001welcome in ladies and gentlemen to a beautiful Friday night here from waterl Illinois welcome in ladies and gentlemen to this Aces wild pregame show where we have the Eagles and the Bulldogs taking off in this week 2 matchup both teams coming in at that o And1 record then Jared Jermaine Alex schimmer again from the kchs broadcast here tonight Jared rivalry week here we are in col or in waterl what do you remember about your waterl games oh man uh going back uh playing water is always one of the most exciting games of the year of course um but I remember my senior year we got to come in here um it's always fun when you get to come to watero always a great atmosphere so uh we came in here my senior year and we
002got us a dub which is all that really matters um anytime you're playing wle all you all you really want to do is win so hopefully Columbia got has that mindset tonight well you got a little bit of br rights on me I never once in any sport that I played water I don't think I ever won so and this is definitely a big rivalry here that we got going for us and uh it's a game that you're only separated what 15 miles whatever it may be you come out everyone comes out together we got the route three rivalry shirts all going on this year once again and typically when this is in Columbia that's whenever we do our uh military appreciation night which is going to be next week for us but it's good
003because it's not just a football game it's a whole County it's everybody coming together yeah and I mean for some of these guys on the football team they've you've been playing waterl since you were in kindergarten first grade going back to Blue Jay so um some of the some of these watero kids you've grown relationships with whether it be great ones or bad ones but um so I mean coming in tonight Columbia and water um it's it's always fun so people are going to come out for it that's one thing that surprises me whenever I grew up playing sports it was never guys that you played with whenever we played it was always water had their teams Columbia had their teams and it was never like oh I'm going to go play my buddy like
004you didn't like the guy that was on the other side of the field of you and that's a little different this year a lot of these guys I remember last year the guys even talking they're like oh yeah that's my buddy I play baseball with them and football with them so that's got to be a different mindset for the guys too oh yeah definitely I mean and even some of these coaches that have been coaching against each other for 20 plus years you look at Dan Rose and Coach Herer and uh you got Luke cash and major down there on the waterl side so um a lot of a lot of friendships with that coaching staff but um tonight they're going to butt heads and it looked like coach Demian he's even a football coach
005it looked like whenever so yeah the former Columbia basketball coach now he's down here in waterl and he's he's taking on both Sports as we're talking here right now the captains are coming out onto the field and Jared you've got the roster for the Bulldogs here tonight let's go ahead and go over who their captains are as well as the Eagles looks like we got number 11 Kobe asogi he's going to be their quarterback this evening I'm pretty sure he's a lefty too so we'll have to watch out for that looks like we got number 61 Jake rustler their Center um who else we got out there 41 and 52 41 is Harrison uh don't know how to say that name so I'm not going to say it wrong um he is going to be
006their running back tonight and then 52 is Gavin Lich he's going to be one of their guards and middle linebackers tonight and as I look over I can see Joe Kish big number 75 last week was uh hindered with a ankle injury uh he was a game time decision tonight looks like he's going to be good to go and with him rainwater Dalton rainwater a wide receiver for us and does a little bit of everything if we need him to go out and be a uh running back back he can do that and I believe it's going to be Maddox stefen and Sam Denny I believe it's four and five in there too so that's the four Eagles starters we'll kind of watch that and see if the Eagles will be kicking or receiving we
007do get to uh call what we want this this evening for the coin toss as we have the official coming in right now to talk to the people in The Press Box so we're outside tonight you're going to hear a lot of background noises and we apologize for that but hopefully we're up and running we got a couple things figured out from last week as well so we apologize uh for last week's broadcast I never knew that trees could affect a broadcast so much and uh it definitely did for us so uh I believe Colombia just won and elected to defer the head referees is talking to watero the screen that you see there thanks to thanks for cooking thank you to uh First National Bank of waterl they supplied the meal tonight for the
008boys the pregame meal uh it was provided by washies but first Bank of waterl did get the uh get the meal footed for us so Jared let's talk a little bit about last week's game and just in the game we'll talk about offense and defense here in a second but just in a game in general uh when you watch it it was close but I think when you went back and you watched film it wasn't that good yeah and I mean that first quarter definitely wasn't very good for both sides of the ball um I mean you kind of expected that for your for your week one um playing a team that you don't really play ever that we've only played four or five times um and not a lot of returners come back to
009this team um so yeah it's it's going to be hard to get that first game under your belt um but I mean coming into tonight I think I think these guys know it's a big rivalry and know they got to play a lot better than they did last week um I think o line up front has to be a lot stronger and get to their blocks a lot better than they were last week um I think we got to tackle better um some of our linebackers and safeties were having to come up and um make tackles so uh we need some of them D linemen to step up and try to try to make some big plays tonight and you just pretty much KN hit everything there on the screen and uh it's a it's
010a pretty simple game whenever you break down to it but uh I think last week in that first week you need to catch the brakes we caught the braks but we didn't take advantage of them we had three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries but we never I don't think scored off of any and an onside kick and the onside kick yeah I forgot all about that so you catch those breaks in those first round games or in them first week games but when it comes to a rivalry you need to catch those breaks just as well and get this sideline off their game yeah and looking into the water last week they put up over 40 points over 45 points last week you know so um Columbia defense is going to have to come
011in here ready and definitely not uh allow that many points this week so um but coming in tonight I mean we're going to have a good atmosphere these fans are going to be all over the place so it should be fun when we look into the stats of last week's game we'll go with the offense first uh nothing going really in that first first quarter first half for the Eagles went down 14- nothing going into halftime luckily we came out in that second half and we did get on the board in the third quarter made at 14-7 and then ultimately we gave up the touchdown in the fourth got sacked for a safety in the fourth but we did come back and get 14 um but it wasn't enough they put up 22 with modern
012day but the Columbia offense was led once again I want to say by Mason vagle this year and something that's crazy on his stats he went five for eight passing 103 yards but on rushing eight rushes for 50 or 49 yards one of his rushes though was for 58 yards which is a touchdown run so you you throw in the Lost yards on the sack cuz that's not a good thing yeah definitely not and all the all the fingers kind of Point towards the o line on that um and we know we got two two new linemen uh coming in this year but hopefully that first week they got that under their belt um and they come into water tonight and they're a little bit more ready I was excited to see Jes Nelson last
013week too 13 rushes 42 yards we need to get him in the open field he caught a ball that was right down the middle of the field he was the first touchdown uh receiving wise out of the running back position but that was a pretty good play call there coach Warner talked in the Hol meets coaches show they knew they had to go for it on that drive and they picked the right spot and I think you even said that in the broadcast last week you're like man what a play call and what a time yeah I mean coach owners like that man um if you have if you have enough talent in your back field like we do this year I think um where you can go to three different running backs one being
014a PowerBack in cam janic one being uh the fastest kid on the team probably in Jay Nelson and then you could put a guy like dton rainwater pretty much anyone back there in the back field in this type of offense only using one wide receiver this year and then when you go to the other wide receiver but you still got Bel in Sam Denny Lucas ring Lucas ring his first game last week and he had a pretty big catch going down the middle of the field wasn't a great ball but it was a great reaction on Lucas to catch the football yeah and for a for a kid that's never played sorry but this is really loud they got the speaker right by us um but for the for a first time player ever playing
015football I'd say he did pretty well last week um playing corner is not easy and then also playing both sides of the ball as a receiver too uh in your first season of football but um he did well I'm looking forward to to see him catching passes tonight so hopefully those offensive linemen got something figured out I was walking down by coach Baker and Coach AMS and they were giving them a little couple extra pointers here tonight so hopefully those linemen get it figured out and get the blocking because Mason vagley had zero time whatsoever when it came to being in the pocket yeah and uh that's that's kind of what you need up front you don't want any of your guys like Mason vley or any your running backs taking shots uh three four
016yards behind the line of scrimmage so um I think it all starts with the o line tonight um and I think we have to work from there so now let's switch it over let's talk defense and without our defense last week I don't think we would have been in that football game yeah I don't think so either uh they kind of had us beat in that first half but on the defensive side of the ball it's all about adjustments um that quarterback was running all over the field in that first half so I know coach jine and his defense probably had to look at a little bit of film on the iPad and uh do a little things couple things differently and that's why the second half was a little bit different and we got
017we were able to tie it up and make it into a good game but um yeah coming in into this seeing 40 plus points scored last week um from water playing Mount Vernon I believe uh you're going to have to believe that they can put up some points and you're going to have to for some turnovers the defense last week gave up 312 yards total 188 through the air or I'm sorry 124 in the air 188 on the ground so we said that they gave us a chance still gave up a bunch of yards and the thing that does not Shock me though Brandon Jackson Leading The Way with total tackles of 12 yeah 12 tackles and as a linebacker that's that's that's what you want every single game um what I really want to
018see tonight like I said earlier though is some of those D linemen getting in the back field and uh a guy like Joe Kish who I think was got injured in that first half last week that we get to see him a lot but um I'd like to see him get in the back field a couple times and uh get a tackle for loss and then you look at the rest of the tacklers there madx Stefan is the senior that had uh six total tackles and then you had Keegan Thompson I believe he is a sophomore this year he had seven along with Junior Mason vagley so two seniors and two underclassman we'll call them uh leading the way with the T tack so kind of good that you got a little bit of everyone
019for taking and helping you out last week we're going to run into a break I believe right now the band is coming out onto the field so we're going to run into a break we're going to give it a look at our sponsors we can't do it without them so thank you once again we're going to let the band get started we're about 15 minutes and 40 seconds away from kickoff we will be back with the aces wild pregame show right after this over welcome back ladies and gentlemen into the aces wild pregame show make sure you let us know where you're listening from uh last week I forgot to ask that I'm assuming Mrs Harris was down in Florida she hasn't missed a game I don't think in our five years so let us
020know where you're coming from shoot us a text comment on the stream uh we'll give you a shout out if we're able to Jared we look into the conference schedule no nobody played any conference games last week however everyone played so uh couple things that surprise you anything that didn't surprise you on on any of the scores last week uh I mean in our conference I think you're going to look at roxa and three Central this year so um anytime that we see rockan and central pop up this season um I think we're definitely going to have to they're going to have to have their number um but I know Salem's going to be decent this year and every time we play freeberg um it's always a battle so um I mean this this conference
021isn't easy and you're going to have to win almost every single game to have a share if not um win the whole thing last week waterl we'll just go through the whole conference and what you see up there on the board uh we'll go ahead and we'll just run down the order right there Roxana like you said we knew they were going to get a victory and they did they got the 270 victory over Jerseyville Salem they were also Victorious and they beat Centralia coach Herer talked in that Holton Ms coach's show he doesn't know the last time that they beat Centralia that's like like our route three rivalry to them so Salem beat Centralia 34-28 and the final team to get a victory last week was freeberg freberg won 28-20 over Fairfield ironically enough
022freeberg didn't have a week one opponent they were supposed to play Sparta but Sparta had to cancel their season luckily found free or uh I'm sorry Fairfield and got the win look the wrestle obviously we lost a m day 22-4 Breeze mod day had a big challenge in front of them they traveled two Highland got beat 14 to35 and Wood River graduated just about everybody last year if not everybody and got beat 42 to nothing over St Louis Gateway tech so sets the uh the standings right there right now we go into tonight's game talk a little bit about waterl right now and what they're going to be coming out showing us tonight I know that quarterback's going to be uh he's going to be a hassle uh watch a little film um he's a
023lefty so and he likes to run the ball a lot so um outside linebackers and um inside linebackers too are going to have to flow to the ball tonight Force everything back inside I think that's going to be the biggest thing forcing everything back inside where you know you have your uh Defenders flying to help you and Coach Germaine talked he said the guy last week he was pretty good this guy this week just as good if not better quicker he's not going to be as big last week their quarterback was pretty good size for modern day this guy not as big but he's going to be Shifty and last week against Mount Vernon the Bulldogs got beat 55 to 41 and they were LED all the way with their rushing though out of their
024quarterback 30 rushes 134 yards so four four and a half yards a carry you do that three times you get a first down kind of looks like are you sure that's not D vaguely from last year right there man 30 rushes in a game I'll tell you what uh hopefully he he was iced up this whole week ready for the ready for the Eagles man rest of the rushing for the Bulldogs a AR run heavy offense 305 yards rushing 108 yards through the air and uh the big thing though if Colombia can get ahead early it usually means good things for the Eagles yeah and I feel like our coaching staff can always always keep us in a game like this uh you know um waterl they're going to bring their fans out it's going
