001n [Music] n [Music] welcome in ladies and gentlemen kchs Columbia Eagle football conference Championship on the line spoiling an undefeated season a great program in Breeze a great night for high school football Friday Night Lights nothing else you can ask for right now it's going to be a good night and last time we were here it was a great night for the Eagles 28-27 Victory three big plays they did it for us let's hope tonight the Eagles can do the same so vagle is going to be the quarterback in the backfield Cameron Janik is his running back Dalton rainwater is closest to us we're going from left to right right now janik's going to take the hand off nope it's going to be a keep by the quarterback he's going to go up the middle
002he's got the 40 yd line he's into the 30 to the 20 One play for the Columbia Eagles and they got themselves six points on the scoreboard going to fake the Jet Sweep going to be kept by vagley he's got 10 yards he makes a cut up field he's to the 40 to the 50 cougar territory 40 30 20 slowing down to the 10 five Endzone touchdown Columbia Eagles di vaguely for 83 yards into the end zone I don't even know what to say on that one going for two doubles to the right side sniffer back right running back boy Jared it was fun 28-27 first play of the game touchdown second play of the game touchdown go for two to try to win it stop them I can still picture Lan coming across the
003middle Eagles left two years ago Victorious let's hope for the same tonight yeah that was probably one of our favorite games that we've ever announced just looking back two years ago um and they were pretty much favored in that game I think um they were having a very good season um but anytime you're coming to Central it's always going to be a good game whether it's at Central or at home um and that's pretty much in any sport you look around at volleyball baseball um it's always it's always a clash between these two so tonight will be pretty fun it is fun we'll be talking a little bit more about the conference and how it's all played out in years past it's always been this rivalry coming down to this tonight's broadcast brought to you
004by the Columbia quarterback Club as always thank you to the quarterback club for making it happen and the quarterback club tonight provided the meal with everybody tonight so uh we cook some pork steak sandwiches some mac and cheese started around noon today had the food down to the boys at uh about 4:00 they got on the bus and left so quarterback Club did that Matt vagley and cold Dreer huge thank you to helping making that happened and it was a good time today and had some good eats did you get I had a w you had a Wally Burger yeah I should have even asked I knew that pickles man you know me double cheese with Pickles all right go do you have a ski oh yeah Cher Cherry ski oh Cherry ski cherryi mix
005it up a little got to go to Dairy King and get the real real fruit skis or whatever Kendall gets it every time gets the real strawberries put in there jar let's talk a little bit last week Eagles Victorious puts them at five wins makes them an at large bid for the playoffs and that put the win 38 to8 over the Salem Wildcats yeah it was a little slow start had a couple fumbles I think Jay fumbled in that on that first drive uh so we were kind of worried about that but our defense did its job pretty much all night got our guys out in open space ran a lot of bubble routes and um on the ground I mean you couldn't stop us I think we had two guys over 200 or 120
006yards so um anytime you're got two running backs doing that I mean you're probably looking pretty good unfortunately Salem did not post any of their stats but um don't know what went on with them so Colombia though like you said Jared Jason nellson laid the way 20 rushes 173 yards eight yards a carry Logan Hicks for nine 130 14 yards per carry and then Mason comes in as well six for 44 seven yards per carry passing the ball or Mason had another good night 10 for 13 109 yards passing so uh you like the way the Eagles offense is rolling right now coming in three- game winning streak so let's hopefully tonight offense keeps things moving yeah and our defense is definitely going to have to be ready tonight uh they're scoring around 42 points
007a game Brie Central is so um anytime that you see anybody scoring even over 30 nowadays uh you know your defense has to be ready so um defense been playing good the last couple weeks I think we got three wins in a row now so hoping to get four tonight defensively for the Eagles last week I think the tone was set first play of the game Hudson Bryant on what was supposed to be a Jet Sweep loss of three he was there right away Keegan there on that top picture you can see uh I think that really sealed the edge all night and it like I said it set the tone yeah and I think putting Hudson Bryant up on that edge on the D line has made a huge difference for the defense um
008he's getting in the back field almost every single play sniffing out all the counters getting to the quarterback so uh it's nice to have a little bit of speed up front um I think Lincoln Corbin's out tonight with one of the big guys in the middle so somebody's going to have to step up but overall I think our linebackers have been playing a lot better than they were the first few weeks uh but Corners tonight are I'm not scared for it but they're going to have to just be ready for uh a lot of good wide receivers on the central side and you talk about the defensive backs for the Eagles there bottom left picture Mason vagley two interceptions last week and uh just I mean he was where he needed to be multiple times
009made the tackles made the plays Cooper white and Hudson Bryant led the wave with tackles Hudson actually had seven he had 10 total tackles led the way with seven tackles Hicks with 10 total tackles and Cooper with nine so um like you said those linebackers always doing what they're supposed to do and defensive backs were able to come through as well for us and um in a game that you needed to win I think we we went in we knew that we were probably favored in the game so it was a good way to get in 38 to8 Victory did what you had to do coming into tonight yeah that's a kind of not a setup game but it's a kind of a get ready game because you know you know you got Central in
010week eight every year so um and it's usually coming down to the wire who's going to get in the playoffs who's not but uh we're playing against number one state here number one team in the state here tonight so kids definitely better be ready number one team in the State brieze Central coming in I believe they have 121 total V votes nine of them were for first place so they're leading the way when it looks into that they are on their senior night tonight um honoring I didn't see how many there's a whole slew of senior football players out there at the 50 yard line right now and uh we'll get to do that next week so hopefully tonight you all you always like to play spoilers so if you can spoil an undefeated season
011spoil the number one team in the state spoil a senior night even spoil first round playoff game at home I mean some some teams go eight and one and aren't aren't lucky enough to get a home home uh playoff game in the first round so um I mean anytime anytime that you're here at Central I mean it's going to be a fun one they do it right here it's a lot of fun new video board off to the right um you look at all the stuff that they have going around everywhere on the field they do it right here and it's a good time to be here and uh it's going to be a good week for football we're going to run to a commercial break when we come back we'll talk about the playoffs
012we'll talk about tonight's opponent we'll get ready for this week eight matchup right here on kchs [Music] n [Music] n [Music] you [Music] welcome back to kchs kokia Conference standings Bree Central leading the way 4-0 Roxana 3 and one Columbia 3- one Roxana is above us because they beat us head-to-head freeberg 1 and three Salem 1 and three and Wood River 0 and4 that sets up a conference Championship here tonight Jared yeah and I believe roxan is at East Alman River this week uh should not an easy win but they should be projected in that one so this could come down to a three-way tie if the Eagles can win tonight um so that's what we're hoping for be K conference uh co-champions I guess it'd be a try Tri Champion it' be a try
013Championship so it also tonight would talk about being the conference representative whenever it comes to the state tournament and playoffs what it means to be a conference representative I'm not really sure as long as you get six wins I really don't care if I'm there for the conference or not but six wins is the magic number you got to get two um let me see Howie talked about it somewhere on this sheet about it being um how they figure it all up to be basically what it is um so the ties are broken down when it's a tri Conference Championship it goes the next tiebreaker is broken by the fewest points allowed in a game involving the three teams looking at that breeze allowed six points to roxan so you'll add whatever our score is
014tonight Columbia we gave up up 14 points to roxan obviously we would add centrals and roxanna's giving up 42 so as long as we don't give up a bunch of points and a quick math as long as we don't give up 28 we'll be in a good spot and uh like I said I don't care if we're the conference rep or not I just want to have a conference Championship hopefully yeah I agree and like you said 28 points I mean and then you look at all the points that Central has been scoring this year uh I think it was around 40 points like I said earlier and we're only at I think 27 or 28 points a Gam so I mean we're coming in here as underdogs 14-point underdogs plus you're on the road
015so you never really know what what to expect though so I just hope these guys are are ready for tonight you looky there playoff pairing day Saturday October 26th more details will come out on the 21st um the way that breaks down six wins get you in or I'm sorry five wins will get you eligible yep you need some help whenever you get it with playoff points so uh playoff points are your opponent's victories so um every team that we've played we get their points tiebreakers then turn into the points um of the teams that you've beat so that all breaks down farther than we need to explain I was going to try to explain it there's three pages here of how they determine who plays where when how I mean it is unreal there's
016eight tie Breakers in this one criteria there's another five there I mean it breaks it down pretty intense so we know that we will be for a going through it over there all the creepers we uh we know yeah I got a I got a whole stack over here we know know that we're going to be 4 a we can say that for sure first pairing that we saw we won't be traveling far we just have to go to kia okay you do it all right I'd go there yeah no problem I'll go there coia came here last year and Central beat him 13-2 so uh that game let's talk a little bit more about conference real quick we've talked about uh how it's been Colombian Breeze a lot of times and I read an
017article this week about Coach short who we'll talk about is Breeze's head coach um it's been dominated Columban Bree in the 21 or the 20 plus years that coach Horner has been here I looked up um the stats there Columbia has had nine conference championships that I believe might have all gone undefeated I don't know if we have a five- one really in there um I think we've pretty much gone nine and0 on all of them a two-way two two-way ties and one three-way tie Bree Central has four with three two-way ties and one three-way tie that was a little complicated to say freeberg has had had two championships three two-ways and one oneway Roxana has one which was last year wesland had one which they're not even in our division no more as well
018and red bud had a two-way tie so uh um it's been a good time it's been a good good little run Eagles are trying to keep it going and I don't know if you remember but uh 2012 to 2016 31 wins in a row in the conference yeah I was uh I think I was part of the game that we lost I wasn't going to bring it up but home against Westland I believe it was week it was the second week of the playoffs yeah I think we had three of our starters go to Colton bird blew out his knee that game I think one of the Napier boys got hurt that game as well so um we were kind of banged up my senior year but we won't talk about that yeah I mean
019Eagles have done good in the conference and they're hoping to uh keep it up here been doing good talk a lot about Breeze Central I hate playing them because they're a good team and I hate coaching against them they because they do it um they do it right they're good and it's always going to be a dog fight but uh you come and you talk about uh coach short and um they do it the way they're supposed to let's talk about our top scores though on offense real quick before we jump into more of breed Central stuff leading the way Logan Hicks after him you have Jay Nelson Keegan Thompson and Mason vagley they're the top four scorers for us defensive side of the ball you go to the top tacklers that we have this
020year and with that I believe it's going to be soon as Josh finds the right slide that he wants to put up there there we go now we got Hudson Bryant leaving the way with Mason Coupe and Keegan Thompson so Keegan little side note we have little in uh sickness this week so it's good to see him back and uh hopefully he plays well enough and he feels well enough for a big game here tonight yeah definitely going to have to be ready like I said earlier uh I'm glad I'm just glad everybody's somewhat healthy our offense is pretty healthy all around skill guys look good the last couple weeks I hope coach orner throws a couple bubble routes and just let let those guys go and and run right under 13 minutes to go
