001[Music] welcome back ladies and gentlemen we're not really sure what happened on the broadcast there we uh Eagles I don't know where it went out so just try to fill you inide kick got the onside kick converted on a field goal we're up three nothing then koki Eagles stopped the two-point conversion so the score is currently 6 to3 with 230 going currently have a third and one after about a 10 yard Mason van vaguely keep and run pitch it to the outside it's going to be another first down for the Eagles Jace good for five first and 10 from the 50 215 on the clock that's what happens whenever you're working off a cell phone ladies and gentlemen I'm sorry it drives me nuts but I think we got her up and running now we
002just hope that my phone doesn't die that's going to be the next problem not anymore we got power that's why Josh is here thank you rushing so first and 10 from the 50 First and 10 from the 50 Eagles going back in a huddle staying under Center Eagles going back in a huddle staying under Center go still go still has four down linemen three line backers now they're showing a blitz out of the top which is where we've been running that's all right we'll be able to block it differently vaguely turns around it's a toss again Hudson good job Hudson kicking the guy out only a gain of two but it was a great job kicking that blitzing linebacker out giv a little bit of a hole and this is also something where coach herner's
003different formations can come into handy if you have three four different formations kind of have your defense thinking a little bit not knowing what play or what formation is coming next so looks like we're going to be in shotgun now with trips to the left side Keegan Thompson Hicks and cam janick as a sniffer back empty backfield vagle is watching the back judge going to be a run to the left side with Jace he's going to have enough for nearly a first down gain of six needed seven third and one good holes all the way around good run manageable third and one from the 41 going to have to run one more play before the quarter I like this pace that we're doing on offense kind of running that play clock down see Mason taking
004his time on each play been in full control of time possession we had six minutes and then probably about a minute or two already on this drive big third and about we'll call it two short two 15 seconds remaining do have to run one more play quarterback sneak up the middle first and 10 good job Mason first and 10 with nine seconds that's going to take us to the end of the first quarter when we come back sorry for the technical difficulties I feel bad it's playoff football we can't be affording that Eagles are going to have first and 10 from the Cahokia 39 yd line as they Trail this first round game six to3 right here on KC chess [Music] n [Music] welcome back to kchs for the Eagles Trail at 63 start of
005the second quarter Eagles have the football at the 39 yd line analytics here Jared and I up here in the booth almost looks like that almost looks like that start of the second quarter they look bald empty Back Field Jason is on the right side of vagley he's the motion man they hand it off to him he goes to the left good job there by quo it's good for 15 close to 20 first and 10 Eagles got the football at the 22 yd line good job J quivero that time coming across and making the uh leading block Eagles fans are actually on the track I guess there's no fence over there keeping everybody separated they keep like inching closer and closer we're going to be on the sideline at some point good turnout for the
006Eagles fans across way from us empty backfield ball in the left hash same formation good job here slowing things down I think the Eagles got a little wound up right there got to the line of scrimmage in a hurry now we sit and wait like we said coming in though great job time of possession so far same play to the left side again this time Jace gets in front of quivero good for five yards quivero I guess on that last play was able to kick a guy out right away that time he was trying to log his way up in there Jace is a little too quick for him if we can keep doing these short increment plays I mean we're getting three four yards sometimes five a play so kind of like what East
007salwood River did to us in that one quarter took the whole quarter off the clock yeah doubles to the right side we'll call it trips because we got a uh a wing back over on this side is going to be Janik motion man Hicks from right to left bootle coming back at us is Mason he tucks it he's going to run he's got a first down hold on to the football gets within the 10 yd line first and goal from the commane seven yd line Looks like kahok is going to burn a timeout here their first of the half each sideline with two timeouts left in the second quarter and Columbia sideline getting out over there 63 game chance to either tie it up or take the lead got first and 10 on the eight
008Jared's going to look into some scores tonight because he knows how to do that and I don't I just told him that for the first time he had no idea TJ you over here running the camera all year you're running the camera for us tonight we cannot stream it it's Audio Only obviously but tonight we're going to decide to record it try to put a highlight film together and uh got to have the footage don't we yeah absolutely why not you're going to be here anyway right yeah heck looks like we got Fox 2 flying over top right now we got that's a good angle up there I use couple of those when the waterl came so uh got a little everything going on here now Jared first and goal from the eight what are
009you running here I think we go back to what we started the game with I think we go to that eye formation and toss it to Jace two or three times I mean we've been getting four or five yards AP Pop I think we've only had one or two times where we're only getting one or two yards so I think we line up in the ey formation CU you can run a lot of different things out of it too TJ what are you calling I'm spreading wide because I think they're going to expect us to run it up the middle oh I like that I also have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about TJ were you a football player back absolutely not no I've got a picture I'll show a little later I think
010you were tight end look at this little look at this little uh formation everybody scrunched in motion man Nelson from right to left he takes the hand off side he gets into the end zone touchdown eagles2 Chase nson great job offensive line making the hole leading the way great fake Mason vagley they both would have scored a touchdown I didn't know who had the football it doesn't matter they're both in the end zone Eagles lead it 9 to6 Pat pending it seems like they're having a hard time trying to stop the run to be honest with you we're getting outside making great stalk blocks first of all but they're not really forcing anything inside they're letting us get four or five yards like I said see if we can take a four-point lead here make
011it 106 going back to catch the P he had two of them against Salem kick snap Place good takes the score Eagles 10 hansi six and 19 to go here this has a good feel like that Sacred Heart Griffin game a couple years ago start out on top playing hot playing fast I like it make sure if you are watching and you know somebody else that was supposed to be watching let them know that we got a new stream going now oh I just closed out the app I hope that doesn't kick us off now Jared do you have any other scores from around the ihsa I think it'd be on ihsa.org this week with the score zone Express who else played tonight I got them all starred here let me dig through my papers
012Josh you know who was playing tonight couple there's a couple high school games rockchester poran Notre Dame Carterville Mount Zion and montino and normal u high are all the southern games being played right now Mason this time going to be kicking left to right don't forget we recovered one onside kick it's a pooch this time right down the middle of the field it's going to be fumbled a little bit but finally picked up by Omar Mims Jr he's got a lot of green grass ahead of him he gets the eagle sideline and he just pulls away holy smoke wow Eagles had him everyone was within a yard of him and he just took off Omar Jes it to the he went for 7075 yards there he gone strike kaman's going to go for two again
013takes a score 1210 now we knew coming in they're going to make those big plays like that but it's nice that we've been able to establish something on the offensive side of the ball waste a little bit of clock and we do get ball coming out second half so you got to think about that as well Kia doubles motion man number four quarterback's going to keep it goes up the middle gets into the end zone two-point conversion is good takes the score to 1410 10:07 to go in the second quarter here in kokia just when things are rolling that happens but like you said you knew that was going to happen eventually can't let it happen too many more times Eagles can do it now too it looked like our kicker Mason Cunningham had a
