Columbia Eagles AT Jersey Panthers Week 9 Varsity Football

001[Music] [Applause] [Music] w [Music] welcome in ladies and gentlemen to another edition of Columbia High School football right here on kchs we got the Eagles and the Panthers here tonight in week nine and it's a season that coming to an end Eagles are coming in at this game 1 and S jerseys coming in as well with a three and five record so the Eagles are going to try to salvage one thing here one last week Alex schmer and Jared Germaine with you in the aces wild pregame show Jared wonderful night here in Jersey yeah and we were talking on the way up how fast this year's gone we're already in week nine uh can't believe it's we're already here um I'm sure some of these fans are ready for the season to be over I

002mean it's been a been a rough one but um yeah like you said night nice night here tonight in Jerseyville um lot of fans still filing in senior night here in Jerseyville as well so um going to be a good one tonight senior night here we've got 15 seniors for the Panthers they just got done introducing them they have a brand new turf field this year I believe was the first year and pretty nice field little two-tone on the turf Panthers jersey Panthers are in the end zones and a little two-tone here on the numbers too kind of gives a little depth to the numbers so the Eagles are going to be on our left side warming up right now we got 22 minutes until kickoff uh talk about acus wild our pregame sponsor November

00311th they have live music from 6:00 to 10 it's a Saturday uh Andrew dolly is the singer's name so head up on November 11th December 2nd they also have live music Noah Messi will be there and that is the night of the lighted Christmas parade so that's going to be a fun night um and like always they have their queen of hearts $9,700 in the pot so next week the fire department is upping the payouts with their stage three once it gets into that uh $10,000 mark thank you to um our pregame meal sponsor I believe the boys had Emos on the way up I can't remember it's usually something pretty quick and simple um just so they can get it and go and that was by MF pools and creep LLC Mark furo donated

004the meals tonight so thank you to mark furo for getting the meals for the boys here tonight on their trip to Jersey and Jared we're coming into a game that the Eagles once again had an opportunity to win in week eight against the uh Bree Central cougars had a chance to win and I think that score of 3313 was a little closer than what it it seems yeah started off with the ball had probably one of our best drives of the whole season went down and scored made it seven nothing early um and then we were kind of on our heels uh from that point um they really started running the ball a lot more um we really couldn't stop it they had a bunch of different formations that uh we couldn't really we couldn't

005really stop either so um I mean coming into theight we're definitely going to see a lot of different formations that Jerseyville runs kind of like the same thing that Central ran last week um but also congratulations I just remember Brian shorty that was his 100th win last week uh got giving them in the playoffs as well so always rooting for that team whenever they go to the playoffs it was every time you play Central it's always a battle and like you said that 33113 was not really what it looked like watching the game I mean we made kind of a comeback there at the end um but we were still down 20 but um overall um Central is pretty good team that play every year and usually the top of the conference so um just

006got to forget about that one and come in tonight and have fun in your last game of the year well the good thing is there's no pressure coming into tonight as the captains are going out now it's going to be Denny Jackson uh rainwater and Kish are going to be our captains for us so we'll see if we can watch that what's going on there but a little bit more about last week Jared in a game that like you said that first drive we ran the ball down down the field it seemed like and we kind of got away from that so it' be interested to see if coach orner has a game plan and sticks with it tonight and kind of you know running the ball has been our our key last couple weeks

007yeah especially in the beginning of the game uh just establishing the Run having your o line get comfortable um throughout the whole game It's always important that you establish the run in that first or second Drive um and that's what we did um then we started throwing the ball a little bit more uh which I I was kind of I was kind of befuddled by but um I mean Mason last week through 14 for 24 139 yards and had a touchdown um but then you had Sam Denny with six catches 48 yards rebling pitched in three catches for 13 yards and then rainwater uh with that big catch two for 60 yards so um I mean overall on the offensive side of the ball we've said it all year we got three running backs that

008we rotate always staying fresh um but we can also get the ball out to our four wide receivers that we got that can uh get out in open field make make plays Sam ddy the senior that uh coming off an injury I believe from last year and had himself he's been some we've talked about a little bit more and more as The Season's gone on so nice to see him getting in the to the lead there with the catches 6 for 48s not a bad night I mean you're averaging eight yards of reception there so uh interested to see if we will continue to use him tonight and we'll see how Jersey is going to defend him as well well and Sam Denny's a guy uh who started as a sophomore uh on the defensive

009side of the ball didn't really play much wide receiver um but this year he's really put himself as one of our top guys um on the outside uh on the outside basically so um I would really like to see him get in the end zone he hasn't scored yet this year he's I think our our only wide receiver that hasn't scored uh built him in rainwater and rebling have all got in the end zone so I'd like to see uh the senior Denny get in there and I'm sure that's something coach hner probably knows as well and I'm sure he'll be looking into it so we had 258 yards of offense for the Eagles last week you'll flip it over now on the defensive side of the football and Central pretty much did what they

010wanted I think we figured up they had 354 yards of offense off the top of my head I can't really remember but Sam Denny once again leading tackler 13 total tackles then you have Hicks with eight Mason vagley with eight total tackles Brandon jacks seven Keegan Thompson seven total tackles with one fumble return and uh Hudson Bryant six total tackles and watching that game last week Hudson was the smallest lineman hands down and it's every week he's that smallest lineman but he was going up against a right tackle last week that was 100 lbs heavier yeah in the last four or five weeks we started started to use him as that uh sort of a d end uh that'll put his hand in the grass um he's going to be smaller than a lot of

011those linemen like he said but um he's going to be a lot quicker than them and let him let him get in the back field um and trip some guys up then you have your linebackers throwing the ball uh that's always that's always a plus defensively like I said uh what they have on passing you got the sheet there in front of you maybe he threw 6 for 18 only 117 yards one touchdown but we just couldn't stop number two uh Kaden rocker's 26 carries 175 yards so uh it was pretty much gave the number two all night um and he pretty much took him to the promis land last week if you would have told me that he had 175 yards even you just telling me that right now I I didn't realize he

012had that many I knew he ran a lot but didn't realize that it was that many yards so when they had those it was like their Garden tackle when they were polling you had number eight 80 coming around there was a lot of lot of guys coming at you and you had to get out of the way and they would have like we we usually have the one sniffer back up they had two sniffer backs plus two running backs so they'd have basically three lead blockers for number two last week which we kind of had a hard time stopping well we're about 16 minutes away from kickoff we're going to go to a break real quick and whenever we come back we will talk about the conference schedule that we have coming up or not

013the conference schedule but everybody in our conference what they have in week nine and we will give you what we are expecting here in Jerseyville we will be back right after [Music] this [Music] n [Music] welcome back ladies and gentlemen into the aces wild pregame show Alex schummer and Jared Germaine coming to you with week nine and Jared we look at the kokia conference standings about what we expected them to be Roxanna ran the table they're eight and0 going uh we'll talk about who they're playing in a second they're 8-0 5-0 in the conference Breeze Central 6-2 4-1 freeberg 5 and3 3 and2 Salem 4- four 2 and three Columbia 1 and 7 1 and four and Wood River 0 and8 0 and five and when we talked at the beginning of the year besides

014us being in the uh what's that the five slot there pretty much what we expected yeah roxan and Central like we've said all year that was always going to be the two top teams in the c conference this season and then freeberg and Salem are those two teams that can always play with you um and can always pretty much make anything happen and then you see us there at the bottom with Wood River uh not not not a happy season for uh for either of those teams but um coming into week nine you got to try to stay positive and have fun in your last week let's talk a little bit about these teams and what they're going to be going up against Roxana coming in at 8-0 if they don't go 9 and0 tonight

015with a game against Marquette who's 1 and seven I would be completely shocked and you talk a little bit about Breeze Central they're going to play Heron Heron doesn't have the best record but I think what are they like four and four or something like that we think so but on a game like that I think they're at Heron too makes it even tougher yeah especially if you're four and four like water is tonight as well host and freeberg um got a couple couple games that that are pretty big try to get in the playoffs if you get that uh that fifth win of the Season get a better chance of getting in the playoffs you got to have enough playoff points of course but um everybody's always trying to get at least five wins

016on the season and they're and they're right there so Jersey or I'm sorry waterl they're an interesting one they're four and four uh freeberg is already in they got their five wins so they're already in they're going to have enough playoff points and they'll have the points but waterl though if they go five and four I don't know if they're going to have enough points to get in I mean obviously we're only giving them one win Jersey's going to give them hopefully only three wins Highland and Highland probably got them I'd say five or six this year I think six and one cm and triad probably only got one or two this year I'd say mosca didn't really get on much either so it's interesting to see what that game's going to bring Salem who

017do they play tonight do we have any idea Salem will be playing Charleston who's six and two I believe Salem is already in as well we'll see if we can oh yeah well they're four and four so they got to win tonight got to win tonight now this is an interesting game here though too with Jerseyville yes they are going to be if they would win they would be four and five but as many points as they have they might be able to get in at a at a very sneaky way of getting in you're going to have to go play one of the top teams in the state I'm sure but they have a shot at getting in so going to be interesting it's always interesting in week n and we kind of laughed

018and joked you know this is always a fun night because coach Germain is an animal at this stuff he knows who they're playing the night before every even last week sometimes uh week seven week eight he's already eyeing up teams that we're going to be playing in the playoffs and usually the game after uh week nine he's stays up till 3: 4 in the morning figuring out who we're going to play and he usually gets it right so no do no staying up till 4: a.m. tonight though no no not trying to figure that stuff out so you know we got all that stuff going on and we get a lot of our stats you hear it from Howie thank you to Howie once again and Sharky for doing everything that they do and coming

019in this year uh when we talk about the playoff teams a roxan is already in Breeze Central Breeze Moder day is also in I forgot to even talk about them they're in at 6 and two at the 2A level freeberg will be in Taylorville is four- four so they got a shot of getting in water Salem and Jersey I'll have a chance at getting in Eagles offensively though this year according to Howie we've got 109 points scored given up 176 and something that I thought was interesting six straight years with a shutout so is the Coach G in that that one win this season that oh yeah it was a shut out 42 nothing wasn't it it was he yeah man I didn't even think about it that way yeah so great job there by

020the Eagles defense holding that shut out too uh like I said earlier jerseys got a shot at getting in season finales I asked this question last week to hoe about senior night if he knew what the record was and he didn't know that one but he knows that coach owner is 10 and 12 in the final game of the season and last year the Eagles were beaten at home uh 0 to 19 I think last time we were here we won big I believe think two or three score game so the Eagles all together are three and2 in the series against the Jersey Panthers we got about nine minutes to go here in the aces wild pregame show so let's talk a little bit about these Jersey Panthers uh like I said coming in only

021three and five but you look at their linemen pretty big boys all the way across the line yeah like you said they're big number 22 is going to be the guy we kind of hone in on all night Aiden tally got 11 touchdowns on the year looks like he's going to be the running back got 139 attempts 197 19 what am I saying 917 yards nine touchdowns on the year um got a wide receiver 19 catches 334 yards only two touchdowns on the season so they're going to be a run heavy offense I know they run a lot of different formations but yeah they're big up front going to be a lot bigger than we are um so we're we're going to have to get in that back field maybe uh see a lot of