025to get Rowdy um both sides are going to talk a little Trash um but it's going to be fun I'm I'm excited for tonight fun indeed we have a beautiful night Sun's setting behind us luckily we don't have to look into the Sun but I think I'd rather look into the son than have the speaker right above our head it's always fun you know we've been doing this for 5 years and we were talking before the broadcast we said you know what's been the best place and I think msca we were there one time and it was a stream that went horribly it was a great game London little yeah the whole thing get recorded yeah the last two minutes of that game was fantastic we never hit the record button that might have been
026my fault in my first year doing this but uh it was a great broadcast but that was a brand new Press Box we had our own little room set up it was perfect had a door on it nobody could even come in and mess yeah and now this year we're making sure that the coach and staff's not tripping over wires Josh has at least got a foot rest up here he's he's lounging back so let's go in a little bit deeper here on this waterl team when you look at their offense last week or just their game last week the thing that shocked me when I was talking to coach Warner their uh my Mount Vernon's offense never touched the ball and had 28 points already they returned two kickoffs for a touchdown as well
027as two pick sixes so the Eagles got to be aggressive tonight yeah like you said earlier I mean you got to come out early uh try to get some points up on the board early CU like like I've said three times tonight I mean I know Mountain Vern's a pretty good team um but if you put up 41 points against a pretty good team like that uh Eagles better be ready uh for this one tonight we're now under 9 minutes till kickoff here in waterl in this week two right route three rivalry that's a hard thing to say so Jared you look at what's your three keys into tonight's game and trying to get the Eagles on the Wind column for the first time I'd say say my first one would be just forget about
028last week uh take what beat you into this week um I think that's one of the biggest things you got to just forget about all those mistakes you made but also remember them um to push you to be better tonight um I think you got to block out the crowd I think especially for some of these sophomores and juniors that are playing that haven't really played a lot of varsity football um it can get a little hectic uh whenever whenever it's a tight game um you got fans scream in I just think you got to be you got to be ready um from the beginning from from this first snap and then my third one would probably be just have fun um anytime you play water you're never going to forget it it's one of
029the games if you win of course that you'll remember the rest of your life um so yeah those would probably be my three remembering the rest of your life and coming to waterl and taking the game did not happen let's talk a little bit about the history of this Columbia and waterl waterl uh rivalry here that we got the most recent we meeting Columbia last year winning 9 nothing let's go back to that year that they were down here last water Victorious 49-6 I can't remember anything about that game so it must not have been very good for the Eagles yeah I don't know if we even broadcasted that game I don't know if we were not allowed to or something but yeah I don't I don't really remember that game I'm kind kind of
030don't want to remember it yeah I'm glad we don't remember it so the series streak Columbia obviously is uh on the one game win streak the series record though goes Columbia's way 19- 17 they are 10-8 under coach Horner and 7 and3 in the most recent 10 games Columbia is trying to stay on the uh The Winning Side here on the road openers and Coach horer is 14 and8 over his 22 years on the road opener so it's a good thing you got to get out and start it early and that's what we're going to have to do tonight you know I watched the coin toss I didn't even see if we're getting the football or not to get going guess we'll have to wait and see all right ladies and gentlemen we are now
0317 minutes to kick off the Bulldogs have made their way out on the field the band is getting set up now so we will run to a break uh we'll stick with you here Columbia is making their way down to the field right now you look at we'll talk about that route three rivalry shirt who said proceeds used to go to songs for soldiers when it's over in Columbia water's got all their shirts on Columbia student section they're going with the wide out tonight yeah what's up with that it should be a blue outz weren't those shirts blue that the new ones they made they out three rivalry ones they were but coach sandstrom I believe with the blue crew they let the kids decide what they want to do and I guess they said
032we're going to wide out coming out are going to be the eagles with the white shirt white pants and white helmet waterl is going to be black on black with their orange helmets so just a pretty classic look with Columbia and water here with the black and orange and the blue and white they are going to do the national anthem right now we will run to a commercial break and we will be back right after the national anthemus Ro good rendition right there by the waterl Bulldogs band getting the national anthem going and now I guess they got their fights song as everyone is standing up doing the normal clap that you do with every fight song in America starting lineups are going to be the same just as we had last week um I'm
033not sure if the offense or defense is coming out onto the field first but we'll just go through the uh the starting lineups on the offensive side senior Dalton rainwater as a wide receiver tight end senior pton Andrews your running backs will be junior Cameron janick junor Logan Hicks and sophomore Jace Nelson quarterback in tonight will be Mason vagley the Jr and your lineman left tackle sophomore Owen minky left guard sophomore Brody furo Center led by senior Brandon Jackson Right Guard senior Joe Kish and right tackle Ben s Simmons for your defense all right on defense we got Lucas rebling playing at one of the corners uh other corn is going to be pton Andrews uh running those two safety spots uh we're going to have Mason Bagley and senior Sam Denny uh playing our
034linebacker spots middle linebacker senior Brandon Jackson outside linebacker cam Jan outside linebacker Logan Hicks and another linebacker senior mad step and 3D lineman for the Eagles senior Joe Kish sophomore Brody fur and Senior Ben Simmons well ladies and gentlemen we only have about two and a half minutes left in that Aces wild pregame show before it's Eagle football time it is Eagle football last night congratulations to our under Cass we have to congratulate the the eagle soccer team as they were victorious over Jabo last night I believe it was on penal or uh kicks at the end of the game I don't know too much about soccer but I did see that the Republic times uh posted a video of the game-winning kick so congratulations to the Eagles soccer team for being Victorious over Jabo
035that's always a good game uh volleyball I believe we talked about them last week they are still doing good in their games and they're still plugging away at wins I know they lost game one at Salem last night one game two and then ultimately one game three so they are continuing their success uh this year hopefully next week we will be getting able to talk to the other teams whether that be soccer I can give you some more information on them as well as Cross Country Golf and is there any other sports in the fall uh I think we got them all I think we got them all boys and girls I guess there's two boys and girls golf so that's what I was thinking so I am going to assume because it's usually how
036it happens that the Eagles won the coin toss decided to defer waterl said that they were going to receive so they will receive to our left side Keegan Thompson is going to be doing the kicking for the Eagles once again he'll be putting the ball down at the 40 yd line kicking right to left not much of a breeze here tonight in waterl as the flags are pretty much straight down earli earlier it was it was a little windy but it's kind of kind of died down a little bit theyy give it 3 weeks you'll be crying up here that it's too cold and you yeah you're going to have your gloves on you know I said there wasn't much wind and the ball Falls over that's on the tea so maybe there is some
037wind down there we're just not feeling it Columbia still packing the grand stands across the way there students great showing by the students in their white out cars are parked everywhere on the practice field and that's it for the aces wild pregame show we got Eagle football coming to you live from waterl Keegan Thompson with a short kick going to be muffed at about the 25 it's still floating around picked up by number 21 he's bouncing off of Everybody he brings it up to the 36 yd line where he's brought down by a slew of eagles and that wasn't a very good uh return there for the Bulldogs down last I think that was yeah last week Keegan Thompson has been doing a lot of kicking for us so um we'll be we'll be seeing
038a lot of him tonight if we uh score and we're get some of PS up in there water is going to pretty much come out they're going to be a run heavy team like we talked about in that pregame show they're going to be run heavy they're going to keep everybody in tight so the Eagles are going to have to hit their keys hit their blocks and uh linemen shouldn't be doing too much tackling tonight they should be plugging holes and the linebackers should really be flying the gaps I say they're going to keep it tight they go trips right empty backfield motion man number 12 runs to the right side quarterback's going to throw he's going to look deep right away he's got a man deep number five and it's about five yards too
039far and it falls incomplete waterl coming out slinging yeah first play one take a shot um try to beat looked like Danny over the top there with bagely as well um had a little looked like a tight end come out of that back field and run a a wheel toward to the other side of the field where um safeties kind of have to lock in a little bit more so great job there to kind of be in coverage that pass was intended for number five Chase Pete last week three receptions for 68 yards now the waterl Bulldogs getting up tight doubles to the left side they're going to run it to the left side with number 21 he's got a hole he's got the outside and he's got the 50 yd line he's got a
040plus more he's got it all the way down to the eagle 35 yd line good for about 20 yards and there is a penalty flag on the play number three Mason vley there is a penalty flag like that was sophomore daras sales there on that carry not sure what the penalty is here look like it's going to be against the Eagles going to be a face mask eag backing up now personal foul face mask at the 35 yd line brings it all the way up to the yain and 21 yd line so Eagles on their heels first 20 seconds into the game Ball's already at the Eagle 21 sails last week 17 rushes 127 yards little bit of speed out there whenever he got out wide yeah that was just a simple outside Zone there
041to the left got all the way to that Columbia sideline put his left foot in the ground and nobody was really there that's what I was saying earlier uh we saw a lot of those outside zones last week so you got to force Corners in those outside linebackers got to force everything back inside where your help's at officials getting together now I don't know if they're talking about the yardage That was supposed to be on the or the spot of the ball maybe yeah the yardage on the penalty they're picking it up from the 21 now they're going another five yards of more so that went from the 35 at 16 y line to the 21 to the 16 first down Bulldog I guess they didn't know where is that a spot foul gu oh
042no well it's first and 10 now on the 16 yd line yeah guess we won't know trips to the right side empty Back Field quarterback's going to run to the right side he's going to keep it himself he made one man miss number two for the Eagles is going to go out there along with number three to make the tackle good job by the eagles flying to the football cam janic first one there kind of got his hands on him um hopefully we see that a lot tonight where you got these linebackers just slowing to the ball and we need these Corners to come up and force everything back inside as I said on that last play but you'll probably hear me saying that all night cuz that's going to be one of the biggest
043things is keeping number 11 inside where all your help all those white hat hats down in five y Logan Hicks and Mason vagley on the tackle there with the two of them after a 5 yard gain I'm still trying to figure out the math in my head from the 36 to the oh is it 21 21 then down to the 16 down to the 16 that was a 20 yard penalty still doesn't make sense to me doesn't matter what I think though doubles to the right side running back to the left quarterback's going to give it to him he's going to run to the right Janik there once again good job getting the mid out there and making the tackle brought down by number zero cam Janik and number one pton Andrews and that Right
044Guard right tackle for water looking good so far on the on this first drive getting out there on those D lineman Joe Kish and it looks like Ben Simmons doing a great job of just sealing them off and let your running back four quarterback get to that outside um and turn it up field for first down first and goal from about the sixy now the officials down here he's wanting the play clock to reset the game clock to stop we had that last week yeah just blow the whistle again dude we had the same problem oh man the exact same problem that we had last week I talked to the guys up in the Booth they said you know restart the clock do it all at the same time now he gives the thumbs up
045now he resets it wow doubles the left side running back left they give it to the left side he bounces it out right now he's going to get a couple yards not enough to get into the end zone only a gain of three good job by the Eagles defense it's like Joe Kish is the last one to get up on the pile getting credit for the tackle inside the five here see if Coach G wants to bring in any any more be on that D line looks like he's going to stay with those three down linemen might move Brandon Jackson up to a lineman here see what he does Jackson typically a linebacker looks like he's standing around that defensive end spot he might just be a linebacker standing up let's see what he does
046he's going to put his hand in the grass in the turf second and three from the three quarterback Dive Right up the middle he's going to be hitting the back field and it's going to be short third down third and goal from the one who was in there in the backfield first Jared did you get to see look like Joe Kish again and you had Furlow and it looked like maybe uh Brandon Jackson again from that back side bring up third goal from about two and a half Y Line Brody furo the sophomore 510 185 he's sandwiching between Jackson who comes in at 511 200 and on the other side you got Joe Kish 6' 305 got some meat in the game four down territory right here too motion man they fake it to him
047they give it to the running back who goes right up the middle into the end zone for a touchdown D sail takes it in for a 2yd [Applause] touchdown hard to do anything there when you get a 15 20 yard penalty really backs you up in a hurry yeah and all we really saw on that drive they took a shot on that first play and then just went run heavy there using that sails and master hogy from the back field number 20 on to do the kicking number one will be your holder for the Bulldogs good snap good hold kick is up and it is right down Broadway so that'll take the Mandy Maguire group scoreboard waterl Bulldogs seven Columbia Eagles zero the store just 3 minutes and 4 seconds into this game hopefully the
