001our last video had us looking at creating a new post for your WordPress site in this video we'll be looking at the post formats which enables you to create different types of posts in the post editor if you look to the right side you'll see the format module here you'll be able to choose the format of your post up until now we've been creating standard articles but looking at the list of formats you'll see we have many options here the standard post format contains a title section and a body content section for you to type into you can also create an aside which is a quick thought or side topic or you can upload a photo or video another option is a quote which allows you to create a quote post link is a link

002to another website Gallery is a gallery of photos and audio is an audio file similar to image or video files choosing a different format changes the style or appearance of the post if your chosen theme supports that format this post format module may not even exist for you if you've chosen a theme that doesn't support different formats the formats will look different on your WordPress site when a visitor visits it each post format is styled a little bit differently whether it be a video aside quote or a photo if you don't plan on using any different formats you can hide the post format module inside the screen options tab at the top of the new post screen if you don't have any specific ideas for what type of post you want to create it's best