022blitzing tonight um and just try to be quicker than those biger B guys up front jerseys made their way out on the field 8:30 to go before kickoff so this is a little bit of an interesting layout here our coaches do not even come over into the Press Box area they have their own little perch if you will on our sideline so our coaches stay over there our boys are making their way out of a I'm going to call it a Fieldhouse on our sideline so they don't have to go to the school I don't even think the schoolers around here um so we're going to be facing our sideline tonight like I said Fieldhouse over there our boys are making their way out everyone's lining up for the national anthem and we'll run to

023a break while that Anthem is being played and when we come back we will have the opening kickoff and we will have week n football right after [Music] this [Music] he [Music] n welcome back ladies and gentlemen into the aces wild pregame show Alex schlimmer and Jared Germaine getting ready to bring you week nine football where the Eagles are going to try to leave on a high note this year where just under five minutes now till kickoff I think we're going to start a little early though based on how it looks with the teams getting ready to go onto the field Jared your three keys into this game tonight what are they uh my first one would be be if you're if you're a senior uh you know it's your last game ever you're not

024going to get in the playoff so uh just go out there and have fun with your guys a lot of these a lot of these seniors have been playing uh with these guys for 12 13 years almost um going back to Blue J days so that would be that that would be number one um second one is uh enjoy enjoy this night uh it's the last night of high school football uh for a lot of teams around the area um a lot of a lot of teams don't don't get to go to the playoffs which uh for us we're we're pretty known to go to the playoffs but uh not this season um and then I'd be my third one would uh be probably stop number 22 tonight uh they're going to they're going to

025run the ball a lot I want to see that D line and the linebackers make make a lot of tackles in the back field uh maybe see a defensive touchdown again defensive touchdown there you go a little scoop and score Hudson Bryant had one of those 5050 y already this year two weeks ago I think that national anthem was very good they have a massive trumpets man those trumpets don't may have me tearing up they got a big band here but they uh broke it down for the national anthem there might have only been about 15 kids playing but did a heck of a job there for the anthem Eagles are coming out now and they will be going from right to left they will be or we will be getting the ball on this

026opening kick Eagles are coming out all white tonight white tops white bottoms white helmets Jersey is going to have the white pants baby blue jerseys with a white helmet a lot of pink socks out there as it is still breast cancer awareness month we got Eagle football coming at you now as the opening kickoff is going to be caught by Dalton rainwater at the 15 he's trying to get by the left sideline he gets up to the 33 and a pretty good return there for the Eagles I still think it's hilarious looking over there at our sideline you see all our fans and you look up higher you see coach Baker and Coach stump at the very top oh that's awesome ball boy Matt gets the ball out to the officials the Eagles will be

027on the left hash like I said they will be going from our right to left they will be facing the scoreboard here in the first quarter we're going to start out trips to the right side jerseys showing two guys blitzing in the linebackers running back's going to be to our right side lot of movement going on on the defensive front bigley takes a snap throws it to the outside and it's going to be nearly intercepted just wanted a quick bubble route nothing going though incomplete second and 10 and I saw right whenever Mason vaguely uh took that snap there he looked to the sideline I don't even think he knew or anybody knew what the play was coach Horner was yelling bubble I could hear him with the headset on over here so that's that's

028never good usually have about a six to six to seven eight play schedule that you're going to be running those first couple drives two running backs on each side or one running back on each side of Mason now sniffer back to the right side it's going to be a handoff to jayon Nelson to the right side he's going to try to make a man miss he does he lowers the shoulder gets good six yards brings up a third and four Nelson On Carry tackled there by with a good push in the back there to Nelson we've seen that all season long too every time he hands off on that outside Zone gives his running back a a big old push in the back tell him to get going you're going to have third and three

029here now looks like we're going to go doubles to the left side here with pton Andrews as that sniffer back going to be the same formation just going to flip it balls on the right hash three down linemen two linebackers are playing like a defensive end it's going to be a fake handoff egley is going to keep it himself he's going to get to the right side he's going to dive for the first down at the 45 yd line and he moves the chains enough the first down lones on the play call there by coach Horner fak the hand off there on that outside Zone to this side Mason vaguely able to make a great read get up field first and 10 for the Eagles doubles this time ball still on the right hash one

030running back to the right side of Mason who's standing about six yards deep in the quarterback position it's going to be a pass once again he's looking to the left side it's going to be caught by Lucas reibling gains maybe two and it'll be second eight just a quick little Arrow Route out of Lucas by still positive yardage there second and we'll say eight now going to go trips to the right on that wide side of the field ball on the left hash only two Defenders really over on that side of the field one corner standing about six yards off it's going to be a roll out to the right side there's Denny he's going to make the sure-handed catch he's going to make a couple guys missed he's going to gain 10 first and

03110 for the Eagles pass complete for first down that's pretty much his his go-to route right there on that roll out by Mason vagley Sam Danny just getting to that sideline little eight nyd sideline hitch there able to make a guy Miss get up field gaining about three or four extra yards pick up the first good drive here starting off by The Eagles Eagles are going to have a pistol back now standing behind vaguely linebackers creeping up once again going to be a handoff and nothing really going at all loss of one Logan Hicks kept his feet moving and stayed up but his forward progress was stopped no hole whatsoever for him to run into it seemed like that snap took a while to get back there too I feel like that's been a a

032theme this year though too we clap our hands and it's a half second before the ball Ball's getting snapped yeah and you have your lineman all the way in the back field that's part of the reason why we're uh scooting back all the time on that offensive line going to be sniffer back right running back left there's showing Blitz out of the right side he pulls back it's going to be a screen vaguely is trying to run around he's about 20 yards deep now throws it into the ground going to be intentional grounding at the 41 quarterback chased so it was a good drive starting with the intentional grounding it'll be a loss of down loss of from the 44 to the 41 to the other side so that's yards brings up a long intenal

033ground third down on the offense it's a 5yd PTY for the spot of foul lost down third down it's a 5y penalty on top of the spot of the foul too all right so that's going to be uh even longer then Ball's going to be at the 36 we got to get to the what 34 we got to get to the other 34 that's that's just I'll come back with it after this drive but man trips left Bunch going to be cover two out of the defense playing two safeties Corners even playing as a saf as well bagley's got running back to his right side is jce Nelson it's going to be a vertical to the right side he's got rainwater rainwater reaches up catches it first and 10 for the Eagles oh my goodness

034Dalton rainwater High pointed it makes the reception first and 10 Eagles get it down to the 26 yd line now from the spot of the ball the ball landed where we had to get the first down down there so great job by Mason to know where he's got to get the ball to R rainwater had to stop a little bit and kind of wait for the ball but like you said High pointed it good enough for Eagles first down wow going to be first and 10 doubles no there's going to be a tight end to the right side we're going to hand the ball off it's going to be Hicks to the right side nothing going tries to get up the middle and then bent it to the outside not sure why Logan comes off

035Jas Nelson comes on and that's something we've seen a lot from Logan this year not really known for playing running back last year but known as one of our bigger running backs so got to get him more going up field not trying to bounce it outside he doesn't have the speed that Jace has really and Jace can bend it to the outside and get away with it so second and 11 after the loss of one under 10 seconds on the play clock Eagles are just now getting onto the field trips to the left side running back left ball still on that right hash Figley takes a snap fakes the hand off there's three guys in the back field it's a screen it's caught by ring he's got the right side going to get tossed down

036after a gain of eight brings up a third and three but a pretty good run and pretty good play there for the Eagles yeah that was perfect execution there on that uh that screen we haven't seen it a lot this season but coach Horner's had that in his Playbook since you were even in Middle School probably so that was the Brandon prior specialty there that's what made him all state well one of the things that made him all state third and three here see what coach Horner wants to dial up going to have doubles to the left sniffer back right jerseys got everybody up in the box right now Eagles tried for the hard count 7 seconds on the play clock they're going to get it off it's going to be a run play with

037Nelson he gets to the 15 and oh no we got to the 16 that's all right we needed the we needed the oh man I don't know about that spot look like going to stay on the offense going to stay on the field here here comes a hard count if I have I'd run the same play Jersey's got seven guys I think in the Box we're going to run the same play and it's going to be enough for a first down good job there by Jace getting enough first and 10 Eagles inside the 15 yd line I thought he had it on that third down I don't know where they were spotting that ball but may maybe his knee was down onun the same play like you said had a seven or eight guys in

038the Box able to get it back to Nelson on the same same play and pick up the first down not first and goal yet ball at the 13 yd line Denny goes off reibling comes on 6:30 here in the first quarter yet Eagles having a pretty good drive sniffer back right two running backs on the back field with v he's going to hand the ball off it's going to be J Jace to the right side makes two men Miss first down runs through another first and goal from the two great run by Jace had dece backfield there simple hand off to Nelson again but this time on the outside Zone had lead blocker out there couldn't I think it was Hicks on that right side as that other running back great job getting up field

039making blocks Lin's guy got to change it to first down over there still says [Applause] fourth little confused oh now they're seeing it first and goal running back right sniffer back right doubles to the left side ball still on that right hash it's going to be a handoff to Jace he Dives for the End Zone touchdown [Music] Eagles good effort there by Jace looked like he got tripped up about the two and he just launched for the end zone cross the goal line touchdown Eagles we saw the same thing last week Alex first drive go down march down the field and score touchdown on your first drive of the game on a took every bit of six minutes off the clock 6 minutes and 20 seconds for the Eagles going 68 yards I believe thanks

040to the prayer from vaguely to rainwater on that sideline over there Keegan Thompson to do the kick in good snap good hold kick is up and it goes in between the uprights that'll take our score on that mny Maguire group scoreboard Columbia 7 jersey zero on a fantastic drive on the Eagles offense like you said takes a prayer sometimes but we got it and it was answered we would like to thank George Weber Chevrolet for donating $100 for the touchdowns this year as well so thank you to Weber Chevrolet and thank you to Mandy McGuire for bringing our scoreboard checks we're going to run to a commercial I'm hopefully going to kill this spider that's right behind the computer that is absolutely massive and we'll be back with the Eagles defense right after [Music] this

041[Music] welcome back ladies and gentlemen into week nine football where the Eagles lead this one 7 nothing after a great drive out of the offense Keegan Thompson set to kick it off and he sends it deep where it will be recovered at the N9 yd line coming right at us over here looks to be number 20 he's got the right sideline he's got a lot of room ahead of him and he gets absolutely smoked at the 50 out of Keegan Thompson but a good return there for Jersey place is rocking all of a [Music] sudden it's like wle when we had the speaker right above us this one's not too bad though they're right above us but at least they're up a little ways that's never good having field position start of Midfield so we'll

042see if our uh defense can lock in right here early who are we going to be watching here number four is a quarterback and 22 as the running back number 41 is a fullback and is an absolute unit Panthers are going to go under Center here eye formation doubles to the left side there it's going to turn around hand the ball off to number 22 runs over jacksson but that's all right there's another four or five eagles there to help make the tackle I believe it was led by by Denny and vaguely Pi up I understand why that kid's got a lot of yards it's going to take more than one guy to bring him down yeah that was just simple ISO play I was looking for number 41 on the roster that fullback but