021until the kickoff here let's talk a little bit about the Cougars of Bree Central like we mentioned number one team in the state of Illinois at 4A they moved up last week with their win over roxan this is the first time in school history they've ever gone 7 and0 and they have at least a share of the conference uh Championship so if they win tonight they'll be outright and uh if we win we'll force a three-way tie talk a little bit about Coach short though it's a 17th year no other coach at Breeze Central has had over 40 wins coach short 17 years 103 wins 64 losses for 61% uh win percentage and he's gone to the playoffs 11 times so that'll be 12 this year he's already had 110 wins now if you include
022this year so uh pretty neat and I know coaches staff likes him they talk a lot about him much respect yeah ton of respect and you know you look at a lot of things Central does it's what Columbia did in the past as well oh yeah I mean those coach short and Coach Herer and Coach Germain those two or those three probably talk every every Friday night after games uh even on Saturdays calling each other seeing uh uh what the other team runs who may who they may play later in the season um so it's it's nice to see these coaches have kind of a camaraderie with each other even though um well last couple years we've been top two teams in the in the conference so um it's it's fun can you talk about
023the winning ways that breeze has been up to lately um coach short he knows how to win too you go back to whenever he was in high school days is a Junior and senior read an article this week Junior and senior he was 19 and three 17 shutouts in those 19 victories uh as a junior they went 10 and0 to start had nine shutouts they gave up one touchdown in one game go to the second round of the playoffs it was against Greenfield lost the game upset and gave up 20 points they had never done that all year then a senior year they go nine- one lost to Green Field again and uh of the nine wins eight shutouts again so coach short he knows how to win yeah and he knows I think he's
024their defensive coordinator as well so um you know him and Coach Horner are always on opposite sides of each other so that's always it's always fun they're always coming up with new ideas new new things especially in week eight um this is kind of where you pull some tricks out of out of your pocket cuz it's week eight everybody's kind of seen everything so you throw in some stuff this week um that we might that we might see tonight offensively the Cougars they know how to move the football last week 303 yards passing that's the uh the most that they had all year and then go down to rushing 212 against Wood River so they're going to put put some guys out on the field that are going to make some plays last week they
025had the most yards of the SE of the Season 460 and then they had 440 in the milk bowl verse Moder day back in week two uh putting up 42 points a game giving up only nine so uh Eagles got their hands full and like we said they're an underdog coming into it yeah and I if I am not I don't know if I'm wrong on this but I think all those seniors that we just saw out here obviously two years ago they were sophomores and I think a lot of those starters were sophomores as well so probably left them with a bitter taste in their mouth when Columbia won this game two years ago um on their home field but overall I just I just hope we have a good game tonight under 10
026minutes to go now getting ready for a kickoff uh talk a little bit more about this offense averaging 164 yards a game rushing 24 yards per game passing 378 yards average per game some guys that we need to watch Jared you texted me who they were who do you have I think it was Kaden rockers as the running back uh he was their starting running back as a sophomore so he's got a lot of snaps snaps back there I'm not sure what his yardage looks like this year looks like 49 carries for 358 yards and 10 touchdowns I think he also catches a little bit out of the back field sometimes six catches 94 yards two touchdowns so um linebackers and Corners I think are going to have their toughest game of the night or
027of the year look at their offensive production on the quarterback side got to give the quarterback some love Preston Baker senior 62 for 90 uh 68% completion 1100 yard 18 touchdowns you need to take care of the football zero interceptions that's huge in a game like tonight that's going to be the difference I think yeah and even in a game like last week where we had those two fumbles uh if you're playing a team like Central they might go down and score um off those off those turnovers so that's definitely going to be a big thing for Coach Warner offense tonight take care of the ball they're playing a little highlight film out here you're locked I'm locked in this is they got pyrot Technics they got smoke they got everything going on and we
028got something cool going on too we got hoe on our side of things you heard it from Howie here Howie comes in tonight giving us some information and Howe 620 students for um the cougar so pretty evenly matched whenever it comes to that Columbia has 618 coach Warner 15-9 verse the Cougars and uh how he's always getting stuff to us he's getting it to us in a timely manner we're able to pull it up right away there it comes back again Eagles are playoff eligible tonight's game like we said conference representative series started back in 1975 not sure why they didn't play in 76 I just heard it from hoe Eagles currently have a seven game win streak against the uh the Cougars here and you're going to look at that and say schlim that's
029only six years 2018 I believe it was maybe no 15 maybe I can't remember the year we won 27 28 27 then we played him in the postseason won 2120 I think that might have been one of our first Year's calling so it might have been 17 or 18 I can't remember anymore I can't either too many games seven games on the win streak back in that time frame so uh thanks Howie for getting it all that information Eagles have two shouts this year as does Breeze Central Jared Eagle football time six minutes away Eagle football time coming up Eagles making their way out on the field now as you see them come running out Eagles coming out all white with the pink socks breast cancer awareness we're need to figure out the 47 yd
030line here is painted pink so we're going to have to find out both of them are why it's painted pink it's only on this side I don't think any other they got some breast cancer ribbons down in the end zone as well we are getting get ready now for the national anthem like I said Eagles coming out all white white pants white top white hat the Cougars we're going to call it an anthros site smoky gray pant okay purple tops and their helmets I believe are purple or black I don't know I can't really tell coaches have a little light purple on pretty sharp look we're going to get ready for the national anthem 5:30 until kickoff we'll bring you the national Anthem and kickoff right after this you are listening to Columbia Eagle football
031live right here on kchs this broadcast is proudly brought to you by the Columbia quarterback club for 14 years the Columbia QB Club has donated over $100,000 to CHS and other youth Leagues with one event in the summer and one in the winter there are plenty of ways to donate to the club check out their Facebook page or visit their website at www.columbia QB club.com to find out more inform [Music] e [Music] la [Music] Friday Night Lights in Breeze Central Conference Championship on the line it's going to be a good one just got a text watching from Buffalo New York coach Kendall's father watching I didn't see anything about a coin toss did you I didn't even wasn't even paying attention we never get it Central coming out strong lineup over here they got numerous
032people on their sideline they got little guys running around looks like the JV team might even be out there coaching staff is a mile long as well yeah if you look at their side on the on the roster sheet there's about 400 people goodness gracious look at all the assistant coaches on there I mean there's let's see one two three four five six seven eight nine 10 11 plus three student assistants wow how many we got one two three four six we got six seven coaches I guess got throw coach Horner in there going over the starting lineups here tonight Eagles are pretty much going to be all the same ones like M or uh I just said Mason I heard his name like Jared said earlier Corbin's out I don't know who the new
033lineman would be for Corbin boy it's hard to talk and and be able to hear what's going on we're going to I'm going to be stumbling and mumbling through a bunch of stuff be all right thanks once again to the Columbia quarterback club for making this happen and bringing the food to the boys tonight hopefully those pork steaks and mac and cheese is what they needed they had a cookie that was supposed to go with it I forgot it in my truck so they got cookies for post game Alex yeah a little forgetful sometimes hey no Mountain Dew guy huh no Mountain Dew guy so for the new listeners here Jared and I have been in this same Press Box same seat couple years ago it was probably six or eight years ago I guess
034now we're sitting here a penalty was called and our Mountain Dew friend was sitting in front of us he turned around I had the window open he turned around started yelling at us and kind of ignored him a little bit and then there was an injury and he turned around and he started yelling at us again so we just kindly shut the window I don't think it was kyin you kind of slammed it a little bit it was kindly we just kindly shut the window we come back two years later same dude sitting in the same spot again so we didn't open the window that night and we're uh we got it closed right now we'll see what happens if we open it or not here within the next 40 seconds whenever kickoff begins Jared
035your three keys tonight what do you got um I think you just got to come man you got to you got to play your tail off I know some of these seniors have been playing since they were in kindergarten first grade so um to have your and this could be one of your the biggest games of your career I mean uh taking on a seven and0 number one te team in the state um if you can pull off an upset here that would probably be uh you'll be talking about that to your friends 30 40 years from now U my number two is probably um defense has to be ready I think our corners and safeties is one of the biggest wha ifs tonight um cuz they throw the ball a lot I think they
036average over 220 yards through the air like you said earlier so um going to be have to be ready for double moves and whatnot um and just getting getting to the football and rallying and my number three would be straight to coach Horner run those bubbles and arrow routes get the ball out to your receivers and let them go I'm going to agree with you on all those I'm going to say though like you said got start early get things going I'm going to say you got to control the line of scrimmage more than ever tonight um um control the clock too that's the same thing and take care of the football yeah yeah I think the team with the least amount of turnovers is going to be in a good spot and controlling the
037clock is something that we've done pretty well this year it's been pretty much split 5050 um but whenever we do have the ball we're able to make some progress out of it so got to do that and you get to start when I talk about having the clock on your side we get to start on offense right away so that's huge that we uh get to start there and another thing the kicker for Breeze Central doesn't have the strongest leg I think he only uh kicks it 35 yards something like that it's on here somewhere it's like 14er yeah number 14 number 14 Noah Coke's going to be doing the kicking only averages 35 yards so the big thing is our front our back guys get to stand at the 15 so you hope that
038he's able to uh get good field position for the Eagles it's Eagle football time now Alex it's Eagle football time as kooch sends it deep going to be returnable caught at the 10 yard line looks like it's going to be Jace running to the left runs over one of the tacklers and he's going to be brought down where the Eagles offense is going to start Mason vagley is coming out Jay n Nelson going to be doing your running back as well looks like on the o line might be trying to see he's in for Corbin looks like 71 no that's minky who's the other line wio over here on the right side as a tackle I have to look on the left side maybe there's somebody over there empty backfield for the Eagles doubles to
039the left side tight end right sniffer back right motion man Hicks fake the hand off Mason keeps it he goes up the middle this is a replay of what his brother did almost Eagles get up to the 30 yd line where he's going to be brought down gain of about six maybe seven brings up a second and three good play to start the game coach Warner go with 12 once again like two years ago like you said earlier first play of the game he goes 80 something yards to the house and he had this place kind of stunned because they were a little fired up that night and shut him up real quick ball on the right hash 31 yd line Second down and two same formation bagle sends motion man Nelson hands the ball
040off to him he puts his foot in the ground Cuts up gets keeps his feet moving gets through the yard to gain gain of four first and 10 ball at the 36 coach horer I think's going to run a lot of motion tonight have a lot of uh different guys on that looks like they're only having three linebackers so they're in a little fourth three action somebody's going to have to come out and guard or run across whenever a motion happens Eagles come into the game rushing 1575 yards averaging 225 a game 107 in the air 332 overall quart qub back keeps it again good tackle there by number 75 got off his block Mason might have got a yard if that second and nine look how beautiful that moon is in the background too