014good angle on him but dude was just a little bit faster angle on him right about the 35 40 yd line the pull away so when you do that squib right there it went right down the middle of the field are you better off kicking it left or right I think actually I don't know cuz then they it's they're going to reverse field at some point I think and that's what I kind of like going down the middle they're going to try to get there so I don't I think then then you're kind of guessing which way they're going to go you got to force everything back inside like we've been saying all year which we've done a great job of all Year guys like Cooper W and Logan Hicks doia sends it deep going
015to be fumbled by cam at the 25 he picks it up bunch of commanches down there going to be a gain of about five that is a line drive of a kickoff picked up by cam no damage done ball at the 30 yd line 101 here to go before the first half Tims do an in Eagles are going to go under Center once again noia taking their time coming out Eagles are going to go shotgun tight end left trips right Bunch motion man Nelson hand the ball off he's running to the right side didn't really have much to do with anything there is able to gain a yard second nine 13 probably their best defensive player has nine sacks on the season always in the back field leads the team and tackles kind of plays
016everywhere on that defensive line moving to the far D end position now towards the Trips Trips to the left side ball on the right hash hard count get him to jump got him goes from second and N to Second and four I think that kind of came up on The Scouting Report didn't it they jump off sides a lot did you see East St Louis how they do their hard counts oh Jared and I were talking about it you see it brenon was telling me about it it is impressive they don't put their hands in the dirt they just and then they all like stand up and act like they're like switching plays and that makes people jump off sides Mason going to keep it this time face mask on the play maybe they didn't
017call out the way ref runs over the referee Mason gets a first down out of bounds ref's hurt he's holding his head after he hit the ground nasty stiff arm there by Mason on the ref hopefully ref is okay but I think if he's not in the way there I think Mason's picking up an extra couple yards made him stumble a little bit after I can't believe you're just screaming at the ref to get out way get out of the way good run there by Mason it's a first down good read by Mason there too because Jace got swallowed up right away ball to the 46 first and 10 for the Eagles four down lineman still three linebackers trips left bunch to the left side ball on the right hash jce Nelson is over here
018on the right I would likely expect him to be the motion man there he goes from right to left hand off to the left side little bit stumbles a little bit gets knocked down lost to three play number 55 Ronaldo fer tack for Ronaldo fiser comes in that was one of the big dudes comes in at 6 foot 310 he's standing out there next to another guy coming in at 64 250 so a lot of size up there on the defensive front they look like the number 10 out there trips to the right side Janik wasn't upb he moved back to being a running back to the right side of egley ball shaded little bit to the left side Eagles have it at the 44 yd line Second and 12 rolling out to the right
019side pass play vagle has to tuck it runs gets to the 50 good decision good defense on Cahokia brings up a third and five now and he had Hicks for a split second on the corner route but Mason didn't want to take a chance downfield saw that all the Defenders on this side were kind of playing pass and going with the receivers not really playing Mason it's a great job to put his head down and make it a manageable third down try to keep that clock running just try to come out with some points on this drive 722 here to go in the second quarter trips to the left side ball in the right hash this is a big play you got to get it I think to a fourth and manageable if you don't
020get a first down I don't like a fourth and five doubles to the left side Jace motion man fake it quarterback keep Cuts Back Lane gets to a first down going to be good for first down four or five commes needed to take him down fighting for extra yards good job there Hudson Bryant coming trying to push the pile as well first and 10 for the Eagles that's a first down officials yeah I was going to say if they got to look at that that much clock does stop 657 offense doing a great job in this first half time of possession wise just got to try to keep the ball out of their hands as much as possible first and 10 for the Eagles doubles to the left side ball on the right hash Cameron
021janick is your upback going to be playing behind the guard on the left side Jason Nelson's going to be your pistol back running back behind vagley vagley turns around hands it off good push out of the offensive line and Jace gets brought back by number 133 he just brought him back and said no more gain of one and vaguely on every play is watching that back judge till he puts his arm in the air to let him know he's got 5 seconds left trying to run as much clock as possible already six minutes left here in the first half 1410 kaman's do lead but Columbia putting together another drive here already across the 50 to the 43 Cooper white comes on Hudson Bryant goes off trips to the right side running back now is janick
022on the right side of vagle 545 remaining in the second quarter Eagles Trail the first round game 14-10 cantry showing Blitz vagle rolls to the right side throws it not really sure who two third and eight is over the head I guess Keegan was there but he was defended very well third and eight still four down territory here if you're the Eagles so no scores up yet for for a we the only score SC that's up good job coach stay on top of it good [Music] job third and eight Hudson comes back on coup goes off doubles to the right side ball nearly on the right hash now it's going to be an empty Back Field doubles right motion man I imagine is going to be Hicks as he's couple yards back deep here he
023goes in motion fake it to him back across the field one block make a block out there out of bro he gets that block good job first and 10 gate of 10 great play out of the Eagles right there Brody furo did just enough got in the way and that's why that play went for 10 yards first and 10 there's a lot going on there on that play I mean you have Hicks in motion which they think he's probably going to get the ball or quarterback's going to keep it and then whenever you see the quarterback roll out Hicks is standing there by himself all forget that he was maybe going to get the ball there go right back back to him like a little screen pass almost great play call there by coach Herer
024pick up another first down five minutes to go now in the first half man if the Eagles can get on the board here again even with three I'll take it trips to the right side ball in the left hash single receiver out wide to the left I believe is Hicks might even be Jace Nelson it is Jace to the left side that's R got he got him the touchdown Eagles no incomplete great defense on the play man he was right there perfect ball from vagley perfect route had him beat had about three four yards of Separation there in the endzone would have been a touchdown Jace but couldn't haul it in and now you got second and 10 the clock stops that's all right can't let that beat you stop this drive now 442 oh
025man great move great ball all the way around that play folks made coach stump stand up too we'll just tell you how that should have been a touchdown there but next play second and 10 here doubles stack tight to the right side Jace is the motion man from left to right good patience there like that good cut good blocking all the way around gain of three third and seven man TJ do you have a good angle on that one there I did I'm not much of a talker okay I don't know I mean I have you off mute this week you've been waiting for that all year listen and you're not taking advantage of don't ask me about football you want me to stick in the little Jabs and make fun of you guys I'm
026all in but if you want me to talk about football I'm not the guy all right will you teach me two football I'll teach you anything just don't eat me Eagles going under s are heavy third and seven four minutes to go in the first half Bley pitch to the right side ah Hill missed a block there hey this is a 50 yard attempt you don't do it do you all right okay you're going to snap this ball at 305 kokia has two timeouts do you pun it I think so pin him still running here I R I run this all the way down you burn one of your timeouts you got two as columia as well fourth and 10 from the 32 looks like we're going to be in a little spread formation though
027looks like we might here comes a hard count go for it but we're known to look like we're going to go for it and then Mason drops back and punts it but we'll see what we have here on Fourth and 10 315 left in this first half moan man Coupe fake it to him vaguely steps up he's got Logan Hicks over there and it falls incomplete I think int Ed though closer was jce Nelson turnover on Downs 306 Co he gets the football now Mason took a big shot there hands on his knees after that play guess what now you got to turn around and play some defense try to get us a big stop here this is a big drive this is your uh I don't want to call ball game drive here but