043he's not on here looks every bit of I'd say six foot every bet a 260 yeah leading the way for that running back he's still going to be to the left side of the quarterback now who nope no he's going to be to the right they're going to be about four yards deep in shotgun pistol back is going to be number 22 doubles of the right side that's a long play to take from developing and it's only been gain of two on the carry up like the quarterback was standing there for a second or two before running back got to him could had a linebacker come and take that hand off there third and five now only gain of about two ball on the 45 after that great return for Jerseyville after the Eagles went

044up 7 nothing under 430 here in the first quarter quarterback under center it's going to be eye formation once again they're going to turn around hand the ball off to number 22 it's going to be Hicks making the tackle along with vagle and Thompson good job there by the Eagles making their assignments and taking on the running back right away Hudson Bryan even though he got blown up on that play coming off that left side D end had two kickout guys coming his way and was able to get a good hit on him good enough for linebackers to flow in bring up a fourth and short offense is going to stay on the field going to have that fullback as running back now fourth and three running back to the right side doubles I thought

045that was a false start everyone was moving before they're not going to call it it's going to be a quick little hitch route two number 20 going to be a gain of six first and 10 for the Panthers now just hitches across the board only three or four yards down field Lineback and Corners were playing I'd say six yards off the ball good enough for a first down clock still ticking under 320 now in this first quarter penalty flaged thrown behind the quarterback substitution on theen broke the huddle with 12 guyss on the field I love that announcement from the official let's hope he turns it off though can Blow That Whistle and blow our eardrums out he didn't turn it off no shot there is no shot you just called that I had a

046feeling it wasn't turned off I can't believe you just called that that is awesome I'm sure the People Back Home heard that one too gosh double same formation three down lineman for the Eagles four line linebackers looks like we're playing cover two it's going to be a handoff I believe that's number 41 and it is gain of [Music] three down he's only going to give two yards a Panthers second and 13 for the Panthers oh man that might have been the funniest thing of the Season better than music to our ears last week yeah that was that was funny but you called that it was really a later two running backs in the back field quarterback fumbles a snap a little bit able to roll out to his right side going to take a shot

047down field great play by Sam Denny wide receiver had Sam Denny be third down at 13 and he came in with his right hand able to knock it down great play there by the senior and he was playing safety on that other side of the field I think it was manto man there just laid out there and his guy ran look like a drag route to this sideline able to lay out and make a great play on the ball third and 13 now third and 13 Payton Andrews playing manto man over here with number 11 who goes the motion they're going to hand the ball off to him and he almost gets brought down in the back field it's going to be a gain of six Hudson was there just ran right underneath of them

048but still fourth and a long yard seven yards call it fourth and eight like I said in the pre pregame show having Hudson brght on that edge almost had a great play there on third down would have been fourth and long but fourth and eight now offense still on the field 140 now in this first quarter we're going to have a Timeout on the field I believe they were trying to go with a hard count therey and the Eagles didn't jump interesting setup on that one there number 11 if you can look up his stats real quick we'll see how much they target him it was pton Andrews was going to be over here with Logan Hicks so it looked like they were going to have one guy over the top and one guy underneath

049anything on their stats nothing no 11 on no 11 on we would like to thank all of our volunteers that come out and make this all possible uh first ones we're going to thank those is going to be the ones that do the broadcast in here with us unfortunately there's not enough room here for Josh tonight and I took him for comeing every week he's done a great job running the computers on road games and he runs the cameras whenever we're at home so thank you to Josh for doing that volunteering his time along with Mr Nickerson doing all the social media for the district but also all the production when we are at our home game so thank you to Mr ni Nickerson and Josh rushing for helping bring kchs to you Devil's are

050the right side sniffer back right running back right quarterbacks looking to the right he's going to throw it to number 22 who's hit instantly by Logan Hicks gain of absolutely nothing turnover on down for the Eagles defense and I think that was just simple manto man two simple roll out with Jerseyville quarterback looks like Hicks was just locked on to the running back out of the back field and that's what the quarterback wanted to do there great job by Hicks to form tackle out in open field great Play All Around by Hicks there break on the ball everything so the Eagles offense is going to take over 131 left on the game clock here in the first quarter had a great drive to start the game they're going to start at their own 40 ball

051on the left hash they're still moving from right to left sniffer back to the right side is Andrews two running backs they're going to hand the ball off to it's going to be Jace who's going to try to get to the original line of scrimmage but not able to as number nine was there and I can hear coach Horner yell in from here and I'm believing that he is talking to Payton is Payton still walking over to the sideline and I think we're setting up for a big Mason vagle pull here coach hor really loving these outside zones right now and at some point you're going to see Mason vagley pull and I'm saying he's going to have a big gain on one of them trips to the left side going to be two far

052out receivers are on top of each other at the hash running back to the right side faking a blitz they pull back it's going to be Slants across the middle there's got to be a little contact in the middle think the ball was going to be uncatchable though that's why no penalty flag was thrown I believe intended for built him in on a little slant route yeah third and 12 now for the Eagles 45 seconds in the first quarter no trips left here going to line up quick Jason Nelson the running back to the right now was just the choice route out of Jason Nelson out of the back field right when he was catching it kind of stumbled I think we can just take this to the quarter I think coach Kendall's trying to

053get the attention and he does and it looks like that's what the Eagles are going to do so a great drive for the offense on the first drive and a loss of four on Drive number two as we are under 54 seconds here in the first quarter so that'll do it after one Columbia leads at 7 nothing we're going to run to a break and we will be back with second quarter action from Jared right after [Music] this [Music] n [Music] welcome back ladies and gentlemen to second quarter action here in Jerseyville Jared's got the call here for the second quarter as Eagles are getting ready to punt on Fourth and 13 like vaguely back there to do the punning I think at at one point this season Alex he had more puning than than

054yards 100% going to have a great punt good bounce there wasn't really a lot of Hang Time kind of a l Drive goes out at the 25 going to be [Music] about 40 yard punt almost that ball totally went out about the 23 yard line by the way it did it made a hard R special thanks the 25 I feel like every time we've seen Mason kick left or right this year too it's always going out of bounds on this sideline almost every single time but good flip of field there Jerseyville offense back out on the field have doubles to the right looks like doubles to the left as well ball on the left hash he going to take the snap hand it off to 22 up the middle four or five white hats there

055on the tackle going to be a gain of about three maybe four second and seven we'll call it Brandon Jackson did a great job there guard was pulling and tried to come up towards him and Brandon just Sid stepped him there and was able to get in there with the tackle look like we're going to go doubles to the right with a tight end to the right full back right behind the quarterback and hand it off to running back again great form Tackle by Sam Denny be a gain of only two maybe one down Danny coming up from that safety position dropping his shoulder great hit right at the hips bring him down third and five hayen hero wasn't even in his stance there he was on his knees when the ball was hiked he

056was pointing at something ball on the left hash still third and five doubles formation running back standing to the right of the quarterback he's going to take the snap drop back the pass he's looking downfield doesn't see anyone open going to take off running up the middle of the field has to slide be two or three yards short of the first down got a punt gain of one I think you have to punt it here if you don't get it there you're basically giving the Columbia Eagles the ball inside the 35 are going to send out the punt team rebling will go back and retrieve it I think we are going to be helping Payton over whatever single receiver side he has Logan Hicks has been going out there as well so I think Logan's

057there to relieve a little pressure and help out there on the wide side of the field typically good snap it's going to be blocked it's going to be picked up by Hudson Bryant and he's going to just fall on it right at the 15 yd line I think that was Hudson that got in the back field and blocked it able to fall on it as well col and great speed off that that edge as I've been saying all night long no we're only in the second quarter but great job there by Hudson Bryant we've seen him two or three times already tonight on the defensive side of the ball getting that back field able to we're going Tempo here offense already out on the ball I think we're going trick play here yep watch out

058for number 11 tight end on the right side right here going to send the guy in motion that's going to be Jason Nelson he's going to go in motion to the right side he's going to fake it to him Sam Denny right wide open catches it out the five that is touchdown Sam Denny looked like that was 11 rebling line up at tight end but I got my wish I got my Denny touchdown touchdown masing vagle to Sam Denny there kind of a short ball Denny had to wait on it around the six six yd line able to catch it and walk into the end zone to make that Manny muire group scoreboard 13- nothing Keegan Thompson on for the extra point going to be a high snap whistle before the snap going to be

059a false start looks like on the Eagles F start under kicking team number one 5yd penalty have an untime down scoot him back reattempt this Pat you call it right away you called Circus too we both kind of knew what was coming we saw jayon motion too we saw that I think in week two at water with rebling and that was was successful as well second attempt for this Pat good snap good hold it's a wobbler and it's no good going to push it left score is going to to stay at 130 no SC 944 left in this first half like you said you wanted that Sam Denny touchdown and it was rbbl there earlier in the year so it was nice to uh nice to get your wish there out of the way and

060your first drive your first touch or second time calling it second touchdown so yeah look at me you should just do this for from now on nope I thought it was going to be a lot chillier than it is right now but no Breeze yeah no Breeze at all beautiful night here in Jerseyville parking lot is full and I like our setup that we got we're right outside the Press Box got our own little setup here nice little walking area Eagles up 13 nothing in this one going to be kicking off from left to right now in this second quarter on that pump block great job by the entire line I mean there was about four guys that could have got that block so great job by the Eagles getting back there Keegan Thompson on

061to do the kicking he's going to boot this one downfield going to be caught around the 15 yd line Looks like number 11's going to go up the middle try to bounce it out to the left nowhere to go gets back up to the 25 on the return tackled with a tackle first and 10 Panthers at the 25 yd line and haven't seen much from this Jerseyville offense yet Hudson Bryan on that play went after the lead blocker and cleared the way for the rest of the guys to come make a tackle he took that guy on one-on-one and put him on his [Music] butt hson Bryant the junor so big things coming for him next year hopefully had a good last three four weeks on that defensive end see if he can get in

062the back field again he's going to hand it off to the right it's going to be Keegan Thompson in on the tackle look like Bryant in there again the carry picks up three pick up three yards second and seven spot it about middle of the field towards the left hash Keegan did a great job his guard pulled and he just did a great job coming in the back field following him took him right to the football Jersey going in a huddle this time 13 nothing this might be our second two-score lead All Season I'd say only other one being East altonwood River going to hand it off to the running back once again number 22 going to make one guy Miss cut it back towards the middle of the field going to gain about 30

063y going to be third three Denny going for the strip there as the running back was going down to the ground tried getting his hand in there it's kind of died down on the sideline over here Jerseyville looking for some momentum down 13 nothing early here going to have doubles running back on the right quarterback looking to the sidelines still getting a call from his coach 10 seconds on the play clock they're going to shift they're going to send 22 in motion he's going to line up as a receiver quarterback drops back to pass no one really open shifts to the left side going to throw it in the middle of the field and it's caught by number 10 right at Midfield going to be three eagles there to make a tackle great patience there