041I don't know if you saw that yet that is beautiful that thing is a full moon we'll see if we can get TJ to zoom in on that so no gain there going to be second and 10 once again Anthony hugan the senior number 75 18 total tackles six of them were for a loss doubles to the left side sniffer back right tight end right pass play vaguely double move looking looking deep to the left side he's going to overthrow Thompson it's going to be intercepted at the 28 yd line not what you want if you're the Eagles Keegan kind of just stopped running there I didn't think not a bad ball yeah I don't know if he didn't know that uh vagle was going to throw that deep ball you had Hicks running the
042Arrow Route and Keegan just ran a like you said double move Mason kind of just overthrows him but Keegan did slow down a little bit Central's going to take over might have tried to force it a little bit but it's just like a long punt now first and 10 for the Cougars low snap picked up right up the middle good job there by the Eagles rockers on the carry about four Eagles and make a tackle gain of three how long you think that rocker's name is has been around Breeze forever I think 19 is the receiver we're going to have to watch out for as well Griffin Becker nine total touchdowns pass play to right side Eagles are going to have to make a tackle it's going to be I believe that's Mankey good stop
043there for the eagles only a gain of two I wonder where coach short got that play nice little tunnel screen there eagles did a great job flocking to the football and that's that's what coacher main once third and five third and six once you get in those third and ones third and twos third and threes you're setting yourself up Central up to line of scrimmage trips to the left side quarterback boots to the left he's going to roll out looking deep slings it and it's going to go incomplete intended for number nine is Benny Layman that's another name that you hear a bunch fourth and five good job for the Eagles defense great job getting to the quarter back a little bit making him kind of get out of the pocket I don't know if
044it was was a roll out I didn't even see but anytime you can get a punt on the first defensive drive that's a great thing fourth down and five from their own 37 watch the football hard count nothing works Nelson is the Deep man standing at his own 32 punter sends it deep good Punt and it's going to fall at the Third 32 keeps bouncing good bounce there for Breeze all the way to the 19 where the Eagles offense is going to come back out on the field 850 to go here in the first quarter good first play out of the Eagles offense come have to take a look at Central's defense here to see if when we have doubles if that if there's a linebacker safety that comes up over that slot receiver CU
045I remember I think it was two weeks ago there was no one lining up up over the slot and all you had to do was throw a couple bubble routes and let your athletes out in space empty backfield once again doubles the left side tight end right CM your sniffer back right motion man Hicks this time we hand it off could have kept it going out but he tries cutting it up gain of two I think if he tries running that to the stretching it out wide he might get a little bit extra nonetheless gain of two second eight we'll see when coach Horner wants to pull that counter out of his uh bag I think Hicks has probably half his yards off that counter play this season first time the Eagles will have a
046running back in the back field it'll be a pistol back out of Nelson sniffer back is Janik over the guard turn around hand the ball off up the middle nothing going there's just a slew of bodies there jaay keeps his feet moving gets forward progress going to be close to a third down and four now from the 25 and I think central knows that we run the ball a little bit more than we throw the ball only having one high safety in number 19 pretty big kid back there probably 6'2 63 so they're going to have at least seven in the Box I would say single high safety number 19 64 180 Griffin Becker we'll say his name a lot tonight doubles right side ball on the right hash motion man Hicks vaguely keeps it
047up the middle tucks it down he's going to have enough for a first first down lowers his shoulder good play good pole first and 10 for the Eagles from the 31 yd line that's a big boy too in the middle it looks like 90 number 90 comes in 6 foot 220 number 99 nope number 69 comes in 510 230 and 75's big too 75 Anthony hugan 61 to10 anybody else you got there for me Jared nope I got them all number eight D end over there 6' 185 doubles to the right side I bet you we use the boundary here motion man Nelson coming right at us vaguely keeps it nothing going once again though maybe a gain of one forward progress though at least makes it a positive play will sander 69 makes the
048tackle you got the ball on this hash again we'll see if coach wants to use that boundary again on second down or if he wants to use that wide side of the field he's going to send his two receivers out there the left side doubles to the left side looks like Hicks is a little bit closer he's not so far stretched out there motion man Nelson hard count nothing going no Blitz shown under 10 seconds on the play clock Nelson moves to a pistol back janic moves in 3 seconds on the play clock we get it off it's going to be a run right up the middle Jace fing the pulling player he's got enough for 10 maybe 15 first and 10 ball at the 46 as long as you can manage the clock just
049a little bit in this first quarter kind of keep the ball out of Central's hands that high powering offense doing a great job moving the ball on this drive high power offense High Power Defense only giving up nine points per game I think it's only like three in conference play oh yeah I didn't ask you in pregame you like my uh Olaf socks oh gosh doubles to the right side tight end right vley keeps it he's going to run it himself good blocking out here but good job by the Cougars run into the football gain of two I think he could have cut that up a little bit earlier I think he wanted to get to the sideline like Keegan Thompson made a great stalk block and Mason just wasn't really able to read it
050still a gain of about two and a half three I'm going to assume it's John do that came in for for Corbin I haven't seen the Eagles rotating anybody out on the offensive side of the football I just now see number 57 though out there for the Eagles I want to see Hudson Bryan get involved a little bit in that tight end position we haven't seen much from that all season always a sleeper down there always on the ball Hicks motion man to the left he's going to keep it himself gets up field muskot wasn't there to pull fast enough gain of two ball to the 50 yd line now third down and six decision time here for Coach Herer what he wants to do get the six yards he got the ball in the
051middle of the field so he can use the either side see where he wants to put his receivers normally he likes running to that side CU you got a couple extra blockers I bet you this is a game where coach Warner wishes he still had hand signals still trying to yell everything out cow bells are going crazy over here doubles the right side single receiver out left empty backfield is vaguely by himself Bagley looks to the left throws it to the left incomplete fourth down and six I think you're punting it here if you're coach Horner he had an arrow out here out of hicks I believe it was Keegan ran a slant out of the right side I think I run that play again a little bit later on don't forget about it yeah
052I think I mean on third six third and seven there I think you just run your bread and butter you don't have to Chuck it down field keep running your motion man keep you can still run the ball Ethan hobill comes on late for the Eagles 412 remaining in the first quarter Eagles punting from their own 50 get it off pretty good punt spiring punt it's going to be caught by number two at about the 18 yd line gets all the way up to the 31 penalty flag thrown on the play hopefully it's in this side of holding like number 90 yep with a hold almost a block in the back back but rule it a hold so instead of having the ball at the 31 it's going to be at the 21g 401 remaining
053here in the first quarter tied z00 number one team in the State Central cougars coming in at 7 and0 Eagles trying to spoil the undefeated season spoil senior night try to get a shot at that conference title doubles all the way around running back pistol back number 29 in motion runs to the right side it's going to be a boot number 15's rolling to that side Hudson's going to have to force him to throw the ball and it's picked off by Logan Hicks he's got the left sideline he's going to get tackled turnover there for the eagles they get down to the 10 they're going to have first and goal threw it right to him Logan was right where he needed to be I think they tried just sneaking the running back out of the
054back field and Hicks just jumped right in front of it like you said quarterback kind of just threw it right to him easy catch for Hicks puts Columbia inside the 20 first interception for the Cougars quarterback this year now we got to make it hurt like we said Preston Baker 18 touchdowns zero picks now he's at 18 touchdowns one pick Eagles are going to have doubles to the right side Cooper W is your receiver way out here empty backfield vaguely by himself motion man Hicks to the left vaguely keeps it boots to the right side he's looking to the end zone where he's got CP good throw out of bounds Nothing Hurt second and 10 from the 10 maybe 11 yeah must be the 11 we can still pick up a first down if we
055get it to the one 343 left in this first quarter good play by vagle there just launching it out of bounds Nothing Hurt get to see another day ball in the left hash doubles to the left side see if coach Horner likes using that boundary motion man Hicks going to be keep by the quarterback nothing going stuffed third down and 10 Coupe comes off kin Thompson comes back on for the third and 10 and I think here you don't you don't need to do anything pretty try to kick a field goal you're in field goal range for Keegan Thompson who has a great leg who's been good all season long so I think you I I I would keep it on the ground here if I'm coach orner I wouldn't want to risk anything single
056re oh single running back is Nelson behind vaguely turns around hands it off nothing wrong with that take the points here if you're coach hner I hope I 100% agree I think if you get to about a fourth and two fourth and one then you can think about it a little bit looks like Cunningham's going to come out and do the the kick in Cunningham is seven pats on the season I don't know if he has any uh Feld goal attempts de goal attempts though going to be a 25 yard 26 yard attempt all with that snap good snap good hold kick is blocked it's a live football we got to get the football Mason falls on it at the 34 and that's where the Cougars are going to [Music] start Becker gets the block
057cougars take over 34 yd line 216 I think either one of those two guys off the edge could have block that thing yeah they didn't there was nobody even stepped out to that outside guy I think you're told them you're taught to block down but anyways they're going to hand it off the Rockers up the middle going to carry about two three eagles with them gain of about five that plays exactly that's exactly what central wants they overloaded that right side nobody really was over there coun for the guy who made the block double stack to the left motion man 29 runs all the way across the field quarterback looks back to the left runs a little hitch route going to be caught good move out of number 19 Ducks underneath the tackle out of
058Nelson huge gain first and 10 cougars have the ball in Eagle territory Jay's still playing about seven eight yard yards off the ball Griffin Becker averages 19 yards a reception that stat just went up quarterback draw up the middle good job Mankey forcing nothing to happen now you got to keep the play moving he runs back lost of two that play started with miy in the back field down the snap yeah he blew that up I think quarterback wanted to give it but he kept it and Owen miy caused that play there had a couple other eagles Hicks it looked like in on the tackle loss of about one second and 11 hard count gets the Eagles a jump offside second and six that's a discipline moment right there that's that's something that can come
059back to bite you anytime you can get him behind the sticks keep them there quarterback looking at the right side Eagles bring pressure there's a hold it's not going to get called thankfully it goes through the hands of the intended receiver number seven Jack sturis comes into the game two receptions for 31 yards and he's already had two attempts tonight and some some people at home if you're watching watch Hudson Bryant sometimes cuz he's getting held a lot because he's quicker than a lot of those linemen those linemen are getting away with some tugs empty backfield once again doubles running back to the left side quarterback's looking deep to the left he's got number two he's got number two for a touchdown down 37 yards 102 remaining 6 nothing cougars Aaron P was a Defender
060Kaden rocker for the touchdown get used to the name I think he just got beat there yeah everything's kind of going towards the Eagles now good snap good hole kick is up p is good we're going to run a commercial break Central leads at 7 nothing in week eight football [Music] welcome back to kchs Eagles Trail this one 7 nothing on a long touchdown reception for the cougars 102 remaining here in the first quarter this Central crowd is Rowdy they have fun when we're here yeah anytime you can beat columia should be pretty fun Central kicking off from the 40 our guys are standing at the 10 now sends it deep going to be fumbled Nelson picks it up now at about the two he's going to have to make something happen Ducks around keeps
