003James Elliot Middle School assistant principal has resigned Wendy Stevens High School math teacher has resigned Dave goomers shimer bus driver is retiring um in August of this year Rosemary langang middle school counselor plans to retire at the end of the 2728 school year um and Rachel Foster High School attendance secretary will be leaving us we've got some Employments of educational support Personnel Megan clor Park viw lunch and recess supervisor Tina Zigman bus monitor cydney Willie prek Aftercare supervisor Chris Schult HV AC maintenance um Addison wam prek after Care supervisor that's just two days a week um JMA rodenberg prek Aftercare supervisor also two days a week and Sydney Willie prek after Care supervisor one day a week we also have Kelly heck G to be a new driver and um and uh Tracy Hayes for
004the high school secretary position to fill Rachel um Foster's position certified Personnel we have Joan vernum she will be the high school math teacher extracurriculars we had listed originally Tracy Hayes and Sarah KOST stump to be co-sponsors for the Middle School yearbook we're taking their name off because Miss Hayes has decided to take the pr of the secretary position at the high school Courtney bman is the replacement for that one as the Middle School yearbook supervisor Robin Siler is going to be the park viiew Eagle View yearbook co-sponsor with Jamie Mansfield as the Park viw yearbook book co-sponsor Joe B bur is going to pick up the assistant girls golf coach that came when Miss um oh Stevens left us um and Carolyn Kish will be the academic Club sponsor we've got no noncertified class
005advancements but we do have declaring of vacancies the Middle School 11mth SEC secretary and we need a student worker um for the after care Eagle Zone group all of those changes I emailed to you earlier today um because there were a lot of movement uh but Administration recommends that you approve it as presented right quick question you said we don't have a treasury report but or financial reports here you've got some of them the the account the July bills have not the the July bank account has not been reconciled okay so you'll get the July reconciliation later um there are some also some in between bills in there uh so it's really the the the reconciliation of that and some of the uh um the reports don't have the new budget numbers in yet it

007I have the August report for you um it is short but again I just now stepping in but it's been a good month so far um the first thing I would like to do is I would like to do a staff shout out um I'm very impressed with my Skyward team that was on the Forefront what I was asked to jump into with these three phenomenal individuals which have really stepped up to the the plate with helping with the Skyward transition um so miss Kimberly Johnson Mr Brian Reeves and Mr Trent our Tech director I don't know how to say his last name mfy mafy um all three of them have been such assets to our team and we have worked so well together um again if I ask them to meet they meet with
008me we all come to it to the table with different lenses and perspectives so it's been a really good journey so far speaking of Journey I know it was our new um way to do registration this summer we definitely had some hiccups but I think we communicated those hiccups and everything has been pretty uh seamless since then um teacher access we are ready to send them a training folder next week um with all of the information they will need to have proper teacher access to do all of the amazing things with attendance and Gradebook um really good things are going on so I feel like we're in a good place with Skyward and the team is just as I said phenomenal um I could not have done it as seamlessly without them so thank you
009the next thing I wanted to touch on is um I have the opportunity to be part of the Monroe random partnership um this I believe started last year through a grant that a Chester School District social worker kind of spearheaded and now since we're part of the county we are working together collaboratively I did get to attend the Columbia Library petting zoo on July 20th so that was pretty early on in my time here with the district um and it it was really amazing Early Childhood I think is something that is foundational to the success of education and what we're doing is we're bringing both counties together and we're sharing our resources and communicating that to the parents um to help with anything they might need um specifically with early childhood and that as I
010promised was a short report but if you have any questions I'd be happy to answer awesome thank you very much and we'll move on to our superintendent report um this week we had our open house for community members to see the construction news we had our bids and we've got an action item tonight to approve phase one um work on the high school and so that's exciting the open house had about 20 people there um the feedback regarding what we plan to do with the facilities and whatnot was very positive the fact that this we're doing this with the uh the sale of the bonds keeping that Bond and interest flat was well received the key questions are really about Transportation picking up and dropping off of your students at the middle school or the
011high school and how that's all going to work um Douglas brim the city planner uh City uh administrator was at the meeting and um he answered some questions when they started talking about the transportation you know about how we tried to get ID do to expand to three lanes but really anyone that has dropped off children at the high school I've done that I've not ever dropped off at the middle school but when you watch what's going on you feel everyone's pain but the students are there on time and everybody gets to school on time and people zipper in and um it it it works and so I do doesn't see the accidents and doesn't see the delays that would warrant a third lane um that said we're always trying to make it better but
012there is going to be the first couple of weeks us watching very closely about how we're transporting how we're moving how it's working and then what needs to be changed or or modified we've talked with the uh police department they will be on site helping us to monitor the traffic and discuss and debrief so um I just ask everybody uh to have patience with us during the morning commutes and the at the end of the schools we met with um Peter uh the construction company today and worked out some more of those details to make sure that deliveries aren't going to happen at that time and a lot of other key features but uh it's going good I can't believe that school starts next week um where did the summer go right uh that's pretty
013much it for my superintendent report very well thank you move right on to our items for Action the first one is the approval of the 20242 budget display we are currently pushing those numbers you take your last year's budgets and you kind of roll them over and then you massage them as needed with based on your projects and your increases and whatnot um we need to have that budget on display for 30 days which means I will post it or have it posted and I will email it out to you on 818 2024 that will allow it to be on display for 30 days prior to the um September board meeting so Administration recommends the board approve the posting of the fy2 budget on the 18th of August right may like to make a motion