064by quarterback number four stay in the pocket kind of Bounce out of the pocket a little bit and then find himself in there again and fire the ball down field where number 10 was running simple dig route Keegan was about a step behind he got his hands on the quarterback just a step late there for the sack kept the drive going trips right sniffer back on the left looks like a tight end left too so different formation here quarterback's going to fake a hand off to a wide receiver going to drop back the pass going to tell a guy to go down try to get him open downfield but quarterback scrambles for about 13 pick up a first down moving those chains again good coverage out of the Eagles there deep but that's what happens

065when everyone runs a vert pretty much had couple post I think in there too but clears everybody out yeah and then when the quarterback tells you to run farther and you you're that defensive guy you see that going to flip the field here going to go empty gonna have trips to the left side doubles to that right going to send 22 in motion they're just going to hand it off to him simple Jacksonville gonna cut it up field great cut by 22 going to gain about eight he still had this sideline had a lot of room to get to the sideline but great job to put his left foot in the ground get up field Jerseyville putting together a great Drive looks like belman going to come out hobbled rebling going to come on to

066replace him as that other Corner last two plays getting a little I think there are some words being exchanged between the guys based on officials coming in in a hurry and how guys are reacting we'll see how that goes I have formation now a lot of different formations for this Columbia defense so far this week start penalty flag [Music] thrown snap I don't understand how it's that hard I don't understand how you you don't snap it when the qu back says hiker claps his hands like what are you waiting for I think sometimes in your mind especially if you're a lineman you got to get you got to get to your spot quicker if you know that that guy on the other side's a little faster than you so you try to get a little

067little Head Start we've seen it all season long from the Kansas City Chief's right tackle gosh darn he's gotten a little better the last four or five weeks but man those first three weeks it was every every play I formation here going to fake the hand off the 22 and herlick is in the back field almost sacks him quarterback's going to escape that just Chuck it all the way across field and it's going to be caught for a first down ball was in the air for 10 centuries Brandon Jackson was playing looked like hook to curl thereon first kind of got stuck in a dive there cuz the ball was still in the air while he Dove and wide receiver has the ball just fall fall in his arms there we've seen that a couple

068times this year too quarterbacks roll on the one side just chucking it up in the air all the way across the field quarterback was just falling away from the field at the 50 and the catch was made at the 26 hash opposite hash mark on the run too yeah going to hand it off the 22 to the right side there's herli again getting tally on the carry another lineman laying on top of him second down almost four yards there and 22 what we said in that pregame we've called his number a lot tonight they're riding on him right now 540 in the first half here if you look at this this formation here they got simple formation with a tight end left and then they have two sniffer backs standing right next to each other

069just going to hand it off to 22 and he's going to follow those two sniffer backs to that left side going to power through two or three guys they L able to make a tackle there is a flag thrown either a hold or a face mask usually in that area Eagles clapping looked like they're going to call it a hole no block in the back 10 yenal from the spot I was 0 for two on that one still second down is that Broadway that might be Jim Broadway down there I think it is second down and 15 for thether good little uh hopefully good omen there for the Eagles when drives are going hopefully that's a drive killer there that penalty for the blocking the back out of 61 alignment I guess he just got

070downfield a little too far and tried doing something too much it's going be trips right Bunch ball on the left hash and their bunches all the way on the right hash going to run a simple now route out to one of those wide receivers out there going to make vaguely Miss get back to the original line of scrimmage stays in bounds clock will run third and 10 450 left now in this first half great job by Mason there running up running the alleys and making that play I mean he's starting about 10 yards deep and to get in the back field right away and that quick did a great job of recognizing that and getting up there and that's another thing that we've said all year when we have when we run that trips Bunch

071that's the play that we've been I know that's the play we've been trying to get coach horer to run all year but he's thinking other things big third down and 10 here double tight end set with two wide receivers going to roll out to the left pressure by Hudson Bryant from that backside fumble looks like he's going to have another fumble [Music] recovery Hudson Bryan having himself a night Force fumble and a fumble recovery on the same play there for Hudson and then a block Punt and a fumble recovery what a night for number 21 the junior Columbia Eagle ball now first and 10 415 you taking a shot I think you do you're up 13 defense is playing well so I mean we say take a shot he'll run a draw up the middle

072now or something Eagles going to come out simple doubles looks like Nelson is the running back to vag's right he's going to take the snap going to fake the hand off and here what I here's what I was talking about Alex he's going to have one of these big runs going to gain 12 oh and then he fumbles it gain 15 picked up by Jerseyville and made two or three guys miss on that vaguely fighting for extra yards I think we saw that last week as well trying that swim move where he brings the ball up and that one got punched outan Jerseyville gets the ball right back right at the 35 and we've talked about that all year like you said that little swim move that he does doesn't really uh take care of

073the football too much there and always makes you nervous so what could have been a great first half there going to flip the field now Jersey's going to have empty trips to the right side they're just going to run a slant across the middle gain a seven Jackson brings him down after the catch on the catch and that's the play we've been setting up all night like I said all those outside zones and it was there that hole was gain a 20 yard yeah and he was still going fighting for extra yards so gain of six there for Jerseyville on that first down 335 left in the first half Eagles up 13-0 empty formation now trips to the left side doubles to the right looks like madx Stefan coming on a blitz quarterback's going to

074roll out to the left he's going to try to flip it Patrick Mahomes style and Keegan Thompson there with an interception so three plays three turnovers and this game is getting weird welcome to week n football yeah for real no wonder neither of these teams are going to the playoffs this season I don't know what the quarterback was seeing there but uh he didn't see Keegan Thompson who said thank you very much and picked it off and he almost fumbled whenever the receiver made the tackle he tried punching it out from behind so let break the curse take a knee right here on first down yeah 317 when the Eagles take over now at the Jersey 34 all right coming out and doubles again ball on this right hash see if coach horer wants to

075take another shot here hope he wants to run the ball and try to get the half he's going to hand it off to Nelson from right to left he's going to have a little space get all the way to that sideline going to bounce out of bounds right before the first down marker they might end up giving it to him it looks like they are great speed there by Jason Elon and that's what we expected to see out of Jace all year and I guess he just hasn't had the time to get out there yeah but I mean from the right hash running 10 yards to get the first down 11 officially as he got to the uh 24 yd line but it's a heck of a run right there out of the the young

076junor I believe or is he a sophomore this year I think he's a sophomore he's a sophomore this year yep sophomore going to send rebling in motion now oh my going vaguely did a whole spin there and then handed the ball off the HCK still going to gain four there maybe a new addition there by coach this week little slow to get get up after that one tries to walk it off now I got to fall to his knees Eagles lead this one 13-0 251 left in this first half we're going to take a break we'll be right back at you with the end of this first half right after this [Music] I [Music] welcome back to week nine action where the Eagles lead this one 13- nothing over the Jersey Panthers Joe Kish was

077the injured eagle and was made able to get off the field on his own power second and seven for the Eagles now going to put J Nelson has that sniffer back haven't seen that all season we're going to have doubles to the right you got to call a timeout that Columbia is going to have to call timeout maybe not like in the formation the defense was in up against the offense another crew that we have to thank is our Chang gang crew uh can't do it without them every week and Coach Warner we've talked about it before he doesn't even know who's over there he just knows that he's going to have four guys over there so uh guys like Alfie Kenny Matthews bre ster uh Scott STM they're all over there every week and

078um nobody or Brett Stephan hour I'm sorry said STM Brett stepanow is over there so thank you to those guys making it happen and Coach Warner has always said Thank you to them as well so without those volunteers things would be a little bit more difficult and they know what they're doing over there that's the cool part too you don't have to worry about moving too soon or they've been doing it long enough Eagles are going to have the same formation second and seven here doubles to the right doubles to the left I think there's a tight end to the left over there too if I'm not mistaken vley is going to get the snap drop back to pass he's going to take a shot to the endzone he's got rainwater looks like it's going

079to be [Applause] intercepted on interception so the last five plays you've had four turnovers first and for the Panthers got a winning ticket and with that it's going to be a Touchback as a play happen in the end zone and I like the chance that you take there with Coach Herer I mean you there's nothing wrong with it otherwise you're going to have a third and seven coming back you just wished that the ball would have been thrown about three yards farther and we know Mason's got a strong enough arm to get it there or get it out a little earlier so rain water doesn't have to wait on it right yeah but nonetheless it's going to be Panther football at the 20 yd line with 241 remaining in the first half big drive here

080for Jerseyville they get ball at half so if they can go down and score they do get ball at half quarterback's going to take the snap drop back the pass just a little screen pass and it's picked off another turnover number 73 looked like Lincoln Corbin with the interception and I don't know what is going on right now this might be one of the craziest games I've watch big boy getting his hands on the football and the team's letting him know it too over there they're all fired up around him we've seen that screen pass quarterback drops back and he the lineman let all the lineman go defensive lineman go right past him Lincoln corbman just standing there waiting for the ball so another turnover sets up Red Zone for the Eagles just like that

081234 left now if you're coach hor run a little clock and try to get in the end zone and now you got a penalty FL flag so after first quarter with great flow looking like it's going to be a great clean game you have all this going on now a false start on the Eagles pushing back five now you have first and 15 you're going to have to call this I have a Fathead here I believe of Aiden Taylor the senior right in front of me so uh not seeing around it it's not a big head until it's a fat head that might be the most Wild three minutes that we've ever done though I'm not even lying that's got to be a record five turnovers in six plays what Deuce backfield for the Eagles

082sniffer back going to hand it off just outside Zone again to Jason Nelson going to show great speed another flag thrown in that back field most likely a hold their Block in the back on number one pton andw carry tackled by Gage Walker he was that lead blocker up in that sniffer back position and sometimes it's hard to get out there and make that block on that outside Zone you you got to almost get outside of him while he's already outside of youl first pton Andrew is not able to get all the way outside grabbed his jersey a little bit going to push him back a little more the typical first down in 20 something started at the 17 now we're at the 33 32 go and do that math 25 first and 25 we've

083got a Winer winner on the 5050 doubles formation going to have sniffer back to the left bringing Blitz here two linebackers blitzing they're going to get it out quick to jce Nelson over on that left side vaguely able to sense that pressure it's a good little play there by Mason like you said said he senses it and gets it out doesn't take a sack doesn't have a holding penalty nothing really going keeps the clock moving too that's another thing all year he's had all this pressure he's has no time to really stand in there um and throw the ball down field but throwing those quick little out routes like that I mean look you gain six yards there keep this drive alive if you don't get anything on that first down you're looking to Chuck

084Chuck the ball down field on these next two or three plays and now Eagles going to come out third or second down trips to the right side vaguely going to run a little screen pass again over here to rebling he's got a little bit of space going to get up field make a couple guy Miss he's going to get inside the 10 now down to the five going to pick up the first down great job by rebling after the catch getting up field getting vertical getting inside the 5 yd line great job there by the offensive lineman there was three blitzing linebackers there had one coming from up top down below and through the middle so did a great great job letting all those guys go and really set up well for that play good

