[Music] what's special to me about kri is I feel like it's a small town f with a lot of big-time opportunities and amenities we're close to the train line so it's easy to get into the city but even here in K we have cool events such as Wednesday night car show on Sundays we have the farmers market most recently we've had a new Aquatic Center put up sombers Bay so that's been a great resource to our families and the community as a whole I would say the biggest perk of living in carry just all the activities and events that happen in this town like you can always find yourself something to do we have a ton of hiking paths which is wonderful lots of places to fish and also the sports are really great it's

a big uh football soccer and baseball Community but food is wonderful there's a lot of great places the first and foremost reason why I moved my family here 30 years ago was the sense of community I think there is a sense of belonging that is created both by the teachers the students and the parents as well we are a smaller District but at the same time uh that lends itself to us really getting to know each other both in terms of Staff getting to know the kids and the families and the families getting to know us and it's that relationship between home and school that we really value and that we think is really special in our community what what sets carry apart is they have a lot of great ideas and they're willing to

do something about it they felt we needed a newer better playground in the back they got together raised all the money for the for the playgrounds and then not only you know got the materials but spent the weekend to install a playground together what great role models for our students we can collaborate we might not know one another but we're we're coming here for a common goal for our kids and we can get it done I believe is like the diversity of the community so we have a bunch of people from different backgrounds and situations where they can bring a lot to the table and have different ideas that we can work with and learn from and then like collaborate as a team to make like learning fun for all students Carrie is a great

District to work for again it has that smaller size but at the same time has great opportunities for young professionals young Educators to continue to grow in their careers first thing that comes to mind is this is the camaraderie of our staff it's the camaraderie within the district it's the support that that teachers or families would get when they come here the staff is incredible we have so much FD we try to make it very welcoming for everybody whenever they come in to feel like they're part of a family as opposed to just like a very like formal conversation the culture I think that's one of the things that has kept me here because we all are so supportive with each other we get to know each other on a personal level and and a

working level and um we just really care and you can feel that in the building and it just makes you want to stay to be honest you one of the things I think has always struck me too is that when I look around at fellow teachers I see many who were either former students that have now come back and wanted to teach in the same community that they grew up in and I think that speaks volumes our staff is very supportive they will tailor the learning to meet the needs of students um to make sure that every student has an opportunity both academic and social emotionally to meet their Highest Potential we have teachers that are very seasoned in their careers as well as you know brand new teachers out of college and just the

passion that they bring and the care and love that they show to the students is obvious as soon as you walk into any of our buildings the facilities the material the resources we have here are everything that I've Ever Needed in terms of like technology and things for the classroom it's given me and others lots of flexibility to do things in the classroom we get these kids in their first experience at school and they're so excited to learn and so excited to be here and we get to really give them that foundation for Learning and their love of being at school so we find that um to be very special here not just for me as the principal but for my whole staff everyone who works here really does have a passion for the kids

and really cares about them and wants to see them succeed that's what I enjoy working with my staff is because they all believe that all students can learn um and some learn learn differently than others and they recognize that and they work in their classroom to meet all of those Learners car's at an very exciting time in its history we just finished a strategic plan which really outlines five areas ensuring Student Success ensuring that we create learning environments that are conducive to learning that we invest in having the most effective teachers and Educators in our classrooms that we're building strong Community Partnerships and that we're continuing to strive to be financially responsible while maximizing opportunities for our students I truly believe when school districts and communities work together we maximize the opportunities for our students

having gone through the elementary school system here the Middle School System here and going to the high school here I mean you can just tell that throughout your entirety of your educational path here at K you know you really get that experience of hey you know like you are loved and you are part of this community [Music]