015thank Lisa second I'll second thank you all in favor I any oppos motion carries all right next one's a big one so we're going to our approval for phase one bid package for the high school Expansion Project yes and this what what happened was phase one uh Peter sent out the bids for all of the different subcontractors uh the bids were opened and we are um reviewing them or I should say Petra has been reviewing them and uh we recommend that we move forward on the phase one B bids as presented I see was Ben here Ben is here there you are anything you want to so it's Killy po I'm sorry I seing she was hiding behind the thing you go all right and you guys want to uh say anything before we get
016into this or uh I think we had a we had a successful bid event uh I think we had a good turnout there was multiple contractors and all the bid packages that we solicited so that uh means the market at large is interested in your guys' projects we have two more phases to go um and based on where we budgeted phase one we're sitting in good shape for phases two and three so I think there's a lot of opportunity to continue to improve the facilities and working with the team Adam and Greg and the other building committee members it's been a very collaborative effort so we appreciate um your guys' interest and uh I think we're having a successful project okay anyone to add no perfect and Ben being modest his team has worked tirelessly
017on this project the solicitation was was very well done our response was overwhelming and we got a lot of competitive bid so really kept our prices down so and then it's not as easy as seems once you get get the bids and we got to go through and make sure everybody is up to this SN on the scope and they understand exactly what they're bidding on and so we're kind of wrestling with with some of those issues as well but uh it's it was well done and and great prep work to uh to make sure our end result is what it was so I think everything said and done is coming in under what we budgeted and expected so that's a that's a big win for the district so thank you all for your hard
018work um all right you want to with that I'll I'll make a motion so I move that the board award the phase one bid package including General trades concrete masonry structural steel Roofing and Sheet Metal aluminum storefronts drywall and paint fire suppression Plumbing HVAC and electrical as recommended from peeker construction for a total cost of 22,43 of, 453 and that the resulting phase one contracts for each subcontractor be assigned by the aard immediately upon this award pecker construction company pursuant to their a133 agreement between owner and construction manager as a Constructor with the district perfect we have a motion on the table normally have discussion before make a motion but uh we we had our discussion any other discussion I said yes we did have a discussion but it was all so anybody else need

022also helps with the competitive pricing so we were able to come in at a price that's you know below what we expected so um wanted to again thank Peter for doing such a good job with all the prep work because you don't have a good bit of in if you didn't do a whole lot of work in advance of it so um you know and I think yeah when we walked into the cafeteria where we did the the uh opening of the bids and there were people at pretty much every single table in the cafeteria that's a that's a really impressive turnout for a bid event so thank you anyone else pres Rogers I don't have anything this evening further um we do have an executive session for a purpose appointment appointment yes sir yeah