085play call there for Coach Horner clock still ticking one minute now left in this first half we have two timeouts yep going to have jce Nelson right behind vagley likely going to be a handoff and that's what it is right up the middle Nelson going to lower his head going to maybe gain two Nelson on a carry thought he got down to the five on that previous play he was down at the seven now we're at the 5 yd line going to be a timeout for Columbia our second one of the half going to be second and goal from the five so you got 43 seconds to get into the end zone here one timeout left so you're going to take at least two shots I think you're going to go to the end zone

086here on both of them I don't think you need to really worry about wasting too much time well I think if you're coach Warner too over there if you run you can still run the ball here only on second down though um but you got to get back on the ball and maybe have a second play on that third down if you don't score and then if in that sense if you don't score on that third down that's whenever if it's incomplete or if you're tackled in bounds you can use that timeout and do whatever you want to do on fourth down so I'd have two plays drawn up here for Coach Herer on second and third down this would be nice where if you could tell Mason you let everyone else go out to

087the field you tell everyone hey we're going to run play a let them go and with Mason and say okay after a we're running B don't even let the guys look at me you got the play call on that one and set them up I mean it's 5 yards you got you got plays in your playbook they can get five yards I hope come out and doubles ball is on this right hash you got that left side of the field with a lot of room over there looks like buam in and rainwater at the top of the screen looks like they're just going to run a simple handoff run it again to jce Nelson under 40 seconds now Nelson on the carry gets to the four clock is going to tick you need to get

088on the ball Columbia just going to third down and go burn that final timeout now with 32 seconds left now are you throwing this one you got to tell Mason do not take a sack is you have you have to throw this now especially on third down fin timeout of the first half got the ball at the three yard line got lucky that they blew a quick whistle there the ball did come popping out there this almost goes back to uh I don't know if you watched that Giants game the other night whenever Tyrod Taylor was playing quarterback um for Daniel Jones but they had the ball inside the five um and with like 12 seconds left and they decided to run the ball and they had no timeouts and clock just ran out so

089I mean here you're almost in that same exact situation to where if you run the ball your guys got to know you got to get on the ball and run a play on fourth down and try to score before that clock Runs Out Jerseyville out already out on the field Columbia still in the Huddle on that sideline do you have enough room here to to run a roll out one of our roll out plays I mean there used to be four different options out of that play I don't know what he has now but only having a little bit of room and a lot of Defenders there that might be something that you think about a roll out he's better rolling out to to his right side and he's you're going into the boundary here

090so it'd be hard to roll out to that left side have to throw across the body we'll see what coach Horner wants to do here on this third down simple doubles formation going to get the snap Mason's going to keep it going to get stuffed right at the 5 yd line so this Co I'm looking at coach hor now and he's telling everybody to get on the ball but don't be hurried 20 seconds still got enough time looks like ref it's going to stop the clock official put the ball down at about the nine yd line it's actually going to go up to the six so that's almost an extra time out there for the Eagles still got plenty of time you're still 17 seconds now and everybody at the line fourth down here vaguely

091going to take the snap great rout by Jackson belam and that's touchdown Eagles what a route by Jackson ran a simple go for two whip route fake the Arrow Route chop your feet get right back inside that linebacker could not guard him on that play great job by Mason great throw and a great route like you said by ban for another Eagles touchdown that Manny Maguire group scoreboard now reads 190 we're going to just kick the extra point here try to make this 20 to nothing here in this first half vaguely on the hold Keegan Thompson on to do the kicking G to be a fake they snap it straight to Keegan Thompson he floats it up in the air and it's batted down and that was definitely a play that that you see when

092you're when you're one and seven Alex you're up 19 nothing and you're just trying to have a little fun with those seniors out there another touchdown for the Eagles to make this 190 that Manny McGuire group scoreboard with only 5.9 or 6 point 6.9 seconds to go here looking pretty good now 19 nothing's how the game ended last year hopefully Eagles are able to add a little bit more and get some more touchdowns in for that George Weber $100 so good first half here out of the Eagles that little two three minute oh my goodness five turnovers and six plays Alex that is that is insane only six seconds left in the first half most likely a squib here by Keegan Thompson nothing big two guys deep to return for Jerseyville looks like number 11

093and can't see that other one simple squib kick going to be recovered by number nine rainwater all the way downfield making a tackle looks like Denny in there as well clock will run out and that will be the end of the first half Eagles great start to this one 190 leading the Jerseyville Panthers on the road here in week nine we will send it to a break real quick and we'll have your halftime show coming up right after [Music] this [Music] he [Music] he [Music] n [Music] it's you [Music] never [Music] he [Music] I [Music] yeah [Music] oh [Music] yeah [Music] yeah [Music] e [Music] welcome in to the Life Community Church halftime show welcome into the Life Community Church halftime show where the Eagles lead this one 190 and Jared we come into this

094game before we talk about the game that we got going on we're going to talk about all conference athletes at Columbia High School led by Boys golf Jimmy vandar Jacob Hall Kyle chud Charlie Steckler all of them had successful seasons and I believe they were on their way to a uh at a a pretty good run in the postseason as well cross country boys Ethan Hogan girls Carly Chambers and L Martin and girls golf Avery Arendale and SA AR Lane gang so those are all the cross or I'm sorry the All Conference honors boys soccer football and volleyball will all come out on nove November 2nd and we got a lot going on now as postseason coming around and we have the uh boys soccer team just won the or uh Regional Championship see how

095that played out yeah they had to go back yeah so Bo Went Out Boys always played at father mcy even have lights and they didn't have lights game got cancelled they had to come back and play again and uh whenever they came back to play again game went into overtime scoreless go into penalty kicks and the Eagles win it there so congratulations to them and volleyball will begin their Regional play here pretty soon I believe they were in freeberg last night I think that was last night did they win that game I don't know they did not sure I think it went to three games not sure who Victorious so boy soccer here they are in the Murphy's Boro sectional so they will be going on Saturday at 1:00 in Murphy's Boro this is kind

096of messed up going to make the two-hour trip to go play water blue Jabo Catholic so that's kind of unfortunate you got to drive two Murphy to play Jabo I believe the Eagles won that game earlier this season uh beating Jabo I think that was a home game for us so hopefully that's going to be the same way this year and I'm going to try to look real quick for the girls volleyball bracket and see what our volleyball team will be doing in the near future so Jared let's talk a little bit about this game while I'm looking here uh what a half by The Eagles yeah overall that first quarter had a great flow to it uh both side both teams had the ball marched down the field and uh Jerseyville not able to

097get in the end zone yet but put together a couple good drives just had a couple penalties and uh just just bad plays overall that uh they would have to go forward on Fourth and long or just punt the ball away um and on our offensive side of the ball um I'm really liking what I'm seeing from the offensive line um and Coach horer play calling has been really nice tonight uh getting a lot of different guys in action seeing Sam Denny uh hauling his first touchdown of the season um Jason Nelson looking great um and then that defensive line uh with Hudson Bryant on that outside he's been he's been the the MVP of the game so far block punt uh fumble recover two fumble recoveries now um so overall uh just a great

098job on this on this last game of the year where eagles are giving it their all uh I know we're not going to make it in the playoffs this season but give it their all on this last uh last final game before we go on that point volleyball is in 2A this year they will be playing on Tuesday night at Nashville they'll be playing the winner of Nashville in Sparta and they will likely be playing on Thursday for the Regional Championship and it'll likely be against mod day so doesn't get any easier there for the volleyball team with modern day so yeah Jared like you're saying there on a half that you know we've been saying all year we're 1 in seven you and I been talking but we don't feel like a one in

099seven team we've had a lot of opportunities slip away we've had a lot of you know you go from second and one on a very important drive to Third and 19 because of a bad snap or penalty or something happens and really we didn't let any of that happen tonight other than the uh the pat that we got blocked in the little thre minute incident we had down here inside the 30 and 20 I don't know I don't know what the heck was going on with both teams during that little three minute stin there but if nobody was listening we had five turnovers in six plays Jerseyville had a fumble and we gave it right back to it to them with a fumble and then Jerseyville through an interception then we threw an interception and

100then they ended up uh throwing another interception so five turnovers and six plays something I've never seen before um but 145 left here you're going to add the 3 minutes after that 145 is up of this halftime but overall been a good good overall game from the Eagles uh offense and defensive side of the ball another group of volunteers that we have to say thank you to is the guys up in the Press Box there's about five or six of them up there every week Patrick hles B Mike olenberger Matt vagley Kyle rainbolt Ryan Hicks uh I believe that is everyone I can't think anyone else off the top of my head sorry if I forgot you and uh then you go over to the filmers that the Eagles have week in and week out

101and that is led by Mr Chris wetzell and Mr TJ W are doing the the filming for us this year Mr w is about 20 ft higher than we are he's way up on the top tonight he had to come down he said I was feeling a woozy up there I think he's by himself I don't think there's anybody else yeah I think the Jerseyville coaches are just a floor above us and he's up on the roof so he's uh hope he's not afraid of heights up there and then you got TJ he sits down in the end zone typically with the little handheld down there so all the guys that make this possible we appreciate it we thank you for continuing to sport support the Eagles year in and year out 30 seconds now

102and then the three minutes will be added on on this halftime here sponsored by Life Community Church so Jared this second half Eagles will be kicking off think we got an opportunity to keep the goose egg up I think so our defensive line like I said with Hudson Bryant showing a lot of speed off that edge it's it's a lot of trouble for uh for offensive lines um when you know that a guy is quicker he's going to get in that back field um and create a lot of Havoc um with with your blocking scheme going on it opens up a lot of open spaces for uh guys like Sam Denny and Mason to Begley even guys like Keegan Thompson to slide in and make make great plays on the ball um just getting white

103hats to the football and that's what we've seen all night um every tackle on the defensive side of the ball there's been four or five white hats there so uh let's keep that up um and keep locking down number 22 he's probably getting only two three yards a carry when they go to him but um on big third down and fourth Downs our defensive line has been able to stand up tall um and get those stops and get the ball back in our offense's hands and that's why we're up 19-0 in this one coach Horner's out right now in the middle of the group talking with the wide receivers and quarterback Mason vagley so it'll be interesting to see what little adjustment right there the Eagles are always making adjustments I feel like uh coach

104Horner is always out there trying to think of something new and Coach Germaine he might be a defensive coach but he's pretty smart when it comes to offensive side of the football as well we are now under 3 minutes I believe they got it started 2 minutes to go left of stretching here in week nine see if Jared can get some scores from around the area we'll see if we can get that waterl freeberg score uh freeberg is already in waterl has to win to get in and then they're going to need a little luck I don't know if they'll be able to get enough luck to get in but we'll see if they're able to do that breeze Central is trying to pad their stats at Heron trying to win and get a little

105bit better seating roxan should go 9 and0 this year like we expected so we'll see what we're able to find out here on the Life Community Church halftime show as always let us know where you're listening from we haven't had anybody text in yet tonight so let us know shoot us a text comment on the page post and uh we'll see if we can get you a shout out Central leads Haren 2117 less than a minute and the half see Triad leetes Collinsville 20 to7 bber 3 waterl zero at the half wow barn burner there so if waterl wins it makes them eligible they're going to need a lot of help with the playoff points freeberg they're six and two correct so they're in no matter what both teams finishing up there jumping jacks coming