048Eagles as you saw there real quick we scrolled through that George Weber Chevrolet is going to be sponsoring all of the Eagles touchdowns this year this year the Eagles scored two in week one so that's $200 from George Weber Chevrolet to the Columbia Eagles Athletics so thank you to George Weber Chevrolet for the sponsorship what's what's something you want to see out of this offense this week Alex well besides the obvious and I want to see some blocking I want to see the Eagles Take a couple chances and now and that has to go with the blocking you can't take a chance if you don't have the time so we got a lot of routes that are three three level routes so I'd like to see if we we hit a short route here or
049deep route there um obviously we hit riing last week for a deep route so I'd like to see something like that and I'd like to see Jay Nelson uh get out in the open field and turn the Jets on I think that could be fun and exciting to watch see if we can get something going on this kickoff return here you know uh that always brings a lot of hype on that sideline for Coach Kendall and the whole coaching staff so see if we can get this momentum back on our side now the officials can't figure out what ball they're going to kick so they're coming around now they're all wanting to talk about which ball is going to be the kicking ball is it Columbia's ball waterl and I shouldn't give so much trouble
050to the officials a lot of times they're hard to come by so a lot of these officials are playing a game tonight turn around do maybe a game in the afternoon and a night game tomorrow night so got to give credit to them I definitely couldn't do it I don't know if I could be a ref especially in high school football I don't think I could handle the the people I couldn't handle Junior Eagles basketball doing that referee so be the Eagles now receiving the ball looks like Nelson and rainwater are your two deep men rling and Thompson are the short guys at the 20 it's going to be rainwater from about the eight he's trying to cut up to the middle of the field getting chased down by a couple Bulldogs where he's hit
051at the 21 return so the Eagles offense by number 41 he's going to start over there 8 minutes and 50 seconds to go in this first quarter and another thing you need to see here Jared need to see the Eagles offense get something going and get a rhythm yeah uh I know in the past coach honer likes to call it Tempo keeping that Tempo up especially on your first drive after you're down seven nothing I mean coming into this atmosphere you're already down I'd say 7 14 nothing so um this is a big first drive here you got to you got to make sure that you watch a lot of film this week and um you know what's going on Double Stack for the Eagles split out pretty wide motion man's going to be Jason
052ellon number 22 it's going to be a fake to him going to be vaguely right up the middle he's got a good seam he's got keep crawling there yeah he got five yards gain five good hole there by the Eagles defense or offensive line and hopefully if watch if watch their film a little bit they know how fast Jason Nelson is so um putting him in motion there on that first play of the game thinking that we're going to get him the ball there and get him some open space out there and open field I didn't even seeed were they on man and they flew with them they flew with them well that shows you that you're going to be manto man got one safety deep so he's going to be playing Zone they still
053look like they're in that man look oh no Nelson's going to be the motion man he's going to go to Pistol back it's going to be a handoff right away up to him and it's going to be fumbled by vaguely tried to pull it at the last second loss of five four take us to a third and nine in that play didn't have any time and also I didn't even realize on that first one I was wrong whenever they sent Jason motion that osar hogy who was guarding him just went to that animal spot as a linebacker and he's just blitzing right there and I think he was the one that caus that fumble there so that left tackle is going to have to guard his man and get to that linebacker if he can
054trips to the right side water showing a bunch of blitzing guys ostrog he looks like he's going to be blitzing he pulls off trips right running back right 738 on this third and N opening drive for the Eagles going to be a straight pass vaguely sets his feet throws it out and it's going to be dropped INE by number five Maddox stefen wouldn't be a big gain but it would have been better than a drop that'll bring up a four off the bad spot off the hands yeah that was just a simple out out there by madx stefen um only about four or five yards down field would have had to make a play to make a first down but uh brings out the putt team says second down over there but it's really four
055now we're first was first first and nine vaguely going to be your punt guy now it's off vaguely standing at the 11 Return Man for waterl standing at his own 45 I don't know if the ball was tipped they are calling it tip so the running into the punter means nothing being as the ball did get tipped so pun was a punt of 10 blocked by number 52 not the start you wanted not the start you wanted Gavin lick so that's going to put the Eagles defense once again in bad territory with the waterl Bulldogs having great field position starting at the Eagles 33 I will say you cannot miss Matt on that Columbia Eagles sideline man Crips got a safety green vest on with the reflectors sun is beaming off of them right now
056empty backfield for the Bulldog trips to the left side tight end right running back right he's a motion man going to be a roll out for the quarterback he's wanting to go deep he's going to have to tuck it and run now looked for a big hit there for the Eagles 11 quarterback just spun off could have been a gain of three turns into a gain of seven brings up a second and three that was designed to be a little roll out you had this tight end and receivers on that other side running all three running routes but that quarterback just decided to put his head down and gain seven there three yard to go for the that's something that has I'd say changed since I'd say five seven years with these running quarterbacks I
057mean if you're going to roll out with uh your quarterback and they can turn it up field that's always a great thing water breaks a huddle under 10 seconds now on the play clock drips to the right side two guys in the back field right back and go right up the middle he's got enough for a first down brought down I believe it's going to be by number two and number four for the Eagles Logan Hicks and Sam Denny looks like the eagles are kind of on their heels again [Music] now another first down for the Bulldogs enter into the Red Zone we need to get a red zone sponsor another first down that would be a good one there when I was at missou go Tigers they got the victory last night the caseih
058Red Zone I don't think I'll ever forget that I don't know why I remember it doubles to the right side sniffer back right quarterback has a running back to his left side 5 seconds on the play clock he gets it off fakes the hand off nope quarterback keeps it good job Brandon Jackson nothing going on the play Brandon Jackson with the big stop loss on the play number 55 great job there by brand Jackson just getting in that back field and we saw that last week who was that um one of the defensive linemen who would get in that back field three or four times it might have been uh I want to say it was Simmons was it Simmons yeah he'd get in that back field and kind of just look around and the
059guy would run right past him and that's kind of what Brandon Jackson did there you got to pitter patter your Treet once you get to that spot and just read that read where that ball goes and just try to get a hand on him and all your all your buddies will float the ball brings up a second and 14 now 5 minutes to go in the first quarter empty backfield motion man's going to come back with the quarterback High snap brought down false starten false start snap false start on the Bulldogs number five was the motion man for water I believe that was sails if I remember correctly I'm looking for the lineup here you got the lineup with you yeah oh look at that shows that you're paying attention what I was talking about
060there Chris Pete was the motion man I was thinking of last week when we had about a fourth and 17 right here oh and all a sudden it turned into a 38 yard touchdown yeah so it is going to be second and 19 is what they're going to give it ball at the 29 yd line going to be a snap that goes right to the quarterback he's looking deep and it's got madx Steff there oh Denny jumps the route at the last second gets knocked down but great defense there by the defensive backs for the Eagles that receiver almost had to play defense there I think Sam Denny had both of his hands on that ball and that wide receiver had to come back and kind of t knock it out of his hands great
061job there by Denny I I knew that play was coming Alex I told you man they did it on second down though not fourth and you got to take a chance there for the Bulldogs if there's a if it's a pick you got them at the 10 if it's a pass interference it's 15 good play call there by the Bulldogs good defense by The Eagles Pete's going to be the motion man going to be out wide to the left side Eagles are going to have to chase him down force him in do a great job of doing it nothing going just three yards on the play brings up a fourth and long I believe that was number two Logan Hicks there who was just riding with that right or the left tackle there and forced
062him to for go back inside and cut cut up field um and that's where he had number three Mason vley and number one pton Andrew get to that side and make a tackle there a fourth down and 16 y to go fourth and 16 you got to have a nickel formation here I would imagine correct yeah looks like Keegan Thompson's going to come out play that kind of center field type guy Jackson now is no longer going to be a lineman he's going to be the lone linebacker Eagles got everybody back deep lot of motion going on up front it's going to be a screen pass Eagles did a good job fighting off the blocks they got to make a tackle and they do Mason vaguely in the open field turnover on downs and that's
063what you need once again out of that Eagles defense got a little nervous there we only had about two three guys on this side M vley was good enough to come up P P's feet make good tackle there colia I think that's my new word this p p already 15 y so that forces a turnover on down Eagles offense is going to start over now at the 15 yd line 433 on the game clock game clocks to our right side Eagles are currently moving right to left going to be on the left hash hey the first half of the first quarter has been all on this side of the field though I haven't had to step up and look yet we can't see the other half of the field drips to the right side running
064back right lone receivers rainwater to the left it's going to be a now route thrown to Jace Nelson and it's going to fall incomplete on a very bad ball by Mason right there luckily it fell and it wasn't a backwards pass it was very close to being a backwards pass that would have been about a loss of about seven or eight there yeah brings up still second and 10 and some of those you got to worry CU it's like almost like a lateral so you got to get on the ball was incomplete waterl coaches are asking if that was a backwards pass or not referees are saying nope it was forward doubles now for the Eagles ball still on the left hash vagle is going to be in the back field by himself janic is
065going to be a sniffer back he's right behind the guard looks like motion man Nelson it's a hand off to Nelson he's in the open field get the Jets on Jace he gets enough yards to get one yard pass theine of scrimmage he ran about 30 yards the game two officially had me fooled I thought he got up field more than that gain of two hopefully that's what we see a little bit out of the Eagles trying to get outside use a little bit of our speed to our advantage now the ball's going to be on the other hash the right hash we're going to have about a third and eight here see what coach Horner dials up third and eight under four now in the first quarter four down lineman for the Bulldogs two
066linebackers showing a blitz right up the middle looks like one's going to back off and he does they fake the hand off the Eagles do and it's vaguely right up the middle but he gets popped by Kobe ooster hogy gain of the nothing more and brings up a fourth down and five 11 Kobe Oster hogy ooster hogy we've said his name a bunch already offensively and defensively for the Bulldogs yeah looks like he's going to be their playmaker tonight and this year based off last week's stats bring up a fourth down four y to go anytime you have a quarterback that can Rush 30 times and take a beating and play defense good athlete vley back to punt looks like Mason's going to try to let this play clock go down a little bit and
067he does last one got tipped this one does not it's a spiral it gets off great bounce for the Eagles bounced initially at about the 4 47 yd line on the eagle side of the field and goes over into water territory from the 38 we're going to run to a commercial break real quick it's going to be a fast one as the teams are switching fields we will be back right after this [Applause] welcome back to water we the rout three rival sees the Bulldogs leading seven nothing right now wing back to the right side running back's going to run to the right side right behind him he's got first down yards and only about two more 2 DZ sails on the carry brought down going to be enough for a first down gain of
06812 they need to figure out the speaker above our head ball right now at the 50 yd line waterl is going Tempo they up to the line of scrimmage they under Center this time good job by Stefan forcing it in good job by vagle running the gaps gaining nothing water tried to catch us napping we weren't napping that's all is thaty has come out and force everything back inside that's a great job that madx did gain of one having all the eagles that'll bring up a second down and nine yds to go second and nine now for the Eagles or for the Bulldogs rather sorry Eagles are on defense game's kind of slowed down a little bit now Eagles are going to have three down linemen four linebackers and four defensive backs doubles to the
069left side quarterbacks uh shotgun formation he's going to run it to the right good job Eagles forcing it back inside keeping contain good job there by number one for the Eagles and number five up making the tackle that's something proba going to see all just getting thatall trying to get as many yards with it as he can so uh great job there by the Eagles flowing to the ball bringing up a big third down here gain of two that'll bring up a third down and seven yds to go third and seven ball at the [Applause] doubles to the left side now running back to the left side of the quarterback hard count Eagles didn't watch the football jumped off Sid flag before the s first quarter first down correction gave the Bulldogs a first down
070go but it's only a gain of five third and two manageable third and two now for the Bulldogs Eagles got to make a stop once again they do a good job forcing it in Miss tackles though gain a seven and a first down now to the Eagles 35 Y Line look like five MX Stefan was there to make that first play short of that first down marker but good enough to pick up first down for the Bulldogs with 130 left here in this first quarter Bulldogs are driving yard now it's good for a bulldog first down same formation for the Bulldogs once again tight end right sniffer back right single split outs motion man's going to be Pete number five very very close snap there running into the motion man given to number 21 he
071goes to the right side good for five CHS being a big run back right now tonight gain of five bring up a second down and five yards to go second and five for the Bulldogs I don't know if the Bulldogs have really had a negative yard play in this first quarter could possibly be the last play of the quarter here as we're approaching 40 seconds on the game clock empty back field trips to the left side quarterback's going to roll to the left good job sealing janic asking for a hold there was no hold whatsoever Kobe ostra hogi puts his head down gets 15 yard and I think it was just because I saw janic fly up right away I kind of watched him on that whole play he he wanted a hold right away
