001in the previous video we looked at putting images on your WordPress site and into your WordPress posts in this video we'll be going over how to embed video and audio onto your WordPress site we'll begin by taking a look at video the easiest most basic way to embed video on your site is to upload your video to another video sharing website which you'll then link to from your WordPress post these are sites like YouTube or Vimeo once your video is on one of these sites you can simply copy the embed code from the hosting site but there's an easier way to embed video as well with WordPress all you need to do is copy the video url to your wordpress post body WordPress will automatically create a preview of what the video will look like
002now we can head to preview to see what the video looks like as you can see WordPress has automatically resized the video for us you can use this method to embed media from other services - such as Twitter Instagram Flickr and SoundCloud a full list is available from the WordPress codex if you prefer more control over your embedded video you can paste in the embed code from the video hosting site make sure to switch the editor to text mode before posting the embed code in your post generally the auto embed method is easier but this is another way to embed as well we've looked at embedding video and images but we can also embed audio files WordPress will even create a playlist with multiple uploaded audio files I'm going to be uploading a few different