106together here Eagles will be kicking off from left to right which is going to be pretty big because if we do need to use the scoreboard at the end of the game at least we get to face it and know which way we're going we're going to run to one more break and when we come back we will bring you the third quarter right here on [Music] kchs [Music] he little Mis intro here on third Downs huh welcome back into kchs where the Eagles are getting ready to kick off with Keegan Thompson taking his steps back waiting on the game clock to get set white hat blows a whistle we're ready to go for third quarter action here is Keegan tease it up and kicks it off he's going to send it deep it's going

107to be returnable at about the 12 yd line they're going to go to the right side with the return man tries to cut back up the middle Cooper Wes there Along With Sam Denny to bring him down at the 33 yard line took a while for that play to take take hold so first and 10 here for Jerseyville as we were talking about in that halftime show number 22 who's got most of their yardage All Season looking pretty good tonight averaging about two or three yards per carry I'd say tonight going to start off in doubles and they're going to start off handed it off to him number 22 he's going to bounce it out to this left side lower his shoulder rebling there to push him out of bounds takes a big hit but

108able to stay on his feet it'll be a gain of about six call it second and four Hudson was there to make a tackle number 71 came out of nowhere they did a great job clearing him out of the way open up that hole going to go eye formation here with two wide receivers up top and they're going to ride with 22 again right up the middle great job by that defensive line maybe a gain of one t on the carry gets across 13 Thompson in on the tackle as well as two Hicks last ones to get up third and two we'll call it third and three great job there by Brandon Jackson lost his footing but was able to hang on just enough then was able to stand up and help make the tackle

109there at the end of the play quarterback going to go under Center again third and short here watch the ball they're going to run it with 22 again right up the middle he's going to have the first down only gain of about six still enough for the first down first down hick on the tackle Lincoln Corbin got there in the back field and strong run out of of 22 and he just kept carrying him across the first down line at the 46 yd line was able to get enough going to be doubles formation now ball still kind of on this left side of the field towards that left hash quarterback's going to hand it to 22 once again going to break two tackles gain of about five great job to get up field there Shake

110two guys off him keep his feet moving and looks like they're just going to ride with 22 this whole first drive already 1030 left now in this third quarter quarterback going to run under center now second and five be Flags thrown all over the field either a legal motion or a false start the St false start 28 on the offense 5 yd penalty still second down I was going to call it on the last play that he was moving a little early but they got him this time so second and nine we'll call it now a long nine I don't get the purpose of going under or going in a huddle and everyone's got quarterback going to go under Center again one W single wide receiver over here to the left two wide receivers up

111top looks like a tight end now to that right side they're going to play action fake hand off the 22 they're going to come to this side to number 11 he makes the catch at the 40 stiff arm Denny at the 20 he's at the 15 105 he's going to walk into the end zone touchdown [Applause] Jersey penalty flag on the play back here at the 37 yd line I think they might be calling a roughing the passer though that was a Crossing rout it looked like we saw it earlier roughing the penalty on the defense roughing the penalty that penal be assessed on the kickoff that's a first another try yeah he had everything jacked up there roughing the penalty regardless it's a touchdown for the Panthers and like I was saying earlier to

112attempt the extra point Denny made a great play on that wide receiver he was manto man with running the crossing route and was able to stick his left arm in there make a good play on the ball pretty much the same thing happened there at a Crossing route now another penalty flag most likely going to be an off sides looks like Jersey both fans happy you're not going to go for two at this point I mean I don't think you do you take the points always always take the points encroachment on your defense half the distance to the goal on time down so they're going to set up for the P once again ball at the looks like one and a half yard line going to have to be a fire call he's running over

113towards the Columbia sideline he's going to have a guy in the back of the end zone and that's going to be uh converted to point conversion there it was a high snap in the holder just decided to get up he is allowed to get up even though his knee's on the ground wanted to run left do a whole Lo leg to the right side throw to the back of the end zone is complete makes it 19 to8 now on that Mandy Maguire group scoreboard as the Panthers get within 11 945 left here in this third quarter we'll stay here with stay here with you as momentum is slowly changing Eagles now will get their first possession but great overall drive there by Jerseyville coming out of half yeah you can't take anything away from him

114right there they did what they had to do I mean it was a quick drive and uh on a play that Denny was right maybe about two steps behind um on that on the long reception there for the touchdown but he at least was in the vicinity got the police officer down here running the Jerseyville School flag let to see if our s SRO will do that next year and with that penalty too you're going to be kicking off from the Eagles 45 yd line you know what I do I'm going onside kick yeah you don't no matter what it's not going to be great field position for the Eagles got to kick it at least 10 yards so he would get to the 35 see what they decide to do here I would still

115kick a deep but last Game of the Year you got nothing to lose have a little fun in this last half yeah I think it's a be a pretty easy option this kid was just getting down and dirty right here on the stairs man and to kick it deep looks like it's going to go over Nelson's head Touchback for Jerseyville and here comes this Columbia offense who has had one of the best put together games this season I will say definitely by the offensive line Columbia has first and 10 at the 20 so Eagles will take over at the 20 select to take the ball in the middle of the field do you get an option on a Touchback I think so yeah going to have three running backs in the back field with vagle

116on this one rainwater the lone wide receiver they just going to run right the middle looks like Hicks and that gets blown up right away nothing really going there had two lead blockers for Hicks but a couple blitzing guys looks like number 41 the blitzing linebacker able to get in that back field and bring him down for a two yd loss 64 340 was coming in the middle of that hole right there and just kind of threw everything off from the start see what the Eagles are going to do now second and 13 after the loss going to have dece backfield now doubles to the right sniffer back right going to run this outside Zone to this side with Nelson he plants his foot early into that Turf and that one's going nowhere loss of

117one on that one third and 13 will call it Trenton Cox On The Tackle with only a minute a minute now off this clock on this drive trying to get a first down here not many plays on third and 13 not the start you wanted on the second half for the Eagles coach her and Coach G both of them thinking you had a good first half and you're going to come out and start like this a little rough here trips to the right vaguely going to roll to the right he's going to take a shot down field rebling doesn't know where the ball is found it about two yards right when he turned his shoulder there the ball was just floating in the air he couldn't really find it number 10 to safety able to

118go up and knock it down was a flag on the field though going to be roughing the passer going to be automatic first for the Eagles hey we'll take it first down I didn't see the roughing the passer did you I was watching the ball I was watching reing we'll take it though great play that's just a simple roll out what we've saw all all year and vaguely didn't really have the best throw there it was kind of a duck that was in the air ball was in the air for a while but safety able to knock it down and maybe it was because he got hit rough from the passer Hicks the running back now going to shift to the left side of vagley he's going to drop back the pass lots of time

119in the pocket he's going to start to run to his left going to cut it up field runs a guy over right at the 40 he's going to gain about six great run there by vagle after having some time in the pocket no one really opened downfield besides a tuck it and run great job there by Mason vagle to pick up six great job there by Logan Hicks as well stepping up Jackson had his hands full with a a blitzing guy coming over the top of him so Hicks was able to come up chip just enough to throw the blitzing backer momentum off doubles formation ball on that left hash now got this right side of the field lot of room to work he's going to fake the hand off the Hicks and vaguely he's

120got nowhere to go going to be a loss of two we'll call it third and five now Ethan caps on the tackle 720 and counting in this third quarter didn't like to see there uh I think that's Ben Simmons our right tackle I mean once he got beat he gave up I mean there was no questions asked he he put his head down and thought Oh I'm if Mason would have got through that Ben would have had no idea trips right now on this big third down going to fake the hand off quick little screen route to rebling he's going to make the catch make two or three guys miss not going to get to the first down maybe even gets back to the line of scrimmage no gain on the play bring up fourth

121down and five team will come out that just made my heart stop holy cow I wasn't ready for that so fourth and five punt team out now Jerseyville return man standing around the 28 yd line backing up toward the 25 vley is going to get the punt and it's going to be another low liner it's going to bounce at the 30 and he's going to pick it up great hit there by look like 21 Jones on the return out the 36 toan pick it up right off the bounce think the average hang time right now is about 84 seconds it's not in the air very long getting great bounces though luckily if we didn't get those bounces it'd be tough so flip the field now Jerseyville ball 61 left in this third quarter Eagles lead

12219 to8 quarterback under Center for this one doubles to the right going to hand it straight up the middle he's going to bounce out to the left he's got a little bit of Rune number 22 is going to pick up about seven yeah and had a big hole up there in the middle I like what he saw on this left side but like you said great tackle out here on this uh on this left side he had a major hole there looked like a little bit of a counter and offens Al line did a good job Walling everyone off and he just he had his pick of where he wanted to go good good open field tackle there by Lucas rling fighting off the stock block and making the tackle and watching this 22 he's

123not really quick out in open field but he lowers his shoulder and he he's not afraid of contact looks like he's going to be the quarterback on this one looks like they're going to run simple Wildcat to the right side pretty much a sweet play forced back inside going to be short of the first I think Brandon Jackson like you said forced that back inside going to be third and a long one or short two or short two yeah we could call it that ball on the right hash here the Columbia fans a little bit over there you said we only had about 19 in like first quarter look at them a lot of them showed up sticking around for this week nine Eagles third and one here going to go I formation quarterback under

124Center almost a false start quarterback sneak looks like he's going to have the first down move the chains on that push I like the clock moving though 450 here and I mean the clock's definitely are friend even though there is still another full quarter but we'll let it keep rolling now even going to be a real tight formation here looking like on First and 10 ball around Midfield looks like around the 47 yd line going to go Deuce formation quick little a route out to this number 10 Again going to gain about seven or eight we call it nine bro's pass complete to Vogal now just a quick little Arrow Route out to the wide receiver just short the and he lined up almost right behind that left tackle quarterback got it out of his

125hands quick no chance he had the seams there that was fast second and one now might see the same play we saw earlier nope going to hand it off the 22 Mo over Keegan Thompson with the first down run going have the first down move the chains again 340 left now in this third quarter Eagles still leading 19 to8 Jerseyville now driving on their second Drive of this second half scoring a close to a 60 yard touchdown right out of right out of of the break doubles to the right sniffer to the right going to be a quick pitch to number 22 stiff arms Hicks gets to the sideline great run there great balance by 22 to fight with Logan Hicks second down and six on the way trying to get a first down but

126only gains about four it'll be second and six now number 22 is listed at 62 210 it's a big boy runs hard like I said he's not the quickest guy out on the field but you see those I can see those Cavs from here going to have two sniffer backs on the left side tight end left wide receiver all the way out to the left quarterback's going to take the snap and he drops it going to pick it back up and just has to scramble try to fight back to the line of scrimmage just gets back to it no gain going to be third and six now clock still on our side 220 now left in this third quarter big play there with him fumbling that snap they had another wall over here on the