072there was no hold they just forced him down into nothing and he's got to put that outside shoulder to the outside yeah keep forcing everything back in CU once that quarterback gets that sideline um and no Corner could even get to him uh there's not much coming back from that that's going to be a first down and more and then to just kind of jog after the after the quarterback there kind of took himself out of it trips to the left side running back left last play of the quarter it's going to be a reverse number 12's going to get it as he comes underneath the play number 12 Brady rose on the carry nearly a miss hand off two Logan Hicks that's what I was kind of watching I didn't even see that it
073was going to be a reverse 15 seconds now on the game clock and you can hear the water coaches calling for for water so that's probably and it looks like it's going to take us to the end of the first quarter pretty quick first quarter waterl started off pretty big they got the opening kickoff the face maskk personal foul that turned into a 20 yard face the first quarter with the score took the Bulldogs into Eagle territory they got a touchdown Eagles had a couple stops nothing going though for the Eagles offense we're going to head to a break we will come back with second quarter action from the route three rivalry right after this welcome back to welcome back to waterl in that route three rivalry where the Eagles are trailing this one seven
074to nothing switching the field around water down to our left side they got the ball second and seven from the 12 quarterback's going to take the snap hand the ball off to number 21 great job there Cameron Jan fighting off the block out of the big linemen and making the tackle going to be a loss on the play Cameron Janet and number 77 Brody furo we really don't on that yeah that'll bring up a third down in seven yards let us know where you're listening from tonight Eagles trailing this one 7 nothing in the second quarter doubles to the right side we'll call it trips to the right side empty backfield quarterback's going to go to the right side good job Brandon Jackson running the alleys running them down quarterback number 11 and forcing a
075fourth down good job good speed there by Brandon brought down by number 13 Keegan Thompson definitely going to go for it here so see what Coach G wants to do looks like Brandon Jackson's going to come off gain of four yards I believe M St coming on corre another guy coming on looks like 71y yep sophomore yep so Stephan came on and he ran right back off so I think we're bringing a little bit more beef in for this play 10 seconds on the play clock got to be careful with that if you're waterly motion man once again is Pete they're going to fake it to him go with number 21 he's going to try to cut up field and he does he's going to be 21 d Sals and he's going to get it
076good for a first down brings up first and goaly and number zero Cameron Jan good job running there by waterl running back getting up field and getting yards needed four yds just enough for another Bulldog first down first and goal from the four yd line I'm sorry I'm laughing that's oh man first and goal waterl taking their time being pretty methodical as they move down the field they've had control here tonight doubles of the right side tight end to the left sniffer back left quarterback's going to run left he's going to get in front of his lead block and he's going to keep fighting I don't know if he got then he got to about the one maybe the two the before getting brought down sto by number four Sam Denny and number 14 Jackson
077belman belman and Denny get credit for the tackle there gain of two here comes the same exact play Alex ooster hogy ran in front of his lead Blocker on that one he wanted to get in the end zone ball on the two yd line second goal from the two motion man moved over to be a sniffer back quarterback's moving everyone around it's a sneak right up the middle and as I was describing everything I was going to say touch here comes a sneak he lined up like he was going to be in shotgun formation and he had one guy go out to his right and all of a sudden he's under Center taking the snap and he's in the end zone great job there by Oster hogy he he was pointing moving a guy over
078to the sniffer back pushing a guy over to be the wide receiver moving another guy from an inside spot to the out and all in the meantime just walks right up the middle and gets into the [Applause] endzone water on for the pat good snap good hold four Eagles get back there but none of them get close enough and that extra point is good that takes the Mandy McGuire group scoreboard [Music] columia water leading this one with 14 14 we're going to run to a break and we will be back with the rest of the second quarter right after this [Applause] welcome back to waterl where the Eagles Trail at 14 nothing 920 high kick for the Bulldogs going to be returned at the 15 by Dalton rainwater he's just running straight up the Middle
079with his guys in front of him good job recognizing it and getting after it he gets up to the 33 yd line and Jared I'll say it again Eagles offense got to get something going number 41 har drive we thought we would have had something going there uh with Mason breaking a couple tackles on two or three runs there but um definitely need to get something going need to get the ball out in our in our receivers hands a little bit and try try to get the ball on the perimeter let our athletes make some plays Eagles are going to have everybody standing at the line of scrimmage we're going to go to the same formation that we had last week two pistol backs we'll call it with vaguely in the backfield Nelson and Hicks
080Cameron janik's going to be your sniffer back to the left side they're going to run it to the left it's going to be Hicks getting hit at the line of scrimmage nothing going on the carry and a penalty flag on the play brought down by number usually around the area of Chop block and that's what it is so chop block Jared for official clarification when you got a guy engaged up high and somebody hits him low or vice versa can't do it can't do it I was just admiring this flat screen TV that water's got on their sideline down here yeah watero everyone now is going to that huddle software we'll call it and water's got it over here and they got a whole TV screen he got its own carrying case wrapped up and
081everything pretty fancy stuff haven't seen anybody sitting at it though other than a couple coaches can't carry that around like an iPad same formation now it's just to the right side Ballin on the left hash it's going to be flipped this time to Hicks he's got a lot of room and just barely gets tripped up that could have been trouble there if he breaks one or two tackles there and he was tripped up by probably still be running I didn't realize that that chop block is a 15 yd spot foul so that was probably on that play turned into a first and shoot 204 yeah 23 24 right so so it brings up a second down and 20 after the run that we thought had a little bit going for it turns out tripped him
082up by the Sho strings trips to the left side single receiver to the right is rainwater running back to the left low snap vley catches it he's going to throw it out to rling he gets behind one blocker he's going to gain about seven and at least brings up now a third down and 14 down by number 41 Harrison bask number 30 Owen one of the guys that does the line the line judge over there got rolled up on a little extracurricular like Logan Hicks gain of seven one the Bulldogs kept fighting all the way past the whistle that'll bring up a third down knocked over one of the CH y to go he's questionable to return get Aaron Andrews down there to give us an injury report trips to the right side ball on
083the left hash running back left going to be quick pass to the left caught by Hicks there's three waterl Bulldogs gain of two to number two Logan Hicks in for a third down and 14 tackled immediately by number 41 man third and 14 We R in a two-y route brings up a fourth down and 12 yeah you can't you can't start your drives off getting bad penalties uh jot block is not not going to be good on First and 25 going to be a timeout eagles with 651 on the game clock in the first half we'll run to a break we'll give you a look at our sponsors and we'll be back with the second quarter here in watero right after this welcome back to waterl where the Eagles are going to be punting Mason
084vagley takes the high snap gets it off and it's a short kick this time it hits at the 50 and it's going to take a waterl bounce where it's finally going to be touched at the Eagles 48 yd line as we were on the break we were just talking our watches went off it's over 90 DB we're going to go death if we sit here for over a half hour feel guy talks every syllable so waterl is going to take over once again in Eagles territory at the 48 yd line 642 remaining and waterl could do a lot of damage right here if they get in the end zone going up three scores going into halftime yeah 6 minutes Columbia could not get the ball back if water takes their time here so we need
085a big stop big turnover poer Augie giving some signals to the wide receivers and it's going to go to a running back however going to be good for about maybe seven Sam Den before Sam Denny is able to make the tackle pretty good hole there for the running back to run in yeah and I've seen two or three times T night there's been two or three guys playing after the whistle so I'm calling it right now Alex there's going to be a flag for that coming up here pretty soon that's something whenever you always play water to you always have to have your head on a swivel a little bit cuz they're always trying to come knock you out any time they can get that's what rivalries are about everyone at the line of scrimmage
086for the Bulldogs quarterback keeps it himself he's going to get enough for maybe five or six first down what' you see on that play Jared looks like we got a freshman in the game now for the Eagles K musoff and he was kind of in on that play I kind of like what I saw from him uh through the D not the D Lin the O linan kind of to the side and was able to get his hands on that running back kind of got dragged a little bit but uh able to be the first one there and make contact is he the big boy in the nose guard position right now I think he is the on this left side over left side okay can't see a number he's got his jersey all rolled
087up MH going to be the reverse play once again and tripped up good job Brandon Jackson he wasn't going to be fooled on that I read that like a book when was the last time you read a book um dang probably eighth grade put you on the spot there sorry Miss Adams if you're listening after the big play by The Eagles thir yard loss three three I was doing math in my head where they were three yard loss on the play brings up second and 13 from the eagle 39 yd line 455 remaining in the first half quarterback play action pass he's looking deep he's got a guy over there and it's going to be pton Andrews who's going to intercept the football it's intercepted by The Eagles great job andw getting to the football
088and making a play and making up for that play last week I think he was the one on that fourth and 17 if I'm not mistaken who was feeling for his wide receiver kind of got beat over the head there um great great Redemption there get get his first interception of the year for pton Andrews I'm not saying it looked like it hit the ground but it looked like it hit the ground it looked like it hit the ground but we'll take it interception for the Eagles good job pton the Andrews that's two weeks in a row now forcing turnovers out of that eagle defense so always good to be able to see that now Eagles defense got to capitalize offense yeah Eagles offense sorry pistol back running back to the right sniffer back janic
089to the right lone receiver to the left is rainwater Bagley takes a snap it's going to be a Pitch it's going to be Hicks he's got his eyes down field tackled by three waterl Bulldog Defenders loss of a yard on the play second and 11 he was brought down by number kind like that play call there trying to get your athletes out in open space when you don't have those linemen uh get into their man fast enough I mean those split seconds matter so whenever you have to and whenever you're running outside Zone I feel as a r or right tackle running to the right uh it's a little bit harder for you you got to get to the outside and force them all the way back in so um see if our linemen are
090able to do that for the rest of the night hopefully they can rainwater and belman are your wide receivers now stepan's going to be the sniffer back to the left side Eagles are going to hand it off they're going to go up the middle Jason Nelson doesn't get anything maybe to the line of scrimmage number 22 jce Nelson on the carry loss of one officially now third and 11 look across the way coach Warner he just got his arms out not much going for the Eagles offense tonight loss of a yard some you don't really want to hear I don't know bring up a third down in 11 I don't really know if you want to take a shot down field uh I mean it would almost be as a pun if you want to
091Chuck it down there and we's see what we do here on third down though as you know on fourth down we're most likely going to punt it I would hope bamman and Stefan went off janick and Hicks came on four down lineman for the Bulldogs motion man is Jay Nelson play action pass this time vagle is going to have to make something happen runs into a couple Defenders he keeps his feet moving he's trying to get something going number but there's too many Bulldogs in the back field loss again number brings up a fourth down and the Eagles are going to have to punt loss of another yard on that fall into the ball really nice too every time uh you see one guy kind of get their hands on the the guy with the
092ball see three four five more orange hats flying uh which is everything you want as a as a defensive coordinator of course Mason's going to have to watch the play clock we're at 15 seconds I would use up every second I could yeah as there's only 240 on the clock but waterl I believe they have all three of their timeout so they could try to make something happen here Mason lets it go to three before he punts he gets it off he gets hit there is a penalty on the play now is that going to be that is a personal foul it ring or there is aeny flag well it's a penalty foul So it's 15 yards so I don't really care what it is what is it it's you are right the roughing and
093then there's running into the kicker one of one of them is automatic first down the other one's just like five yards yeah one and one's if you hit the plant leg one's if you hit the kicking leg regardless I believe the Eagles are going to have a first down oh I've got hit kicking a Pat I tell you what that was probably the hardest I've ever got hit in my life slash the Jersey b game that's for another day that Jersey B story I don't really want to talk about that one learned something new this week you talk about the slash did you know the hashtag symbol yeah is an octo Thorp octo Thorp that is the official name why coach stump knew that I have no idea buten first he filled me in on
094that this week so you call it a slash I call it an octo Thorp I did not know that yeah learn something new every day thanks coach dump 224 remaining before that Life Church halftime show Eagles got to make something happen ball on their own 38 yd line 224 remaining in this first half motion man is Hicks penalty on the play penalty flag on delay of game on the Eagles he our the play here y yeah that was my senior year as well I guess he was the on that play I'm going to say you didn't work out very well I'll tell you that you weren't very hidden first I literally sat right behind the left guard like this and they gave me the ball and I only got about five yards so after the