028this can be a huge Turning Point yep 14 10 306 left kokia takes the ball now at the 32 yd line motion man number four quarterback sets up looking for a screen now he's going to scramble good job there eagles not getting fooled gain of maybe two good job Cooper W didn't get fooled and tried coming back in to make the play on the screen but just ended up I mean let's see CP comes in I know we talk about his size he doesn't play like he's 57 160 but Ronaldo Fisher coming in at 6' 310 I know who I think's going to win that one doubles to the left side moved to a fourman front now everybody's kind of moved up only seven six yards off the ball even our safeties good job there
029the Back Field gets through going to be a gain of about 17 hean was there at the line of scrimmage missed it big game Keegan Thompson there on a on a blitz it looked like kind of lunged out for the tackle should have broke down a little bit and if you get ran over you get ran over but at least you're slowing them down took about six Eagles just to bring down the running back pushing the pile ball right at Midfield on the left hash 238 left in this first half motion man going to be Mims junor running to the outside good job good job there there's a hold right there they called it going to be big gain 15 20 yards coming back going to be a 10 yd penalty on the hold I
030think that was Keegan who made it back there again did a great job of almost forcing it back in but the hold caused it caused him not to be able to make the play going to push him back a little bit now we've talked a lot about Hudson Bryant and how quick he is we putting him on the weak side of the field right now and that really opens him up yeah he's going up against the left T well I guess it he's going up against some pretty good tackles but his speed coming off that backside really like that a lot 10 yard penalty moves it back to the 40 yd line 226 clock is running they got 25 seconds because of the penalty on the play clock trips to the left side they're moved
031out pretty wide three down linemen for the Eagles two linebackers hard count don't get him to jump Furlow gets back looking deep vagle is going to be there for the defense under thrown ball it's going to be caught passes complete to number four 30 no way he just threw a late flag there 40 flag it going to be a that play that play was well over that is well over no way that's a late flag well yeah he was in bounds and he just threw him out of bounds if they call that a horse collar or late H I would not like that call is there going to be a celebration after the play could be personal foul on the Eagles late hit on vagley that is terrible that's bad y on the and that's
032wowow wow wow two minutes ago 30 yd play now turns into 45 yards that's with 15 yard penalty ball at the 19 yd line and Mason swung his head around ball was already in the air but receiver made the catch right on the hash marks and all Mason did was grab him by the shoulder pad and throw him out and they called it a penalty trips to the right side ball in the left hash quarterback hands the ball off up the Middle with number eight o running around gets out of two tackles now he's going to reverse field Hudson swings and misses touchdown [Applause] toes tou that ball went up the middle running back ran to the left made it to the numbers on the left side spun around scored on the right hash what
033a swing of momentum that was wow goia going for two once again that's a play you make on Madden right there yeah just not a lot of tackling not a lot of a lot of arm tackling going on but just hard to get get hands on them doubles up back number 34 to the left side they're going to fake it to a running back who's in motion and it's going to be in two-point conversion is good takes the score kokia 22 Columbia 10 Columbia still has two timeouts minute 46 to go on the clock man that's a big momentum yeah especially going all the way back to where Jace could have caught that touchdown in the right by the pylon over there and these are the games you can't have I'm not going to say
034it's a mistake but you can't miss opportunities to score exactly and I I'm not a fan of that uh that penalty flag either here on this sideline I think that might have been one of the sof that was probably the worst one even compared to last week with 30 flags that were thrown yeah yeah that was those were actual penalties last week I mean we we weren't able to block we weren't able to get anything going last week that's why they threw all those penalties cuz they were true penalties but that one there I'm not a fan of it so the Eagles 22-10 now in the first round of the ihsa CL 4A playoffs minute 46 on the clock number six to be doing the kick in short kick going to be picked up by
035coup who just goes down right away at the 35 yeah so we just watched a replay there on the uh late hit I don't know how late that was I mean it looked like Mason was kind of on the white part out of bounds but the dude was still inbounds and he kind of pulled him towards him and just threw him on the ground so sure with that with that call but still do possession game still get the ball at half see if you can go down and get just waste this waste this clock a little bit left side jce Nelson good for Eight Second and two 22 jce Nelson the ball carrier good run there now you got to have a little urgency minute 30 so you've been trying to control the clock all
036night now you got to know we can't control it anymore and you just got to be smart with the football here to you don't want any freak play throwing it down field and letting their athletes loose Jace makes the play again he goes to left side good for another 10 yards gets into kamanche territory ball at the 47 yd line minute 10 to go what do you think Keegan where do you think he can actually kick it from like you think we can from the ground um I think probably 30 y timeout Eagles minute five after the first down like that timeout get everybody regroup grouped and now you can kind of tell them hey we need to get the the Mojo going here first and 10 for the Eagles from the 48 yd line
037105 eagles need to get some points on the board here I'll take like you said Jared even threes not bad just a little bit of confidence going in now we got a coach out in the field for Cahokia going out to one of the officials he was trying to give him water he was just about two minutes too late empty backfield trips to the left side ball in the left hash jce motion man from right to left going to be a play action got in the middle of the field it's going to be dropped again dropped at the 20 off of hicks's hands what a play call coming out of the timeout man oh man that would have been sweet sweet too brings up a second my goodness those plays are there though so don't
038go away from them yeah you had two drops you're only down two scores we're [Music] okay can't miss those opportunities but they might come up later on tonight you can't can't dwell on them now drips to the right side ball in the left hash empty backfield jaas is to the left he's the motion man we're going to fake it to him vaguely keeps it nothing going I think if you're coaching now you just Let It Go outter go to the end of the half Timeout on the field kahok good timeout if you're kokia yeah and the Kaman call a timeout so timeout 46 seconds on the clock tell you our guys are well covered by Mason is just dropping it right in there you know I mean it's perfect right where it needs to be
039and even the ball that he threw away earlier which I'm thinking it was a thrown away ball because the guys were well covered it was still where Keegan could get his hands up it was just might have been couple inches too high for him but I think he's done a great job all year and I think Mason I think I said it earlier this year Dom could sling it but if you look at Mason he may not have as much power behind his ball but he's definitely able to drop it in there a little bit more so and we have three more years of vaguely uh yeah throwing the ball to look forward to X is coming up and half the time Mason's rolling out and he's throwing it on the run but tonight he's
040just been able to stand in the pocket and Let It Go o line doing a great job giving him some time got to catch the darn ball yeah 47.8 now on the clock third and 12 I think if you're the Eagles do you keep it on the ground and force coia to use their last timeout I don't think it really matters to be honest motion man Hicks from right to left vaguely keeps it boot now he's got a set up gets sacked knocked down at the 45 by number Isaacs loss of five fourth and 17 Eagles will punt now with the ball at their own 45 yard line it'll be his 10th sack of the season so he's averaging a sack a game we knew he was going to get his at some point and