061his feet moving he's still moving get going he's at the 30 lowers his shoulder up to the 32 he made up for it there on the fumbled reception good job getting to the 33 yd line where the Eagles offense will take over been able to move the football we just need to get some points now that's the running I want to see from Jace every play he that last dude he absolutely ran over need to get him out in open space and get him one-on-one against one of those Corners outside four down lineman for the Cougars only one we'll call it three linebackers but they're split out pretty wide motion counter up the middle cougar sniffed it out loss on the play the Eagles want to take it to the quarter they might be able
062to looks like we're it's going to have to run one more play I think big loss there now you're not a lot of play calls you have on second and long you just need to try to make it into a third manageable 15 seconds on the game clock Eagles going to have trips to the right side they are going to have to run one play running back right I would assume vaguely rolls to the right nope going to throw it Hicks with the reception he gets up field good play call there out of Coach Horner and the Eagles to bring up a manageable third and seven maybe a third and six whatever it's going to be it's going to come to in the second quarter we're going to run to a commercial break once again
063and when we come back we'll have second quarter action after this the Columbia quarterback Club is excited to host a reverse raffle going on now the raffle consists of 300 total tickets being sold for $10 per ticket contact any quarterback Club member to purchase your tickets today first ticket drawn gets $50 150th ticket gets $150 and the last ticket gets $300 tickets are drawn at the chicken and beer dance February 1st 2025 at the Columbia American Legion hey Eagle fans let's tackle hunger together the Eagles and Jerseyville Panthers are battling to see who can donate more weight of non Parable food items go to the high school and look for the blue barrels to drop the food in the drive is from October 21st to the 25th so act fast you can drop food items
064off at the volleyball game when the Eagles the th let's tackle hunger together before the holidays and repeat as tackle hunger champions welcome back to kchs Third and six motion man Nelson left to right he receives it himself and he's going to get to the original line of scrimmage Eagles are going to have to punt again I thought Mason had the ball to be honest with you I did too that's why I stuttered to get through that need to get a stop here you can't go down two scores yeah coming on late Cameron steel over to this side vagle to do the puning return man standing at the 30 vagle with his rugby style kicks it right at the guy at the 30 yd line Steel's over there forces it inside good job cam steel
065good job cam Janet getting down gain of five cougars start at the 35 yd line 1110 on the clock I think Steel's down there on every single punt he's quick Shifty too very athletic defense definitely needs a stop here quarterback likes to roll out so got to be ready for that Xavier vagley comes out he's a safety now next to Mason run the ball up the middle nothing going good job a out of the front seven gain a maybe one p gave up the touchdown and I think X came in for him moves to the safety and I think that takes the safety Nelson turns him into a corner quarterback botin coming this way Hudson Bryant in the back field misses the sack Eagles got to stay in defense defender back here Mason vagley intercepted
066good play give me that Mason vaguely got beat a little bit had to guy behind him made the play though coming back intercepts it Eagles ball at the 29 yd line all started though Hudson Bryant getting back there and forcing chaos hasn't thrown a pick all year throws two in the first half this is where we have to capitalize on the offensive side of the ball Eagle start ball in the left hash What A Catch left hash empty backfield doubles to the right side motion man Nelson he's going to keep it he's running wide I like this play he lowers his shoulder gets about three maybe four second and six it's the first time that we've tried stretching the ball out instead of cutting up field once Hicks and uh Nelson get to that sideline
067they can pretty much outrun anybody so we'll see if coach Warner wants to keep getting them on the outside or he likes it up the middle we know it all starts up front 10 minutes now left in this first half Eagles have to get some points here before halftime Central gets a ball coming out of half pistol back quarterback hands it off picks loss back to the original line of scrimmage third and 10 now that moves you back to Third and 10 most likely a a roll out or some type of throw here I like the roll out Mason's aggressive enough and Shifty enough that he can run and yeah he can get a 10 yard run pretty easy we need him to have a 71 yard run that'd be pretty easy and cool too
068play clock already under 10 see if we can get situated we're going to have to hurry under five now doubles the left side doubles all the way around janic back there with vagley it's going to be a pass to the right side caught by Hicks hit right away keeps his feet moving gains the three that he just lost fourth and seven defense giving you chances here early getting some key stops two picks a punt early one big play those are only points on the board just can't get anything going really I think in that play there Mason knew that was going to be open and I'm fine with that but you got to know you need 10 yards you don't need four Mason do the pting again this time gets it off pretty quick and
069easy it's going to go over the head of the Return Man bounces at the 25 we'll see if he decides to pick it up he does not great punt there out of Mason getting down to about the 13 I don't know where he started but that was an awesome punt flip the field real quick that's huge had the ball at the 33 we'll call it cougar start over on the 13 8:15 remaining here in the first half and now you just need another stop on on the defensive side two early picks a punt forc them to go all the way down field run the ball up the middle lowers his shoulder gets a couple yards nothing really major though second and seven gosh those interceptions man doubles to the right side single receiver it's going
070to be a tight end I guess to the left side run the ball up the middle nothing going once again good job out of the front seven Mankey comes off the pile I believe janic was there as well and Hudson Bryant I'm going to give him the credit for the tackle right there third and seven this is what you want if you're Coach G watch the football though you can hear Coach G yelling help we got two receivers out here and three Defenders gosh dang it you got to watch the football oh he didn't call it little quick reaction out of me sorry about that doubles running back left quarterback looking left takes it slings it first and 10 good catch good ball that was quick slant that was pretty nice play there 19 once
071again strong hands there Jace did everything he could was in the right position just great throw great catch first down cougars Eagles defense trying to get set cougars are ready to go run the ball up the middle once again nothing going Hudson Bryant once again in the back field gain of nothing second and 10 my keys are like opposite I was worried about our secondary secondaries look pretty good I'll knock on wood for you but up front tearing it up second and long single receivers out wide quarterback fakes it looking deep Nelson's on the defense it's going to force a throw now in Pursuit once again Logan Hicks throws the ball it might be a fumble what are they going to call they call it incomplete Logan Hicks gets back there along with Hudson Bryant
072third and 10 good good job there out of the Eagles secondary doing a great job because this quarterback can looks like Patrick Mahomes were back there with number 15 keeping plays alive and that's I mean that's tough whenever you're a corner safety and you're watching the quarterback and sometimes you forget where your receivers at when they extend it 8 to 10 seconds longer than it's actually going to be empty backfield manto man out here closest to us quarter back looking left he wanted to slance across the middle it's going to be the double move and it's going to be caught big return there from the 25 to the 47 good for 27 yards I think Hudson was on the fense right there another good ball and catch I mean Hudson was right where he needed
073to be quarterback put it where his guy could make the catch great play they're going quick they're getting on the ball already ready for this next play first and 10 from the 47 tries a hard count doesn't get it Hudson was on the defenses A Little Wheel route out of the back field quarterback turns around hands the ball off up the middle number four he bust it to the left side he's got enough for a first down forced out of bounds by X gain of 15 first and 10 from the 33 550 in the first half [Music] 19 comes out Eagles kind of on their heels here the last two plays doubles to the right side tight end right sniffer back right quarterback looking to the right looking deep got a receiver Jace is there
074though incomplete good defense there by Jason in the end zone second and 10 his quarterback's got a cannon on him I love how quick his release is I mean it's from tight spiral too puts it on the money just great job by Jace to be in a perfect spot had a little bit of a rush dude he didn't even hardly throw that and it goes 40 yards he just kind of flipped it up there you couldn't do that no just flipped it yeah you ran those tunnel screens all the time didn't you yeah we never really went too deep Timeout on the field we showed you the commercial about tackling hunger next week against Jerseyville I believe we did it once before last year I think is what it was it might have been this
075year I don't remember but uh we were able to win that one so bring up your canned goods your non- perishable food items I believe coach warer said there's going to be a a barrel by the entrance to the school in the back by the uh picnic tables that's the main entrance now with all the construction so take your non- perishables up there and make a donation you think he's blitzing at all over there or are we too worried about him rolling out all the time I don't know I haven't really seen much blitzing because this quarterback gets out of the pocket and sometimes like you said he has that quick quick release where catches it and he's throwing it in a second or two yeah you need all the guys you can have and
076Breeze they're throwing guys out of the back field or running guys out of the back field on Wheel routes and everything I mean if you want an offense this is the offense you want I mean Breeze can do anything they're going to throw it deep they're going to run it they're going to do whatever they can big second down here second 10 up the middle of number four good play coming out of timeout if you're a central couger fan X gets the tackle number four Cole Davis 3 rushes this year 224 six touchdowns 72 yards per carry he gets six there third and four 520 before halftime pistol back quarterback fakes it to him going to do a double move once again this time number 19 is going to be the intended receiver a third
077pick for the Eagles at the goal line Mason bagley's going to try to return it he's to the 10 152 25 is where he's going to get knocked out but he steps out at the 22 three picks tonight for the Eagles defense now you got to make something happen again five minutes too in the first half man it's going to be a good one folks if it's going to go like this offense got to get something going here got to get points on the board five minutes left take a f minute drive downfield try to tie this thing up going into half and this is probably a moment where coach Horner might pull one of them trick plays out of his sleeve doubles to the right side tight end left for back right pistol back
078Nelson up the middle go good for five yards before he has any contact made good hole there by the Eagles offensive line Second and five I don't know about you but last year last year's Jace I don't think he's getting that low lower in his shoulder he's probably juking a lot whenever Jace runs up the middle nowadays he's lowest guy wins he's given the boom second and five from the 26 Eagles looking over to coach Horner on the right side getting the play call tight end left doubles right sniffer back left pistol back behind vaguely going to keep it himself going up the middle puts his foot in the ground might get to the original line of or the line of scrimmage not the original they give him a half a yard third and five
079I'm rolling out here and I'm looking I'm going to roll to the right side tell Keegan run to the sticks I need a first down and then have jaser Bryant run like a drag or a drive route across the middle across the middle of the field and I'd have Hicks run a Crossing route this way to kind of mess with those linebackers in the middle Coach G says he hates Crossing routes my only thing here you got 340 yep he's probably going to burn one here so yep they can talk about it a little bit coach Warner Burns at 334 oh 333 333 all right it went down two extra seconds should have been 335 but Josh is over here looking to the left looking at the reflections to see the scoreboard Brennan Brennan's 5
080feet behind us keeping stats thanks Brennan that's huge I talked to TJ he didn't get a headset this week though we're all separated we've got everything Josh and TJ are talking via we got it flowing now I feel yeah we're good Josh and TJ have their own headsets now that they can communicate with one another they can't hear what we're talking about though you go into that huddle right there Jared what uh what do you think's going on in it I mean 333 obviously don't want to turn the ball over right here and give them the ball on our side of of the grass but I think like you said I think you roll out give your I mean give your quarterback a chance to run the ball if if nothing's there uh receiving wise