0955 yard penalty for the delay game going to run the same play here for the Eagles Hicks goes back to the pistol back position High snap brought down going to be handed off to Hicks nothing going once again loss two of another six tackled for a loss by number 11 Kobe ostrogi Eagles moving backwards yeah this o line just can't get anything going right now loss of five yards on that walking back to the ball with two minutes left and looks like we don't really have any Tempo um I don't know if coach Warner just wants to get the halftime right now only down 14 or 20 just going to take our time here and try to get down field in minute 50 under two minutes now like you said you're going to get the
096kickoff after halftime so maybe that's his mindset doubles running back to the left side manto man on the outside for the defensive backs and there is everybody in the back field right away for waterl vley is going to have to scramble he throws it left-handed good job getting something to happen and if I'm Mason vley I think I'm going to losing my mind on a couple of these uh these linemen there yeah I think he said go and there was two guys in the back field right away yeah and you're a quarterback I mean as a quarterback that frustrates BR third you work all week 20 yard to go learning what's going to happen through throughout the game um yeah they might be a little bit bigger they might be a little bit faster than
097you but um there got to come to a point where you're starting to get you're starting to get mad yourself letting these guys get past and hit my guys so hopefully we see some fire in this o line here come out with 130 left trips to the right side rolling outright going to be caught by belman he tries to come up the middle he does he's got a good seam gets up to the original line of scrimmage 14 plus a yard brings up a fourth down and brought down by number 52 Gavin time out waterl 120 remaining in the first half and Jared to go off on your point as a quarterback you're right you do get a little aggravated because they've got four linemen that are down now they probably are sending some blitzers
098and I'm just not seeing it right now but you got four down linemen your offensive line you got five yeah so you're already one guy up you got a running back back there with you so now you're two guys up yep and as a quarterback obviously your eyes are downfield and once you get hit one time and you got to scramble it's in the back of your mind so last week we talked a couple times we said man I wish Mason would have stayed in the pocket just a little bit longer he didn't have to scramble well when he hasn't doesn't have much confidence it's hard to stay in the pocket right there his mindset is oh man I got to go I got to get out of here and that and that forces everything
099off off your tempo's off your timing's off a snap gets thrown off it just it screws everything up so when they say that the game is won and lost in the trenches it is that is probably one of the most accurate statements in football yeah and I'd say another one is defense wins championships I think that's another thing I think your defense always always keeps you in the game no matter you're playing against Patrick Mahomes or mark buer it doesn't matter who it is I think your defense is always the one that's going to carry carry you throughout um a season a game um yeah you're going to have those five six games probably that they're going to be scoring 40 something points but got to look at the other side and um not not
100allowing a lot of points is always a big thing too soag we're going tot now fourth and eight for the Eagles from their own 40 yd Line 120 to go in the first half we are going to elect the punt water's done a great job getting in the back field on every punt tonight this time they do not good punt going to be hit at the 37 yd line gives a good Eagle bounce and gets down to the 23 Y Line 111 on the clock before that Life Church halftime when we get into halftime we're going to let it go uh to a break not going to have too much to say today and we're not going to have too much to show obviously because the Eagles marching band will not be on the field
101so we'll run to a break we'll get our thoughts together on the first half try to find some scores from around the area and we're going to talk a little bit more about that defense wins championships I think you got the defensive mindset my offensive mind you can't win a game zero to to zero congrats your defense doesn't let him score but I can't get the ball in the end zone so I think you got to have that offense we'll talk about that more in the second half could do that waterl takes the field now they have two timeouts to me this is the biggest 111 of the game I don't know about you but you're still in this game 14 nothing you know you get the ball coming out anything can happen if it
102goes down 21 nothing quick it's tough coming back three scores quads to the right side for the Bulldogs and I think they're going to have to call a timeout coach Rose was running down here at the last second they didn't know how to get set up running back was backed by the quarterback then he went over to be a doubles receiver to the left and then all of a sudden he turned around and ran to the right I think they would have got the play off but it would have been close so they were going to go quads right single receiver left Eagles had three down linemen so looks like they're going to want to sling it a little bit and like we had talked if you can get waterl into those drives and those
103Downs where they have to throw it typically we like our chances so hopefully they try to get a little too aggressive here and the Eagles are able to capitalize I think both teams are tired already because they both just walked all the way to both of their Sidelines so that's one thing to fire you know for a waterl game you would think you'd be fired up but you want to you want to be out there waterl is broken their huddle they're standing just players in the middle of the field right now Eagles are still talking with Coach [Applause] Germaine water student section here getting a little [Applause] Rowdy all right come on biggest 111 of the game right here empty backfield quads to the right side single receiver left one wide receiver is going to
104come in motion and it's not going to have anything going going to be a loss on the play K muscot ISE on the tackle loss of two The Freshman making a great play like that you I didn't even see that ball coming this way until the last second I'm not going to lie to you they kind of got me on that one up trips to the right side empty backfield quarterback's rolling to the right he's got a guy open at the 30 and it falls incomplete bounced around a little bit Eagles almost had a shot at getting it but it falls aimlessly to the ground brings up a third and 12 and if I'm waterl here I'm just going to take a knee or do something to uh let this clock run out because I
105don't think coach Warner is going to call a timeout you never know that guy over there talk about offensive mind in the first half would you think that we have positive yardage nope in this first half I I do not think so either we'll see if we can get with howi or Sharky clasn the statisticians for the Eagles see if we can get a get an answer Corners trips to the left side quarterback rolls left once again it's going to be right in front of belman who's going to make the tackle's pass is complete to number and a good tackle gain of about 10 not enough for the first down brings up a fourth down and four good job by Jackson keeping him in front and keeping him in bounds there uh look like that
106wide receiver might have fought tried to get out of bounds but looks like w is probably not even going to run a play here on Fourth and five they're going to let this one go right into overtime overtime halftime look at me yeah we'll take overtime I'll take overtime right now hey we were down 14 nothing last week first with the score 14 all right with that we go into that Life Community Church halftime show where the Eagles are trailing the bugs 14 to nothing water B's going to come out on the field Columbia's going to go off to the right side they're going to get their halftime speeches going and Coach Jermaine and Coach Warner got a lot of talk about and a lot of adjustments to make we're going to start this Life
107Community Church halftime show and we will be back right after this welcome in ladies and gentlemen into this Life Church halftime show presented by Life Community Church in Columbia Illinois make sure you go give them a follow and see what they have going on out there on bottom Avenue waterl band out here they've got a full display of they got a contraption that they rolled out here and everything so they're doing a great job at halftime the mascot race is going to be making a return this year Columbia mascot last year the eagle was Victorious by about 10 15 yards it was a great race at the start they do a 100 yard Dash from Endzone to end zone so the two mascots are setting up right now on our right side they will be
108going right to left the Eagles are in the end zone to the right side of us 920 in this first part of the halftime and then they'll put on another 3 minutes for the athletes to stretch it looks to me like Joe Kish is over talking to trainer sepich so he was plagued with an ankle injury last week before the game he didn't get in to play the whole game and I think that second quarter I don't know if we really saw him too much in that second quarter as well so something to watch there and there is another Eagle over there talking with James he does not have his shoulder pads on so I cannot see a number so that's obviously not what you want to uh to be seeing when the Eagles are
109already trailing 14 nothing and you're going to be losing two of your starters so not what the Eagles are needing here tonight in the route three rivalry Eagles really didn't have too much going at all whatsoever in that first half I do not believe we were just talking up here uh with Mr Wetzel who's doing the the cameras once again thank you to Mr Wetzel for doing it and Mr week Who's down in the end zone this year doing the cameras but I was talking to Mr wetel and we don't think we had a first down that whole first half uh if we did it was because of a penalty and then when we got something going to get it into the second manageable we had a penalty or a loss loss on the play
110so nothing going for the Eagles offensively we do get the football coming out of the live Church halftime show so we'll see if we can get something going after [Applause] [Music] that once again we would like to thank our sponsors for all that they do for the broadcast the sponsors without them we could not do anything without them so if you would be interested in getting into becoming a sponsor contact coach Warner and we can get you the information that you need to become one of them you see them up on the screen right there 23 of them this year uh without them we could not do it without you the main sponsors that we have Cory Pharmacy he is our scoreboard sponsor when we do have the home games the Mandy Maguire group is
111our sponsor for the scoreboard on the kchs broadcast uh Aces wild pregame sponsor you can listen to that every night or every Friday night at 6:30 steak uh Holton meets steakhouse burgers our Holton meets coaches show that gets aired on Thursdays or Fridays uh depending on when myself and Coach Horner and Coach Jermaine are able to get together coach owner with the athletic director duties he's always got something going on so we got to make our schedule work around his so make sure you get to listen to the Holton meets coaches show and like I mentioned before we are currently on the live Community Church halftime show the band is done with their halftime show they're starting to get things off the field in the mascots starting to do their stretching waterl Bulldog he's feeling
112himself right now he's got a little bit of a strut going he's got a 100 yard dash in front of him along with the Columbia Eagle thank you whhs marching Bulldog running how about 100 yard dash once again thank you to our pregame meal sponsor the First National Bank of water purchased the meal so thank you for purchasing the meal for the Players and's Pub for providing the meal they did the cooking so hopefully they are able to uh some good food now and hopefully the second half will be a little bit thanks both schools support of such a meaningful cause and now before halftime comes to a close once again I'm sure you could money from the T-shirt sales was raised four songs for soldiers and that is going to be in two weeks
113we will try to get with Dustin R next week and talk about songs for soldiers and everything that he's done in his life in his career and where songs for soldiers is today will begin the race Jared's back up here he had to make a concession stand run Mas got a Gatorade and a couple Waters Jared just in time for the mascot race and they are off the Columbia eagle gets a little bit of a head start I don't even know if the mascot cares if he has a head start he's got a 5-yard lead for the Eagles Bulldog's catching up but I don't think it's going to be enough it's going to be another victory for the Columbia Eagles in the mascot race conratulations Eagles two years in a row for the Eagles mascot
114coming out of Victorious Jared let's hope that something like that that's what the eagles need on the football side of the field and maybe they can get something going yeah might been a little false start that by Fall start you mean like a three yard Head Start yes well that's okay maybe the Bulldog just didn't hear it maybe his ears weren't working as well and uh he didn't hear the uh the horn going off so Jared we made it to the uh live Church halftime show and couldn't have come at a better time for the eagles they needed to be able to regroup in the name of the game adjustments at this time of the game yeah uh I think on the offensive side of the ball is where we kind of need to look
115especially on that offensive line um it's all that's where everything starts you're not going to score any points if you can't move the ball down the field so um we need that o line to just give Mason one to two Mor not even just to give him one more second just to stand in the pocket a little longer and let those receivers go out there and run those routes and hopefully we can get the ball in our Playmakers hands and they can make something happen in the uh beginning of the halftime show we looked over into the end zone and now I can see the injured Eagle that was talking with trainer J seage looks to be number two Logan Hicks with his shoulder pads off so that's going to be Joe Kish who is
116hobbling around already it looks like he's hobbling around even more and Logan Hicks your starting linebacker and running back with his shoulder pads off so if things weren't going bad for the Eagles now they are even more I'll tell you what I'm never going to walk through that section ever again though I got harassed like no other walking through you get harassed a lot or what happened no I was just walking down there you're on the wrong side buddy you're on the wrong side I'm like I'm like oh my bad I'm just going to get a water folks like I'm up in the Press Box guys I can't help it sorry how come the trouble always follows you I don't know man it's cuz I'm short and I'm from Columbia probably gosh in well I
117guess they did say that the side concession s was open so maybe you should have walked around the field over there right the middle of the GU I don't think that would have gone well either for you water's got a pretty good complex here they got the practice field here on the other side of the field from us we're looking at that uh got the softball field on the other side of that baseball field across the way I believe that baseball field is going to be getting turfed here pretty soon so water doing a great job with their athletic facilities and that's what I've always liked about their facility everything's kind of it's all next to each other the practice fields right over there a football team um you got a nice track here so
