explore, and learn something new. Yeah. I'm just like, what happened? 30 minutes. They won't know. We'll just come back. Okay. Yes. The is it Boulder Hills dance? And then you want four, right? I can't help you. We could have your attention. Hello. Hello. Hello. We can have

everyone's attention, please. Hey. Hello everyone. So to transition the evening, we wanted to introduce the Boulder Hill dance team who Yes. Give a big round of applause. They're going to give you an amazing show tonight. So if we could turn your attention to them. Thank you so much. >> [music] >> without it all. Baby, keep the music. [music] Come on. Come on, keep [music] it up. It's fun if you break the floor into a zoo. [music] Everything [music] Thank you. Now we will be doing our signature boulder hill dance. Five, six, seven, eight. We are B. We are B of hell. We are B. We are B. Accountable, respectful, engage. SP. One more thing, we will be doing the SD308 version of it. Now, the same thing but with different lyrics. We're going to exit the same way we Could we give a round of applause to the amazing

Boulder Hill dancers one more time? I just want to say I hope you guys learned something from the event today about the >> We hope you're able to learn something about the many activities and programs that exist across our district. What we shared tonight was just a small sample of the many opportunities we have for our students in school. These spaces matter because they allow students to learn about their interest and build friendships and connections that create a real sense of belonging. And we would also like you guys' feedback. So, could you please take out your phones? And on the screen, we'll have a QR code for you to scan, which is also on your flyers that you received when you walked in. Uh the QR code should be on the papers you received. So,

could you please just scan them and answer three brief questions so we could gain feedback from um the event and use for us to determine our next steps? Thank Thank you all again for listening to the student voices and supporting the programs that exist across our district. I would like to hand it over to Dr. Pelgotti. >> I think uh I think tonight speaks for itself. Uh my comment would be what an incredible investment of care of our our teachers, our educators, our parents, um our school leaders who really support our students. So first and foremost, I want to thank you. Thank them. And then secondly, I really want to thank our students for showing up with such strong voices. Yes. Let's give them another round of applause. I I can't begin to tell you

how deeply and profoundly personally and just professionally inspired I am by tonight. And I want to thank all who helped organize tonight's event um and and and the public form that the board I want to thank the board for their leadership and ensuring that we make sure that our students come and opportunity to speak to the board in many different ways. So that's it. Thank you. there any public comment today? No. Okay. All right. Sure. So, the only thing remaining is some board business. We're going to approve some uh or we're going to vote on approving some uh items. Feel free to leave. Don't feel bad. or you can stay if you want to uh kind of see what we're voting on. You are welcome to stay, but we don't want you to feel obliged.

So, we are not the this there's only a few things. It'll be like another three minutes. Okay. All right. Uh, we're moving to 8.1. Can I have a motion to approve the consent agenda, please? >> I may Wonder I make a motion to approve all items under consent, including 8.1 field trips for overnight and or more than 200 miles. >> Erica seconded. Okay. >> Miss C. Dr. Pak Miss Robinson Dr. Martin. >> Hi, >> Mr. Cerrone. >> I >> Miss Wenmouth Dr. Mario. >> Did you say I? Yeah. [laughter] Motion passes. 70. All right. Action item 9.1, approval of fuel bid for transportation. Can I have a motion, please? >> I make a motion to approve and award a 2-year contract for for the transportation fuel bid to Arnison Oil Company. Mr. Cerrone, Miss C.

Dr. Martin, >> I >> Miss Wedmouth. >> I >> Dr. Mario >> I >> Miss Robinson >> I >> Dr. Pock >> I >> motion passes 70. >> Action item 9.2 approval of Hunt Club ADA sidewalk installation. Can I have a motion please? >> I make a motion to approve and award the Hunt Club ADA sidewalk installation project to Advantage Paving Solutions. Second to yell in the microphone. >> Dr. Pock >> I >> Miss Robinson. >> She said I >> Miss Wenmouth >> I >> Dr. Martin >> Dr. Mario >> I >> Miss C >> I >> Mr. Cerrone >> I motion passes 70 item 10.1 final comments from the board. >> Yeah. Um, I just want to take a moment and provide the opportunity for the board to share any reflections from what they

heard tonight. I think uh it's a pretty slim audience at this point, which is fine. Uh, I will for myself say just thank you not only to the students that came, to their families that brought them, also to all of the teachers and the club sponsors who um facilitate these opportunities for the kids. I learned a lot about the different opportunities they have and I'm glad to hear that they're all finding a sense of community in their schools. >> I have to um second what Dr. Martin said as people are leaving in droves. But anyway, if you were still here, here's what I would say. Um well, there you go. All right, to all you folks at home. Um, I also would like to thank all the students and all of the representatives have put

in some hard work and um, it just again goes to the phrase the future is bright. Uh, we've got some real talent in various and and sunundry areas inside this district and it's great to see it uh, shine as it did tonight. >> I don't have much to add but I concur with what everyone else said. It's really exciting to see the enthusiasm of our young leaders. I believe that there is so much to be learned outside of the classroom and today is a true testament of that. I see our future leaders, I heard multiple groups um which essentially their vision for their groups would be to find like issues that's currently happening in the community and to identify solutions. And so to hear our leaders talk so enthusiastically about the work, I'm just super

proud to hear about all of it and I look forward to learning more. >> Uh I would like to add that being on the school board can sometimes be a drag because we talk about fuel bids and sidewalks, but getting to talk to the students and seeing them light up when they talk about their favorite club is um really restorative. I would also like to say that this weekend uh Special Olympics is going to states for um basketball. So, I hope to bring news of uh lots of medals. So, I echo the same sentiments as the previous board members. It's just exciting just to see the comprehensive knowledge that each of these kids have put into these programs. And when you think about not only the programs but also what they're doing at the school

level, it's just exciting to see the futures of our, you know, next leader. So definitely appreciate everybody attending tonight. I also just want to thank our student board members for facilitating the evening. If you're well here or not, thank you very much. and uh the additional performance by the Boulder Hill team was awesome. So, thank you. >> Appreciate everybody's thoughts. Um just to me it's clubs are a huge part of your learning experience. Um that was obvious today and um you know we got to keep it going. 11.1 have a motion to adjurnn. All in favor?