081but I think yeah you put Keegan or Jace on a little side sideline hits just try to get this first down and then you go in a little a three man three man or three minute push here right before half empty Back Field doubles to the right side tight end left sniffer back left Z's back in the back field by himself straight pass play Bad throw Falls incomplete had what she wanted but not the execution there stops the clock gives them an extra timeout third fourth down now and five worst case scenario right there I love the idea I think Jace was too far out yeah that's a long throw for a quick hitch cuz J Jace was just getting into his break as Mason was releasing the ball I mean it was a a
082shorter ball Jace would have never caught it but vaguely to do the punting holds on to it really long oh my God yeah should be around the 48 yd line what happened on that somebody just tripped yep and hit him right in the back of the head I think Mason does that rugby style punt he holds on to it really a long time I think then he was forced to punt in a hurry he had a guy rushing him can't tell who it was like P so cougars take over 3177 ball at their own 48 Coach G you need to stop at any point this is the biggest one toss to the left side with number two goes to the outside uses a sideline goes out of bounds that's that's something I want to see
083Alex I know I know we don't take a lot of under Center or I mean I think get get our running backs out out in space toss it to them and let him go I know it's it's tough to have your lineman block that type of scheme but it's pretty much just outside Zone penalty flag on the play looks like it's going to be on the Cougars holding far outside receiver there is going to be number 19 Griffin Becker I would assume it's on him don't know for sure but he was the guy in the area of the hold loss of 10 now puts the ball cougars at the 47 310 first down and 17 quarterback looking number 21 catches up the middle we've run this play a bunch in the past Hicks goes for
084the football gain of about eight caught Carter Dy number 21 18 receptions on the year for 456 five touchdowns second eight from the 45 the play that we used to run a ton now you never see this run Central still running it boy look how far our defensive backs are playing off the football they're eight yards deep doubles empty backfield quarterback wants that quick route and he gets it X on the tackle along with Keegan fumble on the play that's a fumble there's not and he was down on that far side I hate that defensive setup right there you are eight yards deep X is playing nine yds deep he's given a first down on the set yeah you could run three three yard hitch right there quarterback wanted it right away and they ran
085it deeper than he was wanting them to First and 10 though from the 36 boy I don't know if you watch that replay again here I don't know if that's a fumble and oh man that is close doubles empty backfield quarterback looks to the right side second move Mason fell Mason Falls over and it's caught at the 11 Mason Falls allows a big [Music] reception clock stops at 159 now it starts Mason falling over allows that completion first and 10 from the 13 yd line single receiver split out wide single running back he's going to take the ball up the middle good hole there good job there by the Eagles o making the play and clogging the hole right away now if you're Central you're in the driver's seat here don't give up anything big
086still got two timeouts approaching one minute left I'm going to assume they if we get a stop here on second down they'll burn one on third second and six cougars taking their time letting the clock run 60 seconds now on the game clock quarterback turns hands the ball off up the middle good job there Owen Mankey getting in the back field loss on the play and the Eagles needed that clock still ticking Now 50 seconds so decision time for Central if they want to burn one especially after losing some yardage there third and nine 35 seconds now they're getting up to the ball right around 27 seconds he's going to fake the hand off he's going to take a shot to the end zone to number 19 caught in the corner of the end zone
087s [Applause] touchdown touchdown cougars 22 seconds left in this first half we'll make it great ball there by the quarterback put it in the corner of the end zone where only 19 could get it good snap good hold kick is up and it is good will make it 140 here in this first half and that one kind of hurts right there Alex What A Catch you get his foot down and everything yeah just ran like a a fade route pretty much great catch Jace was even pushed him out of bound tried to push him out of bounds when he was in midair going up for it great body control to come down with it and get a foot down that's impressive Eagles Trail it 14 nothing Central starts with the football when we come out
088of halftime 20 minute half time Eagles walk back to the locker room that's about 200 yds away defense has done everything I think you could do in the first half I mean that's two big plays I'd say maybe four total those two big plays for a touchdown really hurt but got to keep your heads up still got a whole another half see if we can get some type of return here still got two timeouts see if we can go down and maybe get a field goal maybe a pass interference or something squib kick going to get picked up at about the 12 yd line by Hicks who tries to get to the middle of the field running the wrong direction now he's going to get tackled ran a long way to only gain a yard
08913 seconds I think if you coach Warner take a knee go in the half [Music] that squib there it looked like white wanted to get it janic wanted to get it ends up in Hick's hands looks like we're not going to take a knee we're going to run a play doubles to the left side sniffer back left Nelson motion man runs it to the left bends it to the outside gets tackled it's where the half is going to end Eagles defense doing everything that they can to keep the Eagles in the game offensively though got to get something going huge Drive coming out of halftime though we're going to run halftime run to a break we come back Eagles trailers one 14 nothing on kchs [Music] he [Music] he [Music] game plan going in halftime

095theme they got little voices going out and everything um color guard's dressed as astronauts Color Guard astronauts it's a good one Eagles going into the postseason biggest thing that we got to say the Eagles golfers Kyle chud and Avery Arendelle are at State I believe they go tomorrow I I think is when they have their round I'm not really sure if they do a Friday Saturday or what the deal is I did not find that in time soccer started today they started regionals played Southwestern P saww at 4:30 up in Alton they were victorious nine to nothing so they move on now to the Regional Championship at Alton Marquette stadium and that will be the winner of Alton Marquette and Roxanna so that'll be a Regional Championship at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday the 23rd wow
096that's really dragged that out there a little bit long there so uh good luck to the eagle soccer team boys soccer team nine nothing in victory over pasol Southwestern today go ahead and play the Explorers or shells for that Regional Championship then you go over to and they are in the Murphy's burough sectional so um good teams they got the number one seed I guess we'll stick with soccer real quick they got the number one seat overall Murphy's buror is the number uh two I believe that's how it would read on here Moder day is the one seed out of the South go to volleyball eagles are in the ston sectional and they are hosting the regional so Eagles valleyball will play the winner of Redbud and Chester Redbud and Chester play on Monday Eagles
097will play the winner on Tuesday night at 6 PM in Columbia so they'll play the winner of redb and Chester Tuesday night at 7 pm Nashville will play after us against the winner of alof and Roxanna Regional Championship hopefully the Eagles are playing in that game will be Thursday the 31st at 6: p.m. so again Eagles are hosting the regional there and uh got a lot of good things going for them they are in a stacked sectional they are the two seed I believe overall Breeze Moder day went to the southern half I guess you call it I don't know how it's all sub sectionals and everything now I don't know how it all works but Breeze Moder day and Breeze Central are both down below and they will face each other in a Regional
098Championship so luckily they get to beat up on each other and then you got Carlin Vela Stanton Hillsboro all those other teams getting thrown in the mix so ihsa playoffs underway now and uh Jared eagles need to win this one we're a playoff team at large but need to win at least one more to lock themselves in for sure yeah and I think we've given ourselves a pretty good shot on the defensive side of the ball we just can't really get the ball moving um Jace really can't get going Hicks definitely really can't get going at all so um definitely going to have to make some halftime adjustments maybe try to throw the ball a little bit short routes try to just get our athletes out in open space um but yeah I think our
099defense is really really been couple big plays getting them downfield and then um a great catch in that back of the End Zone on that last touchdown and then um just a just a mess up in the secondary on that first touchdown so I mean we're still in this game you definitely need to stop right out of halftime though whenever you play a good team like the Cougars are when you get an advantage or you get a turnover like we have three of them going you've got to take advantage of them and kudos to Breeze giving up three interceptions they haven't done it all year and they don't care they make a stop right away so um good job by the Eagles getting the turnovers good job by the Cougars stopping anything bid from happening
100so and offensively like you said nothing going Eagles unofficially stats from Brenan white standing behind us Eagles have 14 yards passing 57 yards rushing Breeze Central comes in to halftime 133 yards passing 30 yards on the ground so uh definitely leading on the scoreboard and in the stats too yeah and that 1 30 I mean it speaks volumes I know he has three interceptions but I mean they only have 30 rushing yards I think up front our up our whole lineman uh lineman scheme that we've been running on the defensive side of things tonight has done a really good job I think their biggest rush was probably that toss down our sideline that only went for a first down so I think um other than that when they run up the middle we've we've pretty
101much been there um but we just got to make sure we try to get to the quarterback a little bit better uh try to get a couple couple sacks to have have them go second and third and Longs watching a couple of the replays and had a a viewer text in as well holding penalties on Hudson if you and you told people watch Hudson on a couple of these plays he's in the back field and we said in one as the play was happening hold on Hudson didn't get called but you know holding can get called on every play but some of those were pretty blatant that I mean you got to throw a penalty flag I know we're in Breeze yeah but um on their sideline yeah but uh I mean that's just kudos
102to Hudson for every play getting in that back field no matter if he's getting held or not um doing a great job forcing everything back inside and making it tough uh for them to run the ball so now you come out we've got another eight minutes yet until this halim's over with what are you going to go in I defensively do you really make that many adjustments not really I think the secondary's done a pretty good job like I said they've only gave up those two big touchdowns and then a couple uh big passes great catches by number 19 um but other than that I think I think everything's looked looked pretty PR solid I think one thing we could change is maybe playing a little bit closer to the receivers uh not eight yards
103off the ball maybe move them up to six or five yards but um I know coach Shain worries about um the double double moves deep routes um that some of our guys aren't really uh I don't know how to word it but ready for I guess I could say um especially with this quarterback that can extend plays like no other offensively coach owner talked about last week an adjustment at halftime was made on a run play that we were having success with it they made the adjustment at halftime though and all of a sudden the hole that was there was really there so hopefully they're able to see it I mean they got enough iPads those yeah I was just going to say that's what those iPads are for and you hope that they go
104to them every time and uh and look at them those iPads brought to you by the Columbia quarterback Club got to thank them once again for always making this happen the broadcast the food everything so uh make sure you check out the raffle that the quarterback Club has going on it's a little bit of a reverse raffle as the first ticket pulled you get $50 the 50th ticket pulled is $150 and hopefully the 300th ticket that is the last ticket um that's the max that we will sell um that PlayOn will take home $300 so contact a quarterback Club member to get your tickets today and that drawing will happen at the chicken and beer dance the 1 of February at the Columbia American Legion we have any scores I haven't really looked no we