127left side starting to get formed up so we'll take that fumble any day of the week little confusion here Columbia sideline trying to get into it over there on this third six going to have doubles formation 22 to the left of the quarterback going to be a penalty flag thrown to the St going to be another false start on the Panthers and that's kind of where they've been all night they get into good second and third down situations and then get themselves right back out of it with a penalty I think everyone of the defensive front seven for the Eagles a was calling that out before they actually threw the penalty flag they were all they saw it right away boy great to see the cheerleaders make the trip up to week nine up to

128Jerseyville now we got third and 12 here big play for the Eagles dece formation quarterback's going to drop back to pass going to fake the Arrow Route he runs a wheel route he's got number 10 rebling is going to have to catch up going to be intercepted intercepted is intercepted what a play by the eagle secondary Lucas rebling able to make a play on the ball and the ball pops up in the air and guess who's there number three Bley like you said that was a a ball that I think Lucas just threw his hand up there hoping it gotten away and he put his hand in the right spot at the right time Mason was there at the right time good play all the way around for the Eagles there and beautiful ball by

129the quarterback too I mean that that could have been a better ball throw and wide receiver tried to go up and get it but just a better Play All Around by the secondary and Lucas rebling and Mason vaguely coming through with that interception ball now inside the five so we got to go 95 yards to score here but what I like about this with 124 in the third quarter you can waste a lot of clock right here if you can say hey let's have let's have the best Drive of the season right here and win this game this would be it right here Eagles just going to run the ball on first down lose four going to lose yeah three or four yards back to the two yd line now Jason n flag tried getting

130out to this right Edge and that'll be half the distance to the goal if that's if that's a hold there well we don't have far to go t and now you got to be careful you cannot be holding in the end zone cuz that is a safety it would still be a two-score game though at least that's the block on the offense that penal is deined block results play I did not hear that at all second down and that's something I think they we saw we got called a lot on them this year I think I feel like only like weeks like one through three one through three maybe four though and we haven't really heard it since so now you have second or no still first down it says over there nope second they

131declined it okay so second down and 13 now from the two yd line vaguely is going to drop back to pass in his own End Zone he's going to throw it downfield to belam and just Chucks it up in the air going to be deflected and incomplete around the 40 yd Line pass knocked away Bruno brings up third down that ball went through the defender hands and actually I think kind of threw off Belt yeah I think it hit him almost in the shoulder pad after hit that Defender I don't know if coach Warner was wanting that there he I looked over at his reaction right away he had his hands up in the air so I don't know if he was thinking something different now you got third and 13 with the clock stopped

132now and if you don't get anything here you're going to be hoping you just get a punt off around Midfield yeah trips to the left here and he fumbles the snap he picks it back up still running in the end zone he's going to get it out the buil and he's got some room over on that eagle sideline he's he's going to turn on the Jets a little bit going to get to the 35 yd line and what went from a broken play is now a first down to for the Eagles that could have been really bad really fast Alex that could have been really bad you got to love high school students there I mean that uh that had disaster from the start my heart dropped bman did a great job though he just

133found a void and uh he was able warning against the offense there's no yard penalty it's just a warning he did a great job though finding an opening getting his hand up in the air and a good stalk block I don't know who the other receiver was out there did a great job though getting room for another 30 yard run afterwards so clock is ticking Columbia gets a sideline warning after that big play there on Third and long backed up to their own two going to just give the ball up the middle to Jason Nelson we've got to do something about our snaps yeah on that one he clapped and the ball wasn't even snapped for two seconds there by James going to be no gain there oh lost of two I thought he at

134least got back to the line of scrimmage most likely that was the last play of the third quarter 10 seconds left now in this third Eagles walking back to the sideline getting ready for this fourth quarter where your Eagles are leading 19 to8 on that Manny McGuire group scoreboard we got one more quarter of Columbia Eagle football coming right back at you trying to get this W here in Jerseyville we'll be right [Music] back [Music] welcome back ladies and gentlemen into week four or week nine action quarter four here in Jersey where the Eagles are leading it they got a second and 12 ahead of them going to have single receiver up top Deuce backfield going to hand the ball up right the right up the middle looks like again with just jce Nelson simple

135inside Zone maybe gain one almost back to the line of scrimmage pton Andrews did not move on that play I think when think he's supposed to pull on that one and be the lead blocker there for Jace cuz he's lined up on that right side I don't think he did though he was in the middle of the hole when Jace was trying to run through it third and 11 now douche backfield again pton Andrews the sniffer back to the right we're just going to run the same play no we're not fake the hand off and it's going to be intercepted Midfield number 10's going to have it at the 40 35 530 going to get chopped down right at the 30 there's a penalty flag most likely after the interception going to be a block

136in the back after the interception and there Mason with the fake handoff up the middle trying to get it the rebling on a deep poster out down the middle of the field and kind of just threw it over the head of him and that safety there to make a great play on the ball return it back to the 30 yd line but most likely coming back a little bit after that interception Block in the backal foul Blind Side block during the return that's a tough penalty he's going back to make a block and everything's change everything happen so fast after that change of possession it's 100% a safety call and I'm not opposed to that but I mean we had a guy there who could have made the tackle what are you supposed to do

137just let the guy make the tackle you got to go block them so tough I got called for one of those back in uh my senior year at Carlile man sometimes you just yeah like you said what do you want to do just let my guy tackle him or let that other guy just tackle my guy like no want to try to hit him so Jerseyville is going to take over makes things a little bit more interesting now yeah 11-point game still two possession still going to run the ball here with 22 he's going to break two three tackles gain of about five going to be second and five now and if you're Jerseyville pick up four yeah you're getting four or five yards a carry with 22 but you're going to have to score

138twice in 11 minutes might want to start throwing the ball a little more under 11 minutes now go I formation once again doubles to the right single receiver up to the left they're going to turn and hand it off to 22 again he's going to try to Bounce It Outside Keegan Thompson there with a great Pursuit not able to force him back in but there to push him out of bounds looks like he's going to be short of the first going to be third and one good job there by the Eagles flowing to the football out there and forcing them to be short see if we can make a big stop here that time Eagles went with four down linemen they've been altering three and four so we'll see what Coach G I'd imagine he's

139going to have four down linemen here bad snap right here he'll take it bad snap going to be either a low or a high snap going to be double formation number 22 is not your running back that's interesting looks like he is not even in the game is he they're going to hand it off to number nine it looks like haven't called his number all night look like 22 was almost a decoy out here playing wide receiver I didn't see him on the field number nine just needed a yard and got about 20 yards out of that and he there was nothing special on that play right there that was just straight up the middle yeah inside Zone there here douche back field now doubles to the right B on that left hash going to

140send 22 in motion on a little flare motion out this way they're just going to throw a little screen pass out to him see what he can do going to get up field a little bit Logan Hicks able to make first Contact till you have Mason vley Sam Denny pton Andrews Hudson Bryant second down three all out there to fly to the ball and make a tackle flag on the play flag on the play Logan's done a great job tonight and even most of the Season too making tackles in the open field and doing a great job the getting around be a 10 yeny from this foul to foul is of the Rune first down we got through it holding on the offense number 70 that time going to be a 10 yard penalty still

141first down first in about 16 we'll call it 15 clock will start I think we need a stop here I don't know our offense isn't clicking too well right now I would really like a stop or a long drive this is where it starts right here on First and 16 keep them in that second and third and long here see if we can get some pressure around the outside going to send nine in motion now who was lined up as the running back quarterback's going to drop back the pass throw the ball right down the middle of the field he's got 11 at the 20 yd line Falls at the 15 going to be a first down for Jerseyville and just a simple little slant route almost it turned into like a skinny post quarterback

142just threw the ball right over the the linebackers and first down Jersey they're still driving 920 left now about everything I just said was now gone after that play going to run the ball number nine again looks like 77 I think on that back side second down he's turned to his side can't really see yep 77 gain of two caught second and eight Brody Furlow there number 77 couldn't tell if it was Corbin 77 anyways you got trips right now we'll give it to both of them they're both over there number nine lined up as that left running back going to hand it right up the Middle with him he's going to bounce off two or three eagles gain about three short of the first down marker third down third and a long two that's

143going to be third and three we'll call it it's interesting here with them spreading the ball out so or the field out so much we only have six guys in the Box yeah could just keep running not our favorable numbers there number seven is's wanting something he's had his hands out for the last 8 seconds 22's been lining up as a slot receiver a couple times on this drive now he's going to line up as the main running back in I formation doubles to the right most likely going to be a hand off to 22 here right up the middle and that's what they're going to do on a little counter play right up the middle going to get stuffed close I think he's going to get it first line marker first down Panthers going

144to have the first down inside the 10 ball at the seven 740 remaining so now if you're Big Goal Line stand right here if you're the Eagles and if anything if you're the Eagles try to just waste as much time keep them out of the end zone for at least two to three plays two running backs in the back field about eight in the Box for the Eagles going to send a guy in motion quick slant route over here it's going to be dropped by number 11 would have caught it at the two if he did keep his hands on it was going to be close to that end zone Payton Andrews it's where you can't play that far off going to be shift on your off another penalty legal shift repeat second down first

145it was first down penalty there if you're pton right there the ball's on the six and you're playing six yards off repeat first down that's I mean you can't be six yards off in that situation yeah when they run that quick slant 13 yd line that's a great play call out of Jersey seeing that great job by the quarterback seeing that too if they're going to play that far off and with and with pton he's I feel like he's more one of those physical guys so I mean if you're in on inside the 5 yard line go up and be physical with him you have five yards to work with him and be physical till they can call a penalty on it going to send 22 in motion as a little flare screen out there

146going to be a wide receiver screen to this opposite side great hit by pton Andrews kind of got ran over there but pushes him out of bounds Jones on going be only a gain of about oneall near the 10 yd line Second down and goal clock still ticking does not get out of bounds there I thought he almost got out of bounds seven minutes in counting going to be second and goal from right outside the 10 right at the 11 yd line where Jerseyville needs a touchdown here to make it a one possession game field goal does not do that going to hand it right up the middle of 22 he tries to cut it right back up the middle gain of three going to get down to close the seven yd line be third

147down and goal a field goal will get you to eighto game so it would make it oh yeah yeah you're right you're right you're right I don't know I didn't see their kicker before the game but based on his kickoff performance he's done right watch out for this tight end to the right here number 11 lined up as the tight end 22 lined up as that ring back faked the hand off to him quarterback's going to run to the left side everybody in the fan section wants him to run it still running in the back field he's going to Chuck it into the end zone and it's going to be intercepted by Sam Denny and he's got a lot of field in front of him he's at the 30 he's at the 3540 45 he's

148going to get dragged down right around Midfield and the senior Sam Denny might have just sealed this one pass Intercept in the end with an inter reception in the end zone brought back to Midfield hey we just talked about how the quarterbacks did a great play on that slant across the middle that time not a very good play there great job there though by Sam Denny stepping in front and making that interception on a huge play for the Eagles right there and with 550 let's see if we can get this offense going and shut this game down and I think that that quarterback could have ran the ball in over there there was nobody accounting for him Jared you're pretty smart though that tight end on the right side tried coming number 11 you said