041then it comes on a big third down which clock does stop after they burn the last time out 39 seconds so now you definitely got to punt it and just got to just got to guard here and hopefully make make a few tackles and try to get it to half only down two scores make sure if you would like to get into the Columbia quarterback Club reverse raffle contact a quarterback Club member to get your tickets $10 tickets only 300 will be sold if you are the I got to try to remember it now first ticket P it is $50 the 150th ticket pull is $150 and the last ticket hopefully the 300th ticket will take home $300 that drawing will take place at the chicken and beer dance I believe that is February 1st
042at the Columbia American Legion so make sure you're looking out for those tickets as they will be going for sale once you leave out you have to pay to get back in so you can eagles will be punting Mason's going to be doing the punting takes a snap rugby style to the right side gets it off going to bounce at the 29 fumble on the play Ricky Prader was right there good reaction they both Dove for it but it is recovered by kokia good job there Ricky Frader I believe that was him down there just half a half a step behind 55 with his hands up in the air looks like it's just going to be a perfect foul on kokia that's 15 yards that makes the field even longer 31 seconds kokia is out
043of timeouts that sack actually paid off I think for the Eagles I mean if you could ever say that about a sack man we're going to look back at those two possible touchdowns though and we're still in this game but could very very well have a lead right now but got to be smart here somebody's probably got to play center field not let anybody pass you are you in a nickel defense you yeah you might think about it but as athletic as they are you can't let them dance around everywhere tough decision here for the defensive coaches it looks like we are going to be in a nickel set we're g a lot a lot of cushion at that Corner Spot probably giving them 12 yards quarterback looking to the right side three verts he's
044going to check down go to his running back penalty flag I believe is thrown over on the far side of the field it's a block in the back here by 15 crackback block they stopped the clock I'm not sure why that was stopped unless there was a penalty it sh maybe a yard short too I can't tell if it's a flag over on the 20 yard line I think it is looks like white hat and ref on our sideline discussing something maybe a hold or a block in the back which should have been a block in the back that we saw on that came yeah tell you what I got spoiled with having the screens up here for replay all the time legal man downfield that'll work too replay of the down 22 seconds so
045clock should start though right right as they place he should be able to run it if the tackle made in bounds I don't know what they're going to motion here [Music] 21.9 One play here probably takes you to the half so you just got to try to tackle in bounds that's the biggest part here clock does roll clock does start so this might be the last play of the first half trips to the right side last play was four verts they just dumped it down to the running back 10 seconds now they do get the play off throw it over here to Mims who gets up to the 12 I was just about to say you're going to have to watch Mims for sure stops the clock at 7.6 just ran a quick five yard
046hitch route and got out of bounds the top two receivers for the commanches hardles hulleman 694 yards 16 yards under reception and then Omar like we said 586 for 23 yards a lot of guys who are going to be able to down field yeah four leads the team and catches and he just plays that slot I bet he doesn't run downfield very much he catches a lot of Bubbles and arrow routes 83 yards ahead of him number four makes the catch trying to get out of bounds and he does gets up to the 24 it's going to be a first and 10 with three seconds to go with the re Zion Taylor the quarterback like Jared mentioned earlier today 2,29 yards I don't know if those are slinging it deep just catch shouldn't letting them
047run first and 10 from the commane 24 yd line 3 seconds to go only thing that would maybe make another play there's a defensive penalty trips to the right side running back left Eagles bring pressure going to be caught we just got to make a tackle within the next 75 yards good job cam janick fighting off the block making a great play send it the half that takes us to halftime in the first round of the class 4A ihsa playoffs Eagles Trail it 2210 they get the ball coming out of half I think it's a 15minute 15minute halftime we're going to run to a commercial break we'll let it run for a little bit and then when we come back we will talk the first half and hopefully get things figured out this second half

051the area that are playing the playoffs we got Redbud here tonight watching us and uh so nice for them to come up obviously waterl Taylorville dang it he's 86 86 you almost had it so you got Red Buds up here watching us now Dupo and um who's playing Al alof are playing out score was 48 nothing right before half alof and you said the quarterback and running back was hurt for dupa I believe so yeah alov I think might win the state championship by close to 40 points yeah I would agree so let's go to two or their 1A do we have anybody else that we know in the 1A that would be from around our area we'll both look them up here real quick see here we'll go to 2A as well try to
052look them up at the same time vandelia leads uh 347 at half that's somewhat close tomorrow at 300 p.m. chest wow Chester is 8- one and they're the seven seed there is no 9 and0 seed out of the 2A bracket Class 5A uh three seed Mohammad Seymour leads shg 73 at half 3A roxan will be hosting against tono Unity tomorrow at 2:30 Nashville is the number four seed hosting Stanford Olympia at 230 as well New Berlin pretzels played them a couple years ago they get the seven seed looks like Collinsville went down 5413 [Music] a Poria leads 2218 in the second quarter 4 a in our bracket Cole City Le or is tied with Johnsburg 77 Williamsville leading Carlinville 210 at half Princeton vers Oregon listen to that wow and Edwardsville is an 8A School
053playing Elmhurst York and they're getting their butt beat Edwardsville is a 19 seed six and three York is seven- two the number 14 seed that's the biggest school in the area for 8A then you go down to 7A already a final in 7A Chicago Mount carel winning 5614 anybody else in 7A from around this area Collinsville 5414 like you said that's the only other seven A's from down south you look at the maps for the seven and 8 a and Columbia makes a 10-minute drive to come up here you go to seven and 8 a Edwardsville and Collinsville the only two they got to go up to Chicago 6A East Side will play Springfield High tomorrow at 2 pm in that 6A bracket and that's the only Southern 6A school so Jared let's talk a
054little bit we got four minutes before this second half Eagles get the football coming out you're right there you're where you want to be couple missed opportunities but all in all you got to be pretty happy besides two drops you got to be happy with the first half yeah and you said it earlier it kind of reminds you of the shg game a little bit I mean cuz we at at that half we were in the game we were two plays away from winning or being in the lead at halftime um today we're two plays away from being in the lead exactly but I I just think the the coaching staff just I I think they're happy with that first half um you can't really be yelling at your kids down 12 I mean they've
055done everything they can to put themselves into this position only down 12 against a very good um Kia team um but yeah we get the ball coming out at half so hopefully we can I mean I don't know if we want to take a lot of time off the clock but you're going to have to score at some point I don't know if coach Warner wants to keep throwing it down field or if he wants to keep it on the ground and use that clock and now this is a time like you said the clock's really not on your side yeah there's 24 minutes of football left but that's the 24 minutes that could go away in a hurry so you can't let it get too far out of hand yep I guess I missed
056the three minute extended time so we're down to 5 seconds before this uh halftime gets over with thanks for listening again on kchs presented by the Columbia quarterback Club they got their raffle chicken and beer dance uh a little bit of everything going on tomorrow the Blue Jays the little brothers they have their meat shoot going on up at the Columbia American Legion I believe that starts at 11:00 a.m. with the inside Raffles maybe it's 12 I don't remember off the top of my head now one of the Raffles starts at 11: one of them starts at 12 noon so make sure you head up to the legion and support them that's one of their big fundraisers we had vice president Jason Stapleton on earlier this year so make sure you go support them and
057he just bought me a bag of popcorn coming in clutch Mr Stapleton D make sure you support all of our sponsors we thank them all we wouldn't be able to do it without them so make sure you go support them as well TJ one half of football you left potentially on the season what's your message to the guys now well I think they should uh be proud that they're in the position they are I don't think the score reflects how the game's been going and I think they uh I think it gave some confidence and hopefully couple quick scores and let's see what happens we'll see what happens here as the second half is underway good kick this time penalty flag on the play it was caught by Jay Nelson going to be a false