105do got another listener though X Eagle Kenny Fields is listening at home oh nice shout out Kenny Fields is that mod day across the way there with their lights on no I think they're on the road at St Teresa this week never mind then we're going to run to a commercial break real quick we still have five minutes to go until halftime ends I'm looking across the way I don't see the Eagles making their way out yet so we're going to run into a commercial break real quick and we'll come back with second half action of Columbia Eagles football after this n [Music] welcome back to kchs for the Eagles Trail this one 140 Central just made their way out on the field the Eagles now making their way out I guess I just didn't
106see them walking out defensively we talked or we talked about offensive stats defensive stats though leading the way in tackles is number two Logan Hicks Hudson has three along with Mason Mankey with two and x with two and then another five players with one tackle two picks for Mason and one pick for Logan Logan Hicks that that Logan interception I mean we had the ball at the 11 we got to get points out of there I know we had a blocked kick oh I forgot about that already you got to you got to come out of there with points because I mean when they're giving you the ball right there they're literally asking you to score so I mean you you got to you got to take advantage of that every time do you think
107coach stump will get in on a little Q&A real quick with you if you want all right see he he's about to walk up right here coach stumps trying to get the headset on real quick we're just going to have two quick questions you don't have to take your hat off it's not like you got hair that's making the headset not fit good stump going in got the pick at the 11 yard line weren't able to score defensively though you got to be happy with what's going on yeah I mean couple plays we' like to have back um but other than that we've been pretty sound um yeah so far not too bad any adjustments that you guys talked about at halftime just making sure we stay in coverage um watch for for the double
108moves things like that they do a real good job of that and have shown it on film we just got to be ready uh for stuff like that and stay prepared you just made the long long walk there and back are you wind you are winded all right get back in there get with Coach George in the side over there thanks for joining us coach stump three minutes now on the game clock for the guys to warm up Jared like you said this is a huge huge huge Drive coming out of half you got to get a stop if you're the Eagles yeah anytime it's a two-possession game you're always in the game but obviously that pushes the three possessions it comes a little tougher especially in the second half and especially when your offense
109hasn't really produced much in that first half so um yeah you're hoping for I mean you're I know you're hoping for another turnover but we had three in the first half so I guess we got to hope for another turnover here in the second half don't forget Central came in hadn't thrown a pick all year they got three lot on the line here tonight Eagles trying to spoil senior night spoil an undefeated season trying to become try conference Champs if a eagle Victory here tonight assuming Roxanna beats Wood River seeding becomes a huge thing now with playoff points and six wins get you in the playoffs for sure so Eagles are going to need to uh make something happen here tonight don't forget playoff pairing show more details come out on the 21st but the
110show is going to be on the 26th no matter what it's usually around 7 o'clock when the 4A bracket comes out they'll do a little bit of a show just kind of leading up to everything talking about everything and then about every 10 minutes they give you each division bracket so Eagles are going to be 4 a once again like normal East Side playing against Edwardsville 77 about to go into halftime wow yeah interesting score there interesting game that's not a conference game or anything either for either team I was looking for some of our conference scores but don't see nothing yet we knew we'd have a good one here tonight and we did Eagles are going to try to make something happen under a minute now before kickoff happens Eagles are still out on
111the field stretching they are now in a huddle all right see if our defense can get a stop here hopefully this off our offense can get something going just a couple first downs just to get build some confidence on that front line and especially the quarterback Breeze could put it away I think with the score here I don't want to be Debbie Downer but I think a score that takes every ounce of momentum over there and everything I think I'm going to try to watch a little bit more Hudson Bryan I know we say it I want to see if there is holding penalties that aren't getting called you challenge here Jace as a corner hubard haven't said his his name too much tonight he's been the other Corner then obviously Mason and X as
112your safeties and I know you come in this game I mean at halftime you're down 14 nothing but I think you come in here already down seven just with everything going on tonight I mean they're seven and0 on the road big conference game and that bright scoreboard at the end of the the field lights up you can see it from the highway it was when we left Moder day I looked over and you could see it it's impressive hopefully Columbia can get something like that here in the near future it'd be pretty cool we'll have to have TJ zoom over on that thing before the game's over with but before he does that we are going to have third quarter football Cunningham pooches it middle of the field going to be caught at the 31
113yd line they're going to run it to this side steel forced him back in it's like 70 72 Dylan Robinson on the tackle cougars are going to start at the 32 yd line 37 yd line I missed five yards wrong line four down lineman for the Eagles three linebackers Hubbert little bit closer he's only five yards off Jared hey look at that you're a smart guy run the ball up the middle nothing going good job from the backside K musoff gets in that back field maybe gain of half a yard great job KAS they ran it to the left he was he lined up on this left side of the field ran all the way to the right able to get in the back field second down and we'll say 10 doubles for the Cougars
114motion man number 29 running all over the place pitch it outside good job case in for nothing going on jce making the tackle third down and long he had three guys look like blocking him K was just kind of riding with him all the way towards that sideline to where forced him to go out so now you got third and long doubles with a looks like an upback number seven number seven Jack sturis said his name early in the game haven't said it too much this year used them early pass play looking to the left just quick hitches it's a smash route though number 21 makes a catch big return he might get into the end zone Mason's going to have to make a tackle it's going to be Keegan making the tackle at the
11510 yard line smash [Music] route injured cougar on the play a double move again and X kind of just over pursued there there's an injured cougar down on the field trying to see what our pass rush looked like to see anytime you have a double move you got to have someone in that back field only a three-man rush though great job by big Central guys up front 21 able to get up after that injury walk off the field under his own power so cougars had the ball at about the 37 now they got the ball at the 10 first and goal from the 10 Single receivers out wide quarterback turns around hands the wall off up the middle number two B the left yeah thank you the don't don't retaliate they they threw the flag
116they finally called the flag left tackle's been holding first whole first half finally decide to call it oh yeah we'll take it for sure in case in kind of retaliated after the play you got to be smart second guy always gets caught loss of 10 takes away the touchdown first down and goal from the 17 yd line 16 yd line let's hope that's a drive killer here I don't know it almost seems scarier for me cuz 15 can just let that let that arm work got a little more room to work with ocean man 29 across the field bootleg quarterback's looking to the middle of the field throws it back across the field touchdown couple flags and he that he should be kicked out of the [Music] game after the play I think Cas might
117hit the quarterback a little bit late 61 just had the hold came over and hit Cas musop in the back and then walked over him basically had a little extra to say at the end too man now is it a touchdown does it happen during the play or after the play white hat over talking to coach Herer right now trying to figure out what's going on yeah touchdown might stand because that was after the play but we'll see what they want to call [Music] here Sportsman like on the offense he should have got a double call shoved him in the back and then looked over him that should be two personal fouls he should be out of the game I don't know if you agree Alex but that's that's not a football move no I
118wish we were [Music] outside starting to sweat Alex thank you I'm surprised he officially had two flags in his pocket he was reaching for it probably in a sock on for the pat now after a little bit of a delay good snap hold kick up good 1044 remaining in the third quarter Central lead just won 21 nothing we're going to run to a commercial break we come back Eagles offense gets on the field has to get in the end zone a [Music] on sportsmanlike penalty is assessed to the 25 yd line where the Eagles hopefully will have good field position after the kickoff watch the replay again right there could have been another hold I mean it was another blatant hold I think doesn't matter what I think though ball caught 25 yd line keeping
119it to the left side is Hicks he sits down a little bit gets tackled at the 40 where the Eagles are going to start over and you look at the Eagles walking walking walking and these cougars are moving all momentum on this sideline boy we got guys walking on the field off the field guys going off late don't know what's going on I think here coach horer just I think he needs to just try to move get just try to get a good drive going short increments of yards four to five yard for play try to move down the field and just get some points on the board Begley turns around hands the football off stiff arm out of hicks run it to the right side puts his foot in the ground gain a three
120I think we need to get the ball moving a little bit we're kind of standing around try to get something going that's probably the third or fourth time that a running back or receiver has had to stiff arm a guy in the back field though somebody's missing their block up front kind of noticed a little bit our guys are moving as the snaps coming back already it's almost like the Snaps are a little slow I'll take four yards there just keep keep getting these yardage right here and you can set yourself up for a great Drive single receivers out wide tight end right sniffer backck right vaguely hands a ball off right into a wall of cougars gaining nothing third and alongs [Music] five and you got to give props to centrals defense tonight all
121over the field multiple Central cougars fly into the football big third down here third down in about five and this could be a a make or break play for this this whole game here see what coach horer wants to do empty Back Field doubles to the right side single receiver over here to the left is Nelson motion man Hicks vaguely keeps it up the middle good for a first down lowers his shoulder after contact five more yards good run gain of 15 maybe even 20 first and 10 in cougar territory at the 41 hit ran over oh my gosh and hopefully that's a little bit momentum for your offense in that Columbia Eagles sideline what a hit put on by Mason vley oh my goodness seven yards after lowering the Boom but we get a
122big play now we're back to slow 30 seconds off the play clock before we can get anything going again doubles are the right side tight end left sniffer right pistol back is Nelson turn around hand the ball up the middle I'll take that another gain of four second and six we're kind of going in a a three-man rotation now Mason gets a carry Logan you get a carry then jaay you get a carry so I like how coach Warner is kind of mixing it up a little bit see if he wants to get Keegan involved or uh Janik or Hudson Bryan involved a little bit it's kind of been a three-man offense all night all year all year it all starts up front hopefully these these big boys up front can keep keep going on
123this drive going to pick up a couple more first downs Eagle second six doubles to the right side motion man Hicks coming to the left fake it to him going to be a pass play vaguely is going to have to scramble tries to set up throws it throws it to the middle of the field it's going to be picked off at about the 19 yd [Music] line return to the 30 not a very good decision there by vagley tried rolling out this way had Keegan early but about three or four cougars in his face couldn't really boy there is no offensive lineman blocking there really and I think he was trying not to get a grounding he was trying to get it back I mean he was out of the pocket though so that wouldn't
124have mattered and there you just probably throw it out of bounds I think that's what he was trying to do but chucked it down the middle of the field Eagles defense has to get a stop now we've said that a couple times Run play right up the middle bust it to the left side good for about 20 keeps his feet moving out of bounds is the running back number four Cole Davis Big gain [Applause] [Music] first and 10 for the Cougars from the 46 yd line they are in complete control of everything right now going to be a pass play double move left side quarterback throws it up there Nelson on defense off the fingertips of the wouldbe receiver if that ref called Chop block on our looks like quarterback signaling hold though on the