149watch him he tried coming across the field and that was the look that was the play they were that they wanted that's two times they've they've ran it tonight and guess who Sam Denny again second time knocking the ball down and quick on offense here we're just going to run simple outside Zone there to Jason Nelson but like I said that's the third time they've ran it they scored on it once almost scored on it again there uh and then on the first time they ran it uh Denny was able to run all the way across field with number 11 and knocked the ball out of his hands right here in front of us so great job there by Denny to be there two out of the three times and reward himself with an interception

150as well with a touchdown tonight clock's definitely our friend now 520 Mason should not be snapping this ball until there's about 5 Seconds to go on the play clock we're getting close to that right now going to take the snap going to hand it off to Nelson once again just trying to fight for extra yards is going to gain nothing there Tron Cox on the tackle for a loss going to lose five what' you say gain of neg four it's a gain of negative five there he said that a couple weeks ago you had me dying see a loss of about six or seven there going to be third and 13 Jerseyville is going to burn a timeout we'll stay with you only five minutes left in this one eagles with a two-core lead 19

151to8 there was nothing going on that play from the start yeah I mean there headed rusher was there in blink of an eye great fan section here by Jerseyville tonight on this senior night it's turned into a little brisky night no wind Eagles up 19 to8 up 190 at half Jerseyville comes right out takes the ball all the way down the field scores goes for two makes it 198 long timeout here whose discretion is it as how long the timeout goes uh I guess the refs they might have a timer you see if you get that uh score on that freeberg waterl game again what's that sight that you use well I just use x but they used to have uh let's see Republic times has to have it on here third down and long

152for the Eagles trips to the left side running back left I'd imagine we're going to have a roll out left if I had to guess 26 nothing who uh reir nice I think trips to the left here Mason's going to roll out nothing really going for him look the pass and just wanted to run go the next play Ken Hut on the sack now it's fourth down here fourth down and I'm not sure how many timeouts Jerseyville has if they have two left I would think you want to burn one here there was absolutely nothing possible on that play that was blown up from the start and we even moved the running back up to be a sniffer back to make it an easier block on him and yep freeberg 26 water nothing it's going

153to end water's chances again that'll solidify freeberg and getting them in at six and three so vaguely lining up the punt here fourth and long and another low liner that's just going to bounce all the way to the 25 yd line and like you said not the greatest hang time but he's getting the best bounces tonight he didn't do the rugby punt at all tonight though I don't know if he just hasn't uh been practicing a regular punt but I mean that ball flipped the field pretty well for us there didn't look the prettiest but we keep getting bounces like that we'll stick with them so Jerseyville will take over first and 10 401 left in this season going to take over at the 25 yd line down 11 points going to need some points

154on this drive would have been nice to get some on that last one going to send 22 in motion going to send him on a little out route quarterback's going to roll out to the left side nothing really going for him going to try to flip it up like he did on that interception he's able to complete this one the 22 runs over two or three eagles on that sideline up able to get the 35 enough for Jerseyville first down great job by the defensive backs there on that play prior to obviously the catch happening did a great job passing off all the receivers onto one another I mean they had three different routes at three different levels and we covered every one of them so good job out of the defensive backs going to

155be doubles now quarterback drops back to pass once again he's going to roll out to this right side nothing going down field he's going to take off running now Hicks great containment there gain of four but whenever you're guarding that pass Hicks did a great job there to come up and make a play on the quarterback and have him only gain four Jerseyville right back on the ball Jerseyville is going quick doubles formation 22 is going to be this white right receiver on this side they're going to run all verticals here 22 ran a simple Drive route and this quarterback's got all day to throw grounding oh no he's out of the pocket terrible idea out of my mouth he couldn't have been farther out of the pocket no it wasn't too far cuz you

156had the ball in this hash no receivers in the area but feel like The Tackle Box changes it weekly yeah good job once again though out of the defensive backs so you got third and six here we'll call it minute off the clock during this drive 304 left now for Jerseyville quarterback drops back once again he's just going to Chuck it downfield over in belman's way and it's going to bounce off the hands of number 28 fall incomplete got his hands on the ball could have caught itman right there hip to hip the whole way going to be the biggest play of the game here on Fourth and six 257 left down see what kind of Defense Coach G drummed up here if you're Jersey do you take a timeout here to make sure I

157mean you have to have a first down here the ball game's over yep so do you try to I mean you're at 15 seconds I think I'd talk about it a little bit more in Call of timeout we're going to bring Brandon Jackson off bring rainwater in Play A Little Nickel here so rainwater going to play center field looks like belman going to drop back a little bit more now but why look at where he's standing right now he is 15 yard deep was seven we only need one guy deep yeah I don't know about that Jerseyville does burn a timeout going to have 256 left here to do a lot for the Panthers are down 11 I think that was their final timeout if not they might have one remaining I want to shirt

158got a t-shirt toss going on right now yeah I don't know you don't need to have two guys back deep do you play at the sticks I can go for that but not being 15 yards deep when you only got six yards needed well I think if your coach gerain you're just saying don't let anybody run past you right um rush we can give up we can give up a first down I'd say but just don't make sure nobody crushes your face and beat you down field that's that's the biggest thing here we're going to and we're having Keegan Thompson press him up top that's probably why we're going to play off a little bit so Keegan Thompson's locked up on that top receiver little 81 here thanks to Sam Herer reminded me last week

159going to send nine in motion he's going to drop back the pass a lot of pressure number five madx Stephan's going to have a sack and that's going to be close to the ending of the game madx stefen with a great Blitz there quarterback did not see him 34 able to bring him down for a loss on the play turnover on Downs Eagles football great job I just said we need to get a rush on this play that play before we really didn't have much of a rush great job though getting it this time now the unfortunate thing like I talked about being high school students everyone's all fired up they're running off the field we're on offense now Brothers Keegan Thompson running on offense right now we have a little trick play here for

160the Eagles Keegan a backup quarterback he's going to line up in that sniffer formation see what if coach Warner wants to have a little fun here with two minutes left he's just going to run simple inside Zone with Jason Nelson going to keep it nice and easy going to gain only two he's second and eight for the Eagles nothing special about that play just coming right at you and good little push at the end Keegan though is just going to be the that sniffer back I thought it was going to be a trick play but he's not afraid to put his head down and uh move some guys out of the way any more other people you need to thank I don't think so do I I don't think so I need to thank you

161I hope I don't forget being the great the greatest announcer there is that the Eagles have yeah that the Eagles have second and seven here just over two minutes remaining Mason waiting for that play clock to go down another simple run here again with jce Nelson gain of one under two minutes now going to be a third and six first down pretty much seals this one right here I think it would for sure I mean that's all you're needing to get right now you're going to have to run another play for sure at 100 seconds now just got to make sure you're holding on that ball Bo wouldn't that be something hold on that ball pety you're Watch Remember the Titans I've never seen seen the movie no I'm kidding I'm I was going to

162say how how you played football you ain't seen that movie same formation play clock under five now Mason takes the snap just going to hand it off once again third time in a row for Jason Nelson he's going to have that first down he's going to be close to it near that sideline Falls all the way back to the original line of scrimmage going to be yard short Maybe two be fourth down coach Herer going to keep the offense on the field I'd let this run all the way down and just take a timeout see what he does he's not up by the officials he's not going for it I just run the same play if you don't get it okay 45 seconds though so let this thing go yep 43 seconds 15 on the

163play clock fourth and three we'll call it so if you pick up first down here game is over if you don't clock will stop Mason's just going to get the snap and try to get it on his own he's going to get back to the line of scrimmage going to be short clock will stop at 25.1 pan take as the Columbia offense comes off the field for what might be the final time this season still got to be in your nickel here you're going to have bamman and rainwater back deep don't even need to go for an interception just knock it down again I don't know if we need to be 20 yards deep but well you know they're probably going to run either a little trick play something short little Hook and Ladder or

164they're just going to run Hail Mary I don't think quarterback arm is going to be strong enough to throw the ball 75 yards right now so probably a little trickery try to get out of bounds something quick just to get them maybe in field goal range just going to be a simple sweep to 22 and it's going to be look like Keegan Thompson tried to make the tackle going to be short of the first down looks like they're going to give it to him except the first down 10 seconds remaining and that might be the final play of the Season otherwise Columbia going to win this final game 19 to8 against the Jerseyville Panthers in this week N Action here in Jerseyville and I guess we'll stay here for a little postgame action Alex we'll

165stay here for the post game great job out of the Eagles defense um on a running back that was averaging or I don't know how many he was averaging he had 900 yards on the on the season though so the Eagles defense did a great job uh the senior running back was great the defense did what they needed to do I think we probably had four or five different uh different um turnovers um but all in all great night by the Eagles and I think probably our best game that we played maybe not the best game East Al we played pretty well but this one we played pretty good ball game yeah I think both sides of the ball uh other than that thre minute little concoction we had going on earlier there was a

166lot a lot of turnovers I think overall yeah this I think this was a cleaner game than East Alwood River um I think offensive line played the best game of the season uh I think uh defensive line played the best game of the season um Hudson Bryant my MVP of tonight um great job getting in the back field making it tough for those offensive linemen to get out there and block him but overall just a great job on both sides of the ball my other MVP is Sam Denny uh scoring his first touchdown of the year on that in that final game of the season so happy he could get in there score six good game out of the Eagles here coming away Victorious going to end the season two and seven couple plays away

167from I think maybe turning things around and having a different outcome on the year but we can't hit the rewind button and we're going to have to do what we have here so once again we need to shout out our senior players number one Payton Andrews Sam Denny Maddox stefen Lucas rbl Jackson bamman uh and we go down to Dalton rainwater Brandon Jackson Ben Simmons Shan horn Joe Kish and Hayden Hera I think there was 11 seniors there so thank you seniors yeah good job uh you did a great job coming out you know wasn't the season that you planned wasn't the season that you hoped for but you come out you leave Victorious you come out make an hourong Drive come up here and uh finish off your careers on the on the right

168path so good job to them as you see there on the on the screen thank you to all of the volunteers who like we talked about already they make everything possible they make this all run so can't do it with without them um it's been another fun year we'll look about think about doing it again next year so with all that being said thank you for everything everything thank you for another great season Eagles are going to finish the year Victorious 19 to8 go to 2- seven on the year and a team like I said in week two and three we had 60 yards of offense a lot of improvement all year long yeah we had a lot of uh young guys this season I know we're losing 11 seniors but um next year going

169to have a lot of returning starters uh a lot of freshman sophomore and juniors uh they got a lot of playing time this season so um got that first year Varsity experience um definitely going to miss all these seniors all 11 of them so look at in the next year you just hope I mean going two and seven that should motivate you uh going in the next year you don't want to have this feeling um after this season seeing these seniors um leave on a two and seven note you wish you could do more for him but um I mean going to the next year that should motivate you to to to work hard in the locker room um be good in school and just work hard every time you're at practice and around all

170your friends um and just go in the next season with a positive mindset I I don't know what working hard in the locker room is going to do for him I think working hard in the waight room that might that might do a little bit more for yeah I mean locker room that place stink so maybe they need to clean up a little bit all right with all that being said we appreciate you listening to us once again we'll bring it again next year uh in the 2024 season my name is Alex shmer appreciate do we'll see you all again next year thank you folks go Eagles baby