058start on the kicking team come back going to kick from the 35 yd line we have a false start on Kam that of back him up five I think you get a score here I think the winner of this drive wins the football game think a score here you start getting little momentum score and a stop score again you're in the lead it's that easy what did I say earlier this year I said one of those the winner of this drive and I was wrong what game was that it's right in the middle of the Season Roxanna maybe yeah I don't remember now I'll have to go back and rewatch all the games see I can figure out weren you doing that this week I did I tried to make a highlight video and I
059couldn't get canva to work right going to be picked up at the 30 yard line Janet going to the left side our sideline gets to the 40 keeps his feet moving going to get brought down finally at the 43 yeah I had I watched every game cut them all got the footage started making a highlight film and I didn't like how they looked so I wasn't going to put the product out maybe throughout the year we'll have them on the quarterback Club Facebook page you like I said earlier we'll see what uh formation we want to come out in that first drive we had after the onside kick first minute of the game picking up four or five yards of play on that little eye formation that we set up looks like the eagles are
060going to go in that eye formation no vaguely went up to the line of scrimmage he steps back it's going to be shotgun double tight way tight pistol back is going to be Hicks motion man Nelson and fake it to him up the Middle with Hicks gets to the original line of scrimmage maybe loss of one on the play actually second and 11 not a very good play coming out a half we were hoping bringing somebody in motion there we've been running it pretty much all night either giving it or Mason keeping it trying to go up the middle that one didn't work so the Eagles still gonna keep working the clock here going in a huddle up to the line of scrimmage now kokia has a safety playing about 10 yards deep everybody else
061is within five yards of the line of scrimmage trips right bunch in tight as well High snap brought down by vagley Jace puts his foot in the ground tries cutting back up field might have gained two yards third and long for the Eagles big hit there that Jace just took third down and for the Eagles red is blocked good tried cutting it up field she not able to squeak by two of the commanches back there third third and 10 from the 41 yd line eagles need the 49 for a first and 10 trips right Bunch tight single receiver out wide looks to be Jace running back cam janick to the left side of vagle who takes the snap looks right now he comes across number 13's in his face he throws it down deep it's
062Hicks at the 25 and he dropped it ball goes incomplete another beautiful ball by Mason with a lot of pressure in his face too and rolling on rolling to his left side had to kind of turn his body all the way around just to get rid of it number 17 was there on he might have knocked it away it did look like it hit Hick's hands though it's what it's what all the coaches always used to tell me I hit your hands you got to catch it as a quarterback I appreciate that statement Eagles are going to have Coupe on the right side of vagle protecting he runs to the left he's going to try to go for it he's going to go for it get a 50 he needs a 49 he Dives for
063it we're going to see where he puts it I think the official gave it to him him great play Mason vagle great call you got to take chances if you want to win these kinds of games and you gain of 11 first and 10 for the Eagles and if you don't get that you give them the ball at Midfield there you're in a tough situation there so great job to reverse field give it to him good job Mason vaguely On The Run first and 10 for the eagles they only had one guy on that side we had to make one little block but he was able to get off it they met right at the first down marker but Mason Dove about three yards to get it great job great awareness pick up the first
064down 10 minutes and Counting here in this third quarter Eagles Trail by 12 see if we can get something going kaban tried to get a guy on late decided to pull him off and I'm glad they did he would have been a load in the middle empty back field now doubles to the right side looks like kahook is going to yeah they have too many on for they have 10 I think it didn't have enough can hear timeout coming from about the 30 yd line then he had to run down towards the 40 or 45 just to have the ref recognize him that he wanted to time out who's the head coach I can't tell out of kahok is Staff here they all run up all talk just as much doia coming out probably got
06550 or 50 guys on the sideline here Columbia came out tonight I had it written down here seven seniors 15 juniors 12 sophomores and eight freshman 42 on their sideline all together this sound system here yeah the Bas unreal yeah of course we are only 10 ft away from the speaker well you can like feel the base though like it's like shaking that's when you know it's real when you feel it can feel it in your chest ball to the left hash into the boundary Eagles going to have trips left motion man will probably be Nelson from right to left there he goes to the left side into the boundary and gets absolutely blown up loss of five blows up what a play there by number 13 He Got Back In a Hurry that was
066fast now it's going to be second and 15 for the Eagles and again when you get little momentum going can't let that kill your drive nine minutes Inc counting here opening drive of the second half second and long now see if we can just try to make it into a manageable third down under nine minutes here trips to the right side vagle good blocking there out of the evils lineman now he's going to scramble runs from right to left he gets up to the original line of scrimmage low his shoulder gain an extra two third and three good play Mason vagley once again real estate brings up a third down Mason a little the banged up after that play but definitely going to stay on the field Mason doing a great job of reading that
067there's nobody open and able to get that get downfield put his head down picked up about 14 there that's what you want manageable third down third and about three try to get him to jump off sides here ball on the 42 we need the 39 going to go heavy under Center H mill on as you're tight end to the right side hard count doesn't work bagle takes a snap toss to the right side good blocking gets to the 38 yd line is Jay Nelson First and 10 750 to go ball at the 38 Eagles making a little noise over there keeping this drive alive already over four minutes off the clock here in this first or the second half see if we can keep that going keep the ball out of their hands and try
068to punch one in here and make it a one score game because then Anything Can Happen cam was on the right side they're going to move him over to the left now tight end right is going to be Hudson Bryant an extra tackle to the left side overloading that left side which is where Nelson's going to motion over to going to be a quarterback play action down the middle of the field we got Hicks at the five it's caught he's going to get down to the one yd line first and goal from the one after a 38 yd reception to Logan Hicks and look and it looked like Mason overthrew him and he made the hardest probably the hardest catch of the night just get in the end zone right now you don't need to
069worry about the clock you got momentum going koki is walking back to the line of scrimmage yeah I'd get on the ball and run that yeah just get in there even a little QB sneak W the middle like we saw earlier on a fourth and short Mason was able to pick it up might have been on Third and short but 645 now Columbia inside the one Eagles going slowing it down first and goal from the one 630 under Center is vaguely no fumbles here please turn around toss it to the right side good push out of the defensive line lost about two I'm going to go dive weak here I think on first down there you try to catch him off guard and just Mason snap it whenever you want and try to get the
070QB sneak there but try to get it in Jace's hands here half the quarter gone and that's what you want if you're the Columbia offense but still down 12 here got to punch one in here my bold statement winner of this drive wins the game come on Eagles same formation Kia stepping up looking like they're showing Blitz out of the weak side of the formation which is to our left bagely under Center turns around counter met right away right into that Blitz good play call out of kokia on that defense right there coach Horner Burns a timeout 5:30 man going to be another loss of three on the play brings up third and goal from the six ah when you got it inside the one there you have to score great job sniffing that last