125offensive side I thought they were going to call something on Bryant there people upset about a holding call they've been doing it all night yeah it's not the first one and it's crazy now that it's happening see how often it happens I I was I was telling you in the first half h is getting held a lot first and long action looking to the right side another man wide opens number nine just out of the arms I said we hadn't been saying hub's name very much tonight glad we didn't have to say it for the wrong reason there injured cougar on the play 726 remaining in the third quarter looks like he's just cramping up Eagles Trail it 21 nothing Eagles next week get to go home for senior night the Panthers are in town
126that's the Panthers do we know the Panthers it's on hoe sheet let me find Ho's paperwork here Jersey host Highland jerseys two and five this year they are hosting the Bulldogs of Highland who are four and3 in an MVC matchup it was one of the two victories for the Eagles last year so hopefully the Eagles are get that sixth win next week not over here yet but Eagles have zero momentum right now is that Mason's second pick tonight that he threw I think he threw one in the first half as well I have no idea I have memory issues oh yeah it was the Deep ball I remember oh yeah first drive wasn't it yeah second Drive something like that [Music] early injured cougar I forgot that's what we were waiting on wow you're harsh
127well I just forg I know I'm joking man make me feel this big injured cougar is walking off on his own power it is number sorry about that number nine Benny Layman Benny Layman three receptions for 75 yards he's the guy that sends it deep and spreads it out for the cookers deep bre doubles up back for the Cougars looking right double move they're looking deep quarterback throws it good throw good defense third and 20 now pass interference the ball was five yards out of bounds oh get him oh don't even start don't even start happens every week tackle that man I just shut the window and all the parents are turning around yep like I did something wrong it's all right happens every time so third and 20 ball at the Cougars 44 718
128remaining trips to the right side a little bit of a stacked look going to be a boot to the right side quarterback looking downfield throws it got a man near the sideline and it goes incomplete Mason about a yard away fourth and 20 good job there by the Eagles defense see what happens when they call a hold though and it changes the whole trajectory of the drive pushes him back on first down I'm going to be interested when we go back and watch the replay how many there are and how things could have could have been Jace standing at the 24 yd line they're gonna yeah there's I was going to say somebody's got to run out here on this receiver just throw it straight to him high snap brought down punts off Jace is
129going to let it bounce at the 20 and it checks up nicely for the Eagles luckily and it's down at the 18 yard line Jared said it before got a score yeah need more points than the other team had a good drive going that last last drive we had but kind of a weird decision by Mason on that throw but defense stands up once again again gets another stop see if the offense can get going trips to the right side for the Eagles running back is going to be janic to the right side of vagley four down linen three linebackers two linebackers play action vley now he's going to have to scramble nothing going we were wanting the tunnel screen still good it's about three yards thougher second and seven 647 left here in the
130third quarter cougars lead 21-0 Columbia offense really hasn't done anything all night and the football off Hicks going to the left side puts his foot in the ground gets up going to have enough for a first down good run first and 10 from the 29 you said it earlier we're running a little bit more outside now getting our athletes out in open space like we've been saying the last six years probably but it's as simple as that get the football in your playmaker's hands let them just let them go doubles are the right side tied end the left Bagley turns around hands the ball off gets met at the line of scrimmage is Nelson got absolutely smoked about two or three different Defenders there second and 11 now looks like Cooper white is going to
131check in Bryant is going to come off [Music] may he trips to the right side single receiver is Nelson with Cam janick as the sniffer [Music] back rolling out to the right sides vagle throws it caught Thompson good for about seven manageable third down third and three love the play call I wish we would have ran that earlier seven times work there though so big third down here once [Music] again I almost don't like Mason just standing in the pocket I kind of like him rolling out like you said earlier because he's able to run it really well for a quarterback big third down here you do not want to punt and give them the ball up 20 or down 21 Eagles throwing an extra lineman out there once again motion man Nelson left to
132right quarterback keep it vaguely he's hit at the line of scrimmage going to be a loss on the play and I don't I don't know if you start thinking about going for it yet you probably do cuz you're going to have to score more than 21 points but they're going to bring the punt team out think about a fake maybe some of the those ruges Mason throughout the year I thought he was going to put his head down and run but it's why we choose to do that rugby style CU it's normally our quarterback that's the punter so sometimes he can make a decision of his own unfortunately going into the boundary it's not a very good one to be running on yeah Cougar's bringing pressure notices it kicks it off caught at the 30
133yd line blocking the back up to the field to the 4550 he's going to be brought down by Keegan at the 50 yd line Cougar's taking over with the football 434 need a scoop and score pick six something here for the Eagles stops are good but about running out of time for stops first and 10 for the Cougars Eagles trying to get the defense squared away what they need it to be four down linemen two linebackers three linebackers didn't see Coupe over there on the other side of the official quarterback play action looking deep middle of the field going to be throwing it over here to the corner now great catch on the [Applause] play Griffin Becker with another great catch High Point in the football Jace was there look at that they're up 21
134nothing they're still going to sling the pig skin round they know that's probably their best bet no one we've been stopping the run all night and they got us [Applause] again I've never understood that as a lineman man the football is literally a foot away from you yeah and you're watching the ball always first and five now for the Cougars quarterback hands the ball off up the middle good job there once again Mankey Mankey grabbed a hold right away and was able to make the tackle along with a couple other Eagles second and three and other than that him jumping off sides Mankey jumping off sides in that first half he's had a really good night tonight stuffing up the middle especially without Lincoln Corbin in there as well Malachi bassets in there now you
135got Furlow on this side and you have Brian on the other side furo taking the place of Janik I don't see Janik over there quarterback's going to turn around hand the ball off running back trying to show patience showed too much patience though as Furlow is able to get back there and make the tackle brings up a third and three what have they never heard flock of eagles before I think we say that every week Alex I give the central fans credit I mean they have fun when they're out here they do they're always Rowdy always full of full stands they wrap all the way around over to the concession stands quarterback fakes it to their short man now he's going to scramble tries to extend the play throws it down deep to number 19
136who high points it once again Griffin Becker in the end zone once again for a [Music] touchdown penalty flag on the play [Applause] legal man downfield hold your horses loss of five third and eight who is it I did not see anybody downfield on the replay we have was a wide receiver covered up don't know throw to the left side third and eight turns into a first and [Music] 10 brings up first and 10 from the 21 yd line see if we can watch who gets depleted for the Eagles there quarterback turns around hands the ball off up the middle bends it to the left side keeps his feet Moving Two missed tackles out of the vagle brothers Dives for the pylon out of bounds up a first and goal like that was Cooper white
137first and goal from the three and a half quarterback turns around hands the ball off nothing going good job there by the Eagles defense do on the Tackle Bryant was there as well under two minutes now need a fumble or bad snap something here four scores is tough to come back from sweep to the outside good job there Cooper W haven't said your name a lot tonight we'll say it now lost of three brings up third and goal from the [Music] nine good job there CP running the alley making an open field tackle good job by the Eagles all year making open field tackles empty backfield quarterback looking to the right side slant across the middle tipped good job there by the Eagles defense brings up fourth and goal from the nine look like they're
138going to bring out the kicking team try to make this 24 nothing still be a three possession game see if we can return the favor and get ourselves a block kick maybe return for a touchdown that would really be a momentum booster there I think that set the tone for the for the evening I mean moving the football and that happens going to be a 25 yd attempt kick is up and it is [Applause] good takes the score Breeze Central 24 Columbia 0o 48 seconds remaining in this third quarter I'm not saying that I watched the official just push one of our guys but I'm pretty confident I just watch the official push one of our guys I am pretty sure one of them just something's going on on that 100% now that I'm watching
139the replay I 100% watch the official push the ref and I think that's coach Kendall who the first one there I think that's Kendall whoa 100% happened whoa good job coach Kendall getting out there right away that's unbelievable that is unbelievable he shouldn't be able to W the rest of the game I'm sorry that is unacceptable you can't do that that is unacceptable high school student you're a grown adult you take on you take on the job to be an official you cannot put your hands on a student yeah and I would do the same thing if that was my son I'm not going to lie wow no that is unbelievable 24 nothing Eagles offense is about to get the football back I've never seen that before wow good kick once again out of central
140returned by Hicks running to the right side puts his foot in the ground gets up to the 25 about the 27 yd line [Applause] I'm in shock by that yeah I am too and now that official has to stand on our sideline and he's talking to oh now he's now he's Mr Nice Guy this might be his last game riffing High School football doubles to the right side single receiver to the left going to be Nelson counter coming right back at us is Hicks lowers his shoulder gets about five yds second and five I think he was expecting contact a little bit quicker there and went down made my heart rate go up a little bit I don't like stuff like that you're a grown man trips to the right side running back to the
141right bagely rolls right has Thompson at the sticks good defense there out of central penalty on the play for the young Sportsman like on the excitement probably a lot of words being exchanged down there if I had to guess I don't know who this coach is at the 45 for Central but as soon as he saw the excitement and the celebration penalty flag went in the air and he turned into the sideline right away and got a sub out there so it's going to be a 15 yard penalty after the [Music] play you know usually we have parents saying don't stoop down to their level but we'll just shut the window on that statement first and 10 from the 47 doubles running back to the right side is Janik vaguely looking left double move throws
142it out here to jaay ah slipped tries to make a move slips gain of five and of the quarter that'll take the quarter Eagles got a lot of ground to make up only a three-score game 24 nothing we'll be back with the fourth quarter after this [Music] he [Music] welcome back to kchs Eagles Trail at 24 nothing lot of ground to make up move the ball a couple different times just can't get in the end zone let's see if we can do it here as we have the ball on the central 49 yd line Eagles we've said it a couple different times this year have moved the ball just can't get into the end zone Rox Santa game yeah we've been moving a little bit better here in this second half that first half we
143struggled a little bit they gave us the ball at the 11 on that interception but other than that we haven't really got anything going doubles to the right side motion man Hicks play action bootleg vaguely look across the middle of the field good catch there Jace Nelson that should be good for a first down what is they got on our sine terrible spot this sideline has a first down it needs to go with this guy I think too and it's not what is that spot you need to measure that too it's cuz he's on our sideline he don't like us I'm telling you what is that that is not right Che third Ines oh my goodness I'm sorry I'm getting a little mad here but it's a big game third inches double to the right
144side empty Back Field tight end left sniffer back left ble puts Hicks in motion hands the ball off tries to go out wide stiff arm first and 10 lowers the shoulder cross the 40 yd line to the Cougars 37 gain of about six ball to the 37 clock is not on our side 11 minutes to go now if you're coach Warner I think you got to have plays in your in your head going right away again 25 seconds off the play clock or game clock play clock both of them doubles to the right side single receiver left motion man his Hicks once again bootleg vagley sets up goes back across the field but he's not going to have anything going and if you watch at the end of the play watch where case musop standing