118yeah nice complex here for water you got everything right next to the school nice and easy access and there's a lot of things that you look at the Columbia campus and I think it's going to be changing here in the near future as far as what it's going to look like I believe there's going to be an addition coming on to the whole complex as far as the school goes I think they're talking about maybe even another gym in the near future too so Columbia's getting to that point that they need to have it the school is getting older and kids are getting bigger in there as we got over 600 students in there now so it's going to be interesting to see what Columbia does they really don't have a good spot to put
119a new school so they're just going to have to make do with what they have and like you said water's got everything right here Columbia we're strung out a little bit with baseball and softball being at a different complex and a different campus so we may do with what we got so we got a minute left here on the initial halftime show and then it's going to have 3 minutes added to the clock for the teams to stretch and Jared as we look over to the right side of us right now there's not too many Eagles that are running out onto the field with any enthusiasm or fire there's a lot of walking going on yeah that's never a good sign um especially when you have those I mean a couple seniors in the middle
120uh walking too I mean you never want to see that so hopefully we just need one big play like a kick return or a big hit we need to see one big play to get these guys fired up a little bit seems like they they're not really interested to play in the second half and that's one thing you know you got to lean on your seniors now you know they got to be the ones that are going to be your voice and I shouldn't even say they have to be if a junior is there to step up the Junior's got to do it a sophomore's got to do it we got a couple freshman somebody's got to be able to step up and got to get a fire lit we'll see what kind of adjustments
121we made here as coach Baker and Coach stump are on their way up into the Press box here they got to walk through the gauntlet of the student section good luck guys good luck I don't think coach Baker hears very well out of one of his ears hopefully it's that left one he's not going to hear the uh the student saying anything to him waterl police officer is standing in front of the uh student section his sign just said cheer or jail oh wow all the kids started cheering did you hear about Alton High School nope they must have had some big melee of a fight up there and at school yesterday or today so they said that the restrictions to get into the game it was your immediate your mom and dad and immediate
122family only they were everyone had to be seated in the bleachers you could not be seated anywhere else or standing anywhere else so talk about a a weird feeling come on boys big second half big second half coach STP big second half 2 minutes ago now in the live Church halftime show and Jared the Eagles are going to get the football coming out of halftime and they're going to have to get something going we've said that many times and it it's now or never I mean we can say it as many times but you just got to make something happen yeah I'm going back to One play in that first half that I kind of like what I saw getting that ball out to Jackson belman on this on this right side um he's pretty
123quick man once he gets that ball he can shoot through any Gap so uh maybe put him in a couple jet motions just get him the ball see what he can do with it um I think with this offense it's not going to be honed in on one guy like it was last year um every week we're going to have to come with a different mindset and a different guy might have to step up every different week so um it's only 14 nothing same deficit as last last week we were able to tie it up 1414 so we get the ball first and see if we can March down the field make something happen well it's now or never we only have a minute to go go now coach Kendall starting to get the kickoff
124your team ready over by him you look across the way Joe Kish and Hicks neither one of them have their pads on whatsoever so we will call them out the uh questionable Return of the chain gain member he is back out he is limping at the 40 yd line so he's going to give it another go here for the second half only got updated to what is it updated to will play will see him in the second will return will return yeah not on the injury report no more only three chain game members for the Bulldogs over there Columbia we're spoiled we get four of them all right got 12 up on the board now let's get this second half ready to rock and roll thanks for joining us into that live community Church halftime
125show we got second half action coming at you we're going to head to nope we're going to stay here we were going to head to a break and then all of a sudden the officials they just came running out so they're ready to get this second half going of the route three rivalry where the Bulldogs lead it 14 to nothing going into the third quarter number 20 Caleb beler beautiful night here in Monroe County in waterl to receive the very comfortable here in our t-shirts and shorts and like I said in two or three weeks we'll be praying that we'd be in the Press Box you always say that about me too cuz I'm always saying oh it's too lot up here and then by week four got my socking hat and I my gloves
126on my jammies come on boys let's get a better second half going and it's a low kick this time fielded by jce Nelson at about the 12 yd line he gets behind his blockers to the left side he gets to the 30 near the 20 35 and that's where he's going to be forced out so pretty good field position for the Eagles and they're going to have to make something happen and they're going to be led by quarterback Mason vagley brought down by number 36 Tony Gro number 88 see if we any type of different formations here I know coach Horner liked using that sniffer back a lot in that first half see if he wants to use him be as another linean or lead blocker uh to step up and try to protect Mason
127[Music] we're going to need some protection for Mason sniffer back left two wide receivers for the Eagles pistol back is going to be Janik he's going to take the handoff go up the middle he's going to get to the original line of scrimmage and I don't know if he was really touched too much but he goes down gain of nothing looks like almost one or two every every play but no gain on that play bring second down seems like some of our guys need to get more vertical than horizontal we want to run 10 yards to the outside just to maybe gain one yard you got to plant that foot in the ground and try to get as many yards as you can Payton Andrews and Janet go off the field reibling and can't see
128it might have been Stefan just came on empty backfield this time for vagle trips to the left side one guy out to the right they're going to be blitzing off this side vaguely doesn't see him coming they come to his backside he stays on his feet he's going to have to to make something happen he cuts back up to the middle of the field and it's going to be another loss on the quarterback sack nothing going once again for the Eagles offense brings up a third and 13 not too many play calls for you here on third and 13 with just under a minute taking off the clock after the first half end y go I don't know about you but Mason had one blocker out here and he had a little bit of room
129to get five six yards but decided to cut it back to the middle and gain nothing Eagles moving left to right ball in the middle of the field going to be a roll out and what do you know nothing going fumble on the play and it's going to be another loss of seven or eight brings up a by number gav lick and [Applause] 21 loss of seven more yards bringing up a fourth down and Y to go Mason was trying to get to the outside he wanted to roll to the right yeah he he took one step and there's nowhere to go he said no tried going back that other way and he Gob up there too line just can't get anything going waterl trying to figure out what guys they want on and off
130the field and like we talked earlier with the quarterback having to scramble it's the same thing for your punter luckily that was about a 15 16 yd roll when the ball hit the ground but Mason had that one block and he got ran into once he just picked the ball up and kicked it and luckily like I said it had a good roll so from the Eagles 206 to the Bulldogs 36 Bulldogs will start defense got to keep us in it once again give us a chance two touchdowns isn't a big lead not at all especially I mean in high school football it can can flip like it can flip so quick so um what I've been saying all game a big turnover here would be nice uh scoop and score a pick six um
131just something to get these guys motivated to actually want to win this game because they do not look motivated at all right now Eagles Got Five Guys on the line of scrimmage it's going to be a pass option read is that what you call it quarterback's going to throw it pass is complete to number five and it's going to be completed gain of three good job tackling there Denny by Sam Denny so on that type of play that quarterback it's all about the quarterback's decision there he ran right at Sam Denny who was guarding that receiver to kind of force him to either stay with me or make me make me throw it out to that receiver that's what he did kind of settled for that quarterback and made him toss it out on that
132bubble route and he was lucky enough to only gain five yards but second and five now whistles on the play new shot uh game clock that was a very quick very quick game clock there two weeks in a row we have this problem at least now the officials are able to just talk to one another over headsets he makes a little bit quicker so they get the problem resolved second down and six ball at the Bulldog 40 yd line 8:45 on the clock going to be a pass play this time and it's going to fall incomplete oer augi threw an absolute missile out there intended for number five and it falls incomplete third and six yeah I never understood that why do quarterbacks have to try to throw throw a ball 100 miles hour when
133you're three feet in front of them we got to get it there I remember back whenever I was uh what was that my junior year Greg I would run uh bubble routes and Greg long would throw straight missiles at you like turn his whole shoulder and just oh man my hands would be red after practice quarterback's going to keep it himself this time good job there Brandon Jackson fighting off the block and sticking with the tackle and he's going to get him short fourth and two waterl looking like they're going to go for it and I don't blame him here Eagles offense hasn't been able to do anything you're in your territory but who cares yeah they've been that first the end of the first half there they were throwing the ball a little bit
134more so I would just run the ball here with that quarterback they're going to hand it off to the running back he's going to get the first down and only about two yards more the going to bring up a first down and 10 at the Bulldog 48 yd line clock keeps moving 810 on the game clock belman almost didn't see this receiver out here quarterback under Center they're going to hand the ball off again just coming right at you nothing going great job by the Eagles defense there slamming the running back down nothing was happening Keegan Thompson making a hard good hit they were up on the ball pass quick on that first down play great job by the Eagles defense like you said to get the Back Field only gain of about two or
135three for first down bring up oh he called it five okay that's a generous five yards man ball right at Midfield right now quarterback empty backfield good job by the Eagles forcing it back inside two big hits and it's going to be a loss of five on the play to the 45 who got in the back field first look like cam janick was the first one there just to slow that quarterback down a little bit number once that happens like I said man you'll have all those white hats flowing to the ball and look at that loss of about seven six and now you got third and up a third down and 13 yd to go water's been in control all night long in this first half though or this first drive of the second
136half been the Eagles defense so far right now that's a big play right here see if the Eagles defense can get the offense back on the field motion man they're going to run to the left side good job cam forcing it back inside and it's going to be really nothing going for the quarterback Hoster hogy he's going to get six maybe seven get back to the 50 yd line but cam Janik once again good job keeping it inside that's the that was the biggest play or biggest uh thing on that play um if ostra hogi brings that outside he's got these two receivers out here to pin Bel and Sam Benny it's a great job by cam J to get up field and force a quarterback back inside looks like they're going to stay on
137the field for this fourth down they're going to run to the left side and a rugby Punt and it's going to go straight up in the air get away from the football as it bounces at the 30 and gives a waterl bounce and it's going to keep rolling down inside the 15 to the 14 yd is down by number 12 so we'll see if the offense can keep it going this time or get it going this time as the defense has done their job tonight other than a uh face mask that put them in their on their heels and then third some great field position for the Bulldogs defense has done their job yeah especially looking at that game last week like we said um scoring 40 points against the Mount Vernon team um that
138all they really know how to do is score and Maru just sticking with him the whole way so a great job by the defense tonight um only only 14 points up on the board they'll take that every week with Hicks coming out now we're going to have to figure out who the new replacement is doubles to the left side they're going to run it to the left side with Jace Nelson who is hit instantly Json by three guys two linemen are downfield and neither one of them are touching anybody and another receiver didn't seem to be having anybody either for Coach lost of two for Coach Herer he's always the type to throw a couple trick plays in there but I mean if you don't have anything going for you right now second three on
139the inside zone or um get anything going I mean you can't even incorporate those into your offense uh at this point in the game Hudson Bryant number 21 is now into the game for the injured Hicks single receivers out wide madx stefen is now your sniffer back to the left Jason Nelson running back to the right they hand it off to him he's going to get hit once again going to be another loss number zero two brings up a third and 14 number 33 Patrick odonnell yeah I didn't even realize when you look back at the clock now there already 5 minutes after two yards on took off about 5 minutes um only gain about 20 20 25 yards there 14 yard to go playing a lot of clock management looks like uh when they
140have the ball and just try to keep the ball out of Columbia's hands as much as they can try to where this clock down Eagles are pulling three guys off the field going to have three new one come on it's going to be Nelson nope it's going to be Janik rling and [Applause] Bryant going to have to call a timeout as the Eagles were trying to figure out who they wanted on the field so with that timeout there's 430 remaining in this third quarter we're going to run to a break let coaches figure out what they want to do on this third and down 14 y to go for the Eagles third down in 14 for the Eagles from their own 10 backed up once again Eagles are going to have to try to make
141something happen looks like it's going to be manto man to the left side they're going to send Jay Nelson's a motion man they're going to throw it to him he's going to catch it he's going to get hit instantly for a loss of five bring up a fourth and 20 and again third and 15 we run a route for negative five yards and we get hit right away Lo there was a great job there by the defense by water sniffing that out right away Los of five y on the play bring up a fourth down and 19 y to go from the eagle 5 yd line fourth and 19 from the fivey deep rece don't see what we saw last week here snap over the head of Mason vagley on a punt uh he's got