071play out though by KIA so instead of Eagles going dive weak we tried to go counter to the left side which still okay with it but when you see those blitzers there it didn't look good from the start there reminder super sectional soccer tomorrow 11:00 a.m. Eagles Take on the bullets of Williamsville make sure you head up to the Columbia multi-purpose field I believe it is $9 if you pre- purchase your tickets it is 10 at the gate so get up support the Eagles one win away from going back to the state tournament once again and the sectional play for volleyball will be going on from ston as your lady Eagles will be playing the host ston on Tuesday winner of that game will go on for the sectional Championship on Thursday hopefully we're talking
072about a sectional championship and state tournament Run for the soccer team next Saturday whenever we host a game in the second round of the playoffs for football vaguely looking to the left side a little whip rout by Coupe throws it into the ground incomplete fourth and five from the five kick it here I don't think so you got to score a touchdown yeah cuz if you kick it that puts you down by nine I think you need points I'm going to go hard count try to get a couple extra yards out of [Music] it don't let this be one of the missed opportunities here if you're the Eagles here we go Eagles fourth and goal from the five let Mason be an athlete you know kahok is probably going to be bringing pressure he's got
073to figure out where from hopefully they show it somewhere it doesn't look like they're showing any pressure just four down linemen that's all they bring vaguely steps up throws it high incomplete turn over on Downs come up the fourth and goal from the five that started started as first and goal from the one like like you said didn't bring pressure on that they just four guys did all they needed to like you said let Mason be an athlete I think you roll him out there and let him make a decision with with his feet or with his arm but it's kind of hard when you're inside the five and you got to roll out you don't know what routes to really run their route Concepts cuz everything's kind of scrunched together together but yeah I
074think I like Mason using his legs a little bit there and forcing the defense to chase after him he's done a great job all night Eagles six down lineman this time going to bust it outside as the running back good job Mason vagley from the three throws him backwards down to the two they're going to give him forward momentum up to the four wow they give him the four good job Mason running the alley going to be a loss of one on the play looked like coup tried to blow it up got kicked out a little bit but Mason out of nowhere kind of got St stiff armed around like the three ydd line pushed them all the way back into the end zone but forward progress to almost the 5 yd line GOI goes
075back to the shotgun formation motion man comes across the formation sets up quarterback to the right side just a quick Arrow incomplete intended for only om AR Mims Jr on defense jce Nelson third and 11 get off the football field defense starting to get a little chilly up here look like 13 and 34 come off they're two Speedy guys four and 15 check back in two of their top three receivers thir on the trip side to the Columbia sideline ball is on the left hash clock stopped at 434 need a big stop here if you're Columbia trips to the right back running right side running back left quarterback looks right now he's coming back across checks it down to number one got to make an open field tackle we're not able to gain of 15
07620 spins out of bounds ball at the 24 yd line gain of 20 first and 10 for the kames and that's enough for kames first down and if you look at our defense we've been in the right spots all night they're just making making bigger plays Jace was there probably had about five six yards to go to first down made him Miss able to pick up first down first and 10 ball in the right hash trips to the left side running back right number 27 I don't think we've seen him yet tonight play action quarterback's now going to have to run he football's on the ground I think the Eagles recovered no we did not quarterback fell on it definitely a broken play there receiver was like running a bubble route but quarterback didn't want
077to throw it to him so decided to try to run it on his own just dropped the football in the back field loss of about seven maybe eight like I said number 27 went on the field for the first time he's a sophomore number 27 just came off the field too big loss trips to the left side quarterback looks to the right screen real quick job Coupe Eagles blow it up gets to the outside we lose contain that's all right vagley makes the tackle gain of 10 third and about seven could have been held on that play good job blowing it up and slowing it down trips to the right side running back right Eagles standing about seven yards deep on defense three down linemen two linebackers Mason's playing up as a safety though kind
078of like a deep linebacker very deep linebacker dokia moves some guys around on the formation still trips to the right side quarterback looks right throws a little snag route gets it complete Mims Jr stays on his feet the re AC the middle gain of about 15 first and 10 up the 43 yd line because we're playing so far off it's easy to just kind of run five yards on the field and turn around quarterback's going to have it right there that little hook to curl area has killed us all season long so if they watch that on film good job there kokia all year we've been beat in that area that are double moves it's all it's been doubles two minutes to go here in the third quarter pistol back running back is going to
079fake the handoff good good job there K muskot misses the tackle but it's only a gain of one could have been a loss of two but good job not falling for the fake and not letting go ball now at the 45 yd line like quarterback slow to get up quarterbacks injured on the play We're going to run to a commercial break while they tend to the injured quarterback and when we come back hopefully we're talking about an Eagle Stop on defense on kchs seven Taylor [Music] Zion Taylor the quarterback is the injured kamane he comes off the Freshman sens sensation comes on Nigel Griffin seven for seven on the season talk about a perfect passer rating there it is right there 158 doubles running back pistol back straight a little bit to the right side
080quarterback turns around hands the ball off up the middle gain of about five third and three Zion Taylor comes back on number seven Zion Taylor checks back in the game another injured kamanche on the play that's the running back number eight now I guess we'll send it to another break this one looks like he's a little bit more pain than another the other one so we'll be be back right after this [Music] welcome back number eight corante walks off the field under his own power makes his way over to the bench and like TJ said you're starting running back out on a third and three now we got to take advantage of it third and three trips to the right side running back right need the 46 number seven again hook to curl area Omar
081Mims Jr Omar Ms J the reception good for 15 yards first and 10 for the commes first I don't think they've made a deep really a deep ball all night besides the one that Mason had to throw him out of bounds and we got a penalty on but everything's been from from the probably the line of scrimmage only five seven yards down field so just got to take care of that trips to the left side now ball at the 34 yd line 28 seconds they're going to get the play off run it to the right side good job by the Eagles swarming to the football gain of four Owen man's going to come on I think it might be the end of the quarter here see what kokia decides to do and that's where it
082hurt you if you're Columbia you took six seven minutes off the clock with no points Kia gets a snap off with two seconds to go they're going to have enough for a first and 10 Cortez Rose Cortez Rose gets down to the 13 that takes the into the third quarter it comes back Eagles are got one quarter got to make a stop got to start with that if they don't the season's over your 11 seated Columbia Eagles Trail the sixc Kia manes 2210 we'll be back with the fourth quarter on KC kchs right after this [Music] he [Music] welcome back to fourth quarter action in the first round of the ihsa last 4A football playoffs Eagles Trail 2210 got to make a stop here go is now going left to right ball on the 14
083133 yard line we were just talking and kind of watching it's a dance party up here they got security guards dancing the players are dancing Jared was dancing oh I'm always dancing I wasn't going to say it on there but you got moves Jared thank you appreciate it I didn't say they were good moves I just said you got moves well thank you appreciate it going to have two running back this time pistol back is standing about eight yards deep turn around fake it to him quarterback's going to throw it out to number four good job by Jace running over the stalk blocker but the athletic ability out of number four hardles homman takes it into the end zone8 1140 and counting in the second fourth quarter that is just explosive speed I mean Jace
