001in this video I'll go over inserting pictures into your posts first I'll have to head to one of my previously created posts from inside the Edit post screen you can hit add media to add pictures and insert media into your post from this screen you have a few different options for how you want to add media you can upload your own photos choose from previously uploaded pictures or even use a URL to grab a picture from a different site provided you have permission to use it for this example I'll be uploading the WordPress logos as images for use so I'll upload my pictures once you've uploaded your images you have a few options and some information accessible to you about the uploaded images you can select an image and over on the right side of

002the insert media menu you can see some important info such as the title caption as well as various display settings for the display settings you have the option to align the image in respect to the text you also have a link to drop-down where you can select what you want this image to link to if anything I have it set to media file meaning when a viewer clicks it it will show a larger version of the image finally we have image size and with this we can choose the size of the image displayed within the post every time you upload an image WordPress automatically creates a thumbnail medium large and full size version of the file I'll insert a full size image and then we can go preview our post you'll notice in our preview

003mode WordPress has automatically scaled the image to fit the width of the content area let's head back to the editor you can resize the image in the editor by clicking the handles on the corner of the image you can also edit the details of an image by selecting the image and then hitting the edit button from here we can change the image caption alternative text alignment size or link you can also edit the original image or even replace it inside the image editor you have basic image editing tools allowing you to crop rotate or flip the image you can also set new dimensions for the image and WordPress will automatically adjust the other value to maintain the proportion you can also restore the image at any time or set in a specific aspect ratio that

004will allow you to crop the image once finished hit the Save button and then update back in the post editor we can go back to preview to see our post clicking on the image will show the image in full-screen WordPress also allows you to add a photo gallery to showcase multiple photos on the page so we'll go back to the post editor and will now upload our images that we want for the gallery you and then in the media menu go to create gallery from here we can select the images that we want to use in the gallery we can also reverse the images or even change around the order of the images there are also bulk gallery settings for you to change what the images link to or even how many columns you want