142his heels almost on the on the chalk in the back of the end zone he gets it off and over in kick bounces at about the 28 yd line it's going to be picked up and fumbled it's still falling around it's still going around Eagles and Bulldogs all going for it and it will be recovered by the Bulldogs at the 32 that thing was bouncing around for a while down there they're giving us chances to stay right in it Alex we talked about it in the aces wild pregame show you got to catch the breakes and if you catch them you got to take advantage of them so the Bulldogs will start this drive at the Eagle 33 yd line first and 10 once again Bulldogs getting good field position here starting at the 33
143yd line of the Eagles 338 remaining in the third quarter Eagles Trail this one 14 nothing in week two action both teams coming in 0 and one motion man there's two guys moving at the same time the officials see it just as quick as I do and it's going to be a penalty flag false start on the offense Los of five Bulldogs five Y is stepped off making quick question how' you like the Tigers win last y to go it was a pretty good win I didn't understand ESPN wasn't working up at uh Aces we were trying to watch it up there the uh I guess Charter must have had an issue with ESP my neighbor had the same exact thing happened to him so yeah something must have happened with that we did get
144to watch it it is uh nice to see was it Luther Burton or Burton whatever Burton he took a couple shots though last night man we got to get him into the uh into the mix this year so first and 15 this time going to be a stretch play to left side running back puts his foot in the ground and he's going to be met by number 55 Brandon Jackson and I believe that was number 77 BR fur on the tackle only a gain of three and That Was Keegan Thompson again that as that outside linebacker number you don't have to make the tackle you just got to force force them to go up field and your other guys are going to come make that tackle so great job by thp back going to be
145about a second and 12 here for the Bulldogs three down linemen four linebackers four defensive backs for the team in white motion man is the Bulldog it's going to be an option play to the left side quarterback is going to pitch it to number five great one arm snag to catch it and he's going to get a gain of six that was a pretty good grab by the running back yeah I thought Keegan Thompson got a hand on that to be honest with you but R out of bounds by number 14 man that was close that could have been our break right there so it's going to bring up a third down and six bringing up a third down and seven yard to go third down and seven officially yeah he corrects us every time
146I feel like we're a yard off on everything we're always a yard off doubles to the right side running back to the right side of the quarterback under 10 seconds on the play clock they fake it to the right it's going to be a pass 's pass is incomplete not really sure what was supposed to happen on that play there was not a receiver within 10 yards of where that ball landed not to mention there was four linemen that the ball almost ran into so there would have been illegal guys down field I feel like not really sure what the play was there but it's going to bring up a fourth down and seven biggest play of the game up to this point I would say bigger than the last time you said that yeah
147every play matters Alex fourth and seven ball at the Eagle 30 yd line 245 eagles need a stop it's a game of inches trips to the right side sniffer back to the right side it's going to be a false start oh now it's going to see if it's going to be a fall start or an off sides they both moved the official on our side of the field threw it backwards on our side we'll see who flinched first false start on the Bulldogs F start against the Bulldogs five yds is stepped off that's big there woo yeah it is that'll make it fourth down and 12 yds to go from the 35 Y water just pin us deep I think yeah there's no reason to go well we haven't moved the ball either though so
148take your chance and then you get to control the clock even more doubles to the left side it's going to be the rugby style punt once again and it's going to get off and it's going to fall oh my inside the 5 yd line a great job with the punt this time pinning the Eagles deep at the four where the official stopped moving great punt there by the Bulldogs goes out of bounds and the Eagles are now going to have about 95 yard 96 Drive sorry I was just acting 239 remaining in the third quarter 239 on that Mandy Maguire group scoreboard where the Eagles are trailing 14- nothing in week two feel was like last week didn't we have it on like the one yard line after we covered that fumble we had to
149go 99 yards we had a long way doubles to the left side single receiver to the right sniffer back is going to be left janic going to be a quick pass this time going to be caught by a Columbia Eagle slot receiver let's see if we can figure out who is out there's pass is complete to number 11 Lucas rebling Lucas ring getting the catch down by number 61 gain of two Jack rustler no gain on the on those I mean we're just running simple uh little screens bubble routes and it seems like they're just right there right in our face right whenever we're able to catch the ball water doing a great job flying to the football doubles the left side same formation again this time we're going to throw it to the right
150side it's going to be rainwater he's going to drop it bigley's pass he tried looking up and running too quick incomplete and that falls incomplete so now number one Conrad lar third yeah looked like rainwater there was already looking up field before he was able to pull that ball in two minutes to go in the third quarter as Eagles have only taken off 39 seconds on this drive now they're going to do the same formation once again and it's going to be a handoff this time dive it's going to be Nelson he makes one man miss makes a second fall off J Nelson on the carry gains maybe two brings up a fourth down and eight from the seven and Eagles are going to be punting once again I think we might have just as
151many punts as we do offensive yards uh yeah probably Mason standing in the inzone again on this punt High punt he brings it down and it's going to go somehow through the lineman and it's going to be another Eagles roll to only the 29 yd line rolls dead at the 29 not many things going right for the Eagles tonight so it was a 23 yd punt bull L will start this drive at the Eagle 29 with 112 remaining feels like we can't really gain any type of momentum haven't really had a big play to go off of um and that usually comes off either your special teams or your defense or I mean your offense too just making big plays and we haven't had one big play I'd say all night um to kind of
152get the the guys R up but um still a lot of time left still got a whole quarter and we're only down two scores doubles left side ball on the right hash quarterback takes it he's going to hand it off good job there by Janik and Thompson once again those two guys are really impressed me tonight gain of nothing on the play for noain by yeah Keegan and cam there forcing it back up up fi able to get a hand or two on him bring down loss of one bring up a second down and 11 yards to go could be the last play here in the third quarter as it'll go off under 40 seconds so we'll see what waterly wants to do same formation once again for the Bulldogs this time it's just going
153to be a quarterback run to the right he gets behind a couple guys and he's going to be forced backwards great job there by I believe it's pton Andrews and Jackson and Mason vagley all getting in on that tackle gain of two third down once again bring up a third down and N Ys to go waterl should let this be the end of the quarter most likely it should they are starting to walk off the field so that Mandy Maguire group scoreboard still reads waterl 14 Columbia zero only 12 minutes to go in this 2023 route three rivalry Eagles are going to have to make something happen in the fourth quarter when we return right after this columia [Applause] nothing s welcome back to this fourth quarter between the Eagles and the Bulldogs quick third
154down play here osar hogy running around in the back field still running towards this side line going to be close to that first down marker I don't think he's going to have it yet number 11 might be a little short maybe a yard short down by number one going to be fourth and one from about the 21 yd line gain of seven yards bringing up a fourth down and one yd to go for the Bulldogs official calling over here on the waterl sideline calling an official timeout not sure what's going on here on that fourth down play kind of a broken play and ostar hogy just kept it alive with his feet supposed to be a designed screen pass to this side that was blocked off by Corner out here who's this corner on this
155side I can't see Andrew Andrews so then oari just put his head down gained about seven eight yards and now we're going to have a fourth and one motion man for the Bulldogs fake it to him they're going to go right underneath with the initial running back who's going to get enough for a first down and keep the drive moving down by numbery not before he gained three yards good for another Bulldog first down Jared you look at the defensive line right now not too many guys that we say their names very often Hayden Hera the senior BR furo the sophomore and Josiah Miller not too much experience on that defensive front and waterl right now is just taking it right down her throats number 11 lose penalty flag thrown after the play 77 bro
156fur but whenever you throw those sophomores and guys who haven't had much Varsity action makes for these kind of kns and on the offensive side of the ball kind of same way a freshman two sophomores and two one guy that's played one guy that's never played a down football before in his life either so yeah especially in a kind of rivalry and atmosphere and everything that goes all week even uh you're just thinking about how what am I going to do on Friday night how am I going to do on Friday night um coaches are most likely going to put them in the best spot that they can to succeed um this game's still not over big penalty here going to March him back Pete marching them back you get a stop here get one
157big play on the offensive side of the ball we've been saying this whole this whole game it's toen it's going to happen one time see one little spark just haven't been able to find that all night so after the personal foul after the play loss of 15 on the play on the Bulldogs going to be a handoff nope they're going to keep it with the quarterback that cam cober hogy on the keeper cam Furlow and Jackson down by number 77 bro furo looked like cam Janet come up lower to shoulder kind of hit the boom there now we got about third and 17 here if you're water clock is definitely on your side gain of about two yards bringing up a third down 17 yds to go and if I'm their coach on this side
158I'm running that thing under 5 seconds on the play clock every single play 10 minutes to go on the game clock going to be handed out they're going to go wide on the third down play they're going to get to the original line of scrimmage and nothing more five Chris P on the car great tackle there by Sam Denny brings up a fourth down and 10 and if you got a kicker here in your waterl I think I tried to make this a three possession yeah gain of most likely seal it but bring up a fourth down and 10 yard to gol Lou agar the pro kicker back in the day he should be uh I think he's still over here about the 34 yd line right now I bet you this is a hard
159count play I don't think they're going to run anything I did not see a t out there so um kind of unusual to me you have Louis agar as your kicking coach you're not going to going to kick it to make it a three-score game they're under 5 Seconds now I don't see a play getting run off here oh they do quarterback's going to keep it he's going to try to roll he's going to set his feet try to throw it and it's going to fall incomplete nothing going on so the Eagles have H and take cam janick there for in the quick throw 18 ydd line with 923 remaining in the fourth quarter and there's that turnover on Downs that the Eagles needed there we've got two or three of those all night Alex
160just can't get first Down official timeout now referee coming over with quarterback Kobe Oster hogy as he comes over and a trainer comes to him right away so must have something on going on that the officials saw right away 923 remaining in the ball game Eagles Trail it in the fourth quarter 14 nothing trying to avoid fall into 0 and two first and 10 from their own 18 yd line they're going to be moving right to left ball is going to be on the right hash low snap throws the timing off vaguely picks it up himself he's going to get about two maybe three yards before getting dropped maybe forward momentum gives him four but not much going with that snap gets rolled back to him Eagles gain of yard trying to make something happen
161here almost at that point with only 9 minutes left now you really need to try to get something going here he's a good positive yard there on first down so so see if we can keep it going on this second and six doubles to the left side sniffer back left is Janik gribbling in rainwater over here it's going to be a run up the middle though gain of two brings up a third down and four J Nelson on the carry brought down by number 52 gav I don't want to say it but you almost have to go for it if you don't get yeah pick it up on third down here but still 8:30 left bring third down yard to go now it's going to be Sam denan rbbl closest to us moved him around
162a little bit rbbl backs up off the football he's your slot receiver to the left side play action bootleg to the right side bagle is trying to scramble he's getting pulled down from behind he just throws it so he doesn't take a sack fourth down and six decision time incomplete for Coach hor put on the quarterback by number 52 it looks like he is going to punt yeah you almost have to there I was thinking if you pick up three four yards there make it a fourth and one maybe fourth and two that'll bring up a fourth down and four yards go four fourth and five that's a little tougher to get especially how we've looked tonight on the offensive side of the ball just haven't been able to get any flow good snap this
163time very good punt by Mason fair catch called get on the on the football bigley's punt that's a fumble the E Eagles should have the football catch by number five the officials blew it dead wow what a very quick whistle unless unless if he touches it does it blow it dead in high school that's that's a live ball I would think I would in my mind that's a live football he called for fair catch ball went through his hands I think that might be of blew drums out but wow there might be a high school rule that we don't know about up here but I don't that is that R Sam Herer if you're listening send me if that is a rule in high school football right now because I going to ihsa with that
164fumble Again by the Bulldogs now they're going to have to make something happen and Oster hogy just Chucks it downfield good thing for the Eagles it stops the clock at 7:51 up a second down and 10 yds to [Applause] go that might have been the first time we would had the ball on the other side of the 50 though yeah I you're right I don't know if we've gotten past the 50 tonight I still don't know if we have a first down like I said I think we got more punts than first downs we'll have to get the official stat from Howie next week going to be a handoff up the middle this time nothing going good job by Mason vagley and Josiah Miller Cameron janick all in on the tackle and coming off the
165pile last senior Brandon Jackson in the middle of the everything yeah he's going to be hurt tomorrow he's been in almost every play tonight working his tail off out there as that middle linebacker on and I'll tell you what our defenses look pretty solid tonight got guys flying around cam Jan made a couple great y to just haven't been able to get any type of flow on that offensive side of the ball quarterback's going to run to the right side he might try to pass it he's not going to be able to he's going to have to try to make something happen he runs out of bounds on the keeper Mason and him had a pretty good hit there run out of bounds by number gain of six brings up a fourth down and we'll