145not making any blocks sack loss of two ball at the cougar 39 second and [Music] 12 trips to the right side now gley looking right throws it to the middle of the field caught penalty flag thrown looked like when he threw the flag it hit KAS right in the stomach too oh maybe a block in the back he did a little spin move on him K kind of kind of got away yeah I can see it didn't want to see it so loss of 10 on the play takes it back back to the cougar 49 yd line again get things moving bring it back 10 minutes to go now in the ball game Conference Championship on the line looking like it's going to stay here in [Applause] [Music] Breeze doubles to the right side empty
146Back Field tight end left sniffer back left motion man nobody I thought it was going to be Hicks vagley throws it incomplete third down and 20 really no time to throw there for vagley clock stops at 9:41 third and very very long got to get to about the 28 just to get a first down if you can get to the 40 on this play brings up a fourth and 12 it's better than fourth and 22 some would say I don't need all 28 or whatever it is right now 22 if you can just yeah get to the 40 here and give yourself a a chance got to call a timeout play coock expires 940 to go in the game we're going to run to a commercial break real quick we come back we'll have fourth
147quarter after this [Music] he [Music] welcome back to kchs presented by the Columbia quarterback Club 24 941 remaining in the ball game Eagles facing a third and 20 trips bunch to the left side ball in the middle of the field vaguely going to have to scramble throws it incomplete over the head of Nelson the wouldbe receiver looked like we were trying to get it all back right there punt team is going to come out don't want to give them the ball at Midfield and make them earn it putting this way so we would just went back to watch what happened on the shoved official or shoved player situation it was on the field goal he pushed it right Mason's going to punt here real quick gets it off going to be caught at the 15
148yd line number two gets to the middle of the field now he's trying to get over here to this sideline he's got the sideline and he's going to be brought down at the 37 so on the field goal you can go back and watch it this is where I wish we had replay Jared called that it was pushed right away if you watch the reaction out of all the eagles they all react like it was pushed to the right two officials call it good and that's when Keegan turned around and started talking I I it looked like it and it's that official approaches Keegan first so and then gives him a very good shove there at the end so just going to be a quick pitch to rockers on the right side and gain about
149six another flag on the play might be looked like maybe a face mask in the region of face mask I would guess Kudos is the coach Kendall still like I said he was there right away as soon as the shove happened so good job coach Kendall having your players back holding cougars it's been happening all night like I said I'm ready to go back and watch and see how many times it's happened so it's going to be a lost at 10 spot foul brings up a first down and 13 think if you're the Eagles now when you start scoring you're going for two every time C for bringing everybody near the line of scrimmage motion man 29 pitch to the right side good job there by Hudson Bryant making the tackle lost of five on
150the play good job flowing to the football Hudson while he's getting blocked does what he's supposed to do forces it right back in Jace there to make the tackle a great job just flowing with the way the ball's going great job motion man coming back across from where the motion was going on number 19 on the catch 19 with a lot of green grass ahead of him Mason's going to have to make the tackle and he does slings him down at the 35 yd line good for about 37 yards first and 10 8:15 ball at the Eagles 37 yd line cougars up to the line of scrimmage right away going to be a Pitch to the right side ah Logan Miss tackle out of Logan Miss tackle out of Mason good for first down before
151going out of bounds around the 20 yd line [Music] goes out of bounds stops the clock 806 doubles to the left side single receiver out to the right sniffer back right pistol back behind the quarterback play action looking back across the middle of the field quarterback's going to scramble get brought down case mus up with the tackle gain of [Music] two might have been Hudson on the tackle even KAS and Hudson were both there clock is on the cougar side now single receivers split out wide quarterback hands the ball off up the middle to number two gets through two tacklers good for another first down before getting driven out of bounds going to be a first down and goal [Music] Eagles just getting beat all over the place right now cougars are running it right
152down her throat single receiver still split out wide tight end left sniffer back left quarterback turns the ball hands it trying to get to the left side it's a race to the pylon and it's going to be good for another cougar touchdown [Music] this cougar team's ranked number one for a reason they're dominate I'm speechless my mind's on one thing right right now good snap good hold kick is up and good takes the score Central 31 Columbia zero we'd like to thank everybody for listening tonight all year one more regular season game next week against Jerseyville Eagles are going to try to get back on the winning ways hopefully then improve to six and three and help in the playoffs I would assume we're going to be on the road you never know six and
153three team yeah has hosted before then it starts depending on playoff points and everything else though so we got a lot of them I think we came in with 30 no it's got to be around there it's usually around 25 to 30 that's what we're at right now we're already I mean we're for sure even at five wins we'll get in with yeah the amount of playoff points we have water's six and one they're seven and0 got a team like roxan who's got multiple wins this year here I think modern day's only got [Music] three 31 nothing here seven minutes left in the ball game it's going to send it deep it's going to go out of bounds you have him re kick you take your fight or take a penalty I would take the
154penalty what's that website you find football scor on Twitter X here let me look that's all you so with the kick going out of bounds Eagles get the ball at the 35 see if we can get something going now Brandon how many yards we got in this second half how many yards we got in this second half let him add it up real quick doubles to the left side we'll call it trips to the left side with where janic is standing fake quarterback keep spinning around not much going on though officially unofficial 43 yards of offense for the Eagles in this half it feels like that yeah especially with a couple penalties pushing you back then you're you pretty much have to throw the ball when you're second and long third and long so tough
155for the Eagles to get back in it clock still ticking at 6:30 second down here for Columbia same formation probably the same play if I had to guess Nelson goes to the wide side of the field going to be a loss of one on the play this defense has been clamps all night got to give props when props are due I mean they got guys flying all over the field going to go trip stack here it looks like lined up inside the [Applause] hashes there you go drops back steps up into the pocket throws it across the middle it's caught by Jace at the 49 yd line good for a first down gain of about 15 kind of bobbled it a little bit but able to secure it right at Midfield and Jace has a
156lot probably three four catches tonight bunch of carries for him as well we're going to go simple double set with Cam Janik lined up as the running back bigle looks to the right side throws it pull the receiver caught gain of six gain of five second and five according to hoe Mason coming into tonight needed 11 passing yards to reach one mile of career passing yards how why does he do that stuff Jace needed 97 yards to reach 10,000 career rushing yards I don't know if he's got that tonight hopefully he gets it next week doesn't feel like he's got 97 yards rushing tonight definitely get it next year if not next week yeah doubles to the left side tight end right sniffer left hand the ball off to the left up to the line
157of scrimmage third and five remaining in the game doubles to the right side ball in the middle of the field tight end left sniffer back left motion man is Nelson going left to right vagle pulls it now he's got to scramble loss of six on the play fourth and [Applause] [Music] [Applause] 11 if you think about it this is probably one of the ugliest games that Central might have played all season long with three interceptions and they're still good and they're up 31 nothing they got a lot of Playmakers man the quarterback's good 19 is a step you can throw it anywhere and he's going to go up and get it and then the rocker kid he pretty much does it all you can put him anywhere on the field and he probably going to
158succeed Eagles had to burn a timeout right there don't know if they weren't expecting to punt it there or what the deal was but before the timeout there was only seven guys on the field the lineman all ran off the field little little chilly out there Mr White he's came in rubbing his hands together we're sorry for the shaky camera ladies and gentlemen TJ it's almost like we told him that hey dress warm because we might be inside bring some gloves next time 326 remaining fourth and 10 for the Eagles and overall in this game I mean just not a lot of offense not not a lot that we've been doing up front we've kind of been getting beat a little bit haven't been able to throw the ball too much offense is going to
159stay on the field fourth and 10 timeout cougars now it's one of those fourth quarters that takes on forever now your head on a swivel up here Jared they got a football toss going right now I'm waving my hands for one going have to shut the window we're going to take one through the window yeah it's right in the mouth man they're they're going everywhere oh I think she was trying she was trying for me no me I want a souvenir hold the phone she's got a cannon little dodgeball reference what is it dive duck dip dive and Dodge fourth and 10 for the Eagles from the 50 326 Eagles Trail this one 31 [Music] zero doubles vaguely looking left pressured throws it incomplete intended receiver was CP showed some UPS goes through his hands
160turn over on Downs Central takes over at the 50 looks like number three is going to take over at quarterback I like that play call there just watch the replay looks like coup's going to run a wheel and just runs to the sticks and stops so Central getting some of their starters out they're going to have to time call a timeout I would imagine you don't have to when the play clock doesn't start oh back judge is keeping track sweep to the left side CPS on defense going to be caught first and 10 gain of about 13 on the play I don't know why PE I used to do this if I knew I was getting blocked and getting pushed back I cuz I can pop up off the ground real quick I'll just follow
161my knees real quick he'll go tumbling over me pop right back up I don't know if anybody else has ever done that but once you're getting pushed back five six seven eight yards gets pretty tiring under three minutes now here in Breeze three's just going to hand it off up the middle oh good hit there out of ma Mason comes up makes the tackle gain of about five second and five now Central just going to use this clock here as much as they can second six letting the play clock run counter to the left side good job there Cooper W gaining nothing back to the original line of scrim or to the line of scrimmage don't forget folks tackle and hunger October 21st through the 25th look for the blue bins barrels at the school
162to donate your non-p perishable food items they will get weighed and it's a competition against Jerseyville pitch to the left side into the boundary good job forcing it back in out of hubard gets close to the first down they might give it to him 80 seconds remaining in the ball game probably enough for two more plays fourth and goal for four in goal fourth in inches I think he did go out of bounds though so clock stops at 122 now it starts the official measurement from 54 yards away single receiver split out wide hard count Eagles jump first and 10 66 seconds to go Victory formation is all cougars need to do and that's the third time they've got us on jumping off sides teams watch a little film they could take advantage of that
163later in postseason so cougars are going to go Victory formation now like I said next week Eagles will take on Jerseyville on senior night make sure you're there early to greet the seniors congratulate them on four years with Columbia football congratulations to the central cougars dominant game here out of them tonight six and0 in the conference conference Champs once again 8-0 on the season 8 and0 on the year number one team they play like it like I said it's always fun coming here good atmosphere great atmosphere they do it right out here it's a lot of fun do good things and uh hopefully we're able to uh beat them next year I guess thanks everybody once again for listening not too much to say I mean it was all Central cougars all night and it
164all started with that blocked PA or blocked field goal early oh yeah Eagles were able to force three interceptions tonight hasn't been done all year so it was a good job there not much to say though 2024 Kia conference Champs Central cougars improved to 80 the Columbia Eagles fall to 5 and three that's all we got from Clinton County tonight we'll send it to the ending marks and we'll see you all in week nine go Eagles baby [Music] n [Music] la [Music]