084ran over the would be stalk blocker and we're and he's there to make tackle but just too much speed and we all talk about how fast Jace is yeah that made Jace look not fast K is going to go for two again currently lead it 2810 quarterback turns around hands it off Gets behind his lead blockers is the running back trying to push him in Eagles trying to push him out blow the whistle blow the whistle nobody knows where the football is blow the whistle what's the call touch them how do you know that he's in blow the whistle and theion is good hey I'll give both teams credit there that was a good stalemate Eagles good job trying to shove him back good job kokia trying to shove him in that was a good
085stalemate there at the line of scrimmage so that takes the score on the Cory Pharmacy scoreboard 30 the Eagles 10 speaking of Cory Pharmacy thank you to Paul and Cory Pharmacy for donating all the waters all season for pregame meals and thank you to Mark Furlow for supplying all the liquid IVs to the boys before every game don't forget our pregame sponsor was brought to you by Campbell security he donated binos tonight and to all of our pregame meal sponsors all year long we appreciate that like I said we'll try to get that going again next year it's a pretty good thing that we got going now so hopefully we need a meal for next week hopefully need a big play here tell you what take it back do an onside kick score again you're
086right there three-score game now ball down the middle of the field going to be oh my gosh fumbled by Logan picks it up 25 he goes to the right side 25 to the 35 40 out of bounds near the 45 yd line Logan Hicks put on the afterburners [Music] there gets up to the 45 yd line I think now you're done worrying about trying to control the clock if you're the Eagles you're going to your normal spread offense yeah now you you can't worry about the clock now you got to score quick fast as possible this is where it's good to have a two-year starting quarterback a senior starting quarterback take control of the the Huddle take control of the line of scrimmage and try to rally the troops here with them Mountain ahead of
087you double tight moved inside vle standing in an empty back field by himself at the 40 yd line motion man Jace fake it to him up the middle as Mason himself spins out of one tackle gets enough for a first down gain of 11 first and 10 for the Eagles from the kamanche 44 yd line doing a great job like I said earlier getting up field like I don't think I've seen it this well all season to be honest following his blockers up the middle and the line's done a great job considering their size absolutely you've got to go we are still in a huddle we just now broke the Huddle first and 10 from the 44 now under 11 minutes to go Motion man Jace fake it to him up the middle goes Hicks
088running behind it pads gain of five second and five they're going to move it back to the 40 so it's going to be a second and six trying to get these play calls in quick takes a little bit more time when you're in that huddle compared to when we're in the spread and you're already get up to the line of SC lined up trips to the right side ball shaded to the right side of the field running back right fake it to him boot quarterback throws it to Thompson got a wall of blockers ahead of him comes across the field stiff arm fighting for a first down he gets it first and 10 good run Keegan Thompson gain of seven gets it to the 33 by number Z an moris mean stiff arm by Thompson
089took him to the ground runs with a lot of power number does just over 10 minutes to go Eagles getting to the huddle once again ball at the 33 need to get in the end zone so you're down 20 right now you score eight you got to score three times no matter what trips to the right side tighten left motion man Nelson to the right gets over behind his blockers good job there by Logan getting downfield kase musku was there gain a second seven second and three PS is real EST estate on the play Ren Zappa second down and six for the Eagles Jared mentioned earlier that the fans were on the track and they kept itching forward yeah they're on the tur on the tur now they're going to be on the field at
090some point empty B Back Field doubles tight to the right side motion man Nelson from left to right quarterback keeps it with the play action runs to the outside has enough for a first down keeps his feet moving spun in three circles gets to the 20 yd line first and 10 for the Eagles the the ball carrier picks up another Eagles 47 now and if you want any chance you have to score here if you want to win this game I know it's a hard ask but I've seen crazier things happen first and 10 from the 20 I'm taking a shot to the end zone right now I think I am too coach stump just stood up so it might be coming see him standing for the excitement motion man Nelson to the left side
091quarterback's dropping back is vaguely he's going to have to scramble now got a guy coming from the backside loss of five Mason was looking to the end zone he had Hicks back there I don't know if he was open loss of five yeah Mason just had no time there after the roll out not any time to get out of the pocket going be second and long now 743 left in the ball game second and 15 I think I go for an end zone shot again maybe not you need a third and manageable I guess single receiver split out wide is Keegan Thompson to the left side bagley's going to send Nelson in motion it's going to be the counter play good job staying home for Cahokia gain of four third and 11 we have a
092big third down for the Eagles brings up a third down 12 for the Eagles definitely four down territory if you're the Eagles seven minutes to go in fourth quarter action B on the right hash Eagles break the Huddle trips to the left side empty backfield Hudson's your tight end to the right cam now is going to come over going to be doubles to the left Cam's your single receiver I like Logan on a corner R here fake it double move middle of the field Hudson Bryant wide open into the end zone good for 22 yards we have talked all year long about TI end and sneak them out and we save it for week 10 penalty on the play roughing the passer doesn't matter touchdown Eagles a beautiful ball out of Mason once again caught
093by Hudson in the middle of the field makes the score 30- 16 you're still in the ball game here especially if you make this makes it a 13-point game he going to have to get a key stop I don't know if you think about onside kick I mean I know you got it the first possession of the game but I send it deep I think I do they keep scooting up all the time now they probably got some pretty good athletes back there try to kick it whether or not prob they do have some athletes back there all starts here though Cunningham to do the kicking snap Place kick missed it push it left oh sneaks it inside that left upright and it's good I thought that went left not even close that was right
094inside that ight I don't know about that so that takes the score toia 30 Columbia 17 629 to go on the clock cheerleaders overdoing their push-ups I think that's 34 now on the night for the cheerleaders so now I'm going to see I mean you got Omar Mims Jr back deep and ail and DOW we said his name a couple times number two with the okay okay now you can really think about it with the roughing the passer it's a 15 yard penalty kean's going to set the kicking te down at the 45 I tried to kick it at like the off to the side a little bit maybe it bounce around for a little while yeah I don't mind that either see what coaching staff wanted to do here are going to onside onside
095kicks it again bouncing around and they got it Kia got it covered by the commes first guy 14 went right between his legs did touch him Ball's bouncing around right by the numbers on the 35 over there it's a chance you got to take I love it better field position than what we've had on the kickoff and that's what I was saying you know you're kicking from the 45 yd line now who cares we got to give props to Keegan too on these two two great onsite kicks I mean he's made two of them Miss basically so now now you're hoping for a turnover or scoop and score or pick six something to make this a one- score game quarterback hands the ball off up the middle good job there Owen Mankey making first Contact
096then it looks like Corbin got in along with Keegan Thompson gain of five Donald pick up five on the play brings up a second down and five for the kames clock not on our friend or not on our side man it's not our friend either trips to the right side three down lineman three linebackers for the Eagles quarterback takes a snap turns around play action going to be caught by number four on the outside good job jaay keeping contained keeping it to the outside forcing it out of bounds they're going to say that he stayed in going to be short third and two call a timeout if you get a stop here I mean I think you do anything you can anything that you might have put in in week four that you didn't think