166call it six now too we've had them stuck on fourth down i y fourth down and five yard to go look for the rugby style punt it happens once again it's going to be a low Punt and it's going to be a great bounce for the Bulldogs that's going to hit the 10 and we'll call it the 9 and a half where it is going to be downed so the Eagles are going to have 91 yards in front of them 659 remaining 39 in the ball game by number 11 Kobe we're going to stick with you here as the teams are start this drive flipping the field here pretty quick yd line with 659 remaining in the fourth quarter still upset about that any response yet from Sam yeah not yet got the moon coming
167up across from us here it's a good looking one just had the super Blue Moon the other night when I looked at it it still looked like the same I guess I missed it Eagles are going to try a run play up the middle nothing really going for him maybe a gain of one and I'm not really sure like you said earlier it seems like we're moving and all a sudden they get tackled and they're back to the line of scrimmage I don't know cuz you're five yards back off the off the snap right but I mean it does look like our guys are fast enough to be able to get two three yards cuz they are but it looks like they're getting six to seven yards but they're only getting one to two yards
168bring up a second down and N yard to go perception's a little off cam Janet comes off the field I didn't see which Eagle came [Applause] on the official walked off the sideline with him so I don't know once again the official might have seen something Jason Nelson pitch right here use this wide side of the field hopefully rainwater can make a good crack down block and make these two go one-onone it is going to be Nelson but it's going to be Nelson to the original line of scrimmage maybe not even loss of at least one on the play bring up a third down and 10 22 jce Nelson on the carry stopped by number 11 Kobe OST a that clock's just going to tick tick tick already halfway through this fourth quarter now as
169Columbia really needs to get something going right here on this wonderful September 9 Alex happy September Paul is almost here I'm ready for it football season is in the air official college first Saturday is tomorrow trips still left side running back left I bet you we got a roll out here and we do got to seal the edge Jas got number four here for the Eagles get up field now he's got the 20 25 we got ourselves Columbia Eagles first down but then you look back at the team now there's no Tempo no type of awareness of how much time's on the clock when you're down two scores you got everybody walking back to the ball and that's not the tempo you like to see 14 y good for an eagle first down Sam Denny
170good for 19 first and 10 ball at the Eagle 28 yd line trips to the right side we're going to roll to the right vagle is going to have to Step Up make something happen he's got the original line of scrimmage he's got 3540 45 and he's going to go out of bounds good for another Columbia Eagles first down gain of 17 you know what I would have done right there that was Mason flop yep you're going to get a 15 I'm telling you man it works it works all it takes is a little bit of contact right by the sideline and you flail your arms up a little bit hey I got away with it here my uh my senior year we got an extra 15 yards so I believe that play right there
171goes for 17 the play before for about 19 I think is what I heard on the intercom two back to back those 36 yards I don't know if we had 36 yards all night under 10 seconds down the play clock sniffer back is going to be Andrews I believe he comes running on late Jace is going to be the motion man it's going to be a false start flag the snap and typically that's where your drives are going to be killed right there you get something moving and then you get a penalty to kill it let's not let that happen it's going to be a loss of a five there was motion out of your two receivers to the topag I believe that was Bryant and rling over there I don't know who they got
172on it the 40 yd line bring up a first down and 15 yd to go Andrews comes off madx stefen comes on doubles to the right side is Bryant and rling rainwater and Nelson are going to be the two receivers of the left side looks like we're going to send Nelson in motion we do it's going to be a hand off to him nope play action vagle is going to have to make something happen out of nothing again and it's going to be another loss of four just nothing going three guys in the back field right away Austin crder Mason tried stepping up but wasn't able to do it yeah and some of those play actions you only have so much time just to get the ball off on those playaction passes you're looking to
173one guy normally that's going to be cutting across the middle um and nobody was really open there and he really had no time to do anything so he tried to just get as many yards as he could um lost about four trips to the right side this time running back to the left six guys at the line of scrimmage for the Bulldogs they bring all six of them Nelson's got it in open field he's going to gain J Nelson he gets out of bounds stopping the clock at 410 he's knocked out of bounds by number the Eagles 42 yd line third and 13 you got to be in four down territory here apprach Horner calling for Ruckers yard bring up a third down 14 y to go you don't know what Ruckers is trips to
174the right side running back to the right side vagley is going to go over there he's looking for guys downfield he might tuck it and run I think he's going to he's going to get up into the 47 over his own player on the yeah brings up a fourth and seven about at the 50 yd line Eagles are going to be going for it I think if you're Columbia you got to go for a hard count here yeah 350 remaining on the Mandy McGuire group score I think if you don't get them to jump here you almost you don't want to burn a timeout cuz you want to keep those in your back pocket but yeah you're going to have to call timeout here and get these guys ready for this next play and uh
175make sure they know what's going on balls on the right hash we're going to go trips left to the wide side of the field running back is going to go into the boundary he's going to be to the right side of egley it's going to be just a straight drop back he's going to have to step up and make something happen and still nothing's going to happen quarterback sacked by number 11 Kobe Oster hogy quarterback sack for the Bulldogs going to be a turnover on down ball was at the 49 yd line vaguely gets sacked L of Y at the 39 yd line I'm going to call a Los of 10 and Jared this will be a stat we'll have to get from Howie and I'm sure he's got it not going to be pretty
176man the big statement now do we have positive yards for the night it's going to be close and I those last two plays might have saved it but man yeah it's going to be tough I don't think I don't think we're going to be on that positive side to be honest with you Alex quarterback's going to hand it off again to number 21 he's going to get about two brought down on the play by number 77 Brody furo second down and eight 315 remaining on the game clock now when you're on this defensive side of the ball you got to be going for a strip every single time try to punch that ball out and scoop and score what they work on in pregame waterl here is going to be taking the entire play clocked
177down 248 remaining in the ball game a first down going to get you close to a victory maybe two penalty flag thrown on the play it's going to be tentatively a gain of two Furlow again making the tackle I will say this Alex other than that first quarter tonight our run defenses look pretty solid yeah I mean our D linemen are like you said getting to those gaps and linebackers are flowing to the ball forcing everything back in getting hats to the football I mean that's all you can really ask for on the defensive side as it's second and about eight now holding penalty on the play it's going to be a spot foul loss of 10 second and 18 hands to the face penalty against water hands to the face the so it's going
178to bring up second down and a lot five six seven eight second 18 clock should be running I would well we'll take it not running it's fine with me we'll take that extra couple seconds good job there once again by The Eagles defense flowing to the ball brings up a third down and 18 Jared I'm going to be on your side there I think the defensive unit I mean like I said you had a personal foul face maskk that gave 20 yards that ended up as a touchdown and then you get started at your own 36 yd line you gave up a touchdown there otherwise you haven't giving up a touchdown tonight no it's z z basically um which is why I've said every I've said this is the biggest play of the game about
179four or five times cuz all it takes is one of those we haven't had one big play all night and all it takes is that that one big play at any point in time whether it's defense offense or special teams and I don't we haven't seen any of that tonight quarterback's going to keep it he gets it in the back field he gets away from one gets away from Furlow there's four more Eagles over there and they're going to bring him down and it's going to be a timeout for the Eagles brings up fourth and 19 after a loss timeout Columbia need to do a little trickery on this punt return here second timeout in the second hand I don't know how you could do uh any trickery with a rugby punt though so going
180to be kind of hard to do that I'm bringing all 11 guys I mean I'm not even going to try to attempt to return this I'm going to go for the block I'm going to bring guys off the corners bad thing is that your quarterback is your punt so they uh that definitely works out well for them traveling to Columbia on Monday September 4th with a 6:00 kickoff and then after that you're going to have to have trickery then you're going to need a touchdown out of that trickery a quick onside kick a quick touchdown after that you go for two you walk out of this game winner 154 I think it works out pretty good the game's not that hard well we're going to have to get I'm not even going to go there
181not going to go there going let it play out and see what happens Alex hey we watched a punt get returned last year with about a minute 20 to go they got the Eagles into a victory so we'll see what if it happens again we are going to send a man back that is Lucas rling he's a great athlete so let's see if he can get anything to go on make something happen here Lucas a quick rugby style Punt and this thing is launched into the air Ring's going to catch it at the 17 I did not see him wave for the fair catch cuz I was looking straight up at the ball got up to the above the lights look like all right Eagles got got a minute 37 to get 14 points or
18215 if they want to walk out of here with a win yeah got to stay positive Alex come on hey I'll go for 15 come on Eagles got to be working with the sidelines right now if you're the Eagles and waterl you got to know that too you got to keep them in bounds doubles this time for the Eagles jce Nelson's going to be your wide receiver standing to the left side of Mason vagley four down linemen they got two linebackers approaching the line of scrimmage looking like they're going to Blitz one of them does quick out route thrown by Mason's going to be caught got to get out of bounds if you're Stefan no or is that Denny that's Denny and he does get out of bounds I'm not really sure how second down
183and nine on the gain so second and one minute 30 like he broke a tackle there and was able to kind of dive towards the sideline and able to get that ball out of bounds and stop the clock second one good job there by Mason just getting it and throwing it he didn't think about that throw at all so going to have to make something happen doubles once again running back to the left side ball on the right hash three down linemen two blitzing backers they're going to all come going to be another quick route this time caught by riing he gets out of bounds it's another Columbia Eagles first down this time a gain of seven St by number call going to be first and 10 on the Eagles 35 yd line that play
184only took 5 Seconds 85 seconds remaining on the clock first down doubles once again for the Bulldogs same formation now they're going to move the running back to the right side five down linemen two linebackers four defensive backs looks like it's manto man everyone comes through like a Civ on this play Mason gets to the original line of scrimmage where he's brought down after a gain of one looked like it was nothing but go routes [Music] there injury on the play so with the injury we're going to take it to a break looks like it's just a cramp but we're going to take it to a break and we will be back with the rest of the ball game and the post game show right after this welcome back the injured Bulldog on the play
185Kobe Oster hockey he's done it all tonight been the quarterback been a big time player on the defensive side of the football looked like it was just cramped he was able to run off on his own power couple great punts too yeah brings up second down and nine Paul at the Eagle 36 yd line 70 seconds to go low snap throws everything off and it's going to be another loss on the play loss of 10 by number 75 Ethan F loss of 10 on the play Eagles still walking back to the line of scrimmage don't have a play call in third and 18 [Applause] third low snap once again picked up it's just going to be thrown up by vagle rain is going to go up for it and it's going to fall incomplete bigley's
186pass intended for number 34 Dalton rainwater is incomplete Dalton rainwater was the intended receiver on the play number one Conrad [Applause] lard that eagle sideline really thinned out now student sections all but gone Grand stands all but gone and that fence line is holding stronger than the grand stands trips to the right side running back left fourth down and 18 bagley's going to step back he's going to get it once again and he throws it incomplete what are they going to call grounding it's 100% grounding on the play there there's nobody around still in the pocket still in the might have got did there only thing that's going to happen is got past the line of scrimmage but turn regardless it'll be a turnover on Downs 31 seconds to go so Jared last play of
187the game let's just go ahead and talk post game right now as the Eagles are going to lose this one 14- nothing they're going to fall to 0 and two on the season last year they were 90 Victors this year they're going to be 14-0 loss not the game that you wanted a lot of the same that we saw out of last week too offense couldn't get it going defense kept you in the game but ultimately Eagles are going to go back to the Northern side of Monroe County at 0 and2 waterl is going to improve to 1 and one yeah kind of tough game tonight um especially on my offensive side of the ball um there's not really much to say honestly I mean just kind of looked ugly from the beginning uh upcoming
188Bulldog varsity game just weren't wasn't able to get anything going no type of flow Friday we were losing yards on first down having to go off a second and 15 turning into a third and 20 felt like all night um so you're not you're not going to win a lot of ball games like that hopefully coach Warner gets these guys in the uh in the film room and Coach him up a little bit and see what we can do next week this one should hurt losing to uh water team um when you stuck right there the whole game I mean defense kept you in the game like you said uh definitely better than last week I would say on the defensive side of the ball you had definitely guys flying to the ball um but
189yeah overall it's kind of a disgusting loss yeah I don't want to use the word embarrassing because that's a little harsh but man that was a that was an ugly one to watch tonight and you're going to have that sometime so when we talk about this you're still talking about 16 17 18y old old kids soend now we get into the postgame show here and talk a little bit about next week the Columbia quarterback Club once again will be hosting a tailgate they'll be down at the perch so look for their tent down there and come on over get with the parents uh everyone has a good time down there so come on over get with the Columbia quarterback Club make sure you get involved I believe the quarterback Club will be doing a Survivor
