001in this video we'll be discussing adding new users to your WordPress site depending on the type of website you're building you might have more than one user who has access to your website and website dashboard with WordPress you're able to add multiple users who can access the administration area or to be contributors to your blog posts within the user page from the dashboard you can set up user accounts and it users or even delete users there are also bulk options for the users as well from this page you can also change the roles of each user we should talk about what each of the roles have access to on WordPress the first role and likely the main users role is the administrator an administrator has access to all admin functions of the site in every
002area of the site an editor can create and publish posts and pages as well as edit the posts of themselves or other users an author can create edit and publish their own posts a contributor can create posts but the post will need to be reviewed by a higher ranking user before they can be published finally a subscriber can only manage the profile as well as read content on the WordPress website in this video I'll be showing how a new contributor account works so we can switch accounts on a contributor account you aren't able to publish posts directly and only able to submit posts for review so I can go ahead and submit a post for review from a higher ranking user back to the admin account I can see the new accounts post is pending
003review also at the top of the post page I can see all of the posts that are pending review as an admin I can edit the post if I so choose once I'm happy with the post I can click the publish button to edit a user's information we can head to the users panel and hit edit next to the users name on the Edit user page we have a few options available to us we can choose to enable the visual editor for them when this is disabled it will only allow the user to have access to the text editor we can also choose the color scheme they'll see and enable keyboard shortcuts or hide or show the toolbar at the bottom we can also edit the users personal information such as name bio and picture