097would ever work I think you just throw everything on the line here I mean you got 530 left in this ball game everything in your playbook I would throw it at him five down linemen two line L backers three linebackers no safety in the game if I'm kahok I might even take a deep ball chance here with no safety quarterback moves running back to the left side they're going to put mims in motion he goes to the right side good job making a hole for kokia penalty flag on the play and we got the mustard on the lettuce mustard on the lettuce man I wish I could think of that faster holding on the commes bring it back under 5 minutes now Columbia needs a big stop here just for a chance we have a
098holding against the commes that'll be coming back to 10 yard penalty so now it's going to be third and 12 now for sure if you get a stop I'm calling timeout bad thing is you only have two didn't get to see where the hold happened they're going to take the snap at 4:30 if they want to run it all the way down to end of the play clock quarterback under Center doubles tight going to be reverse coming at us this way good job by the Eagles now we got to make an open Play field and we do good job Keegan going to be stopped back to the original line of scrimmage Timeout on the field Eagles 423 huge play there out of the Eagles good job not falling asleep for Keegan thought the ball was
099going One Way full Sprint to this sideline makes a great play on the ball it would have been nice tackle him out of bounds save your timeout for the offense but still great job All Around by the defense there to try to get your offense back on the field thanks for sticking with us here tonight after technical difficulties we got it up and running and it's been an exciting one this is kind of the outcome that I thought I thought we had three outcomes that could have happened and this is the one that I was really banking on happening 60 to nothing now alof leads Dupo and they cannot be a 1A school anymore number 18 is your punter Pierre Taylor three punts for 109 yards averaging 63 yards per punt he's punting from his
10020 hit that should you know that song Come On Alex haven't known a song yet oh Eagles Try to block it not able to get back there bounces at the 45 gives a commane block or bounce and it's going to be down at the 31 well give yourselves a chance here only down 13 going to need couple big plays going to have to score early yeah I know a song finally coming from when TJ was probably in diapers 1970s oh my this song yeah I don't know no this isn't the 70s no this was like I was in my 20s but I was probably still in diapers you're in your 50s now in your sing diapers I need him again what year is this song Oh 85 Thunderstruck 1985 no 94 yeah I think it
101was lat 90s never heard a ' 90s song that I liked those are considered oldies now oh okay 1990 Eagles offense out on the field Trail it 30- 17 412 to go in the first round of the ihsa class 4A playoffs trips to the right side running back right vaguely play action throws it looking for the Deep move throws it to the middle of the field and it's going to be incomplete Mason got rocked again pass nearly right as he let go of the ball a little hurricane action there second down and 10 for the Kam I mean for the Eagles Falls incomplete stops the clock 404 second and 10 from the 31 Eagles got 69 yards to get in the end zone you're down 13 so you don't need to worry about going for
102two just got to get in the end zone tight end left doubles to the right motion man Hicks play action bootleg coming across the field oh gosh back to Logan who catches it at the 25 defended by the Kam defense loss of six on the play and that be a l of on another Miss block by The Eagles there brings up a third down that play worked earlier to Hicks but on that one nowhere to go had a guy in his face right when he caught the ball and tried to run up field third and about 16 from the 25 see what kind of trickery Eagles got here trips to the right side C janick is your running back next to vagley to his left ball on the left hash four down lineman vagley looking
103to the right turns throws it high incomplete intended for number 13 Keegan Thompson Pass is incomplete brings up a fourth down four 15 for the Eagles for the Eagles Here season on the line on this play I think look like Aaron P going to come in as an extra receiver little bit more speed than janic on the outside most likely going to be empty formation if I had to guess F let's some onth it is going to be empty trips to the right side doubles to the left and they're playing the stick safety right at the 41 one where we need to get toter press really nothing you can say on that play number 13 the baller man he's good he's a problem he's a problem miy had no chance off the edge that dude
104was moving turnover on Downs wow that kid was scooting around the corner rounda for playoff so turnover on Downs comman take over at the 26 yd line 305 remaining it's kind of early to call that didn't it moner just said they're moving on to the second round I think so too but only up 13 you never know scoop and score changes the game here come on bad snap turn around hand the ball off up the middle gain of two clock's not on our side here we see you baby great fight by The Eagles tonight though been in this game the whole time from the very start getting that onside kick going down getting a field goal early if you need to call your RS please call your RS just going to hand it up right
105up the middle again number eight it looks like going to be close to the first down maybe a yard short going to be third and one maybe two two minutes left talk clock still ticking here looks like kahok is just going to keep running the ball here and put this one away third two get a stop here you burning the timeout Jared got two one left clock I mean you got it might as well use it might as well looks like the kames will be advancing to the second round of the ihsa class 4 a playoffs going pressure up the middle it's going to be picked up as is the first down and that's going to do it Ki is going to be able to run the clock out what a game by The Eagles
106I think it was a good one you look at two dropped balls I think that's your difference right there those are two you know one in the end zone one would have got you down there I think we had another one that could have been disrupted good game by the Eagles all the way around though I think the fact that nobody gave them a chance and fought till the end was a good game yeah I think the defense did a great job tonight you gave up well you take away a kick a kickoff return and then him reversing all the way field or inside the 10 probably ran 53 yards just to get in the end zone yeah what I mean maybe more yeah heck I mean good luck guys what a great game I
107mean like you said TJ nobody gave Columbia a chance whatsoever and the Eagles made it you got to look down you got to talk about our seniors these seven guys good job some of you guys playing football from Blue Jays all the way up to today thank you to those seven seniors raising the bar not giving up Mason Hudson cam Aaron hover and Hicks good job you guys guys were a lot of fun to watch especially having an year like last year where you were two and seven and down and then you bounce back this season get to the playoffs and you have to play a Kia team who's pretty darn good uh I mean you got to be proud of this team and proud of the moment and proud of everything that they went
108through this year not even this year but their whole football careers yeah and we had a rough year I mean you talk like you said you you go back to week two nobody ever expects any of that to happen great job battling through that and then all throughout the season as well so good job to every budy on the field and then you take the other uh 35 guys who are dressing tonight you guys got to take this feeling you got to build on it next year give more motivation yeah you got 15 Juniors that'll turn out to be seniors next year so take this feeling Eagles fall to this one 30 to 17 of the commanches congrats to the commanches and good luck they will play the winner of waterl and Taylorville which will
109be played tomorrow and uh good season by The Eagles all the way around I think like you said going from 2 and seven to 6 and four you can't hold your head yeah I I agree um I think overall uh great season fun season um but like you said a lot of those younger guys I mean walking off the field you got to think you were in you were in the game you were in the game the whole time so you just got to know in the back of your mind that uh all it takes is one or two plays and it's a game of inches we say it all the time but um all it takes is one or two plays that can spread a game wide open and that's kind of what happened
110tonight with two drop passes on our side and then a kick return and their little razzled Dazzle inside the 10 I mean so that was pretty much that was pretty much it well thank you everybody for making this season happen like I said Columbia quarterback Club couldn't have done it without you we appreciate it Josh and TJ Josh running the computers when we lost service tonight I had no idea Josh turned around and said we need to figure it out that's why you're here thank you Josh for being with us TJ hope to have you back next year filming with us once again to all the volunteers who make home home games happen from the administration blue crew you guys did a great job all year on all sports but thanks for coming out the
